actually, I made a quiet post about this last night, but considering I've seen some other translate comics that I had in my queue...

Would anyone else who's translating Guilty Gear stuff be up for a discord group or something? Not necessarily socializing, just to send the comics we plan to translate so we aren't doubling up for no reason.

Plus, it's always nice getting second opinions about characters that are utterly impossible to make out or consulting about wordplay or references that really need context.

If you're smart like me you can see that HonaShiho is supposed to model a butch x femme relationship. Honami has hyper-traditional feminine hobbies such as cooking and housekeeping. She is such a stereotypical woman that she gets jokingly called an old granny in an area convo while Shiho is... obviously evocative of every lesbian stereotype under the sun, especially butch, to the point of having a motorcyclist cardset, a knight card, whatever the butch hell the Don't Lose Faith set was... it's simply very clear that they're supposed to evoke the feeling that it's a butch x femme relationship. And Ichika... well, she's fucking wearing plaid flannel, which is a long-standing fashion stereotype of lesbians, especially butches. Arguably IchiSaki is meant to be butch x femme too albeit leans more towards futch x femme. I'm actually the smartest person in the universe. I know everything.

I don't think the V models are very expressive outside of deliberately manipulating their body language to get a message across, but of the two, V2 would have the camera shutter "lenses" the V models are sometimes drawn with whereas V1 just stares blankly no matter what

#V1 doesn't even bother ''blinking'' unless it senses debris on its lens. Focus unmatched except for the fact that it absolutely just got- #distracted by the fact that its gunshot just synced Perfectly to the song playing in its head #(Blinking as in ''closing camera aperture''. I’ve done a bit of detective work with gameguard and I can confirm NONE of it stays on your computer when you delete the game

Actually it’s Only in the gamefile when it’s installed even

I searched through my system32 (where rootkits supposedly lurk) both before and after I uninstalled the game (I even searched through all my computer files afterwards) and my computer found absolute Smack no matter if I had SSO on my computer or not

The only place I found gameguard files is in a folder in the SSO folder literally labeled “Gameguard”. It is NOWHERE ELSE. As it should be. I can also confirm it’s not on when the game is turned off because I Each Time I Relog need to give Gameguard permission through the “Will you let this program potentially change stuff on your computer” (you know the screen you get for every installation of everything) to even start, this would *NOT* be the case if it ran 24/7 as you don’t have to start a program that’s already running y’all feel

So from my research I can safely say that Gameguard sits in that folder and sleeps until I play the horse game with quite a lot of confidence

The thing about Dr. R. D. Renstein PhD is that he's very explicitly not Ren. Like. I'm rewatching his introduction episode (s7e25) because I have some free time, and every time Ren talks about any experiment or machine attributed to him it's made very clear that Dr. Renstein is his own entity. Ren works with him and understands the mechanics behind his work, but Dr. Renstein is not Ren.

This is later very clearly reaffirmed in the episode "WE GOT SNIPPED!" (s7e35), where Ren says that he couldn't get a creeper farm design working, so he turned to an expert: Dr. Renstein PhD.

And nobody talks about him!!! We show Renbob all the love and never give Dr. Renstein anything :( Don't get me wrong I love Renbob too but guys c'mon Dr. Renstein is so good. There's so little to work with but at the same time so much. From his first episode alone we have:

-Canonically he's a world-renowned professor of mycology, but when Ren contacts him he's contracted to do engineering work, not mycology research. Why?

-His lab attire is atrocious. Clearly he has no qualms with breaking the rules of labs

-His hair is mycelium, or at least some form of fungus.

-Ethics Who? He has questionable ethics with regards to scientific research

-He has experience in fieldwork of some kind, having retrieved the mooshrooms for the Mycelium Resistance

There's so much there!! He was left in s7, too, since we haven't seen or heard from him during s8 or s9.

I just think that. Dr. R. D. Renstein PhD.
