before we get into this post if u dont know what a beauty binder is i recommend reading @prissygrlsorority's posts about beauty binders by looking up beauty binder so that u could make ur own and kind of understand this post better.

candy baby is a flavored lip gloss thats flavored like, you guessed it, candy. specifically cotton candy. and sugar high has a sweet taste to it and a shimmery glow.

oil perfumes (strawberry, vanilla, cupcake scented)

liquid pearl luminescent serum

what "glow up tips" do you have that (actually) work?

I know some of the common ones like "ooh drink water" and whatever, which I already do (I try to eat healthy most days, drink water every day, exercise 5 days a week, etc.)

And I understand that while all these work, I was looking for more short-term glow up tips, like how to glow up your hair/makeup etc. if that makes sense.

So I guess what advice do you have for a "overnight" glow up (quote unquote)?

Yes, totally get what you're saying (and that's great – it's all just so important, honestly). Here are some of my "overnight glow-up hacks" if we shall call them that, which I believe fit into this category:

For your hair, use a mask on your hair the night before you want it to look extra shiny and smooth (I use this HASK one – it's $2-3 and works like magic). Wash it in cold water, and let it fully dry (even for a little while after using heat to dry it!) before putting it up or playing with your style at all

Dermaplane your face, tweeze your eyebrows and then put on an extra hydrating face lotion to lock in glowing, fresh-looking skin (I use Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, it's a "dupe" for La Mer's famous face cream)

Exfoliate your entire body with a sugar scrub and use an ultra-hydrating body lotion (I use Tree Hut's Coco Colada scrub and Uriage's Xemose Lipid-Replenishing Anti-Irritation Cerat moisturizer)

Do a face massage/use a facial or body massage ball to depuff your face

An orgasm is a natural lip-plumper

Use Vaseline/Homeoplasmine to hydrate under your eyes + your lips

Apply concealer as a primer under your eyeliner (use a brush to thinly trace it before) setting powder/face powder under your eyes to "lock in" your eyeliner so it doesn't smudge (or at least way less)

Layer a cream blush with a powder blush over the top right away your cheekbones for a glowy, more lifted face

Outline your brows and lips with concealer with set powder over the top to avoid brow or lip product smudging

To help your lip color last all day: Apply a coat of lipstick, and blot excess with a tissue. Then, apply another coat and blot the excess again

i recently got to see a production of Wicked at the Memphis orpheum theatre and it was amazing. I have seen many productions of Wicked on tour and in NYC on Broadway and this was probably the best one I’ve seen. Truly. There was never a loss of energy in this production. here is what I wore:

maya sakamaki: makeup headcanons

makeup is actually something maya has been aware of since she was brought to the brothel (childhood days 😭😭😭)

there has never been a day where she saw the women put on tons of white powder or makeup on their face and paint their lips bright red bcos men like it when you leave stain on them

maya has touched them once but due to her fear of becoming a main target of the customers, she decided she has to be somewhat ordinary so these men won't call for her (imagine old bastards wanting to rape a child dafuq)

the only time she used makeup again is whenever gilbert would take her to parties in the human world and disguise her as his "daughter"

other than that, maya mostly kept herself bare since she had a hard time finding makeup products that suit her dry skin (like her skin's as dry as the sahara desert)

she just got lucky with kanato in terms of the makeup department bcos fun fact: kanato knows a whole sht of makeup, even bought products that suit her face and skin tone

maya's color palette is basically more on the cherry pink side of things? she's basically a winter cool type of girl so colors on the cooler scale of the spectrum works for her

tbh she leans more on the Japanese side of makeup, meaning more emphasis on the eyes rather than the lips along with cool toned palettes

for base makeup, she opts for light ones like a tinted moisturizer since she doesn't have to worry abt them being thick or something. however, she doesn't wear them at school bcos she's afraid the teachers will notice and have it removed from her (some schools in Japan forbid female students from wearing excessive makeup tho but I think Ryoutei is a different case)

ofc maya's eye makeup is on point since Japanese makeup is all about the eyes so she always has her eyebrow along with her subtle eyeliner and mascara (yes they are all waterproof bcos Japan nailed their products like that)

the same thing applies for her blush bcos apparently the drunk blush technique is famous in Japan way waaaaaaaay back so she puts a bit of her liquid blush on the apples of her cheek and spread them evenly (kinda like baby doll cheeks vibes)

for her lips, she uses 3 to 4 products, depending on the occasion cause maya's lips are so pale so she had to paint a bit of color in them (ya know so no one would think she's a vampire lol)

at school, she only uses her favorite Benetint and tops it with her cherry lip oil. sometimes she would wear her Opera Lip Tint no 12 especially when her lips are so dry but if she needed something vibrant, especially during her dates with kanato or when they attend a party, that's when she whips out her pinkish red glossy tint.

she actually doesn't wear any powdery products on her face since they have this tendency to create kinda like a clumping texture on her skin so when she's not wearing any base makeup, she would just go for a handy moisturizer (I wanna say sunscreen then I remembered she has night classes)

but overall maya dons a natural pink makeup that hides her true self as the vampire doll, unassuming yet dangerous to those who dare touch her without permission

I love your blog it always inspire me to work more on my feminine energy and my appearance 😢

I am kinda not that good looking and I think I’m also a little intimidating or maybe I’m a little serious. And it seems that this appears on my face.. it’s really hard on me because nobody from where I live approach me or even want me as their friend.. “males”.

Although I’m tall, my body is beautiful and I have a long black hair.. I know my face isn’t pretty, and that makes me depressed and down most of the time although I don’t show it and I fake my confidence. I’m really so tired of this and I’m not financially free yet to do any plastic surgeries. What do you advice me to do!!

Plastic surgery, Botox, and fillers are not always (rarely, honestly) the answer to facilitating your "glow up." In my opinion, the safer, more subtle, and more natural the treatment, the better. Some things you can do to enhance your natural features to suit your beauty preferences include:

Curate a gold metal-worthy skincare routine

Get your brows professionally shaped (and/or lamented) and tinted

Practice face yoga

Use a face sculpting tool (like a microcurrent facial device or a gua sha – depending on your needs/goals)

Incorporate strawberries into your weekly diet for whiter teeth

Manipulate your face shape with makeup (contouring and highlighting your nose/cheekbones/chin, be mindful of your blush/eyeliner/mascara application, use natural lip plumping agents/cosmetic products)

Ensure you're consuming a healthy diet and getting all your essential nutrients (nothing replicates a healthy glow from within)

P.S.: Male attention is not a worthwhile currency to strive for. Put effort into looking your best for YOU. Sure, it's nice when other people notice your external beauty, but most "male" attention or even "friendship" has deeper motivations than flattery or friendship. Something to keep in mind :)
