Platonic Yandere Phantom Thieves x reader

A/n: So, I'm taking a break from The Last of Us to write some P5 headcanons. After this, I'm going to start on Regret pt.2 and then some headcanons for The Last of Us, so expect that this weekend. Please Like, Comment, and Relog if you enjoy. (Also warning, I am very much American and don't know how the Japanese schooling system works, so please take that into account before reading)

The Phantom Thieves are as thick as, well, thieves. They are pretty protective of each other, mostly due to all they been through together. They were all once loners and outcasts, you know? That's a big reason why you become friends with them.

You transferred to Shujin in your second year. You were new to the area, and you weren't in a rush to make friends. You planned on just keeping to yourself until you graduated. Unlike a lot of your peers, you were not that worried about the "delinquent" school who was on parole. You've seen him around hanging with some other students. He didn't look that bad. His friend group was pretty diverse though, a true delinquent and a model, both of which were in your year.

A part of you was jealous, this guy who was branded as a criminal was able to make more friends than you. You shouldn't be upset at him for something that he can't control, but when you're eating lunch alone and catch them out of the corner of your eye, or when your when you're at the shopping district and you hear them loudly talking in the store you're in, even over your music, you can't help but get agitated. It's like they're following you, flaunting their friendship in your face.

You were doing your thing for about a few months before the supposed delinquent introduced himself to you. Akira Kurusu was his name, and he asked if you wanted to have lunch with him and his friends. You were kind of surprised, since he's literally never talked to you before this, nor has any of his friends. You were reluctant to except his invitation, thinking it was some sort of a prank, but you took the risk, since you were very desperate for friends.

Lunch was nice, and you learned a lot about his friend group. Akira was very much, not a delinquent, and shared some food with you. The real delinquent, Ryuji Sakamoto, was also really nice. He was pretty talkative and argued a lot with one of Akira's other friend Ann Takamaki. She was girly and sweet, which made it impossible to dislike her. Finally, there was Makoto Niijima, a third year, and the student council president. She was definitely the most intimidating, but of course, she was very nice, even offering to help you study if you ever needed.

You really enjoyed your time together with them. It was surprising that such a seemingly tightknit group was willing to let you hang out with them. At first, you thought this was a onetime thing, them just taking pity on a new student, but then the next day they acted confused when you went to your regular spot for lunch, Ann having to drag you over to their table. Then a week past and you had each of their phone numbers, each of them texting you nonstop. After a month went by, you met their other friend, Yusuke Kitagawa, who was definitely strange, but still very friendly and likeable.

You even got to meet Akira's strange cat Morgana, who definitely seemed more human than cat. You've seen him around school, appearing in some of the areas you would hang around by yourself. You assumed it was a coincidence, that they Akira took him in because he was a stray, but you couldn't help but feel as though he was watching you.

It was a strange friendship, but you were thankful, nonetheless. However, they were times when they would disappear for a while, with very little words for why. When you'd ask, they would play it off as being busy. You knew it was a lie, all of them were busy? At all the same time? Not very likely.

A part of you thought the problem was you. They all conveniently stopped hanging out with you around the time they became friends with another third year, Haru Okumura, a semi-celebrity and a young prodigy Futaba Sakura. They were obviously bored of you; you didn't offer them anything. You weren't extremely smart or attractive, nor were you particularly talented at anything. You were nothing compared to them, of course they wouldn't want to be around you anymore.

You stopped hanging out with them, and slowly stopped responding to their messages, even when your phone blew up with messages asking about where you were. You didn't show up to school as often, your grades dropping. You didn't care about your grades anymore, to busy wallowing in yourself pity to even notice your friends attempts on reaching out to you.

The Phantom Thieves were worried. Everything was going fine until you randomly stopped talking with them. You didn't respond to their messages, nor did you show up to school, so how were they supposed to help you? Ryuji immediately accused you of having a palace, and it took both Akira and Makoto both to calm him down enough so that they could come up with a plan to help you. Haru suggested that they just corner you at your home, which they of course new the location of. They all agreed that that would be the best solution.

When they arrived at you home, they let themselves in, knowing that your family wouldn't be home around this time. Ryuji immediately finds your room and starts demanding that you talk to them, even when you tell him to go away. After many minutes of pleading from the Phantom Thieves, you finally told them how you were feeling.

They all were conflicted. They didn't know whether or not to just straight up tell you what's been going on, since there's a large chance you wouldn't believe them. However, the took the chance and told you everything, claiming they were The Phantom Thieves. At first you though it was a joke, that they came up with an outlandish excuse for ignoring you, but you remembered the calling cards littered around the school during the incident with Mr. Kamoshida. You remember feeling eyes on you when you picked up one of them and read it out to yourself. Suddenly, everything made a little bit more sense.

It was strange, learning that your friends were a secrete group of vagilities, but you were happy to have them back. Though, you couldn't help but feel as though they were more possessive. Suddenly, one of them was walking you to and from school. You were always with one of them when they weren't busy, and they were checking up on you obsessively when they couldn't be with you. It became a little suffocating, but you assumed that's just what friends do, right?

Types of Phantom Thief Outfits

Oftentimes when someone genderbends one of the male Phantom Thieves, their Thief outfit is always redone to include a skirt. This is something I always found strange, considering the fact that none of the girls wear skirts as part of their Thief outfit. In fact, with P5X introducing a truckload of new Phantom Thieves, I realized that the lack of skirts and dresses almost seems to be a rule when it comes to the designs, as NONE of the new characters wear skirts.

So, because of that, I wanted to break down the kinds of outfits the Thieves actually wear, from most common to least common.

The most common type of outfit the Thieves wear is a one-piece. While most of these are skintight bodysuits (Oracle, Puppet, Panther, Queen, etc), there's also jumpers (Fox), and rompers (Riddle). These outfits can include modifications and additional parts (Skull's vest and Moko's cape) but ultimately the main outfit is one article of clothing.

Next up is long pants. The second most popular category, it is pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. All these characters where a typical ensemble of long pants and a shirt, with a variety of different styles and accessories to keep things from becoming boring.

After long pants are shorts. Notably, there are only women in this category, while the previous categories had a mix. These shorts can be worn with or without leggings, with Sophia's outfit getting the closest to something that could be considered a dress, due to how short her shorts are and the fit of her shirt. If the character is not wearing leggings or tights, they seem to instead be put in long socks.

Now we enter into the smaller categories. Only two characters are in the poofy pants category, but I thought it was worth pointing out. Not too much to say here. Both poofy pants characters have their entire body covered, with boots or leggings going right up to the end of the pants.

Finally, we're in the singular character categories. Bui gets the closest to a skirt or dress, even closer than Sophia. However, because of the way her outfit is designed, it appears as if she's wearing a long shirt with leggings, rather than a really short dress. Worth noting, though, due to the fact that it is one of the few outfits that could be argued to be a dress.

Finally, Wonder gets his own slot, because I genuinely can't tell what he's wearing. Is that a bodysuit with leggings? Shorts with leggings? Where does his cape end and his under outfit begin? Who knows. So he gets his own category.

Content Warning: MAJOR spoilers for Persona 5 Royal. Ann Takamaki:

-If you manage to get with Ann of all people, fuckin' major props to you. You got yourself a literal model, nevermind the trauma/nervousness she probably has when it comes to relationships thanks to Kamoshida.

-Hope you're not one who sunburns easily, because you got yourself a ray of sunshine. Delete that joke, that was stupid.

-Ann has officially decided to make it her life's mission to make every day she can brighter for you and it will be your problem.

-Favorite dates of hers include going to Odaiba, mostly for the ferris wheel, going to the underground mall, whether for actual shopping or window shopping, and of course hitting up whatever sweets store you two can find. She'll usually pay due to her modelling giving her more money than the average high school student, and she insists because of this.

-Ann is all for physical affection, she is all over you every chance she gets. Cuddles, kisses, spooning, you name it. You MIGHT get some PDA out of her but not a lot, unless she just gets one of those sudden bursts of confidence out of seemingly nowhere.

-At home dates work for her too. She's totally on board with snuggling up on the couch absolutely drowning in blankets to watch a movie. Bonus points if the two of you fall asleep together just like that.

-As for the more...explicit parts of a relationship, the kind that hormonal teenagers get the most excited over...yeah Kamoshida did some serious damage on that front. If you wanna do that with her, it's going to take a while before she builds up the confidence to wanna explore that. You'll have to bring it up in conversation first, though.

-It is not an uncommon occurrence for you to find some sort of sweet treat on your desk as you go into school in the morning. Nothing big, just a little something Ann found while out in town that made her think of you.

Makoto Niijima

-Ahh, the student council president. Calm, composed, put together, and has zero idea what in God's green Earth she's doing when it comes to an S/O.

-If she was being completely honest she barely has any idea how she managed to even get an S/O in the first place, but she certainly won't be caught complaining. It's nice to know she has someone she knows she can count on for a change. At least anyone that's not just her sister.

-Makoto is the type to show affection in subtler ways, namely through worrying about you. Your grades, your health, your diet, she makes sure you're on top of it. It could come off as overbearing at times, but she does it to show she cares about you.

-She's much more of the shy type when it comes to more direct displays of affection. The subtle brushing of her hand against yours before it eventually rests on or holds it, her head on your shoulder as you two are sitting together. It'll take a bit before she becomes more confident to show how she really feels, but however she does it, watching the normally cold, professional student council president unwind like that is always quite cute.

-Take her to see an action movie, particularly a Yazuka movie, and she's super engrossed in it, no matter how much she blushes and stutters as she tries to initially deny it. If you're a fan of those movies too, that's even better for her.

-Study dates are a regular occurrence. If your grades aren't looking the best, Makoto is about to come in clutch and save you, whether you like it or not. She won't really be mad though, as long as you show you're at least trying your best.

-Outside of that though, she much prefers dates at your place or hers. Watching a movie, making dinner together, and just in general talking about whatever comes to mind. It's a very cozy, homely atmosphere.

Futaba Sakura

-The social shut-in neet. The only shot you're having at a relationship with Futaba is if you're a Phantom Thief. Otherwise you will have no idea she exists.

-You thought Makoto was nervous going into a relationship? Yeah you haven't seen shit yet.

-Your first order of business in this relationship would pretty obviously be getting Sojiro's approval. Being a Phantom Thief and helping her get out of her room is a nice start, at the very least. Once you've proved yourself to him though, you've secured yourself the ultimate wingman.

-It's going to take quite a bit of convincing to take Futaba out somewhere. Your best bet would be Akihabara too look at all the tech stuff, video game/anime merch, and other general nerd things. All the while she's attached to you at the hip of course. If you leave her sight for even a second she'll never forgive you. At least that's what she says, anyway.

-Most dates are obviously going to be indoors, whether in her room or at Leblanc. Watching anime, playing video games, just about what you'd expect. All the while she'll nerd out about lore/story and teach you anything you're confused on or show some super cool tech in whatever video game you're playing, after thoroughly trouncing you, of course. Will probably make jokes about being your sensei and stuff like that.

-A fun little trick to do is to peck her cheek when you're playing something together to catch her off guard. She'll go red as a beet as her brain completely stops working, after which she'll accuse you of cheating. She'll try to eventually show affection herself in similar ways though she'll get super shy about it and act like it didn't happen. It's pretty freaking cute.

-Also she will 100 percent borrow your clothes without your permission, no matter how oversized they are. She has commandeered your entire wardrobe.

Haru Okumura

-What. A. Sweetie.

-If you're aiming for a relationship with this heiress, you're gonna have to play the long game for a bit. When you were about to be married to Sugimura you'd probably need a break from anything romance related for a while as well. Once Haru does feel ready enough to give relationships a try again with someone she actually cares about it's really something.

-Haru is the soft kind of girlfriend, both figuratively and literally. She treats you with nothing but patience and kindness, and trusts you more than anyone else. She does anything she can for you and will push aside anything and everything if you're ever in need.

-Cuddles with her are soft, fluffy, and warm. It's almost like a sheep, you could stay like that with her for hours.

-Her favorite type of date is naturally anything involving gardening. If you're inexperienced with this sort of thing, Haru is more than happy to teach you everything you need to know. Ask her to do so and the smile on her face could replace the sun.

-The easiest way for her to show affection is through gifts. She's the heiress of one of the largest companies in the world, she has more than enough to spend on you and then some. If you say anything about something cool you want when in her general vicinity you'll be getting that same thing not even a week later. To be frank, you'll probably need to be careful when talking about that sort of stuff, she will have zero inhibitions when it comes to gift giving.

-And don't even get me started when things like Valentine's Day, Christmas, and god forbid your birthday roll around lmfao.

-Whether it's at home baking sweets, spending time a cozy cafe out in Shinjuku, or at a restaurant so fancy that you feel underdressed no matter what you wear, Haru is down for all of it. The only detail that matters to her on a date, and her life in general is that you're there.

-And for the love of God do not let this woman drive, you are gambling with your fucking life.

Sumire Yoshizawa

-A relationship with Sumire would probably start out...awkward. Especially if you knew her while she was posing as Kasumi.

-A lot of guilt and low self-esteem will make the relationship a work in progress to begin with. An S/O of hers will need to be there for her and assure her that she is enough. They're in love with Sumire, not the image and identity of Kasumi she placed upon herself.

-It won't be forever, though. She'll eventually bounce back, knowing that she needs to be there for you like you are for her.

-Sumire is loyal above all else. You showed your loyalty when your stuck by her through such a strange, confusing and difficult time in her life, and she's damn well gonna make sure she returns the favor.

-It'll take a while for her to warm up to it, but she is all in for physical and verbal affection. Anything to show just how much she loves you. Just not in public...

-Sumire would definitely work best with an S/O that praises her for everything she does. It gives her a warm, fuzzy feeling inside and makes her feel satisfied.

-She'd definitely be the type to want to push you to be your best self, physically and mentally. She knows what the latter is like more than anything else and doesn't want you to fall into the same trap. Physically active dates are her forte. A jog around the park in the morning followed by a good breakfast at a restaurant somewhere and she's in Heaven.

-Speaking of which, you better have a good amount of money on hand whenever you go out on a date, lest you run the risk of her draining it dry on food. She'll at least have the decency to know when it's better to stop most of the time but when she gets going, she really gets going, especially if you have a hearty appetite yourself.

-You're naturally sure to catch her gymnastics competitions, whether online or in person. It serves as a motivator for Sumire. Knowing you're watching from somewhere really gives her that extra drive to do her best. You're the reason she's gotten this far, she won't let you down as long as she has something to say about it. Not just in her dreams to be a world class gymnast, but in her entire life.

Phantom Thieves play a farming/life simulator game with S/O

Note: purely self-indulgent... my friends and i booted up stardew valley again so have this . .. i mainly have stardew in mind while writing, so the mechanics will be reflecting that ehe no sumi yet! i have no idea how to write her yet </3 but i am currently playing through p5r so i might add her later!

Akiren

Ahh... he enjoys this game very much. Being somewhere peaceful and quiet AND alone with you? Perhaps a dream come true! As soon as the game is loaded, he starts planting the first few seeds he receives, and then proceeds to forage for things he could sell. When he finds a few flowers, he will give them to you and will pout if you don't accept them.

"You need to meet the people in town!" you tell him as he tries to give you the flower again.

"Why? I already have you. I do not need anyone else."

Definitely the type to do most things with you. You are planting crops? He will water them. You are petting the chickens? He will feed them. You are fishing on the beach? He is right beside you, doing the same. You are going to the mines? He defends you from the mobs while you mine away. He genuinely enjoys being with you all the time (even if in this case, its in a video game).

Enjoys playing househusband as well, should you advance that far in the game, and will be the type to seriously think about the names of your children (in the game). Once the house is upgraded, and there is a kitchen, he now has another purpose. The type to collect recipes and cook, going around town giving dishes to the townspeople. The type to send you off with your 'lunch' and a "Take care! The kids and I will be waiting for you."

Ryuji

Probably giddy the first time you suggest playing the game. He will gladly agree, of course! The only thing though, he does not find the farm work to be entertaining, so you will have to do that. He does not mind taking care of the livestock though! As soon as the game starts, he'd probably hand you the seeds and go foraging instead. Probably the kind to always make sure to have something to sell at the end of the day.

He enjoys going to the mines, and so he is mainly in-charge of the upgrades. Will tend to give you a few pretty stones and/or artifacts he finds. Also the kind to 'unlock' things, such as new areas or new mechanics. He would probably go for achievements, but he's not really a completionist. More so does certain things for its benefits.

"Ryuji, I need a few earth crystals for the mayonnaise makers," you tell him as you were rearranging a few things in your farm.

"Alright babe! I also got you a diamond, by the way!"

He also tries to make your life easier while playing the game, such as letting you upgrade your backpack first, exchanges tools with you when he upgrades so that you have the better quality, and puts torches every where so you do not get lost. Will probably be blushing the whole time while you guys get married, and when you decide to have kids (in-game).

Ann

The game is so cute! Yes, she will gladly play with you! When you first boot up the game, she is a little bit overwhelmed because there are so many things to do, but she will most likely look at the journal/tasks as a guide for things to do. She does not mind doing a little bit of everything, but she mainly enjoys taking care of the livestock. She also likes designing the layout for both the farmland and the inside of the house.

"Oh my gosh! Can I buy the chickens for our coop? Our first children!" Ann gushes, having just finished up the fencing for the said coop.

"Sure, just do not forget to buy food for them as well!"

Once you guys have reached the stage where you are living comfortably, she will try to befriend everyone! Extra resources she have will be given to the townspeople, curious for the lore and a few character backstories. As for the romanceables, she asks for your permission to befriend them beforehand. It's honestly adorable.

When you guys get married, she will dress up accordingly. She is giggling the whole time, and will whisper an 'I love you' to you at the end. When you decide to have kids, she's a bit disappointed that they do not grow up. She finds it fun to put different hats on them, though!

Yusuke

He is a bit clueless at first, and will need you to guide him through most of the things. Once he gets the hang of it though, he will enjoy it. He really likes the background music and the art of the game so those are plus points for him. He tends to forget the farm chores though, as he will usually go to town to interact with different characters and see their stories.

If you let him be in-charge of the farm layout, it will be a beautiful farm guaranteed; even with just the use of flowers, crops, and some tall grasses. He asks that you do not touch it though, so you have two farms. One for profit, and one for whatever Yusuke decides it to be. He rarely goes to the mine, and almost never goes unless you invite him so you are in-charge of upgrading your tools. You, however, task him with buying things needed for the farm such as hay, seeds, etc. He accidentally bought 99 pieces of the wrong thing once though, and he apologized profusely afterwards.

"You bought 99 heaters?!"

"It was beside the hay, my love, I realized too late." Yusuke genuinely sounded apologetic, and you assured him that it was fine.

When you get married, he will give you a bunch of flowers he grew on the farm. He also tends to have a surprise for you every once in a while, like maybe an item he got while exploring, or rearranging your furniture. If you decide to have children, he diligently checks on them and does not want to leave them alone on the farm. You try to tell him it does not make a difference, but he refuses to leave them all by themselves.

Makoto

Another one who is a bit clueless. After watching a bit from you, she starts to learn though. You divide up the chores between yourselves, so that you get equal experiences. Also the one to fulfill all the side quests, even in-game she likes helping people. She finds the game as a good stress relief, given as it has a calming background music and cute art. Also enjoys exploring every new thing together.

"Makoto, will you be my partner for the festival?"

"Y-you don't need to ask. My answer is always yes."

She also likes the combat system, and will visit the mines sometimes. A casual player, she allows you to play even without her. Given that she is a very busy person, she's fine even with just updates on what is going on in the farm currently. Despite this, she somehow remembers which crops/products are the most profitable and encourages you to sell those instead.

If you decide to get married in-game, she is red in the face while the sequence is happening. She might also come back more frequently now, can't let her spouse do all the work on the farm by themselves now, eh?

Futaba

She is probably the one to initiate asking. She has played the game before, and wants to try playing with you as well. Will also probably play the game with a few mods, just to spice it up a little bit. As soon as the game loads, she plants the given seeds and goes to town to greet the people. An absolute completionist for achievements. Might play the game even if you are not online. The kind of player to advance ahead, just so she can help you later on. Despite this, she asks for your input in most things as she really likes including you in the decision-making.

"Should I put the coop near our crops so it's easier for you to navigate?" Futaba asks while she layouts the farm.

"Yes please!"

She keeps a mental list of the things she needs to do, and knows exactly what exact conditions are needed to unlock a certain thing, or the requirements to a certain event. So if you ever find yourself stuck, feel free to ask her! She also does a little bit of everything, therefore her stats are really balanced.

Married or not, she gives you an item every day. She says its a 'power-up', so you will have an easier time doing your tasks. Also, your cat's name is Morgana. She says you guys are one big family over here.

Haru

Yes! It did not take much convincing, honestly. She does not mind being completely in-charge of the crops. She tends to do a few tasks from-time-to-time, though. Especially tasks related to crops, such as bringing a cabbage to a certain person in town. She very much likes the combat system, sure it's a little simple, but she loves it. Sometimes goes to the mines just for it. Not to get an ore, but just to battle.

She gives you flowers, sometimes from foraging, and some she grew on the farm. She studies which crops are the best to grow to ensure profit and also which ones you can eat for HP and fatigue, both for when you or she goes to the mines. She might drop a few fun facts about some of the plants, too.

She is a very casual player, playing for the vibes and also as a bonding quality time with you. Thus, she likes when you ask her to do stuff with you, such as visiting another island together, or going to the mines together. When you get married, she finds it cute that the whole town attended. And to be honest... this game is giving her ideas.

"What if we start a farm that could supply our café?" Haru asks you one night.

"H-Haru! Let us focus on graduating first... "

Goro

A little hesitant to play, but he ends up playing nonetheless. He is a little bit unsure on what to do, so he ends up mimicking whatever it is you do. While he ends up enjoying the game, he will only play when you are online. If he has prior commitments, he lets you play but does not want you to play special events without him.

"Goro~ the festival tomorrow requires me having a partner. Can I ask one of the townspeople instead?"

"No. Do not even think about it. Wait for me," he leaves no room for discussion.

He also likes dividing the chores between you two, so you both get equal benefits. He likes exploring with you, but when he is not with you he is mining purely for the combat. If you ever need monster drops, he probably has a lot in his inventory. Will also redecorate your house a bit, and admittedly he likes the idea of living with you a little too much. Even if it is in-game. He is most definitely not remembering how you designed the house for later references.

He also really enjoyed watching the wedding sequence with you. Maybe one day, you can run away with him and live a peaceful life tending a farm instead? Would you say yes? Maybe it is not too late to start anew somewhere.

This girl WILL know your clothing size but by a simple glance and go "you want me to dress you?" You don't have to answer that question you WILL be bought clothes along with other things you like

She likes leaning into you, smirking a bit and whispering in your ear "we should kiss" "!" your face is as you turn around and look at her of course you give in using a book to cover the views of other students,Ryuji, or you'll just look at her shocked. Either way she still ends up satisfied one way or another

She likes when you come to shoots with her. Happy when she's posing and she just sees you throw a little thumbs up, it's always lifts her spirits.

"Yes my darling?" "." Ryuji looks at her "Why yes my dear" "oh my god" he burries his face into his arms leaning into the desk as you two continue to call eatchother affectionate names.

She probably has your dox from the school ids has been down bad since. It's way more obvious when you two start dating. "You're so soft just like what the Id shows" "excuse me?" "Oh- nothing"

study dates early on are her go tos, as soon as you two get more used to each other she's often on doing simple domestic things with you.

Will sneak around you when you're in shibuya you're not escaping. So when you turn around and see her thinking it's a coincidence it's suddenly a date. She would come home nearly collapsing but it's worth it

Tries not to ask much of you except when it comes to school one homework she KNOWS you didn't do it's over. "Did you do your science packet" "yea why?" "Good what's the answer to 2" "two uhhhh...d?" She wants hugs forever stay with her!! You should sleep over!! You should stay on a call for her for an entire day. Yea she loves these little brain thoughts while you're terrified of them.

Forces you to match pfps on ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. No matching pfps? You Hate her simple. "I wanna use this theme I found" "do it with me!! 👹👹👹👹" "chill with the emojis!"

Joker and Sojiro WILL run a check on you as soon as Futaba isn't there. You date her you must answer these dubious 5!! As much as the intense looks were exchanged turned to "wadya think" looks back and fourth little to say that approved

She's sending you everywhere with her! You're having dates every week and will almost straight up refuse to let her pay

Very affectionate and often likes showing pda, if you aren't much of a fan it's alright she'll be minimal with it or just stop all together. She does like laying her head on your shoulder while your walking together

Interested in watching shows you like and talking about them she's gonna come up to you and be like "you haven't watched this scene yet?" She doesn't spoil it but it's incredibly tempting to just to get your reaction.

She dosent insist but she loves hand holding in public. She tries not to squeeze too hard but your hands are so warm! When you initiate the hand holding it just makes it so much better.

Refuses to let you sleep in another room. If you so dare to say "you have the bed ill sleep on the couch" expect the very momment you drift to sleep to be lifted off the couch and with her to the bed. If you ever so dare to wake up and try to leave the girls gripping you tight "where are you going?" Her voice is so soft almost distracts from the fact you might need a doctor after this squeeze. "Stay here I don't wanna be left alone with all the plushies" she rubs her face into your back, seeing no other option you slept there.

She daydreams of you SOOOO much. It's crazy she thinks of you so much she finds It hard to focus. She'd think it's embrassing she thinks of you so much but then she'd imagine you brushing her hair to the side and going "you look wonderful today Sumire" girls brain just BOOM

If you'd ever dare to say you haven't eaten, she'll open her bento and offer a bit of it to you. "I don't see why you can't have some?" "Sumire...I don't like sausages" "don't worry there's rice" "you really don't have to"

She wants to try and play a sport with you. Don't wanna run? Table top tennis! Or maybe darts! She will need encouragement, but is super good

She likes asking out on just outings in shibuya to just "I'm watching my senpai's right now wanna see if they'll put their rivalry aside and be normal?" You go with her no matter the reason the only time this back fired was when akechi recognized you and tried to get you to settle if vegans eat animal crackers

She won't tell you when she has an issue that much. Unfortunately for her, you notice quickly hugging her or patting her head. She won't tell you, but she loves when you do this. It's comforting knowing she doesn't have to say a word and you'd be there

I see her being pretty affectionate, unless you don’t like that.

With her, most dates would be going to dessert places!

Probably some shopping dates too

She absolutely loves spending time with her S/O, I think she’d appreciate other dates/outings such as just walking around like one of those giant gardens or going sightseeing

When you hold hands, she loves interlocking fingers.

When it’s just her and her S/O, she doesn’t mind it quiet. She’ll maybe break the silence to ask something, but it’s always nice.

Loves leaning on your shoulder and cuddling!!!

Genuine conversations together, it’s as if she can tell you anything.

Makoto

She’s not too big on PDA, she’d rather keep that inside when it’s just the two of you.

She’ll hold you hand sometimes though, but that’s probably as far as she’ll go

She’s willing to go for about any type of date, honestly

Very inexperienced when it comes to romance, so if anything, you may need to be the one initiating.

Which, is probably why she’s up for trying anything when it comes to the relationship

Would always remind her S/O to study

Actually, normally reminds them of a lot of things and dates, so that’s nice

I don’t see Sae particularly minding Makoto having a S/O too much, would probably tease her (and maybe them) though. But if she hears anything bad? She’ll probably be all over them.

Futaba

She's definitely all over you.

Also probably is always or at least often holding your hand while you two are out

Dates with her are either the two of you playing multiplayer games together or just hanging out in her room or someplace geeky/nerdy (if she can work up the courage to go out)

If you’re dating Futaba, then you definitely have to have very similar or the same interests!!

Would love talking about latest updates for a game or a recent episode of a show she’s super interested in, and if you were also interested in the same things she’d definitely make you play with her or watch her play or watch the show together!!!

Probably teases you for being bad at a game, but it’s okay

If she’s mad at her S/O she just starts sending little text faces (similar to her first conversation with Yusuke after she joins the Phantom Thieves) >:[, >:0, >:|

She’d love to go during the spring, maybe early spring if there’s cherry blossoms!

She’s definitely going off about the different types of plants she’ll see

I bet she’d like aquarium or museum dates too!

Something in me sort of screams that she’s a big gift giver for you, especially since she's rich??? Like hello? For the Phantom Thieves celebration after she joined she straight booked a whole THEME PARK for just them.

(Persona 5) Ann, Makoto, and Haru reaction to S/O's Palace/Shadow/Treasure

Quoth the Akihiko: "I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS"

Playing Royal on my Switch has made me in a very Persona mood so happy to oblige!

I know a lot of writers in the P5 community has done this topic, but hopefully this will still be a good read for you guys!

Post Edit A/N: Wow, Ann got an all star-treatment unintentionally. Well this is awkward since her part is the size of a freakin' essay versus Makoto and Haru. I hope Ann fans will be happy lmao

Ann didn't know what to say when she discovered S/O had a Palace. Her mind was going through so many emotions as she stared at the Metanav app. S/O had been distant sure, but she never would have suspected their troubles ran this deep.

She first investigates the Palace by herself, only staying near the entrance. After looking around as much as she could from the exterior, Ann went to find Akira.

After the group unanimously agrees to infiltrate and help Ann, she remains completely serious, her light-hearted quips and positivity being completely absent during the heist.

While she is grateful for their help, in all honesty she wishes she could have infiltrated alone. This was far too personal to involve the entire group.

Regardless, nothing could be done about it now. She would just have to grit her teeth and bare it. At least that's what Ann told herself.

Palace Infiltration

Akira led Ann, Ryuji, and Morgana down the hallways of the Palace.

Peeking around the corner, he only saw one shadow.

(Akira) "Oracle, is there anyone else in the vicinity?"

(Futaba's Voice) "Hm...No, the room's empty, barring the one there."

(Ryuji) "Ready on your word, Joker."

(Morgana) "Panther, you good?"

(Ann) "...Yeah."

Akira nodded and the four crept closer to the room, realizing the hallway was slowly turning something akin to a bedroom.

What stuck out the most was that it looked normal, just a regular bedroom.

And now they got closer, the shadow they saw wasn't a shadow at all.

It was Ann. Or what appeared to be a S/O's cognitive Ann.

(Akira) "Oracle, you're positive no one is nearby?"

(Futaba) "Affirmative, Joker."

Ryuji and Morgana turned to Ann, who was still shocked to see herself.

In hindsight, maybe she shouldn't have been.

(Akira) "Panther, I'll leave this decision to you. What do you want to do?"

(Ann) "I...I want to talk to her, see what she knows."

Everyone nodded and let Ann go first.

The three of them stood back, ready to jump into the fray in case talks go south.

The Congitive Ann's eyes widened when they saw the group approach, jumping back in surpise.

(Cognitive Ann) "OH MY GOD, who are you guys?!"

(Ann) "W-We're not here to hurt you, please calm down!"

The first thing Ann noticed was just how normal she looked. There wasn't any exaggerated clothing, it was just her in her casual clothes.

The second thing was how she spoke. It sounded...pretty much just how she was in real life too.

(Cognitive Ann) "Those masks...Wait, are you guys the Phantom Thieves?!"

Ann looked back to Akira who was nodding in response.

(Ann) "...Yeah, we are."

(Cognitive Ann) "Ohmigosh, I am SUCH a big fan! You guys helped me and so many others when you brought Kamoshida to justice!"

It seemed like S/O wasn't aware that Ann was actually part of the Phantom Thieves.

It was unsettling to the group how normal the Cognitive Ann was acting. What was the catch?

(Ann) "We're glad to have helped."

(Cognitive Ann) "That being said, what are you guys doing here? Don't the Phantom Thieves just fight bad guys?"

(Ann) "We're not here to fight. Just ask a couple questions about S/O is all."

(Cognitive Ann) "S/O? What do they have to do with this? H-Have they done something wrong?!"

(Ann) "No! Of course not!"

Her voice started to shake a little, making Ryuji step in.

(Ryuji) "Sorry, what my friend here is wanting to say is we want to help them. You mind if we ask you some stuff?"

(Cognitive Ann) "If it'll help, sure thing."

Ryuji put a comforting hand on Ann's shoulder.

She gently brushed it off, but nodded in affirmation.

(Ann) "Thanks, Skull...So, what is this place?"

(Cognitive Ann) "Uh, I think it's some kind of cell."

(Ann) "Cell?"

(Cognitive Ann) "Yeah, it keeps me from interacting with S/O. Something about 'not wanting to get me involved' or...something."

This wasn't making any sense. Usually cognitions of other people were hostile as soon as they saw the Phantom Thieves. This cognition of herself was startlingly accurate.

Which made the next thing she said hurt all the more.

(Cognitive Ann) "Oh, I remember what they said to me now. They wanted me to stay happy and said I didn't deserve to be dragged down into their troubles."

(Morgana) "That's why this version of Ann is so normal. It's like she's a haven they wanted to keep safe."

(Ann) "..."

S/O had come with Ann to help Shiho. encourage her during her Model shoots, and listened intently as Ann complained about whatever.

They had always been there for Ann. Never once have they brought up their own troubles.

(Ann) "Why would S/O do that...?"

(Cognitive Ann) "It's stupid, right?"

(Everyone) ?!

(Cognitive Ann) "I told S/O so many times that they can come to me if they ever needed help. Instead, they go and try to keep me out of it. I swear, if I get out of here, I'm gonna give them a nice long talk!"

Ann couldn't help but chuckle.

That's exactly what she would have said under normal circumstances.

(Ann) "I know you will. And, one last thing. What do you think of S/O?"

(Cognitive Ann) "I think S/O is an idiot for letting this happen, bottling all their troubles up."

Ryuji, Akira, and Morgana were taken aback.

Ann was less so, as she couldn't help but agree.

(Ann) "Yeah, that sounds about right."

(Cognitive Ann) "But...They know I love them. I guess they were afraid I wouldn't if they told me."

It amazed Ann as much as it hurt how they kept her intact and didn't see her through rose tinted glasses.

If they could see her like this, why didn't they do the same for themselves?

(Ann) "We'll get S/O to you. You have our word."

After speaking to her cognitive self, she's filled with more determination than ever.

Shadow Fight

The Phantom Thieves after searching throughout the Palace and sending the calling card realized what the Treasure was this entire time.

It was the Cognitive Ann.

Taking her away from the group and ready to fight, Ann steps forward to try and reason with her S/O.

(Ann) "S/O! Please, we don't have to fight!"

(Shadow S/O) "You will NOT take her and drag her down to my level! I don't deserve it-"

(Ann) "Bullshit, you know Ann would say otherwise! We're not letting you go down on this self wallowing pity party anymore!"

(S/O) "The Phantom Thieves should be focusing on someone else, not me! Why the hell do you care?!"

Ann reached for her mask and pulled it off, Carmen being summoned right behind her.

(Ann) "BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU, YOU IDIOT!"

(Futaba) "Energy levels rising, get ready for a fight!"

(Akira) "Panther!"

(Ann) "Right...Let's do this!"

At first, she doubted herself if she could fight her S/O's shadow.

But now, any doubts she had rocketed away.

If she had to beat the sense back into them, then so be it.

...

Treasure

S/O's shadow turned back to normal as they knelt on the ground, defeated.

Ann stepped forward, her mask still off as the other Phantom Thieves stood back to let her handle this.

The Cognitive Ann stood with the real Ann, letting her do the talking.

(Ann) "S/O...You should have just told me..."

(S/O) "I see that now...I'm so sorry, Ann."

She shook her head as she hugged them.

(Ann) "Don't apologize. Just...promise me you'll talk when you're ready."

(S/O) "I promise."

They slowly disappeared into blue light, with the Cognitive Ann glowing.

(Cognitive Ann) "So, the real treasure was me all along? Psh, talk about cheesey!"

Both Ann's had tears in their eyes, the real one wiping it off.

(Ann) "I know right? But...I'm glad we were able to help S/O out in the end."

(Cognitive Ann) "Yeah...Hah, to imagine that I was a Phantom Thief. We make the outfit rock, by the way."

As she began to disappear, the Cognitive Ann put her hand into the real Ann's palm.

(Cognitive Ann) "Make sure to show S/O this, okay? And thank you guys too."

She waved goodbye to the Phantom Thieves as she slowly faded away into a bright object into Ann's hands.

Ann smiled as she put the object in her pocket.

...It felt like she was forgetting something.

KABOOM!

...Oh god that's right, the Palace Collapse.

(Akira) "Time to go, MONA!"

Mona quickly transformed into the bus as everyone jumped in.

When they all escaped back into the real world, everyone took a deep breath.

Ann reached into her pocket and everyone looked to see what the treasure was.

It was a picture of her and S/O, smiling and eating some dessert stand in Shibuya.

You couldn't even tell S/O was hiding anything in the picture. The two of them together looked so happy.

Ann has the original photo in her phone, but seeing it take a physical form felt...different somehow.

(Ann) "Thank you guys so much for helping me."

As she wiped away the tears, everyone else smiled too.

(Akira) "Of course. We're here for you."

(Ryuji) "Make sure you go easy on S/O, alright?"

(Ann) "Right."

After seeing everyone off, Ann took a deep breath as she pulled up her IM's.

Ann: Hey, busy?

S/O: No, what's up?

Ann: Mind if we meet up somewhere? I want to talk.

S/O: Sure. I actually wanted to talk to you about something too.

Ann: Cool! Let's meet at the Park.

Taking another look at the photo, she couldn't help but smile.

This was their treasure?

No, if she learned anything from their Palace, Ann was their treasure.

Makoto was saddened, but not surprised by her S/O having a Palace.

If Sae could have one, and someone like Futaba used to have one, who's to say her S/O couldn't?

She sits on the information for a day or two, not sure what to do. Should she go by herself, or should she ask the others?

After all this wasn't an evil CEO or abusive celebrity. It was her S/O.

Makoto couldn't help but feel somewhat responsible for a palace forming. Was she too harsh on them, or was she not there for them enough?

She calms herself down, there's only one way to find out.

Makoto: Is everyone free at the moment?

Akira: Here.

Futaba: yo >:3

Ryuji: Wassup?

Ann: Something wrong?

Haru: I am.

Yusuke: I happen to be free, yes.

Shadow Fight

The Phantom Thieves found the treasure and secured their escape route.

What the treasure actually was however, no one could tell. It was locked inside a small vault.

But, S/O intercepted them, predictably.

(Shadow S/O) "You thieves think you can just steal from me?! Whatever happened to punishing people who deserved it?!"

Makoto steps forth as her fists clench, ripping off her mask.

(Makoto) "This isn't a punishment, this is an intervention S/O!"

(Shadow S/O) "Makoto?!"

(Makoto) "If you refuse to see yourself the way I see you, then I'll just have to show you!"

Johanna appears underneath her as she revs the engines, the other Phantom Thieves joining in the fight.

She doesn't hesitate to fight her S/O's shadow.

She was going to make them listen, no matter what.

Treasure

When the fight was over, Makoto left her mask off as she knelt down with S/O, taking their hand into hers.

(S/O) "...I never thought I was good enough to be with you."

Makoto didn't say anything, only squeezing their hand tighter.

(S/O) "I'm not smart enough, I don't have anything special about me compared to everyone else you could have been with I'm...I'm not important enough to be part of your life, with everything you have to keep in mind."

(Makoto) "You're wrong. You've always been important to me. Now, and always."

She gave them a tight hug as they smiled, slowly fading into a blue light.

The vault Akira was carrying began to fade away as well, letting a small round object fall into his hands.

Knowing the moment wouldn't last, she turned around and turned to Mona.

(Makoto) "Get us out of here, the Palace is going to come down any second!"

Leaving before things got out of hand, everyone got out with their breaths and heart rate still normal, surprisingly.

(Makoto) "Akira, may I see what the Treasure is?"

Akira nodded and gave it back to her, everyone politely giving her some space.

(Makoto) "T-This is...!"

It was a small Buchimaru keychain Makoto had given to them.

Makoto gave it to them as a birthday gift, wanting it to be something from the heart.

So she gave them something that she held onto as a kid for so long, as a way to remember her.

She had a bittersweet smile as she held tightly onto the keychain.

(Makoto) "I cannot begin to thank you all enough for today."

(Ann) "Come on, senpai. It's the least we can do!"

(Haru) "Yeah, if you need us again, please let us know anytime!"

(Makoto) "That won't be necessary, at least for now. I'll handle things from here."

Getting her phone out, she texted S/O without hesitation.

Makoto: I know this is sudden, but I would like to visit you, if that is alright.

S/O: Oh, sure. But is everything okay?

Makoto: It is. Don't worry, you're not in trouble. I just wanted to tell you something I've been meaning to for a while.

She puts the keychain in her pocket as she makes her way to the train station.

Haru's hands tremble when the Metanav pings back a result when she types in her S/O's name.

Every instinct in her roars at her to go find her S/O right now and hold them tightly.

But she knows that won't help.

She knows the method that will, but Haru is afraid.

After what happened with her father, she couldn't go through the loss of a third person she loved again.

Haru brings it up to Akira when she calms down. The Phantom Thieves gather almost instantly and are ready to help her on the same day.

They're even more determined to help than before. It may not have been their fault Okumura died, but they refuse to let Haru suffer anymore than she already has.

Haru adjusts her hat and mask as she walks with the vanguard into S/O's palace.

She's going to get to the bottom of this, no matter what.

Throughout the Palace, she is fighting with such ferocity that many shadows are stunned with fear.

Even her teammates take a step back every now and then.

Shadow Fight

Stealing the treasure was no easy task.

It was a massive tube containing some sort of plant, though it was alive and actively snapping at them.

When S/O's shadow, got in the way, Haru did not hesitate to step forward and remove her mask before S/O could say something and a fight would break out.

She gently held her hat as she stood in front of the group.

(Yusuke) "Noir!"

(Haru) "Please...Let me handle this."

(Shadow S/O) "H-...Haru?"

(Haru) "I can't imagine the pain you must be going through right now. How...alone you feel."

(Shadow S/O) "Why...why are you here?!"

Haru didn't raise her voice, instead calmly speaking.

(Haru) "Because I want to tell you, you're not alone! We're here for you...I'm here for you! So please, tell me why! Why didn't you come to me?"

The tears in her eyes made S/O stand down, much to everyone's shock.

(Shadow S/O) "You told me yourself, so many people want to use you just for your money. None of them care for you like the way I do! That's why... I can't go to you, Haru."

They looked down in shame, everyone sensing their will to fight going away, Haru stepping closer.

(Shadow S/O) "You've already gone through so much these past few months. Your father, the company, everything...I shouldn't be adding even more on top of your worries. You deserve so much better than that."

(Haru) "..."

Everyone was anxious seeing Haru getting so close to S/O's shadow, but she simply held out her hand with nothing to fear.

(Haru) "May I hold your hand, just for a moment?"

S/O's shadow stared at her for a moment before obliging, letting her hold them.

She kissed the tips of their fingers before looking back at them.

(Haru) "Thank you for thinking of me. It makes me so happy to know that you care."

Slowly embracing them, S/O's shadow was taken slightly aback.

(Haru) "I know you'd never do anything to hurt me on purpose. But, that's why I'm hurting right now. You can't sacrifice your own well being just for me. You deserve to be happy, too."

She stepped back and put her hat back on.

(Haru) "I want you to rely on me, just as much as I rely on you."

Treasure

S/O's Shadow looked down, away from Haru for a moment before nodding.

(Shadow S/O) "...Okay. I don't know if I can make it work, but-"

(Haru) "I know it will."

As they slowly faded away, they turned to the rest of the Phantom Thieves.

(Shadow S/O) "Please take care of her too, okay?"

They disappeared, and Haru took a deep breath.

(Haru) "Let's go."

Everyone left the Palace as it collapsed, making it out to the real world.

(Haru) "Thank you all so much for-"

(Ryuji) "OWOWOWOW! SHIT THAT HURT!"

(Morgana) "Ryuji, really?-HOLY CRAP!"

Ryuji held in his hands a small potted cactus. That somehow fit in his pockets.

Haru gasped when she saw that was the treasure.

In the rooftop garden at Shujin, she grew a small cactus for S/O to keep.

She remembered telling them that it was a little gift, something they grew together to represent their relationship.

She wanted to give them a particular flower that symbolized love better, the cactus was something very easy for them to take care of.

Haru managed to hold back her tears as she took the cactus into her hands.

After ensuring there was no injury, Haru brought up her phone as she held the potted cactus in the other hand.

Haru: If you are free, can you come to my place? I wish to give you something.

S/O: Sure, I'll be over in an hour. Is it alright for me to come, aren't you busy?
