Yui: ( I completely lost track of time while busy finishing all of my duties for the day (1) )
( I’m hungry as well, so I better hurry home...Ah! )

Yui: ( Huh? I guess he didn’t hear me? )
ー Yui runs up to him
Yui: ...Ruki-kun?
Ruki: ...Aah, it’s you. My bad. I was a bit lost in thought.

Monologue
Ever since Karlheinz-san,
has passed away,
Ruki-kun’s started behaving somewhat oddly.
Of course, he considers him not just his life savior,
but also a father figure,
so we can hardly blame him for it...
However, I can’t help but feel,
that rather than him grieving over his death,
he seems distressed in some way.
Karlheinz-san’s overwhelming powers,
as well as the position of Vampire King,
right now...they have been entrusted to the Sakamaki brothers.
That might also be something,
which weighs down heavy on Ruki-kun’s mind.
Because the Mukami brothers,
were never even given the right,
to inherit his powers or the throne.
That was proven by the fact,
that they did not qualify,
to become Adam.
ーー Furthermore,
if you also consider the fact that I am Eve.
Then it only makes sense,
that it is my destiny to one day,
get together with whoever succeeds to become Adam amongst the Sakamaki brothers.
Yui: ( ...Still, I no longer intend to live my life as Eve. )
( It is the Mukami family who truly matters to me after all... )
Yuma: ーー Oh. Seems like he’s finally on his way.
Oi, don’t be spacin’ out now. Let’s go.
Yui: Y-Yeah...!

ー The scene shifts to the shopping district
Yuma: ...Is somethin’ goin’ on?

He stays away from home for extended periods of time more frequently than before. I will not deny that, however...

ー Kou suddenly shows up in front of her

The information we received,
was reported to him by his Familiars...
ーー As we speak, their old home Eden,
is at risk of falling into ruin.
The others were at a loss of words,
by this sudden revelation.
The current situation,
in which Karlheinz-san has passed away,
and his powers were inherited by his sons of the Sakamaki family,
is having its effects on Eden itself.
On top of that, it appears that this state of disarray,
has led the Founders amongst other Demon species,
to start making concrete plans,
to steal the sovereignty over the Demon World away from them.
ーー The Demon World is amidst a true crisis right now.
Yui: ...No way...
( I can’t believe that Eden, the place they spent so much time, is about to be lost. )
( On top of that...The Sakamaki brothers are being targeted by many other Demons, aren’t they? )
( What to do? )
Kou: ーー Don’t worry, M-neko-chan. I mean, it’s none of our concern, is it?
We don’t owe those guys anything, so we don’t need to worry about them either, right?

Ruki: I agree. However...
That place which was known to be the epicentre of all magic was truly a Paradise.
Knowing that someone might overtake and destroy it is just very difficult for me to accept...

Translation notes
(1) At Japanese schools, they often do not employ (many) janitorial or cleaning staff. Instead, the students themselves are in charge of cleaning the classrooms, wiping the blackboard after classes, taking documents to the faculty room, etc. This is called 日直 or ‘nicchoku’ which literally means ‘day-duty’. Every day or week, other students are in charge of doing these tasks.
(2) Ruki uses the term ‘aurora vision’, which refers to the large TV screens you will often see on the sides of skyscrapers and other high buildings in big Japanese cities. They usually broadcast commercials and such.

Sayo's Route: Maniac Epilogue
Sayo's Route Masterlist
-Sayo knocks on the door of the Mukami manor. Ruki opens the door
Sayo: Hey, Ruki. How have you been?
Ruki: I’ve been fine, thanks. I didn’t know you were coming over today.
Sayo: It was sort of last minute. Sorry Kou didn’t tell you…
Ruki: It’s fine. Would you like to join us for dinner? I was about to start cooking.
Sayo: Sure, if that’s alright with you.
Ruki: I’m sure the others will be happy you are joining us too. Kou is upstairs in his room, I believe.
Sayo: Thanks! I’m looking forward to your cooking. Do you want help? I’m sure Kou will be fine for a bit if so.
Ruki: Fufu…I’ll be fine, but thank you.
-Sayo goes upstairs and knocks on Kou’s door
Kou: Sayo-chan? Come in~!
-She opens the door. Kou is sitting on his bed, flipping through a magazine
Sayo: Whatcha looking at?
Kou: Wanna see? Come look with me!
-She sits down next to him. She recognizes it as a volume of a fashion magazine Rena used to read
Sayo: My friend liked these ones. She had a period like two years ago when she would buy clothes to try to match some of the outfits she saw in them.
Kou: Haha really? Have you ever done anything like that?
Sayo: Fufu…No, I didn’t have the money for shopping sprees. I was raised in a church, after all.
Kou: Hm? Really?
Sayo: Have I really never told you about that?
Kou: Nope, I never would have guessed.
Sayo: Well, I was rarely there. The nuns had an issue with the way I acted. They tried discipline at first, but it only made me want to rebel more, so they gave up and wanted me out of the way after a while. So I spent all my free time away from the church. I was usually with my friends, but I would also go to places like the library a lot when they were busy.
Kou: So did your parents work there?
Sayo: No, I’m an orphan. I don’t know anything about my parents. Just that they abandoned me there when I was a baby.
Kou: Really…?
Sayo: Yeah. Are you surprised?
Kou: A little…You probably don’t know either, but I met Ruki, Yuma, and Azusa at an orphanage…We aren’t blood related.
Sayo: But they’re still your brothers…The people you choose as your family can be stronger than actual blood ties. I feel the same way about my friends back home.
Kou: Even though you don’t live there anymore?
Sayo: Absolutely. We’ve always been there for each other. That makes them family in my book. Maybe I see it that way because I don’t have parents or anything like that, but still.
-Kou smiles, taking her hand in his
Kou: I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. The four of us probably understand it better than anyone else could…

-There’s a knock on Kou’s bedroom door
Azusa: Kou…Ruki says dinner is ready.
Kou: Coming!
-The two get up to join Azusa

Sayo: Hi, Azusa.
Azusa: You’re joining us…for dinner?
Sayo: Yeah, Ruki invited me.
Azusa: That…makes me happy.
-The three walk down to the dining room. Ruki has already set out the food. He and Yuma are waiting
Yuma: Hey, Sayo. Ruki didn’t say you were coming.
Ruki: You didn’t gather that from the extra seating arrangement?
Yuma: Che…
Sayo: Fufu…Hey, Yuma. Hope you guys don’t mind me crashing dinner.
Yuma: ‘Course not. Ya ask me, you should come ‘round more often.
Kou: Yeah! You aren’t here nearly enough!
Sayo: I am trying to come more often. It’s just a question of when I can sneak away and if someone comes to drag me back…
Ruki: You know you are more than welcome. Just don’t put yourself in danger. I heard you had to stop Ayato and Laito from getting into a fight with Kou the other day.
Sayo: Well, yeah…but that was nothing. I stepped in before it could get dangerous.
Kou: I wouldn’t have let her get hurt in the first place!
Yuma: You better not.
Sayo: Fufu…You sound like a protective older brother, Yuma.
Yuma: Hehe…Ya think?
Kou: You’re mine, so he basically is, you know? You pretty much have three older brothers now~
Azusa: Having a little sister…? Fufu…How nice…
Ruki: Fufu…She is a rather troublesome little sister, isn’t she?

(Three older brothers, huh…? That doesn’t sound too bad…)
Sayo: Hey, who says I’m troublesome?
Kou: Ahaha! You’ve been trouble ever since we met you!

Ruki: I do believe the Sakamakis would agree you have been causing them trouble with how you have been talking to us as well, don’t you think?
Sayo: You didn’t have to bring them into this…It’s not my fault they want to be possessive.
-The four brothers exchange glances before chuckling
Sayo: I don’t even want to know what just happened…
Kou: It’s totally your fault that they’re possessive, Sayo-chan. But it’s adorable how clueless you are~
-He pats her head a few times, but she swats away his hand
Sayo: Hey! I’m not clueless.
Azusa: Fufu…It is cute…
Kou: Right?
Sayo: Ugh…
Ruki: Fufu…Get used to it. This is how brothers are.
Sayo: Haah…You guys are lucky you’re easy to get along with.

Okay okay if at any point the relationship between Yuma and Ayato/Subaru starts getting romantic who is gonna have to be the one to ask the other(s) out, cause it seems like Subaru and Ayato would really wanna ask Yuma out and would maybe even fight about it, but can't bring their selves to do it. But Yuma's also oblivious to his feelings so it could take a while for him to realise that he likes them. But another way it could go is if either Subaru or Ayato told the other their gonna try and ask Yuma out and it develops into a argument about whos gonna get him but Yuma ends up overhearing them and BOOM asks them both out with him. So now there are two more questions:
1. Where is gonna be their first date? And whos idea it was?
2. What will the Sakamaki and Mukami brothers gonna think about this new relationship? I can imgaine Ruki getting really annoyed because Ayato and Subaru are gonna be over at the Mukami house every single fucking day and when they aren't there they are out somewhere together doing dumb things.
so here's what usually happens when I'm daydreaming about these three >:3
before they can think about calling them "dates," ayato and subaru have some excuses for hanging out with yuma all the time. for instance, they like watching him work (both in the school garden and like, hypothetically, if yuma got a part time job or something then they'd spend way too much time there lol...like, they'd save up their allowance to buy food there....anyway) so they'll be like "no, it's just a coincidence, we always eat lunch here! it's not just to see you or anything!"
I also imagine that they've got a little study group on, which seems kind of out of character, right? none of these characters really enjoy studying. but subaru's a first year and the sakamaki baby brother, so if yuma and ayato find out that he's struggling in school, despite their own subpar grades I bet they'd be like "well I'm your upperclassman / older brother so it's my duty to help out, leave it to us!!" ...but of course, I don't think much studying actually occurs in these little sessions lol. I can picture reiji being like "you asked yuma and ayato to help you study? .......................why?" so I love this headcanon lol
so up till now, when everything they've been doing can pass as just friends hanging out, basically everything has been ayato or yuma's idea. but the shocking thing is, when they finally do something that can be called a DATE, I feel that subaru caused it.......on accident. he did his best to think of something he wanted to do with them, and he definitely thought about it with romantic feelings for yuma in mind, so when he suggests that they go out and do this thing together...subaru's really nervous, he's blushing, he's probably saying some obvious tsundere shit like "it wont be a DATE or anything..." so........nobody can really deny it anymore, this is gonna be a date.
hmm, what kind of date would subaru plan with yuma in mind? I feel like it definitely should be outside bc they're both people who enjoy the outdoors. subaru is kind of clumsy with this sort of thing, so I think it'd be sweet if he picked some obscure place in the woods to take a walk, but then they get lost ^^; ayato and subaru have a shouting match about it, blaming each other, and yuma saves the day because he brought lunch for the three of them so they end up having a picnic. it'd be a nice excuse to show them subaru's disney princess qualities as well lol. all 3 of them would see a frog and be like "WHOA LOOK AT THAT" so I think it would be fun!

watch me FAIL lmao. This one is LONG. And I hope I did it justice. Rukia’s a lot closer to her personality when she’s with Ichigo & the others. And Ichigo is a sweetheart someone pls love him (besides me)
From a young age, whenever Rukia went to visit her grandfather in the summer, she knew never to go to the Urahara Manor. It was just something that you didn’t do. When she was allowed out to play with the other children, they would always dare each other to go and touch the front gate of the Urahara Manor, and some would report back saying they heard a noise or saw a figure, and that would cement Rukia’s fear even more.
There was something about that place that made her senses act up. And it was on her way home, so she would pass by it. Normally, she would uphold the Kuchiki Ideals. Walk, not run, through anything that scared you. But now, she only ran. She knew Renji wouldn’t tell on her. They would make a game of it—whoever ran past the Manor the fastest had to by the other ice cream next time.
Rukia hadn’t bought Renji one single ice cream.
But today, Renji and the other kids couldn’t play something about summer homework. And Grandpa Ginrei had given Rukia money to buy ice cream on that hot summer day for them both, hoping that she’d hurry before his son got back and scolded them for not doing any of Rukia’s extravagant list of activities. Rukia had the two ice creams—an ice cream sandwich for her grandfather and a weird looking character ice cream for herself—in hand as she walked by the house, excited to eat, when she heard it.
“I-I-Is someone there?” Her little voice quaked with fear. She was across the street, but the cries sounded like they were only a foot or so away from her. Despite everything, Rukia took slow steps across the empty street and stood in front of the house. “H-H-Hello?”
The street in front of the Urahara Manor was mostly deserted. The town was about a mile in the direction Rukia came and her own home was about a quarter mile away from this place. All the other houses were rundown around it.
“Why won’t anybody play with me?” The voice, much clearer, cried. Rukia peered in through the gates. A young girl, about her age stood there, hands rubbing against her eyes as she cried.
“You have a scary house.” Rukia blurted out before she could stop herself, then slapped her hand against her mouth. The girl pauses, looking up at Rukia. Her eyes are red and puffy, but lighter than her bright red hair. “U-Uh, I’m… I gotta go.”
“Wait!” The girl reaches out, running towards the gate and slams into it. The look on her face is pleading. “Y-You can hear me?”
Rukia tilts her head. “Y-Yeah?” She says, blinking. “You’re talkin’ real loud. Crying loud too.”
“D-Do you wanna play with me?” The girl asks, hope filling her silver eyes and Rukia almost says yes, then she feels the ice cream dripping down her hand.
“I can’t!” She yelps, which startles the girl into falling back. “B-But, tomorrow! Tomorrow I’ll come back!”
“You promise?” The girl stands again. Rukia nods, sticking her pinky through the bars of the gate.
“Yeah, pinky promise. You do it like this.” Rukia gestures for the girl to copy her, which she does, “I pinky promise to come back tomorrow or I’ll stick a thousand needles in my armpits! Or that’s what Renji says anyway.” The girl giggles, wiping excess tears from her eyes.
“Then it’s a promise.” The girl grins.
“I’m Rukia.” Rukia finally says, pulling away.
“Hoshiko.”
Rukia awakes with a jolt, sitting up and startling her maid. Momo jumps, almost dropping the tea tray she had been carrying. “L-Lady Rukia!” She yelps, her eyes wide, “Is everything alright?”
“Yes,” Rukia replies, her voice breathless, “I just… I had a dream—more like a memory, I guess.”
“Oh?” Momo puts the tea try down on the cart, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. “Is it the nerves?”
“Maybe,” She replies, “I dreamt about the summer home, when we would visit Grandfather Ginrei. And my friends from that town.”
“Hm,” Momo hummed, “Your husband-to-be is from that town, so maybe it resurfaced some memories. It has been some time since you’ve been there, right?”
“Yes,” Rukia finally pushed back the duvet and swung her feet over the edge, “Grandfather became too sick to live on his own when I turned sixteen. We haven’t been there since, now I am twenty-one.”
Momo pours Rukia’s tea while Rukia herself moves around the room, opening the curtains and windows, letting in the fresh air. “Well, today is a happy day, is it not?”
“It’s certainly a sunny one.” Rukia replies. Her fingers pause on the back of her sitting chair. “Momo,” Momo looks up, setting down the tea pot. “Do you think I’ll like him?”
“He seems very likable.” Momo replied, “From all the stories I’ve heard… it seems he has an easy time befriending people.”
Rukia feels a ghost of a touch on her skin, and in her mind, she sees red hair and a bright smile. Somehow, she doesn’t think she’ll like her suitor much.
Her dress is large, nearly taking up more room than it should as she stares out the window for the tenth time. Her grandfather chuckles, sipping at his mid-morning tea while Rukia huffs, sitting down on the sofa. “Are you hoping, perhaps, they’ve gotten lost?”
“If I said that, Byakuya-nii-sama would surely had my head.” Rukia replies, “So instead of saying it, I shall think it and think it loudly.” At this, Ginrei laughs, and one of the attendants enters the room, “They’re pulling their carriage around to the front!”
Rukia tenses, her hands freezing where they are and her eyes go wide. “I was just as nervous,” Ginrei says, “Meeting your grandmother. Though, we did come to love each other.”
“I’m already in love.” Rukia blurts out, then slaps her hands against her mouth. Ginrei chuckles.
“I know. As was I, at that time.” Ginrei sounds wistful, and the look on his face is far off. “Maybe you should make yours eternal.”
Byakuya is already outside when Ginrei and Rukia arrive. The carriage pulls to a stop and it’s quiet for a moment, before the door is slammed open and a boy flies out, landing right at Rukia’s feet.
“Guys, we’re supposed to be making a good first impression.” Another voice says. Rukia notes that the horses aren’t startled and the driver looks bored.
“My son should be more prepared to meet his new fiancé! Instead he’s playing around!” At this, two more people come falling out of the carriage. A large man with facial hair and a much younger man with glasses, dressed in white. Two girls follow him, then another man, much larger and tanner than the rest. And then finally, another girl.
Before she can get a clear look at the girl, the boy on the ground finally stands up, blocking Rukia’s view of her. He is tall and well-built and his bright orange hair is exactly as she’d imagined it and Rukia blinks. He acts as if he hadn’t been tossed five feet from a carriage. Really, the only thing noting he had been tossed was probably the dirt marks on his clothing. “Sorry about this lot. I’m Ichigo Kurosaki. You’re Rukia?”
“Yes.” Rukia finally says, “R-Rukia…. Um, Kuchiki. Please to make your acquaintance.” She bows and he laughs.
“We’re to be married, but you act so distant. I hope we’ll be good friends.” Ichigo then says, “I brought my entourage, I hope this is alright?” He turns to Byakuya who merely nods. “That’s my dad and sisters, that’s Uryu, and that’s Sado, and the girl is—“
“Hoshiko.” Rukia breathes out, startling Ichigo.
“Er, yeah, do you know each other?” He steps out of the way when Hoshiko comes barreling towards them and slams into Rukia, sending them both to the ground.
“Rukia! Rukia! I was so worried when you didn’t come back! I thought you hated me!” The girl cries, hands gripping onto Rukia’s dress.
“Of course I don’t hate you!” Rukia yelps back, “I could never! I’m sorry I didn’t say anything to you when we left.”
“I’m so glad we’re reunited!” Hoshiko cries, sitting up and pulling Rukia with her. She then hugs Rukia around the neck, “Don’t leave like that again!”
“Not to, um, break this up,” Ichigo cuts in, “But, Hoshiko, how do you know Rukia—er, Lady Rukia?” Hoshiko pulls away for a moment, standing and pulling Rukia with her, though she doesn’t let go of the girl at all.
‘Rukia’s a friend of mine from childhood. I met you guys the summer she stopped coming to Karakura Town.’ Rukia watched, puzzled at the hand movements Hoshiko made.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Lady Rukia, friend of Hoshiko.” Ichigo finally says, though it sounds a little odd to Rukia. Hoshiko looks at him, and Ichigo nods, “Let us have fun tonight.”
“I’m confused.” Rukia says at the banquet that night. She and Ichigo are dancing across the ballroom floor. “What was Hoshiko doing with her hands? All that.. stuff, and how you guys did it back or... just spoke.=”
“You don’t know?” Ichigo raises an eyebrow. “She was signing. It’s what people who can’t hear or speak—or don’t want to speak—do to communicate.”
“Hoshiko can speak just fine.” Rukia argues, her eyes gliding across the room to where Hoshiko dances with Ichigo’s father. The two laugh as he spins her around much more aggressively than any other dancing pair. “I’ve heard her voice, it’s lovely. She can sing as well, and that’s divine.”
“She can’t.” Ichigo says, “She had a disease at birth, which muted her for life. I don’t know how you manage to figure out everything she’s saying when she doesn’t speak.”
“Because she is speaking.” Rukia gets a little louder, before coughing and lowering her voice. Her cheeks tinge pink and she looks down.
“They say,” Ichigo changes the subject, “That how you know someone is your soulmate… you’re able to hear their voice even when they don’t speak. Like some kind of mind connection or something.”
Rukia hums, but Ichigo continues speaking, “When I saw you two in the garden earlier, all I heard was you speaking—and Hoshiko wasn’t signing. She was just sitting there, listening and nodding and making wild gestures. It made me really think about my decision tonight. I knew there was nothing else I could do.”
“Decision?” Rukia echoes. Ichigo nods and they stop near the middle of the dance floor, coincidentally near Hoshiko and Ichigo’s father. “What do you mean?”
“I’m breaking off the engagement.” Ichigo says loudly, and without preamble. The look of shock on Rukia’s face is enough to make Ichigo laugh. He motions Hoshiko over and breaks away from Rukia. “I’d very much rather not fight Hoshiko for your hand in marriage. So, it was nice meeting you, Lady Rukia, but I’ll take my chances elsewhere.”
Ichigo bows to her, before signing at Hoshiko and then walking away with his father. Hoshiko takes Rukia’s hands and they begin dancing as if they had never stopped. “Ichigo’s always like that, don’t mind him.” Hoshiko grins, “He’ll find someone someday. Did you know this was his third broken engagement? That’s why I was surprised when such a noble house sent a letter.”
“To be honest, it’s because I’ve had just as many broken engagements.” Rukia replies, “I must confess, Hoshiko, I have often thought about you and longed to return to you.” The words make both of the girls blush and Hoshiko looks away.
“I was supposed to be the one laying down all of these cheesy lines.” Hoshiko pouts, then laughs. “I wonder if your brother will allow this. If he is looking for benefits, House Urahara has much to offer. I handle business with many people from different lands and my father is a very bright inventor. We have many allies and much to offer.”
“I don’t care if he doesn’t.” Rukia surprised herself. What surprised her even more was that she meant it. “I want to be with you, I… I love you, Hoshiko.”
“And I love you, Rukia.”

How would S and M boys react if their S/O's feeling weak because she can't eat and haven't eaten for 2-3 days....(I know it sounds weird but I wanna know💖)
You said ‘can’t eat’,, so I’m assuming the s/o doesn’t really have a choice? I’m sorry if I got that wrong, but thank you for requesting!
Sakamaki’s:
Shu: “…Why can’t you eat? Can’t you at least drink something, then..?” He’s concerned,, but tries not to act like it. As long as they can’t die,, he’s fine, although he is pretty worried. He’ll make them laze around with him,, seeing as they’re so weak right now.
Reiji: “Hm.. That’s not good at all. I may have something you can take to help you, though.” Doesn’t actually care that much, but will make sure to keep an eye on them. He doesn’t want them doing things that involves using strength, but if they want to, he’s not going to stop them. He might give them a potion or some sort of medicine that he made to help them, but it’s their choice if they want it or not.
Ayato: “Ugh, that’s really annoying, you know! Why can’t you eat anything?! Are you doing it on purpose so I can’t suck your blood?!” ..He’s mad? He doesn’t really understand why, and it’s not like he’s going to stop drinking from them until they eat, but he’s going to have to cut down a bit, and he knows that, too. That’s why he’s so aggravated. He might try and force them to drink something that’ll help them.
Kanato: “Why..? Don’t lie to me, and just eat something, stupid. What do you want, cake? Pudding?” He thinks they’re lying to him, and will make them eat something. He’s like Ayato, and thinks that they’re not eating on purpose, just so he has to be careful about sucking their blood, but he doesn’t care. He’ll try to completely drain them, stopping just before they can die, because he’s really upset that they’re so much weaker, and ‘that’s their punishment’.
Laito: “Aw, that’s unfortunate, Bitch-chan~ Then do you need me to take care of you~? You know I’d love to~” I mean, he’s kind of curious on why,, but he doesn’t ask them, and pretends as if he doesn’t care. Offers to help them if they need anything, and even offers some extra.. ‘comfort’.
Subaru: “You can’t eat? ..That’s stupid.. Why? You have to eat, don’t you?” Doesn’t want to seem like he cares,, but he does. If his s/o mentions it, he just says he only cares about their blood,, but that’s not true. He’s confused, but won’t force them to eat anything unless he feels like they’re going to die. He helps them if they need anything, but constantly uses the ‘only caring about blood’ thing as an excuse.
Mukami’s:
Ruki: “Why is that, Livestock? You can’t eat anything at all? What happens if you do? You can still drink, correct?” …aw,, he’s being kind of nice! It annoys him a little bit, but it’s his job, as a master, to take care of his livestock. And he tells them that. Which is nice? I guess? He’ll take care of them, and will make sure that everything’s okay.
Kou: “…That doesn’t even make sense. You have to eat, M Neko-chan! Who said that you couldn’t?!” Kou,, and probably the rest of the Mukami’s, think that food is important. Especially for humans, like his s/o. (I’m assuming so, anyways) He’s confused, but is also really annoyed about it.
Yuma: “Why can’t you eat? What happens if you do? I’m sure a little bite of somethin’ won’t hurt ya, right? ..Seriously, sow, you’ve gotta eat something.” He makes them eat something. Anything. He’ll even make, or buy, their favorite food for them, he doesn’t care. He seems desperate, but it really bothers him, and not just because he’s worried about their blood.
Azusa: “(Y/N)-san… Why..? I bet it hurts, too… Is that why you’re not eating..? I’ll hurt you if you do, okay..? So please eat something..” He doesn’t really understand why, but he wants them to eat. He’ll go easy on them, not cutting them very often, because he doesn’t want them to get too weak, but he’ll make sure to make up for it after they finally eat something.

── Right now, what are you into?
Yuma: A scoop, that my hands gotten familiar with. When it comes to taking care of my vegetation, if I can’t get used to the tools, I get irritated after all. The (scoop) I’m using now is really great, and isn’t spoiled or anything. I’m into it.
── What in your fashion are you particular about lately?
Yuma: I don’t have anything I’m particular about... stuff that’s easy to move about in is the best after all. Also, stuff that isn’t hard to breathe in. For clothes that have buttons, I won’t button all the way up. I’m big-sized, so finding clothes for me is the hardest thing.
── What habits do you have that you’ll do without realising?
Yuma: Ah... Ruki told me to stop this. I tend to chew on my thumb. I sort of realise it, but I can’t seem to correct this habit...
── How do you spend your off-days?
Yuma: I take care of my vegetables, and as I’m doing it, my off-day just ends at once. Even if I do go out, it’s just to go out and buy fertilizer or something. If it rains, I’m fine not working and just staying inside the house.
── What do you wear to sleep?
Yuma: Previously, I was going to sleep without wearing anything above, then Kou said something like, “I knew it”, and stopped me. So recently, I’ll simply throw on a T-shirt or jersey. Well, if it’s just to sleep in, anything goes.
── What do you definitely do before sleeping?
Yuma: I don’t have anything I definitely do. I go with the day. Usually, I’ll bathe, then brush my teeth... ah, but once I wake up, I’ll water the plants in my room. But they don’t really need that much water, so it’s just a bit.
── What is one part of your body that you like best?
Yuma: My arm. I have the most arm strength among us brothers, and if it comes to fights, I won’t lose. I usually also play the role of being the one to lift all the heavy stuff. Isn’t it great that my body’s okay no matter what I do?
── What’s something you like in your room?
Yuma: Right by the side of my bed are some viewing plants. To be able to wake up and see green, it makes my mood good. Also, when I’m in my room, I usually just roll around on my bed, so I’m able to see my (plants) regularly.
── Tell us one memorable impression that you have of your brothers.
Yuma: Ah? Right... last time, I don’t know what happened to Azusa or what he did, but he wouldn’t stop crying. In the end, I stuffed one of my sugar-chans into his mouth, and he was so surprised he smiled. Except, I can’t remember why I decided to do that at all.
── What do you think of Karlheinz?
Yuma: I respect him, and remember him as somebody amazing. To pick up someone like me and to give me a new life to walk upon. I’m not smart and I can’t do complicated things...but, as long as he wishes for it, I’ll do anything.
── Where will you go if going on a date?
Yuma: Mm... the botanic gardens will be nice. I don’t really grow that many flowers, so I can learn things there too. And when time passes, the atmosphere will change, won’t it? It’s good for a date.
── What does a girl do that makes your heart skip a beat?
Yuma: When she passes by and waves her hand. Somehow, if she’s (giving small waves), I think it’s cute. I don’t know about the others guys, but like this? When she looks up? When I see her do that innocently while waving her hand, somehow it makes me excited.
── How does her blood taste?
Yuma: It's super delicious. Like this; hot and sweet, with a deep after-taste. The taste may change, but that’s good in itself. If I pop a sugar-chan in after, I wonder how it’ll taste? Hehe...
── Which part do you like to suck from best?
Yuma: From the waist, how do I say this, then up the back... I’ll like something like that. When you suck like that, it’s interesting to be able to see her tremble. Sometimes when it spills and you lick it up, she also gives a good reaction.
── What is her existence to you?
Yuma: What is it... so you wanna hear it again huh? Ah...in any way, so long she’s by my side smiling, I’m somehow relived. I used to think everything is troublesome with her last time, but now if she’s not nearby, I can’t take it. DIMLIM’s GEKIROCK interview - English translation
DIMLIM is the new band of former D.I.D. member Issei, and former Deviloof member, Ryuya. Although the full-fledged start hasn't come yet, the music video for Awarewata, which was published along with the band’s information on April 2nd, has already reached 140,000 views. While they are getting ready for their starting oneman live on June 3rd, which is also the release day of their live-limited mini album, VARIOUS, Gekirock interviewed the members of DIMLIM, the band that's gaining more and more attention from both overseas and Japan.
－ Please tell us about DIMLIM's background. Did the band form around former D.I.D. member, Issei, and former Deviloof member, Ryuya as the core?
Issei: No, that's not how it went. Retsu was the support guitarist for D.I.D. Through the members’ introduction came Sho, then since Retsu and Ryuya were friends, I was like, “feel free to invite him.” A long time passed after that and Tsubasa joined finally.
－ Since you have a djent/metalcore/progressive sound with prominent technical parts, when you searched for the members did you emphasize on their skills?
Issei: Not really. (lol) I was like, “we will make it work somehow”.
－ Do you have a leader in the band?
Issei: We haven't decided on anyone.
Tsubasa: We haven't decided, but Issei has kind of a leader presence.
Issei: More like boss. (lol)
－Who is the main composer, who puts the songs together?
Issei: That's me.
－ D.I.D. also had and electronic sound to it, are you following the same path?
Issei: Yeah, I took a lot from D.I.D.
－ What software do you use?
Issei: Pro Tools.
－ Sho, Tsubasa what were you doing before joining DIMLIM?
Tsubasa: I was in a different visual kei band. I wasn’t playing the type of music I wanted to, also I couldn’t feel the enthusiasm in the members beside the drummer, so he and I departed. At that time I met these members by chance, and since it was the type of music I wanted to make, also everyone around me was motivated plus I liked D.I.D. too. I was drawn to this band, I had to join.
Sho: I’ve never been in a band before. DIMLIM is my first band.
－ It’s surprising. Your vocalization is versatile and skillful. This is our first interview so I’m going to ask you about your musical backgrounds. Sho, what kind of music have you been listening to?
Sho: When I was a kid, I listened to female singers, like Kohmi Hirose or Maki Ohguro but then around middle school I started listening to DIR EN GREY and I’ve been into them ever since.
－ So you got influenced by Kyo from DIR EN GREY?
Sho: Yes. I’ve always tried to copy him. I would really like Kyo to see us live.
－ How did you practice before joining DIMLIM?
Sho: I practiced in the bath all the time. (lol)
－ Ryuya, last time we did an interview (2016 August issue) you listed bands like PERIPHERY, MEMPHIS MAY FIRE as your favourites, right?
Ryuya: If we are talking about bands from overseas, yes. As for Japanese bands, I love lynch. In my student years, I used to play in an emocore/screamo band so I like bands like TAKEN too. Beside these, I listen to a lot of minor heavy bands that none of the members listen to from both overseas and Japan. It’s hard to explain, but I also listen to the type of music that’s played in live houses between performances. Like XXYYXX.
－ What about you, Retsu?
Retsu: My dad was really into music, so influenced by him, in my elementary school years, I was listening to stuff like BACKSTREET BOYS, HOOBASTANK, BON JOVI. Although I was just getting a taste of them occasionally I did listen to these artists. In middle school, I got into the GazettE, and from there I was obsessed with them. RUKI is a god. Still in middle school, at that time I thought the GazettE was the most intense band on the world but then I came across BRING ME THE HORIZON and I was like “Holy shit”. From there I got into more western hardcore bands. I really like ERRA and PERIPHERY. However, the band that influenced me the most is the GazettE. I want to listen to them even when I die.
－ Have you listened to BALLAD BEST ALBUM TRACES Vol.2 that they released recently (2017 March)?
Retsu: Of course, I bought it. It’s AMAZING. I couldn’t bear listening to only previews on YouTube, so I found myself getting an iTunes card and I ended up buying all the songs……(lol)
－ It’s a great album. What about you, Tsubasa?
Tsubasa: Originally I liked game music. By people like Nobuo Uematsu or Motoi Sakuraba. Uematsu worked on the Final Fantasy series, Sakuraba worked on Baten Kaitos. In elementary school, I listened to a lot of music from games and from that I moved on to anime songs and vocaloid. After that from middle school, I started playing instruments as a hobby, therefore I started listening to X JAPAN, and it’s still my favourite band.
－ Although you’ve been chasing behind in generations, you knew about X.
Tsubasa: Yeah. It’s because it’s not about generations. (lol) TAIJI is my favourite bassist, so I checked his musical roots. Although I’m playing in a band like this, when it comes to hardcore music, I listen to PERIPHERY and POLYPHIA etc. but I’m not too familiar with them. I would say there are a lot of hard rock, heavy metal and punk bands from the 80s and 90s that I listen to. From around middle school, I did covers of bakateku (technical) bands like DREAM THEATER, Mr.BIG, LOUDNESS, X etc. and thanks to that, I think I managed to catch up with the technical parts. I got obsessed with visual kei along the way. There’s only a few bandmen in the scene who like visual kei, but I actually do. Even bands that I play with at events, if I like their music I will check them out on YouTube.
－ Is there a visual kei band you particularly like lately?
Tsubasa: I like MORRIGAN. They are great and we will play with them so I’m looking forward to that.
－ When it comes to extremely intense bands, NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST represents visual kei. What do you think about them?
Tsubasa: I think they are awesome. I would like to surpass them whatever it takes.
－ I see. What about you, Issei?
Issei: At first my mom liked a pianist called Richard Clayderman, so I thought “I wanna go see him live” and so I went to my first concert. Though I slept through it. (lol) Then, my mom had DAHLIA (released in 1996, 4th album) by X JAPAN, maybe I just liked the piano but I occasionally listened to that CD. After that I got into DIR EN GREY and wanted to be in a band.
－ Richard Clayderman? Did you learn how to play the piano?
Issei: I was taught when I was little, but after like 3 years, I started whining because it was too painful and I quit. Now, I can’t even play “Neko funjatta”. (lol)
－ Is it you who comes up with the riffs too?
Issei: I do make something that would become the foundation, but I think it’s better if a guitarist does the arrangement so I leave that to them.
－ Next, I would like to ask you about the 3 songs you released from the mini album, VARIOUS. First of all, what’s the tuning?
Issei: It’s drop G# on a 7 string guitar. It was like this even in D.I.D. so we thought we are gonna keep that.
－ In Aharewata (track 1) at the end of the interlude, the guitar chords change considerably, right? Isn’t that hard to play?
Ryuya: To be fair, this song is full of difficult parts. (lol)
Tsubasa: In Aharewata, the bass line is full of unisons as well, like in the verse that “diririririri” part is unison too, so it makes you think “what the hell?!” (lol)
－ I think often in loud rock or metal, the bass gets buried under all the down tunings, but with DIMLIM, the bass actually stands out, there are a lot of striking parts and it’s really cool in my opinion.
Tsubasa: Indeed, if we compare it to other heavy bands, maybe we emphasize more on the bass. X JAPAN too, made the bass stand out in their music.
－ Please tell me about the lyrics for Aharewata which also has a music video on YouTube.
Sho: All throughout this album, the main topic of the lyrics is “about love”. Self-love, love towards partners, love towards parents….. I would like to write about various kinds of love. About Aharewata, when I wrote the lyrics I was thinking about the best way to show “love” towards another person, according to my concept, “ingesting” our partner is not the ultimate level of love. Though my intention is not to decide that. The MV shows it in a grotesque way, but I wanted to have people look at it from different directions.
－ We can say the interpretation is left to the listener, right? If we translate the English part, we get something close to scatological fetishism.
Everyone: Scatology. (lol)
Sho: Indeed. (lol) Cannibalism, right? With psychotic feelings. That’s the ultimate thing in my opinion.
－ Did you get influenced by psycho, cannibalistic movies maybe?
Sho: I love movies. Like Silence of the Lambs (1991), Hannibal (2001). Really old anime but for example Shoujo Tsubaki (1992). Also The Holy Mountain (1988)
－ It’s a really shocking music video but were there any notable moments while recording it?
Sho: The guy who appears in it went to buy liver and even though it was raw, he bit into it……
Ryuya: When they said “Liver please!” that was the funniest part. (lol)
Tsubasa: He sacrificed himself to act for us.
－ When it comes to vocals, what’s the most difficult part in DIMLIM?
Sho: The low shouts. They are hard to execute live.
－ The last part in Aharewata where the vocals gradually get higher slightly like an opera seems difficult too.
Sho: Oh, yeah that’s also hard. (lol)
Issei: This much is gonna work! - I thought while I came up with it. (lol)
－ It’s almost sadistic. (lol) But it sounds great.
Tsubasa: In the studio it comes out perfectly, but at lives he doesn’t have enough experience and I guess he’s also nervous.
Sho: Oh, the main point is how you open up your throat before the live, isn’t it? I’m trying to flex and stuff. (lol)
－「虚妄の歌」Kyomou no uta (Song of delusion) is an amazing song too, sounds like it would shine live.
Issei: Yes. I made this fast song while keeping the lives in my mind.
－ It’s not credited on the official site, but is it on the album?
Issei: Kyomou no uta is not on this record. We plan to release it next time. It was the first song we made so we recorded it regardless.
－ When reading the lyrics to Kyomou no Uta, I thought 'were these lyrics written with visual kei fans, the so-called bangya in mind?' So what are your thoughts on that?
Sho: There, it was a bit intentional but it was about bullying. All of our songs are dark, but I wanted to write something that was dark from within myself as a theme. Since I was bullied during my childhood, I thought of the lyrics with that in mind. “Everyone wants to be saved, isn't that right?” I had a lot of thoughts like this while writing. When in times like those, you run to self-love. You protect yourself. I tried to strongly show that side of the song.
－ I see. For Sho, is your love for yourself strong?
Sho: No, that's not the case.
－ So you wanted to write about self-love more critically.
Sho: Yes. Because I get into a give up mode.
－ Were there any bullying specific to social media in the background too?
Sho: Yes, that too. Also, in the classroom there are rankings too aren't there?
－ The part about hierarchy in the lyrics, right?
Sho: I had the class rankings in my mind. I think each listener will see a different setting. Whether it's the workplace, amongst bangya, or between friends. I think people ask “among them, is there anyone who's going to save me?” a lot.
－ That definitely does seem true. From an outsider's perspective, the hierarchy of visual kei fans seems very peculiar.
Sho: That really seems to be the case.
－ THE INVISIBLE (track 2) has a bit of an American feel to it, it reminds me of bands like Slipknot.
Issei: I thoughtlessly took 2-3 hours to make this song. There's a bit of an emo feel to it. It's frank and easy to move along to.
－ It's true that the rhythm is straightforward. As it's the impression of DIMLIM's sound, you've skillfully implemented dissonance. Since there's the concept of consonance and dissonance, I wondered “is the composer knowledgeable about music theory?” Did you intend to put in dissonance with intervals like minor second and major seventh?
Issei: No, not at all. I never intended for it to be difficult, but dissonance is something that isn't very visual kei, and that's why I wanted to add it in. I tried adding a "spiritless” sound (that horn-like sound before the breakdown) into the rhythm.
－ Speaking of that sound, that part is very catchy, makes it very impactful. Well then, please tell us about the other parts of these series of songs.
Ryuya: For Kyomou no Uta, I really just did it as I pleased. In the section prior to the chorus, Retsu is making sharp piercing tones while there are clean chords added in the back. The delay of the dotted eighth note over the tracing is a must have phrase in the type of music I like. From the start, I've preferred the beautiful sound of a modulation effector over the sound of shred guitar.
－ Was it the part where you decided in what way to use delay [that gave you a hard time]?
Ryuya: That's right. I’m picky about the number of times the sound echoes and the balance of it. But it was the first time since I've been in a band that I used delay in recording.
Retsu: In these three songs, I thought about the difficult portion in the verse quite a lot. I like phrases with that kind of flow. Although I've been influenced by D.I.D. too. Since the lead guitar in the chorus of Kyomou no Uta has a melodious flowing phrasing, I'd like it if you would please listen to it.
Tsubasa: I play simply in the recordings, but there are many times when later at lives or in the studio I create new phrases depending on how I feel, and I end up thinking “I’m gonna implement this!” The three songs that have been recorded are already different, I also play 『初潮』(Shochou) (Track.6) differently at lives. Basically, I’m the type that definitely plays differently in recordings and lives. I was like this even in my previous band, but I thought if I didn’t do this, the audience would get bored and I always play the parts that I want them to hear more consciously. Also, the unison with the guitars is something I’d play properly.
－ That unison also seems to be high difficulty.
Tsubasa: It is fairly difficult. It’s a quote from LOUDNESS’ bassist, Masayoshi Yamashita, but “Unison is when you listen and you’re unable to tell apart the guitar and bass because they’ve been played so perfectly in unison.” That’s why even in recordings, I think it’s fundamental to play precisely together and alike, but I can’t follow it with only feelings so I’ve still got to advance further.
Issei: I use a trigger for the drums. The timbre is that the kicks sound crackly, I take note of the timbres I’d use and the ones I don’t.
－ The music video for Aharewata has gotten over 140,000 views, but when looking at the comments there's a lot of people from overseas.
Tsubasa: Sure enough, our music is also well-received by people overseas, isn't it?
－ I think you also have promoting overseas in your mind, is there any festival you'd like to play at?
Ryuya: Maybe Download Festival or Warped Tour. When I was in Deviloof, we regrettably lost in the finals for the German festival, Wacken.
Tsubasa: I'd say KNOTFEST! Even if it's in Japan.
Issei: Ahh, there's Taste of Chaos.
－ You'd also seem to fit in for SCREAM OUT FEST.
Ryuya: That's true. SCREAM OUT FEST has a lot of the, what we call, metalcore bands perform so I want to perform there no matter what. I'm acquainted with a lot of the bands in the label, TRIPLE VISION, but I also have the most frustrating feelings too, so as expected, I get along well with Last Day Dream and Victim of Deception and I want to play with them. Even if our genres are different, I think it'd definitely be fun.
－ You interact with Loud rock bands too. I think in terms of sound, DIMLIM is close to that genre's alley, but as a visual kei band, could you tell us some of the advantages and disadvantages of working in this genre?
Issei: The advantages are that you have a lot of freedom. I think of visual kei as its own music genre.
－ Meaning?
Issei: If someone who is not familiar with make-up gave visual kei a try, there would be a lot of songs that’d make them go “Huh?”
－ Is it in the way of singing [that makes visual kei different]? Or just the sound?
Issei: Yeah, sometimes it's the singing, sometimes it's the atmosphere
Tsubasa: Indeed, the fact that we can do whatever we want is a huge part of it. Also, of course, I think it’s a strong point that visual kei is able to express things by using looks. The staging is also different from other genres. For a period of time, I played for a hardcore band, but I played as though I were on a visual kei stage and the members, the public address system, and even the audience told me “That's tacky, stop it!” (lol) I thought, “Really!? If this were visual kei it'd be cool though.” Also, doing makeup, changing your name allows you to perform and act as a different version of yourself. During lives, I get the feeling that I'm acting.
－ So you feel as though you're acting.
Tsubasa: Basically, I really hate myself. That's why I feel like I'm performing as a version of myself that I like. I like showing others my performance as “Tsubasa of DIMLIM.” The thing that I dislike is the image that “Visual kei = Untalented” which somehow became established. No matter how skilled someone is, if they're doing visual kei they get thought of as untalented and dissed. Nokubura destroyed that notion so I respect that. People who are young think that for example, even the GazettE are untalented just because they are visual kei. To tell the truth, I used to think that way as well, but actually when I went to see The GazettE's DOGMATIC FINAL LIVE at Yoyogi, I realised they were popular because they were talented. So the demerit of visual kei is that you get thought of as having no technique. Even the hardcore punk bandmen around me have thoughts like that.
－ DIMLIM's music would be impossible to play without skill. About the GazettE, when I saw them live my impression of them also changed. They get more and more amazing every time I see them, it's overwhelming.
Tsubasa: That's right. They say the sound in huge venues is not that great, but the GazettE sounded so much better than in small live houses. The performance itself also has visual kei elements in it.
Retsu: The good aspect of visual kei is that it's a culture unique to Japan. If I were a foreigner, I would like to do a mixture of things. Like LIMP BIZKIT. Or I would try to do an unrefined sounding band like EYES SET TO KILL or CHIODOS. But I was born in Japan and I love visual kei so I'm glad I'm Japanese.
－ Visual kei is getting popular overseas too, isn't it?
Retsu: I guess so. But when it comes to foreigners, even if they don't wear makeup their face is already well-balanced, isn't it? I think since we are Japanese, we have that as a good merit.
Sho: Speaking of good aspects, we can also change up our makeup according to the lyrics and so we can express our worldview easier. If you wear dark makeup it can easily have a negative impact, whereas if you have bright, shimmery makeup on, it has a positive impact. Also many times people say "Oh, it's visual kei, right?" in a negative way, but on the other hand when they hear a good song they are like "What? This is visual kei?" in a positive way.
Ryuya: I agree, we can do anything, we can easily change up the colours depending on the band. Even with just makeup.
－ Can you think of any bad aspects?
Ryuya: Uhm…...
Tsubasa: Maybe that it's hard for men to get into it.
Ryuya: You're right. I went to visual kei lives a lot too, but at first it was tough. It's kind of embarrassing to go somewhere that's filled with girls. I don't know if there's a reversed situation like that.
－ It has a totally different feel when girls go to hardcore lives compared to when guys go to visual kei lives.
Ryuya: Exactly. People give you strange looks and stuff. Though maybe I'm just too self‐conscious.
Tsubasa: I totally understand. You just get the feeling of being watched for some reason. (lol) Actually, I'm really glad that as of now, there are male guests at our shows.
－ You've been doing secret lives, what do your fans do at your concerts?
Issei: Well, just the general bangya movements, but even Sho is confused by them. If there are no instructions, they won't move.
－ Not just in visual kei but in general there's an issue with Japanese people not knowing how to move to the rhythm. Like "I guess I'm gonna raise my fist in 8 minutes."
Issei: The thing I was surprised by is that the fists come up at half-tempo. (lol) I was like "Is this the trend these days?" (lol)
－ Half-tempo. (lol)
Tsubasa: Even if you did Awa Odori, it would be fine as long as you are having fun. (lol) It's also okay to just stand still, as long as you are listening to us. If you are in the back.
－ How was it when you were in Deviloof?
Ryuya: Chaotic. There were moshing.
－ Sho, what is something you keep in mind during lives?
Sho: To be able to properly express what I want. The lyrics are heavy, so I get emotionally invested on stage.

－ DIMLIM is preparing for their oneman live in June that has already sold out. Looking forward to the start, but is there any specific goal as of now, that each of you would like to achieve?
Issei: I want to face Far East Dizain. (lol) I've been friends with the guitarist, Leda, for the longest time.
－ (lol) Listening to you makes me think, are you all look at other bands as rivals?
Issei: No, there's no rivalry.....
Tsubasa: Well, not saying there isn’t. (lol)
Issei: I guess, we just want to make them go speechless. (lol)
Ryuya: My goal would be performing overseas. I want to leave a mark behind, and I think it would be amazing if we could play outside Japan regularly.
Retsu: I want to go at full speed to however far I can. Skill-wise it's obvious, but with the band itself. I'm putting all my might into it, and I will devour everything.
Tsubasa: Like an insane band. (lol)
Retsu: No, no. (lol) But I think it's not worth it if you don't put this much feeling into it. On the contrary, that’s the only thing we have now.
－ I can feel the bloodlust even just from listening to the songs.

Retsu: Also, I would like to play at an event with the GazettE. (lol) I'm laughing while saying this, but one day I will definitely stand on the same stage as them. I admire them, but I don't want to lose. Plus I would like to perform at non-visual kei festivals too. Anyway, I will do DIMLIM, hoping that our music will pierce the eardrums of as many people as possible and that we, or I alone, can affect a lot of people.
Tsubasa: Band-wise, I would like my parents, relatives, friends etc. to be proud of me when I say "I'm in a band like this". I want them to say "Wow! Isn’t that amazing!". I always tell my fans too that someday they will definitely be proud of supporting me from the start. As an individual, I would like to motivate people to start playing instruments, also to start using the same instrument as I am, even if just one person got influenced, that would be great.
－ What instrument are you using now? Certainly, it would be nice if people would use your own model, right?
Tsubasa: I’ve been using the 5 string bass that I started with, but it would be amazing if one day I could have my own model. I myself am greatly influenced by TAIJI and I'm striving to be like him. I love him so much that I'm always using the same bass as him and I have the same tattoo as him. There's already someone who's using the same type of effector as I am. When we had that reply project on LINE, they told me "Changing my effector made the sound change completely" and that made me happy. I would be even happier if the number of such people would increase.
－ Lastly, Sho please tell us your goals.
Sho: I want to triumph over everyone who made fun of me and stepped on me up until now. But besides that, most importantly...... I want to be recognised.

This is just my opinion so you don't have to answer this, but man, even if you did hate ruki it'd be well within your right. I figure you don't, I'm not sure where he is on your scale. But if you did, and didn't wanna translate his shit, I think that would be well within your right anyway (and I would be inclined to agree with you). That anon was rude, childish, and probably one of the most up there in terms of entitlement I've seen from anons in this fandom. I'm so sorry. I hope they'll learn to think before they speak. He's somewhere in the middle of my ranking, since I do love his voice and design, but he can be a little bland/boring at times because he's almost too perfect. <o<
I can't forgive him for what he did to the cat in his MB route though. >(
But you know which character I do dislike? (Hate is too strong of a word for my tastes)
Carla.
I just don't see much appeal in him aside from the funny moments on the DL Twitter accounts where he tries to mix in with humans and finds himself in the funniest situations, looking totally out of place. (E.g. lining up with a bunch of teenage girls to buy bubble tea)
However, I don't enjoy his voice at all and his blood-sucking noises literally make me cringe. :/ He can be very sweet at times, but if I have to be honest, I don't always fully enjoy translating his CDs.
Will I translate the remaining ones? Yes, because I'm persistent about completing this project and I do want to get to know his character better. But his CDs definitely aren't the ones I turn to first, or what I would choose when I want to treat myself, haha.

Translator’s note: Translating this CD alongside Yuma’s MB route is giving me a culture shock because it is almost like two entirely different guys. It really shows just how much the franchise has changed compared to its earlier days. (That’s saying a lot considered the MMB CDs aren’t even particularly ‘fluffy’) I know some people prefer the darker/more intense versions of the boys but I think I personally would rather have this Yuma. The more aggressive one would probably kill me just by poking me with his little finger. xD

You nod.
“Ah, speakin’ of which! Kou doodled yer face and it turned out so funny and ugly, I’ll show it to ya as well!”

“Uhm...Where did it put it again...? It’s gone...!? Where did it go!? I could have sworn I put it in here...”
You tell off Yuma for making a mess.
“Aah...? There’s stuff ‘round my desk? Oh shut up. It’s not that bad it’s worth cleanin’ up. Besides, when I run out of space, I just use the desk of the dude sittin’ next to me so who cares.”
You look at the desk next to his, frowning.
“Yeah. ‘Bout half of the stuff on that desk is mine as well. I borrow it whenever I’m runnin’ low on space.”
You shake your head in disapproval.
“Who cares? They always let me borrow it with a smile on their face.”
You offer to clean it up.
“Why should I clean it up? Just forget ‘bout that guy’s desk.”
You insist.
“Who cares ‘bout some other person’s desk? Cleanin’ up is a big pain in the ass...”
You start cleaning it up yourself.
*Rustle rustle*
“Didn’t I just tell ya it’s fine? Why are ya so worried ‘bout some other dude?”
Yuma leans in close.
“You’re my woman, right? In that case, don’t be thinkin’ ‘bout anythin’ or anyone but me. ...Or are ya tryin’ to butter up to this guy, hopin’ to seduce him afterwards? Am I not enough to satisfy ya?”
You shake your head.
“Then just leave it be. It pisses me off so stop cleanin’.”

You grab your bag and thank him.
“Haah...”
The two of you start walking.
“That bein’ said, this challenge is takin’ longer than I expected. I was convinced ya’d bend in no time but you’re surprisingly sturdy? Well, you’ve been usin’ the hourglass tho so it isn’t really fair. Without that lil’ thing, the score would be long settled by now.”
You protest.
“Whatever. Anyway, let’s head to the supermarket.”
You ask him what you have to buy.
“Ingredients for today’s dinner. Also some seasonings. I’m droppin’ by the pharmacy as well. Azusa’s runnin’ low on bandages so we gotta stock up on some new ones. Also...I wanna look for some cotton gloves as well.”
You raise a brow, asking if he really needs those.
“Not for me, but tiny ones for ya. I’d be convenient to have them layin’ ‘round for whenever ya help out in the garden, right?”
You agree, smiling.
“...No need to thank me. Come on, let’s get goin’.”
