nova isn’t the type of person to dwell on her misfortunes. she has an, “it is what it is” attitude, takes it and moves on holding her head high; she doesn’t wallow in self pity. she’s a firm believer in treating others how you want to be treated so how things go with her depends entirely on how you treat her. however, she is also incredibly forgiving; she is not grudge holding. once you’ve gained her trust and loyalty, there is no mountain she would not move for that person. she is also very outspoken, she’s not shy with her thoughts, never has been and never will be. when it comes to the supernatural side of things, nova is skeptical. she’s dead set on the mindset none of that exists.

biography.

nova, born sara aguirre was born to a great lineage of hunters. at least on her father’s side ⸺ the aguirre hunting family thoughout mexico, proud and respected amongst the hunting community. the union between diego & malena, doubted, questioned as malena was an ordinary human who wasn’t scared off by diego’s lineage, she was supportive of the fact and hopeful for their relationship to survive against all the odds of his family stacking against them. it was a relationship that persevered, living through any doubt those around them would share amongst each other. when had the last time been since a hunter in their family settled down with an average human? at least a hundred years. through their blossoming relationship, they’d have a child. a daughter born and she is the light of their lives they’d name sara and they doted on sara from her first breath of life to this world.

unfortunately with being part of an renounced and diligent hunting family, you make plenty of enemies from a variety of species but notoriously for the aguirres? a vampire who’s had it out for them for centuries. the story isn’t quite so clear what happened or why the beef started when it did, all the family knew is this vampire wouldn’t rest until the family line was deceased. sara was only two months old when her family fell to a heavy vampiric attack, leaving most of the family either dead or gravely injured but mostly dead with only a few members to scrape through. malena was near her own demise, diego would give his life to protecting to his family and with his death, malena was left with a baby sara and a difficult choice to make. with the remaining family members, they agreed it was for her own safety and protection to place her for a closed adoption. she would then be adopted by elena and juan reyes who’d always wanted a child of their own but found life to be too busy up until their forties where it was considerably harder to conceive and without hesitation, they took her as their own with a new name at the request of her birth mother and they would name her nova.

nova would then grow up in the home of the reyes’ where she would be unaware of her lineage throughout her life but would be unconditionally loved by her adoptive family. though even as a child, there was a yearning in her life, a unyielding feeling as though something were missing and it would carry on with her.

nova was twenty five when her father would suddenly pass from an unknown medical condition. his cause of death, a complete mystery to the reyes’ family and medical doctors alike. the official cause of death being undetermined but possible heart attack. it was at his funeral that through a grieving family would the truth slip out ⸺ he truly loved you like you were his and it was only then when nova would know the truth that she were adopted. suddenly the world she’d known had a shaky meaning and it festered onto that lifelong feeling of some part of her life being missing. unlike most others in her position that would feel anger nova wasn’t angry. only left empty and a sense of wonder of where she came from. it wasn’t a thought that would drive most others up a wall, she was happy with who she had for parents but who were they? this sense of wonder would lead torn between tentative and gratitude. she would bounce around from job to job, travelling around to try to find that so called inner peace people talked about... if there even was such a thing, not to let it affect her so much as she should be happy, she had people who loved her anyway, right? her travels would eventually land her in legion where she would take on a bartender’s job at pandemonium's. there wasn’t much nova was talented in but she sure as hell could mix a drink and pull off some tricks.

HEADCANONS AND TIDBITS.

nova is technically the last remaining member of the aguirre hunting family with the surviving family members each falling to their own deaths over the years. she is completely unaware of her lineage ⸺ the only thing she has of it is a pendant she’s had since she was a baby that her birth mother insured stay with her. it was “gifted” to her during her quinceañera and it is her birth father’s family’s crest pendant. she wears it around her neck as an 18′’ half necklace. when the truth was told to her, her mother told her it came with her when they adopted her. she wears it pretty regularly. it serves as both a loving gift from her parents when she was fifteen and part of another identity she yearns to know.

her car of choice she’s had for a few years now is a grey toyota camry.

her first real job coincidentally was a bartending job at 21 where she’d learn the ins and outs of the business. she’s good with the customers & can manage those who’ve had a bit too much. it might not seem like the dream job to others but she genuinely enjoys it and she’s good at it.

despite having a sense of disconnect with herself and the world at the moment, she does like to connect with others.

if she did believe in the supernatural, she’d be inclined to believe she was cursed somewhere. unluckiness rode her coattails, whether that was homework papers flying out of her backpack, that new phone months saved up for falls from her grasp and straight into a puddle in light of a storm or just missing a harsh deadline by a hair that wouldn’t be indented and that’s been the running theme of nova’s life. born under a bad sign, bad luck nipping at her heels, following her and encasing her like the plague. it’s a never ending cosmic joke of bad things happening, a running gag at this point but as her abuela would tell her, there were as many grey clouds in your life as you would accept them to be.

Meet the Players: The Midfeild

Aurélie Kaci

One of our best performers this last season, Kaci provided stability in the middle of the feild for us. Perhaps an underrated signing in 2019 for Tacón, this 30 year old was the backbone of our team during their first campaign in the top flight. A solid performer and a decent ball carrier, Kaci will have a lot of new talent to compete with this upcoming season, but her reliability in the middle of the park is still a much needed asset for this team.

Teresa Abelleira

Only 20, Teresa is an exciting and versatile central midfielder to add to this Real Madrid side. A new signing this season, Teresa usually plays in a double pivot or as an advanced attacker. She has the vision to split lines and the 1v1 ability to carry the ball, making her an exciting prospect as Real Madrid begin a new campaign.

Malena Ortíz Cruz

Malena was our captain during our previous campaign and reliable in the middle of the park. At 23, Malena and her sister were staples for CD Tacón with Malena playing her 100th game for the club last season, becoming the first player in cub history to do so.

Maite Oroz

Another new addition this season, Maite joins Real Madrid from Athletic Club. She can play in a double pivot or as a tradition #10. Technically gifted and a creative powerhouse, her ability to dribble out of pressure makes her nearly press resistant. Intelligent on and off the ball, Maite is an exciting young player to add to our side at just 22 years old.

Thaisa Moreno

Joining CD Tacón in 2019, Thaisa became the first Brazilian to play for Real Madrid Femenino. Another notable performer last season, Thaisa gave our midfield a much needed bite, and after the loss of Ainoa Campo in the summer, will be needed next season. At 30 years old, her experience in vital for this young side and her defensive work and vision does not go unnoticed.
