My Year in Review 2022! (template here)

I feel like I didn’t get to draw as much this year, what with vacation and surgery and holidays eating up the second half of 2022. But I feel like what I did achieve, I definitely improved. This year I decided to stop focusing on note-bait fanart that I wasn’t passionate about and focus on my own creations, even if it doesn’t really get seen much. This year I’ve also decided to start a webcomic! It’s in development and hopefully I get it rolling in 2023.

Caim Kamui (M!IK) vs Caim(o) (Maikai ouji)

In Makai ouji, Caim(o) is the son of Lucifer and Cassandra (the Trojan princess).  Apparently, along with his first birth-cry, he "sliced-up the assassin from Olympus" and, one month later, he could run "faster than a horse. He’s Half Demon and Half Human.

In Iruma, Caim is a bird demon with the power of understand any creature.

Demonology : Caim 

**In demonology, Camio (also spelled as Caim and Caym) is a President of Hell, having 30 legions of demons under his command. He is a good disputer and can give men the understanding of the voices of animals and the voices of waters, can give true answers concerning things to come. He is depicted as a thrush, but can change into a man with a sharp sword in his hand. When answering the summoner's question, he seems to be standing on burning ashes or coals. Camio's name seems to be taken from Cain - the First murderer according to the Bible**

In Makai Ouji: We learn that Camio has known every language even while he was still in his mother's womb

One of the key differences in Lucifer ( and what contributed to his pride ) was the concept of free will. Lucifer gained a strong sense of free-will that angels AREN’T supposed to have. Everything is supposed to be only for God, for Heaven, for orders, etc. They have some free will in that angels have likes and dislikes and things of that nature, but it tends to be a far more collective mindset so to speak. It’s for GOD’S will , for HEAVEN’S will. For Lucifer , it’s a very INDEPENDENT mindset. It’s what HE chooses and things, whether it agrees or disagrees with others and their ideas.

One of the many things that contributes to how Lucifer is different from the other angels in that he was often kept in the presence of God in the throne room. He was exposed to secrets and concepts and knowledge even Michael and other seraphs weren’t. Several different texts cite as Lucifer being surrounded by beautiful things that any mortal would desire, but he was almost exclusively kept to the throne room except for certain occasions such a dealing with problems or dances, and I personally include him in high ranking angel council meetings. As such, along with the constant exposure to God , the secrets and creations, the fact he was CREATED to be both wisest and most beautiful , Lucifer gained a sense of his own free-will beyond what God even knew of. And that free-will brought with it pride.

HE broke free. HE is his own being. He’s better than the others because he has his free-will ( and admittedly being more beautiful and created to be the best ). And that free will means he can change and choose to do what he wants , he can question things , have his own opinions. Independence. Independence that was never accounted for, never planned for.

And this is without even factoring in he’s the White Rider of the Apocolypse. Which , as Makai Ouji says , both serve God as his personal knights , but ALSO serve as a balance in that God cannot interfere with the Horseman (c. 91). It is why he couldn’t stop Lucifer from falling or act out, why Lucifer couldn’t be struck down when anyone else should be. It gave Lucifer divinity that could not be striped away or removed from him. Lucifer knew that and used it to his advantage to try to bring down Heaven, both in the rebellion as well as later when attempting to use Solomon’s soul to break his chains to God as a Horseman and as destroy God’s kingdom. He is destroying the current hierarchy , which he explicitly says when “ To put my role into words , it is to rid this world of God’s legacy. The world where God stands at the top will end , it will be reborn as a new kingdom with a new hierarchy. “ He sees his own plans for the Horseman, not just power balance.

Even fallen , he’s still chained in that he is a Horseman , and unlike the other 3 horsemen , he isn’t mortal. He is stuck with this burden as he exists unless he can escape. But his free will allows the manipulation of events by his hand like a game of chess. His free-will let him do these things , his greatest ‘ flaw ‘ was the free will , because the free-will led to his excessive pride , his own plans , his own thoughts and opinions.

                 the fact that michael had even been speaking to him was. . . astonishing in his eyes, to say the least. but, raphael wasn’t entirely sure he wanted company right now. they way most looked at him made him feel disgusted. either they stared with pity, or they stared with a disgust of their own. to the scars on his back until he was ready to get his wings back. he had an odd taste of how uriel felt since he lost his wing. 

                 long fingers tapped against his bicep as he stood by the window staring out to heaven. angels happily flying, fledglings playing together and clumsily learning how to flap their wings and soar in the clouds. ‘ you watched me fall chasing after him, ’ he whispered. there wasn’t any point in getting angry, but father above it was hard not to be lately. perhaps he was too corrupt from his time down in hell. maybe that happiness and innocence shattered since his wings burned up. 

                 emerald eyes finally tore away from the bright outside and instead into the dim lighting of his room, towards michael. ‘ don’t talk to me about loneliness, not when you let me fall after throwing him away. ’ a bitter smile formed on pale lips and he laughed. ‘ what? were you lonely because gabriel died and you had no one anymore? imagine us, being abandoned and thrown away by our home and our family - a choice I CERTAINLY DIDN’T MAKE, but was forced into because you just watched me. ’ 

                 a tut came from the click of his tongue and raphael turned back towards his window instead. ‘ leave, now. ’ before he decided to destroy every inch of his bedroom walls.

Story time about the time I accidentally evoked a demon while making anime fan art even though no one asked for it because it’s also a PSA.

(And it’s kinda funny lmao)

So I was around 14 and I was obsessed with anime. There was this one anime I discovered in a sort of a “weird” way. I blindly used to dabble in witchcraft every now and then around that time so I knew some basic scrying.

I was scrying one time and I got an oddly specific “message” letter by letter. It spelt the name “Makai” and I stopped before I could finish because I was busy. So flash forward, I looked up the name and it turned out to be an anime— Makai Ouji (it’s a brilliant masterpiece work of art anime, go watch it). I didn’t bother watching it until a while later.

It was such a fantastic anime and it dealt with demons and hell and basically Solomonic magick. When I watched it, I had no clue that the characters used in the anime were also the names of real demons so I’d blindly use them everywhere. “Ughhh Astar*th is my absolute favorite character” kinda thing lol.

So I was really into drawing at the time and I started making fan art for the anime. My dumb ass looked up the names of one of the main characters and was confused when it found sigils and stuff. That’s when I just shrugged it off and started drawing those sigils as part of my fan art (I HAD NO CLUE LMAO).

I drew the sigil of D*nteli*n after drawing his apparent figure as was shown in the anime and I kid you not, HE CAME. THE DEMON ACTUALLY FUCKING CAME.

And I know you’re all like “well a demon won’t come just if you draw their sigil or speak their name lmao” but I’m not shitting y’all. I’m not making this up for notes either, that demon WAS THERE.

I was a SUPER practical person at the time, and didn’t actually believe much in magic. I used to think all the scrying I was doing was just my imagination and whatnot but every little bit of that thought process went away when the spirit actually was in my room.

Okay so I didn’t “see” the spirit, but I knew he was there because I could feel it. I felt the whole room “looking” at me and even though it was summer, I felt chills running down my spine. I felt so much pressure and only one thought ran through my head, and the thought wasn’t even mine— the demon whose sigil I just drew was there.

So many crazy things had happened to me when I was younger because some people said that my house was haunted. I never believed any of them, I didn’t care for ghosts and spirits much. Like, literally, I saw some weird shit in that house but I would always rule it off as “oh it’s just gravity” but when I accidentally evoked that demon, I knew that spirits existed.

My mind was a CHAOS for some reason and I couldn’t even breathe so I just kept repeating “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” in my head and slowly, the spirit/daemon went away. I immediately closed the notebook I was drawing in.

Know that I hadn’t researched a lot about goetic demons and I’d drawn some of their sigils as a part of fan art before too but idk why at that time, the specific demon came.

So uh I guess that’s my story and PSA. A) watch Makai Ouji, it’s a FANTASTIC anime and amongst my favourites and B) DON’T DRAW SIGILS RANDOMLY lmao.

Like, at least do a protection prayer or something. And I just wanna thank D*nteli*n for not getting angry at me and forgiving my basic 14 year old self 🙏 ur a real one, chief. Now I don’t even utter the spirits’ names these days.

I was always disappointed by the lack of Michael&Lucifer content in devils and realist. So, here's Lucifer and Michael modern!au. If you're wondering why Lucifer is wearing a tank top, just know that originally he was shirtless.

When Lucifer's appearance was first revealed, I was annoyed at how little he resembled Michael. I only now realised how similar their bangs are. Its cute!
