Mahonia harrisoniana
Mahonia is a northern-hemisphere genus in the family Berberidaceae, and its species typically have prickly leaves as can be seen in the plant pictured. Some classifiers prefer to include all the species in Mahonia within an expanded concept of Berberis, so Berberis harrisoniana is an alternative name for this plant. It is a very rare plant, native to the valley of the lower Colorado River, along the border between Arizona and California. Most of the plants known are from the Arizona side, but this one is a propagation of a very rare California plant. We received it in 2022, and we are very happy to see it adjusting nicely and producing flowers - a first for us!

Plant of the Day
Thursday 28 December 2023
The evergreen Mahonia eurybracteata subsp. ganpinensis 'Soft Caress' (Oregon grape) is a compact shrub with a soft feel to the foliage unlike many other Mahonia varieties in cultivation. There are delicate spires of yellow, honey-scented flowers in late summer and autumn, followed by blue-black berries.

!!!Mahonia!
She’s from the same kingdom as nocturn but left a bit later
She also found the scripts about the god that lead them before the radiance but the infected (at that point the knight was midway opening the temple so the infection got worse there, turning from “brainwashed” to barely conscious anymore ) started attacking her just like what happened to nocturn at certain point so she escaped the village
For a while she was traveling around kingdoms as a traveling merchant selling food/candy products but she discovered she rather stay at one place so eventually set up shop in hallownest when she arrived there (at that point the infection was already gone)
It took a while but eventually she made a sort cafe/bakery combination and is enjoying her time there.
Lost respects her as she didn’t make him leave and wasn’t scared when he on accident revealed himself being a nosk
