I've had some curious inquiries for how I acquired the mother of cats title. So here's the backstory.

Years ago when my husband was active duty and we were stationed in Japan for 3 years, I became a volunteer with the local US military sponsored animal rescue organization. I was its cat foster coordinator for a long time. Naturally, people would contact me, if their foster cats were having a hard time.

I'd put to practice what I'd learned from Jackson Galaxy, and it'd work!

So people began calling me cat mommy, because taking care of cats almost became my full time job. Especially with how many foster cats I would have in my apartment at any given time, and how many I would keep picking up off the streets, bringing home, and putting up for adoption. And I learned how to nurse and care for newborn kittens, so mama cat kind of for reals.

It was around the time when Game of Thrones became immensely popular. Soon enough, more or less as an inside joke around the organization, I became the mother of cats, instead of the mother of dragons.

And it stuck with me. Even when I moved on from the cat department to the board as treasurer.

It's followed me ever since. I'm the mother of cats, forever and ever, amen.
