how about 8 and 18?
OOOO!!! im not gonna lie this took some brainstorming but I eventually settled on a teensy bit of angst for our alpha frat harry cuties
(a continuation of the february prompts from yesterday!)
8. poem
18. heart candies
. . .
"I just think Valentine's Day is kinda dumb."
Y/N swallows a sigh. For the past few days, she'd been hinting to her silly, alpha brained boyfriend that Valentine's Day was coming up. When it finally clicked for him, his response made her heart crack just a tinge. She's never properly celebrated the day — not because she hasn't wanted to in the past, but because she just didn't have anyone. She knows Valentine's Day can be about self-love or friendships or whatever else girl-boss-social-media-influencers try to force down single peoples' throats, but she would be lying if she said that she wasn't just a little bit excited about being in a relationship for it this year.
And there's a part of her that wants to please Harry — to maybe say, "yeah, you're right, it's not a real holiday," but she'd like to think she's past the people-pleasing era in her life.
"I like it," she peeps out, nibbling on her bottom lip as Harry continues aiming his entire focus on whatever video game he's playing. "I think it's a sweet opportunity to show people how much you love them."
Harry hums, "Yeah, but I can do that any day."
"You could," she admits. "I think... I think people just hype it up a lot in their heads. It's not all poems and heart candies and big, grand romantic gestures. I just think it's nice to reminded that the person you're with cares about you."
At that, Harry finally pauses his game and sets his controller down on the TV stand.
"Are you trying to tell me that you want to celebrate Valentine's Day?"
It's not a hard-headed question, and she knows Harry's not being accusatory in any way. He has that soft crinkle between his brows and those cushy, concerned eyes he always gives her whenever he knows she's studying too hard or hasn't been taking care of herself properly.
She shrugs her shoulders and sets her gaze to the floor. "I think it would be nice."
"Yeah?" Harry asks, leaning forward slightly to thumb at her chin. With a playful smile, he raises her head back up to catch her eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were into it."
"This is the first year I have someone," Y/N explains softly, "And I know we're not properly mated yet—"
"We basically are—"
"We're not," she reminds him with an impish smirk, "But I would really like it if we did something. It can be small, but... yeah."
"Well then," he says, clearing his throat and straightening his posture. He looks like he's about to do a professional presentation, and it makes Y/N smile. "Will you be my valentine, my sweet little omega mate to-be?"
"Yes, please."

do you care to share any of your many feelings about Tony? Or why you're team Iron Man? I'm actually so curious about all your opinions about the MCU in general, like Tony and why Endgame ruined the franchise and why you didn't like Loki, so ... if you want to talk about any of those things please share because I want to know as much as you're willing to tell me! If not feel free to ignore this and continue on your day :)
Sure, lovely!
Imma just preface this by saying that I'm not looking to kick the hornet's nest and I'm not interested in having arguments with people about this sort of stuff. If anyone disagrees, that's cool, I legit do not care and please don't come into my inbox trying to change my mind or be upset.
I love Tony because he's a deeply flawed character, and within the story he's completely aware of his faults. He's by no means perfect and he doesn't pretend to be (except as a mask or a joke). He accepts responsibility for his actions the second he realises what's happening, he carries his guilt well and uses his mistakes to improve. He's charming, a snarky little shit, and traumatised, which is my favourite character type.
I'm Team Iron Man largely because I agree with their views in the movie. The Avengers really did need oversight, because holy shit have they done some fucked up things and made things actively worse in many instances. The fact that the accords were brought up by the UN and agreed on by 117 countries really makes it hard for me to just hand-wave those away. I live in a country that has a real problem with certain policing or political entities not having the correct level of oversight, and it's a shit-show. If I lived in a world where people could fly and punch someone into the stratosphere or destroy cities with laser beams and magic, then hell yeah would I want someone keeping an eye on them and at the very least making sure they had training/processes/policies they had to follow. The fact that Steve barely read the accords or took the time to understand them really bothered me. And the fact that the Civil War stopped being about the accords the second Barnes was involved also annoyed me. Steve had tunnel-vision, and it fucked everything up for everyone. So just on that, Team Iron Man wins by default for me.
Endgame just disappointed me. The plot was messy, and the shoehorned humour was completely out of tone. Trying to redeem Howard Stark was dumb. Thor was bad. Thanos annoyed me. Natasha got done dirty. It was just - idk. I don't really need to justify it. I just didn't have a good time overall. I haven't really liked many mcu films or tv shows, to be honest. I think I just watched them because they're the latest trend or whatever, and even the hype wasn't enough to keep me on the tether. There's just a lot of inconsistency with certain projects and it can get frustrating.
I didn't like Loki's show because I couldn't get into the characterisation of him. He turned...almost goofy? Silly? He just didn't have the sharpness I initially really liked, if that makes sense? Him being softer would have been fine, him learning to trust and have bonds would have been absolutely cool, but this was Loki fresh from New York and those first few episode just had him come off as a bit dumb. So I couldn't get into it :/
This was a very rough response lmao, but I hope it shines at least a little light on my thoughts 😂 Have a good day/night, darling!

“Did you ever try to kill yourself?”
The question caught me off guard; no one had ever asked me that before. Not that I remember, anyway. As much as I cared for others, no person had ever dared to utter that question to me. A moment passed before I answered.
“Yes.”
He cocked his head to the side, just enough to notice but not enough to be seen as condescending. The glistening lights of the city hit his face perfectly. The life suited him— the attitude he held, the stride he took on the way to class, even the way the lights hit his face in the night.
We both sat in silence for a while, listening to the clock’s gentle tick on the wall. Every tick was a reminder of the time left in the night before the twins woke us up for their breakfast.
It was late and neither of us could fall asleep. He said that the ‘sounds of silence’ kept him awake— I had no clue know what that meant, but I didn’t question it. The man is a genius, who am I to question him?
He tried to explain it to me once. The silence, he said, enhances what little noises certain household objects make. The slight buzz of electricity from the wires in the walls or the hum of the refrigerator from the kitchen, it was all too much.
“Why?”
The way he asked the question was careful.
“The real reason or the deeper reason?”
He stifled a laugh, a knowing one, “The real reason.”
I thought about everything I went through the day I attempted, searching for whatever reason I could to justify what I did to myself. I had lost my place in class rank, falling just barely below valedictorian. I was student body president, yet no one listened to my ideas.
I remember when they all teased me when I suggested that we changed the food in the vending machines because they were too unhealthy— I knew that would give me a target on my back, but I thought my idea would be considered at very least.
My ballet teacher called me fat. Subtly, but noticeable enough to make a dent in my self esteem. She knew I was the best in class and I knew that it bothered her. She had spent her life purging herself, starving her body, harming herself to get her to where she was. Ballerina’s were so cruel.
I searched and searched, until finally, I found my reason.
“I had a shitty day.” I noted, “My mom had left for work and my brother was off with his friends. I came home, did my homework, sat down on my bed…”
I paused. It took me a moment to gather my thoughts. He held my hand, reassuring me that everything would be okay.
“I couldn’t find my remote.”
I saw that it took him aback and that he was forcing himself not to laugh, “What?”
“That’s my reason.”
“That you couldn’t find the remote?”
“It was more than that!” I laughed, signaling to him that it was okay. “I had a bad day. I came home, worked on some… really hard calculus homework. All I wanted was to watch some… dumb TV show I can’t even remember the name of. And… I couldn’t find the remote.”
The room was filled with quiet giggles, both of us trying not to wake the sleeping babies in the cribs next to us.
“Wow, that’s…” His voice trailed off, trying to find the words to describe my situation.
“Tragic? Sad? A little pathetic?”
“Really funny.”
“Don’t be a dick.”
Our giggles grew a little louder until we saw one of the twins stir in their crib.
“I just… I don’t know. I guess it just threw me over the edge… on-top of everything else that was going on, I mean.”
“I get it,” He started. “I attempted because my controller died.”
“See, now that’s reasonable.”
“And your reason isn’t? I don’t know, I think trying to kill yourself over a remote being lost is a pretty valid reason to me.”
Our laughter died down as we both felt a weight being lifted off our chest. Maybe both of us needed this— a true moment of vulnerability. Our relationship felt too perfected. It was like watching a rom-com movie on the TV— a plot that was too cliché, you’d never expect to happen in real life. That was us.
But it was so infuriating.
It’s weird to complain about being ‘too perfect’ but our relationship sometimes felt… unrealistic.
Fake.
Every moment with him felt like carrying a fragile piece of artwork. At any moment, I could trip and fall— destroying it’s beauty and every meaning it held. It felt like I was just waiting for the moment I would fall and ruin the whole thing. That’s who I was in relationships— the clumsy one.
But this true moment of vulnerability felt real. The man, famously known to keep his emotions behind a stone wall, was finally opening up to me.
“What was the deeper reason?”
His soft voice broke the silence in the room.
I was quiet for a minute, thinking of any way I could answer that question without sounding petty and superficial.
“I was jealous.”
“Of?”
“...Everyone.”
We were both quiet. I knew he was waiting for me to continue— his breathing was slow and steady, waiting for the moment I was ready. His fingers intertwined with mine, fidgeting with the engagement ring he was oh, so proud of. It was slightly too big to fit my finger— on purpose, I think— which made it the perfect object he could play with when he held my hand.
I continued on.
“My brother was more popular than I ever was,” I started. “He had no interest in interacting with me while we were at school together.”
“Ouch.”
“Yeah, it was shitty of him.”
I was quiet again, feeling his hand tighten around mine.
I continued on.
“What little friends I did have were more interested in their partners than they ever were with me, which is fine in retrospect. I understand now, but it hurt like a bitch when I was younger.”
I let a soft sigh escape my lips.
“I didn’t feel lovable. I knew my parents loved me but… it felt more like an obligation than actual love at the time. I felt ugly, too. It’s hard to watch your best friend spend the night with countless guys when you could barely manage to steal a glance from a person.”
I knew he felt the urge to say some witty comment or try to be flirty with me. But both of us knew it wasn’t the right time. Instead, he was silent.
“I felt alone. I felt like I had no one to turn to. My anxiety was completely unmanageable at the time and…”
“You were overwhelmed?”
“Yeah. That’s a good way to describe it.”
A quiet moment filled the room once more, only briefly interrupted by the unbearable ticking of the clock.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
“What was yours?”
I squeezed his hand, assuring him that he was safe. He always loved when I did that.
“I hated myself.”
Some part of me expected an answer similar to mine. Him being overwhelmed and unable to manage his own emotions, being the edgy teen he previously described to me. What I wasn’t expecting was that he hated himself.
He was always cocky and he had every right to be. His brother was pretty, sure, but not like he was. The man was perfect down to his very soul. He was a genius— top of his class in every subject. He was offered a full-ride opportunity to attend Stanford for his doctorate studies and even planned on obtaining another doctorate soon after.
You’d never expect him to hate himself, let alone want to die because of it. But that’s who he was— unpredictable.
He continued on.
“I was raped at the age of ten. I was attending therapy almost weekly. I was relentlessly bullied from ages eleven to seventeen. After I had finally broken out of my shell—” He stopped himself for a moment. “After I was forced out of my shell, everyone was fixated on this idea that I was some hot and mysterious bad boy. No one cared who I truly was— not that I wanted them to, anyway.”
I put my hand to his cheek, caressing it with my thumb. He pulled away slightly while he continued to talk.
“They all just wanted to have sex. I mean, I was seventeen and horny, but…”
“Not that horny?”
He laughed a little, allowing himself to lean into my hand.
“It was the only way I felt of value… having sex, I mean. At some point, when I looked into a mirror, I felt like a hallow shell that people were only using to get off on.”
Some part of me wanted to hold him and tell him that wasn’t who he was. He was my favorite person. Every moment with him felt like heaven and I never wanted to leave his side. But I didn’t, I stayed silent just like he did when I was talking. I think he knew what I felt, though. I saw his eyes flicker over to mine, then the corners of his mouth tug slightly to form a vague smile. Even in the dark, his smile was more beautiful than any painting in the world.
“I had to go to a psych ward after that.”
“I bet you looked good in a straight jacket.”
“Baby, I look good in everything.”
Giggles filled the room once more, eventually slowing down and fading to a long silence. I felt his arms wrap around my waist— the same hug he gave me every night.
“I’m happy now, you know.” He whispered into my neck. “With you and the twins.”
I ran my nails up and down his back, the way I knew he loved. I traced shapes into his skin, making him shiver. He sunk his head deeper into my shoulder.
“I’m happy too. I don’t know where I’d be without you.”
I felt him smile against my skin, preparing himself to say something witty.
And he did, as he usually does.
“Sad and alone, probably.”
I pushed him and the loud groan he let out as he hit the floor made me laugh.
“You deserve that.”
“I know.”
Both of us turned our heads to the twins as they began to fuss. Neither of us had realized how loud we had gotten, or that we had woken them up. But what was the use at that point? After all, it was 6 a.m., and it was time for breakfast.

Note
um i saw you were taking requests so demiromantic kiribaku hcs (preferably bakugo being the one who's demiromantic)
kiribaku + demiromantic bakugou
bakugou never had crushes. throughout middle school the few kids that clung to him often talked about the girls they liked. with flushed cheeks and excited hands. bakugou always thought them foolish because by next week their interests would switch to a new girl and they would once again swear she was the love of their life and this time it’s for real.
there was a brief moment bakugou tried to like someone. he got curious as to what everyone seemed to be experiencing.
it was some girl in his class who had a decent quirk and seemed smart. a bunch of guys in their class liked her. but no matter how much he tried he couldn’t find her interesting or worth his time.
he tried doing the same to a guy in his class, remembering his parents words when he began his last year of junior high that he could like anyone he wanted no matter their gender. the guy was another one with a decent quirk and a brain. but it was the same. he felt nothing of what the others described.
he felt no uneasiness in the pits of his stomach. his heart didn’t race. he didn’t think about them constantly or want to be near them all the time. he didn’t have the urge to go out of his way to make them notice him. he felt no desire to gush about how beautiful they were.
bakugou didn’t give up because he isn’t a quitter. he just told himself he didn’t need a silly little crush to distract him from his goals. he was going to be the #1 hero he didn’t need a relationship.
he brought that attitude into high school when he began at u.a. he was there to study and to train to become the best hero. to beat all might and take his spot at the top.
he kept it strong for a while. students latched onto him just like they did in junior high. he paid them little attention.
until he realized how genuine kirishima was about being his friend. how kirishima always tagged along to train with him. how kirishima asked for his help studying and would pay him in snacks because he didn’t want to take advantage of bakugou. kirishima would talk to him about everything and anything
kirishima always encouraged him. he strived hard to bring out the best in bakugou. told bakugou he would be his unbreakable horse during the sports festival. and cheered bakugou on during the training camp. always listening to bakugou describe his new moves.
then the kamino incident happened. and kirishima reached out his hand towards bakugou. and bakugou took it.
they moved into dorms next to each other. and kirishima always seemed to know when bakugou would have trouble sleeping. he would invite him to bakugou’s room and show him his favorite movies or shows. they would sit up all night just talking until bakugou finally fell asleep.
it was on one of these nights. it was a friday night. they were both tired from a long week of classes and training. kirishima put on a marvel movie just to have in the background. the only lights were from the tv and a small desk lamp. bakugou had turned to look at kirishima as the other started talking and his breath caught in his throat.
kirishima hair was down still damp from his shower. he had a wide toothy grin as he told bakugou about some story about kaminari and sero being dumb. the lights illuminated all around him.
that was the first time bakugou ever felt what his junior high friends described. the fluttering in his stomach. the increase of his heart rate. he could feel the heat of a blush on his cheeks. for once his mind was blank and numb. and all he wanted to do was stare at kirishima for the rest of his life. because he had never realized how beautiful the other boy was until that moment.
he thought the feelings would leave. but they came back whenever he saw kirishima. whenever kirishima offered praise and smiled so widely at him. how his heart skipped beats when kirishima would accidentally brush his hand against his own. or the blush of his cheeks when kirishima crashed onto his bed whining about sore muscles.
he craved for those long nights of them talking about everything. he boasted in the fact that kirishima told him about his junior high. all the insecurities and fears kirishima had. and how kirishima would listen with unwavering attention when bakugou told him his own.
bakugou was at a loss at what to do. he had never felt like this before. there had been brief times where he thought he was incapable of feeling this way. but kirishima just proved that all wrong.
bakugou slowly started letting kirishima touch him more. he stopped shoving kirishima’s hand away. he had grown to want to feel kirishima skin upon his own. this increased from small touches of the hand to kirishima wrapping his arms around bakugou’s shoulder. poking his sides and playfully kicking him while they studied.
it was when bakugou started doing these things back that bakugou noticed the blush on kirishima’s face whenever he did so.
he shouldn’t have been surprised by the confession. kirishima was never one to hold back not around bakugou. they were in the gym on a saturday training. and as they finished for the day kirishima grabbed his shoulders and told him he liked him.
all bakugou’s kirishima focused brain could supply was “same” but the smile kirishima gave him afterwards was brighter than the sun

This Week In BL
April 2021 Part 5
Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
Close Friend Ep 2 (JaFirst) - First is a cat. No actually a cat. It was WEIRD. Cute, but creeping towards beastiality. It reminded me of that strange series out of China (@heretherebedork says Youth in the Breeze). The most amusing thing to me was that the cat used Thai formal linguistic register when of course cats would use informal rude guu mueng with EVERYONE. No cat would use pom. Don’t be ridiculous, Thailand.
Second Chance Ep 5 - still invested, things progressed for all 3 couples, in one direction or another. They cuties. I love them. Carry on.
Y-Destiny Ep 5 - the “virgin scoreboard” is gonna make the seme real hard to redeem with this pairing. If they bother. This might be a life lesson episode. What does it remind me of? Oh yes. Kids. *SHUDDER* Point of interest: did you notice Team uses ha with Mon? What a pushy flirt.
Lovely Writer Ep 10 - honestly I just love it when Poppy shows up in anything, why is he such a delightful screen presence? (Gene’s brother) Sorry, distracted. What happened in this one? Oh, ya know, stuff and things. Family drama. (It is just me or have they been giving us some long ass episodes lately?) Obligatory beach trip activated. (Result = dumb probability mathematics jokes.) Next week it looks like we have Keeping Actor’s Closeted 101. You know the Casting Couch? This is the Casting Closet.
Fish Upon The Sky Ep 4 - early stage confession, how fun. It’s not unprecedented it just usually means we are in 4 act structure, not 3, which means Fish might go more serious than I thought. Honestly? I’m losing interest mostly because I’ve gone from mild annoyance to active dislike of Pi. Happened to me with Tine too. They better redeem this obtuse tsundere uke soon or he’s not tsundere at all he’s just a jackwit.
Brothers Ep 13 fin - a kiss and the family finds out about the not-so-brotherly brothers, drama, graduation, THE END. My side-dish happy heart made thumps over Q + delivery boy, I’m sad they got so little screen time. My babies KhunKaow did get a tiny coming out sequence as such. I’m seriously considering doing myself a bootleg of just the KhunKaow plot, but that means I’d have to rewatch the whole darn series and I can’t STAND the idea. Which should give you insight into how not good this show it. Very NOT good. Must we get a season 2? Please stop now, Line.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
HIStory 4: Close To You (Taiwan) Ep 7 - Muren is the cutest peanut and anyone who says otherwise can fight me, although they probably have to go through Licheng first. I was NOT invested in these two at the beginning, but as a couple? They own my soul. The other storyline is still the dumpster fire that I can’t decide to roast marshmallows over (knowing they’ll get tinged with eu de trash) or flee from in horror clutching my pearls and my nose. H4 continues to provide the quality psyche torture I’ve come to expect from this franchise. *sarcastic thumbs up*  *** A word on seeing Boxiang show up (side dish from H3:MODC). It was an unexpected pleasure, I loved his pairing (May/December is a winner for me *glares at Method*) but I do think it was a bone from the franchise telling us that we are never getting that spin-off or reboot that people yearn for. However, how AWESOME that Licheng has someone to go to and ask about topping properly. Otherwise he’s sure to have screwed it up. (Pun intended.)
Papa & Daddy (Tailwan) Ep 1-2 - this came out of nowhere and is ADORABLE. Applies a ton of BL tropes (cheek kiss, his closet, B&W stripes, drag baby around, boop) but what IS it? More slice of gay domesticity than romance. Like 2019′s Kinou Nani Tabeta? or currently airing Close Friend. I enjoy this style, very wholesome, but I’m not sure what to call it. (Bonus points for cutie lesbians.) A bit weird to have a kid with your partner and STILL not be out to your parents. I hope they aren’t going to throw in a break up for dramatic effect.
My Lascivious Boss (Vietnam) Ep 4 - I’m really enjoying this series. It’s unabashedly queer, although there’s some problematic stuff lurking under the wig. How it ends is gonna dictate if they handled this stylishly. But hot damn the leads ZING on screen together and their crackling prank-flirting is a joy to watch.
Word of Honor (China) Ep 31-33 - moving into the home stretch. Big rescue and the band is back together (presumably for the final slaughter). Then a death! *this is my shocked face* Did I tear up? Of course I did. 4 act structure is designed for maximum pathos during the final 1/4. Did we all faint from the symbolism of the love token hair stick being gently thrust into Ah Xu’s bun? Sure we did. All that and sill I’m flagging. This is a long-arse show. Save me, Korea, with your iItsy bitsy teenie weenie...
Nobleman Ryu’s Wedding (Korea) Ep 5-6 - I am getting such strong 12th Night vibes from this. Tae Hyung is now brigadier of BL’s historical himbo brigade. (To be deployed whenever you are in need of poetry or a cut sleeve.) This show is all ridiculous charm and I LOVE it. Although, five seconds of Lee Sang is not enough Lee Sang. I had to immediately rewatch Wish You.

Gossip
Nitiman gave us an actor intro BTS teaser.
Kang In Soo (AKA Kyang Insoo) posted a cute behind the photo shoot of Nobleman Ryu’s Wedding plus a silly interview with Jang Eui Soo on his YouTube channel (you should subscribe, it’s a fun channel, his fitness regime is both insane and inspiring).
My Engineer 2 dropped a couch interview with the boys but it feels like one that was filmed a while ago (oh and no subs).

STARTING SOON: Nitiman, Love Area, Top Secret Together, Be Loved in House, & I Promised You The Moon
Nitiman (Thai) May 7, One 31. University set, moons, engineering students, enemies to lovers, adapted. - Looks to be a solid 2 Moons knock off, I’m in.
Love Area (Thai) May 8, AIS Play, 10 eps total. Restaurant set, stars Pak Chavitpong (the only good thing about Cupid Coach) and the OST is sung by Jeff Satur (Ingredients). - It’s boys in love revolving around food = my kryptonite, try to stop me from watching this probable trash.
Top Secret Together (Thai) May 14, Line TV. 5 couples, one IRL (Newyear from I Am Your King), story arcs revolve around secrets.  - I’m getting fatigued by these multi-couple sampler pack dramas, but I’ll try it for Newyear’s sake.
Be Loved in House: I Do (Taiwan YES!) May 20, Viki. Office set, relationships prohibited at work by a new boss, one of the employees is determined to figure out why. Grumpy/tsundere pairing so loads of drama. - I am so flipping excited for this one. A 4th BL series from Taiwan in less than a year? That’s unprecedented. GO BABY ISLAND GO!
I Promised You the Moon (Thai) May 27, Line TV. Follow up to I Told Sunset About You with the boys now at university. - I won’t be watching this as I have yet to finish season 1.
Possibly Gameboys season 2.  - Rumors are all over the place right now on this.

Next Week Looks Like This:

Big Hero 6 The Series: It could have been better
Hello, friends. Today, I will be analyzing a TV series based on a movie that I fell in love with for its colourful themes, deep plot, compelling characters, great CGI and memorable messages. Before I get into it, I want to take a moment to say that I have quit doing videos. They are too big of a pain in the petunia to make and I write better than I speak, so I will stick to writing essays, reviews and more. Anyway, onto the analysis.
All I can say about Big Hero 6 the series is that it had a great concept, it presented some great ideas and tried hard to be a cartoon of the times, but it could have and should have been a lot better. The show’s downfall all centers around trying too hard to be kid friendly which makes the shame sting all the more because Big Hero 6 was already kid friendly even with its dark themes, sharp edges and intelligent writing. If anything, even the brightest kid friendly cartoons (Steven Universe, She-Ra, etc.) had those things and actually benefitted from them. By needlessly trying too hard, character development got scrapped, the edges were all smoothed out, storytelling was subpar, the humour was too silly and the executive meddling in the end produced a dismal final season. However, I don’t want this analysis to be one lengthy negative rant about how awful the series was because in its defense, awful is an unfair word. It did have potential and ideas which are worth carrying over to a reboot that I hope will be done someday in the future. Also, we should root for a reboot because Big Hero 6 would not be the first story that needs it before striking gold. Just look at how many times Spider-Man was rebooted in film before MCU found the version that worked. Anyway, I will list all the things in Big Hero 6 that could have been better in my opinion;
Tumblr media
1- Go easy on the laughs and be more generous with the action. - I love adding comedy to my own writing because I think a good sense of humour makes everything better, but Big Hero 6 is not a stand up comedy routine. It is a superhero story where we expect action, suspense and life or death situations that are to be taken seriously first. The comedy should be for relief and with the right timing. Also, the chibi cutscenes and having characters act like fools aren’t funny. Ren and Stimpy are the exception not the standard and their way of making you laugh doesn’t fit an action series. In a show as big as Big Hero 6, real life physics and danger matters.
Tumblr media
2- Make the villains menacing and gritty. - I admit that after having a movie villain like Yokai who was the stuff of nightmares, it is going to be a challenging act to follow, but it was obvious that the writers were trying especially with some villains who could have easily gone into some dark relatable territory. For example, Mr. Sparkles (the gentleman in the photo above) embodies social media and Internet personalities. Right off the bat, you have a long list of things which embody the dark side of that like scams, fraud, using social media to dox or harass, driving people to suicide, online predators, the Internet personalities being very depressed people in real life, and much more horrifying things. When you stop and look at it, Mr. Sparkles even looks like the Joker which hints how dark and scary he could have been if the stops were removed. The same goes for enemies like Hardlight who embodies online gaming, Liv with cloning, Obake an amoral and insane scientist, and Trina and Noodle Burger Boy (more on him later) being evil robots. Globby especially should have been painted and written in much darker colours rather being played off for laughs because he has many parallels with Clay Face. The only two villains who I can say were supposed to be campy, charming and comical were Baron Von Steamer and Supersonic Sue because they were a satire of the Adam West style villains.
Tumblr media
The rest of them needed to be dark and threatening including Mr. Sparkles. In fact, I would love a rebooted version of Mr. Sparkles who gives me the heebie-jeebies. Going back to Noodle Burger Boy, I must confess that I was actually excited when I heard that he was going to be the main villain of the final season because I thought he was going to fulfill his master’s final wish and as a reminder, Noodle Burger Boy was based on a super robot for military purposes.
Tumblr media
It would have been fantastic if Noodle Burger Boy was upgraded into a full military war machine with a new threatening look. For that, I think all of the villains deserve to be rebooted and have their full potential unlocked for better or for worse.

3- A show about geniuses merits genius level art quality. - I am usually forgiving towards art styles, but in the case of Big Hero 6, the oversimplified style with minimal details and lack of textures did not suit the show. The characters blend in with the background which makes them look flat and the special effects were extremely dulled down. I also know for a fact that Disney can do a lot better than this because I saw how superbly Tangled the Series was drawn.
Tumblr media
You can see and almost feel the difference in quality, the number of layers and level of detail between the two styles. I think there was no excuse Big Hero 6 was not done in the same style and at the same level if not better as Tangled.
Tumblr media
3- Don’t dumb down or flanderize amazing characters. - I absolutely detest it when characters are flanderized because it makes them one dimensional and grating. For example, Go Go is tough as nails and extremely calm, but she is not cold or hesitant towards helping her friends. She doesn’t require very special episodes for us to know that. If anything, the movie version of Go Go reminded me a lot of Garnet in how she deconstructed the broody character. She isn’t cold or emotionless. Just calm and mature. Another good example was how Honey Lemon was rewritten to be overly positive to the point of toxicity, naïve and oblivious with a juvenile obsession with stickers. Then you have poor Fred who was rewritten to be an incompetent fool. The spark that makes Big Hero 6 shine is that they are a team of geniuses meaning they are all intelligent. Even Fred is genius in his own way just not a scientific one. He has a vivid imagination, he is resourceful and can get himself out of tight spots. Please, don’t turn characters into dummies especially if their intelligence is a part of them. It doesn’t make them better or funnier. It ruins them.
Tumblr media
4- Tadashi needs closure and honour. - I am all for Hiro making peace with the loss of his brother, but Tadashi is to the Big Hero 6 team what Uncle Ben was to Spider-Man. His loss was the catalyst if not the reason. He should never be forgotten. Moreover, there was never any true closure to him especially with the possibility that he may still be alive up in the air. After all, like Callaghan, his body was never found and it turned out that Callaghan was still alive.
Tumblr media
With that said, who is to say that Tadashi was not secretly still alive and just hiding or being hidden? This is something that Disney really needed to clear up if not for the fans, then at least as a service to such an important character. Never just forget about them.
Tumblr media
5- The format can only be episodic with a deep plots, continuity and character development. - Random episodes with a mere monster of the day is an outdated format which doesn’t fit Big Hero 6′s modern and bright setting. In seasons 1 and 2, when the episodes were plot heavy with character development, the series shined brightest. It also helped move the story along, but with the final season, plot was removed, closure was abandoned or poorly written if any was given, and characters were disallowed from growing. A good example at how plot and character development could have made this series and its characters better was the relationship between Hiro and Megan. Would it have truly survived or would they have broken up?
Tumblr media
Would Richardson Mole have eventually lost interest in his obsession with besting and bullying Fred or would his obsession consume him compelling him to become a super villain? I do see quite a few similarities between Mole and Reverse Flash.
Tumblr media
Then you have Karmi who is in my opinion, the biggest wild card of the bunch. She was intentionally introduced as an arrogant, prickly and unlikable yet complex character who rivaled Hiro bitterly.
Tumblr media
Yet had a huge crush on his alter ego and as time went on, started to grow up and even form a friendship with Hiro. What would have happened further down the road with her? Would she have become a super hero herself? Or maybe even another love interest for Hiro kind of like how Black Cat is for Spider-Man?
Tumblr media
Is Obake really gone?
Tumblr media
What does the future hold Diana (Liv’s clone), Liv herself or the Sycorax the genetics company?
Tumblr media
Is Alistair Krei going to become an ally to Big Hero 6 or an antagonist? There is also the issue at how little we know about the other Big Hero 6 characters other than Fred, Hiro and Baymax. What are Honey Lemon, Wasabi and Go Go’s backstories? These questions matter and while not every mystery can be solved, leaving none of them solved is lazy writing.
Tumblr media
6- Executives, kindly stay out of the writing and any other part of the creative process. - I’m sorry, execs, but there is no nice way to say it. History itself proves that every time executives got involved in the creative process of any media, it got worse not better. Leave the writing to the creative team and the execs should only handle the legal stuff. Please. We understand that TV is a business, but writing itself is not. It is an art which you just don’t have a talent for. Let the creative people do their thing with the freedom necessary and you do your thing, deal? Deal.
Tumblr media
7- Focus on Hiro and Baymax. - The are the main characters so keep them at the heart of the series no matter what happens around them. That is all I can say.
And that sums up all the things that could have made Big Hero 6 the series better, but this is all just my opinion. What is yours?
PS: I am well aware that the Big Hero 6 series is being retconned because a new series called Baymax is in the works as well as the long awaited sequel to the first movie. I am looking forward to both with an open mind. PPS: I also am aware that some people liked this show the way it was including the art style and I am cool with that. An analysis for art that includes cartoons is never right or wrong. It is solely based on opinion. I may have thought this series could have been better, but there are people who make arguments that it could have been worse.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Supergirl Rating: T Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Alex Danvers/Kelly Olsen  Characters: Alex Danvers, Kelly Olsen (Supergirl TV 2015)  Additional Tags: implied supercorp dumbery, alex's malfunctioning gaydar, strap-on talk, Domestic Fluff Summary: Alex and Kelly discuss sapphic culture, watch a movie, consider strap-ons, and make the most of same-day delivery. I could pretend there's a plot here but honestly it's just domestic fluff for a cute little prompt. Notes: Written for the prompt "Imagine Me & You" for the Pride theme at @femslashexchange. First time writing Dansen so I hope you'll enjoy!

“Stop staring at me like that! I thought you people were supposed to be non-judgmental.”
If Kelly takes issue with Alex’s tone when referring to psychologists as ‘you people’, she certainly doesn’t show it. She just keeps staring, body turned to face Alex’s on the couch and palms neatly resting on her knees like she’s trying to keep her composure in the face of an unhinged patient or something.
Which is, if you ask Alex, an overreaction.
“We are. I wouldn’t say I’m judging you per se, it’s just—“ Kelly presses her lips together for a moment, clearly trying to come up with non-judgmental words to convey her very judgmental (Alex can read it all over her face) thoughts. “It’s just— you’ve really never—“
“Never.” Alex shrugs, like it’s no big deal. Actually, you know what? She shrugs because it’s no big deal.
“But you’ve… I mean, at least you must be familiar with it? Word of mouth, if nothing else?”
Alex contemplates for a moment, lips pursed slightly as she looks up like she’s expecting to find some kind of cue card on the ceiling of their apartment.
“Not really?” she finally decides, after a few moments of soul-searching, “I don’t really— I mean I know it’s uh… lesbian adjacent?” Alex illustrates how unsure she is about that particular statement with a swishy hand motion, but it clearly does nothing to impress her girlfriend.
“Lesbian adjac— Alex!” Kelly’s eyes widen as she finally loses all semblance of professional poker face (not that she’d been doing a great job before, mind you) and lets out an incredulous chuckle. “It’s not lesbian adjacent, it’s— it’s a cornerstone of sapphic culture!”
“Oh come on, Kel!” It’s Alex’s turn to laugh now, more than a little bit charmed by just how passionate her otherwise very rational girlfriend seems to be about something as silly as this. “It’s so not a cornerstone of sapphic anything. Strap-ons? Sure, I could see that. Some dumb—“
“Do not finish that sent— wait, did you just say strap-ons?”
Alex shrugs. She said what she said. She’s also acutely aware of the very visible (and oh, so very pretty) glow on her girlfriend’s cheeks, no matter how hard Kelly tries to look unaffected.
“Anyway,” Kelly shakes her head just so, and Alex could not possibly be any more enamored by the way she clears her throat and shifts on her seat, “as I was saying, I’m surprised a lesbian over thirty has never seen Imagine Me & You, that’s all.”
“Eh. I’m not much for rom-coms. Can we go back to strap-ons for a minute, though? I feel like there’s a conversation to be had there.”
Alex can see the struggle right there in Kelly’s eyes. Will Kelly Olsen drop an argument, mild as this particular one may be, before it’s been thoroughly resolved? Will she give in to the heat Alex can nearly feel radiating off her cheeks and talk about sex toys instead?
“Would you wear it, or would I?” Alex asks, choosing to give her girlfriend a small nudge in the (obvious, if you ask her) right direction.
“You don’t like romantic comedies?” Kelly says at exactly the same time, looking at Alex like she’s suddenly sprouted a second head.
Alex groans, throwing her head back against the couch in such despair she nearly doesn’t hear Kelly’s next words.
“You. I think?”
Oh.
Alex is once again fully engaged with the conversation, licking her lips as she straightens her back and turns to focus on her girlfriend. “Yeah?” Alex can feel heat rising to her own cheeks now, oddly flattered by Kelly’s choice. “You think?”
There’s a certain warmth to Kelly’s smile when she looks into Alex’s eyes. The kind of warmth that lets Alex know Kelly has somehow read her thoughts and understood them, likely better than Alex herself. “I think you could pull it off, yes,” she says, long fingers wrapping around Alex’s and tugging lightly to encourage her to get a little closer.
Alex would love to be the kind of woman who can keep this back and forth of flirty banter going for a while. She’d love to be the kind of woman who can tease and flirt and play the part of the cool lesbian who knows she’s hot stuff. But the thing is, Kelly is just so beautiful. She’s soft and warm and she thinks Alex could pull off a strap-on and she’s practically begging for a kiss (which Alex immediately gives her, of course, she’s not a monster), and how could Alex possibly resist?
How could anyone, really?
Those cool lesbians simply have never had Kelly Olsen’s bedroom eyes directed at them.
“Wanna go on-line shopping?” Alex whispers between the second kiss and the third, grinning when Kelly’s fingers slide into her hair, “I bet they have same-day delivery.”
Kelly chuckles, light and sweet against Alex’s lips and fully obliterating whatever crumbs of coolness Alex may have had left. “In a rush, are we?”
“Lil bit, yeah,” Alex freely admits, a bit too taken with the way Kelly smiles at her to care if she’s proving once again she’s not the coolest where her girlfriend is involved. But, again — how could anyone resist? Kelly shifts on the couch, smoothly readjusting their position until she’s on her back with Alex on top of her, and Alex is pretty sure she’s peaked. Life simply doesn’t get any better than this.
(Alex has thought she’s peaked, on average, around twice a day since she started dating Kelly. Don’t you dare judge her.)
Kelly’s neck smells faintly of lavender when Alex trails kisses up warm skin towards the spot right behind Kelly’s ear.
“Soap thief,” she whispers, teeth gently nipping and making Kelly let out a sound that falls somewhere between a laugh and a gasp, “for shame.”
Kelly doesn’t answer right away. She lets Alex bask in the feeling of having the upper hand for a few seconds, slips her own hands under Alex’s shirt to grab at the solid muscles on her back, spreads her legs so Alex’s thigh can slot between them… and then she speaks.
“Will your cock be lavender too?”
Alex makes a sound. Unfortunately, because it’s neither sexy nor dignified. She sputters, really. Nearly chokes on her own breath. In her defense… well, honestly, she doesn’t think she needs a defense. Who wouldn’t be disarmed by her girlfriend, all warm and soft and rocking against her thigh with purpose, suddenly bringing up lavender cocks?
Come on now.
“W— would you like it lavender?” Alex manages to ask, voice slightly higher than normal as she pushes herself up on her hands to look into Kelly’s eyes. And maybe also to shift her weight onto her knee, her thigh pressing a little harder between Kelly’s legs. “Do you want it lavender?”
“Baby,” Kelly sighs and arches her back just slightly — just enough to make the column of her neck impossible to resist, so Alex presses an open-mouthed kiss to Kelly’s throat and feels the words vibrate against her lips as they come out, “I want it yours.”
***
Alex’s brain doesn’t fully recover until nearly two hours later, when she’s sitting at her desk staring at the tracking website for the package they will be receiving at some point within that same day.
Technology, right? What a wonderful thing.
“Are you still watching that?” Kelly’s tone is teasing as she walks out of the bathroom brushing her fingers through her freshly washed, still wet hair. “Are you expecting it to just teleport here by sheer force of will?”
Alex shrugs. She’s familiar enough with Martian tech to hold out hope for that happening. And honestly, considering the requests Kelly made regarding size while choosing the (lavender, yes) toy, Alex is pretty sure not even staring unblinkingly at her screen fully qualifies her as the most eager person in the room.
“You know it won’t be here for at least a couple hours,” Kelly insists, “but I know just how we could fill the time.”
It’s like a switch has been flipped. One second Alex is staring at the screen, and the next she’s pretty much forgotten there’s a package to receive. Alex wouldn’t call the look on Kelly’s eyes flirty, exactly, but it’s certainly something. Playful, maybe. Is playful better than flirty?
Alex is oh-so-ready to find out.
“Yeah?” Alex says, already on her feet and moving towards Kelly.
Kelly nods, eyes practically sparkling as she sits on the couch once again.
And Alex, of course, follows her.
Who wouldn’t?
Kelly kisses her first. Something short and sweet that leaves Alex smiling and hoping for a reprise. But instead, Kelly speaks.
“We can watch Imagine Me & You.”
Alex groans, and she’d be lying if she said there isn’t at least a bit of dramatic flair involved in the intensity of her despair. “Kelly! I told you I don’t like romcoms!”
“But you love romance!” Kelly motions in the general direction of the shelf that’s nearly overflowing with little mementos of their life together. A box full of movie theater tickets, a dried flower from the first time they celebrated Valentine’s day, the cork from the first bottle of wine they drank in their home… and the collection is very much maintained (and steadily grown) by Alex. “How can you not like romantic comedies? They should be right up your alley.”
“I like real romance. Not… fake, decaf romance.”
And it’s not a controversial statement, Alex thinks. It’s pretty much common sense. There’s real life, and then there’s movies. There’s real romance — the kind that makes her laugh and cry and get butterflies in her stomach — and then there’s Hollywood’s version of romance, which feels hollow most of the time. Everyone knows that, right?
So why is Kelly looking at her like she’s just cracked some kind of code?
“What? Stop being creepy. I liked it better when you were judging me earlier.”
“But you like big dramatic romance movies,” Kelly prods, “right?”
“Well, sure, but that’s different.”
“Because…” Kelly nods encouragingly.
“I don’t know, Kel. I guess because rom-coms are just kinda…” Alex sighs, “I don’t know.”
“Insubstantial?” Kelly offers, “hard to engage with beyond mindless entertainment? Alienating, even, in a way?”
“Right!” Freaking finally, Kelly gets it. Alex isn’t weird. This is a universal phenomenon, obviously. “Exactly! Exactly that.”
“Honey,” Kelly pats the back of Alex’s hand affectionately, voice down to just barely above a whisper, “that’s ‘cause you’re gay.”
Alex scoffs, somewhere between amused and outraged. “That doesn’t even make any sense.”
Kelly’s eyes narrow just slightly. There’s a glint to them that Alex knows very well. It’s the look Kelly gets when she knows she’s right.
“Tell you what,” Kelly says, leaning over to grab the remote from the coffee table and then leaning against Alex’s side as she turns on the tv, “you watch this one movie with me, indulge my scientific curiosity, and if you haven’t changed your mind by the end I’ll drop the subject forever.”
It’s not a bad offer. Alex purses her lips and pretends to think about it very seriously anyway, just because it’s one thing to be thoroughly whipped when it comes to her girlfriend, but it’s a whole different story to not even try to pretend she can put her foot down once in a while.
Besides, she loves the way Kelly’s face lights up when Alex finally (inevitably) says yes.
“Okay, fine,” Alex sighs just to offset the sheer size of her heart eyes when Kelly does, in fact, light up, “one movie.”
Kelly practically flies through their streaming options, clearly more than familiar with the location of Imagine Me & You. And there are so many questions Alex could ask. So many ways she could poke fun at her girlfriend for what’s clearly a bit of a fangirly obsession. But right when Kelly presses play, Alex notices something that pulls her attention in an entirely different direction.
“Piper Perabo! Oh, I love her,” she sighs, wrapping an arm around Kelly’s shoulders as her girlfriend snuggles into her preferred movie-watching position, “I watched Coyote Ugly a million times as a teen. My mom ended up getting me the DVD so I’d stop renting it every single week.”
Kelly chuckles lightly, draping one arm across Alex’s waist. “And that didn’t give you any hints that you might have been a bit gay?”
Alex shrugs. Whether she’d been really oblivious or just in denial, she’s at a point in her life and her journey now where she can make a bit of fun of her teenage self. “What can I say? My gaydar’s never been the most finely tuned.”
“Yeah, no kidding. Just look at the Kara thing.”
“The what now?” Alex looks away from the screen to stare at Kelly instead. As far as she’s aware — and she’s a very observant vigilante, mind you — there’s no such thing as ‘the Kara thing’, whatever that means. And what would that have to do with her (lack of a) gaydar, anyway? “What Kara thing?”
“Nothing,” Kelly points at the screen, “watch the movie.”
“No, what did you me— is that Cersei Lannister?”
“Oh, yeah. She’s so good in this. I may have a bit of a crush.”
“On Cersei freaking Lannister, Kel?” Alex lets out an amused chuckle. “I’m honestly not sure how I feel about that.”
“Will you please just watch the movie?”
“Fine, fine, sheesh,” Alex moves her hand down Kelly’s side just to gently poke at a particularly ticklish spot, “but I can’t promise I won’t be too freaked out about Cersei to fully focus.”
But there’s Piper Perabo in a beautiful wedding dress flashing a beautiful smile, and really, not even Cersei Lannister being on the receiving end of that smile can stop Alex from getting sucked into the movie and what’s happening in it.
She watches a ring fall into a punch bowl and exchanged looks and smiles. She hears, much to her surprise, unspoken lines between Piper Perabo and Cersei Lannister that make her smile at the screen because yeah— yeah, she’s been there. She’s smiled like that. She’s felt like that. She’s so enthralled by the movie that it’s only when she feels herself laugh at Cersei’s friend calling herself ecstatic that she realizes she’s been quiet for a while.
“Ok, that was funny. Most rom-coms aren’t even really coms.”
“You’re enjoying this,” Kelly says, her voice full of teasing glee.
Alex feels color rise to her cheeks. “Will you please just watch the movie?”
Kelly doesn’t argue this time.
There’s a science presentation in the dark, pinky fingers nearly touching, a very questionable choice at the movie rental place — “oh, no, you don’t want to learn from Georgie’s Bush” — and then there’s a date.
Alex feels Kelly hold her a little tighter when Rachel asks Luce — who cares about Cersei Lannister, anyway? — to put both her arms around her, and she feels herself smile like a fool when the lily’s meaning is shared. And then. Then there’s almost a kiss, but not quite, and Rachel barging into the flower shop, and Alex is fully invested now. There’s simply no turning back.
“Oh! Oh, no, Rachel, it can’t be over!” She says out loud, because this poor conflicted woman clearly needs advice. “Don’t leave her— oh, she’s back!”
Alex has seen so many on-screen kisses. So many.
She’s watched hundreds of love stories, from cartoons to dark thrillers and everything in between. She’s been having regular movie nights with Kara since she was a teenager, and most times the chosen movie has at least one romantic storyline, if not several.
But this.
This lands somewhere deep inside her chest. And when the kiss ends because Luce has thorns in her bum, Alex realizes there are tears running down her face.
“You all right, baby?” Kelly shifts to press a kiss to Alex’s cheek, catching a tear with her lips.
“Uh huh,” Alex nods. And then she stops nodding. She even stops holding Kelly, because she needs both hands to cover her eyes. “Oh, God. Oh, not him. I can’t watch this.”
But she does anyway. Through the spaces between her fingers at first, and then fully because one of her hands is covering her mouth now, the other holding Kelly once again.
“Don’t tell her to go!” She says, voice watery and just a little shaky as she struggles to keep herself together. But it lasts only as long as it takes for Luce to ask Rachel to remember her, because, “she won’t—“ Alex hiccups, “she won’t remember anything else, Kel.”
“I know, honey.”
Alex nods. She’s crying now. Really crying. Watching Rachel tell her sleeping husband doesn’t help, and neither does her conversation with her parents — though it does pull a watery chuckle out of Alex — or Luce’s talk to her mom. She’s still crying when people pile into a car and start chasing Luce’s cab, because she knows this is going to have a happy ending. Right? That’s the beauty of romantic comedies.
“Oh, the song!” She stage whispers, pointing at the screen when the cyclist rides past the car, and then gasps when Rachel climbs onto the roof of the car. “She’s gonna do it, isn’t she? She’s gonna call number nine a wanker for her lady?”
“A bit cheesy, huh?”
Alex’s eyes widen in utter disbelief. “Cheesy?” She tears her eyes away from the screen once that last kiss is over just to shoot Kelly an indignant look. “How dare you.”
Kelly chuckles, something soft and quiet as she rearranges herself on the couch to free her hands so she can help wipe tears from Alex’s face. “So? What did you think?”
Alex sniffles. She’s not quite done crying yet, but she can still try and maintain at least a crumb of dignity after spectacularly losing this particular argument. “All right,” she concedes, shrugging one shoulder like she’s not at all still a bit weepy over Piper Perabo getting her girl, “it was okay.”
“Yeah?” Kelly reaches for the tissue box on the coffee table and holds it so Alex can take one (or five).
“It wasn’t awful,” Alex says, blowing her nose, and then contemplates simply leaving it at that. But she can’t help herself. “Can we watch more?”
Kelly grins. “More romantic comedies?”
“You know what I mean.”
“I know what you mean,” Kelly echoes, pressing a lingering kiss to Alex’s lips, “we can start a bit of a sapphic movie night tradition. We can ask Kara and Lena to join in.”
Well, that’s weird. Don’t get her wrong, Alex loves her sister and Lena and watching movies together, but she’s not following Kelly’s leap from sapphic cinema to them. And her confusion must be written all over her face, because Kelly explains even before Alex can ask.
“You know. To expand their film horizons.” There’s something in Kelly’s tone that makes Alex feel like there’s more to it than that, but she’s a bit busy dealing with her post-movie emotions to investigate. “Besides, Lena always brings amazing wine when we have them over.”
Alex is about to agree — Lena does have excellent taste in wine — but the doorbell distracts her before she can.
The doorbell.
Same-day delivery.
“Oh, it’s here!” Kelly practically leaps to her feet, pressing the button to let the delivery person in and standing by the door to wait for them to make their way upstairs.
“Dammit, Kel. Look at me,” Alex sniffles and grabs a handful of tissues to try and fully dry her face, “how am I supposed to — and I quote — ‘fuck you into the mattress’ like this?”
Kelly winks at her just as the doorbell rings. “Trust me, baby. I’ll help you with that.”
And you know what? Alex has no reason to doubt that she will.

Do you think the fandom has a good grasp on who Sylvie is?
I was rereading fanfic and some posts on here, because I’m obsessed, and I realized that everyone in their stories had sylvie freaking out in the ambo crash and bursting into tears when she saw Matt (even having a panic attack in one). Yet she did none of that 👀 she got Mackey and herself out of the ambo and then helped Halleck. She was completely calm and collected.
I also read some post saying sylvie would break down when she had another gun pointed at her, but she took it so well and was ordering halleck around? No past trauma coming to light at all. She handled it like a boss.
A lot of people also thought she would be mad and yell at Casey for putting himself in danger when he jumped out of 81, but she looked so touched that he was willing to do that for her?
I’m not too sure if I’m reading too much into it, but people are making her out to be so overly emotional and she’s not? Like in all the fics it’s always “sylvie felt tears come to her eyes, or her eyes shined with tears”. Like no? That’s not her.
Also this one is kinda dumb, but in fics sylvie is always the cold one who uses Matt as a heater, but she’s usually the only one who takes her coat off when at Molly’s patio? Everyone is bundled up but she’s not? Maybe because she’s from Indiana? 🤷‍♀️
I know fic and posts on here are opinion pieces, but I’m questioning if people actually grasp Sylvie’s true character.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this 😅 it’s been floating in my brain for a while.
Damn I love a thought out ask!
Like most things with interpretation and fandom, there are a few ways this could be answered.
First, I do not think Sylvie is fragile. Maybe it’s the Hoosier in her, or the farm girl, or just who she is at her core, but there is something solid there. Made me think of that “porcelain, ivory, steel” analogy.
I think that everyone who write fic, puts a little bit of themselves into to words, and so when other (or even me) might see something as OOC there is usually a reason. It might not make sense to anyone else, but for them, something they saw on the show made their brain go “that would be an acceptable reaction”.
Now, I’m thinking through things I’ve written - I know that I have definitely had her cry a few times, even stomp her foot in frustration, but - I think Sylvie has always been portrayed as calm under pressure. Good in the action, and more reserved in her emotional/personal life. Not that she doesn’t share herself, but (and I know I’ve said this on a post about Sylvie and trauma) she also does something where she appears very open and engaged with the people around her while actively not sharing her hurt. It’s a coping mechanism! It’s one I use, so I noticed it right away. It’s just this upfront action, here’s a smile and a little bit about me, enough so that you can’t see the mess.
One thing I will say, is that even when I watch the show I sometimes feel like important things are being ignored or missed - like the actual writers don’t get the characters they’re working with. That’s because shows go through changes, actors leave, love stories get rewritten, writers cycle through, people forget the details that the audience connected with.
With Sylvie it’s a bit more complex.
There is her physical representation: people are never really prepared for the slight, blonde, blue eyed woman to be physically competent. But we have seen Sylvie kick out a windshield to escape, we’ve seen her hold a gun to her attackers, we’ve seen her hold the weight of a drugged out girl up while she waited for rescue. Hell, we’ve seen her weld shit. We should not be surprised that just because she doesn’t grab a hose and run into fires that she isn’t physically strong.
Her emotional representation: Sylvie is hyper aware of emotions. Hers, 51, patients. She takes on a lot emotionally because of this. She can coax someone towards calm - the kids in the fire/hostage situation, Logan Miller running for bad guys, even the times she has been in danger her calm exterior has usually desecalated the situation. This ties into her physical representation because people usually don’t see a threat in the slight, blonde, blue eyed women. We’ve seen her grow her emotional maturity, going from crying over a call alone in her car to reaching to people in the house to talk things through. Because she’s so in tune with emotions, she checks in with others - and here’s the kicker, she can turn her emotions of. When she decided to stay on shift regardless of Halleck, but checked in in Mackey. When she just gets the job done then deals with the threat. I think this situation with Matt is the first time she has had a really hard time turning off the emotions. Even when she and Sheffield broke up, she was able to distract herself, but with Matt this is to close to heartbreak.
One of the only times we’ve seen a really big dramatic™️ scene from Sylvie that didn’t really make sense was the plot line around her possibly being pregnant. Knowing what we know, her adoption story, what was happening with Antonio, and that hormones are the worst, we can understand that some of that was out of place but not out of character.
With every fandom there are fics that have insane kudos and people always talk about, but that some readers just don’t connect with. Honestly, that is why I started writing Brettsey - I saw first the lack of fic, and second that when there was sometimes fic I didn’t connect with the characters like I did on my tv screen.
Part of this, I’m sure, is also that Sylvie has been around for a while, but was typically a B storyline character. We’ve had 7 seasons with her, she’s the longest running female character in Chicago Fire, but her importance was really ranked up in season 7/8/9 as far as who she was interacting with.
At the end of the day, I love Sylvie. I think that she is an expressive, complex, silly, caring, smart, dedicated, loving character who would step in front of anyone who had a gun pointed at them. I think everyone gets a little something different from her - and that’s okay! Art/tv/fic is a little about interpretation, so not everyone will share the same feelings or view.
This happenes in real life too, sometimes a new friend will find their way into your friend group, and your kill bill sirebs are engaged, but everyone else is chill with them. There has to be that give and take.
Keep reading! Keep writing! Keep watching! But most important, keep thinking, because at the end of the day the ability to discern when someone is not being portrayed in a way you feel is authentic shows tremendous engagement and thought.

The Color of my Soul(mates) [2]
[First oneshot]
[AO3 link]
Kanene’s Notes:
Nope, I do not regret the pun. New oneshot yaaaay!! Just a quick reminder that both Virgil and Patton’s mindsets are bad. They can work, of course, but only for a certain expense. Worry not. They will both start to go to a therapist and take care of themselves, even though this will not be heavily shown in the oneshots.
Warnings, fun facts, random things and stuff:
* That fanfic has Moxiety and Past Moceit and Past Virgil/Remus (no idea how it’s called dfghjdfghj) in a platonic relationship (yet), but it can be viewed as romantic, if you wish.
* Swearing, depreciative thoughts, losing someone (not death, just stopping to be soulmate), anger issues, anxious thoughts and nightmares. It’s hurt/comfort.
* [~*~]  Means passage of time
* [...] Means change in the focus of the narrative
* This characters do not belongs to me. They all belongs to the amazing Thomas Sanders in his series of Sanders Sides.
* Something around 5.300 words. -w-)b.
* Sorry for any spelling, pontuation and grammar mistakes! Any advice is very very welcome!
* Tô com preguiça de postar a versão em português brasileiro aaaa! Thankys for reading, my lollipops! Say to someone important how much you love them, be safe, talk with the one that you love, drink water and sleep well! Byeioo!~

[~*~]
Hey, Dee! It’s been some time, huh? Nothing really happened around here, so I have no interesting news to share today. Buut, I learned a new knock knock joke! I would finally get you to laugh with this one! It’s like that:
Me: Knock, knock.
U: Who’s there?
Me: Ice cream.
U: Ice cream who?
Me: Ice cream if you don’t let me in!
Funny, right?!
… It feels silly to continue to talk with you through those letters. I can’t-
I don’t even know where to send them! That is stup- not great.
I just… I just miss you, Dee. A lot. My uncle says that I should get your old representation out of the bed and hide it so I can start moving on, but… It feels empty, you know? Everything.
I really miss you.
Love, Heart.
[…]
“No.”
His words echoed in his mind, the strap of his backpack slipping from his grip, his body throwing itself forward, heart jumping in the back of his throat as his steps inevitably brought him even closer to the faded green, almost white, shark plushie in front of him.
“No.”
He repeated, as if this was a spell able to make the scene before him change. His hands trembled and failed in touching the so loved object, a silent scream slipping from his slightly parted lips. Yet, he still tried to think of something. Anything that would erase his choices. He knew it.
He should have known. He read about it before, the butterfly effect. Any choice, any movement, any little thing you did could change drastically your future. It could make events – people – which would happen in your life just…
Disappear.
[The stuffed animal remained quiet on his hands, it’s blank face staring superficially, not really seeing him. Not like before.]
He knew it.
“Rat?” He knew it. He knew it. He knew, knew, knewknewknew it! “Ree?” His soul searched desperate for an answer. But he got none. No thoughts, no feelings, no small touches, no acknowledging sparks, nothing.
That word seemed to ring unbearably in his ears. There was nothing there. Nothing except for the silence and the void which filled itself with despair at every that went by.
“This better not be a prank or this time I will throw you in the washing machine for real!” Virgil’s eyes were stinging. He should have done better, should have thought in another way or another anything. He shouldn’t have done that, he shouldn’t!
“Ree, stop. That is not funny.” Ree actually preferred when Virgil called him Rat, and as his chest was scratched by an agonizing, crescent fear, deep down the young boy wished his soulmate would jump – his thoughts always felt like that, excited, uncontrollable jumpy frogs just playing around – from somewhere and demands Virgil called him by it. “Answer me!!”
His fingers squished the soft fabric, a short, unexpected wave of anger pleading for at least a shout of pain before Virgil realized what he was doing, immediately lighting his touch, tears shining in a sad gloom in the corner of his eyes. His breathing started to hurt.
He needed to do something.
“MOM!!”
Virgil opened his door with a strong slam, running through the wooded floor of the corridor, stumbling his way to the stairs, coming down at the highest speed he could muster. The adult figure was already standing in the living room, the Tv blasting a show in the background, probably the activity his mother was concentrating on before his cry. A frown painted her face and her dark eyes stared at the boy when he stood in front of her, holding his stuffed shark in her direction.
“Fix him!”
[‘it’ a quiet whisper from his brain corrected his sentence.]
Her analytical eyes danced around the toy in front of her, looking for any teared fabric, any stain or hint of what happened to it, the confusion in her actions becoming more and more prominent as no visible result was found.
[And, as her analysis occurred, the quiet whisper in the back of his mind wondered if this was the original color of the shark before it became a representation of his soulmate. They were together for so long Virgil didn’t even remember what it used to look like.]
No! The boy with heterochromatic eyes firmly gritted his teeth, head shaking. This was NOT the shark’s real color. Its real color was a dark, deep, enthusiastic green full of chaotic ideas and dumb jokes and sparks and grins.
He refused to let everything end in this way.
Realization fell in her face, a soft gasp coming from her open mouth. “Oh, Virgil…”
“No, no, no! You- You need to fix him!” But her eyes… “Mom, please,” the way her arms opened to involve his small, trembling form…
“Please, he is my best friend.”
[‘Was’]
She hugged him, cradling her fingers in his hair and lightly rocking Virgil and his sobs, her sweet words muffled by his cry. Then the younger one wiggled out of her touch, getting the plushie and running back to his room, the door slamming one more time.
He refused.
“No! No!!” He kicked his backpack, its content spreading across his carpeted floor. The shark was placed in his desk seconds before the Virgil focused his anger on his bed, throwing everything on the floor. His pillows hit the walls and the toys on his shelves. The cacophony of sounds made his head hurt, but he ignored this in order to kick and throw more things.
Seconds, minutes, countless pieces of time passed before he stopped, panting and with stinging eyes in the middle of the room, his only possessions left untouched was his guitar and Ra- His shark stuffed animal.
Because he loves playing guitar. Because he loves Ree.
His fingers pet its soft fur, wandering in every detail, trying to burn in his soul how alive and colored it used to be before today.
Virgil felt like crying, felt like hugging his old-representation with all his might and just spent the rest of the day like this, pleading that Ree would come back and Virgil would do better and everything could be back to normal again.
But he refused.
He refused to cry like a baby. He refused to let this happen to him. He refused to be made a fool by the Soulmate System or whatever sadistic creature that observed him right now. He refused to go through all of this again.
Ever again.
Virgil opened his closet and got up on his chair, hiding the shark on the highest shelf under a bunch of old comforts he never got to use.
They wanted him to be a Colorless? Very well, then.

[~*~]
Hiya, Dee.
Some days are better, some are worse.
It hurts.
But, hm, good things, right? Today was sunny and refreshing, I love when this happens. A ladybug landed in my hand yesterday, it was so small… I also found another beautiful feather when I went to the park last weekend, very fluffy and a baby on the bus smiled at me after I made some funny faces.
I hope you’re also receiving and giving some beautiful smiles there. Aunt just called me for the movie night so… See you later!
I miss-
Love, Heart.
[…]
Virgil woke up sweating. A tight feeling clutching the back of his mind. However, he managed to catch himself before his eyes opened, the back of his hand pressing them, as if to make sure they wouldn’t open against his will.
Urg… Not this again…
Virgil pressed harder the pillow curling around his head, the pressure easing the irritation as he groaned in protest, wondering how much more time it would take before he finally grew used to this routine. An annoying sensation banged rhythmically on his chest, hammering together with his heart and flying along with the butterflies on his stomach over and over again until a slightly nausea almost leaded the one in pajamas to give up and just find the nearest stuffed animal so his soulmate’s bond could finally be initiated, his representation showed up and then the exhausted teen could finally get some freaking rest  and then proceed to turn a blind eye to his soulmate for the rest of their lives.
Who would say that ignoring the Soulmate System would be so hard?
But, damn, even if this shit always came back at the right moment when the first ray of sunshine hit his face, usually Virgil had at least the freedom of the night to sleep!
His hand wandered clumsily, hitting the bean bag next to his bed and looking for the small device he always left there for the night. He sighs when his fingers make contact with the cold of his phone, quickly bringing it up to his face and making sure nothing else could get in his eye field. On the third try he succeeded to put the right password, ignoring the video shining on it and quickly lowering the brightness of his screen until it was almost nonexistent.
Four in the morning. What the heck was his not-for-much-longer-soulmate doing up at this hour??
Ok. It didn’t matter, Virgil murmured to himself, his words slurring, completely engulfed by the fog of sleepiness which continued to involve him. It didn’t matter because Virgil was sure he would manage to win that battle, just like he did on every other occasion since Ree. Of course, he never had a perfect receipt for this, only a group of superficial orientations as focusing on something else, tossing around the mattress until the exhaustion took over his body or doing anything that guaranteed his suborn nature to fight until the bond faded away with some hours, maybe one or two days.
However, this one was about to complete a whole week and his resolution was beginning to weaken, escaping between his fingers regardless of how much he fought to hold it with tooth and nails. The mild headache growing on him was the proof of this.
He flipped his pillow, letting its cold surface rest on his face, adjusting himself to lay starfished onto the bed.
He needed distractions.
Songs. He liked to listen to music a lot, something he would be very much inclined to do now if it wasn’t so late and his earphones were so far away. But, stopping to think about it, it was crazy how sounds work, like, even if they’re far away they manage to be heard. Pretty much like that weird sound captured by that boat who was only minding its business… The Bloop. Heh. The Bloop. Such a stupid name… He wondered if it was a Jurassic animal doing that and when humanity would be finally able to answer his question. If it is really an animal will they call him Bloop? That is a horrible name to give to something probably gigantic and scary… Bloop… Bloopers… blooo...
His muscles from his toes to the tip of his fingers began to relax, his breathing becoming more erratic as the trail of nonsense thoughts led him away from reality and straight to the cloak of Morpheus. Bit by bit he started to be unaware of his room. First the faint sound of his spider quietly scraping the sand on her terrarium, second the sensation of the pillow on his face, then the cold of his phone as it slipped away from his hand…
And, unsupervised by the teenager's eyes, his index finger hit the ‘play’ button on the video, and the blasting of Aquiles Priester’s drums filled the room in a hot shot, followed in the same second by Virgil’s hoarse scream. The confusion and sound making the one with heterochromatic eyes stumble to a sit position, blankets and pillows falling from him as his astonished movements tried to be coordinated enough to turn off his phone before his mother woke up and decided to know why and what her son was doing up at four-darn-morning.
The button was hit and the silence was faster in cover the room all over again, being only broken by Virgil’s shaken gasps, his trembling fingers laying on his adulterated heartbeats, taking large, wobbly deep breaths in order to normalize it, his attention entirely focused on hearing any hint of muffled step outside his room.
In. Hold. Out.
In. Hold. Out.
He was fine. Everything was fine.
This was only a scare.
In. Hold. Out.
In. Hold. Out.
Okay. No sound. Virgil allowed himself to fall on his bed, stretching and humming in attempts to ground him to reality, not taking too long to let the sleepiness begin to slowly crawl to his mind again, his body feeling surprisingly much lighter than it had been in days. A yawn escaped from his lips. What the hell he was doing with his cell phone anyway?
For the second time in the night his body fled to a sitting position, the sudden calm and coziness which hit his senses now having a slightly sour taste on his mouth as the teenager realized what it meant.
His soulmate bond was complete.
His gaze flew to the small pile of fabric on the floor, a glint of a sky-blue color shining amidst it. He pushed his blankets away and his breath hitched when the full form of his soulmate’s representation was shown.
Oh no. Nononono. That was-
That wasn’t normal. Nor supposed to happen. Oh shit. Shitshitshitshit. What could he do?
Virgil dropped – carefully, even if the cold on the bottom of his stomach screamed for him to run! – the object on his bed, getting across the room and right in front of his closet in a blink of an eye. The door flung open, his gaze scrambling through all his possessions in search of that specific teddy bear his mother gave him a year ago, telling it was going to help him to heal, grabbing it firmly and plopping it next to the blue fabric calmly laying on his mattress. He bit his nails while his eyes ran from an object to another, waiting for the color to somewhat jump on the plushie, where it was supposed to go in the first place.
Virgil stared inquisitively at his pillow- no, his soulmate’s representation, as if he could scare the reality into changing itself. His fingers ran through his hair, feet pacing on the floor.
Ok. His soulmate was a pillow. A literal pillow. That was not good.
Before he could fall on his parasitizing thoughts or hide the pillow and pretend nothing had happened, a badly muffled sound reached him, making his body freeze as his brain immediately recognized what it was:
Crying.

Hey, dear! Heart here again! It’s been a time, huh? I discovered a new Pet Shop nearby and a very nice old lady let me play with the puppies after school. You really should see the hamsters there! They’re the cutest, most precious soft things!!
They don’t have any snakes, sadly.
I… I hid your teddy bear and I’m getting used to not stare at the right corner of the mattress, looking for you.
I still miss your smooth thoughts, your warmth, your advice and receipts and… you.
I think I’m getting better. The sensation is starting to feel… normal.
Remember we-
I used to-
I know you won’t really read this, but I’m trying to keep taking care of myself.
Hooray?

[…]
Patton loved stuffed animals and this was a fact that anyone who got into his room for barely two seconds would realize. Small plushies of multicolored frogs rested on his shelves. A big polite giraffe sat on his desk, proudly showing off her new necktie and his older ones were in the closet, guarding his favorites clothes. His soulmates, of course, had a special treatment, receiving a seat on his bed, closer to him and within his research at any occasion, emergency or not.
And that was an emergency. Well…technically.
Maybe…
Perhaps not.
The teenager changed to a sitting position, his fingers trapping the mattress in a deadly grip, tears falling from his eyes, which was firmly focused on the moon shaped night light across his room, trying to kick out the too cold, too hot feeling the nightmare left on his skin.
His brain felt fuzzy and his thoughts were all mushed together, way too messy to properly fight against the memories of his dream replaying on his head. The sensation of pure despair still running on his veins as the monster – tall, fast, its shadow hovering over his small form – chased him and his friends. Patton still felt his throat dry after running for what seemed hours, and for when he realized they would never manage to actually escape from it. He could feel the betrayed eyes of his loved ones as he made each one of them trip, the small period when the monster got them giving him enough time to escape, the screams ringing on his ears.
He muffled his sobs, slapping his hand on his mouth and getting up, going to his closet and grabbing his panda. It was one of the fluffiest stuffed animals he had and he could use a bit of softness right now. His steps were tired and he hid his face on the plushie even before laying on his bed again, curling around the bear as if it was the core of safeness, as if it would make all the bad thoughts and feelings go away.
As if it could erase all the nightmare and convince the part of his mind which said that if it was real life, that would be exactly what he would do, that it was wrong.
It was! It was completely wrong! Patton would never, ever, betray his friends, or hurt them, or go away when they needed most! He wouldn’t. He would fight, if it was needed. He would do his best every single time to help them! To be there. He wouldn’t just run away. He couldn’t. He couldn’t be alone. He didn’t even bear that thought.
[A part of his soul struggled, firm on its position. It kept holding into a bond that directed to another soul who kept pushing him away, both refusing to change their mind.]
Bear. Patton let go of a weak, barely audible, forced giggle, squeezing the panda on his touch tighter. Panda was a bear. Heh. His tears began to calm themselves, falling slower from the corner of his eyes, a strange and sudden wave of strange, but welcomed calmness hitting him.
A sudden warm touch laid on his forehead.
“Hey, are you okay?”
Patton gasped, his wide eyes flying open to stare at the now purple plushie on his grip.
Purple. Pandas weren’t purple. He was sure this one was always white with black dots and tiny glasses on it. Definitely not purple. Not unless it was-
Oh.
Ohhh.
Oh no.
For a moment his breath was taken, adrenaline exploded across his body and his mind went blank, his face stumbling forward to press his lips on the panda’s forehead, a completely lack of words, especially when a flow of sentences began to appear running over themselves and leading to his very tired brain to struggle in order to try to grasp their meaning before another phrase came and took its place.
[His body seemed to relax, letting go of a ball of tension Patton didnt even realize he had in the first place.]
“Fuck, sorry, that was pretty dumb. Of course you’re not fine, why else would you be crying? What I was trying to say is: Can you get better? No, wait! That sounded harsh and it’s definitely not what I meant- wanted to say. Ehh, shit. Okay. Uhh. Breath, okay? Breathing is a good thing. You have to breathe to stay alive so I think it’s already a good start. Keep breathing, please do not die. Oh god, wait, that is not a dangerous situation, is it? Are you in danger? Are you dying? Oh, fuck I can’t hear-”
A startled giggle made a run from Patton’s lips, making his new soulmate to be quiet.
“Urg, sorry.”
“No, no. I was not laughing at you!” He adjusted his grip so the only part touching the purple bear would be him holding one of his paws, realizing he forgot to stop hugging him earlier. “I am okay. I just… didn’t want to cry on you, sorry.”
“It’s okay. I don’t, huh, care.”
“Crazy how bonds happen nowadays.” Patton attempted a joke, feeling suddenly a bit vulnerable, internally wishing the other wouldn’t ask about the reason for his tears. “It-It’s hot today, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, with the Sun and everything.”
“Yeepp.” Patton sniffed, cleaning the tear track left on his cheeks before resting his back on the bed’s headboard, a beginning of a headache after that waterfall of emotions shining in the horizon.
“...Do you want to listen to a song? It helps me to calm down when I’m, ya know.”
“Oh, don’t worry, I’m already a bit better.”
“Ok, sorry.”
“Don’t be.” Maybe it was sleepiness or the excitement of having a new soulmate, but before he could think much more about it the hidden truth was slipping from his mouth, “I’m grounded. No phone for the week.”
“That sucks.” The teenager just shrugged, hoping his soulmate would understand the action by his movement.
Silence impregnated the room, spreading and filling his system, his eyelashes closing bit by bit.
“I know how to play guitar. I can… play a song for you. Onlyifyouwantofcourse.” The thought was quick, quiet and disappeared as soon as it arrived, leading Patton to almost believe he imagined it.
A good feeling bloomed in his chest, a smile flourishing on his face as he held his soulmate’s free hand, carefully squeezing them in what he hoped it showed his gratitude.
“I would love to.”
“’Kay. Uh, cool. Give me a second.”
And then a few minutes later his form was engulfed by warmth. Patton let go a sigh of relief, basically melting in the so caring touch, don't having the heart - that word gave a hurtful tug in his chest - to remember his new soulmate he couldn't really hear the accords, only the shy, calming humming rumbling on his chest and lullabying them to a peaceful sleep.

[~*~]
"How can I call you?"
Patton stopped his voice before that old nickname got out, scratching his throat. He should try to move on, right?
Baby steps.
"Pat."
"Pat?"
"Pat-Pat!"
Virgil rolled his eyes, denying the small smile which appeared on the corner of his mouth.
“You can call me V.”
[…]
“So, you’re a pillow.”
Patton blinked, a surprised snort filling the room. “V, I know I often say I’m soft but if you wanted to rest on me all you needed to do was ask!” He added some shadowing on some feathers, giving the drawing of the Bem-te-Vi more profundity. He was really happy he found that site about the birds of America.
“No, I mean literally. Like… your representation is not a stuffed animal, it’s a pillow.”
“Oooh…” He blinked a few times. “I didn’t know that still happens.”
“What do you mean with ‘still happens’? This happened to you before?”
“Not with me, but I saw a video about this! Before the plushies became famous due their shape being easier to be seen as human-like, the bond would form in anything that could be quickly dyed, just like clothes, pieces of fabric, pillows… I think if they showed it to a doctor, he would describe their condition as ‘comfortable!’” Patton shook lightly the panda’s shoulder, smiling. “Uh? Got it? Comfortable? Because they’re soft?”
“Pat, that was horrible.”
“Awww, come oon.” Patton rested his chin on V’s head, forgetting his drawing for a while. “Puns are harder than knock knock jokes! You have to wait for the perfect timing to make them.” Virgil huffed. “Not even an itsy bitsy giggle?”
“Nope.”
Silence.
“Pat?”
“No. I am pouting.”
He felt a couple of pats (ha-) on his head, the touching going away in a few seconds. “You will get there some day.” The other answered his soulmate with a raspberry, giggling a bit of his own silliness before going back to his hobby. He really was planning to finish this bird today.
“The thing is… Since you’re, ya know, a pillow. I was thinking… okay, I know that this will sound weird but… I was thinking of putting some clothes on your representation so I can… try to see you better.”
“Ah.”
“Only if you’re comfortable, sure!”
“No, no. I am! It’s just…” Patton bit his lips, lightly squeezing the shell of his ear with the hand that wasn’t holding the pencil, adjusting his body to a better sitting position. “What clothes do you have in mind? Not that I think your taste is bad or you don’t know how to choose good clothes or something like that!”
“No, it’s cool!” The thought came in the moment Patton forced himself to stop his nervous talking. “I wanted to ask you because of that, I, uh, have black t-shirts, jeans, an old grey hoodie, PJs, clothes when I was a kid, onesies, maybe I can get a dress?”
“Gasp. Do you have onesies?? Aww, I want!”
“Everyone has a onesie.” Virgil mumbled in defense, feeling his cheeks getting hot. “I have a skeleton one, a raccoon and the Toothless from How to Tra-”
“OHMYGOSH YOU HAVE TOOTHLESS!” Virgil had absolutely no idea how Pat managed to make a thought so high pitched and excited to the point the words themselves were barely understandable. “HE IS THE MOST PRECIOUS, CUTE LIL DRAGON…” and then a bunch of squeaks and mumbling took over his brain just as he has hugged and then lightly bounced before suddenly everything disappeared.
He decided it was safer to let the silence prolong itself a bit longer.
“Pat?”
“You might need to give me a few more minutes, kiddo.”
“You need to chill, dude.” Virgil remarked, a ray of fondness shining in his words. He gathered his onesie. It was his favorite one when he was fourteen, now it didn’t even fit on him anymore and it clearly wasn’t made to be used by a pillow, as well, but it would suffice until he thought of a better solution. “Ok. Got it, you might want to use your Blocker now.”
“Okayy, it’s somewhereeeeee...” Patton rummaged the content of his backpack, looking for the earphone-shaped object. He hadn’t the chance to buy the wireless prototype, so he struggled a few seconds to untangle the cables. “Here! So, see you in fifteen minutes?”
“Ok. If you hear or feel something just touch my arm and I will immediately stop.”
“Right!! Bye!” Patton waved, more a habit than anything else, plugging the Blocker on his ears and the cluing its ventosa behind his head, right where his cerebellum was. A few pieces of time went by before his head became partially empty, only his thoughts filling it. He put the panda away.
It was a strange feeling, to use this outside his school, nor parallel conversation of his classmates or a teacher’s voice filling the air to distract his attention for the fact that he couldn’t hear or feel his soulmates anymore. He hummed, wondering how Lo was and writing a self note on the corner of his paper that he should check on him later, ask for him to finish that story with the smart detective he was telling him on Sunday before Patton fell asleep due the other’s habit to keep petting his hair, probably a revenge for Patton’s constant need to hugging, holding or actively interacting with his serious soulmate’s representation, more often than not receiving fond-exasperate pokes in return.
He looked through the window, mind wandering as the wind hit the tree in his neighbor’s yard, messing with its leaves. It was a bit lonely to have your thoughts all to yourself…
But not entirely bad.
[…]
“Sooo, howz does it looks like?” The naturally excited voice asked. Virgil just pressed his hand firmer on his lips, his other arm hugging his middle. His gaze fell for what it felt the umpteen time in the blue dyed pillow before him, the sleeves of  his onesie folded inwards in a poor attempt to cut half of its original length, the ‘legs’ were criss crossed and all of this ignoring, of course, the unnatural rectangular shape of the whole thing.
‘Like shit.’ It was his first thought, but he decided to not send it to Pat.
“Weird.”
“I am looking at my pillows right now and-” giggles, “but come ooon, it’s Toothless! There is no way it isn’t at least a bit cute!”
‘You have no neck.’ He internally panicked, looking at the few, sporadic tiny blue hearts appearing amidst the black onesie, showing the representation was getting used to the new fabric attached to it. ‘A probably-head, shoulders but no neck. It’s like a reverse freaking giraffe!’
However, Virgil decided against sharing this particular vision with the other.
“I guess. Are you… breathing well or whatever?” His tune was a mix of nonchalant and nervous, the choice of words making him wince.
“I am. Why?”
“No. Nothing. No reason.”
“Oookay.” The teenage signed at the confusion on his soulmate’s tune, why did he had to talk in the first place or be so weird making a such big deal of something stupid like that? Urg. He stared at the blue object one more time. Damn Soulmate System. Damn destiny. Damn lack of socialization skills.
…………
But, dude, really, the guy has literally no neck here, there is NO WAY he isn’t feeling nothing because of that. Pat is probably lying because he pities him after a so horrible, futile attempt of fixing what he caused. No. Wait. He can’t just assume his soulmate is lying because of his overthinking, the other part of his brain retorted. Was he overthinking? He probably was. He always did it. Or perhaps this was a correct inkling of Pat. Soulmates were supposed to do that sort of thing after some time, right? One week was enough time? What he-
“Hey!” Pat’s thought cut his own. “Sooo, now that you can ‘see’ me a bit better… hug? You can say no if you want, sure!”
Virgil blinked one, two, three times.
“Ok. But you let go when I let go, got it?”
“Sure thing, V!” Warmth bloomed in his chest when he heard his nickname, Virgil wasn’t sure why.
He embraced the representation, feeling a bit silly, the same feeling that was fast to go away as Pat hugged him as well, firm but careful. The sensation overwhelmed his senses, but in a good way, leading the one who loved guitars and got a strange hyper fixation on drums to let go a sigh, body relaxing.
He patted Pat’s back two times before finishing the touch. “There you go.”
“Thanks! Sooo, see you later.”
“Sure thing.” He agreed, wanting nothing more than a good hot bath after so many feelings in such a small period of time.
“uwu”
“How the fu-”
“NO SWEARING!”
“-did you do that?”
Virgil snorted, the warmth still spreading on his chest and maybe - only maybe, - having a new soulmate wasn’t an entire bad thing.

Staged Hypnosis (aka Hypnovember Day 3: Stage)
Mirna sat in her seat in the theatre, waiting for her cue.
“And if you WANT to be one of our amazing volunteers- one of the STARS of our show tonight- it’s time to COME ON UP TO THE STAGE!” shouted the hypnotist.
Mirna jumped out of her seat and excitedly walked to the stage. She tried to project an air of nervousness and wonder as she passed Eva (Ms. Mesmera, she reminded herself) and took a seat. Mirna fought back the urge to give her a quick wink. That would be dumb. It would easily give too much away.
No one needed to know she was a plant. A confederate. A stooge.
After all, Eva needed enthusiastic volunteers to make a good show. And,  although neither she nor Mirna really believed in hypnosis, having someone on stage who was willing to act out and be entertaining would inspire the rest of her patsies to play along with Eva’s suggestions.
That would make Eva happy.
And making Eva happy made Mirna happy.
Of course, Mirna had once also believed hypnosis was real. In fact, after volunteering at her first hypnosis show, she had waited backstage for almost 30 minutes to meet the amazing Ms Mesmera to tell her how hypnotized she was. She wanted this captivating woman to know how much fun she had on stage. She couldn’t wait to be hypnotized again.
But when she finally got into her dressing room, Eva smirked at her declarations.
‘Hypnosis is bullshit,“ she said, dismissively.
“What?” asked Mirna. “But I was just…”
Eva stopped her. “You THINK you were hypnotized on stage tonight. That’s understandable- many people who come to my shows do. But really, what you were doing was pretending.”
“Pretending?” asked Mirna. “But- no! It felt like you were controlling me! Like you were directing what I did and what I thought!”
Eva sighed and nodded.  “That happens too. Tell me, do you generally find yourself wanting to make others happy? Do you want to be accepted?”
“I guess,” said Mirna.
“Do you like when you have a clear idea of what to do best? Or are you the type that likes to be confused?” asked Eva.
“Oh no, I definitely like things to be clear,” Mirna said.
Eva nodded. “That’s what I thought,” she said. “So- you were pretending, but you already had such a strong desire to feel good and be accepted and have a direction that it became really really easy for you to pretend. It was easy because you were doing things you really wanted to do. So you convinced yourself that you were hypnotized so you could keep pretending and enjoying those feelings. You’re just a really, really good pretender. So good, you even fooled yourself.”
“I am?” asked Mirna.  Eva had sounded so certain. “I guess I had never noticed that about myself before.”
“Oh yes,” said Eva. “It’s a very special personality type you have. That wasn’t hypnosis, though. “
“What’s the difference?” asked Mirna.
“Well, if there were a hypnosis, people who were hypnotized couldn’t resist suggestions- they’d have to do everything a hypnotist says.  Like on TV. And they’d kind of be mentally asleep while their body carried out those suggestions. But you didn’t feel like that on stage, right?”
She hadn’t. In fact, when Eva had been on stage, she had felt hyper-aware. And- Ok, she might have blanked out a bit right after Ms Mesmera said “sleep!” but- maybe she had just been pretending? After all, she could remember everything Ms. Mesmera said. And the woman had also told her she was a really good pretender.
“I guess not,” she said. “But..uhmmm..I did kind of feel like I couldn’t resist your suggestions., Ms Mesmera” She blushed. That had definitely awakened some interesting new desires in her.
Ms. Mesmera smiled. “Call me Eva,”  she said. “And you could resist suggestions, you just didn’t want to. You acted them out because that felt good to you and you’re the type that likes obeying naturally. So you obeyed. And it felt natural.“ She casually reached over and started lightly tracing Mirna’s arm. Mirna found herself focused on the slow, deliberate motions. She felt spacey. It was almost like Eva was trying to hypnotize her again.
But that was silly, she thought. Eva had just said hypnosis wasn’t real.
Eva’s motions continued. “You know, if you were hypnotized, my having that kind of power over you might be scary. Or you might feel like you had to be on your guard around me to make sure you didn’t take in a harmful suggestion. But- knowing that hypnosis is pretend can help you feel a lot easier. I’d imagine it’s much more….relaxing that way. After all, you don’t have to worry about those things if you’re just pretending. You can just know that you’re safe and you follow along with everything because, deep down, you really want to do those things. Right?”
“Mmm” said Mirna. She could feel herself smiling. Eva’s voice was so nice…
Eva sounded amused. “Do you want me to pretend to hypnotize you again?”
“Yes please,” murmured Mirna.
Before she could think, Eva’s finger was touching her forehead. With a simple uttered “sleep”, Mirna was hypnotized.
But! Now she knew she wasn’t really hypnotized because hypnosis was fake.  She giggled at herself internally. Then she tried pretending to be even MORE hypnotized.
It felt amazing.
“Now Mirna,” she heard Eva say. “You and I know that you’re not really hypnotized. But- I picked up that you really, really like PRETENDING that you’re hypnotized. So- I’m going to do is give you a hypnotic suggestion to respond to. I want you to pretend that you really really want to kiss me.”
Did Mirna want to kiss her? She wasn’t sure. But she knew that she could pretend to want to kiss her. She was a great pretender. Mirna imagined how it felt right before she kissed someone she really liked. She thought about the light buzzy feeling in her head and how sensitive her lips got.
“VERY good. You can really feel that now, can’t you? I wonder if that will get even stronger when you look at me? Go ahead and open your eyes now.”
Mirna opened her eyes and looked right at Eva’s lips. She was right! Her desire to kiss her grew even stronger. Eva’s lips were plump and red and Mirna wanted nothing more than to press her mouth against them. She wondered how Eva would taste.
“Do you want to kiss me now?” asked Eva. “You can ask me if you do.”
“Please,” Mirna found herself saying. “Please let me kiss you.”
“A little louder, please” said Eva.
“Please let me kiss you!” said Mirna.
Eva smirked.“Oh, all right.”
Mirna leaned forward and pressed her mouth to hers. God, she was amazed at how much she really wanted this. She probed with her tongue, then moaned when she felt Eva take control of the kiss.
After a few minutes, they separated.
Mirna took a moment to catch her breath. “So- I was able to pretend that really easily. Does that mean I really wanted to kiss you? Deep down?”
Eva looked at her seriously. “Yes. Being able to pretend something like that means you really want it.”
Mirna tried kissing Eva again, this time not pretending.
It was true! She apparently did really want to kiss her!
Later on that night, Eva helped Mirna discover a lot more things that she would be able to pretend strongly. Things she really wanted deep, deep down.
Eventually, she even pretended that she wanted to go on the road with Eva and be her plant in the audience at hypnosis shows. And, through pretending, she discovered that it was really true. How exciting! She thought she had left her adventurous days behind her, but Eva was showing her a whole new side of herself.
And now, as she waited on a chair on the stage, she knew that she would pretend for her tonight- just as hard and as eagerly as she ever did. They would have an amazing show and fool people into believing that hypnosis really did exist. And when they got backstage, Eva would teach her more about this wild, creative, sexual side of her personality that she had never previously known she had.

Tenet-No Spoilers
I am a massive Christopher Nolan fan. I’m a fanboy, I’ll admit. Nolan, for me, is the goat. I don’t think there’s a director out there today that can create movies like he does, the way he does it. The mix of pure spectacle, blockbuster action using real effects, combined with interesting characters and personal, real stories is something that is rarely achieved in the film industry today.
Tumblr media
John David Washington is The Protagonist, who after a mission goes wrong is recruited by a secret organisation, Tenet, to prevent the end of the world. He learns that there is a technology in the future that allows objects to be reversed through time and that people are buying these and selling them on the black market. Objects such as inverted bullets that cause much more damage than regular ones.
Tumblr media
There has been criticism of Tenet that it is too complicated and confusing. And yes, this is definitely the most complex Nolan film to date. The inverted/reverse time business is quite bizarre and takes a while to get your head round but towards the end it certainly becomes a little easier to understand. The plot itself however is more complicated. All Nolan films are complex and there are always clues throughout that you won’t notice on the first watch that you will on the second. But the plots aren’t as difficult to understand than Tenet. With Tenet, I think the second watch will be to understand what you didn’t from the first one, and then on the third viewing it will click. Maybe, maybe some people got it straightaway, maybe some people won’t get it on the third. I think the film, and this isn’t just a criticism of Tenet, but of most films, is that the dialogue at times was difficult to understand. It’s hard to get your head round this in the first place, never mind when you can’t make out what they are saying. During the more exposition scenes it was hard to make out what was going on, and Tenet needed these scenes to be clear in order for the viewers to maybe get a better understanding of the plot. My biggest criticism of Tenet however is that it lacks the human side of his films, especially in comparison to his other films. Not that I went in over-hyped because I never think that is a good idea. And maybe the film was his homage to the spy genre where it wasn’t intending us to care as much about the characters. But in all his films, and however epic the scenes we always care about the character, that I feel is the main part of the film, it is what we are drawn to. Whether that be magicians in the Victorian era, a caped crusader, three layers deep in a dream or floating through space; it is the human element that always keeps the film grounded. I felt that Tenet didn’t strike that balance. And that’s not to say that John David Washington wasn’t good, because he was fantastic, but I didn’t necessarily care about his character because he didn’t have anything personal for us to relate to. In Inception and Interstellar, the two main characters are fighting to see their children again. It’s personal, it shows the human side. Washington’s character didn’t have that, it was him saving the world, and yes that’s brave and courageous, but why, why did he care? What was HE fighting for? And that was what disappointed me the most about Tenet because that side of Nolan is I think the most under appreciated. I LOVE the set pieces, the action, the mind-boggling plot, but the human side is what brings it all home. I was blown away during Interstellar with the visual side of it, the black hole, the waves, all of that. But it is when Matthew McConaughey’s character breaks down seeing his grown up daughter via a TV or reuniting with her at the end of the movie that overshadows everything else. Tenet didn’t have these personal moments and that was a real shame.
No doubt about it, Tenet is the biggest Nolan film to date. It is honestly huge. No matter how confused you may, or may not get, you won’t be bored. It’s a lot of fun. In most action films you’d expect to see maybe 2 or 3 small action sequences followed by the big kick ass action sequence at the end. Tenet has 4 or 5 big kick ass action sequences. The opening of previous Nolan films, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises really set the standard for opening sequences in action movies, Tenet follows suit and kicks off from there without skipping a beat. A lot of the scenes involve the inverted time structure, where the object is going backwards in time (I think that’s how it works), it’s incredible to watch.
Tumblr media
It’s absolute madness. I don’t think I’ve seen something like it before. If I have, not to this extent. It’s barmy, but it is fantastic. Technically it’s a delight. The whole plane scene has been talked about, how Nolan bought a real plane to crash instead of just using visual effects. That’s the standard that action films should be aiming for. Yes, visual effects are a work of art, there is no denying it and I certainly won’t be shitting on it that some people do. I am incredibly envious of the skill. But there is something magical about watching real effects, and it’s become part of Nolan’s signature.
Tumblr media
Away from the jaw-dropping action scenes and the incredible technical ability on show the acting is fantastic. John David Washington is superb in this and should hopefully cement his name as an A-list. His character has it all, cool, scary, witty, he captures all of this. And it isn’t just his acting that is top notch but it is a very physically demanding role which as you might expect from a former American Football player, you might expect. I don’t think there are many actors who could have struck the balance quite like JDW did. Sure, an actor like Daniel Day-Lewis could do the acting, but he couldn’t do the physical side. Dwayne Johnson could do the physical side, but he can’t act. Washington achieves both terrifically. There is a huge, and brilliant supporting cast in Tenet, most notably Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki and Kenneth Branagh who each bring something different and exciting. Nolan comes under criticism for portrayals of women in his films which is something I don’t necessarily agree with but in this Debicki’s character is the one who we probably care about the most and it is her character that brings the humanity to the story.
4/5 Now I’ve had a day to digest it, and now I have written this review, I’m really excited to watch it again. If it wasn’t for COVID I would probably watch it about 4 times. Maybe on subsequent showings I could give it slightly lower (although I’ve tried to be impartial) maybe I’ll think it is better once I understand it more. Yes it is a shame that the human side of the film is lacking slightly, but the technical ability on showing will blow you away. No matter how confused you are, you won’t be bored.
p.s There has been criticisms from some corners of the film industry saying that Nolan, and the studios, are irresponsible for releasing Tenet as the film to bring cinema-goers back, especially when the film is complex. Why would the audience want to watch a film they can’t understand? Now I have an issue with this. Critics slam the Fast and Furious franchise because it is over the top, silly, action fuelled, spectacle garbage. Critics will also jizz over films such as Midsommar, The Shining, The Lighthouse for their complex and interesting storylines. Now I love these films, but what exactly are those films about, and would you know directly coming out of the cinema. Would the link between Greek Mythology, Prometheus and giving knowledge to civilisation be known to you when you came out of The Lighthouse? Probably not. Isn’t there like a whole documentary on The Shining because there are so many fan theories? That film is weird af. I’ve always found an issue of classism within the film industry, especially when reviewing certain films. Action films are seen as dumb, lowest common denominator garbage, and yet odd artsy stuff is seen as the pinnacle of film. Nolan somehow manages to get these both together and yet now they criticism him when this complex stuff is the shit they love. Now critics want a film like Fast and Furious to bring people back, but you know they’d shit on it at any other point. Maybe Nolan can do no right, people have called his films obnoxious because they are too smart. Well maybe these people mistake the intelligence of the general viewer? Who knows, I’m just mad the Nolan hasn’t won a Best Director award, or hasn’t even got a knighthood when people like Ed Sheeran or Phillip Green have?

also my god E9 w/ himbo rog 😳😳 - ☁️
Okay I got lost in the himbo rog sauce and this is less of a blurb and more of an unedited 2.5k word fic 😳 i lov this lil dummy so much
It’s something you’ve talked about before, more than once. Roger has a bit of a thing for public play and while it’s not as strong for you, you do kind of get it. On one hand the danger and excitement and on the other the potential for embarrassment. You’ve played with it once or twice too, a quickie in a bathroom at an awards show Roger was invited to attend, or leaving your panties at home when you went out to a nice restaurant for dinner. But it’s not something you indulge in very often, mostly because you’re too well known. Roger is in a world famous band and you’ve been on TV and radio enough to be recognisable in the local community (though, of course, your relationship has gained you a bit of wider notoriety too. Good for your charity, not so good for your personal life.) There is a legitimate risk of being caught by the wrong person and finding yourselves splashed across every tabloid in London and that’s something neither of you want. The closest to public sex you’ve had in months is fooling around in the pool and with the size of Roger’s properly and how closed off the garden is, the chance of even the neighbours spotting you is virtually non-existent. But recently, you’ve been talking about using hypnosis to make it feel like you’re in public. Roger is keen on the idea, especially if he’s the one who thinks it’s real and you’ve been discussing logistics and limits so you both know what would be hot in case you do decide to test it out. You have to admit, the idea of making Roger think he’s in the middle of a public venue while you tell him what a pretty slut he is, is definitely a turn on. But it stayed as just an idea for a while.
That is, until one day while Roger is unpacking the groceries you’ve just brought in. He bent down to pick up a bag of potatoes and you caught sight of the top of his undies peaking out from under his jeans. Except, they weren’t his undies. They were yours. Red satin briefs. You found yourself giggling without meaning to. Roger turned to see what you were laughing at, blushing a little when you tell him. But he covers his slight embarrassment with a shrug.
“All mine were on the line when it rained last night so I didn’t have a dry pair this morning. Figured you wouldn’t mind.”
“You mean every one of your briefs was on the line? All of them?”
Roger just shrugged again in what he must have intended to be a casual, carefree gesture.
You laugh again, “I kind of really want to drop you right now,”
“Seriously? Just from me wearing your knickers?”
“Well there might be other factors….that scene we’ve been talking about. But also, it’s kind of just that hot. And, y’know, I don’t think it was just the wet washing that made you put them on. I think that was a convenient excuse because you liked wearing the pair you ruined and wanted to do it again. This probably isn’t the first time, is it baby? And maybe you wanted me to notice so I’d tease you about it?”
He scoffs a bit, pulls his jeans up a little higher on his hips and turns back to the groceries.
“Bet the satin feels good against your semi huh baby?”
Roger paused again and sighed, “drop me,”
“What was that?”
“I should never have taught you how to domme,” he shook his head, “But please put me under,”
“Aww, good boy for asking so politely,”
“Fucking hell,”
“Let’s finish putting this stuff away first,” you laughed, “then I’ll take you out to the couch and think of something wicked to do to you.”
After you’d double checked that no perishables had been left in grocery bags you and Roger heading into the living room so you could hypnotise him again. You went through your usual routine of breathing exercises to relax before counting him down, telling him that being embarrassed would only make him more horny (increasing what was already there) and making his mind drip away. But you took a little extra time after that to explain the scene.
“We’re in a coffee shop right now. On a date. Sitting on the same side of a private booth but there are people all through the shop, chatting to friends as they drink tea or coffee or hot chocolate. One lady over by the wall is enjoying a muffin as she reads a book. And there’s a man at the next table with an open briefcase and a stack of important looking documents that he’s highlighting and making notes on. It’s not too busy but there’s a low level bustle as everyone goes about their day. We’ve been having a nice time, talking. Or at least trying to. You’re finding you’re too dumb to understand what I’m talking about. You keep getting lost and getting distracted, letting your mind wander. It’s hard for me not to notice so I keep stopping to look at you and that’s making you feel embarrassed, isn’t it?”
Roger nodded, his cheeks once again tinged with pink, as he squirmed in his seat, trying not to be too obvious.
“Finally, after a long pause I decide to click my fingers to bring your attention back.” You clicked and told him to wake up.
He looked around the room, taking in the people that weren’t really there. You saw him raise his hand as a greeting to one of them. And then his eyes fell back on you and he squirmed again, struggling to make eye contact.
You leaned over, put your hand on his, “You’re very distracted today baby. But that’s okay,”
“Is it?”
“It is, because I know why you’re here.”
“You do?” he looked more confused by the second.
“Of course baby, I know everything about you. I know what you want, I know what you like, and I can give that to you,”
Roger gulped, his breathing heavier, as his eyes darted around the room again, checking if anyone had overheard.
“You wanna know how I know?”
“Yes?”
You chuckled at his uncertainty and he dropped his hands to his lap, clearly embarrassed, “I know because I’ve seen what you’re wearing right now. Should I tell everyone?”
Roger shook is head, biting his lip.
“No? You don’t want everyone here to know you’re wearing pretty red satin knickers? Women’s underwear?” you traced your hand up his thigh as you spoke, knocking his out of the way so you could palm him over his jeans, “Then why are you so hard?”
Roger whimpered, “please,”
“You know what kind of boy goes on a date in his girlfriend’s panties? A naughty little brainless boy. A boy who deserves to be humiliated. And I can do that for you. I can tell everyone what kind of a Dummy you are, let them watch while I play with you. Unless…unless you don’t want that? Maybe you could change my mind.”
Roger opened his mouth and then closed it again, unsure how to respond. He decided to just smile at you instead.
“Tut, tut. Such a Dummy,” you tapped his forehead, “Think baby. You’ve been distracted since we got here. Too dumb to hold a conversation. Too dumb to understand anything I’ve said. And getting so horny. So what have you been thinking about?”
His eyes lit up, finally a question he understood and could answer, “Your cunt,”
“What about it?”
“How much I love it!”
“Yeah? Well, maybe I won’t have to tell everyone what a silly little bimbo you are, if you tell me how much you love it. Worship it, worship me.”
Roger grinned, nodded enthusiastically, as he leaned a little closer to you, I love your cunt so much. So much. SO much!”
“Specifics baby, tell me why,”
“Mmmm soft and pretty. Aaaannnnddd taste good. I like how it feels when I lick you. And how it feels on my cock. Warm. Wet. I love making you wet soooooo much. It makes me happy. Oh! How you sound! Moaning! Everything, so much. I want to lick your cunt allllllllll the time. Can I? Now?” He slipped off the seat, onto the floor, dodging the edge of a table only he could see. You watched, trying not to giggle too much as he looked up at you, pleadingly. “Please? Now? Cunt now?”
“You’re obsessed.”
Roger nodded, “Please?”
“No, I don’t think I want your mouth just yet. But maybe later,”
“Later?” Roger pouted, “But…..”
“Look, if I’m being honest, I thought you’d be more embarrassed by that. I forgot how you get when I take your brain away. How you turn into a cunt hungry Dummy. So I guess I’ll have to think of something else.”
Roger waited patiently, kneeling on the floor, as you thought.
“Hmmmm I think you should put on a little show for me. Strip. Down to those pretty knickers you stole.”
“What? Here?”
“Yes baby, right here. And you know why you’re going to do it? Because it’ll make me happy.”
The embarrassed blush that had subsided as he talked about his favourite subject returned to his cheeks and spread over the rest of his face as he crawled out from under his table and looked around the café again. The was no music but he began undressing as if there was, the red flush spreading down his neck as he slowly pulled his shirt over his head and swung it around before throwing it to you. Next was the jeans. He popped the button and wiggled his hips as he unzipped them, pushed them down and kicked them across the floor.
“I think someone’s seen you baby.”
He froze and gulped, eyes darting to the other side of the room as you stood up. When he looked back you were right in front of him, sliding your hand into the satin panties to grasp his cock.
“Everyone knows now.” You raised your voice as if speaking to the room, “Look at this dumb little sissy boy, all horny from dressing like a slut and worshiping cunt. It’s kind of pathetic. What should I do to him now?” you left a pause which made Roger squirm, “how about I spit in his mouth?”
Without being asked Roger opened his mouth for you to spit on his tongue, swallowing it when you pulled back.
“Good boy Dummy. I think you should be rewarded for that. Maybe everyone here should get to see you fuck your mistress until she cums.” You pushed the panties down just enough to free his cock before removing your own pants and underwear. He watched, enraptured as you lay back on the couch and spread your legs for him, needing a click to get him to take the spot between them.
“You’re so wet,” he mumbled, the flush fading slightly.
“All because of you baby,”
He beamed at the praise as he lined himself up, waiting for you to approve before he pressed into you and then letting you control how slowly he went.
“Go on, fuck me,” you said once you’d adjusted a bit, “show everyone how much you love my cunt,”
He braced his arms on either side of your head as he began thrusting into you, still smiling even as you kissed along his mouth and jaw. You lazily rubbed your clit, keeping up a string of complements about how good he felt and how everyone was watching, encouraging him. But the boost of confidence it gave him was also his undoing. He groaned against your neck, hips stuttering.
“Are you close already?” you asked. You probably shouldn’t have been surprised considering how you’d tortured him and how hard he’d been but all the same you weren’t expecting it to take so little.
“I’m sorry, you feel s-so good.”
You sped up your fingers on your clit but it wasn’t enough. A few more thrusts and Roger was finishing inside you, moaning about how wet you were and how much he loved fucking you.
“What about me Dummy?” you asked as he stilled.
He tried to keep fucking you but whined when he became too sensitive.
“Hey, stop before you hurt yourself. There’s another way.” You let him sit back and calm down a bit, his eyes automatically drawn to the dribble of cum leaking out of you, “Since you were begging for it earlier, you can finish me off with your mouth. Clean up the mess you made in me.”
He didn’t argue, just nodded happily and pressed his tongue to your slit, licking a continuous line up to your clit and then another back down to your hole where he proceeded to take your words literally and press his tongue into you, seeking out his own spunk. Your felt your breath hitch and your muscles tighten. His enthusiasm and determination to make up for his earlier lack of control made your head spin and your core throb. Every moment you weren’t moaning or telling him how good it felt seemed to Roger a moment wasted, a moment he wasn’t doing enough. And when he did break away from you it was only to repeat his earlier praise about how much he loved having his face buried between your legs and how much he loved your taste. Though at one point you did have to press down on the back of his head and rock yourself against his mouth to get him to shut up and continue sucking on your clit. He took the hint and became very reluctant to stop, even after you came and stopped tugging on his hair. You let him keep going as you recovered but eventually had to forcibly pull him away. He was still pouting about it as you talked him back to reality, dissolved the café and returned his brain.
Afterwards Roger pulled you into a tight hug and kissed you hard.
“I take it that means you enjoyed it?” you said through a bout of giggles, noting the blush still visible on his cheeks.
“Very very much,”
“I’m glad. It didn’t feel too far with the crowd watching us?”
“Nope. That was really hot and a bit of an ego boost if I’m honest. Feel like I should go and play a show now just to keep the momentum going.”
“Don’t get used to it Rog, I’m not letting you do me in front of a crowd every night, no matter how they cheer. But other than ready to rock, how are you feeling?”
“I know you get a little worried when we try new things but I promise if something had felt off about any of that, I’d tell you straight up. I loved it. I loved the café scene, how real it felt. When you said everyone had seen me I looked around and there was a lady watching me from over a book. And then while I was y’know in you and you said they were encouraging me, I swear I saw the guy with the briefcase clapping. It felt really really real. Down to the smell of coffee. And god I loved the humiliation parts too. I would wear your underwear constantly if it guaranteed me that sort of treatment. The spitting thing? Yeah we need to do that sometime when I’m not hypno’d. If you’d kept me in there and told me everyone was laughing after I’d gone down on you I would have been hard again in no time. Like, it was embarrassing at the time but in a hot way and now that I’m out of the scene it’s just like really fucking hot. You’re incredible for thinking of all of that. I love you.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his excited babbling, “I’m so thrilled you liked it. It’s just important to me that we’re both clear about what works and what doesn’t, that’s all. You do this too when I’m the subby one.”
“Yeah, fair enough. But I promise, everything was great and if you ever want to bring that out again I’d be happy to go along with it. But what I’d really like now, more than anything, is to order something for dinner and relax in front of a dumb movie with you. Maybe a hot shower too,”
“Sounds great, I’ll get the takeout menus if you get a cloth and wipe down the couch.”

RWBY Volume 8 Chapter 11 Review/Remix
Not the most action packed chapter we’ve ever had, and certainly not as dramatic as Chapter 11s from past Volumes. But this week had some wonderful surprises and existential dread and depression in equal measure and I think that’s a formula for a pretty damn good watch.
Despite the devastating energy bomb Oscar delivered last episode, we open with the city of Atlas overrun with tons of Grimm. The people are still hiding in the subway, fearing for their lives twice over now that Ironwood’s monologue is playing and showing just how off his rocker he is. Those in the crater mines take it far worse, though we see some of the humans and faunus who had previously seemed on edge with each other holding one another in solidarity and comfort. Fiona breaks down in tears and is pulled into a Happy Huntress group hug by Joanna and May, so it’s a small comfort to see they’re all still alive.
Ironwood and Winter walk the halls of Atlas command together, and Winter can’t help but notice the fearful reverence the general’s presence instills in lesser officers. The Ace Ops are talking things over in the wake of their boss’ ultimatum, and Elm is of the belief that Ironwood was just bluffing about nuking Mantle if he doesn’t get what he wants. Vine agrees it may very well be the kick in the pants Team RWBY and the others will need to finally see the right path, but we the audience are getting pretty sick of hearing this shtick. Marrow thinks Ironwood is taking this too far, and Harriet is just angrily indifferent about the whole thing. Ironwood rounds the corner and addresses the squad with their new orders: get some drones ready to drop the bomb. Winter asks why exactly they need to actually make those kind of preparations, and he makes it clear that he really does intend to remove Mantle from the equation if he is prompted to. He actually thinks committing this massacre, nay genocide, will make Penny more willing to return to his command if she no longer has an alternative job. No, dumbass, she’ll only want to defy and even kill you more! This is how he believes they will save Atlas, but Marrow has had more than enough and calls him on his shit for a line like that. All this is doing is helping Salem in her mission to divide and destroy the world, and it’s spitting in the face of everything Marrow thought the Atlas military stood for. Harriet threatens to clean his clock if he doesn’t shut up, and Vine again suggests that this would be a necessary sacrifice for the good of the Kingdom. Elm tries to agree, to say that this should be their top priority whether they like it or not, but Marrow has more to say. He can’t believe any of them actually buy the nonsense they’re spouting, and wants to know if there’s anything his teammates actually believe in anymore. With so many moral compromises, where do they draw the line of patriotism vs fascism? The faunus man gives a pretty good clincher to his tirade by calling his badge and rank nothing more than a collar. Say what you want about the writing of the faunus discrimination subplots in the prior volumes, I think this was pretty good. Ironwood isn’t about to let Marrow walk away from a rant like that without consequences and we can hear his cocking his gun. Marrow hears it too, but before he can react Winter comes in from his right with a sucker punch that knocks him to the floor. As she drops a knee on Marrow’s back to cuff him for insubordination we see Ironwood was a second away from shooting this man, one of his few trusted elite soldiers left, in the back of the head for an execution without mercy or hesitation. She just saved his goddamn life and that makes her an MVP for this Volume. The other Ace Ops realize this close encounter with death too, and they all share the same expression of shock fear dread and confusion. Not even Vine can hide how much he doesn’t like what could have just occurred. Winter says she’s going to take this “traitor” to the brig where he belongs and Ironwood allows her to leave and do so, only taking his finger off the trigger once they’ve walked past him. Those with a better understanding of trigger discipline than I could probably make something poignant out of that, so have at it if you can. What is abundantly clear to us is that Winter will be taking Marrow no such place. She has absolutely had enough and she’s about to desert with him in tow. The remaining three have to get back in line and spend a little time rethinking their positions on this job. Well, at least one of them will be, I don’t think Harriet is gonna change course after what she’s already done.
From one tense situation to another, we go to the Schnee manor dining room where Team RWBY are trying to figure out their next moves with Oscar and Emerald. They know they don’t want Ironwood getting his hands on Penny, but they don’t know what to do instead that won’t result in mass casualties. They don’t know that Robyn and Qrow have flown the coop and might come to their aid soon, and under Ironwood’s watch there’s no way to try and evacuate the people in the crater before he drops the bomb. It’s a real bad situation with no clear solutions or backup plans. Emerald can’t help but be snarky and say if the perpetual optimism engine that is Ruby can’t think of what to do then there’s no right answer at all. Weiss is annoyed that Em is giving them sass when they really don’t need any, but Yang is downright furious and her to GTFO if she doesn’t like trying to help them solve this. Emerald tenses up when Yang stomps towards her with clenched fists, and her hands go to her weapons in case she needs to defend herself. We know Yang wouldn’t actually throw a punch even if she’s mad like this, but Em doesn’t. Probably because the most substantial thing connecting the two of them was the time Emerald used her semblance to make Yang look like a heartless brute who would break a leg for no reason on live TV. Also Emerald doesn’t have the best role models for how to handle frustration... Oscar continues to insist they all just take a deep breath and remember the big picture rather than lose it over small disagreements, and reminds them that Em is going to be staying on their side cuz Salem won’t let her safely be anywhere else. But when he tries to reassure the group with a reminder that Oz is back to offer help too it just tenses the situation further. Ruby’s got her head in her arms on the table, and she’s really having a hard time of it all. Oscar muses about all the negative personal energies keeping them from a productive cohesion, and Ruby pops off. A day’s worth of their best efforts, hard fought battles and painful consequences, and nothing has gotten better. Just like at the start of the Volume, all they’ve been able to do is argue over what to try and do while Atlas heads towards its demise. Yang tries to put an encouraging hand on her shoulder but she brushes it off and runs out of the room in a huff. Everyone silently realizes how much they’ve fucked this up if Ruby is so hopeless and desperate, and Yang follows her sister out of the room.
Upstairs, Jaune is doing his best to boost Nora’s Aura and help her heal faster, but it’s not doing anything about her lightning scars. Those babies are here to stay, and I don’t mind it. It shows history, survival and a damn good story about what she’s been able to power through. Ren is sitting at the foot of the bed, and the best he’s able to offer is how glad he is Nora is okay. She seems indifferent and even passive aggressive at the diagnosis on her scars, claiming it’s just another example of her being classic dumb Nora. Ren tries to object that this wasn’t her being stupid or foolhardy, but she bites back at him with all the resentment she seems to have been holding in since they split ways yesterday. He’s got no right to say what it was or wasn’t, he wasn’t there to see it. He pushed away from her when things went wrong because he didn’t want to have to feel anything he thought would be too hard to deal with. Ren makes no effort to argue, he knows she’s right and he apologizes profusely for how he wronged both her and Jaune. He regrets the things he said to them, or more likely the things he said to Jaune out on the tundra since he and Nora haven’t exactly talked much. He admits he’s been mad at himself for not measuring up to their mentor figures in the Ace Ops, for how little he could help when Tyrian came a’ slashing at Robyn’s election rally, and for slipping up and letting Neo get away with the Lamp. Mentioning the rally of course gets Nora’s attention away from her pissed off brooding, and she does start to listen a little more sympathetically. Ren says that he tried to tunnel vision on getting stronger in the hopes it would mean he wouldn’t fail again and bring the team down with him. We know from Ironwood how bad tunnel vision is, so I’m glad Ren is realizing it was a bad choice. Ren has realized now that by doing all that he failed the worst of all, that being in his role as a member of this team and as a partner to Nora. The two of them lock eyes, and Jaune notices the deeper meaning behind this prolonged eye contact and knows he should make himself scarce for now so they can have this more important conversation sans his third wheeling ass. Good boy, but a bit over the top excusing himself.
All Nora can find the words to ask is why Ren hadn’t said anything about these personal doubts sooner so they could try and deal with it and grow as a team, and he says he wanted to try and solve it himself because it was his problem and he was the one dragging the group down because of it. She disagrees on the grounds of her own perceived failings, being silly of mind and strong of muscle and little else of value. Ren won’t hear that kind of self depreciation sitting down, so he moves further up the bed to sit by her lap. He tries his best to give her affirmations by rephrasing her qualities as great things but she’s just not willing to hear it... until he gets a little more passionate about it than he may have meant to. These are the things he loves about her. Because he loves her. Lie Ren tells Nora Valkyrie “I love you”. Nora knows in her heart he really means that, but she has some things she wants to get off her chest. In the single sentence of backstory we get, her mom apparently abandoned her and fled from a Grimm attack before she ended up in Kuroyuri meeting Ren. SInce then they’ve always been an inseparable pair, and she wouldn’t give up a day of that for anything. But now she realizes she needs some time to really learn who she is as her own person and fighter, and going back to being as close as they were wouldn’t allow that kind of growth. Because Nora loves Ren too, always has. And she can tell their separate missions have done him some good too, but she needs a little more time before she’s ready to be the partner a great guy like him deserves. She just wants to know if that kind of request is okay with him. He puts a hand against her cheek and lovingly wipes away the tear she had shed. Of course that’s okay. He’s proud of her for being mindful of her own happiness and growth, and is willing to put the relationship they both very much look forward to having on hold while she grows as a person. This is a very healthy dynamic and all meming aside we really love to see it portrayed so naturally and acceptably in media. And for good wholesome measure, Ren Boops Nora. They laugh and smile and press their foreheads together because Rooster Teeth loves showing us that as a sign of proximity and intimate comfort.
Cutting to something far less happy, Qrow is retrieving Harbinger and Robyn’s gauntlet crossbow from a locker in what I assume might be evidence lockup. He asks Robyn if she’s got the security cameras running on loop, presumably so they can sneak through the halls undetected, but she is currently distracted. At least one screen is feeding audio of Ironwood’s threat to Mantle, and others are showing he really is gearing up to do so. Qrow tries to reassure her by resolutely saying they’ll stop him before he has the chance to, but she doesn’t seem to pleased with that plan. Regardless, they make their way through the halls and head for an elevator to take them up to the Academy. After avoiding being spotted by guards, they make it to the elevator but Robyn stops Qrow before he can hit the call button. She tries to advocate for a better way to solve this, he insists there isn’t one. Robyn says it’s not just about Qrow so it isn’t his choice alone to make what is or isn’t the only solution. Qrow just keeps insisting that this is what he’s gonna do and when he does it’ll all be safe and over with, but Robyn tries to suggest success isn’t guaranteed and if they fail it’ll only doom hundreds more than if they try something else. Qrow doesn’t give a damn, he just yells that Ironwood deserves to be killed, because in case the pronoun game was too hard Qrow is dead set on doing a murder. Robyn claps a hand over Qrow’s mouth and pushes him against the wall because they ARE still trying not to get caught remember? I really have to admit on my first watch I thought this was gonna be an eruption of some kind of romantic tension I just hadn’t noticed til now and she was going to shut him up with a kiss. But no, thank god they didn’t pull that tired trick. After making sure the coast really is clear, she gets to the heart of things. She can tell Qrow is in pain, he’s mourning, and its a shroud he’s well accustomed to. But don’t act like this is righteous justice for the people at large, Qrow wants blood on his hands purely for personal vengeance. She acknowledges that Clover had a lot of qualities worth looking up to the way Qrow had, but she thinks that at the end of the day Qrow has proven to be the better man and the better Huntsman. I feel like she could have phrased that a touch better so as to not speak quite so ill of the recently deceased, but the pep talk is there. He’s got the will to fight for what he believes is the right course of action rather than just what a higher up says he needs to, and that is the sort of strength of character that’s worth a whole lot in this world, so she hopes he won’t go abandoning it now that the going is even rougher. He seems to be calmed and inspired by this, but before any more words are said the elevator pings that it’s stopping on this floor so the two ready their weapons to fight whoever emerges. The doors open, but we have the perspective of whoever is inside looking out to see the two hunters drop their guard in confusion. As that is the end of that scene we will not be finding out who they saw for at least another week, but I think it’s most likely to be Winter and Marrow and the four of them will form an unlikely alliance.
Back in Schnee manor, Yang reaches the foyer to see Ruby sitting on the stairs clutching a banister. Instead of going right up to her Yang goes past to take a look at the collapsed suit of armor. She’s heard by now how Ruby and the others managed to kill the Hound, and tries to give her little sis amused props for doing what the elder sibling couldn’t. Instead Ruby just asks if Yang knows what they saw inside the Grimm. Yang says she does, and tenses up like she wants to brush past this very depressing topic Ruby is hinting at. Ruby is having none of that and just says what we’ve all been thinking. Summer Rose was most certainly turned into a Grimm too. Fearing the possibility in her head was one thing, but to hear Ruby say it aloud with a voice so hollow and hopeless is too much and Yang falls to her knees sobbing in a second flat. Yang tries to wipe the tears away, to be calm and strong like always, but Ruby isn’t stopping. They know Salem used to want Silver Eyed Warriors dead because of Maria’s brush with death years ago, but now Salem wants Ruby brought in alive and it seems obvious why. So why wouldn’t it be the case that Summer was the turning point, that fighting her was when Salem realized she could do so much more with her mortal foes? Ruby has had enough of lying to themselves for the sake of optimistic hope, her hope that Amity could get a message out got them nowhere but further failure and she blames herself for being childish. Yang takes her hand and assures her that it wasn’t childishness but rather optimism and hope. Those are things they desperately need in this struggle, but to be blindly optimistic can certainly be bad so they need to be smart about which risks they take. Ruby still isn’t about to concede this point because the risk she took was a failure and their message didn’t bring any help. I should like to remind the reader/viewer that it took about a week for Team RWBY to get from Mistral to Atlas and this message went out... 12 hours ago? Maybe 16? You’re giving up the ghost a little soon there sweetie, though they do need that help ASAP so better late than never isn’t really a viable option. Yang reminds Ruby that her plan was a bust too, but she kept trying to do good things that weren’t part of the plan and they did some good there. Summer took a risk too, by leaving for the mission she never came back from. And there’s little question that went according to plan either, but she still did her best and Yang still considers Summer her hero. As she embraces her little sister, I get the strong feeling that Summer isn’t the only Rose she considers her hero either... and by the tears that start welling up in Ruby’s eyes she clearly knows that.
Their sweet moment is shattered by the sound of equally shattered glass, and Jaune comes rushing down the stairs to tell them to get outside immediately. Penny woke up and the virus is in control again to make her head for the Vault without delay. Ruby bursts into her path to beg her to stop, and it does get her to start struggling against her digital orders. She begs to be stopped, and Ruby wraps her arms around her because honestly she’s just trying her best and with a weapon like Crescent Rose she’s gotta have some upper body strength. But that’s pretty meaningless against Penny’s rocket boots as she takes off with Ruby in tow. Blake and Ren use Gambol Shroud and Storm Flower (thank god for the grappling hook upgrade last Volume) to try and pull her down by each arm with the rest of their teams providing tug of war style support. Weiss uses a black glyph to really hold her in place once her feet are on the ground again. Before anyone can figure out what to do to properly subdue her Penny uses her magic to summon a cold vortex and blow them all off guard so she can start flying away again, still repeating her orders to open the Vault and self-terminate, though now she sounds emotional and conflicted about it due to her mental struggle. Before she can get any farther, a new set of chains grab her shoulders. Emerald has joined in, and even if it was a small gesture I found myself very enthusiastic to see her pitching in for the rescue. She yells for someone to do something already, and Jaune lets go of Blake’s side of the struggle (guess it would have been off balance if him Nora and Oscar were all helping Ren) to boost Weiss’ Aura so she can make a stronger inertia glyph. Back on the ground, Ruby hugs Penny again and asks how she can help her friend. And Penny says Ruby should kill her. If she does, Penny guarantees Ruby will be the one she gives the Winter Maiden powers to. None of the group like hearing this idea one little bit, but she thinks it’s the only way since she can’t fight the virus. But once again Nora swoops in with the sage words about it only being a part of you and not letting that be the end of it. Penny’s more than just a robot receiving orders, she’s got human spirit and willpower that’s been resisting for so long. This gets the gears in Ruby’s head turning and she realizes the human part can be what saves her. Jaune needs to boost her Aura, which he rushes over to do immediately. It seems to do the trick, and her soul is doing a much better job of keeping the virus contained, though it’s not gone forever. Everyone comes in for a happy group huddle, and she is assured that she is far more than a machine and that humanity is what will keep her going in spite of the remaining virus. It’s a very soft and touching moment.
Then Emerald has something to say. They’re wrong... about being in the same place they started yesterday. They’ve made progress even though they can’t quite see it right now. They’ve taken some hits, and she admits some of that has been her fault, but that’s war so you gotta roll with the punches and fight on. She just really won’t like it if they give up the moment she decides she’ll fight by their side, okay?! It’s not like she likes these friendly, kind, understanding and emotionally complex fellow teens that are willing to take her in, baka!!! Oscar points out that she’s admitted she wants to stay with them and they all have a happy laugh realizing she’s got a softer side after all. Oscar helps her back to her feet, then addresses the group. Ozpin has some things he wants to say to them all, if they’re willing to hear it. They all share a look and decide that yes, they will listen. Oz comes forth and immediately launches into a speech about a fairy tale. Typical. We can presume these are further details about “The Girl who Fell Through the World”, and he says that girl took her grand trip to run away from consequences of a choice she has to make. But her problems only grow because the initial issue was never resolved. That’s the very thing he’s done here, his problem being the consequences of the truth and his past coming to light. He regrets not trusting them with the whole story and he regrets retreating into Oscar’s mind when he was found out. The group decides they understand where he was coming from a bit since in that interim they had to make some impossible choices about trust too. Trusting in someone is a risk, and they decide they’ll take that risk on him one more time. From the look of things, that second chance is going to Emerald too, and I hope she makes them proud. Penny winces again and it’s clear that one way or the other they will need to take her to the Vault. Ruby thinks on that for a second and realizes that’s actually worth a shot considering who they have at their disposal and the likelihood of it not going exactly how Ironwood thinks it will. To that end we see Ironwood down in the Vault receiving a call from Ruby saying Penny will be there. He sets the stipulation that Penny meet him at the entrance of the Academy and she has to come alone. I’m sure no green haired illusionist will play a hand in whether or not she really is alone... But either way there will be unexpected company because Watts hooked up a broken Scroll to the wiring of an Atlas robot to listen in on Ironwood’s call and know where the meeting will be. Neo arrives in the alley where the doctor and Cinder waiting, and it seems miss Fall has a scheme to get the ice cream psycho precisely what she’s demanding of them.
But what exactly these carefully laid plans will be has to wait a little while, cuz that’s the end for this week. Great job all around for this well balanced episode with many kinds of scenes and many ways to make my heart hurt...

Insecurities...
Insecurity is part of our every day life, still we try to hide it, not to show weakness. Insecurity is uncertainty, lack of confidence, making us feel anxious about what we do, what we say, how we deal with things. Everyone has insecurities, but some of the people might struggle with them more deeply than others. Of course, it doesn't mean one is weaker than the other. Insecurities should never be measured, as everyone feels differently.
You were one of those people who's insecurity affected your life greatly. You tried to hide it, not wanting people to know that you were less than confident. You were a hunter, a strong person, who dealt with monsters on a daily basis. You had to stay strong both mentally and physically.
Over the years you have developed an expressionless facade. You didn't want people to see your real-self, you barely ever smiled, you barely ever showed pain, you barely ever changed your facial expression.
Many people you encountered throughout your life, thought you were just smug and overly confident, but it wasn't true. You simply didn't want to show your true self to people. It made you feel weak, vulnerable and you couldn't let that happen, not in the life you lived.
There was only one person who you thought you could ever trust enough to let your guard down, but you were not sure of yourself just yet. He was capable of making you smile, even if seconds later you realised what you have done and rearranged your facial expressions. Smiling, laughing, those happy emotions have been taken away from you a long time ago. Other than feeling giddy from the inside, you never projected it to your surroundings.
Sam was working hard to get you to open up to him, but he never dared to push you. He loved you just the way you were, but god, was it hard for you to accept that. After all, past experiences affect someone's future and you still believed that you had to hide yourself from people, including Sam.
You were laying on the couch in the bunker, your head against the armrest as you were watching some random series on the telly. You heard quite footsteps coming closer, but you didn't take your eyes off the screen, simply waited for the arrival to reveal himself.
You didn't have to wait long as two big hands cupped your face from above you, turning your head to look up into his green orbs, ups-side down. Sam offered you a gentle smile, but you fought hard against yours to appear.
He saw the hesitation in your eyes and it hurt him, that he could barely ever make you feel happy, that he didn't do enough for you to smile, to laugh carelessly. He wished to make you happy, but he didn't know what to do anymore. He thought he was failing to show you how much he loved you.
He leaned down to you, attaching his lips to yours, hinting a soft, loving kiss on top of them. You felt content, you felt happy, you just wanted to smile. Without realising, you did feel your lips curve upwards with a content sigh leaving your lips. Sam returned the gesture, his heart beating fast against his chest seeing your carefree smile. However you quickly realised what you were doing and shot up from your lying position, quickly rearranging your facial expression.
You heard Sam's deep, heavy sigh from the side as he started walking around the couch and sat down beside you. He looked at the tv, collecting his thoughts, before he finally spoke up, his eyes fixated on his nervously playing hands.
"Do I make you happy?" He asked in the softest, most apologetic tone you have ever heard and it was breaking your heart to think that he wasn't aware of how much he has meant to you.
"Of course, Sam. I couldn't be happier." You placed your palm on his arm reassuringly, but he didn't look up.
"Are you sure?" He asked desperately trying to find a solution to your happiness.
"I couldn't be more sure. Where is this coming from?" You asked, even though you were hoping to hear any, but one answer.
"I don't think I make you happy." He started and this time his green eyes turned to meet yours. "I feel like you can't open up to me. I wish to see you smile, to see you laugh whole-heartedly, but I feel like you just don't want to let me in."
"Sam, it has nothing to do with you. I love you more than I dare to admit. It's just sometimes hard to... express how I feel. I just..." You attempted to explain to him, but you didn't know what to say. The words just didn't come out. You were sitting, looking at each other for minutes before he spoke up.
"Just talk to me, please." His eyes were almost begging you as he took your hand into his, cupping it and squeezing it gently.
"It's hard to talk about it." You heaved a deep sigh, trying to collect your thoughts.
"I love you, Y/N. You can tell me anything." He caressed your face softly with the back of his hand.
"I know and it makes it even harder." You frowned, not knowing how to start. He didn't say anything, he was waiting patiently for you and you were glad he understood you so well. "A couple of years back, I was in a relationship. I loved him dearly, I would have done anything to make him happy. Back then I was cheerful, happy, there wasn't a day I didn't laugh around with a silly expression. You couldn't remove the smile off my face, it was stuck to it." Your lips curved up at the thought, but this time you didn't hide it. Your nostrils flared as you heaved a deep sigh.
"I wish I could see you so carelessly happy." He spoke in a soft tone, making your lips curve even higher.
"It's hard, Sammy. My boyfriend back then was my everything and I was in a pink cloud, walking six feet above the ground. Everything he said, I believed it. I was naive and dumb, but I just loved him too much." You explained, as you felt your chest tighten. "I thought it was a positive thing that I was always happy, that I was walking around with a huge smile across my face. I always liked people who seemed happy. There's just something inviting, something attractive about them." You got yourself into a more comfortable position, pulling your blanket over yourself as if that was protecting you, before you decided to continue. "But my boyfriend thought otherwise. We fought a lot. He got easily agitated and he hated how happy I always felt. He thought I was annoying for smiling all the time. It irritated him when I laughed at something. He was quite bitter most of the times, but I was just happy. That was just me." You leaned forward, hunching you back, hiding your face in your palm, trying to keep your tears back.
"It's okay." He caressed your back in a gentle manner, reassuring you that he was there for you.
"The fights were horrible. At first they started with simple warnings, which honestly made sense to me. 'Stop laughing all the time, noone will take you seriously.' or 'Can you just be more serious instead of giggling around all the time?' Things like this became regular comments in our daily lives and I believed him. I wanted people to take me seriously. But then it turned hurtful. He told me he hated my smile, the way I laughed, my voice when I giggled. Anything that was part of my happy moments, he tried to destroy them. And I let him. After a while, I just kept hiding when I was happy, I kept smiling less, I never even laughed again. Then it just escalated and I started hiding when I was sad or if I was in pain. It was just easier. I got used to concealing my feelings and it just stuck with me even after we broke up." You looked up at Sam, waiting for a reaction from him.
"There isn't a thing I want more, than to see you laugh whole-heartedly, holding onto your stomach, tearing up from happiness." He smiled at you, which you returned in a small curve.
"I wish I could Sam, but it's not easy to change. It will take time." You knew yourself enough to know that it would take a great amount of power from you to try to get back to your old self and you knew that you will not be hundred percent ever again. But you loved him with every part of your body and you were willing to try.
"I saw you smile. I saw it when you were sitting in the library reading a book. I might have peeked." He chuckled at the thought. "I saw you laugh, when Rumsfeld started licking your face, back when we visited Bobby. I heard you giggle when you were singing in the shower. I would give anything to see you carefree, happy with a big smile across your face." He cupped your face and caressed your cheeks with his thumbs gently, while giving you the biggest smile he could manage. "I love everything about you and I wish nothing but to see a smile on your face each and every day." He leaned closer, meeting your mouth halfway. His kiss was slow, but loving, giving all his attention to your lips. He smiled into the kiss as you let out a moan, which made you quietly chuckle.
Tumblr media
"I want to hear more of that sound." He kissed you again, before he placed his forehead against yours, looking into your eyes with his deep green ones.
"I promise, I will try my best." You nodded. "It will take time, but I miss the old me too." You replied, knowing that you were to do anything in your power to get back even if just a fraction of your old self.
"You could start maybe waking me up with a smile on the morning. I wouldn't be against it." A goofy smirk appeared on his face and you playfully hit him on the chest.
"Don't get carried away." You warned him, but you didn't even realise your facial expression.
"I don't think I do. I'm loving the smile you are wearing now. It suits you perfectly." You finally realised what you were doing and wanted to quickly hide it, but he shook his head as if he understood. "Please don't." He spoke quickly as if he knew what you wanted to do. You heaved a deep sigh and let the happy smile stay on your face as you nodded at him. You were content, you were happy, you didn't want to hide it. It would take time to get yourself back, but you knew Sam was there for you and his support meant more than you could describe in words, so you just said the only words you could speak.
"I love you, Sam." You smiled and pulled him in for a quick peck on the lips.
"And I love you, Y/N. Smiling, laughing, giggling, chuckling... I just want you to be happy by my side." You wrapped your arms around him and hid your face in his neck, feeling comfort in his presence, knowing he wanted you just the way you were.

Rated G/K-K+
**Promise by igi_pigi: Thor visits Jane to say goodbye before he leaves for Asgard. Rec: Bittersweet but lovely post-AOU, semi AU pre-Ragnarok. | 1.1k
**Spooky Nights by igi_pigi: "So what is it about?" Thor asks. "Or are we to go in uninformed?"Jane's eyes instinctively flick towards the blank tv screen. Darcy was insistent about it being a horror movie this time - as they serve as "perfect romance fodder", according to the maniac. Jane has decided to go with the recent one, 'The Conjuring'. [Set a few months after Thor2] Rec: Just sweet, dumb, wonderful fluff. Not an ounce of angst to be found. Also Thor learning about Earth is always sweeeeet. | 3.2k
**Stars and Solitude by igi_pigi: It's Jane's first night in Thor's home, however unusual the circumstances. He wishes to show her somewhere. She thinks it's his room. [Set during Thor2] Rec: A nice lil add on, Thor inviting Jane further into his life. | 3.3k
**Can’t Go Back the Same Way You Came by gumbridge: Loki lets go. This is what happens after. (post-film; basically a fixit fic.) Rec: This is pretty Loki-centric, but Jane is fabulously written, the family unit that Loki gets inducted into makes me very happy, and the fosterson is understated but so important and wonderful. | 20k
**spring will come by LadyCharity: As if grieving over the death of her husband wasn't hard enough, Jane has to deal with Thor's angry, bitter, emotionally shot little brother. Rec: This is literally all pain but god it is so good. You can feel the love binding Jane and Loki and Thor and it is so, so well written. Holy shit. | Content Warning: Major Character Death | 12k
the universe in your hand by amonkeysue: For the free day of Fosterson Week 2019, Thor's finally taking the right chance to propose to Jane. Rec: an adorable little bite-sized proposal fic. | <1k
Who Lives, Who Dies by MissChrisDaae: When the dust settles, who is left? Rec: Post-Infinity War, semi-kidfic. Pretty cute, and brings Jane into the story like she should’ve been. | 1.2k
Morning by MissChrisDaae: Thor and Jane's morning is interrupted by their kids. Rec: Fluffy fluffy FLUFFY Jane and Thor with a whole gaggle of children. | <1k
Trending by MissChrisDaae: Jane and Darcy's work session gets a little derailed. Rec: For the Social Media day of Fosterson Week, a fluffy and silly bit, and feeds into the 2012 Avengers Fic nostalgia. | <1k
ever on and on by often_adamanta: Darcy has to correct three separate people at the reception about their relationship, not younger cousin or sister, but college professor and boss and finally best friend. Jane thinks about their surprise, the second glances they give her, and wonders. Rec: Jane deals with the implications of immortality. Her friendship with Darcy is so potent and real in this. | 3k
Before the Thunder Shook Us by niobium: #6, “Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?” #14, “Hey, I’m with you, okay? Always.” Rec: This is such a wonderful canon-insertion/canon divergence. Just enough fluff and bittersweetness to seem real. | 1k
Private Jokes by MissChrisDaae: Before his return to Asgard, Thor and Jane have a talk. Two years later, Thor misses a chance and Jane has to carry on. Rec: An AOU coda and a Ragnarok fix-it all in one. Feisty Jane and apologetic Thor. My bbs. | 1k
On the Physics of Magical Space Hammers by shinyopals: ‘So what does it mean to be “Worthy”?’ Jane asked. Jane doesn't mind sharing her life with Mjolnir. She just wishes she understood it a bit better. Rec: We’ve all wondered about Mjolnir and worthiness. Jane finally takes the initiative to find out with amazing results. | 4k
Fives Times Jane and Thor Broke Up and One Time They Didn’t by shinyopals: I didn’t know you were in the country, Jane,’ said Jane's grandmother. ‘Of course, nobody tells me anything.’ ‘It’s just a very last minute thing,’ said Jane, which Thor knew to be a lie. ‘I only arrived yesterday-’ another lie, ‘and I’m just on the way to work and thought I’d stop by and see Mom.’ This too was not true. ‘This is my friend Thor,’ she added, almost casually. ‘He’s been helping me with some work so we’re driving into the university together.’ This seemed the most flagrant of all the lies, but Thor decided not to let it show. It's not always convenient to be a relationship, so sometimes Jane and Thor have to make sacrifices. Rec: A giant SUCK ON THIS FEIGE that takes the “Jane and Thor break up” concept to the best possible places. | 12k
Hours Long and Short by shinyopals: The first night, Thor does not sleep. (Written for a post-TDW prompt for Fosterson Week 2017.) Rec: A really wonderful slice of life fic post-TDW. Deals with their trauma so wonderfully, and includes some lovely soft moments. | 4k
#7Days7Hobbies by shinyopals: Thor wants to try out some of Midgard's finest hobbies and turns to Twitter for suggestions. Jane isn't really sure how this is now her life. (Prompt for Day 4: Domestic, for Fosterson Week 2017.) Rec: One of my favorite things that’s ever been submitted for Fosterson Week. I love reading about Thor fully embracing Earth customs, particularly social media, which opal KNOWS is one of my weaknesses. | 5k
A Question of Honor by shinyopals: ‘Paintball?’ said Steve. ‘We could do… that…’ ‘What is that?’ asked Thor. He nuzzled into Jane’s hair. His mead-breath was giving her a headache. ‘It’s a thing- a game… thing. With paint.’ ‘Rogers, stop explaining stuff to Thor, you’re embarrassing me.’ Tony’s voice was remarkably coherent. Must have been drinking sensibly. Bastard. When it comes to deciding whether Earth or Asgard has better warriors, the stakes are high, and Jane is wishing she'd kept her big mouth shut. Rec: TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES FOR THE WIN. | 8k
The Gift Horse by fartherfaster: Sam and Darcy are formally introduced for the first time. Sam says “formally” with some flexibility. And a couch. A couch and a great deal of flexibility. Nevermind, he’s said enough. They met, is what he’s trying to say. Or, Sam's early days with the whole gang. Rec: Mostly a teamfic from Sam Wilson’s POV, which is awesome because how often do you see that. Fosterson is mostly background, but it made me smile so much. | 3k
on the verge of understanding something extraordinary by dirgewithoutmusic: “Jane, you’re an astrophysicist, not a storm chaser,” said Erik Selvig, and he was wrong. She was just an astrophysicist too. (A Jane Foster character study) Rec: I’m relatively certain I read this before and loved it, only it somehow didn’t make the reclist. An amazing, touching, wonderful, stunning portrait of Jane Foster. | 9k
starlight in her eyes by jdphoenix: “You,” she says, voice strong with accusation. “You’re the one who attacked me!” Thor really must laugh at that. “You are the one who attacked me. Or is it considered polite among stars to crash into one another?” Rec: A really awesome take on a Stardust fusion AU. Full of inquisitive Jane and cocky Thor. It gave me really hard vibes from the first Thor film. | 1.2k
a true lady of Asgard by jdphoenix: It's not uncommon for Jane to fall asleep working when she's chasing a new theory or hunting down evidence but the middle of a battle for the future of Asgard is not the time. Rec: Jane becoming a fixture of sorts in Asgard is one of my kinks. Also Jane being friends with Thor’s friends and the people of Asgard. Kink. | 3.5k
Afterwit by RC_McLachlan: Good with patients, bad with relationships. That's what she told Thor before she ripped the name tag from the shirt in his hands and crumbled it in her palm, relishing the way the sticky back clung to her skin before she threw it in the waste bin. She'd never been so right in her life up to that point—the rightest she's ever been was when she decided to offer the crazy blond guy a ride to his mysterious non-satellite in the desert. Or, the one in which Jane and Thor run into Donald Blake. Rec: I am such a sucker for the “running into the shitty ex with the New and Improved Partner” trope and this is that. All of that to such a wonderful degree. | 2.7k
drabbles by freshexes: Rec: Some really fantastic little bits of prose. Great voices of Thor and Jane. Some fluffies, some angst. | 1k
The Good Times are Killing Me by alwaysaprilia: Rec: Modern royals AU. Jane and Thor are perfect in this. The dialogue is sublime, and the interactions made me squee really hardcore. I only wish there was more. | 3.6k
College AU by anthropologicalhands: Rec: It’s kinda more meta/heacanon, but it’s really adorable. | 1k
all’s fair (in love and war) by sweetwatersong: This is what you fight for. This is what you yearn to feel: this moment, this passing of every second, this rush of life and the indomitable strength of the present. Thor is a warrior, born and bred, and he is glad of any battle - and yet, as with all things, even this can change. Rec: A Thor introspect and a really well done second person perspective. | 1k
Five Times Thor Gets His Shirt Off FOR GREAT JUSTICE And One Time He Doesn’t by shinyopals: Sometimes Thor’s armour is more useful when not being worn by him. He definitely doesn’t end up in these situations on purpose. Rec: Please bury me in every single five times fic shinyopals has written. This one might be my absolute favorite. So many fantastic interactions for Thor, not just with Fosterson (which is BEYOND perfect), but the whole team. Plus: naked Thor fighting bad guys in an apron. Also the SamSteve is so strong and I’m in love. | 9.8k
A Discussion of Hypotheticals by shinyopals: Jane and Thor talk about their future. Hypothetically. Rec: I am so glad we’ve made Fosterson Week a thing because this fic is WONDERFUL. Great communication makes me weak, and also so many squee-worthy moments. | 5k
Jane Foster Versus the Internet. Or: Five Times Jane Allegedly Dated An Avenger And One Time She Apparently Did Not by shinyopals: Jane discovers that the internet is The Worst. Rec: It’s the thing I loved so much I made graphics for it because it’s so good. Jane’s interactions with all the Avengers are delightful, not to mention her steady relationship with Thor that is so grounded and real. It’s also freaking hilarious. | 10.4k
Untitled by polyamoryavengers: Rec: Angst and fluff and Jane comforting Thor. *cartwheels into the sun* | 1k
Sexiest ‘Something’ Alive by Niobium: Tony is bound and determined to make sure a human is awarded the title of Sexiest Man Alive (he even has a solid candidate in mind); Jane just wants media outlets to get their science right. Rec: This is absolutely fantastic. Just the right kind of blend of humor, sweetness, and meta criticism ever. | 7.5k
The Hours Filled by websandwhiskers: Ritual and comradery are basic human needs. Rec: Focus on Jane, not a ton of Thor, but pregnant Jane is always a delight. | 1.7k
First Dates? by hariboo: Jane’s not really sure what her and Thor’s first date is? The party or the barbecue? In end does it matter? Rec: I am not a big fan of high school AUs, but if they float your boat, this is definitely worthwhile. | 1.4k | Part of Let’s Be Young Forever series
Of Car Crashes and Coffee by hariboo: “you bumped my car and I’m so piss- oh wow no you’re hot let’s go for a coffee” au prompt. Exactly what it says on the tin. Rec: This made me giggle. Super duper cute. | 1.3k
Tactile Perception by RC_McLachlan: “The day I met you, I knew you would see me.” Her hands find his face, sliding over his jaw, his cheeks, and she brings their foreheads together. “The day I met you, I hit you with my car. Twice.” Rec: *dies quietly* Teasing and cute story telling and just so many good things. | 2k
Clarke’s Third Law by shinyopals: “Of all the people to knock down the stairs, she would pick the practically-seven-foot-tall son of the Minister for Magic who just happens to be the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain.” Jane’s just trying to read every single book in the Hogwarts library in between classes, and she’s not quite sure how Thor happened to her. Rec: I never read Harry Potter but damn it this makes me want to. I just love this. So much. I don’t know how but it happened. I actually really wish there was more? | 3.8k
The Most Daring Prophecies–Dr Jane Foster at TED Talk by Rozilla: A transcript of Jane giving a TED Talk on her experiences of crossing the cosmos, Asgard and her hopes for the future of interstellar travel - as reported on WHIH. Rec: I can’t tell you how badly I wanted this to be real. Fosterson is mentioned a bit, and it makes me smile a lot. | 5.1k
Paradigm Shift by jdphoenix: “Jane’s implementing a ‘new organizational paradigm.’ She does this like once a year, usually when she’s extra stressed. Like after that time your brother messed up NYC.” Rec: cute domestics plus Jane is worthy. | 1.5k
Raging Storm by jdphoenix: Thor knows the moment he touches the hammer that it is not Mjolnir. Rec: A brilliant continuation of Paradigm Shift (above, previously recced) wherein Jane bests Loki and is worthy, plus Jane talking down berserker!Thor. So many of my Fosterson hot buttons. | 4k
Overlap by littlestardust: A moment between Thor and Jane. Alternative summary: Thor is respectful of Jane’s life choices, and also there is cuddling. Rec: Teeny tiny fic, but super cute. | <1k
amazed & confused by tashlae: Dating an alien/god/man who fell from the sky isn’t something to take lightly. Rec: Jane/Darcy centric with lots of talk about fosterson and a kinda sweet moment at the end. | 1k

Fosterson - dancing by batsonthebrain: Rec: Introspective, sweet, and with a heavy dose of mutual respect. | <1k
Unplanned by hariboo: The first person to hear Jane is pregnant isn’t Thor. It should be, but extenuating circumstances. This happens a lot when it comes to living in Stark Tower. Rec: Very much toeing the crack line. Baby!fic, obviously, plus fabulous Clint, and a semi?redeemed Loki. | 1.2k
clash of the (scientific) titans by anthropologicalhands: Thor brings Tony to meet Jane. Thor admits he probably could have thought it through a little better. Rec: this fic always makes me giggle. Fosterson is mostly background, but the interactions between everyone makes this worth it. | 1k
Through Doors by nayanroo: The Jedi Order knows a good team when they see it, but unfortunately even the best-planned missions always have something go hilariously wrong. That’s when the true strength of any bond is shown. Rec: A Star Wars fusion is always a good idea. The way Jane and Thor play off each other and their bond through the Force is lovely. | 4k
Straight On 'Til Morning by arsenicarcher: Thor and Jane are having a baby. Tony’s conflicted about the whole thing. Rec: Kinda Tony-centric, but I’m always up for a fosterson baby. | 4.4k
hard to keep the rainclouds out by veliseraptor: Rec: A unique view on Thor’s grief and Jane’s struggle to be there for him. Very lovely, very angsty. | 2.1k
Perils of an RPF Life by hariboo: Look, it isn’t that she isn’t excited for Jane, sure she is. But Darcy wonders if Jane ever thinks about that. The fact she’s dating the sexiest E.T. ever. Rec: Darcy’s voice in this is hilarious and touching all at once. Jane and Thor’s caring for each other is so clear and endearing I audibly squeed a few times. | 2k
amazed & confused by tashlae: Dating an alien/god/man who fell from the sky isn’t something to take lightly. Rec: Jane and Darcy friendship is a lot of fun. Jane’s pondering of their relationship seems very characteristic of her. | 1k

nothing is ever convenient (except to make things uncomfortable) by anthropologicalhands: After Thor returns, there is still the matter of responding to Richard. Rec: The awkwardness of dealing with Richard made me smile. A very smile inducing fic. | 1.3k
Jane on Top by Rozilla: Jane Foster is asked to lecture at the SHIELD Academy, but she feels her old anxieties and worries begin to creep in- but it’s okay. Darcy has her back, not to mention it appears she has a fan club at the Science and Tech Division of the SHIELD Academy! Rec: An unapologetic Jane-fest, which is my favorite kind of party. Fosterson is background, but very relevant. Darcy is a cool friend. | 4.1k
leave this star crossed world behind by anthropologicalhands: Sif visits Jane with an offering. Rec: Jane/ Sif friendship, and they talk about immortality. Great interactions and insights on fosterson. | 2k
Measured Uncertainties by plushbug: Gap-filler, applying to the 2011 Thor movie. A shot at what might have gone missing from the rooftop scene between Thor and Jane Foster, after his 'rescue’ from the SHIELD base. Fits between “…and Asgard. That’s where I come from.” and “Thank you, Jane." Rec: A good fill for the movies, explains some comic-verse continuties. Curious Jane is a lovely person, and Thor relishes in giving her knowledge. | 4k
halfway between the gutter and the stars by verity: Thor pulls his phone out of his pocket and lifts it above them to capture a picture of the moment, their hair lit by the sun, Jane’s soft smile next to his beaming grin. The Rise filter suits the image perfectly. “I shall title this 'THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE,’” Thor says, typing carefully on the touchscreen. “With the small image of your planet, flanked by sparkling stars." "Well, we abandoned a geocentric model of the galaxy hundreds of years ago,” says Jane. "'THE CENTER OF MY UNIVERSE,’“ Thor says. He amends his caption and selects the options to crosspost from Instagram to Twitter and Facebook. Rec: Okay I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this. So much. I love the world-building that Avengers + social media allows for. Also, cute Thor and Jane and team stuff plus Neil Degrasse Tyson and George Takei. So much good stuff. | 2.2k

Few So Generous by galaxysoup: After Odin falls into the Odinsleep, Frigga takes up her husband’s spear and the rule of Asgard. Rec: Jane and Thor from an outside perspective, and a different version of events. Though the focus is not on fosterson outright, it is still a very good fic. | 2.7k

Not "Functional” or “Elegant” by Niobium: Jane Foster has worked some bad jobs in her career; working with Stark Industries’ R&D is a vast improvement. Rec: Jane-centric, and gives her a great backstory. She and Thor are adorable as always. The author clearly respects Jane as a scientist, so that shows through a lot, which is amazing. | 1.6k
Jane Foster’s High School Reunion by Niobium: Jane Foster has a high school reunion to go to. Rec: Jane and Thor are adorable. Thor is a gentleman, and Jane gets to laugh in the face of a jerk. Very satisfying. | 5k

**Qeryana by Domenika Marzione (domarzione): Thor and his efforts to live on Midgard, as opposed to just defending it. Rec: Thor’s visceral struggle of living in a culture not his own, but is ultimately still hopeful and positive. | 3k
**First and Foremost, Red by RC_McLachlan: There's a reason Jane and Thor break up. It's not a great one but it's the right one. In the year that follows, Jane carries on, doesn't win a Nobel Prize, defeats Thanos and saves the universe, and finally allows herself to be a little selfish. Jane is clever, kind, and everything he wants, but can never have.Princess Jana of Ameos has spent her whole life studying incognito, getting the best global education possible under the alias of Jane Foster and trying not to think about romance, or the fiancé waiting for her back in Europe. Five Times the Bad Guys Interrupted Thor and Jane's Date Night and One Time Tony Freaking Wishes They Had by shinyopals: ‘I have told Steve,’ Thor says to Tony as he’s leaving to go back to his rooms, ‘but I thought I should tell you also. Jane and I plan to institute the ritual of ‘Date Night’.’ As always, Thor sounds like someone’s severely uncool father trying to be hip when he uses any slang invented since the Civil War. Tony's been an Avenger long enough to avoid deliberately tempting fate, even if he doesn't actually believe in fate. The universe is just plain cruel. That's why he knows to be prepared for the worst Hydra can throw at them whenever Thor and Jane make evening plans. Rec: IT’S SO FUDGING CUTE. I CAN’T. IT’S CUTE AND HILARIOUS AND PERFECT AS ALWAYS. | 4.7k
Unexpected Arrival by shinyopals: ‘Jane-’ Thor cut himself off, opening and closing his mouth without managing words. Her name on his lips sounded so familiar; warm and deep and like nothing else mattered. An undercurrent of nerves there that she could still hear after all this time, that she didn’t think anyone else would be able to. She wanted to run to him, bury her face in his neck and jump back in time. Back before the break up - not enough time for each other with the universe in peril. Back before the baby. The baby she still sometimes wondered if she should have terminated to save them both this moment. Rec: The angsty and painfully yearning babyfic that you never knew you needed. | 2k
Steadfast as the Stars Above by jdphoenix: It was not meant to be like this. With him so small and weak, fighting every second to find purchase on a tiny world that spins faster than he can fathom. He wanted to be strong for her. Rec: A fabulous use of the Soulmate AU that completely slots itself perfectly into canon. | 8.3k
too poor for silver, i have a copper tongue by venndaai: “Maybe you don't have the perfect words all the time but, you always have something to say, right? You never have to, have to stop and think about it, and you never stumble over your words or anything.” He squinted at her. “I thought such things simply aspects of Midgardian speech, which you know I am not well versed in.” Jane sighed. “They're not supposed to be.” Rec: A story featuring an explicitly autistic Jane Foster. So wonderfully done. Full of empathy and love and kindness and warmth. | 1.3k
Gift by spikewriter: Jane looked at the brightly colored rug on the floor of the farmhouse in the Hudson Valley they were still moving into. “I like it,” she admitted with a bit more enthusiasm, picturing how her six-year-old self would have run screaming around the room in glee at such a gift. Rec: Some post-TDW fluff with bonus Darcy inclusion. | 1.5k
to candle incandescent as you pass by sweetwatersong: The legacy of King Tristan and the Star Queen Yvaine is not a mere tale in Stormhold, a fantastical portion of the kingdom's history. It lives and breathes in the blood of their descendants, in their long lives and graceful aging, in the ruling King Odin and his son, the Crown Prince Thor… Rec: A Stardust/Huntsman/Thor fusion that isn’t so much a full fic as it is, as the author describes, “a sketch.” Still a really lovely read, a great blend of the films. | 5k
Raiment of The Gods by randomcelt: They say the clothes make the man ... or the god. But sometimes, they do the most for his friends. (Or, a tale of all the times someone else wore Thor's clothes and the adventures necessitating such a development.) Rec: A great Thor character piece. A heavy emphasis on Thor + the team which I love. Runs you through the full gamut of emotions in the best way. | 10k
How to Quantify by Rozilla: It turns out Jane has a personal top ten list of favourite equations - and a nice expanse of hot Norse God to write them on. Rec: Super sweet and also contains the phrase ‘who said science never got you laid’ so. Yep. | 2k
this new bravery by hoosierbitch: For alfadorisawesome, who requested Thor/Jane “about to hook up with someone who doesn’t know.” This is my favorite piece so far. <3 Rec: Incredibly well done Trans Jane Foster. I am such a sucker for open lines of communication between partners, and that’s exactly what this is. Thor is incredibly sweet, and this story establishes his very nonbinary opinions on gender which I LOVE, but he still makes an effort to understand Jane’s experience. I love this fic so much. | 1k
The Hammer and the Ice by grav_ity: In the course of her short and mortal life, the heart of Jane Foster has been twice touched by the sons of Asgard. Rec: I adore AUs where Jane was in the Avengers. This is a short flashfic, but really lovely. | 1k
A Royal Wedding by MissChrisDaae and Science_Thunder_Lightning_Love: After three years, ten months, an alien invasion, a cosmic event, and a baby, Thor and Jane finally make it to the altar. Rec: Ridiculously cute fluffies. | 7.5k | Part of the Convergence series
The Thunder God Job by fuzzy_paint: Jane and Thor are thieves. Rec: Oh lawd, the AU I never knew I needed. Beautiful characterization with a rich world they’re placed in. I only wish it was 200 chapters. | 16.2k
there was a star danced by tosca1390: This is the familiar rhythm of her days; the coffee shop until one pm, five days a week, then class and the lab, then home or the library. Here, in her last year with a future dark ahead of her, she doesn’t see anything to change her ways. Jane and Thor, meeting at a coffee shop. Rec: College/Coffee Shop AU. Bless the AU gods. Sly little Shakespeare references. Thor and Jane being cute, sweet idiots. | 6.2k
Proximity Alarm by fayedartmouth: Thor comes back to Earth. Jane thinks it’s great. Except all the times it isn’t. Rec: It’s a great writing style. Jane and Thor are awkward, adorable, and passionate in a realistic way. Them navigating how to be together is a challenge that not all authors can rise to, so this is a great piece. So much yes. | 13.7
Never So Empty by iwillavengeyou: Thor has traveled the nine realms and seen many things in his centuries of godhood. What could possibly make everything seem so empty? Rec: Wow, just no. This hurts. This is not cool. Ow. Ow. Transcends angst and ends up somewhere much worse. Read if you’re into self-flagellation or are making a reclist. I literally yelled “Wow rude” at the conclusion of this fic. Major Character Death | 1.5k
An Ancient Gesture by Niobium: Jane and Thor come up with a tradition for dealing with situations where a social function gets to be a little too much for either of them. Rec: Super smiley, stomach flutter inducing fic. Fluff upon fluff, but also Asgard culture/worldbuilding! Yay! | 2.8k
Five Times Jane Kinda Sorta Accidentally Slept With An Avenger, The One Time She Didn’t, And the Many (Many) Times It Wasn’t Even a Little Accidental by shinyopals: Some people collect Avengers trading cards. Some collect action figures. Jane Foster, almost entirely without meaning to, has them all beat. Rec: If you’re not convinced by that title and summary, I’m not sure I can help you. Hilarious, in character, and kinda cute. | 9.3k
Well Remembered by Rozilla: Jane’s met Tony Stark before. Rec: Cracky and hilarious. | 1.1k
you may end up wanting more from this life by tosca1390: Everything is cold where it was once warm, and Jane is at a loss. Rec: Not sure why I haven’t put this beautiful thing on here yet. Deals with their separation, and a great character study of Jane. Angsty. | 1.6k
The Hearts of Stars and Thunder by MissChrisDaae, Science_Thunder_Lightning_Love: Rec: A Snow White and the Huntsman/Thor fusion. Really great use of characters, and all of the medieval battles and fosterson abound. | 7.7k
You Get One Phone Call by MissChrisDaae: Following the Battle of Manhattan, Jane gets a phone call. Rec: Post-battle strain, but then suddenly fosterson cuteness hits you like a wrecking ball. | <1k
Abs of Thunder by Unknownnobody32: During a flight on-board Stark’s jet, Jane learns how turbulence, pasta sauce, her Thunder god boyfriend, and his rock hard abs can soon become a recipe for embarrassment all thanks to bad timing. Rec: Takes washboard abs to another level. God, this is just too funny. | 2.1k
London, underground by Maybug: Clint Barton meets some familiar faces and has a very bad day hunting the jotunbeast left behind in London after the convergence. Rec: an awesome outside POV on fosterson, plus badass science Jane and her science assistant Thor, and awesome Clint. | 2.6k | Part of the Fosterson Files series
We have loved the stars to fondly by Maybug: Jane and Thor are up to something on the roof of the Tower. Tony thinks he knows what it is, but doesn’t see why he should be the one to tell them to stop. Rec: Outside POV of fosterson. Basically Thor does cute/dangerous things for Jane’s happiness. | 1.8k | Part of the Fosterson Files series
change places by coffeesuperhero: Jane and Thor get in the way of a Stark experiment. This goes about as well as you might expect. Rec: Body swap madness. So many cute moments though, plus some implied sexytimes with swapped bodies “for science.” So much yes. | 3.1k
Slowly, We Adjust by katsumi: Jane Foster leaves the lab on Friday exhausted, overworked, and petrified that she won’t get the grant proposal for her wormhole experiment finished in time to get funding. So, of course she gets rear-ended, because that’s just the kind of week she’s having. Rec: Protective/Worried Thor is best Thor. Reassuring Jane is best Jane. So much angst/cute. | 1.4k
Put a Ring on It by fuzzy_paint: Jane makes Thor a wedding ring. Rec: What it says on the tin. | 3.9k
The Pretty Birds Have Flown by beanarie: "Jane never pukes, not when she first wakes up, not at any other time of day. She has a cast-iron stomach and wicked stable inner ears, and morning sickness doesn’t stand a chance.“ The one where Thor knocked Jane up that night they chilled on the roof, and offscreen Frigga swore Heimdall to secrecy in the interest of protecting everyone involved. The All-Father’s house has a lot of enemies, okay. Rec: Heartbreaking, fluffy, and feelsy. Batten down the emotional hatches. | 2.2k
Jane Foster and the Impossible Library by Niobium: Jane, Darcy, and Thor find a peculiar library, and their afternoon takes a turn for the bizarre. Rec: This one’s wild from start to finish (I say that lovingly), but as always, Niobium delivers on fantastic characterizations. Not super-duper shippy, but so worth the read. | 12.4k | Part of the Jane Foster Works series
Northern Climes by Tyranusfan: Six months after the Avengers saved New York from the Chitauri invasion, Thor must convince Odin to return him to Earth. Rec: Jane and Thor doing cutesy couple-y things. The author captures well the eager awkwardness of a new couple while remaining true to their characters and story. | 4.3k
nowhere to go but up by anthropologicalhands: It is not uncomfortable, waking up with Thor’s arm draped over her waist, their legs entangled under the sheets. It is inconvenient when she wants to get out of bed or, at the very least, look over last night’s data. Rec: So very fluffy it makes me want to roll in it. Adorably domestic, too. Jane at her scienceing finest. | 2.3k
Late Night Waiting by hariboo: Jane didn’t often get home late. Rec: A very sweet and simple Jane/Thor that makes their relationship seem very grounded and real. Also, it is so sweet it makes my teeth hurt, and then I just want more. | 2.1k
Uru by sheffiesharpe: Thor cannot look after Jane, no matter how he wants to. Hogun offers a solution. Puente Antiguo receives another unexpected visitor. Rec: The author makes a really strange concept work brilliantly. Jane and Thor’s pining is frustrating and well-written, and the writing sizzles with unresolved sexual tension. | 6k
Star-Crossed by websandwhiskers: A vignette taking place during "Avengers”, after shawarma, before Thor returns to Asgard with Loki. Thor and Jane have their reunion, and discuss their future. Rec: Jane is an awesome person, and Thor respects the hell out of her. One of the best portrayals of Jane Foster that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. | 1.7k
The Morning After by fuzzy_paint: "I can’t believe we’re doing this,“ Jane says. "Can you believe we’re doing this?" Rec: Even without much in way of dialogue, Jane and Thor’s devotion is plain. We get a little view of domestics, too. | 1.7k
The Observable Universe by Sarea Okelani (sarea): As an astrophysicist, Jane studies the observable universe for work, but in her free time what she likes to study is a bit closer to home. (Or: Jane has a low tolerance for stupidity. Clint and Natasha take exception to being called stupid.) Rec: Not a ton of overt Jane/Thor, and is mostly an outsider POV on Clint/Natasha, but there is lots of team shenanigans and there is definitely a lot of affection for Thor from Jane’s POV. | 10k
Deal by GreenVelvetCurtains: Jane introduces Thor to the great Midgardian tradition of being made to remove your clothing when you lose a hand of poker. Everybody wins! Rec: I got a huge kick out of this one. Toeing the line of becoming crackfic. Oh, how I wish there was a smutty follow up. | 2k
Before the Fall by verily-thor: Jane helps Thor prepare for Ragnarök. Rec: Oh god, if you’re in the mood for some sadness, come on in here. Tragic without being grotesque, stripping it down to the bare emotions, and two people who love each other more than anything. | <1k
top gun is not a movie; it’s a lifestyle by hariboo: jane and thor got that loving feeling. Rec: an AU that is reminiscent of Top Gun, which is a fab movie. Awesome Jane, and adorable Thor. | 2k
A Brief Introduction to Asgardian Dinner Parties by jonesandashes and pentapus:  This is the first Earth-Asgard bonding opportunity since that time Loki punched interstellar relations in the face, twice, and the king and queen of Asgard are here, and they are her boyfriend’s parents. Jane is absolutely not going to get drunk at this party, is the point. Rec: This fic makes you smile, then laugh, then cringe, then do it all over again. | 4.5k
Destiny, Disrupted by me: Loki never sends the Destroyer to Midgard. Rec: Because it wouldn’t be a true reclist without a self-plug. | 3.5k
Rated M (these won’t contain the smuts unless otherwise noted)
**The Teardrop by igi_pigi: Post-Infinity War reunion of Thor and Jane. Forewarning - heavy angst. [Set right after the movie] Rec: Angst, melodrama, and desperation ahoy. Contains some smut | 4.2k
all the best distractions by fuzzypaint: They've found a rhythm when they share Jane's lab, Jane with her science and Thor with his own work, and though it is easy to be distracted by each other, usually they're both very capable of avoiding such things. Usually. Rec: Cunniligus in the lab ;) | Contains smut | 1.8k
Patience and Poker by Rozilla: Jane and Thor sneak off from one of Stark's parties for a quiet chat. Nope, just kidding, hot tub sex. Snarky hot tub sex. Best kind. Rec: What it says on the tin and it’s delightful. | Contains smut | 4k
A Deal with the Duke: An Epilogue by hariboo: Thursdays were busy days around the house, but today was the first day of winter much. Thankfully, the skies were clear, without a hint of storm, but the wind was sharp and bit into his cheeks. He was looking forward to a warm meal and seeing his wife, curling around her in bed for rest of the evening. Rec: Historical romance AU. A nice slice of life bit. Contains minor smut | 2.8k
Ray of Light by evieeden: To Thor, Jane shone brighter than any star in the sky. Advent fic for 18th December. Rec: A sweet, introspective fic from Thor’s POV. | 1.5k
just memories to hold by tosca1390: When the dust and light and smoke clears, the roof of Stark Tower is still intact. Jane can still feel the surge of power in her fingertips, thinks she could hear the songs of Asgard, feel the chill of Jotenheim, as the bridge built itself through Yggdrasil, Thor calling her name across realms. And then, a shadow falls over Jane. Rec: A really, really great post-Avengers reunion fic. Contains some smut | 3.6k
set with the stars by hariboo: jane tries to teach thor earth’s stars. tries, being the operative word. Rec: Jane and Thor getting distracted by each others’ sexy is my favorite thing. Contains some smut | 1.5k
It Could Be Sweet by hariboo: Jane and Thor traverse their last year of high-school. However, they didn’t expect it to be together. Rec: I am not a big fan of high school AUs, but if they float your boat, this is definitely worthwhile. Contains some smut | 7.8k | Part of Let’s Be Young Forever series
Thunder Whispered Low by Niobium: Rec: I love it when Thor talks about his magic, and the bridge that makes between him and Jane. Contains minor smut | 1.5k
Specularity by Niobium: Jane’s bad day improves significantly with a little reflection. Rec: A great slice of life fic, really, really nice interactions. Contains very minor smut | 3k | Part of the Jane Foster Works series
My Blood is Singing by Niobium: Sometimes Thor pushes a storm a little too far. And, sometimes, the storm pushes back. Rec: Jane and Thor at their domestic finest, with some internal angst and the simple comfort found with another person. Contains smut | 2.9k
All my faces are alibis by agirlnamedchuck: Thor is strong and stubborn and she thinks she could be a good king. Maybe even a great one. Besides she’d never seen herself as queen anyways. Rec: Genderswapped Thor. Fosterson is minimal, but amazing insights into Thor’s character. | 6.5k
Leaving On An Airship by Rozilla: To escape to a better life, Jane Foster, maid to a cruel villainous Baron, must leave her lover and disguise herself. But not before one last goodbye. Rec: *cartwheels into the sun* FOSTERSON STEAMPUNK WITH SMUT AND FEELINGS OH GOD SEND HELP. Contains some smut | 2.6k
Unrememberance by letthesongtakeflight: Before he became the Huntsman, he was a prince. Rec: Marvel/Snow White and the Huntsman fusion. Prequel of sorts to SWatH. Angst on angst. Major character death | 1.2k
steal my heart 'til kingdom come by tosca1390: Her eyes stray over reading upon reading; she thinks she can taste the tang of energy and ozone even now, and that strange sense of pine and smoke that she associates with Thor. Rec: AU post-Avengers where Thor goes to visit Jane who has remained in New Mexico. Yay for a great collision of two characters who absolutely did not prepare for any of this. Contains some smut | 2.1k
fingerprints that leave me covered for days by tosca1390: It is not all lost, to be stranded here. Perhaps, he could make something of it. Rec: Another AU in which Thor is on Earth longer in the first movie. Great development for Thor, and the relationship he has with Jane feels very real. | 5.5k
journeys end in lovers’ meeting by tosca1390: Solitary moments in snow; it sounds conducive to rest, to a time of rejuvenation before her research resumes. Rec: A really cute AU based on the movie The Holiday (which I’ve never seen before). Just adorable holiday fluff wherein Thor is human. Contains some smut | 19k
Bound by Medie: It was ironic that his and Loki’s greatest mistakes had led to her. Rec: Some tame bondage featuring dom!Jane. Contains smut | 1.1k
Rated E (these will contain the smuts unless otherwise noted)
**Ambush by orphan_account: Jane isn't into violence, but there's something about those SHIELD debriefings, something primal and raw about hearing how the bad guys got their asses handed to them by the good guys, something that inspires her to act on instinct alone. Rec: If you’ve got a thing for Thor’s armor.... mmmhmmm. | 1.1k
Is This More than You Bargained for Yet by Anshin Archives: Thor and Jane's first go at sex. Jane's expecting Thor to have a cock, and is surprised when he doesn't. It doesn't take her long to adjust. (Pure porn for the excuse of writing Thor with a vagina.) Rec: Genderfluidity and completely accepted queerness for the win. | 2.5k
When Jane Pegged Thor by waldorph: They raise them slutty in Asgard. Rec: What it says on the tin. Pretty damn hot if pegging is up your alley ;). | 1.4k
Practical Magic by Rozilla: Freya’s flowers can do funny things to you. Rec: Roz is the queen of smut so this is amazing. Kind of a play on sex pollen, but takes it in a totally new, refreshing direction. Asgardian sex magic for the win. | 2.8k
built on the old rivers by fartherfaster: You catch her wrist and delicately kiss the bone of it. “Nothing to be sorry for,” you tell her. She composes her reality in absolutes and theories and the true phenomenal names of things. Colloquial language is not her means of communication. You like her hard lines, her curiosity, her determination. Jane would never call Mjolnir just a hammer, and that puts a small, needy part of you to rest. There is a storm in the desert, and Thor comes to terms with all of his changes. The one where human-Thor has Lichtenberg figures. Rec: Incredibly poignant and the author makes a second-person POV work incredibly well. | 3.3k
Tell Me Something New by hariboo: "Compile the data of the reading we took during Convergence. The gravitational–“ She trails off, can’t finish the sentence out loud or in her mind, her voice catching on the words as Thor’s mouth latches onto her throat. Rec: Cute and hot and perfect because smart Jane is Thor’s biggest turn on. | 1.5k
On the Throne by murdur: His insistence that she should sit on the throne had been in jest and merriment, but the sight of her sitting upon the seat now makes his heart beat quick and steals his breath. Rec: Oh my god, Thor goes down on Jane while she sits on the throne of Asgard. I have nothing else to say. *dies* | <1k
Experience Counts for Something by Rozilla: Jane was surprised at Thor’s new female body- but pretty keen to explore it. Rec: Bisexual Jane and Genderfluid Thor are great. Some hot femslash fosterson. | 2.3k
Just Get In The Van by paxnirvana: Written for a prompt on Anenko’s Bad Sex & Awkward Romance: a comment-a-thon that got away from me. Rec: All first time sex is gonna be awkward, friends, even if you’re Jane and Thor. Might as well enjoy the ride. | 6.3k
close your eyes and count to ten by fuzzy_paint: Post battle, Jane and Thor make sure the other still lives. Rec: Reassurance of safety sex is hot. Sue me. Still manages to be angsty too. | 2.4k
We Woke Up In The Kitchen by hariboo: He didn’t think he could miss someone as he missed her, but there is something singular in Jane that pulls at him and threatens to overtake him. Rec: post-TDW sexies that are adorable and awkward and hot all at once, plus some really nice conversation at the end. This author just really gets Jane and Thor in a way that is always awesome to read. | 3.7k
A Helping Hand by fuzzy_paint: Jane can’t sleep. Thor has a solution. Rec: Some nice, cute sleepy!smut to help Jane to relax and stop thinking. | 1.5k
The Scientific Method by Serious Snugglebunnies: Thor is much too honourable to have meaningless sex with Jane - but will he do it for the sake of science? Rec: Cracky, hilarious, and hot. | 3.3k
A Thorny Situation by GreenVelvetCurtains: Jane has a problem and she’s not afraid to try and solve it. Rec: A hot fantasizing/masturbation piece starring the lovely Jane Foster. | 2.7k
Detours by ancarett: Life is a highway. Jane takes Thor on the detours. Missing moments from the movie. Rec: Some mildly awkward sex which is actually kind of adorable and works out for everyone in the end. Not my favorite smut ever, but worth a read. | 3.9k
Say It’s Okay by theleaveswant: Darcy gave her a sympathetic pout and walked around the table to put both hands on Jane’s upper arms. “Okay. Honey? I know this isn’t your preferred way of handling things, but it looks like you’re going to have to talk with him.” Rec: Big premium on 'consent is sexy.’ Jane teaches Thor how to pleasure her. Not my favorite smut, but worth a read. | 2.1k
Accretion by RC_McLachlan: "You are burning inside,” Thor whines, rolling his hips again, and she rides it out helplessly, eyes rolling back, lungs cramping with envy for air. “Like a star." Rec: A seriously hot look at the simple difference in size between Jane and Thor. | 1.6
Salt On Your Lips by Barkour: The strawberry daiquiri is indeed a drink worthy of adulation, but Thor prefers the taste of Jane Foster. Rec: For it’s sense of fun that comes with the sex, and the pure happiness of two people who simply enjoy being in each other’s company. | 2k
Good Morning by me: Jane wakes up with Thor between her legs.My addition to Fosterson Week’s smut day. Rec: Because it wouldn’t be a true reclist without a self-plug. | 2k
