hey there, this is nix! i'm sending you positive thoughts and hoping that the symptoms ease up soon 🧡 i admire your courage in opening about your struggles. you have a whole support system behind you here, and your health and happiness are important to us readers. i don’t have anything else to discuss at the moment, but i had this idea. what if we exchanged playlists or sets of songs we each consider favorites or just wanted the other to hear? i’m not sure if you've heard most of these songs (perhaps you have, given your wide knowledge of different genres), but i thought i’d recommend them for you to listen to:
⭐️ goodbye by the sundays

⭐️ sparks by coldplay
⭐️ on and on by stephen bishop
⭐️ live and learn by the cardigans
⭐️ so far away by carole king

⭐️ tears dry on their own by amy winehouse
⭐️ good old-fashioned lover boy by queen

Hey Nix! Thank you so much for the message – when I first read it last night, it really did make me tear up and even this morning, still a little teary and it’s all still very, very much appreciated. Thank you, truly, for saying that – it was scary to be open about the mental health stuff, as I normally don’t go beyond the ‘I have mental illness/am neurodivergent’ mention. I promise, my loves, I do medicate, I do the therapy, so things aren’t nearly as bad as they used to be, but I truly appreciate the support from all of you lovely constant readers. Messages and support like this truly mean the world to me, so again, thank you so much! I really loved your idea of exchanging playlists and I added all of these to a playlist that I’ll listen to on the way to work this morning. I know a few of the songs, but not all of them, so I’m so excited for the new ones (was also super excited to see the cardigans, arctic monkeys, and queen on there)! I have a hard time choosing favourites for anything, but I put together a mix down below, made it all pretty like, of things I’ve been listening to a lot lately and I hope whoever wants to listen to it will enjoy 😊

TOMEGIRLS
Opening in theaters this weekend:
Tumblr media
Book Club: The Next Chapter--"Best friend tough love."
Several times throughout this sequel to the 2018 comedy, one of the characters uses this phrase before offering a critique, usually not terribly tough, of one of the other three. In that spirit, I'm tempted to offer the returning quartet of leading ladies--Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen--some unsolicited movie critic tough love: cranking out this sort of girls-night-out fluff shouldn't be all they do in the valedictory stretch of their careers.
But I can't do it. These four women are all great stars, first-rate actors and classic screen beauties. In some cases they won their chops gradually--Bergen had a pretty rough start, for instance, but eventually developed killer comic timing--while others, like Keaton, seemed to find a one-of-a-kind persona early on. Each of them, however, has a splendid body of work to be proud of, and if now they want to make money doing relatively harmless, undemanding fare like this, they've earned the right.
That said, this one is really fluffy. But so what? There's a sense in which movies like this are critic-proof. As with 80 for Brady, another emeritus chick flick from earlier this year (also featuring Fonda), the stars here are such good company that the feeble plotting and rambling dialogue and platitudes about pursuing your dreams at any age become a shared smirk between them and the audience.
You may recall the line up, lifelong friends who stay in touch through a book club: Keaton's character, conveniently named Diane, is a reserved widow who defaults to finding reasons not to have adventures and has never scattered her husband's ashes. Fonda plays Vivian, a successful hotel magnate who has never married. Part One linked Vivian up with Arthur (Don Johnson) and Diane up with Mitchell (Andy Garcia).
Steenburgen plays Carol, a married chef; here her husband Bruce (Craig T. Nelson) has had a heart attack and she's policing his bacon intake. Bergen rounds out the quartet as Sharon, the long-divorced and still single retired federal judge.
Last time around the ladies were reading Fifty Shades of Grey, which rather embarrassingly stirred them up erotically. This time, after a long COVID lockdown, their selection is Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist, which helps inspire them to go on a trip, a bachelorette party for Vivian, who has at last agreed to marry Arthur. So the four of them tour Italy; first Rome, then Venice, then Tuscany.
You can imagine the results, again directed by Bill Holderman from a script he co-wrote, again, with Erin Simms. The ladies cavort, from montage to montage, making low-hanging-fruit lewd jokes about classical sculptures, or trying on wedding dresses. They get robbed, and the case is handled without much urgency by a venerable and impressively unformed officer of the polizia (played by Seven Beauties himself, Giancarlo Giannini). They flirt with guys, although Sharon being the only fully unattached one, she's the only one that gets to fully cut loose in this way. And through it all, they drink wine. Lots and lots of wine.
Like many other directors, Holderman leans hard on the Italian locations, and the movie looks great. It sounds great, too; the soundtrack has Bette Midler singing "Mambo Italiano" and Italian-language versions of pop hits from The Monkees to Hall and Oates. And it's hard to completely dismiss any movie that features Hugh Quarshie singing "Gloria," in Italian, accompanied by Mary Steenburgen on the accordion.

Mambo Marie x Fem!Reader: Fate and Her Whims
Summary: Anon requested “I will love whatever you can write for Marie!! Marie x reader where the reader just moved to New Orleans (The reader has visited the city several times before and met Marie the last time she was visiting) maybe they bump into eachother again at a pride parade?”
A/N: I really hope you like it! I’m getting into the groove of writing for Marie, so I’m hoping the more I write her, the longer the pieces will get :)
Warning(s): None
Tumblr media
You had never believed in fate.
The idea of fate bothered you in more ways than you could count. It felt like a loss of control in your life. You wanted to make your own life, your own journey.
But sometimes fate seemed very, very real. In ways that you couldn’t help but enjoy. One of them being the day you bumped into Mambo Marie for the second time.
Since meeting Marie on your last trip in New Orleans, she’d captivated you. With her easy grin and knowing eyes. You hadn’t stopped thinking about her since. So it was most certainly fate that brought the two of you together, at pride no less.
You’d been weaving through a crowd of rowdy individuals, when you knocked shoulders with someone. Hard.
“I’m so sorry!” You apologized immediately, before meeting a familiar set of eyes.
Marie looked back at you as recognition crossed her face. Then came the slow, flirty smile. The one that had haunted your mind for weeks.
“No apologies necessary, ma chérie.” She said, brushing wrinkles out of her blue dress.
It was then that you took in her appearance. The red dress you’d seen her in before was replaced by a blue one of a similar material, the scarf wrapped in her hair boasting a pattern of purples and blues that matched. Then you noticed the small bisexual flag painted on her cheek.
“Are you enjoying the activities?” You asked, your eyes lingering on the small flag. Maybe you had a shot.
“I did. Though I was just about to leave. Would you join me?”
Marie was very forward. Open. She wasted no time with casual conversation or small talk, laser focused on what she wanted. It was something you admired.
“I’d love to.”
A shiver ran down your spine as you placed your hand within her’s. She expertly guided you through the crowds gathered to celebrate. You were grateful for her guidance, as all you could focus on was the feeling of her skin. And what had led you to this moment.
Maybe fate wasn’t such a terrible thing after all.

marie x zelda x reader where marie and the reader really like cuddling in bed and zelda isn’t used to it so they have to almost teach her how to cuddle? ty!!
Here you go Anon. I hope you enjoy it.
You were resting in the bed, your head resting on Marie’s chest. Her arms were wrapped around your waist, one of your hands tracing meaningless shapes onto her stomach. You had your eyes closed, listening to the steady rhythm of Marie’s heart beating against her rib cage.
She was whispering a story into your hair, her voice quiet in the late night air. Her voice was soothing as you tangled your legs with hers. She ran a hand up your spine, her fingers trailing along your skin. You let out a contented sigh, snuggling closer to her.
“What in the name of Hecarte are you two doing?”
You looked over your shoulder, finding Zelda in the doorway. Her arms were crossed and she did not look pleased in the slightest.
“Cuddling,” you replied.
“Come join us, ma cherie,” Marie said.
You rolled over, holding your arm out towards her. She walked towards the edge of the bed, looking down at you with a raised eyebrow. You took her hand, trying to tug her onto the bed.
“What is the point of cuddling?” she asked.
“It’s comforting,” you said, “it’s nice.”
“It’s a pleasurable experience,” Marie said.
She relented, letting you pull her onto the bed. You wrapped an arm around her shoulders after letting go of her hand, pulling her against your body. You ran your nose along her jaw, smiling to yourself. Marie reached over your body, lacing her fingers through Zelda’s, resting their joined hands on your stomach.
Zelda settled her head against your shoulder, still not relaxing. Marie pressed a kiss to your temple, keeping her arm tight around your waist. You ran your fingers through Zelda’s hair, working through the knots that had gathered throughout the day. You gently massaged her scalp.
“Is this meant to have a purpose?” Zelda asked, slightly muffled against your shoulder.
“It is pleasurable,” Marie said, “relaxing.”
“There’s no purpose beyond enjoying it,” you replied.
Slowly her muscles began to relax as your fingers continued to run through her hair. You pressed a kiss to the top of her head, rubbing your thumb in soothing circles over her shoulder. Marie had gone back to telling her story, her voice soft. You loved listening to her voice, enjoying the way it evoked the feeling of velvet on skin.
Your eyes were falling closed, enjoying the warmth on both side of you from both women you loved. Zelda slipped her arm around your waist, pressed against Marie’s. You snuggled down in the bed, pulling both women closer.
“Do you understand now, ma cherie?” Marie asked.
“Maybe,” Zelda replied, “but more time learning couldn’t hurt.”
Both arms tightened around you. You sighed in contentment. This was the life.

✿ ✼ ✿ ✼ ✿ ✼ ✿ ✼ ✿ ✼ ✿ ✼ ✿ ✼
You have been friends with Zelda for as long as you can remember, you loved her a lot but you never knew how to communicate it and when Hilda called you the other day and told you what happened to Sabrina, you hurried to their mortuary as quick as possible. The journey from Europe to Greendale took you only two days, but it felt like years. You wanted to comfort Zelda as soon as possible. You knew how much she loved Sabrina and how devastated and empty she must feel.
When you reached the Spellman property your heartfelt heavy as if it would slip into your pocket any second. You took a deep breath before you knocked on the front door. Hearing the birds chirp and seeing how bright the sun shone felt cynical despite the fact in how much pain the household of the Spellman’s must be. Seconds later the front door opened and Hilda, the usually quirky and happy Brit, stood in the door frame. „Hilda...,” your breath hitched when you looked in her eyes. They were filled with sadness and hopelessness, you never saw her in that state and with that, you couldn’t imagine in which state Zelda must be. You wrapped your arms around the smaller blonde woman and tried to soothe her with your words, but it only made her tear up. She pulled you into the house and before you could react she took you jacket and put it on the hook.
„How are you Hilda?” you ask keeping your voice down. You could imagine her response, you could understand. „I- I mean it’s been two weeks since-“ her soft voice stopped while she tried to suppress tears slipping out of her eyes. „I get it, she was your niece and you have every right to grieve. Sabrina was such a smart and good-hearted girl, I miss her too,” you whispered and took her hand in yours. The blonde nodded and you followed her in the kitchen. It was neatly cleaned, it looked as nothing happened, while the family’s life was so cruelly destroyed everything seemed to go its normal way. „Zelda is upstairs in her room, she barely leaves it,” Hilda explained while filling the kettle with water.
„I’ll go upstairs and see how she’s doing,” you declared and turned towards the door. „Be careful, she hardly wants anyone in her room except Mambo and me sometimes,” she proclaimed. You wondered who Mambo was but you didn’t want to ask, fearing it was the wrong moment. You noted in the information before heading up to the red-headed witch’s room. You took a deep breath before knocking on her bedroom door, you wanted to be sensitive but you were afraid of failing.
There was no answer for your knock so you decided to just go inside, trying to survive. You knew exactly how furious Zelda can get, but you hoped when she sees you she’ll relax. Stepping through the wooden door frame you came to see a curled up Zelda hiding underneath a blanket. „Zelds...” your voice was soft scared she’d twitch away. Just a slight whimper let you know she was awake. Slowly and very carefully you walked over to her bed, sat next to her and placed your hand on her back. Only the unsteady breathing of hers could be heard. You’ve never seen her like this since the death of her parents, Zelda had built back her walls, earned back her tough facade.
Her face was covered with her red locks they were spread on the pillow. „Y/n, what are you doing here?” the witch slightly raised her head and eyes you. „I came to see how you were doing.” Your hands comfortingly travelled up and down her back, trying to soothe her. The older women hugged your waist burying her face in your lap. „I am so sorry Zelda, I know how hard it is for you, you loved her so much,” your fingers untangled her hair. There was no word spoken, neither did she move, the woman fell asleep on your lap. Her soft snores confirming that she had a peaceful rest. Not even the loud thuds that came from downstairs could wake her. You didn’t need Zelda to talk, she will if she’s ready.
˚ ༘♡ ·˚ ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ
You carefully placed Zelda’s head on her pillow again before you headed towards the kitchen, where Hilda and her nephew Ambrose sat. „She’s asleep,” you sighed and plopped yourself on one of the chairs. „How did you do tha-“
„I don’t know Hilda, she fell asleep on me,” you cut her off before placing a hand above hers. „She’s restless and she’s grieving. But it won’t work if there’s nobody to talk to, I will try to be there for her,” you reassured her.
You knew exactly how hard it could be to grieve over the loss of someone you love. Two centuries ago your dad died, it took you decades to get over it but it felt like a thousand years. He was that happy-go-lucky guy that everyone just loved, his appearance made clear that he was a softie. Your dad always sat in front of his house, reading the comic section in the newspaper, cackling over the sketched scenes.
Quickly, you shook off the unwanted memory staring in the empty mug in front of you, only seeing little rest of the tea in it. Only a slight crescent of the sun was visible on the clouded sky. A loud thud on the door made you jump. „That Must be Mambo,” the blonde witch remarked and scurried into the hallway. „Who is Mambo?” your question was addressed to Ambrose. „Aunt Zee wouldn’t tell us, but they’re kind of a thing,” the boy replied and scratched his back with his magic wand. An unpleasant sting in your chest made you flinch for a second but you managed to gather your emotions again. „Are you currently at least okay?” you asked him when you saw his pained expression on his face.
„Well, it’s alright I guess. Deep down I’m still hoping that this here is all long and cruel nightmare from which I might wake up any second,” The warlock explained. You nodded knowingly of how hard it must be to grieve over your Cousin, the one with whom you’ve spent years of your life living together. Though the girl caused trouble, he had to solve it and in the end, both of them were able to peacefully sleep in their beds again.
When the beautiful woman who was known as ,Mambo Marie’ entered the kitchen you couldn’t avert your gaze. It was like a star just lit the room. No wonder why Zelda loves her so much. „Hi, I’m Y/n” you reached out your hand.
The woman with the perfect brown skin gladly took it before she introduced herself. „My name is Mambo Marie.” Marie’s voice was like a rain shower on a summer day. The presence of the witch released the tensed atmosphere and for a moment it felt as everything has got back to normal.
˚ ༘♡ ·˚ ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ
Sounds of frogs were audible when you laid in your bed at the mortuary. All of your thoughts belonged to Zelda and you knew why you two only had contact over the phone. You loved her too much, you got jealous whenever she told you about a new significant other and when you saw that stunning witch earlier it only endorsed your distance.
Slowly but surely your eyelids got heavier and you fell into a sound sleep.

step by step by step
It was Claire-Marie who’d sat with Dona to explain the spell that evening. She said they were invoking a spirit to provide healing and strength for an extended family member back in Louisiana- and as usual, Dona was eager to help. Claire-Marie had smiled, and then explained each step of the spell.
Clothing was first, this spirit was ‘old school’ and preferred his ancestors dressed neatly, and that was fine- Dona was used to dressing conservatively for work, in her Healer-in-Training robes.
This spirit was also unique in that he preferred a quiet, tranquil environment. It made sense to Dona, especially if he was so favoured for healing spells. It meant she wasn’t permitted to speak during the spell. No one except Mambo herself would have that right, as a form of respect.
The spirit would provide the magic, and they needed to provide the vessel, Claire-Marie said. Vessels were usually things like jewellery, or little bags to carry and place, or dolls to move around. They ensured no drop of magic was wasted, which Dona found kind of... Poetic. Every effort by every member, and every spirit, was savoured.
The chosen vessel would be fingernails. It had taken Dona a second to process that- she must have looked quite unwell, because Claire-Marie gave a laugh then held her hand, explaining that they were looking to heal their family member of a form of cancer, so they needed to provide living cells. Nails- specifically the end of them, lodged under the nailbed, were the most easily and humanely obtained.
That made sense. Sort of. If they really were going to be healing cancer, what was a few fingernails?
Lee would be the donor. As a boy, he didn’t have the magical influence of the other Daughters, but he was still eager to help their family, so he’d volunteered. That sounded like Lee. Her selfless, kind, pure Lee.
And Dona, Claire-Marie had explained, would help in restraining him while the spell took place. It was another second before Dona thought it through- it was kind, really, to suggest that she be the one to be so close to him through his pain, given their relationship. Maybe she could keep him calm.
---
It was harder than she’d imagined, but not in the ways she anticipated.
To keep the silence that the spirit demanded, Lee had been gagged- but given Dona was sitting by his head, holding down his wrists, Dona saw every inch of his face contort with pain while Mambo took her sacrifice, dropping them into a bowl that Joulie held.
The clink, clink, clink of nails in the bronze bowl were the only sounds in the room, save for the Queen’s low humming. Dona bit her lip so hard she swore she’d started to bleed, tears dropping down her cheeks as she looked into Lee’s eyes, still holding him down.
When it was finally finished, the seal on the spell broken, Dona let out a choked sob, releasing Lee’s arms and removing the gag around his mouth. Her hands pressed to his temples, leaning down to touch her forehead against his, “I can’t believe you did that,” She whispered, sniffling, “All for someone else. Lee... Let me help you.”
She drew back, then, summoning her medi-wix kit from her backpack and tying her hair up. Dona popped her classes on and dug through the kit for skele-grow and some salves. She had him drink the potion first, and then worked on rubbing the salves down his fingers, bleeding and raw. He must be in so much pain... “Why does it always have to be you?” Dona asked, her glasses fogging up. She removed them to wipe them, “Isn’t there someone else in the family? Can they fly another guy over?”
Usually, Lee answered her questions as best he was able, but after his ordeal, the most he could manage was to shake his head before he laid back down, his breathing laboured. “I’m so sorry,” Dona whispered as she went back to working over him, “You’re so amazing. I’m so sorry.”

I’ve noticed that the seasons of shows that have come out in 2020 have been demonstrably shittier (likely a result of the Coronavirus) and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is no exception.
Please for the love of all that is good, show writers, if the production of your show was negatively impacted by Covid-19 and you were planning to air your final season in 2020, please make an additional season after Covid-19 in 2021.
________________________________________________________________
Begin rant:
As a Christian woman, I find CAOS to be dark, disturbed, warped, perverted and sick, but all around an excellent show that can unfailing send me to bed with nightmares.
That was until CAOS Part 4.
It fell short of everything that Sabrina was in such an expansive plethora of ways that it would take an entire book to break down every consistency error and disappointing compromise the writers made.
So, I am going to only pick a couple of things to rant about.
One of the reasons this season was awful was because the entire season revolved around Sabrina finding a boyfriend to the point that it literally ended in Sabrina’s death.
Don’t believe me? Sabrina said that she felt empty. Then the Weird affirmed that Sabrina was in fact empty, which allowed the Weird to use Sabrina as a host.
Then the Void was able to take advantage of the fact that Sabrina was empty and became one with Sabrina. Which ultimately led to Sabrina’s death when her Aunts and Agatha had to bleed the Void out of her.
And why was Sabrina empty you may ask? Because, all her friends had boyfriends and she didn’t.
But don’t you worry, because after she died, Nick threw away his life and swam up the River of Sorrows to spend eternity with her.
Now, I will not pretend like CAOS is some healthy show, because it is not. However, that is such an unhealthy narrative for anyone of any age.
The idea that if you are single that you are empty inside, and that you won’t be made whole until someone who wrote you off before dies for you and you spend eternity together.
That is some Romeo and Juliet heteronormative, misogynists' bullshit that is far too antiquated for 2021.
This show pretended to be pro-feminist and pro-LGBT, but then threw away the main characters life because she was single.
Then they destroyed two of the three LGBT couples they had: Ambrose and his boyfriend and Aunt Zelda and Mambo Marie (by revealing that Mambo Marie was actually a man).
Like who wrote this shit? Why couldn’t they leave well enough alone?
I don’t even want to begin to get into all the plot holes like what happened to the Endless? What happened to Lucifer? What happened to Adam? Was Lilith just imagining the sound of his crying? Did Lilith get her powers back? Who is running hell? Did they actually leave Caliban in the Void? When Sabrina died where did she go, and why was she the only one there before Nick showed up? Why was Father Blackwood immune to the empty but Roz was not? After all, Roz was immune to the Perverse. Why did Ms. Wardwell decide to lead the new Church of Night? Why did the show suddenly start referring to Lovecraft by name?
The list goes on, but my biggest question is why the hell did the 16 year old witches/Nephilims need to die? Especially, when the last three seasons proved that the show had many methods to bring the dead back to life?
End Rant.

Thoughts during part 4 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
So I did a similar post during part 3 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina but unlike that this post will be divided Into three parts, because its longer and deeper thoughts.
( will definitely include spoilers)
___________________
Episode 1-4:
Lying to your friends? Excellent idea
”Me and Caliban are getting married.” God I love this mess. But my shipping heart is Happy
Eww Lucifer you’re so gross. Honestly
Blackwood. God I hate this guy so much. Like Please Die
Sabrina I love you and I understand the hate you have for Caliban, but stop trying to sabotage them. My shipping heart is in pain
I love that she just decides to be best friend with her clone
Drunk Sabrina. I can already feel this is going to be fun or awkward
Update I hate THIS so much. Kill me. Drunk Sabrina is a mess and I’m not here for it. Okay a bit but also stop.
Honestly I feel so bad for the Uninvited. I know he’s evil but I feel a bit bad for him. And honestly he’d probably be loyal forever to Sabrina
Also Hell Sabrina in that red dress? Yes please. She’s so pretty in red
Wait Wait. Is Sabrina dressed like the comics? I had No idea I needed this until now
Sabrina casually being: well yes I’m going to make myself a boyfriend. God I wish that was how it worked in the real world
Lucas Hunt, I wished We could have seen more of him even though Nabrina will always own my heart
Caliban. Of course you’re up for some thing again.
Finally. Nabrina is starting to become back
Sixteen going on seventeen, a duet I didn’t know I needed between Sabrina and Nick
Thank god she decided to kill that weird candle man
Blackwood is so goddamn annoying. Can someone Finally kill him?
Salem is this season is great. Still wish he talked but you can still hear how sarcastic he is
Honestly I don’t like Harvey that much. But I like him and Roz together, and I’d rather have them as endgame than Habrina
Harvey and Theo, I want to see more of them together. And Honestly more of Theo all together
Prudence, Roz and Mambo Marie yes goddamn yes Please
Goddammit Blackwood. Chill for one second. Of course he decided to become an emperor. I feel so bad for Prudence
I really don’t like these vibes that the school is giving off
Poor Theo
Imagine just being able to touch the corona virus, to get immunity
Honestly this place have more of the original Nick than entire season 3 had. Him and Sabrina’s meeting, god I loved that. But Also I understand Why he acted like he did in s3 but still I’ve missed him.
Will this episode finally starting to mend Nabrina? Because I’m so here for it
This Harvey is honestly terrifying
Agatha and Nick in this world are honestly great
I never really liked Agatha but I love this version
Nick flirting with Sabrina, I’ve missed this so much
Yes yes yes. Its back

Reasons why I started to distrust Mambo Marie LeFleur:
Since I’m obsessed with CAOS, I begged my gf @rumpel8 to watch it a second (actually third or fourth) time with me. We both ship MadamSpellman and although I liked Mambo Marie in the beginning, she hates - hates - her guts (because she gets to be canon with Zelda and Lilith doesn’t), so gf was trying to find anything to make MM look bad, even claiming she was secretly a villain. I laughed, at first, but now I think my gf was right all along.
Tumblr media
But let’s start from the beginning:
Mambo Marie is a voodoo witch, and as Zelda says, she’s a Catholic, which means she should be enemies with satanic witches like Prudence, Ambrose and Zelda (and the Coven).
In New Orleans, she helped Prudence and Ambrose with Blackwood, but what if she did that only to gain their trust?
Mambo Marie arrives when the Cover summons the hedge witches and immediately sides with Zelda.
Tumblr media
Of course, Zelda is grateful for her assistance. But how did she arrive since she’s not one of the hedge witches? Prudence invited her, but she laters admits she does not know her true intentions.

Hence, what are those reasons and, most of all, what are “her ways?” Zelda is visibly uncomfortable and she gets really upset when she sees Marie performing one of her rituals. Do we actually know that it’s a protection dance, and not some ceremony to steal every bit of magic that is left for herself? Or enter everyone’s minds? Or something bad at all? Prudence keeps defending her, but since when does she talk voodoo?
While Lilith is rejected after asking for asylum and offering her magic/help to serve the Coven (while still being the idol Zelda is devout to, technically), Mambo Marie is accepted and asked to stay rather quickly. What’s different? Well, Marie touches Zelda’s hand while introducing herself.
Tumblr media
But what do we know about physycal contact with ill-intentioned beings?
Tumblr media
Yes, Zelda was talking about demoniac possession, but maybe it can be applied to other forms of manipulation too. And then, this.
Tumblr media
Sketchy. To do what, cherie? Zelda is enthralled, but what is she’s actually talking about slaughter the entire Coven or enslave them (to get revenge for her ancestors taken away from their home during the slave-trade) or something around those lines?
When Zelda is lying on the table after being operated, and they hear the banshee, Mambo Marie knows the three kids don’t have magic/strenght, but urges them to go check while she tends to Zelda. It doesn’t make sense: in case there’s a peril, being the only one with magic among them, it should be Mambo Marie go check.
Tumblr media
That gives her the chance to stay with Zelda for the whole time she’s in Limbo. Who said anything about burning purple candles? Who said anything about Limbo at all? Marie. But who tell us Zelda is really in Limbo and not some dream-like-vision created by Mambo? After all, she touches Zelda (stroking her hair, holding he hand) multiple times, and what could be mistaken for signs of affection, could be easily the ways she’s using to mold Zelda’s vision to her own likings. Edward as Mèt-tèt? Satanic witches don’t get guardian angels no matter how you want to call it, what if it’s Marie posing as Edward (Lilith did that too with Sabrina before the wedding with Blackwood), leading her to see the three stages of the moon? Leading her to Hecate?
Now, let’s talk about Hecate.
Aside from the fact that Zelda has clear loyalty issues (praise Satan, praise Lilith, praise Hecate, praise the guy I saw on my newspaper this morning) it’s very unlikely that a goddess would assist the most devout of satanic witches during her whole life.
So if Zelda’s Limbo is Mambo Marie’s doing, perhaps she is trying to become the most powerfool voodoo witch and is looking for adepts? Maybe wants to submit Zelda’s Coven? After all “she get’s her powers from somewhere else”, what if she’s not even voodoo? Is Hecate Mambo Marie in diguise? Is Hecate bad? Is Mambo Marie bad? After all, she was there during Hilda’s resurrection, right behind Zelda (and kept her eyes close for the majority of time).
Tumblr media
And then, the revelation, the actual, verified proof. No theories, no suppositions, just the plain fact: in the last episode, how did Blackwood find the twins?
Tumblr media
Blackwood’s only goal is to find the egg since he doesn’t sacrifice anyone like he intended to do in Scotland and he wouldn’t be able to find the twins unless he knew they were at the Spellman’s with the egg. But once there, how did he actually find them, how did he know where to look? I bet a dollhouse wouldn’t be his first choice.
The options are two: • there’s a spell that locates people/your lineage/magical beings wherever they are, even though it’s unlikely the dollhouse wasn’t under any concealing or protective charm • somebody told him
But who? Who knows where the twins are? Presumably all the Spellmans [Zelda, Hilda, Sabrina and Ambrose], Prudence and - drum rolls - Mambo Marie.
Tumblr media
The Spellmans would never tell Blackwood about the dollhouse (why would they and how, when?), Prudence could’ve said about her siblings to Agatha and Dorcas, and Agatha could’ve told Blackwood after going insane, but that’s unlikely. This only leaves out... Mambo Marie.
Whether she’s got anything to do with Hecate or not, she’s secretly plotting with Blackwood.
Theory: they met in New Orleans and Prudence and Ambrose didn’t find Mambo Marie’s randomly - either she or Blackwood led them directly into her den. Proof they’re plotting together could be MM possibly faking her own death after Zelda wakes up from Limbo cause we don’t actually see Blackwood kill her and the skeleton could be anyone’s dressed with MM’s clothes.
We don’t know what the plans are, but either way, there’s a fact that leaves little to the imagination: the only one left who knows about the twins is, in fact, Mambo Marie. If we assume they are allies, Mambo Marie told him about the twins hidden inside the dollhouse.
And that explains why Lilith and Mambo Marie share screen time during the fourth season: whether for her own reasons or because she’s Hecate (a new goddess claiming supremacy) or another of Blackwood’s lovers seeking revenge, Mambo Marie is evil, Zelda needs to be saved from her and freed from her charms and the only one who can do it, it’s Lilith.
THOUGHTS AFTER THE CAOS PART 4 TRAILER:
Tumblr media
Marie is in the Church but several rows behind. I’m kinda grateful cause Zarie is not my cup of tea. It used to be. But now I’m Madam Spellman (/Zelith) for life!
Tumblr media
That’s honestly a suspicious coincidence...
Tumblr media
Another suspicious coincidence...
Tumblr media
Yep. She’s helping...
Tumblr media
I honestly like this black sorority of witch-mortal-voodoo witch... But I still don’t trust her. Marie is deceiving everyone and she is evil .
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
If you had access to the early screening, feel free to roast this post.

Thoughts on Part 4
So last night I finished Part 4 and put out this post asking if you guys wanted to share your thoughts on the last season of our beloved show. I woke up this morning to quite a few responses so I decided to culminate all of the ones I could respond to onto this post and share my own opinions.
If anyone has anything else they would like to share, please feel free to do so either by sending me an ask or reblogging this post (this is a side blog so replying to the post, as much as I appreciate it, doesn’t let me respond as @scorlettimagines). Okay, here goes:
@fearisholdingmedown: lol the whole season didn't make any sense and the ending skdnmgh Sabrina and Nick?????? and Zelda questioning Hecate? and just. left me really underwhelmed
I agree with this. I was extremely underwhelmed with the season; don’t get me wrong, some parts were great and really made me smile, but other parts? To me, and to my Dad who watches it with me, it felt like the writers tried to cram too much into it. There were definitely plot lines that didn’t get wrapped up, and things that seemed out of character for some.
Zelda questioning Hecate: I kind of understand, because wouldn’t you obviously question your Goddess after you prayed to her to save your niece/daughter and she didn’t? It is out of character for Zelda to question her faith, but I don’t blame her; she’s never lost Sabrina permanently before and I imagine it’s broken her a fair bit.
Sabrina and Nick at the end: Okay, so when Nick showed up at the end, my first thought was that a lot of time had passed and Nick had had a sort of happy, but long, life. When he said he went swimming in the Sea of Sorrows, I was disappointed. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with Nick’s character this whole season; it feels like the writers didn’t put enough effort into him and just reduced him to a love interest. (I felt that with another character too but we’ll get to that later). Yay they got reunited, but also not yay for the way it happened at the end.
@screechingexpertpruneneck: I loved the ending. I loved that Sabrina saved everyone but sucks she died. I think we can all agree that Ambrose is by far the smartest character on the show. Caliban obviously deserved better. Nick proved himself worthy of Sabrina this season and I’m glad there together now. I still can’t believe he killed himself just to be with her.
I did actually like the end; yes it was sad that Sabrina died, but it was a nice way to wrap up the show. I think her heroic qualities got detracted from in the last season with the whole Queen of Hell thing so it was nice to see her get those back. Kiernan smashed it with the death scene, and that whole montage of her birthdays had me in tears.
Ambrose is 100% the smartest character on this show. To me, he was the best thing about this season, as he was one of the only ones who seemed not to have changed at least slightly. Ambrose has been my favourite character since the pilot. I don’t write about him because his character is so complex, so eccentric, so fully-fledged that I don’t think I could do that justice. It was nice to see that Ambrose remained that way until the end, and I’m not going to lie, I could watch a whole spin off show about him. This is me being calm before I get to the next point. Oh God, I’m running out of things to say here. Prepare yourselves guys, here goes.
Can someone please explain to me how the fuck-fuck-fuckity-fuck-fuck Caliban went from Prince of Hell, main villain of last season to well, that? Like when he showed up dancing, I was so confused. Like, they missed out the whole section about what happened after Sabrina literally turned him to stone? The wedding was bizarre; I wanted Calbrina a few months ago, but I don’t anymore. Then in episode 3, when he was sitting on the throne and revealed his plan (you can bet your bottom dollar I’m going to be using that for imagines) hope was restored. He was still the crafty little shit that I fell in love with back in January. But then, it was never mentioned again? Like, he was just there. As Sabrina Morningstar’s husband? For me, it was cringy and I feel like the writers definitely didn’t put enough effort into him- it was like they didn’t know what to do with him. Although, his part in the AU episode made me laugh. Considering that I’ve been following Sam Corlett’s career over 2020 and I know how well he can act, I was disappointed to see him reduced to basically a prop for a bit of eye candy. His “death” was anti-climactic and a bit shit. Anyway, Caliban to me is always gonna remain the Caliban he was in Part 3 (and tiny little bits of Part 4) because there’s character development and then there’s just taking the mick.
Nick, yeah. He did prove himself worthy of Sabrina, and I cried when they got back together, but as I mentioned before, I feel like that’s all he was used for this season. He didn’t really get a proper arc like previous seasons, and the fact that he killed himself just to be with her grated on me a bit, because that’s not what I would have expected from a character like him.
@robinisthebestfellow: Can we just talk about how random some of it was I mean like oh he’s good and honest annnnd then no
Assuming you mean Caliban? Just to add to the above rant, I didn’t want him to be nice. Yes, I write about him being nice in my imagines, but I always try to keep some of his actual character in my work (at least, I hope I do). But yeah, for my rant on Caliban see above.
@eyebagsarebetterthanhandbags: Whoever was on costume design for prudence knocked it out of the park she was gorgeous every millisecond of screen time- wished her and Ambrose made up tho at the very least😔 they were my fave couple
Prudence was another favourite of mine this season; she didn’t change in her character and she was, of course, absolutely stunning. For her and Ambrose to make up would have been lovely, but I have a feeling from how close they were in the final episode that the writers were planning on it.
@itscoldinwonderland: Lilith, Zelda and Ambrose all deserve so much better.
Okay, starting with Lilith. I agree here. I feel like the whole Hell family (Lucifer, Caliban, Lilith etc) was just used and abused this season. I think she got better as the season went on, but for me, killing the baby was a bit extreme. Her last scene was mental; I don’t think she deserved to go as insane as she did, but well done to her for finally taking down Lucifer. Fuck the patriarchy.
Zelda. Yes. Yes. Yes. She deserved to be happy. Miranda Otto killed it this season with the emotional side of things. The whole thing with Vinegar Tom made me sob harder than anything else this season; it was something I relate to and well done to Miranda for getting that across perfectly.
Ambrose. I would have liked to have seen a more rounded ending for him rather than just standing at Sabrina’s graveside. But discussing seeing more of Ambrose’s character would open up a whole can of worms, for example, WHY did he try to blow up the Vatican?
@supportstudies: it was so weird?? I guess it’s because the writers had to rush the ending but now I have more questions- also sad bc I wanted more caliban
I was under the impression that this was written before the show got cancelled, but if they already knew then this makes more sense. For me, a lot was rushed and there were a lot of questions that were left unanswered.
Caliban? You’ve seen the above rant, you know how I feel about that.
@lizmny3: Mambo Marie really had me there
Same, lovely, same. More for Zelda than any other reason.
Okay, so that’s it for now. Again, if anyone has anything else they would like to share please do. Requests are open again now and you should be getting another Caliban imagine next week (fingers crossed). I’m off to write two bibliographies now. Wish me luck!
