was tagged by @glitchinginthegarden for a wip wednesday (ty for the tag!)

i have a silly cinematic planned but i haven't mustered the energy to check everyone's ref, hence why takemura here looks Like That (i can barely remember how he look like i just remember sad hungry japanese man with a manbun). also an oc ask on discord asked what your v's would do if they weren't mercs and i answered lil v would be a zookeeper with a side hustle as a podcaster who talks about space facts and alien sighting stories, and the more i thought of it the more i go :')) i had to try and draw it.

here's a lil something that i dont wanna continue on cus it only works if johnny got his body back which im not particularly a big fan of but man oh man

writing wise i got nothing baws here's something i did for warmup but prolly not gonna make into anything either

I was not expecting that voice. I like that it's not a generic villain voice, but IMO it doesn't fit.

Thoughts on the whole shebang so far:

Great chemistry between Johnny/Kenshi and Raiden/Kung Lao.

So far my favorite part is all the facial expressions. They have genuine artistic merit IMO.

To say Outworld is multicultural is an understatement. It's not just China and Japan anymore, at bare minimum I saw Thailand and South Africa too.

Sindel is fucking dope, oh my god.

please let Kitana say stuff okay, she's been a good girl carrying Mileena's purse around for her

Reiko didn't appeal all that much to me as a character, and worse, he makes the manbun look like shit.

AKA Johnny Silverbun or Manbun Johnny

First mod release on here! If you’ve ever wanted to get Johnny’s luscious locks out of his face or just want a change of pace for your brain ghost, this might be for you! Does what it says on the tin: this mod replaces Johnny’s usual hair with a messy bun. It comes in two versions:

basegame_JohnnyManbunVer1.archive: The short style pictured in the first row of preview pics. 

basegame_JohnnyManbunVer1Long.archive: As pictured in the second row of preview pics, this is essentially the same bun, but it’s more of a half-up style. 

You can only use one at a time, of course. As with all mods, the mod file of your choice goes in your Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/patch folder. If you don’t have a patch folder, just go ahead and make one. As of Patch 1.2 your mods should go in the mod folder: Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/mod. If you don’t have one, you can make one. If you’ve got a patch folder, you can just rename that and go from there!

The plan had been—originally—to just get tipsy. Just tipsy enough to get through the dinner without a headache forming. But John was charismatic in his annoying, lawyer way, and she had done three more shots than she had planned. Four. Five. What-fucking-ever. Point was, Jude was drunk.

Not even just drunk. Trashed. Sloshed. Off her tits.

The vodka had gone down smooth. More expensive than anything she had ever had before. Probably worth more than a single paycheck. Thrown back, shot after shot, as if she were back in college. Even included a man who talked too much that she could barely tolerate. It was nostalgic, in a way. Just the worst way possible, really, with John's stupid stainless steel appliances and Jacob's stupid voice carrying over from the other room and that itch beneath her skin of you're not here not real none of this is real you're not real you're dead you're dead you're dead—

So. Here she was, far too drunk off far too expensive vodka in a far too big house, shoved into a spare room in a futile attempt to hide the fact she was trashed from Joseph. John was good at feigning innocence, and contrary to his pleading and begging, Jude was not going to rat him out. Ruining John and Joseph's relationship, while it could lead to being funny, was not on her agenda. She saw him die for Joseph once. John could be allowed some freedoms, like getting drunk with her at 6pm on a Sunday. A holy day.

Whatever. She was a bad influence, blah blah blah.

So John was downstairs doing his lawyer thing. Stomach bug, came on sudden, she had to lie down. She was gonna ask in a week’s time if lying was a sin, just to see the tic in his jaw. It's not like any of it worked, anyway. That manbunned little bitch was her own personal heater at the moment, pushing his fingers through her hair. He had tracked her down within the minute, and years of being a teenager around her mother had taught Jude that she was not a good sober-drunk. She hadn't even tried. Just pulled him onto the bed and curled up to him and tried not to puke. It was working so far, but if he stopped petting her hair all bets were off.

It was these moments. The quiet moments where nothing existed but them. She knew, she knew she knew that Joseph was mad. She could tell in the way he tensed when she grabbed his wrist, the way his breathing was too slow, to keep his anger at bay. His wrath. But she didn't care, because this was real, the fingers in her hair proved it. It proved it.

"You're real." She slurred. He hummed in agreement, his chest vibrating beneath her head. Real real real. That was real and he was real and she was real. "Stop bein' sooo mad. So stupid. You're," A wave of dizziness caused her to gag. Breathe in, breathe out. "You're soooo stupid."

"I'm stupid?" he murmured, all soft and gentle and she wanted to stab him, just a little. She settled for pressing her thumb into his kidney.

"Stupid. Don't be mad at John. Or me. But not John." The stretch of silence was response enough. "Told him if— he didn't gimmie I'd. Turn you 'gainst him." A lie, and a bad one.

"He shouldn't have had the alcohol in the first place, Jude."

"Bah." She scoffed into his chest. "Helped us bond. Juus' like you wan'ed. Johnny's my friend now." So far from the truth it was laughable, but an understanding of sorts was reached. At least the start of an understanding. "Stop bein' g'mad. Stupid. You're so..."

"Stupid." Joseph sounded amused now. Jude could picture a stupid smile on his face. Stupid. He was so stupid, she hated him. "You've mentioned."

Jude nodded, closing her eyes, but after a beat she opened them to look up at him. The angel was unflattering; she wanted to call him ugly. Old. A bitch. It was on the tip of her tongue. But alcohol made her soft, and stupid. Her hand left his hip to poke through his beard. "M'feel like I'm stupid too. You— yoouu tainted. Me. Made me dumb."

"Stupid," he corrected.

"No. You're— you're stupid. Mmmdumb." His nails scratched at her scalp, making her eyes flutter. "Made me soooo dumb. So stupid. You. Ruined everythiiing. All. I hate you."

"You hate me?" He didn't even try to sound sad, the bastard.

"I hate you. Worst— you suck. But— fuckin'." Jude groaned, buried her head into his side so she could stop fucking looking at him. "You ruined me."

There was silence. Long ago, long before Joseph, it would've made her uncomfortable. She would've tried to fill it with anything, just so that awkwardness wouldn't linger. But she knew Joseph, knew him so well it made her sick, and any silence with him— no matter how volatile, how hostile— she knew him. It was never uncomfortable.

He had ruined her.

"If you could go back to where you have never met me," Joseph breathed, long and heavy, "would you do it?"

Yes. Yes yes yes in a heartbeat yes. The scenario that played in her dreams. Her escape from him, from everything that had to do with him. All of him. Yes. Yes.

"No."

And that said more than words could.
