I have no idea how long it’s been since i updated because I’d either forget to update or take photos. But, besides that, I think it’s coming along really well and thankfully almost done.

I’ll post a photo of me wearing it once I’ve got the visor in place. I’m also starting to think of color/pattern ideas and I’m currently looking for suggestions if anyone has any.

I’ll post all the photos and sketches/drawings I’ve made throughout the process once I’ve finished the helmet so everyone can see the project and it’s process in case they want to make one!

I have so much sanding to do…

YALL I GOT AN UPDATE

This whole thing actually was supposed to become Cpt. Rex’s phase II helmet before I realized how freaking complicated it is. While I really want to make his helmet one day, it’s not today.

After realizing that that was two hard I tried his phase I helmet but that was also very difficult. This entire thing has been one huge experiment for me. I’ve never made anything like this and cardboard definitely isn’t the best material to use lol. I’m having fun with it though!

Eventually I did somewhat base it off of my own Mandalorian OC but even then, the sketches are different from the drawing of my still unnamed OC. I really got to give her a name soon but nothing I find seems right.

I’m currently working on smoothing the helmet’s dome with modeling paste but other than that the only other thing I have completed is the fin that I made for the Phase I helmet. I’m still gonna use that though because I like how it came out. Hopefully I can finish this part a lot faster and give you guys another update!

Also I’m think of making a tag list for updates if anyone is interested!

Haven’t really made a whole lot of progress on the helmet since I kept redesigning it, but I’ve finished making the bucket part and will plan to keep updating more soon.

For now, here’s a drawing of my unfinished OC. I don’t have a name for her right now, but I’m working on some background for her. If anyone has suggestions for names it would be greatly appreciated!

The Mantutorial: Part 1 - Armor

I asked and people seemed interested, so here's a breakdown of Din's armor!

Please note that not all of this is 100% screen accurate and comes mainly from my own experience drawing him and cosplay experience! So keep that in mind.

I tried to get multiple angles on the more complicated stuff, like the chest plate and the gauntlet, cause those are the ones I personally find most difficult! But other than that, I cannot recommend using 3D references enough! Specifically I use this model and this whenever I draw Din and used them a lot for this tutorial. You can spin him around right on the webpage so you don't need to download software or anything!

Other than that I really recommend just drawing him a lot, from lots of angles! That's the best way to get comfortable with drawing this funny tin guy.

Depending on the response, I might do another reference for the soft bits/extra armor/belts! Just lmk on here or in the tags if you're interested. Oh and also one for Boba or Paz!
