The Yandere Angel is obsessed with a good-natured succubus (Oneshot)
Created by: aironiro
Genre: Smut
This one was really difficult to word properly and I'm not really sure why. It's not because of the angel and demon words that I don't know it's just kind of weirdly translated. That might be on my end because I finished this one while I was still sick. Hopefully it makes enough sense that it's still enjoyable though, I did like the backstory that the yandere had in this one. It's pretty interesting. If you are interested in a sequel, please donate to kofi.com/lovesicktranslation to fund it.
The story starts out with Lilith being recognized by her fellow succubus, Meribel, who hasn't seen her since the French Revolution. Meribel talks about how there's a corrupted angel attacking people, including the reaper, Yvette. While talking, Meribel is threatened by Cyril, the corrupted angel she was talking about, and Lilith is able to shoo her away. We see that Cyril has been chasing after Lilith for a while, to the point of attacking other Reaper. Cyril asks to have sex with Lilith, which she accepts because she it's kind of her nature, but is basically overwhelmed by it, something that she is confused and horrified by as Cyril ravishes her body. She passes out and recalls her first encounter with him, having gone to an orphanage to corrupt a priest, only to meet Cyril as a child. Cyril seems to be bullied at the orphanage, and Lilith defends him from spirits that want to take his pure soul away. She talks to him a bit, about how she's actually quite fond of humans. She remarks that because his soul is so pure, he will likely become an angel, and that the two will never meet again, and that even if they did, she would eat him. Lilith ends up waking up at her human friend Akari's place after having passed out. She's worried that Cyril might attack Akari and gets a note from Cyril on where to meet. Cyril upon meeting Lilith again, apologizes for what he's done, and states that he wants to be corrupted so that he can be with Lilith again. The two have sex again, and apparently the reason why Lilith feels so good while having sex with Cyril is because it's a taste of true love (?) something that succubus don't taste as they usually charm the people they're targeting. After all that, Lilith takes a liking to Cyril, even planning to allow him to meet and sort of make sure that he doesn't cause any problems.
I'm not super used to oneshot yandere smut splitting up the actual sex part into two sections, but this one does do that and it kept on throwing me for a loop while I was translating. Personally, I think the idea of a succubus feeling intense pleasure when they are actually loved seems kind of stupid, since I feel like there are people who do fall in love at first sight, so a succubus should be used to that type of feeling, or at least have experienced it once before. The lore of the angels and devils aren't made that clear in this story, which might be because this is part of a second series, with the first one introducing Togo and Akari. I guess it doesn't really need to be because it's a smut, but it does leave a lot to be desired. The most interesting part for me is the backstory, since we do get to see how and why Cyril became so obsessed with tracking her down, even if there is seemingly a weird age gap between them since I believe Lilith would have been around 200 years old when meeting Cyril who died at age 14 according to the end profiles (which is never mentioned at all in the story but alright).
Cyril as a yandere is pretty obsessive, having basically ignored the orders of god so much that his halo and wings ended up getting corrupted just so that he could track down Lilith, and even ended up attacking and wounding Yvette (who supposedly is difficult to kill) and nearly hurting Meribel had Lilith not stepped into saving him. He also seemed to have kept his virginity up to this point. I mean I am sort of glad they have a reason to why Cyril a virgin is able to make Lilith a succubus feel good, but it's still pretty stupid in my opinion. I still don't really get why Lilith ends up keeping Cyril at the end, but I guess it's better than letting a yandere angel run around for a bit. Always cool to see a yandere angel though since that's not something you'd normally see in this scenario. Yandere demons seem to be more common and for good reason.
Anyways, hopefully you enjoy this oneshot. The artwork in it is pretty loose so I could get away with the cleaning easier. The fonts kind of irked me because the original Chinese I was basing it off of uses way too many different fonts.

Hi there! Me and my friend are looking for a thai BL to watch, but we have no idea where to start. Do you have any recommendations? We both like things that are more fluffy and sweet rather than angsty. Thanks!
Hi hi!! WELCOME!
Fluffy Sweet Soft Thai BL
Comfort babies! Low angst very gentle BL recommendations list (don’t worry, they won’t hurt you)
Tumblr media
Oxygen (YouTube) - softest seme in the universe sings his affection to the older boy at the cafe. Let the slow burn courting commence. There is a tiny bit of angst at the end, and one storyline is naff (the doctors) but this is high production Thai softness so I forgive it. There are some who find it too slow and stiff, tho.
Tumblr media
2gether & Still 2gether (YouTube) - this show is ABSURD. But if you can suspend your disbelief and get through the first few episodes it is delightful to watch Sarawat pine after Tine and the levels to which Tine will go to remain willfully oblivious. Just ridiculous.
Tumblr media
Ingredients (YouTube) - if all you want is two soft boys being domestic, cooking together, cuddling on the couch, cat sitting, and babysitting - just put this on and be comfy. It’s a lockdown project and the ending is amorphous but we all know they will end up together. AKA “the emotion support connivence store advertisement”
Tumblr media
Love By Chance (YouTube? Viki) - AePete’s meet cute is one of the best ever put on screen! They are just so genuine and soft with each other, its hard not to love them from the first moment. Many of the side couples are... difficult, but you can’t fault the leads. They will remain in your heart a really long time. Now there is some  abusive ex action, but it’s victoriously dealt with by our tiny crass love muffin hero.
Tumblr media
Love Stage!! (YouTube) - This BL surprised me with its charm. The acting was good, the leads were appealing, support cast on point, and the production values high. It followed the original manga story arc relatively closely: boy falls in love with girl as a child, grows up to discover girl is actually a very pretty boy. Although there are some quintessentially Thai changes that mellowed, softened, and extended the romance arc. One of the things I’ve always appreciated about this story is that the climax is about coming out as a celebrity couple as well as gay. I like the examination of the nature of celebrity versus privacy, and the contrasting kinds of closets. And I love that they depicted two couples with two different versions of this choice. A solid and enjoyable show.
Tumblr media
Nitiman (unknown, but might now be on YT) - This Thai BL pulp had sympathetic characters, a solid tsundere uke redemption arc, and a fantastic pining seme who yearned without bullying, grooming, or gaslighting. Plus when they were together, they were ridiculously soft. But it also had a realistic portrayal of university life, bisexual awakening, and friendship groups. Ending is okay but a victim of lockdown.
Tumblr media
Puppy Honey 1 & 2 (YouTube) - BL sub plot and then BL shared lead. This is the origin of OffGun but they are only a side couple in a het romcom. Unlike PeteKao and the Kiss series, GMMTV has never cut out a BL version because in the first season the two story arcs are inexorably linked. So you gotta watch both, which is a buy in. But I think it's worth it. PickRome are STILL my absolute favorite OffGun pair. Pick is the poster child for tsundere seme (Off’s part in all their series) and Gun the best boy self actualized out gay uke who is not afraid of asking for what he wants. It has some early BL growing pains around chemistry, but no problematic tropes and together they two are oddly soft, in its own way it is a CLASSIC.
Tumblr media
En of Love: Tossera (YouTube) - younger boy wants to court older boy and does and… that’s it. No really that’s the WHOLE STORY. There is actually no angst, drama, or, indeed plot. But are they the softest bois ever to BL as a main couple? Yes they are.
Tumblr media
My Ride (GaGa) - Thai BL grew up with this pulp - a truly lovely and special little show featuring the extremely rare pairing of sunshine/sunshine AKA a cinnamon roll couple. Mature explorations of relationships using one of the softest, sweetest and most innocent friends to lovers vehicles. Kindly, overworked doctor meets broken-hearted motorcycle taxi driver in an “other side of the tracks” slow burn romance. The support cast is excellent, making for great friendship groups and family dynamics. With honest queer rep that adds to, but doesn’t impede the story, and genuine conversation about the nature of class, wealth, and classism, not to mention communication, honesty, and respect for boundaries, you can’t go wrong with this show. In other news, I am a sucker for a single dimple. Full review.
Tumblr media
La Cuisine (GaGa) - sweet and kind of pure show, and like Thai desserts perhaps requires too much patience for a layperson. Because of the pacing and the focus on the bad girl character, I did dock it. But if you like stuff in the Oxygen vein, then this show is for you, and far better than most Thai BL pulps. That said, I suspect that I enjoyed it more than many would. Full review.
I have a few more blog lists that might be what you are looking for:
Top 10 Cutest BLs (cheerful upbeat)
Top 10 Most Romantic BLs for Valentine’s Day
GENTLE & Soft BL
But these are mixed country of origin, not just Thai. So you’ll see soem of the same recs but also quite  few from Korea, Vietnam, and Japan.
list current as of may 2022

Semi-Obscure Media Whump (part 1)
[A Series of me finding whump scenes from a not well known media]
Name: Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii
Score: 2/5
Would only recommend this for the character whump. The whole story (which has an actually interesting setting, commentary, and characters)  is ruined for me by the relationship between the 2 main leads. Although the ML age is appropriate for the narrative of the story, the romance with the Fl just feels so weird and borderline illegal? The ML is about 11/12 years old and FL (although never specifically stated) is somewhere in the range of 16-18. Although the story is SFW, their relationship is still so weirdly grown up (?). Which is yeah, the ML supposed to represent a child who had to grow up too fast and lost the ability to appreciate the world and became too jaded from the horrors of violence and hardship, buuuut…. For me, the story would have worked with a younger brother- older sister platonic relationship and not just because I am AroAce. Other characters Also, a later chapter contains attempted SA (between the LF and a later side antagonist), so read at your own risk, but this was not something I greatly enjoyed.
Character: Neil
A butler character who is really loyal to the ML and has a somewhat fatherly/older brother relationship with the ML.
Tumblr media
Chapter: 79 (page 22-end)- 80 (whole chapter)
Whump: Getting sick/Overworking/collapsing/worried friends/taken care of/scars reveal (on the back)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter: 110 (beginning to end)
Whump: Shielding someone/nicked with a knife/fighting/self sacrifice/worried friends/presumed dead/rescued (in later chapters)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is an anime for this manga, but it only covers like the first arc (?), so it sadly doesn't include any of this whump.
Additionally: He also has some emotional and physical whump in his backstoy- comes right after this chapter.

I'm alive and did a thing!
youtube
So I'm starting a YouTube series called Sketchy Recommendations where I will sketch (usually about the thing I'm recommending but putting my own little spin on it) and talk about an anime/manga or even light novel, comic, cartoon etc. Just basically stuff I highly enjoyed in the many years of consuming works of fiction.
Maybe I'll help bring a light on some not so well known series for others to give a try. The recommendations will be short, basically spoiler free all the info I give about plot is basically what you would find out right at the beginning or in a blur.

I'm not a fan of ASOIAF, but if you were one of people pulled in for it's... "Realism", might I recomend Water margin?
I should preface that I'm not chinese and I'm not that far into the story yet. But everytime I hear something of ASOIAF, I find myself thinking of Water Margin and what I've heard of it. So wanted to share it.
水滸傳 is a 14th - 15th centuary novel set in Northern Song dynasty China around 1120. It's about a band of brigands, the murderous scum of society, struggling to do the right thing in the face of the law and the greys of morality between good and evil. The first half of the story deals with how each of the main players came to their life of banditry, each character per chapter, before developing into a sort of war drama with strategy and action. During it's time of writing, martial arts and kung-fu really started kicking off so there's a lot action scenes intermixed with tragedy and drama. It was written with realism in mind which is why it has some heavy scenes and was banned for some time period. That's also why it was a big hit in lower class Sengoku Japan, where it's known as Suikoden. It's legacy is still strongly felt in Japan's cultural entertainment tropes such as shouting attack names. There's no monsters (i know of) but there are curses, demons and super-human feats.
Since the source deals with several heavy topics and was written in a time of increasing conservatism I also recomend reading a list of trigger warings before you watch or read it if you can find one.
If you can't find a copy, the 1998 live action adaptation is generally the one chinese audiences reccomend (WARNING: there is some hardcore REAL LIFE animal cruelty and hunting in the show, PLEASE be aware of that before you watch). Otherwise there is a 2011 adaptation, a 1978 movie adaptation and several animated adaptations of the japanese variations of the story. I also recomend 'Cool History Bros' animated recaps of the story since he walks through the cultural differences for a western audience.
Here's also the free original text from the Chinese wikisource.

I’ve got some friends coming over next weekend and they have never seen a single BL but want to watch an episode… I’d like to show them a Thai BL but it will have to be only the first episode (unless they get sucked in, ha ha!)
What do you think would be a good first episode - I’m thinking maybe Bad Buddy, 2gether or Cutie Pie?
Good First Episode Thai BLs - for non-BL watchers
Hum well I don't know your friends and their taste, that makes a difference. Are they geeky? Are they more mainstream romance types?
Recommending a BL is like recommending a book outside of someone’s preferred reading genre, you gotta give them an entry point. Pick the BL that suits their existing taste the most. So if they like suspense/crime thrillers then Not Me, 3 Will Be Free, Long Time No See, or Manner of Death. That kind of thing.
But, first off...
Do not do 2gether. Green’s shrieking and the companion serious punching down humor of those first eps make this show a really really hard buy in. It’s ANNOYING AF. I know because it took me 3 tries to make it through the first 1/3 of that show, and I LIKE BL.
Cutie Pie has SUCH an absurd premise than unless your friends are fans of classic romance with strong tropes, maybe not that one either.
Tumblr media
Ones that I Suggest - based on first episode ALONE
honestly first eps are not Thai BLs strong point, sigh, so I struggled with this one
Bad Buddy - I was skeptical going in and absolutely instantly sold on the first ep. I think this is probubly my top choice.
Love By Chance - AePete’s meet cute is one of the best ever put on screen, but there is Pond and the masterbation, but also AEPETE! They are just so genuine and soft with each other, its hard not to love them they moment they meet. But then if your friends want to keep watching, you got a lot of ‘splain to do.
2 Moons 2 - an odd choice perhaps, but such a classic, that first ep just sets EVERYTHING up so well. Also it’s like prime Thai style BL. But, another one where, because of the ending it’s kinda not the best if they do want to keep watching.
Oxygen - the first ep is a little slow going but I found it both addictive and comforting, at the time it was airing I must have rewatched it half a dozen times, but the rest of the show is also kinda slow.
I’d consider My Ride too, it is a pulp, but it’s also sweet, but it’s also not really a  typical BL.
Tumblr media
If they have no triggers:
Until We Meet Again - it’s rough but that first ep will absolutely SUCK you in, it might set narrative expectations of the genre too high tho
A Tale of Thousand Stars - same thing as above, but the cast and premise carries quite a bit, and this is one where if they get into it there’s no flagging or issues or ANYTHING, it’s a damn good romance that just happens to be BL
SOTUS - yeah yeah but the first ep is glorious and very engaging, and I don’t have issues with this series like many others do
HOWEVER
Tumblr media
The Best 1st Episode BLs
Honestly, for a pure laymen, knowing nothing else about these strangers, I would actually avoid Thai BL entirely.
I’d put on Semantic Error. I feel safe showing pretty much anyone this show. And it’s a perfect introduction to the genre.
I might reach for Restart After Come Back Home for someone into cinema.
If they are geeky (SF/F types) then Cherry Magic or maybe even Color Rush.
If they are big Kdrama and/or YA fans? Light On Me.
If they like indie or modern queer cinema then Gameboys or See You After Quarantine?
I might even go for a Strongberry short if I just wanted to give a genre sample, like A First Love Story or Some More.
It’s me, so with a hair warning, I’m also likely to pop on Seven Days. Especially with someone familiar with anime or Japan’s style in general.
Okay I hope this helps!

Because Junji Ito is coming to San Diego Comic con, we really need to talk about what many consider his magnus opus, the horror manga Uzumaki. But to change things a bit, let's talk about the narrative and the structure of the story, rather than of the horror of it. Like, Share, Comment and Subscribe!
