E/riel logic
"The cauldron gave Elain and Lucien a "fake" mating bond for the most powerful off springs, but Elain and Azriel are true mates!"
Also e/riels:
"Azriel is WAY stronger than Lucien, he would destroy Lucien in a blood duel!"

One Thing that really pissed me off is the looks of the elven rings.
Water is BLUE.
Air as an element is usually WHITE.
WHY by Vana Is Vilya, the ring of Air Blue, and Nenya, the ring of water, White?????????
IT MAKES NO AESTHETICAL SENSE FFS

The more I learn about judaism the more I wonder where tf christianity got all its bad shit. Why is divorce a sin in christianity when judaism has recognized the right to divorce for nearly a millennia and has codified religious laws for it. Why does christianity consider sex to be dirty (to the point where puritans considered it a sin to enjoy having sex with your own spouse) when in judaism it's considered holy and it's a literal mitzvah to have sex with your spouse on the sabbath. Why does christianity consider it a sign that you're faithless if you question your religion when in judaism that's considered an essential part to developing your faith. I'm probably stating the obvious here but I still can't get over the fact that there's no historical basis to any of this shit before christianity started, it's like christians just said "hey guys what if we took the torah and built a new religion around it but this time it was actively hostile to human life"
#rambling#disclaimer this isnt about individual christians im speaking about the religious trauma i experienced in my own life etc etc#these are just a few examples that I've noticed but they're definitely something#the part about sex in particular shocked me bc sex is pretty much viewed as actively evil in a lot of christian denominations#like you should only do it to create children and if you take pleasure in it (even if its with your own spouse) youre a dirty sinner#there arent as many examples like this nowadays but if you read puritan laws about sex it's like#you're allowed to have sex with your wife basically 10 times a year but you have to be fully clothed with the lights off#and you cant have sex on a holiday or a sunday and you cant touch each other and you have to try as hard as possible to hate it#literally WHERE did that mindset come from?? like for real#in judaism having sex with your spouse is basically considered a celebration of everything holy#and if you have sex on the sabbath (the holiest day in the jewish calendar—above every holiday)#its considered TWICE as holy#make it make sense#this is one of the things people mean when they say that lumping judaism in with christianity as 'abrahamic' religions is meaningless#theyre literally nothing alike#the only similarity is the torah but thats only half of the christian bible and one third of the jewish one#AND christianity interprets most of it completely differently from how judaism does#im tired#greatest hits#hall of fame

Ok friends, this has bugged me for awhile now so help me solve it.
In LOTR we're giving two contradicting depictions of Elves and their horses: the Glorfindel approach and the Legolas approach.
In the Glorfindel approach, we're told through various references that he rides Asfaloth with a saddle, stirrups, and reins.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While in the Legolas approach, we're told instead that the "Elvish way with all good beasts" is to ride them with none of these items and direct them solely with the spoken word.
Tumblr media
So how do we square these, friends?
Extra points if you give me your unhinged headcanons about this in the replies/tags. I want to hear all about those.

they’re focusing so much on the war in ukraine during this year’s eurovision, russia isn’t allowed to participate, there’s even songs condemning war … but israel is still here? and people still support them? all of this while israel’s actions against palestinians include land seizures, killings, injuries, movement restrictions, denial of nationality, and other inhumane acts. accepting and supporting israel means you’re endorsing genocide and ethnic cleansing.

"transwomen are being segregated from women's restrooms, just like black men and women in the jim crow era" so... the violence and brutality suffered by black men and women in america - especially by black women - is the same as men in dresses not being able to go into the women's restroom?
"being a woman is more than just having a uterus and being able to have kids. infertile women are still women, just like transwomen!" so... the historical marginalization of infertile and childless women by men is the same as men in dresses not being able to go into the women's restroom? women who have lost their uteruses because of cancer, forced sterilization, or other reasons and who are struggling with the consequences (such as early menopause, pelvic floor issues, cognitive decline, and early onset dementia) are the same as men in dresses wanting to use the women's restroom?
"being a woman is more than just having a period. what about post-menopausal women? they're still women, just like transwomen!" so... women who have been historically viewed as "worthless" or "past their prime," who have essentially been discarded by society simply because they are women who happen to be older, are the same as men in dresses wanting to use the women's restroom?
"sex isn't just a binary, stop being so close-minded. what about intersex people?" so... intersex people, who have historically been mutilated and marginalized simply for being born with a genetic condition that is out of their control, are the same as men in dresses wanting to use the women's restroom?

The fact that Feyre finds it so absolutely abhorrent that Tamlin would tax citizens of the Spring Court who can’t afford it but sees no issue with Rhys legitimately leaving 90% of his court to rot under oppressive regimes because “change is slow” is absolutely fucking wild.

I find people who don’t understand asexuality so bizarre. Like, a vast majority of the world population can comprehend not being attracted to about half the people on the planet and knowing they never will be but as soon as someone’s not attracted to all of them they’re like idk, sounds sus. Are you sure? Have you exhausted every possible option here would you like to think about it a little longer

Hamas sympathisers will chant for the death of an entire nation, send anons saying that they wish more people were killed on Oct 7, vandalise and burn synagogues, rip down posters of kidnapped innocent children, threaten violence towards you tell you to kill yourself if you support Israel, and then somehow still think they’re the good guys.

Some people will really be able to deduce from the text that Harry has trust issues from his abusive childhood. Or completely invent justifications like “Bellatrix’s parents used the cruciatus on her as a child and that’s why she’s insane”. But if you bring up how Severus’s behaviour points to him having trauma, suddenly they want in-text, page reference, “where does it implicitly state that he has trauma” proof. What is it about Severus that sets haters off? There are far worse, truly villainous characters in this story that are treated like little meow meows. But point out that Severus is a damaged, complicated but ultimately good person, and they lose their stuffings.
