I have complained a lot that Kösem wasted a lot of money on, in my opinion, unneccessary new costumes when they already had something similar in stock but this one really takes the cake for me.
Why was it necessary to make a completely new kaftan for Handan in Episode 17 (right) when the one from Episode 02 (left) looks nearly identical. What was the reason for it? Why?

I just saw a quizzing poll on the Turkish Kösem channel about how a Prince died in it. I picked the Murat killed him option and it was true! One of the options was him killing himself and I immediately eliminated that option because no man in MC kills himself. That’s a female speciality in MC.
And this got me thinking of how the deaths of major male characters are tragedies in themselves in MC whereas the deaths of women tend to be the ripple effects of the male deaths, and they often die by their own hands. There are exceptions and I do expect Hürrem’s death to be an Event but this is a general trend I noticed. Tbf it might be because the deaths of the Princes, Sultans and Pashas are taken from historical tragedies whereas the major female characters’ deaths are fictional.

This golden flat headpiece was first worn by a young Hatice Sultan in a flashback in the thirty-fourth episode of the second season of Magnificent Century.
The spin-off Magnificent Century: Kösem used the headpiece twice in its second season, first on Kalika Hatun in the tenth episode and then on Sanavber Hatun in the thirteenth episode.
Netflix' Rise of Empires: Ottoman's second season saw the headpiece on Elena Hatun in the second episode.
