I just love Mal and Peeta so much cause they are both just that guy. They are both just completely in love and would do anything for their girls.

Mal of course is not the smartest and he was sometimes a bit of an asshole but he made up for it. He decided to just pledge his life to she even if she couldn’t do the same. Like he wanted a wedding vow but when he realized he wasn’t going to get that he chose to stay by her side and be her tracker/soldier. And I just love that. “I am become a blade” like it’s so sad but so satisfying. And then he got her in the end. And the best part about it is that she chose him too. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN QUEEN! It wasn’t just like I have too it was I don’t want to be a saint I just want a normal life with him!

Peeta was just chefs kiss. He had a crush on Katniss and of course was smart enough to use it to both of they advantages. I think he really was using it as and advantage when he was with the careers. And then when she found him and nursed him back to health it stopped being a strategy and he just fell in love. Of course he was upset with Katniss when he found out she wasn’t in love with him too. But he never blamed anything on her. And then when they had to go back into the games all he wanted was for her to live. He was just so kind and smart and loving. And of course it was so sad when he got hijacked but just so beautiful that his friends helped him recover. And how they spent sometime apart he was in the capital doing therapy and she was in 12 going through it. But I just love how he went back and they could heal together because she really did love him too. I think she did fall in love with him in the first arena she just couldn’t admit it to herself which is understandable. And I love that them having kids at the end of the series was really shown to be a choice.

About the art

Initially I'd planned to colour the piece like 'normal', but I'd done the sketch in white on a coloured BG and loved it so much that I wanted to try keeping it to the end! I've never tried this style before, but I had a lot of fun. The blanket, interestingly, developed almost...fire-like vibes? Blueish for the hottest flame?

I also had fun trying very slight drop shadowing for the writing and Procreate's bokeh brush. Lots of new things in this painting! Hope you like it 💜
