had a dream that i was both watching and in a 130 minute flash gordon movie musical about...? baking and rising the corporate ladder (it was also hadestown and l?? had inexplicable scary claymation sequences where you have to fight a bunch of enemies and whatever). it was from 2014 and it was bad, but i couldn't stop watching it. I made it halfway through the third watch before I woke up. there was also irl stuff like cleaning out a science club room of my paperwork so I could save the yakuza doodles in the margins and letting one of my many (in-dream) housemates back inside after he got locked out

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

while i disagree with the idea of all the phantom thieves being a found family (especially considering how little akira actually opens up to them), i also don't like the idea that they're like... the type of people to abandon him when he expresses things that go against their beliefs? I've seen a lot of that kind of characterization especially in ake/shu fics and i'm like... lmfao they wouldn't. ESPECIALLY ann and ryuji wouldn't. but i'll turn my brain off -_-

while i do like akeshu i can't stand a lot of people's characterization of both akechi and akira. leaves a bad taste in my mouth the way they often get flanderized for the ship... not that i'm innocent of that either, lol. my takes on their characters have evolved over the years

i can't understand why so many people like mak0to niij1ma.

there are a lot of interesting things that could've been done with her character and none of those routes are taken. her alleged badassery while still being a shippable waifu is the equivalent of slapping thin, watery girlboss paint on a bland strip of cardboard and calling it a feminist win. every single wrong she has done is ignored by the narrative.

she doesn't apologize to ann or ryuji for believing the rumors and openly victim blaming them in the kamo/shida arc and taking the teachers' side. she regularly makes digs at ryuji's and the others' intelligence even after joining the team. people say she's a good leader but it's like... WHERE. she hasn't been with the thieves long and knows jack about personas. she was dumb enough to waltz into a yakuza den alone thinking she could totally handle it just because she's the president of a high school student council.

there's no sense of planning on her part. she isn't even really rebelling, to that effect-- she's just putting people in danger. it's different from mad/arame and kamo/shida in that those first two palace bosses were direct abusers to the thieves who join the team in those respective arcs. kane/shiro has literally NO directly ties to makoto. it's frustratingly weak and gives us less time to explore haru, whose arc should've definitely been longer.

i could talk more about this but the post is already long enough. anyway. why do people like her. you are not allowed to say ships

Hellooo! Guess who's back

Alright, you probably didn't notice I was gone because I had a lot of stuff on queue but I actually wasn't here here. I've been really really busy this semester, a lot going on! New job(s), campaigning for a new student representative charge at uni, internship, lots of exams, new friends, parents divorcing so I'm probably moving soon, new get-used-to-being-outside-again, new I'm-not-that-depressed-now (yay), new maybe-i-do-like-my-career-after-all, new projects and goals! (Writing everything down I realized that it's been a lot, but I'm doing fine).

All of that made me distance myself from this hellsite (affectionate) due to my lack of time (and my poor ability to organize my time), I have no idea what I'm posting anymore, I had a lot on queue so Tumblr is still posting for me, which is kinda the idea I guess but there were things going on here? And I didn't notice? (I was tagged on some posts but haven't responded to it YET) I'm trying to catch up with all this stuff. My tagging system went to hell too and everything is messy (that kinda bothers me but don't think I'll find the time to fix it).

What I'm trying to say is I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply to posts or messages! I'm catching up little by little! I miss being here and being surrounded by mutuals and having our little interactions!

I like telling you what I've been up to, you guys are important to me so I like being clear, now that I've found the time to do it :-) I'm still studying for finals so I'll be around in my breaks from studying (sorry if I spam you with lots of reblogs, I've missed a lot of good content).
