Unexpected Surprise
Fandom: Kissed by the Baddest Bidder
Pairing: Eisuke X MC
Genre : Fluff with a teensy bit of angst
TW: Mentions of wanting to lose weight, pregnancy
She looked at herself in the full length mirror, turning right, then turning left. Her favorite pair of leggings weren’t fitting like they used to. She had gained weight. It was hard maintaining a figure that the Tres Spades CEO deserved, or at least what she thought he deserved. She sighed, “I have to lose some weight.” She said to herself quietly.
She entered Eisuke’s kitchen, immediately starting the coffee. She opened the fridge and took out eggs, onions, and peppers. Preparing to make breakfast. Eisuke came out of his home office looking at his phone; when he looked up, he saw _ _ _ looking displeased. “What’s the matter?” She shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know, just in a bad mood.” He arched an eyebrow. “You haven’t even been up for an hour. What would put you in a bad mood so quickly?” She rolled her eyes, “I don’t know, Eisuke. Just leave me alone and let me cook breakfast!” She snapped at him, “You don’t need to get pissy with me. It was a question.” She immediately felt terrible.
“Sorry,” He kissed her forehead. “It’s fine.” He went to sit at the table while she cooked. The door swung open and in sauntered Ota, Baba, Mamoru, and Soryu. She sighed. Could she get a moment of peace with her boyfriend for once? Of course, knowing they’d want to eat, she made extra. There were omelets, toast, sausage, fruit, and yogurt when she brought the food to the table. “Is this a special occasion? It’s like a gourmet breakfast.” Baba joked. Soryu shot a glare his way, shutting him up. “I dunno. I figured you’re all here, so I might as well.”
As they talked and ate, she gave herself a small serving, knowing she had to watch how she ate if she wanted to lose weight. As everyone ate their fill, they all talked while she cleaned breakfast, but Eisuke noticed her taking bites of sausage and fruit as she packed everything up. After wiping the table, she left to go shopping. “Have you noticed _ _ _ eating more than normal?” Mamoru asked. Eisuke was swiping through his phone. “A bit” Soryu leaned back in the chair, crossing his arms across his chest. “You don’t find that odd? Maybe she’s stressed?” Eisuke looked up from his phone to his best friend. “Maybe.” Ota was doodling on a napkin. “I would pay attention to her. It could be something serious.” Eisuke scratched the back of his neck. “I’m over this conversation.”
When Eisuke returned home from work that same day, he found her asleep on the couch with the TV playing. Taking off his shoes, he went around the sofa, lifting her up and taking her to the bedroom where she could sleep properly. Her eyes blinked open when he was covering her up. “Eisuke?” He reached up and caressed her cheek. “You fell asleep on the couch.” She sat up and rubbed her eyes. “I’ve been exhausted lately. There’s no reason for it. Not like I don’t get enough sleep.” He kissed her on the forehead, and her stomach growled. “Have you eaten?” She blushed, “I ate. I’m just constantly hungry. It’s irritating.” He smiled.
“How about a snack, then?” How could she refuse when he was being so sweet? “Okay,” She went to stand up and suddenly felt dizzy. Not able to see, she sat down, waiting for her vision to return to normal “_ _ _?” She stood back up. “I just got really dizzy.” Eisuke was quiet as they went into the kitchen. As they gathered food for a nice snack, his mind was racing. Maybe something was wrong? Some medical condition, perhaps? After their snack, she went to bed.
The following day, she entered the kitchen to start breakfast when she heard footsteps behind her. She turned and smiled, but he didn’t smile back; instead, he crossed his arms. “What?” she asked, feeling his stare heavy on her. “There was a bunch of candy wrappers in the trash this morning. Did you get up during the night to eat?” She adverted her eyes. “I felt like I was starving” Eisuke raised his eyebrows. “So you ate a bunch of candy?” She sighed. “I didn’t want to make anything; someone had given me some candy.”
She furrowed her brows. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me! It’s like I can’t stop myself. I’m so hungry all the time. I’ve been trying to watch what I eat to lose weight, but I feel sick if I don’t eat.” He motioned for her to come to him and led her to the kitchen table, sitting across from each other. “Why are you trying to lose weight? You’re fine the way you are.”
“Because I want you to be proud to call me your woman, not when I look bloated and chubby. I hate it.” He put his head in his hand. “You’re fine. You’re more beautiful than any other woman anyways. Stop trying to live up to what you think are my expectations without knowing first.” He looked her over, noticing her breasts looking a little fuller, her face a little swollen. It couldn’t be weight gain; she hasn’t put on that much weight, maybe a couple of pounds, but not enough to make a noticeable difference.
He started connecting the dots as he looked at her. Her insatiable hunger, dizzy spells, exhaustion, and now she tells him she’s bloated. He cleared his throat, and she looked at him, confused. “What?” He swallowed, almost nervous to say what he was about to say. “I don’t think you need to lose weight. You should feed your body if it’s telling you to.” She was confused. “Why would I do that? I’ll gain more weight?” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I don’t think it’s just weight gain, _ _ . I think you’re pregnant.” Her eyes widened, and she just looked at him for what seemed like minutes of not speaking. “ _ _?” When he called her name, she came to reality. “Oh my god! I think you’re right. How did this even happen?” Eisuke smirked, “I can show you how if you want?” She kicked him from under the table. “Stop it. This is serious! I’m on birth control.” She looked at him again. “Why are you so calm?!”
He sighed, “Birth control isn’t completely effective in preventing pregnancy. We’d have to use a condom in tandem with birth control, but why would we do that? We’re only sleeping with each other. What does it matter anyway? I can take care of you and the baby. That’s no problem. It just means I get to see the efforts of our lovemaking with your swollen womb. To think we made life. Feels special, don’t you think?” She beamed. “Come here, baby.”
She walked over towards him and pulled her down to sit on his lap, and he put his hand on her stomach and kissed her cheek. “Don’t be scared, be excited. Take joy in the fact that you are growing a life. That’s what you deserve, don’t think of this as a bad thing.” She smiled, “Of course, I would be excited, but you talk about it as if I am. We don’t know till I take a test.” He kissed her again on the temple. “Because you are; I don’t need some silly test to tell me something I already know.” She rolls her eyes at his arrogance.
“Okay, Eisuke. Cause you’re a doctor now? Aren’t I supposed to feel sick?” Eisuke sits back and crosses his arms. “If you’re so concerned, maybe we should call Luke here? Would that make you feel better?” She pondered for a moment. “So indecisive” He picked up his phone, calling Luke without waiting for her answer.
Not long after Eisuke hangs up the phone, there’s a knock at the door. Eisuke gets up and answers it, and Luke steps in with a bag of medical supplies. He places the bag on the counter and looks at both Eisuke and _ _ _. “So what can I do for you?” You cross your arms. “Sexy bones?” He reads your body language. Eisuke clears his throat and stands up. “I need you to see if she’s pregnant.” Luke’s eyes go wide, and he gasps. “Were you trying? I had no idea.” She shakes her head. “No,” Luke smiles, “Accidents are always fun too.” He picks up his bag. “Let’s go in the bedroom so I can examine you.” She nods, following Luke.
Moments later, she walks out with Luke remaining completely quiet. Eisuke looks at her. “What happened?” Eisuke asks. _ _ _ silently sits down, and Luke walks up to Eisuke putting his hand on his shoulder and lowering his voice to a whisper, “She’s pregnant, and she’s scared. It would be best if you were supportive. Stress can affect the baby.” Eisuke nods, and Luke pats him on the shoulder. He takes out a prescription pad. “I’m going to give you a prescription for some prenatal vitamins.” He says as he writes, “Also, let me know if you start feeling nauseous. If you can’t keep food down, I can prescribe something for the nausea, but you might be lucky and not feel sick at all.” He smiles as he hands her the prescription. She takes it, looks at the prescription, and looks at Eisuke worriedly. Luke smiles again, picks up his bag, and leaves the suite, shutting the door behind him.
She turns away from Eisuke, “I’m going back to bed.” She set the prescription on the table and walked to the bedroom, wrapping herself under the blankets. Eisuke followed not long after, not wanting her to shut him out. He sat on his side of the bed, crossing his legs at the ankles. He lifted the blanket so he could see her face. Seeing tears falling. He furrows his brow, and uncovers her head, then lays down so he is level with her. “Do you not want the baby?” He asked as he stroked her hair. “It’s not that. I want to keep it. Of course, I’ll keep it. What if I’m not a good mother? I have no idea how to raise a child. I’ve never really been around children.” His face relaxes. “I think this is a normal fear, but I also think your instincts will tell you how to do the rest. You’re going to be a great mother. You are caring and kind. How could you not be?”
She wiped her eyes. “I don’t know why I’m so upset, it was bound to happen eventually, but I’m really upset.” Eisuke smiled tenderly at her, “It’s probably hormones, baby.” He kissed the top of her head. “Turn over” She gave him a confused look. “Just do it” She turned on her side so her back faced Eisuke, and he rubbed her back soothingly. “You’ll get through this because I will be here every step of the way. Now close your eyes. You need to rest.”

She Should Be With Me ~ Soryu
Hey Guys!😊
Back with the 3rd story as part of this set, and this time it's Soryu!🥰
As always, I have included the link to the prologue below!⬇️⬇️
So far I have previously posted Eisuke's and Mamoru's stories! 💕
So this is...
Soryu x MC
A story of jealousy and fluff 😊
Disclaimer ~ Characters belong to Voltage Inc
~3857 words
It was as though time had stopped. Being a mobster meant Soryu had faced his fair share of danger. He had stared down the barrel of a gun, numerous times, and had participated in many shoot outs. The man had walked the fine line between life and death too many times to count. Yet the words that had just left MC’s lips left him frozen. Time stood still.
He was relieved that no one seemed to notice how his pulse had spiked. He could hear the drumming of his heart in his ears, blocking out any other surrounding sounds. His eyes focused intently on the only woman who had ever held his heart captive.
Soryu had always hated women. Their weakness, the smell of their perfume, the sound of their voices. He hated it all. Yet meeting MC had softened the cold mobster’s heart. Finally allowing himself to open up to a woman. Finding the only woman who did not irritate the man.
He never expected to fall in love with MC when they met a few years ago. But how could he not? After all, she was different to the others. A fact Soryu learned when they chose MC to help him out.
It all started when Soryu told Eisuke of the dilemma he and the Ice Dragons were facing. Another mob boss was sending his daughter over to meet with the Ice Dragons in the hopes of forming an alliance. During that time, Soryu was tasked with ensuring her safety while discussions took place.
As such he needed another female. One who could keep the daughter company during the day, and when needed attend meetings in her stead, allowing Soryu to prevent any potential harm coming to the mob boss’s daughter.
After showing Eisuke a photo of the guest, Eisuke immediately suggested one of the newer maids he had hired. She looked similar and had shown a feistier and braver side compared to most women he had met. Perfect for this job.
When Soryu met MC, she had been confused as to why he would want her, a complete stranger, to assist him. Nonetheless, she readily agreed to support him. Even when Soryu attempted to intimidate her in a way the other mob members would, she did not flinch. She held his look, returning one of her own. She really was different, he thought.
In the month she assisted him, MC kept the visiting daughter company during the day, and attended meetings at night. Due to their close proximity during this month Soryu and MC had come to learn much about each other. They soon found a mutual love for detective novels, discussing new and old releases frequently. MC even tried recommending some of the movies to Soryu, often dragging him to see new releases with her.
What surprised Soryu was how, rather than being annoyed with MC’s presence and insistence, he cherished those moments together. He looked forward to the next. He soon came to crave their time together.
So much so, when it came time for him to no longer need MC’s assistance, he still kept her around. Discussing detective novels became their daily conversation when they bumped into each other around the hotel. They would meet up regularly for coffee or to go see the new releases of these movies.
Soon Soryu introduced her properly to the other bidder’s, although this was punishment due to him losing a game of poker to Eisuke. It didn’t take long for the other guys to love spending time with MC just as much as he did.
However, just as Soryu realised he had fallen in love with MC and was prepared to tell her, he learned the devastating fact that she had a boyfriend. And he settled himself to endure the pain of an unrequited love.
As the years had gone by, Soryu had fallen more deeply in love with MC. He still cherished his moments with her discussing and swapping novels. Seeing films. He really had settled to love her from afar.
Yet sometimes, just sometimes, he saw something in the looks she gave him. The smiles she shared. That something, giving him hope that maybe, just maybe, she may also have a part of her that she longed to share with him. But these looks were always gone as quickly as they appeared. Soryu was always left wondering, had he imagined those looks?
As Soryu watched the others questioning MC over her decision to move in with her boyfriend, he heard as the final bombshell was dropped.
“So,while I really am grateful for the promotion Eisuke, I, uh, I may have to start looking for a new job… the apartment Mason chose for us… it is quite far away and while I can travel in at the moment, it would be best for me if I were to work closer to our home…” MC spoke, the sadness evident in her voice.
“Do you want to leave?” Eisuke asked, looking at MC in shock.
“It’s not that I want to, but it would be closer to home” She responded, the pain of these words, crystal clear in her glossy eyes.
“Then don’t” Soryu couldn’t help but interrupt. Everyone turned their eyes to him, and he finally realised what he had done. “Look… he chose the place, and now you’re going to have to leave a job you love and your friends? I don’t think you should go…”
Following that last remark, Soryu left the penthouse behind, everyone’s eyes following him. His departure and the other bidder’s distraction, meant no one noticed as MC held a hand to her chest as her eyes followed Soryu affectionately. Her heart rate increasing at his sudden declaration.
**
A couple of weeks had passed since MC had informed everyone that she would be seeking a new job. Everyone had been tiptoeing around the matter. No one wanting to discuss her impending departure. Particularly when Soryu was around. And he was more than aware of their conscious efforts to avoid discussing the topic of MC leaving when he was present.
The penthouse lounge would go quiet when he entered the room anytime MC was being discussed. Soryu felt the tense, sympathetic looks the others gave him. He didn’t want or need their sympathy. He just wanted them to treat him normally. And he wanted MC to stay.
He had thought, as long as she was close by, he could watch her from a distance. Sharing in their daily conversations… that would be enough for him. If she were to leave, he would lose even that small comfort. It was a comfort he was desperate to keep.
Today was like any other day for Soryu. He and MC had arranged to meet for a coffee to discuss the latest detective stories they had been reading, and have a general catch up.
Soryu sat at their usual table. The book he had been reading sat closed atop the table. The story had been about the disappearance of a teenage girl, whose body was later discovered in a woodland in the countryside. Two detectives were tasked were finding the culprit. Before the end of the book, two more teenage girls went missing and were later discovered, one by a canal and the other beside the motorway. Soryu had enjoyed the story, and was looking forward to discussing the book with MC, since she had been the one to recommend the book to him.
The bell on the café door chimed, and MC walked in. The moment she spotted Soryu her face lit up with a smile as bright as the morning sunrise. Soryu’s features softened in return. His heart beating at a slightly faster pace at her arrival.
“Soryu! I hope you weren’t waiting too long!” MC stated, apologetic for arriving after Soryu.
He shook his head, pulling her chair out for her. Truthfully, he had been their long enough to enjoy two coffee’s already, excited to see her. But he wouldn’t be telling her that.
A waitress brought over two coffee’s as if she had been waiting for the moment MC arrived to do so, leaving the pair to settle into a friendly discussion. It didn’t take long for them to be so enthralled in their discussion that the minutes turned to an hour, and one coffee had become two then three.
As MC finished her coffee, she smiled at Soryu.
“What?” Soryu asked, a nervous blush staining his cheeks.
“Nothing, it’s just nice… being able to talk with you like this… I’ll… I’ll miss it” MC whispered the words, pain once again showing itself on her features.
“Miss it?” Soryu asked, genuinely bewildered by her statement.
“You know… when I’m gone” tears had begun to fill MC’s eyes, she seemed to curl in on herself. The brightness she usually displayed had dimmed slightly.
“Don’t be ridiculous MC” Soryu snapped, surprising both himself and MC.
She stared at him in shock. In the years MC and Soryu had known one another, since becoming friends, he had never lost his temper or raised his voice at her. Not once. Yet here he was, his emotions high, getting angry.
“I’m not being ridiculous Soryu! Once I have a new job, I won’t be at the hotel anymore. If I’m not there anymore, then I won’t see you guys anymore!” MC replied, equally frustrated.
“THEN DON’T LEAVE!” Soryu shouted, his eyes filled with anguish, yet he couldn’t control how he seemed to burn with anger.
His heart hurt more, when he saw the tears become too heavy for MC to prevent them from falling. Words failed him when she dumped some money on the table, grabbed her bag and ran from the café. He could only stare vacantly at the chair she had been sat in only moments earlier.
Why had he raised his voice? If that was the last outing they were to share… why did he have to raise his voice. Why did he have to make her cry?
Soryu clenched his hands into tight fists. His nails dug into his palms, leaving deep indentations in the skin. Yet the pain was nothing compared to the ache in his heart.
**
A couple more weeks had passed, and Soryu hadn’t seen or spoken to MC since she fled the coffee shop. She wasn’t answering his calls, responding to his messages, and he hadn’t seen her around the hotel. He was beginning to feel uneasy without her presence. Was she ok?
As he entered the penthouse lounge he noticed the others surrounding Eisuke, a sheet of paper sitting on the table in front of them. The upset on their faces told Soryu that whatever it was, they didn’t like it.
“What’s that?” Soryu asked, approaching the group.
“MC resigned. With immediate effect.” Eisuke replied, eyes fixed on the letter in front of him.
“What? Didn’t you stop her?” Soryu asked, his heart rate spiking.
“I would have if I had spoken with her! She left the letter here. She didn’t even say goodbye.” Eisuke responded, the frustration in his voice clear.
Soryu finally looked at the letter. The words on the page were in MC’s neatest writing. Her signature at the end.
‘Dear Mr Ichinomiya,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work for a hotel with such a high esteem as the Tres Spades.
In the years I have been here, I have grown as an individual vastly, learned valuable skills, and made numerous friends.
When you offered me the promotion recently, I was overjoyed. I loved working here at the hotel, and to be noticed for my skills was a privilege and compliment I do not take lately.
It is with a heavy heart, that due to travel issues, I hand in my letter of resignation. Resigning with immediate effect.
Kindest Regards,
MC
P.S… I’m sorry I could not say goodbye to you all. Situations at home have meant I needed to leave sooner than I had expected. Seeing you all would have made leaving that much harder, and I couldn’t have you refusing my resignation. You guys have been my closest friends for the last few years, and I will always be grateful to you all. Goodbye, MC x’
The letter was short and sweet. But what struck Soryu was her mentioning situations at home. Were her and Mason having problems?
“Eisuke… are you really going to let her leave that easily?” Soryu grunted, hoping his friend would be the one to do something so he could keep his own personal feelings guarded longer.
“No.”
“EISUKE!” Soryu shouted, his frustration at MC leaving once again bubbling over.
“Soryu, she made a decision. As her friend I have to respect it. But as your friend I will do you one curtesy” Eisuke replied, his signature smirk on his face.
“What?”
“3 weeks. Find her in 3 weeks, be honest with her, and if she comes back we will treat it as though she was on holiday. If in 3 weeks she isn’t back, I will formally process and accept her resignation”
3 weeks. That’s all he needed. He nodded his thanks to Eisuke, and dialled Inui’s number as he walked out from the penthouse.
“Hey Inui, I need people looking for MC. Find where she is, and tell me. ASAP. We only have 3 weeks.”
Hope filled Soryu. No matter what she says, at the end of these 3 weeks… he will finally have told MC he loves her. His feelings would no longer be shackled away.
**
“Boss, she’s working in a coffee shop called La Casetta del Caffè”
The words stopped Soryu where he was. 2 weeks. 2 weeks they had been searching for MC and now they had finally found her.
Soryu was determined he would waste no more time. He picked up a bouquet of roses and raced to the coffee shops where MC was working.
As he entered the coffee shop, he saw her. He felt his heart fill with anticipation. It had been a month since he heard her voice. A month since she had run out of that coffee shop.
Running a hand through his tousled hair, he smoothed his jacket down, approaching the counter.
“Welcome to La Casetta del Caffè, what can I get you?” MC said smiling, but when she finally looked up, her smile fell. The sight of Soryu, someone who should not be there, surprised her.
“Hey MC” Soryu said, showing her a small smile, a blush stained his cheeks.
She was a beautiful as he remembered. It sounded ridiculous. Of course, she was, it had only been a month. But that month had felt like eternity to him. His heart broke more each day they were apart. Yet seeing her now, he felt whole again.
“W-what are you doing here?” MC asked, she was surprised but she could hide the happiness seeing Soryu brought her.
“I need to talk to you; what time does your break start?” Soryu asked, when a kind looking older gentleman responded.
“MC, you can go on your break now if you like” He smiled and looked toward Soryu, “I hope you treat her a bit better than that other one!” the man huffed and went back to serving customers.
Soryu looked to MC confused.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll meet you outside with a coffee in 5 minutes ok?” Soryu nodded in reply, heading outside, as MC began preparing two coffees.
MC brought the two coffees outside and sat opposite Soryu at the table. Sitting outside offered them some privacy, away from the prying eyes of the customers and owner.
“So… what are you doing here?” MC asked.
“First… these are for you.” Soryu said, handing MC the roses he had bought before arriving. Surprised, MC accepted the bouquet, smelling the flowers.
“They’re beautiful… thank you” MC smiled.
“And I really do need to talk to you…”
“Ok, sure…” MC replied nervously.
“Please, don’t say anything until I’ve finished. I’ve wanted to say a lot of this for a long time.” MC nodded and Soryu continued, “Firstly, I’m sorry for shouting at you when we went out before. I was hurting knowing you were leaving, that didn’t give me a right to shout at you, but I need you to know, it was from a place of pain about losing you that cause my outburst.”
Soryu sighed, looking up before continuing.
“And secondly. When I said I didn’t want you to leave, I meant it. But I didn’t mean it in the way the others were meaning it. I wasn’t going to miss you because you were my friend. I was going to miss you, and didn’t want you to leave, because… because I love you. MC I’ve been in love with you for almost as long as I have known you. I’m utterly crazy about you, and I thought just having you near was enough, that I would never need to tell you how I feel, but then you left and I realised I messed up never telling you.”
“Soryu…”
“Look, MC… Eisuke gave me 3 weeks. 3 weeks to tell you how I feel. 3 weeks to try convince you to come back. If you come back by Friday next week… they’ll ignore your resignation letter. You can come back like you never left. But if you don’t… if you don’t return by Friday, he will formally process your resignation.”
When he finished Soryu stood. He smiled at MC, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.
“I’ll be in the hotel all day Friday… I… I hope you come back MC”
Following his remark, he began walking, before turning towards the café door where the owner quietly stood.
“Sir, I don’t know what incident you were referring to, but I assure you, if she chose to come to me, I would treat her with the utmost respect and care. That, I promise you.” Smiling once at MC, Soryu walked away and headed back for the Tres Spades.
If he had turned to look, he may have noticed as the tears fell from MC’s eyes, the kind smile she showed him as he walked away, and the hand she held to her chest.
**
A week had passed. It was now Friday. MC had not visited once, nor had she contacted any of them. Yet Soryu held onto that glimmer of hope that she would come.
Soryu sat in the penthouse lounge waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Seconds turned to minutes. The minutes turned to hours. Still MC had not arrived. It was getting later, and the others who had sat with him at various points during the day had returned to their own rooms.
8pm… she isn’t coming, is she… Soryu thought. Rising to his feet, he headed towards his own suite. Disappointment and hurt filled his heart. He really believed she would come back. He really believed, she should be with him.
When he arrived back in his suite, he poured himself a large brandy. He wasn’t normally one to drown his sorrows, but today, he wanted to drink until he forgot why he was hurting.
He sat on his sofa, head in his hands. The pain all he could think about. Until…
Knock. Knock. Knock.
A knocking on his door grabbed his attention. Who on earth would be knocking on his suite door now? If it was Baba or Ota, he swore to God he would pull his gun out so quickly. Yet the sight that greeted him made his eyes bulge and mouth drop open.
“Sorry I’m so late, it took a while to pack and then I needed to meet with Eisuke!” MC stood before him, a small suite case in her hands.
“MC!” Soryu exclaimed, pulling her into a tight crushing embrace. “You… you came back”
“I choose happiness” MC whispered, returning Soryu’s embrace. “And… you never let me respond to what you told me last week.”
Soryu pulled back slightly. He looked around the corridor to make sure the others weren’t spying on them, before dragging MC into his room.
They sat together on the sofa. Soryu kept his arms around MC as they snuggled close.
“So… first tell me what that man meant when he said he hoped I would treat you better?”
“Ah… that. Mason wanted me to quit the hotel. He argued about it, a lot. When I finally quit, and found the job at the café he came in on my second shift and screamed at me in front of the customers and owner about how I wasn’t working in a proper job and so we had less money coming in. I was mortified and the owner stepped in. He had moved me away from my job and friends and still had the audacity to moan about me not having as much money coming in. That was the end of things, it was the final straw.”
“That explains that one…” Soryu replied, he felt his own anger at the way MC’s ex had felt he could treat her. “So… you’re back?”
“Yep, Eisuke was happy to see me when I walked through the door. He wasted no time getting me to make him a coffee” MC giggled.
“I’m glad you’re back where you belong, MC” Soryu smiled, stroking soft MC’s hair.
“Thank you Soryu… and I need to tell you something”
Soryu nodded looking at the back of MC’s head as she sat leaning back against his chest.
“The truth is… I’ve had these strange feelings about you for a very, very, long time but it wasn’t until I left and you came to the café and told me how you felt that I truly understood what these feelings were. The truth is, Soryu… I’m in love with you, too. You make my heart race, I enjoy our conversations about things we both like. But most importantly, I enjoy being with you.”
“MC…”
“I love you, Soryu…”
“I love you, too!” Soryu exclaimed, crushing MC to his chest.
Overcome with emotion, Soryu lifted MC into his arms turning her to face him. His hands took her cheeks between them, and guided her lips to his. Their first kiss was soft, and gentle.
But it took no time, before they were overcome with passion, and their kiss deepened. The emotions he had been holding back all these years, Soryu finally placed in those kisses. That tame first kiss, soon became deep, intense kisses. If they were to signify anything, it was that a long, steamy night was ahead.
**
When Soryu woke the following morning, he smiled. In his arms he held the still sleeping MC. Relief flooded him. It hadn’t been a dream. She really had returned to them. To him. The woman he had adored from afar for the last few years, was finally his.
The cold mobster had found the one woman who could bring out his soft side. And now he had her, he was certain, he would never be letting her go.

Acts that make it obvious that they are married (Toshiaki Kijima & Kuranosuke Kiba x MCs) (Shorts)
Toshiaki Kijima x MC
Even before Mr. Tachibana could present the team to the client, they understood there was a couple. How? Pretty simple and very sweet. MC barely made it in time because she had to come after another meeting outside the office. Loudly breathing and with strands of hair glued to her forehead, she carelessly sat at the corner of the table near her husband. Kijima, without even looking at his splendid wife, put his hand in the sharp corner to prevent MC from hurting herself. A smile appeared on Shun and the client's faces, the only ones able to see what had happened.
Ten minutes later, while Mr. Kijima asked for a few details about the project, MC's pencil fell on the ground. With the same casual move, Toshiaki again protected MC's head from hitting the corner by covering it with his palm while she bent to take the pencil back. Before the client answered his questions, curiosity took over them:
"Can I ask you if you two are together?"
Mr. Kijima looked at MC, that looked back at her husband.
"We are married," finally answered the executive. "How did you understand?"
The client didn't say a thing. They just put their palm on the nearest corner of the table, which made both Kijima blush.
Kuranosuke Kiba x MC
Kuranosuke raised a brow at his colleague from another department who entered the office, looked at everyone for five seconds, and left. Rolling his eyes, he chose to let his kind and helpful side out:
"Do you need anything?" The Blizzard asked in the least kind way possible.
The victim of his sharp eyes pointed a finger at themselves and, after seeing the man nod, finally answered: "I just needed MC. But if she is away, I can come later."
Kiba looked at his wife's place for a moment and continued with his kind persona: "You can wait here for her. She's not far away and for a long time. As you can see, her phone is on the table. Usually, she takes her phone with her, but today she is wearing something that doesn't have pockets, except for the blazer that's now on the chair. I made her a coffee half an hour ago. So, most probably, she's in the restroom."
Mamoru had to bite his tongue not to comment about "his superior's love life" again. The waiting colleague started to relax. Yet, the most animated reaction was MC's, who happened to hear everything on her way back from the restroom. For the rest of the day, Kuranosuke had to stop himself from rolling his eyes every time he saw his grinning wife.

Yandere bidders x mc!
Thank you for sending a request! I’m no expert on yanderes but I’ll try my best!
Warnings: just some yandere stuff like isolation, threats, stalking, and some mentions of harm
_______________________________________
Eisuke
He’s already super possessive of you but as a yandere he’s like 100x worse
Makes you stay at the penthouse all the time
Only time you’re allowed outside is with him
A man talks to you? He threatens them to back off (probably would use Soryu to scare him)
If you go out with his permission, he would punish you in bed
I think he would harm you but only during you know-
Probably like bad hickeys or grabbing you too roughly
Soryu
He’s super protective of you since his life is so dangerous
Probably has Inui and Samejima guard you when he’s not around (they’re not allowed to interact with you tho)
Less harsher than Eisuke but still tries to keep you near him at all times
If someone tried flirting with you, he’d probably hurt them or kill them
Is still super loving, but he’s also too obsessed
At home, he’d probably try to be in each room you’re in
Still the same Soryu, but would DEFINITELY kill anyone who gets too near
Baba
Like Soryu, very loving and worshipping
Tries to spend a lot of time with you as possible
Is probably too possessive that she can’t even be near the bidders themselves
He wouldn’t hurt you physically cuz he’s a gentleman
Romantic dates every day <3
Honestly just 100x more romantic so you feel loved as much as possible
Ota
Similar to Eisuke, you would probably be stuck in his room
Probably would actually chain you or something if pushed to that extreme
DEFINITELY doesn’t allow individual interaction with the other guys
Brings you to work to keep an eye on you sometimes
Can be loving, but would be aggressive if you make him mad enough
Mamoru
He would probably be the type to just keep an eye on you
If someone flirts with you, he would do some background info search and find them
Threatens to kill them if they get near you
Asks constantly if you still love him and if you would stay with him forever
Basically a stalker for you but still loves you no matter what

Just curious, but do the KBTBB guys use contraceptives?
I always put this question off because I was unsure and kinda forgot about this xturrxu
But now I have a definite answer! I'm not sure if all of them do, but I can confirm that they do mention contraceptives as MC in Mamoru's route uses them!

MC: Fuck. Oh wait!
Soryu: Not now, later babe
MC: I wasn't calling you!
Soryu: Then stop saying Oh!
MC: How am I supposed to stop saying Oh? You're the one with a stupid surname!
Soryu: It's gonna be your surname too!
MC: Are you proposing to me?
Soryu: YES! Will you?
MC: Yes! I will!
Bidders: What the fuck just happend?
@jxstaokiparadise your post gave me this idea and now the only way I now imagine Soryu proposing to MC

no thoughts just napping with mamo <3
mamo pulling you into his arms whenever you’re pacing around the room, shushing you and telling you to sleep it off
strongly believes that sleeping is the highest form of self care lmao
napping with mamo in the bidder’s penthouse, just nodding off on the couch while the other bidders look disgruntled by mamo’s obnoxious snoring
putting on a random documentary only to fall asleep to the sound of the narrator’s voice cuddled up to mamoru’s warmth
getting used to mamo’s sleeping habits and gaining the ability to fall asleep anywhere and any point. Your internal clock is fucked lol
straight up just falling asleep in the middle of the I.V.C auction because you’re bored and sleeping is more fun than watching rich people bid on things, making everyone but Mamoru panic thinking you’ve passed out because he knows it’s naptime
head empty, just nuzzling into mamoru’s chubby chest while his thick arms are wrapped around your waist, your hands resting on his jawline, thumbs absentmindedly caressing his prickly skin from where he needs to shave. mamo’s quiet sigh of content, pressing a chaste kiss to the top of your head before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep. you following him as you use his comfy body as a pillow. Eisuke crying and throwing up in the background because you’re still on his couch and won’t leave-

She Should Be With Me ~ Mamoru
Back again with the next story as part of this set! 😊😊
I've attached the post with the Prologue, in case anyone who reads this wants to read that part first! ⬇️⬇️
So far I have posted Eisuke's story, and now Mamoru's! 🤗
So this is...
Mamoru x MC
A story of jealousy and fluff
Disclaimer - Characters belong to Voltage Inc, story is my own idea.
⛔️Trigger Warning, brief mention of controlling behaviour.⛔️
~ 4438 words
Unbeknownst to the others in the room, Mamoru froze. His cigarette hung precariously from his fingertips, mid-air, halfway to his lips. Hearing MC declare she had moved in with her boyfriend broke him.
Feelings of jealousy sprouted in him. Irrational questions, such as ‘Could he arrest him?’ and ‘How to frame someone for a crime?’, popped into his head.
Alas, Mamoru knew this was not what his sweetheart would want. He had spent enough time with her by now to know she would not approve of him using such underhanded methods to win her heart.
Mamoru continued watching from the sofa as the other bidders fussed over MC and her news. He listened as they all whined and grumbled about her leaving. How if she wasn’t living at the hotel she wouldn’t be available when they needed her. Of course, Mamoru realised this wasn’t just their usual whims of coffee making and teasing. The others adored MC and her company as much as he did… well maybe not quite as much, but they certainly cared about her too.
Mamoru watched as MC squirmed under their questions. He noticed when her eyes briefly flitted his way, before swiftly leaving him again. Had he imagined the look she had given him? It had only been brief. Blink and you would have missed it. But he was sure he saw her looking for him. Seeking him out amongst the others. He also noticed how her cheeks had turned a tempting scarlet. She was beautiful, he thought.
Coming from such a regular family, at least in comparison to the other bidders, Mamoru had always desired his own family. A loving wife, children. Living together in their own cosy home. But being a detective, Mamoru didn’t dare to believe these dreams would come true. He had not believed he would ever find someone he would love so deeply.
Until… he met MC.
Mamoru could still recall the day MC officially came into their lives, not just working in the hotel. He would never forget that day… she had seemed so heroic for someone who had never experienced any sort of terror.
On that day, Mamoru had, unusually, been at the station tying up a couple of loose ends on a case he had been working when his phone had vibrated in his pocket. Thinking little of it, he nonchalantly glanced at the screen. Yet when he saw Eisuke had contacted him about an issue occurring at the hotel, the lazy detective immediately rushed to help.
When he arrived, the hotel had been bustling with screams and cries. The Ice Dragons, hotel staff and other bidders were trying to regain control of the situation. Mamoru sought out Eisuke to find out what was going on.
He learned a group of gunmen had shown up and started rounding guests and employees up as hostages. The bidders and staff were currently trying to calm over guests, encouraging them back to their rooms for safety.
It was then, they heard shots being fired and had turned in the direction of the sound. A couple of gunmen were trying to drag some more hostages away with them. Mamoru and the others were just about to rush over, when a lone maid stepped forward.
She appeared delicate. Someone who needed protecting. Yet she stepped forward. Stood firm. And she astonished Mamoru and the others when she declared herself the ultimate hostage.
Take her, and no others, and she would help them achieve what they wanted. She boldly lied about her worth as a hostage. Her claims she was in a higher position than she truly was, which would mean she was aware of finer details regarding the hotel, had magnified her appeal. Her voice never faltered. Mamoru watched in shock, when she met his gaze. She seemed to signal something to him.
It was in this moment, Mamoru noticed the depth in her eyes. At this most inappropriate time, Mamoru noticed the maid’s beauty. But it wasn’t just her outward beauty that had his gaze captured. It was her bravery. To step forward, for people she did not know, and offer herself… and still have the mental capability to signal him… well she was exceptional. Phenomenal. Unique.
When Mamoru had the men to finally go to her aid, MC had endured numerous beatings. She was cut and bruised. Blood coated her clothes. Yet when Mamoru arrived, she smiled at him. A smile which didn’t match the situation they found themselves in. All Mamoru could do was shake his head with a chuckle, a ‘You did good, Kid’ leaving his lips.
Having told Eisuke of her heroics, he declared he wanted to meet the brave maid who had helped save his hotel and guests. Who had prevented more hostages. So, he called her to the penthouse.
When she arrived, Mamoru had felt the butterflies in his stomach. She was a vision. The exact replica of the woman of his dreams. Beauty, smarts, bravery. She won Eisuke over with a coffee! she immediately got on with all of them, even Soryu who avoided women had taken a liking to her.
The truth is, Mamoru had fallen for this woman quickly. Over the next few years, he found himself falling deeper. MC was ever present in their lives. Since the incident, Eisuke welcomed her to visit them in the penthouse frequently, Ota used her as a model for his paintings, Baba had enlisted her as a taster for the dishes he made, Soryu enjoyed conversing about new detective novels with her.
While Mamoru, he had her help when he went on investigations and needed to blend in. Over the last few years she had played the part of his lover on many investigations. Doing so, allowed Mamoru to display his affections under the guise of acting. It made things easier, getting to play house and not have to hide his feelings for MC all the time.
The sound of MC trying to excuse herself from the barrel of questions coming her way pulled Mamoru from his memories. His eyes followed her figure as she walked towards the door. He noticed her eyes meet his as she walked by him. she offered him a little smile, tucking her hair behind her ear. Mamoru offered her a smile in return. A smile that fell the second the door closed behind her.
A chuckle grabbed Mamoru’s attention. Everyone was looking his way.
“What?” He huffered.
“When will you two just be honest with each other?” Eisuke asked.
“What d’ya mean?” Mamoru responded, lazily lounging back on the sofa.
“God Mamoru, it is so obvious. Say what you will, but it is clear as day you both want each other” Eisuke responded, uninterestedly but with a glint of mirth in his eyes.
Mamoru tensed. They had noticed his feelings? Yet the bigger surprise to him was their belief that his feelings were reciprocated? Surely not? MC wouldn’t move in with another man if she wanted him? Surely… Yet he couldn’t help but hope. Hope that some part of MC’s heart belonged with him.
***
A month had passed since MC had moved in with her boyfriend and been promoted. Everything had seemed to continue on as normal. Yet Mamoru noticed how MC had started to distance herself from them all slightly. Maintaining a more professional boundary with them all.
On this particular morning, it bothered him immensely. He had woken up and had just freshened up when MC knocked on his suite door. What followed was the strangest encounter they had ever had.
“Mornin’ Kid!” He waved her in lazily.
“Good morning Sir. I do hope it would not inconvenience you if I were to come tidy your suite now?” MC asked, offering Mamoru a polite bow. Mamoru was taken aback by her formal tone. Sir? She had never once called him Sir.
“MC? Everything ok?” He questioned, concerned by her change in behaviour.
“My apologies Mr Kishi, I shall try not to take up too much of your morning.” MC hurried off to begin cleaning the room.
MC had left as soon as she had finished, engaged in no general conversations, and had not looked him in the eye once. The encounter still nagged at him so he decided to try asking the others about it.
“Oh that? Don’t worry yourself too much, it’ll sort itself out sooner or later.” Eisuke replied nonchalantly, clearly not sharing in Mamoru’s concerns.
“Come on Boss, it clearly bothers him when she ignores him.” Baba chuckled.
“Fine. Her boyfriend didn’t like that she spent so much time with us. As soon as they moved in he set out some ground rules, and recently he seems to be tightening those rules up, adding new ones when something bothers him.” Eisuke, finally, gave Mamoru more of an answer.
“So, he’s controlling then…” Mamoru replied, trailing off. Suddenly he was rushing out the penthouse lounge.
***
A few hours later, and Mamoru bumped into MC who was on her lunch break. She sat alone. She stared aimlessly out the window. Her fork hanging mid-air, hovering above the plate. Mamoru immediately felt his body warm with love at the sight of her.
Quietly, he took the seat opposite her, set down his own lunch and simply began eating. It took a few moments, but when MC finally noticed his presence her eyes bulged.
“Mamo! What are you doing here?!” She muttered quietly, hoping to avoid catching the attention of those around them.
“Oh so ya do still remember my name! thought I would have lunch in here for a change” Mamoru replied, a smirk on his face.
“You never eat in here, what do you want?” MC argued.
“Ya been actin’ real strange lately. Worried me. Anyway, got a new assignment I need ya to come with me on.”
“Can’t”
“Why not?” Mamoru questioned. He knew full well why, he just wanted… no needed, to hear it from her lips.
“I just can’t, busy.” MC replied, digging into her lunch.
“I didn’t tell you when yet” Mamoru replied, smiling knowingly at her. She knew she had been caught out.
“Sigh… when is it?” MC relented. Mamoru was frustrated. Why wasn’t she just admitting to him why she was refusing first?
“Saturday night. We’ll be at a hotel. Bar, then head to a room next to the suspects.” He instructed.
“Got it.”
“Leave from the hotel at 6, or I can pick ya up from your place?”
“NO!” MC panicked, flustered. Suddenly her eyes went wide, and she quickly shot to her feet. “Uh… hotel is fine, I’ll be here for 6. See you later!”
“MC!” Mamoru called after her, but she was already scurrying away.
Soon Saturday evening arrived. MC had become quieter each day leading up to the investigation. She had appeared tired, wistful, and shaken. Still… she never told Mamoru anything. He had asked many times, each time she responded she was fine and that he didn’t need to worry. But he did.
As he waited outside the hotel, Mamoru puffed on his cigarette. As he exhaled the smoke he noticed MC walking towards him. His eyes drew to her like magnets. The cigarette which had been sitting firmly between two fingers fell to the ground. He felt his mouth go dry. She was gorgeous, he thought.
She was wearing a figure-hugging cocktail dress, with a pair of heels. Her hair had been curled and put up into a low messy bun. While her makeup highlighted her eyes.
Mamoru’s heart was racing. He pushed himself off the wall and hurried towards her.
“Beautiful as always” He whispered to her as his hand found purchase on her waist, allowing him to escort her towards their destination. He didn’t miss the way her cheeks blushed crimson as she thanked him.
In moments like these, Mamoru could treat his sweetheart how he wished he could always. He could compliment and marvel in her beauty, enjoy dinner, and her company, all the while protecting his own heart from the pain of rejection.
***
As the evening went by, the investigation went along smoothly. They received good information while sitting in the bar, and were now retreating to their hotel room.
The sound of MC’s phone vibrating for the nth time that evening, and the sight of her visibly tensing as she ignored the call, made Mamoru worry. Yet before he could even offer any words, MC shut him down with that beautiful smile of hers. Silently begging him not to probe any further.
After they arrived into the hotel room, Mamoru set to work setting up his surveillance equipment ready to listen in to the conversations between his suspect next door. He had just finished when MC approached him.
“I’m going to go shower” She said, placing her jewellery and phone on the dresser. Mamoru nodded once as she turned and left.
The sound of the shower running soon filled the quiet hotel room. Mamoru decided to use the time to change into something slightly comfier, ready for the long night ahead. Yet the buzzing of MC’s phone, once again, drew his attention.
Curiosity getting the better of him, he looked to see who was calling her. Mason. The name of her boyfriend appeared. As the call ended, Mamoru noticed all the notifications. 15 missed calls and 30 text messages… they had only been out 3 hours.
Just then, Mamoru noticed the sound of running water had stopped. He quickly moved away from MC’s phone and settled down on the window ledge, lighting a cigarette. Shortly after, MC emerged from the bathroom, clothed in only a bathrobe. The smell of her shampoo and body wash filled the room, offering a calming effect.
“Sorry I took so long, showers free” She smiled, as she settled onto the bed.
“Thanks! Oh by the way, your phone rang again while ya were showerin’ hope it wasn’t nothin’ important!” Mamoru said, testing her.
“Nah nothing” MC replied offering him a smile.
Still, she refused to confide in him about what was going on. Had he only imagined they were close? No. He wouldn’t let himself be convinced that they had been nothing, not even friends. Something was bothering her, she would tell him when the time was right.
But Mamoru was an impatient man. He had tried for the past month to respect her privacy. But knowing what he did, even her not being aware of him knowing, made it harder to remain quiet.
He silently approached MC as she sat on the bed, quietly staring down at her phone. He sat beside her. Took her phone from her hands. Turned it off. Then he simply looked at her. Encouraging her to confide in him.
“Hey Mamo, give me back my phone!” She moaned, reaching over him towards his side of the bed where her phone now sat.
Mamoru used this moment to capture her in an embrace. Shocked, MC froze, before she quietly settled into his embrace. Noticing her relenting, Mamoru finally broke the silence.
“Talk to me, MC. You know I will listen.” He spoke quietly, holding her tight. He wanted more than anything to share in her burdens.
MC audibly sighed. It was almost comical how large a sigh she had given. Finally, she spoke.
“It’s Mason… he doesn’t like me being around you guys. Especially with you. He never moaned about it before we moved in together, but now everything is an issue. He doesn’t like me seeing Eisuke to make him coffee, because Eisuke has a reputation for his groupies and Mason in convinced I must be one of them otherwise why else would he want to see a mere maid like me. He doesn’t like Ota painting me, because why would anyone want an image of me on their wall. He doesn’t like Baba cooking for me, because he flirts with everyone so he doesn’t need me. He doesn’t like Soryu acknowledging me, because since I’m the only female ever seen around him something must be going on. And he hates me spending anytime with you…” MC fell silent, not finishing her point.
“Why? Why doesn’t he like you spendin’ time with me?” Mamoru questioned, watching her carefully.
“Uhh long story…” MC replied, a blush coating her cheeks. Mamoru was sure he wasn’t imagining it.
“We have all night” He said, smiling at MC. The blush on her face deepened.
“Oh god… Mamo its embarrassing enough, don’t make me tell you.” She pleaded.
“Tell me, MC. Please.” It was Mamoru’s turn to plead now. MC sighed. She casted her eyes down.
“A couple of years ago, me and Mason went on a break. It was about a year after the incident at the hotel, you know when we met. I told him I needed some space. Sort my head out.”
“Why?”
“I had started to develop feelings for someone else… and well my head was a mess and so we split up. The break lasted for a couple of months. Honestly, I thought it was over for good. But then, well something happened to Mason and we got back together so I could support him through it. Since then though, he’s been jealous when I was around said person.”
“Said person… is that me?” Mamoru asked, hopeful in that his feelings had not been one sided.
“Urghh Mamoru don’t be so inconsiderate! Obviously, it was you!” MC responded, blushing furiously and hiding her face into his chest.
Mamoru felt the smile form on his chest. He hugged her slightly tighter.
“So, uh, why does it bother him now… if this was a couple of years ago? You’ve moved in together now too?”
“Oh uh… yeah that’s an even longer story…” MC huffed, “The truth is, I had told him a few months ago I didn’t want move in with him. We had just got back from that investigation about the Blue Jay’s smuggling ring, remember? Well, after that Mason and I were arguing. He mentioned you, and well I lost it. I mean how dare he bring you into our issues. Y’know? When he asked me if I was still in love with you, and if that was why I really didn’t want to live together I froze. And then stormed out.”
MC still avoided looking at Mamoru. He couldn’t help but wonder. Why hadn’t she just said no to her boyfriend? Unless… did she still love him?
“So… what is the answer to that?” Mamoru asked in barely a whisper.
“W-what?” MC asked startled, looking up suddenly.
Their eyes met. Held. Who knew how long had passed with neither looking away, neither speaking a word. Who made the first move? Was it Mamoru threading a hand into her hair, caressing her cheeks with his thumbs? Or was it MC and her fingers curling in his shirt? Neither could be sure. But what came next, neither could deny.
Their eyes, which had held one another close, soon closed. Their lips which had been but a hair breadth away, met. The kiss, was soft. Tantalisingly slow.
A warmth spread itself through Mamoru. The kiss was everything he had desired for so long, yet it wasn’t enough. The delicate kiss, did not sate the desire he had long held for her.
As MC pulled away slightly, her eyes fluttered open and met Mamoru’s. However, it wasn’t long before their lips crashed together, in a fiery, all-consuming, deep kiss. One that signified the passion which had been building between them for the last few years. It was electrifying and Mamoru could feel his need for MC intensifying as their kiss continued.
Yet as he reached out for her, she suddenly froze. Her eyes shot opened, a horrified look on her face, before she shoved Mamoru away and grabbed her clothing. Dressing in a hurry, Mamoru watched on in confusion.
“MC? What are you doing?” He asked. Still rushing about getting changed MC hurried towards the door.
“Leaving!” she replied, swinging the door open and racing through it.
“MC!” Mamoru shouted behind her.
But she didn’t turn around. Mamoru couldn’t leave the hotel, he was in the middle of a surveillance operation. No matter how much he wanted to chase after her, he couldn’t. Slumping back onto the bed, his hand naturally touched his lips. The heat from their kiss, still lingered.
***
A few weeks had passed since the end of that operation when MC had run out on Mamoru after their kiss. She had practically disappeared from his life since too. She hadn’t been to work since. She hadn’t responded to any of their messages either.
It wasn’t just Mamoru who was growing concerned in her absence. Eisuke sighed as he put down his phone, his call going unanswered once again.
“I don’t understand where she is gone?” Eisuke muttered, “And why is she ignoring our calls?”
“She isn’t responding to any of us…” Mamoru responded. His heart hurt with worry.
“Kenzaki couldn’t even get in touch with her” Eisuke stated, while staring at the phone in his hand.
Mamoru was even more concerned now. She wasn’t showing up to work. She was ignoring calls from her friends and employers. What could have happened to her?
The ignored phone calls, missing shifts and torment of not knowing where she had gone continued for another week. Every day the bidders got together to discuss what they would do next if MC did not return by the end of the week. They would share their updates from their own mini investigations too.
None had managed to find any clue as to where she had gone. Mamoru was growing more concerned and impatient by the day. All hope seemed to be lost. Until… MC walked through the hotel doors one morning, along with a large bag.
Mamoru had been talking to Eisuke in the lobby when they saw MC entering the hotel. They raced over to her, relief finally settling in at seeing her safe and unharmed. Noticing them, MC offered them a cordial smile.
“MC where have you been?” Eisuke asked, as Mamoru grabbed her arms, checking her over for any injuries. Letting her go, as seen as he confirmed for himself she was ok.
“Uhh, long story?” MC smiled trying to worm her way out of explaining.
“It’s been 3 weeks, you’ve ignored all our attempts to contact you. No way are you getting out of explaining this one!” Mamoru responded, somewhat forcefully.
Nodding once, MC followed the two men as they headed up to the penthouse lounge. When they entered, MC placed her bag down and immediately set about making coffee for them all. The usual routine falling back into place.
“So?” Eisuke asked after sipping his coffee.
“Well… I had something I needed to sort out. It took a little longer than expected. I stayed with my parents while I was sorting it out. I’m sorry for ignoring your calls, I needed to sort everything out and while it wasn’t sorted I didn’t feel I could really face you guys…” MC spoke quietly.
“So tell us now. I assume the bag has something to do with it?” Mamoru asked.
“Ok…” MC sighed, “I ended things with Mason. For good this time. I moved out and headed to my parents and stayed with them while we sorted out all the legal crap from moving in together”
“You broke up?!” Mamoru reacted. His heart trembling and filling with a slight hope.
“Why did you break up?” Eisuke asked. He already had an incline it would be to do with Mamoru but he didn’t want to announce his assumption.
“Well… the truth is… on the night I was helping Mamo out, he asked me a question.” MC now faced, Mamoru, “You asked me a question, one that at the time I didn’t answer in words. But my actions that night spoke volumes. I knew then I couldn’t keep living with or being with Mason. It wasn’t fair on either of us. He was right to be worried of my feelings, but it wasn’t right that he was controlling me. it was better for both of us, to split up.”
“So it’s over?” Mamoru asked nervously, not wanting to get his hopes up too much.
“Yes…” MC responded.
“Because you want to be with Mamoru?” Eisuke asked, smirking.
“Yes…” MC whispered, her eyes going wide when she realised what she had just admitted. Before she could correct herself, Eisuke shooed them both off to Mamoru’s room to finish their discussion.
***
When they returned to Mamoru’s suite, MC made them both coffee and sound beside him on the sofa. A peaceful silence ensued.
MC’s scent, her shampoo, body wash and perfume, filled the room. It brought him peace. She was finally back. Yet that peace did not last long. Mamoru recalled how MC had practically confessed her feelings for him to Eisuke moments earlier, and he suddenly sat bolt upright.
MC was startled by the sudden movement, almost spilling her coffee in the process.
“Jeez Mamo, careful I could have burned myself!” she berated him. But Mamoru didn’t care. he was over the moon. And now they were alone he was going to get her to confess properly and then finally tell her how he felt too.
“MC… tell me the truth now… how do you feel about me?” His hand had cupped her cheek, he rested his forehead gently against hers, looking into her eyes as he pleaded his sweetheart to share her heart with him.
“Mamo… I-I… I love you” She smiled at him, tears brimming in her eyes.
“I love you too, sweetheart” Mamoru responded, before slamming his lips into hers. Crushing her in a tight embrace.
Hearing his sweetheart finally tell him the words he had longed to hear, felt surreal. He bundled her up into his arms and carried her into his bedroom. His lips never leaving hers.
As he led her gently on his bed, he pulled away, tearing his top from his body. Letting his lips meet hers once again. In this moment, everything he had desired was finally coming true.
He had the woman of his dreams, laid bare before him. She had confessed she loved him. Finally, that picture perfect regular life he had imagined, one that seemed beyond him, was finally in reach.
And he was going to grab it. Hold it close, and ensure it came true.
Starting with a long night, cherishing the one he loved most. The one he could finally call his.
His sweetheart.
