After a long and wearisome struggle with his recalcitrant hammock, Algy eventually managed to pack up his birthday poetry books and lei garlands more or less tidily in it, securing the rope the ends so that his treasures could not escape again. He got to his feet with this surprisingly heavy burden, and was just about to bid a reluctant farewell to his island when, to his surprise, a party of tropical frogs hopped out from among the exotic plants of the island’s wee jungle, and requested him to kindly wait a moment longer. When questioned, they said that one of Algy’s friends @marauderfan had asked them to see him off in style, because it was a Friday...

Algy was puzzled, but nevertheless delighted to have any excuse to postpone his departure, so he sat down again happily, and the frogs immediately began to croak a strange sort of poem, singing in the style of an amphibian barber shop quartet...

Amphibious, at home on the surface tension, in over my head, not out of my depth, not deep deep deep, not in far. Not high and dry, not even in treetops, where I sing water into the root-hairs. It seeks me, will not forsake me. Hand over hand it climbs. It breaks the first law of water, all for my song. Into the trunk and up, it greens the leaves that the leaves may be -emerald me. The leaves breathe it out and I drink, then sing lest the water forget to rise and the world be kindling.
