maikos first video on niconico was posted on mar 24 2012 (which is why I'm counting it as her birthday), but her download was only published on sep 2 2013. gekkayo (a magazine/ fan book thing I think ??? help) wanted a screamo Vocaloid but Yamaha told them it can't be done (according to the utau fandom wiki) so they made an utau. maikos voice provider is maiko Nagasaki, a professional screamo singer. maiko(utau) only has a screamo vb shes illustrated by sin, however the second slide was illustrated by 朝丘 on pixiv pixiv.net/en/users/6533 pixiv.net/en/artworks/26661878 the art work of maiko and IA is well known due to it being used in a Nightcore remix of This Little Girl by Cady Groves, uploaded to YouTube by NightcoreReality on mar 13 2014. the upload currently stands at over 166 million views. the rest of the illustrations were all done by sin as far as I'm aware

Have a bit of Thing A Day catch-up to do; been having a bad mental health week. Lots of finding getting out of bed difficult. All too easy once I am up to do things like game obsessively instead of tackling anything I'd actually meant to do. As far as I can reconstruct the last most-of-a-week:

Mar 21 - I'm pretty sure I went to bed at a stupid hour (because Timberborn, again) and then overslept. Leftover shepherd's pie from the freezer for supper.

Mar 22 - Woke up at a reasonable (for me) hour, and then just lay in bed for many hours before getting up. Chili from the freezer and some rice for supper, with chopped fresh tomato.

Mar 23 - I have no memory of this day. I think I did chicken strips and fries for supper? Maybe. Or was this the shepherd's pie day and the 21st was the chicken strips. Who knows. Not my brain!

Mar 24 - Slept/lay in bed until stupidly late in the day again. Did pasta with meat sauce and chicken meat balls for supper.

Mar 25 - Managed to get up out of bed pretty early in the day, but it was because I'd barely slept. Had breakfast and then went back to bed and read for a while and then napped. Processed a bunch of meat my brother bought yesterday into 1 lb lots for freezing. Made beef stew from some of it.

Mar 26 - Sleep schedule still whacked, got up early again and then took a nap in mid-day. Did burgers & fries and a tomato-avocado-cucumber salad for supper.

Some time in the last few days I baked a loaf of cracked wheat bread, but I don't remember which day. And I might have partially cleaned the upstairs bathroom? Unless that was before this week from limbo.

It's now passed midnight; time to hit the sack before I succumb to temptation and not go to bed.

I think the lassitude and brain fog this week was largely hormones - I've hit the 'the engine doesn't always turn over' point of aging and menstruation, and after several months of very happily not having that to deal with, guess what started a couple day ago. Yeah. And the energy level and braining have rebounded noticeably since it started. Hope it fucks off again, permanently, 40+ years of this nonsense is long enough.

Reading: Kitchens of the Great Midwest (audiobook) by J. Ryan Stradal (2nd attempt one year later) Watching: Finished Doctor Who S3! Also watching Markiplier play FNAF; I've never seen any of it before Listening to: dont fuckin know. I listened to the hamilton soundtrack yesterday and michael jackson the day before Posting: whatever bro. There's some good ass posts in my drafts though.

Work sucks, no improvement on job search or my skills, not making art, not reading 10 million books or learning 10 million new things or having 10 million new experiences

But at least there's another hour of warm sunlight!

#77: Foot War

This game starts with a short cinematic in which monsters that resemble giant hands storm a castle, taking the king, queen, and all the soldiers... but leave behind the teenage princess, and her enormous closet full of shoes.

"I don't know why this wasn't released, it's incredible.. Maybe it was just too expensive for the time and this is like a prototype? It's not much to look at but neither is the Wii U, so- oh hang on, I need to defend my shoes!" Bea is very serious about defending her shoes!

The game begins, and the princess has to fight her way through expansive, Sonic- like landscapes, using the shoeboxes all around her to arm herself for battle! The sneakers let her run faster, the platform wedgies let her stomp enemies like Mario, the spiked cleats let her run up walls, and that's just the start!

"I got PUMPS! PUMPS! I- Oh I can't run in these, of course. Great. Oh but I have better range, I have stab-heel kick death spear power"

The further Bea goes, the more shoes she unlocks, including unusual ones like swimming flippers, moon shoes (for extra high jumps), and what the game calls "cement overshoes"-- a tub of concrete that the princess can only hop in, and will take her to an underwater world if she jumps into water wearing them!

The final boss is a well dressed hand- well, a glove- that takes off its glove to fight.. there's another glove underneath, and the discarded glove comes to life as a second foe!

"Oh, RIPOFF!"

Glockroach: Bea this woulda been way before Smash, brub john_brown: the bad guys are kind of at a disadvantage, there aren't really as many kinds of gloves as of shoes! Syrupentine: You say that but wait till they pull out the Freddy Krueger glove ButterflyDefect: What about spats, where do those fit in? and socks? fine net leggings? There are too many questions! Klickitat_Street: Maybe eventually you have to fight an entire tuxedo

Finally the hand explodes, into five panicking fingers that run around on tiny legs like caterpillars!

ButterflyDefect: OH!!! all becomes.... clear? pigbarrel: haha, talk a walk, ya lousy fingers!

Then there's another brief cinema sequence, as the princess finds a pair of broken pumps on the ground where the hand was, and her eyes fill with fear.

[Oh...!] [Th-these... belong to...] [...MY FATHER!]

Mar 24 - cleaned the kitchen closet. Onions and potatoes get stored in it, as well as our bucket of flour and things for cleaning. The onions of course shed onion skins everywhere, so a big part of cleaning the closet is just getting rid of all of those.

For supper I made toad-in-the-hole with peas and corn.
