Magic: the Gathering - PTE

Path to Exile (2015 Friday Night Magic Promo), illustrated by Raf Sarmento is still my favourite version, although that shard angel version (MagicFest 2020) from Chris Seaman is a very close second.

Tabletop Simulator - A Socially Distant Balm

Last night, I was able to play Tabletop Simulator with my wife and brother-in-law. We used a Steam Workshop mod that let you import decks from TappedOut lists, and I found a list of decks that were very good (and basically just a card or two off from the Card Kingdom Battle Decks - not a sponsor, but they are totally awesome, and I’m open to sponsorship.). We played a casual multiplayer game.

It was the most fun I’ve had playing Magic since March 11th, 2020. What was March 11th, 2020? The last day I played Magic with either of my Magic clubs - the one that was tied to the school I used to work at. I miss playing casual magic with kids, and I have three types of decks I love to use for that - CK Rookie Decks, CK Battle Decks, and Planeswalker Decks.

But being able to play a colorless Juggernaut deck against R/G Dragons and Monogreen Giants? Best experience I’ve had in a long time. A long, long time.

If you have a PC that can run it, pick up Tabletop Simulator on Steam. Pick up the fourpack for your friends. Have a Commander night. Have an Archenemy night.

I hope it helps heal your soul with all that’s going on right now. With the complete and total lack of MagicFests.

Go throw some jank together with some pals. Enjoy yourselves.
