as an Afghan how do you think Jotaro is at Afghan weddings? Do you think he’d like afghan music? would he like afghan culture? Eid?? Would he like certain cuisine?

I always think about Jotaro and me/reader getting married and its an afghan wedding. I wonder if he likes afghan things. Like I never can imagine him interacting with our culture.

I would love to celebrate Nowruz with him, it’s a really big thing in our family.

How he is at weddings? He’d honestly prefer not to go to them, but he would do anything to make you stop whining after five minutes. He really doesn’t like them because of all the social interaction… and because he gets mistaken for Pashtun due to his height and eye color. He prefers to sit at a table near the corner, away from everybody else, smoking hookah while watching you attan your heart out on the dance floor.

“Jotaro! Please, Jotaroo!” You cried out one day after receiving news from your cousin that her cousin was getting married.

“You don’t even know this woman! She’s your cousin’s cousin!” Jotaro snapped back, making you whine even louder, your voice becoming even more high pitched.

“Fuuuck! Jotaro, pleaaase! It’s so lonely without you!” You nearly screamed, “Jotaro!”

“Alright! Alright. Why do I even bother with you?” He scoffed.

You giggled with excitement, getting your way as per usual. You went to an Indian clothing tailor the next day to get a nice, crisp, black kurta with a simple design for him to wear as per usual. It was always expensive because he’s quite literally 195 cm.

The whole ride to the venue, Jotaro is cursing you and himself for being dragged to yet another event with him, gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turn white.

Your mother hums happily along with him, while you and your cousin gossip to each other in Farsi/Pashto.

“Watch out, Jotaro, there’s a lot of unmarried girls coming to this wedding today to hunt.” Your cousin said with a laugh, making you chuckle too.

“I won’t hesitate to slap a bitch if I need to.” You grinned and reached over to squeeze the nape of Jotaro’s neck playfully. He jerked feeling the cold of your gold rings and the sound of your bangles clanging together, then gave you a dirty look.

Upon arriving at the venue, he is showered with hugs and kisses by aunties and random women. He’s murmuring quiet “salam”s and trying to be respectful as they chirp in Farsi/Pashto to him.

You have to come to the rescue and let them know he’s not Afghan and your plus one for this event… which sparks a lot of gossip and nazar.

He’s not picky with food and will eat whatever is served. He thinks Afghan food is really good, and likes it when you cook for him (but still talks about his mom’s cooking a lot more, which makes you not want to cook for him.

He would really like Kabuli Pulao and grabs a mountain of it on his plate, but doesn’t really like eating it with yogurt until you force him to along with mantu.

After eating, they serve both sweet paan and naswar paan. He gets you under the premise that he got the sweet paan (even though he hates sweet things) when he really got the naswar paan. You’re pissed when you find out because you associate naswar with your father and old Afghan men and absolutely hate the smell of it.

He eats a few naswar paan and grabs a hookah, sits back, and relaxes while chain smoking. Some of your male cousins whom he’s familiar with come and go, greeting him as usual.

“Yo, Kujo.”

“Ay, Kujo.”

“What’s good, Kujo?”

A few of them who he’s cool with dab him up with a grin, which earns them a small smirk.

“How’re you treating my sis, Kujo?” Your cousin who’s more like a brother grins as he pats Jotaro’s back.

“Well enough. She’s a pain, though.” He scoffed and shook his head.

“Isn’t she?” Your cousin grinned. He sighed and shrugged.

“Oh, oh, there she goes. Mashallah!”

The music starts playing and you sprint to the dance floor to start your attan. You do a few spins borrowed from your skills in kathak and look at Jotaro, waving him over.

“Mashallah! She wants you to dance with her.” Your cousin laughs.

“No way in hell. You dance with her.” Jotaro scowls and takes a hit from the hookah, exhales a bunch of smoke, then grabs another naswar paan to try and calm down more.

“Hey, does she know you’re chewing paan with naswar? She won’t like it.” Your cousin said as he inhaled from the hookah.

“Don’t tell her, she’ll get mad and tell me I’m acting like her dad and call me naswarkhor.” Jotaro replied.

Your cousin crakced up. “Naswarkhor. Do you even know what that means?”

“I have a pretty good idea. Plus, I only chew naswar paan when she brings me to these events. It’s her fault.” He sighed.

Your cousin stood up and popped a naswar paan in his mouth. “‘Aight, I’ll see ya’ around. Let’s play poker some time, man.”

Jotaro nodded and did the adaab gesture (like in bollywood☠️). “Salam.”

“Walaikum assalam. Call me.” Your cousin grinned once more and ran off to the dance floor.

After four hours of watching you dance and make rounds talking to your friends and cousins, and avoiding khalas/ammas, Jotaro is already exhausted, and burnt out from all the hookah he's smoked.

He stands up and pulls you away from talking to your amma, pissed.

"It's been four--" He looks at his watch, "Almost five fucking hours, Y/N, I've had enough."

You frown. "Why?"

"I'm about to collapse. Let's go." He tugged at your arm.

"Bonesh! You're so rude." You frowned and pulled away from his grip.

"Well shit, I'm going to sit in my car and go to sleep." He turned to walk away.

"Fine! We can go." You said bitterly, then called out to your mother, "Madar?"

She looked at you and raised her eyebrow.

"Let's go, this idiot is tired already." You said to her in Farsi, and she laughed, standing up.

"Leave your father, he wants to play cards with his friends." She said and went outside with the two of you.

"Okay!"

"So be it." Jotaro murmurs as he sighs.

The car ride back home, Jotaro is again muttering to himself on how he even found this strange Afghan girl to be with him in the first place.

Overall, he likes the culture, and really likes the food because he's not a picky person. He only does all of the family events and stuff for you because he knows it amuses you to bring him and such.

To celebrate the beginning of NaNoWriMo, I've decided to post a little bit about my Gallifrey WIPs.

Novels/Novellas

[R/N] Ascension Series: 1 - Heartsbound (Takes place between EL and TW1) - Coordinator Romana and Deputy Coordinator Narvin go deep undercover to dig up information about the manufacturing of illegal temporal weapons that have started to appear on the black market. Their mission: Find and extract the information from the target during an exclusive four-day event for the fabulously rich aboard a famous recreational starliner, without exposing themselves as CIA or Time Lords. Four days of sneaking around on a party cruise for the powerful and wealthy elite. What could possibly go wrong? 1.5 - Warbound - It's the middle of the Time War. Narvin is leading a Resistance mission to help the Time Lords take control of a Dalek-occupied planet when a small Phiadon ship crash-lands in the middle of a no man's land between the Daleks and Time Lords. There is one Phiadon survivor, but they are fatally injured. Narvin must make a difficult decision: Let one of the last remaining Phiadons die or order one of his soldiers to hand over their life (and body) to save a dying alien. Time is running out, and Narvin must choose: Life or Death. 2 - Soulbound (near the end of the Time War) - Narvin has devised a last-ditch plan to save Romana, but in doing so, he'll risk everything. If he succeeds, Romana will be free, but if he fails, neither will make it off Gallifrey alive. It's a risk he's prepared to take to be with Romana once more. 3 - Lifebound (post-DotD) - The war is over. Now, the survivors must pick up the pieces and rebuild what they can. The first item on the agenda: Find a new home. That may not be as easy as it sounds…

*This series was conceptualized before I had listened to the War Room audios. As such, I consider this as a post-TW4 divergent AU universe. That said, since this series is still being written, there could be small bits of WR info (e.g., Narvin's House name and family, names of planets and battles, etc.) that might make its way into one or two of these books.

[R/N, OT4] Project GP (Gallifreyan Pheonix) - What would have happened if Narvin had entirely accepted Mantus' offer and stayed in the Zero Booth during Romana's assassination attempt and subsequent exile? How different would the war have been with Narvin as Rassilon's Tactician General? These books will explore the war that could have been. Book one will focus on various facets of Narvin's Time War. Book two will revolve around the aftermath of the war and the survivors who lived through it. [final title not decided upon yet; previously considered titles: Starlight Falls, Dust To Dust; at least two books planned, still in the outlining phase]

*This is a massive project that will take quite a while to write out. At the moment, the bare-bones outline of the two books combined is around 40k words, to give an idea of the size and scope of this project. I can easily see this project reaching half a mil or more words before it's finally finished.

Novelettes/One-shots

[N&E, R/N] This Bloody War of Ours - Eris offers support to Narvin returning from Gallifrey after a disastrously failed unsanctioned mission. A hidden secret gives Narvin and the Resistance hope…and a possible way to end the war for good. The catch? Someone must return to Gallifrey on what's most likely to be a suicide mission. Eris must decide if the sacrifice of a certain life is worth the end of the bloodiest war the universe has ever seen…and whether he can live with the consequences of that decision. [Takes place directly after the events on Gallifrey during Transference; separated N/E bonus chapter]

[N] Desolation - After a mission goes horribly wrong, Narvin wakes up alone on an unfamiliar planet, all his memories of the previous mission erased. Using his old CIA field agent training and a handful of memories with Leela, he's forced to endure a harsh, desolate world bent on killing him. He must use everything he knows to survive and find a way off the planet…and back to the Resistance.

[fN/R/L, fN/B, fN&E] Rectification - While Narvin is away on a routine mission for Eris, a foreign Tardis lands in a storage bay on the Resistance command ship. Leela, Romana, and Eris go to investigate. Who is the pilot of this strange Tardis…and which side of the war are they on? [Takes place in an AU near the end of the war, where Narvin had found a way to save Romana and Leela, bringing them back to the Resistance. Possibly open-ended for R/L/N sequel?]

drawings of my oc Tahira for artfight! She’s a rather rebellious 15-year-old living with her family in a Polish village or sth like that, and she’s Afghani!!

i’ll post mostly the same stuff i posted in her character sheet in artfight heheh:

She makes friends with a few other kids from the village and they go on wacky adventures together!!

Not a huge fan of Polish food, that one (except for bilberry pierogis her friend's dad makes); too little spice for her!!  Loves to argue about this with her friend. Also she'll kill for good mantu and bolani. She loves to explore and wander, probably dissappearing for hours on end because she found a new forest path and simply NEEDS to see where it leads!!!!, while her parents debate hotly whether or not to call the police and report her going missing (then Tah opens the door, a huge grin on her face becuase she saw a deer up close!! just before the police or something comes with full alarm which in hindsight was kinda funny) There's a homeless cat who kinda wanders around the area whom she befriends also. Prefers to stick to unisex clothes most of the time. Definitely gets them from secondhand.

GALLIFREY: TIME WAR: HOMECOMING: This hole was made for me:

Rassilon's death cult and the Dalek's apocalypticism, the religious fervor mounting as they spiral towards each other. "There is no CIA anymore, only me" (the mix of cocky and pathetic & the awareness that Narvin could simply regrow the CIA from himself like he’s a plant cutting, but that this version of him very probably won't...There He Is My Weird Little Man). Eris' skeletal battle TARDIS. Leela, again, jumping into the void with the most fragile of tethers because that's what she does, she saves who she can, even if it's Romana, especially if it's Romana.

Tell me again how you're not a traitor. The Daleks using null space because of course they do, the War can't be stopped that easily. Narvin staring his whipped-dog fear in the face as Rassilon takes over the ship. Leela doesn't need Narvin to ask her to protect Romana but the fact that he does is very.....and she's gonna take that responsibility maybe a little too seriously, isn't she. Narvin asking to hold Livia's hand as they die is the sweetest and saddest thing. Sentimentality indeed.

In the beginning was the word: Romana, who has spent the entire series trapped between her trauma from Etra Prime and her devotion to/obsession with/self-destructive, is it codependency if the planet is slightly psychic, whatever with Gallifrey, & also the possibility of elsewhere Dr Who and Brax represent - Romana, having been pinned beneath all that history and re-enacted trauma, now imprisoned in the Matrix archives as Daddy God King Rassilon re-writes the world. i am chewing on my keyboard ~

Livia remains low-key one of the more intriguing, complex characters in DW. i’d love to know what the fuck her deal is

Speaking of Trump analogues: Mantus trying to sell out to the Daleks is very Chris Noth in "Revolution of the Daleks".

DW's optimism and BF's endless content ethos aside....you could kill off Narvin right here and it'd be fine, narratively speaking.

This series has been about trauma and imperialism and how the system will crush you or mold you or just spit you out, and about destruction as a devotional act, and history as a cycle, and the collapsing of institutional into familial abuse. not saying it’s perfect but when it works oof ouch does it work

So I've finished relistening to Time War 4 since. I've not relistened to this since it was first released, so there were things I have missed. It has been an interesting listening experience?

I enjoyed it- but it has left me with mixed feelings. The content was good but this felt like the penultimate boxset- After nearly 20 years, I was hoping for a big cathartic ending, when it feels like actually, they've left it open for more - Brax and Narvin could easily be rescued from their respective 'deaths', Romana could be freed from the pocket dimension, Leela is explicitly alive and well - which is fine if they do (Gallifrey, after all, is known for its hiatuses), but so so disappointing.

Some random thoughts:

I really like that this series tied in, even if it was only briefly, lots of different Time War media: Romana and Brax's conversation about the Doctor, plus the frequent name-dropping of Cardinal Ollistra, tied this set in really nicely with the War Doctor series; the sabotaging of the Emperor Dalek's ship makes me wonder if this is what leads to the events of Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways; and the use of the 'Gallifrey Stands' was a nice link to The Day of the Doctor.

I love, love, LOVED hearing more Narvin backstory and all that lore on how the different chapters work.

I wish we could have heard more of the Apothecary and Danna. They had such interesting ties to our main cast, it was a shame they were only used once each. I like to imagine both the Apothecary and Danna knew each other and met up once every few centuries over cups of tea, and complained about their students together.

Honestly, it was super cathartic to hear Romana have a proper cry. Nearly 20 years of Gallifrey and up til now all we've heard is a sniffle or angsty speech. Sometimes, Romana hon, u just gotta cry it out.

The ending with Romana being forced to the archive by Rassilon was...hmm. It's not the ending I've wanted but i'll live with it for now.

Brax deserves better and I wish big finish would stop referencing him as a coward when he's not. He's many things and he has done so much for the gallifrey gang, he is not a coward. Give us actual writers who understand his arc!

Things I wished had happened:

Romana actually uses the chameleon arch. Really wanted something like Human Nature/Family of blood for Romana. can you imagine how powerful doing a similar story for Romana would have been?

Brax and Romana go through the Beyond together, and Romana for once saves Brax in all the times he has saved her. Beyond just leaves me so frustrated in terms of how Brax was written.

That they didn't kill off Livia and had her work as part of the resistance with Eris. I'd also like to have seen Mantus work with them; if reluctantly. I think that would have been so fun to see.

Behind the Screen: Black voice actors who bring fictional librarians to life!

Part of understanding fictional librarians is understanding those behind the screen, especially when it comes to anime and animation. [1] I plan to do more posts like this if I find additional fictional librarians, so this post is the beginning of what I call the "Behind the Screen" series, hopefully getting some interviews with some of these voice actors too. I'm starting with Black voice actors in this first part of the series.

About the voice actors

Perhaps the most prominent Black voice of an animated librarian is Harriett D. Foy. She steals the show with the chief librarian of the Stanza, named Clara Rhone in Welcome to the Wayne. Foy is known for roles on Broadway, television, film, regional plays, regional musicals, and concerts. Rhone was her first animated role.

Just as powerful is Ike Amadi, a Nigerian man who voices a librarian named voices Cagliostro in a What If...? episode ("What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?"). Imadi has voiced characters like Agency Boss / Subquatos in Kid Cosmic, Officer Mantus / Platoon Sergeant in Love, Death & Robots, Angor Rot and Detective Scott in Tales of Arcadia, to name a few.

Most curious of all, in terms of Black people voicing animated librarians is Kimberly Brooks, also known as Kimberly D. Brooks. She voices an uptight librarian in a DC Super Hero Girls episode ("#SoulSisters Part 2"). Apart from voicing Elephant Grandma in The Cuphead Show!, she voiced characters such as Sky Young in Arcane, Teela and Eldress in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Skara in The Owl House, Amsaja in Cleopatra in Space, Allura in Voltron: Legendary Defender, young Mari in Vixen, and over 10 characters [2] in Steven Universe and Steven Universe Future, most prominently Jasper.

Other Black voice actors include two Black men: Regi Davis as George and Chris Jai Alex as Lance in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Davis and Alex are seasoned voice actors. Davis has been in countless television, theatre, and film productions. Alex has been working in the entertainment industry since 2005, starting at the bottom. He has voiced at least 40 characters according to Behind the Voice Actors. [3]

About the characters

As I wrote in my review of Welcome to the Wayne, Clara Rhone is one of the "very few librarians of color in popular culture" and works with others at the library, emphasizing the value of these institutions as places of knowledge and understanding. Clara also has a granddaughter named Goodness, who is a library ninja, and is voiced by another Black woman: Charnele Crick.

Just as striking of a character is Cagliostro in What If...?. As I wrote in my review of that episode, he masquerades under the name "O'Bengh," and runs the Lost Library of Cagliostro, a library-temple. He tries to the best of his ability to help Doctor Strange, as he "grows out of control." He attempts to warn Strange but is unsuccessful and ends up dying in the library, taking on a number of roles in the episode at the same time: all-knowing person, a medic, and a sorcerer, while happening to be the only librarian. It is unfortunate that he is never shown outside the library.

The librarian that Brooks voices is interesting, as the unnamed librarian in the DC Super Hero Girls episode is uptight. I suppose this makes the character interesting and gives more life to it, but the character is very stereotypical and straight-lace. She voices two characters in that episode: Bumblebee and the Librarian, according to IMDB. One day, if possible, I'd like to ask her about that character.

Then there's George and Lance in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Both call themselves historians but they run a family library. They help the protagonists Adora, Glimmer, and Bow translate an ancient message and keep their library open for as long as they can, before abandoning it. Even then, they provide vital information which helps Adora and her friends stop the vile Horde from destroying the world and universe.

I've spent a couple long car journeys this weekend listening to the first three episodes of Gallifrey Time War 2, so here's my thoughts on Havoc and Partisans (mainly Partisans since I forgot to make notes on Havoc.) It may come across a bit negative but that's mainly because I just didn't vibe with Partisans ig the way it happened and just the writing didn't work for me, it's definitely for me one of the weakest episodes, even though I did enjoy the overall plot. So under the cut, here's a belated liveblog from my notes app:

Is eladra the one (well this universe's version) from Gallifrey IV?

"Equally unpleasant band of xenophobic imperialists" WOW DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR OR WHAT HMM WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE

Why in Havoc so much more human-y language, like "children" and "seconds" and "0200 hours" also a lot of saying "kill" in a way that didn't feel that very timelordy

Partisans so far feels very expositional

Narvin in partisans is snipy in an almost MCU level quippy way

When notifying Mantus that Narvin and Eris are off Gallifrey the timelord (check name later) refers to Narvin as Coordinator instead of Deputy Coordinator

Triumvirate sounds iconic it's giving Shadow and Bone vibes with the iconic Genya-Zoya-David triumvirate

TW2 aka high treason the boxset aka oh fuck we fucked up by ressurecting Rassilon the boxset

I resented trave in tw1 but this series I've changed my tune. he's going this way that way forwards and backwards in my opinion from good books in enemy lines, to the opposite in tw1 to back again in tw2

I do enjoy Romana and Livia together as allies especially when adding Trave to them as well political machinations and their vibe are really fun

I wonder if the "bohemian" style family members Romana refers to are Heartshavens or Dvora

Still not vibing with Partisans so far

Where are all the students in the academy? (when Livia and Romana are there and it's mentioned to be empty? are they not training them up still? what's going on with the education system rn? I hope this gets brought up again and explained but I'm not really expecting it to be

They're always getting bugged and stuff why don't they just like talk over telepathy? like that's a big thing they're telepaths like in universe that would be a very useful option to pick instead. I understand this from a meta perspective as it being a plot device, but in character-

Feeling a bit wild...

Pigeons are stupid, magpies are thugs. Clever thugs.

I've spent weeks digging my new wildlife pond - it's about the size of five bathtubs. And I've spent weeks planting it up, edging it nicely with rocks and logs, making it wildlife-enticing.

Unfinished pond, three weeks’ work...

Imagine it a month later, nearly finished. I’m so happy. Just this morning I had a pair of blue damselflies flitting among the newly-planted reeds and irises and marestails; I spent a nice coffee break watching water boatmen rowing their way around and investigating the water lily leaves. This lunchtime I had a visit from a big fat wood pigeon, who perched on a careful branch for a little sip of water.

Unfortunately Mr Pigeon upset my friendly magpie, Mantus.

Did I tell you about Mantus? Last year, he smacked headfirst into my kitchen window, knocked himself out and landed in a tangled heap on No.2 of my chain of water butts. I spent the afternoon protecting No.2 water butt from the cats and feeding the young magpie drops of water and chunks of puppy food. It was a hot day and as I had the other kitchen window open for ventilation, I also ended up chasing him round the kitchen and wiping magpie poop off the kitchen counters until he'd recovered enough from his little concussion to fly off into the cherry tree to safety.

So you can understand that Mantus and I have a respectful friendship - I promise to put out food for him on the No.2 water butt, so long as he promises not to come into my kitchen and cr@p in the sink.

Last week Mantus brought his new family to visit - wife and two young fledglings. Every morning since, I've been putting out a dish of puppy food and they hop around the garden looking sleek and smug. No-one else (apart from me) is allowed in the garden while they have their preening, swaggering little pap-walk -- their rules, not mine!

Then this lunchtime, a big fat wood pigeon popped in for a drink from the pond. Now, magpies are very protective of their chicks, and to be honest the woodpigeon was about twice the size of the baby magpies, so I'm not surprised that Mantus got a bit aggressive. But still...

There I am down the garden, pottering, and suddenly there's this mad ruckus. I stand up to see what's going on, there's a woodpigeon scrabbling in the pond being divebombed by Mantus while the wife and kids are flapping around and chucking bricks at it. By the time I reached the pond there was one very soggy pigeon, four cackling magpies and a bl**dy great mess of all my hard pond work.

I mean, I've created my back garden to be wildlife friendly. I do everything right; I don't use nasty chemicals, I have bee and butterfly friendly plants and a wildflower meadow, I have a friendly pond, I grow friendly fruit and veg for us all to share.

I just wish the wildlife would be friendly back.

Kameo was like a completely upgraded person! He spoke better, he acted like such a proper gentleman. Alamea was so excited to talk and hang out with him again and catch up! Kameo was also happy for his sister and loved hearing about her experiences at university.

Keaka couldn't be more excited to see her boyfriend again. She wanted to go with them when they went to pick Kameo up from the airport but she also understood how important it was that he spend time with his family and she had class even though the urge to skip was very strong. As soon as class ended she sped off on her bike to the Mantus.  

Keaka walked up to him slow, almost extremely shy. They’ve spoke on the phone numerous times but now that he was here in person she felt nervous. Kameo couldn’t contain his smile as he greeted her wide grinned. To everyone's surprise, Kameo embraced Keaka lightly as ever then stood back from her and looked at her intently.There was a brief intense moment of fear from the onlooking family that Kameo, because he had changed was going to break up with Keaka to try to start anew. And then what he did next shocked everyone...

Although unexpected, everyone cheered and it was a great welcome back!

Weeks passed and Alamea and Ekram headed back to school. They decided it was best to continue to live in their separate dorms but keep their Foodie Dates and on special occasions and once a month they always had a romantic date

It wasn’t long, it seemed, before Alamea was calling the family and inviting them to her University Graduation. Alamea had been doing so well and advancing so fast she was ahead in all of the medical programs and she was declining and accepting internships left and right. It also was revealed that Alamea would be her years Valedictorian and she was graduating with the highest medical honors! Liana being a proud parent was an understatement.

As a surprise graduation gift to Alamea, Ekram asked Alamea if she wanted to move in together. Alamea was so shocked and also so relieved! She knew that she was starting her new residency at the Smithers-Montgomery Hospital within the next few months and the thought that she’d be commuting from her childhood home was making her feel less than successful.

Now Alamea was more than excited to start this new journey of her life! She couldn't wait to tell her brother especially now that she was done with school she could help with wedding plans as well.

Alamea and Ekram drove through the night after spending days packing both of their dorms and buying new furnishings for their new place. They decided to buy a new house and remodel it themselves which left them staying at Alameas parents for awhile until the remodels could be finished.

Now that Kameo and Alamea (along with Ekram) were back at home the days were busy with wedding plans and house planning. Alamea and Ekram spent most of their days at their house refurnishing and working with the designers to get it perfect.

Keaka and Kameo were spending every day together. Even though she was still in high school she was busy planning the wedding with Kameos mom when she came over on weekends and when she was home she was busy with homework,which meant that finding time alone with just each other felt like it was sacred, and the fiancees enjoyed their alone time..which ultimately led to a little surprise that Keaka and Kameo were keeping secret for now...

They waited until Keaka had officially graduated high school before going through with wedding payments and final decisions but as Keaka tried on wedding dresses with her entourage she found herself adjusting dress sizes to larger every month...

Wedding Day for Kameo and Keaka!

Cats out of the bag!  Keaka spent a long time hiding it. Even got through her high school graduation and prom where she mostly drank water..the day has finally arrived for her to marry her best friend since they were literal children. She was a beautiful blushing bride and was Pregnant!

Apparently, a few months before her graduation Keaka took a pregnancy test that came up positive and needed to hide it through her last months of high school.

witcher dwarf names

as sort of a goofy aside while I was working on The Transcript, I started writing down the name of every dwarf NPC I encountered in Vergen, and now I have a whole bunch of surnames and forenames and I figure I may as well post them because I keep losing the damn lists in case they may be of use to someone else. TW2’s background NPCs’ nametags are randomly generated from different tables depending on the NPC’s species, so none of these are really canon character names, just… canon-friendly. (I’ve opted to leave in the blatant Tolkien references, so those are in there too, lol.)

basically no feminine forenames here—Eudora Breckenriggs is essentially lthe only female dwarf character in any of the Witcher canons and that extends to the random NPCs. some of the family names are related to actual canon characters; these have been italicized.

I just discovered a Javanese phrase that I found interesting: ngunduh mantu. It refers to a traditional wedding reception held by a family to welcome their son/daughter-in-law.

However, the first time I saw the "ngunduh", my mind immediately went to "unduh" (ID of "download"). Since "mantu" means "son/daughter-in-law" in ID, it can also be seen as "downloading a son/daughter-in-law".

Imma save that for the next ❄🤖 art; it sounds so punny I love it 😂 Like, ❄ ngunduh himself into 🤖's dad's network as his future mantu at S3 epilogue (badum tss)

Hello, Witchblr!!

Hello, hello sweet peas!! How’re you doing today? My name is Alexandria; I’m 17, and I’ve been practicing witchcraft since I was 12! I use the she/her pronouns, and I have two deities that I WORK with! I’ll be “introducing” them in this post; mainly giving some facts, and sharing my experience with them! Because no one wants to hear me talk about them in real life…

So! Who are my two deities?

They are Libitina, and Mania!

They are part of the Roman Pantheon, and they are… somewhat similar in the areas they rule over. I’ll explain Libitina first, since I listed her first.

Libitina, also Libentina or Lubentina, is an ancient Roman goddess of funerals and burial. Her name was used as a metonymy* for death, and undertakers were known as libitinaria. Libitina was associated with Venus, and the name appears in some authors as an epithet of Venus.

She was depicted wearing dark robes and having wings looking like a bird of prey. Libitina may have been originally an earth goddess connected with nature and enjoyment of life. Her festival was called feralia* (February 21st) a weeklong festival, honouring, communicating and appeasing spirits of the dead. She was also identified with Persephone or proserpina, a goddess of the underworld.

Now, let’s move on to Mania!

Mania (Manea) is a Goddess of the Underworld and the dead. She ruled the underworld with Mantus. She was said to be the mother of ghosts, the undead, and other spirits of the night. See? They’re sort of related! Mania’s origins are… debatable, it’s a toss up between Italian and Etruscan; I personally believe she’s of Italian origin, as when she communicates with me in the Astral Realm, she seems to have an Italian accent. But that is just my experience with her!!

Ghosts, as we know them today, weren't always viewed as these malicious spirits! The Romans held their dead in great respect. They were di manes, the ‘good’ dead, honoured ancestors never to be forgotten. As such, it was customary for living relatives to visit family graves on the deceased’s birthday, to celebrate the day and remember the life of the departed loved one. Although the Manes are sometimes called the benevolent dead, they weren’t always that benevolent, and neither is Mania. At the New Moon nearest November 1, windows were shuttered, houses sealed up, and mirrors turned to face the wall. The Manes were loose. (The Manes can slip in through cracks and use mirrors as portals.) Woolen dolls called maniae were hung over doorways with garlic and poppies to serve as protection.
