Amethio x Reader General HCs

First of all, you’re really something special if you’re Amethio’s partner. He’s fairly closed-off, albeit not rude. You’re probably the one person he trusts the most if he’s allowing you to be this close.

At first, he can seem pretty stiff. He means well, but he’s not at all accustomed to these feelings. And he may not admit it, but he’s actually nervous he could mess this up. He wants to do things right.

That being said, he’s definitely not the most outwardly affectionate, and he’s not super big on PDA.

Prefers to show his care for you with actions rather than words. His love language is definitely acts of service and quality time. Working for the Explorers means he’s often running wherever he’s ordered to, so spending time with you can sometimes be a luxury.

Will help care for your pokemon, taking great care to memorize their preferences and individual needs; they’re important companions to you, a sentiment he shares regarding his own pokemon, so of course he wants to care for them, too.

Partially because he wants them to like him to win you over!

His Corviknight and Ceruledge both definitely like you! Pokemon tend to have a sense for these sort of things, and they know how happy you make Amethio.

As far as physical affection goes he isn’t the biggest fan of PDA, like mentioned above, but that doesn’t mean he’s totally averse to it!

At first, if you were to hold his hand, he would totally stiffen up. It’s very sweet, but as he gets more used to it, holding hands is probably a favorite for him. Will slip his gloves off to feel your hand in his.

Holding hands is also perfect for him because it’s a way to wordlessly convey his feelings; he’ll often give your hand a gentle reassuring squeeze if you’re nervous or will mindlessly rub his thumb over the back of your hand when he gets more comfortable.

Later down the line when you have spent more time together, he’ll sink into your arms after having returned for a mission. He melts into you and feels like he can just breathe again, when he’s around you. You might hear him angrily mumble about his coworkers or the mission he was on, if you listen carefully.

Run your fingers through his hair and he'll fall asleep instantly.

If you’re a pokemon trainer, expect a bit of a lighthearted rivalry. Amethio can get competitive when it comes to battles, so having someone who can keep up is great for him.

If not, well, Amethio is strong enough to protect you, if the need arises.

"white, pay attention" white spinel called out to her diamond as they were going over what needed to be done around homeworld, but white wasn't paying attention "this is important"

"no it's not" white groaned lazily as he ran a hand though his hair "come on, let's have a bit of fun" he grinned at her but she had just ignored him.

"as I was saying, we need more quartz ready to attack" white spinel said turning back to the board, getting back on topic making white diamond groaned and roll his eyes.

White had watched his spinel work, making a soft grin come across his face as he watched how serious she was, he slowly stood up and walked to her before leaning down and wrapped his arms around her stomach causing her to scream out in shock "heh surprised" he laughed as he started to kiss along her neck softly.

"W-white, let me g-go and get b-back to work!" Spinel yelled as a steady blush spread against her pale face.

"no" white smiled as he spun her around so she was facing him, he immediately started to kiss her

Spinel groaned but started to kiss him back before pulling her head back "heh you want to play that badly huh?" She said as she grabbed White's jacket and pulled him closer to her.

"heh you know it" White grinned bigger.

Spinel smirked as she started to glow brightly "fine, go ahead and play" she said as white eyes widened

"wait, hold u-" white started but it was too late

The light went away as spinel went back to her childlike form "hi bestie!" spinel smile at him, she wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly.

White sighed and looked down at spinel "hey spinel" he smiled as he thought about how he was going to punish spinel for pulling this stunt with him.

I feel like I gotta talk about shipping Spinel. Specifically in regards to each party member's mental maturity.

I find simultaneously some people saying "why would anyone be attracted to Spinel, isn't she like mentally a child?" and some saying "why would anyone ship Spinel with *insert minor here* they're literally a minor"

The way Spinel is written and shown in the series gives different people entirely different ideas of Spinel's mental capacity/maturity, and different people of the same general opinion will still give you different reasons as their primary for why they hc Spinel to be the they do.

and I gotta ask: Is it wrong to think that both interpretations are valid? bc I totally see how a person could interpret her mental maturity either as more like just an adult with some issues and/or is ND, or interpret her as more like an actual child. I don't even think it's ableist or anything to read her as "mentally a child" or similar just because I personally read her are more similar to autistic adult like myself. And fictional characters aren't like real life people. They are who we make of them, and who you intend/interpret them to be is who they are in the reality that is your mind.

In my mind, in order to deem all Spinelx[minor] ships as pedophilic, I would need to deem any and every interpretation of Spinel someone has in which she has a mind more like that of a minor than an adult as wrong and not valid. I don't really comprehend physical age the same way NT people do, but I can tell when characters are written the same age by their thought processes and the decisions they make. Maybe there is a way for people to genuinely not have this same kind of requirement somehow so if so, do tell me i am very curious and it can even potentially help me in confronting certain situations down the road.

But what I do when I encounter any ship with Spinel in it, is to see how she and her partner(s) are written. I judge on a case by case basis if a ship involving Spinel is one where everyone in it is "on a level playing field" as I like to say. Same deal with aging up characters. Are they written like they're the same age? Because I am well aware that the label can say "goose" but the contents look a lot like gator, to put it metaphorically. I have to take a look for myself to judge the content of each work/series(this may include checking the author's page for sexually charged content featuring minors)

So I don't have the whole "stevinel" tag blocked, but I have blocked/blacklisted several fics and authors who i found ship Spinel in a "mentally uneven" way that I'm uncomfortable with.

I am, indeed, looking for feedback on this. I want to know what everyone's mindset is, and why they feel the way they do(if you're comfortable with sharing of course). It's something that is part of exploring my own self and gaining new skills. Maybe it's that it's hard for some to get past her appearance, maybe the way she acts just reads to them are more like a minor with mental issues than an adult with mental issues. Heck, maybe some people do deem her as immature for the same reasons people deem autistic/ND adults immature. I depend very heavily on observing others to even begin to think of the possibility of things most people don't even think about, like how I had a discussion recently about applying different lets of logic to fiction and reality. And only after people saying that was something they could do did I begin to feel like that was something I could do. Just please keep it respectful, or at least not telling other people they're terrible people who deserve terrible things like death or famine or whatever in the notes.

Canyon is a Sandwing bandit, he’s cocky, clever and overall pretty good at what he does.

Sawfly is a Hivewing Prince, he’s arrogant and mean, though he loves his older sister, Sirex, very much and would do anything to keep her safe.

Maelstrom is a Seawing noble, he’s extroverted and smug, he’s had more girlfriends than he himself has kept count of.

Nightfall is a Nightwing student, he is observant and clever and sometimes a bit of a know-it-all, he’s very close with his father, who is a nightwing General.

Hibiscus is a Rainwing healer's apprentice, he is very friendly and calm, everyone is pretty sure he’s never been mad in his life, he agrees.

Garnet is a Skywing noble, he’s mean and egotistical at times times but completely calm and kind towards his blind younger sister Spinel.

Violet is a Silkwing, Tailor/Seamster in the Lilac Hive (previously Jewel Hive), he’s kind and softspoken, he loves what he does and is very proud of it.

Copper is a Mudwing Sculpter and Potter, he is kind and likes to help where he can, he hatched from a blood-red egg and has 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Alder is a Leafwing mercenary, he is impulsive and reckless, the jewel around his neck is a gift from his mother whom he loves dearly.

North is an Icewing noble, he is Prideful above all else, but he is also very knowledgeable in all kind of things.

Amethio x Ghost Specialist! Reader

you’ve always found solace in the presence of your ghost-type friends, as they’ve always been there to keep you company.

perhaps because of that, you developed a similarity and particular affinity for ghost-types in battle.

like you said, Amethio has some (limited) knowledge of ghost types because of his Ceruledge, so he’s not as put off by you as some would be.

(Though, that may be because he’s more interested in having a battle with you.)

If you’re particularly shy or cover your face with a mask, he’s not the type to make a big deal of it.

He’ll definitely want to have a match if you also have a Ceruledge.

You do give him a heart attack sometimes, though. You and your pokemon are deadly silent and oftentimes he swears you pop out of nowhere behind him.

He gets used to it after a while though, but he’s still a little unnerved.

Your pokemon probably play tricks on him. It’s a little annoying but at the same time endearing.

He’s also baffled you can communicate with them but adjusts eventually.

Now waking up in the middle of the night with you in the corner of the room, shrouded in total darkness while you mutter back and forth with a Banette that wandered in? That, he doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to.

Spinel x Ghost Specialist! Reader

Good luck scaring this man. Even if he can’t keep track of you like he normally would, he has a sixth sense for when you’re skulking about.

You try to sneak up to him while he’s busy working and he just says “Hello, my dear,” without even turning around to look at you.

Also, his Umbreon is also constantly aware of your presence.

You were a bit worried about how your pokemon would take to his, due to the type difference, but after the initial wariness wore off they get along pretty well.

Every so often Spinel will send you a photo of your Mimikyu and his Umbreon cuddling.

He finds it fascinating that you can speak to your companions. He kind of wishes he could do the same with his.

He might tease or make a comment if you hide your face, but it’s lighthearted, and he’s quick to stop if he thinks he’s genuinely upset you.

Spinel’s not unnerved by any of your more unusual behaviors, but he’s also not the most normal guy himself, despite the facade he presents to others.

“Spinel, Gengar says he wants to go on a walk in the graveyard.”

“That’s nice, dear. Have fun.”
