could you give us some Merlin magic reveal fics?
1. Deep In My Heart I'm Concealing by Cithara (@citharaposts)
Navigating life events that turn his world upside down, including his ascension to the throne and a revelation that rocks him to his core, Arthur's ever-evolving relationship with Merlin becomes the most important of his life. No one ever said love was easy.
“I would die before I hurt you,” Arthur said, his voice strangled. “I would kill anyone who ever tried to do you harm and it pains me to think that you could ever fear me.” “I don’t understand,” Merlin said breathlessly. “You’re the king, you – ” “I’m not standing here as a king, Merlin!” Arthur shouted, his voice breaking as he did so. “I’m standing here as a man, a man who believed he knew you completely, a man who thought you were the one constant in his life, a man who thought…who thought you were his,” he finished, horrified to feel tears pricking his eyes.

2. That Which Calls to the Soul by Imagined (@burglarhobbit)
“I don’t want him as my soulmate,” Arthur complains. “He was rude, and he’s magic, and he’s old and quite frankly, I think he’s insane and—”
“And he’s not Merlin?” Morgana asks, crossing her arms.
“Shut up, Morgana,” Arthur says heatedly, feeling the flush settle awkwardly in his cheeks. “Merlin isn’t my soulmate, so there’s clearly something severely wrong with him, and I just haven’t figured out what it is yet.”
Or: It turns out that Arthur's soulmate Emrys is a dodgery old sorcerer. No one is happy about this, least of all Arthur, who has to come to terms with the facts that he's bound to someone with magic and that his inconvenient attraction to Merlin won't lead to anything at all.
So he thinks, anyway.

3. How to Spoil Your Dragon by remaymber
A story about the time when Merlin and Arthur both start taking care of a small dragon in the vaults and don't tell each other about it. Chaos and a very spoiled dragon are ensured.

Hi, I was wondering If you could help me find a fanfic. I remember that Merlin Arthur and the Knights hear a lot of rumours about Emrys for example that he sired a dragon. I sadly don't remember much else but i hope that is enough information.
heya, sorry this is a bit late—busy time of year and all.
true to my addiction, i was browsing around fics today and i do believe i’ve found it!
so here you go, Have You Heard by CaffeinatedFlumadiddle on ao3
i’m also going to recommend Emrys, The Really Truly Terrible by lindenwaverly (also on ao3) because it’s another fic in this vain and i really enjoyed it :}

we will put the lonesome on the shelf (Merthur)
Merthur. Fix-it. Crossposted on ao3.
Merlin falls in love with Arthur. That's clear from even a cursory watch of this show.
So let's talk about this story, about how Merlin falls in love with Arthur and his duty and he calls it destiny but that's not why he stays, because he's terrified by Uther but that doesn't matter.
Merlin falls in love with Arthur because he's kind, and he's brave, and he's honorable, and he may not be Good with a capital 'G' but then again, who is? Merlin falls in love with Arthur because Arthur isn't a saint but he's not a monster, because Arthur is flawed and beautiful in his mistakes.
Merlin falls in love with Camelot because Arthur loves his country and he shows Merlin how to love it too, because a boy with magic sure isn't going to fall in love with the nation that demands he repress what he is or else face death.
Merlin falls in love with the people of this city, cowering and standing and kind and brave and broken. He falls in love with the peasants who trade in the marketplace, the knights who will lay down their lives for Arthur, even the cook who bops him on the head every time he passes.
Merlin falls in love. Let's call it what it is. He falls in love and he can feel his magic protecting a kingdom, a citadel, a King, all in the name of a silly boy who doesn't know just how precious he is to his manservant.
-
But see here's the thing: Arthur's not some oblivious idiot. If he was that much of an idiot, I don't think Merlin would have fallen in love with him.
So Arthur finds out about Merlin’s magic, because of course he does, because Arthur may be a bit thick and stuck up and yes, a clotpole, but he's not an idiot. When he finds out doesn't matter- if he knows from the beginning, if he figures it out when Merlin sends the light after him when he's searching for an antidote, if he witnesses Merlin scrubbing his armor with a levitating rag. That's not important, not to the story of Merlin and Arthur.
Because here's the key part of the story: Arthur doesn't mention it. At least, not at first. Merlin could be executed, after all, and Arthur already cares far too much about the servant who is the only person to disrespect him. He's not going to rat out Merlin to his father.
This is a fairytale, a bedtime story, of a prince falling in love with a servant and that servant falling in love right back. Merlin never gives up on Arthur and Arthur never gives up on Merlin.
But a happy ending is not waiting a thousand years for your lover to return from a watery grave. Arthur doesn't deserve that. Merlin doesn't deserve that.
So Arthur knows about Merlin's magic and his father dies and Arthur turns to Merlin and says, not even attempting any kind of tact because this is Merlin and manners have never mattered, “I know you have magic, and I want your help."
And Merlin will gape at him, because he'd thought he'd kept his magic a secret, and Arthur will sigh.
(Except Merlin's magic is, by this point, the worst kept secret in Camelot. Lancelot and Gaius know. Ealdor knows. Gwaine and Gwen suspect. Mordred and Morgana know. The whole world is aware of how easy it is to have magic and be the King's left-hand man.)
"Alright, then, Arthur," Merlin eventually says. "Tell me how I can help."
And Arthur smiles. -
Merlin is not soft. In no version of this story is he soft. He has killed dozens in the name of Arthur- he knows what it is to hold the power of life in your hands and choose without remorse.
But oh, Arthur is not soft either. No king is. He has led armies into battle, watched soldiers die by his sword.
(Once, years ago, his father told him to attack civilians, and him, in his youth, did just that. And it haunts him.)
“Do you think we're good people?” Arthur will ask Merlin one night, and Merlin will look up from the armor he's shining and be unsure how to answer. What is good? Can killers be good, if they’re working to a good goal?
"I don't know," Merlin will say, and that's the honest answer. "All I know is that I'm trying to be, and I think you are too. And that's good enough."
Arthur will nod. "Thank you."
Merlin will smile that crooked smile that had Arthur falling in love with him, all those years ago. "No problem, you clotpole."
-
So they're both in love and Arthur legalizes magic- because why would he ever keep Merlin's head on the chopping block when he has the power to save him. Merlin becomes Court Sorcerer and the two of them begin the long process of making the kingdom as close to good as they can make it.
And one night, a year since Arthur's father died, Arthur leans in and kisses Merlin, and Merlin kisses him back. Because this is a love story, you know, and these boys don't deserve to pine after each other forever. Let them have their love confession, their dramatic reveal, their kiss.
In the months that follow, Mordred becomes a knight and swears loyalty to his King with a smile on his face; Morgana learns magic without fear of persecution. A sword lies unclaimed in a stone and a girl sleeps at the bottom of a lake. Gwaine, Percival, Lancelot, and Elyan all become knights, and Gwen marries Lancelot in a ceremony attended by her King.
In the end, Merlin and Arthur unite Albion, legalize magic, bring peace to the kingdoms, and it's not because it's their destiny, but because they are too stubborn for their own good. And the world prospers for it.
-
So this is a fairytale, with a King and his Warlock, with a knight and his kingdom. And sure, there is no princess, but there is a Consort and a grand wedding, and Merlin only wears his crown when other monarchs visit, but they are living happily-ever-after.
Arthur and Merlin live, and it may not always be happy, but they're in love and every fight ends up resolved with a kiss and an apology.
One day, the names of Arthur and Merlin will be remembered as Great, and it's not because of a failed battle or a too-late confession. It'll be because these two men may not be Good, but they are trying their best.
And as Merlin says, that's good enough.

“You would choose Merlin over your sovereign?” Frustration was present in his tone but it gave no indication of what Arthur wanted the answer to be.
So, instead, Leon told the King the truth.
“No, sire. We would choose Merlin because you are our sovereign.” Arthur was taken aback at that. “If we allowed any harm to befall Merlin, even by your own hand, you would never forgive us, Arthur.”
At once, Arthur knew Leon was right.

Imagine Arthur and Merlin end up in another kingdom for a peace treaty and their king demands that Arthur prove his convictions on magic.
After all, they didn't want to aid a hesitant king.
So, they put a sorceress to the pyre, claiming she'd used magic.
It's the first time during Arthur's reign that something like this happens and Arthur hardens his expression. Especially when Agravaine reminds him what he's meant to do it for. Arthur's seen through these before, so he tries to endure it.
Merlin, however, can't watch this. Not when Arthur is king. Not straight up burning her at the pyre, so he moves to stand between the pyre and the foreign king. : I'm begging you, let her go!
King: "you let this servant speak up against you like that?!"
Arthur: "I apologize, he can be a bit thick in the head and he has a heart for druids. Merlin, please-"
Merlin: *growls* "I'm not speaking up against Arthur, I'm speaking out to YOU! You have to stop this! She's innocent!
King: *laughs*. Boy, you have no authority here! This woman is one of my citizen! I can do with her as I please!
Merlin: *snaps* The druids are nomads. They live in the forests, not your kingdoms.
King: the forests are part of my kingdom! If the druids want an advocate for their rights, Show me THEIR king.
Merlin: *freezes* wait, what did you say?
Arthur: Merlin, come back here, only the king of the druids may speak up for this woman -
Merlin: *gasps*. Hold on. You mean, Emrys has authority as king? He's a sovereign?
Arthur: yes, Merlin. Of course he is. Although he's a legend, he's technically royalty.
Merlin: *groans* seriously? Why on earth does no one ever fucking tell me these things?! *Takes deep breath* well then, I guess I have no choice.
Arthur: good, now-
Merlin: I'm no longer asking. I demand you let her go.
King: excuse you?!
Merlin: *eyes blazing with magic* Let. Her. Go.

Magic reveal in a terrible situation except whenever it's over and Merlin saved Arthur and the knights hes so tired and upset and angry and overwhelmed and he just sort of turns to denial and
"No." Merlin shakes his head slowly and then more sure.
Everyone looks at him appalled but before Arthur can even open his mouth, he's interrupted by tiny nervous giggles from Merlin rocking back and forth in front of them before stopping abruptly and looking up determinedly.
"No. You all-" he points at the knights (who only flinch a little thank you), "-are you going to pretend you never saw that and then- then!" Merlin says a little hysterically pointing at Arthur now who can't help but take a step back and the look in his eyes.
"You! Are going to wait and then when the time is RIGHT just like I PLANNED I will tell you I have magic! And it will be the perfect moment! And it'll be when I'm ready and I'll tell you everything and it'll be SAFE and and- and you'll be upset but you'll understand and this is just-" Merlin screams a little to himself making everyone's eyes widen.
Merlin looks down with his eyes closed and takes a long breath.
He looks up at them looking like he's about to cry before saying desperately in a small voice, "You guys didn't see anything, right?"
Silence greets him before Gwaine cuts in, in a much less boisterous voice than usual, "I didn't see anything." Looking at the knights beside him, he elbows Elyan in the ribs causing a grunt.
Wincing at the pain, "I don't know what you're talking about." Elyan looks at the others with a very obvious look of 'your turn'.
Percival shrugs solemnly, "I was blinded by the sun."
Leon looks hesitantly over to Arthur before straightening his shoulders, "It must have been a trick of the light."
Merlin's shoulders relax a little as he nods to himself before everyone looks to Arthur.
Arthur looks at his knights and then back to his trembling manservant before looking to the ground and then to the sky.
"We were simply lucky as we always are."
Merlin breaths and everyone ignores the tears falling down his cheek as he turns around.

It would be delightful if a fed up Arthur went on a journey to find Merlin who, according to Gaius, is at the tavern again, only to start realizing that Merlin has literally never been to the tavern because no one knows who Merlin is (or at the very least they’re insistent that Merlin’s never been there.)

1. An Account of the King's Acute Stress as Documented by a Court Physician by billiamshakespeare
Uther Pendragon was known to have occasional acute heart issues due to stress. Gaius just didn't have the foresight to assume it was hereditary.
AKA, 5 times Merlin gave Arthur a heart attack, and 1 time Arthur returned the favor

How I picture Leon finds out that Merlin has magic:
Merlin was tired.
Not because of the abundance of chores and the fatigue that came from running around after yet another assassin, but because he hadn't used his magic at all for the past month. Yes, even with the presence of the assassin. Gwaine had fortunately been there to knock the guy out and throw him in the dungeons, catching him red-handed.
He had been trying to stay as cautious as possible, which was why he hadn't used magic in such a long time.
But the fact was - Merlin was born with magic. It was as natural as breathing to him. So when he didn't use magic for an extended period of time, he would get tired.
He needed to use magic. Just a small bit.
He would do it in the safety of his room, but he was currently carrying Arthur's armor to his chambers from the training field and it was heavy and he was so so tired and- well, it would only be a small spell.
He put the armor down, checked that no one was around, then held up a palm. His eyes flashed gold and a small fire appeared on top of it.
Just because he had missed his magic, he flashed his eyes gold and made the flame morph into a butterfly. He smiled as it slowly flapped its wings, staying on Merlin's palm.
Then Merlin heard a gasp and he snapped his head to the newcomer.
The thing about knights was that they were trained to be as quiet as possible even in armor. It was required for certain missions as well as hunting. But armor was impossible to be quiet, so Merlin, having spent a significant amount of time with them, had trained himself to automatically hear when they were approaching. And since they were always in their armor anyway, even sleeping in it sometimes, he had relied on that to alert him of anyone crossing the hallway.
After all, anyone else - servants and nobles alike - wouldn't bother quieting their footsteps while walking.
If they did, it would be because of malicious intent so it wouldn't matter if they saw Merlin or not.
But occasionally - very very occassionally - knights walked around without their armor.
That, combined with their light footsteps and silent movements, had caught Merlin unaware.
So when he snapped his head over to look at Leon staring with wide eyes at the butterfly made of flame in his hand, Merlin was surprised. More than that, he was afraid.
The two of them froze, with Leon's gaze on the fire butterfly and Merlin's on Leon, standing rigidly like deers caught in the wild.
Then Leon raised his eyes from the butterfly to Merlin, then back to the butterfly, then back to Merlin again-
Before he spun on his heel and walked the other way whistling jovially like he hadn't seen anything.
Merlin was still frozen like a deer. He didn't move until several minutes later when he did hear armor clinking against each other. That was when he got rid of the butterfly and hefted the armor up, walking back to his room, leaving Arthur's armor in favor of panicking.
~
When Merlin met Leon in the armory that evening, he tried to approach him. Leon, recognizing what Merlin was trying to do, let him, moving into a secluded changing room far from the armory with the other knights and squires and pages.
Leon nodded at Merlin in greeting when Merlin closed the door.
"Leon," Merlin started. "What you saw-"
"That you were shirking Arthur's chores? No worries. I didn't give you away before, I won't do so now."
Merlin blinked. "What?"
Leon sighed. "Look, Merlin. I don't get paid enough, even as a knight. Not with all those missions and calamities that keep getting Arthur into trouble. So I refuse to deal with anything above my paygrade. Even you avoiding chores."
Merlin blinked again.
Leon clapped a hand on his shoulder, and with a smile, left the room.
Merlin looked after the knight, wondering for the first time, exactly how many times the knight had committed or aided or turned a blind eye against treason for him to be this casual about it.

i like the idea of a fic where arthur finds out about merlin’s magic, then all of a day passes and arthur has absentmindedly revealed it to half the kingdom
and merlin is so unbelievably frustrated because he managed to keep his secret for YEARS but arthur couldn’t even manage a single day??
and arthur just feeling really embarrassed about having accidentally mentioned merlins magic to five separate people on five separate occasions without realising it
