"i feel like there’s something a bit," maka pauses, crinkling her nose, "pretentious," she ultimately settles on before continuing, "about us hanging the jacket art of some new electro-jazz band that you don’t even like."

"i don’t even want to hear it from you. how many times have we changed our wall art in the last two months alone?" soul snarks back from his spot on the floor, relaxing against their couch as he tinkers with his secondhand record player. maka doesn’t even deign soul a proper response; she merely hums as she slowly turns her head away from their decorative jacket sleeve du jour to look over at her partner with a cheeky grin, her legs stretching out to the other end of the small couch. soul looks up at her non response, quirking an eyebrow at her before returning his attention back to the needle of the turntable, apparently deciding on a record while maka’s attention was elsewhere. "besides, regardless of the fact that i don’t care for moondiver, you can’t deny the art works well with what we usually decorate with. i’d love to decorate with the circling sun, but everything we own clashes horribly with their sleeve art."

"yeah, i can agree with the circling sun," maka says, ruffling soul’s hair briefly before settling her arm over his shoulder and onto his chest. "maybe we can find some new prints to match their weird galaxy theme?"

"absolutely not! we already have more art than we need in any capacity!"

maka’s responding giggle resounds through their small apartment, the perfect harmony to soul’s chosen jazz track.
