“Heard (Y/n) (Y/l/n)’s gonna be at the party tonight, she’s an easy target.”
Sirius Black didn’t even give his best friend a chance to react before he was smacking their fellow Gryffindor’s books out of his hands and straight to the ground, making them land with a dull thud that echoed through the corridors, never once turning his head to get a good look at the kid, he didn’t have to to know he was probably rat faced.
Remus didn’t say anything, but he had never been one to do so. He kept his eyes forward, piercing down the long hallway, but his anger showed in the tightness of his jaw and the white of his knuckled as his grip on his shoulder bag strap tightened, and if you looked close enough you could see the glint of a heavy sadness twinkle in his brown eyes, but only if you looked close enough, of course.
Which Sirius had.
The darker haired boy opened his mouth to say something, anything to his best mate to get at least the ghost of a smile to graze his lips, but he quickly shut it when he saw you making a beeline for the two of them from the opposite direction, a bright smile plastered on your face.
And, suddenly, there was the light in Remus Lupin’s eyes.
“I am so ready to get absolutely plastered!” You enthused, your eyes wide with excitement as you linked arms with your two friends, looking back and forth between the two of them, patiently awaiting for excited smiles to grace their handsome features as well. But, when they both just nodded, pathetic smiles hanging loosely from their lips, your shoulders slumped.
“You’re not excited?”
“Of course we are.” Remus assured you, raising an eyebrow at Sirius.
Sirius had a terrible habit of telling you all of the nasty things they overheard about you around the school, not because he enjoyed the sad look in your eye or the occasional quiver of your bottom lip, but because he would get so angry he simply couldn’t help himself. He felt as though he would be doing you a disservice if he didn’t make you aware of how more than half of the student body felt about you. But it began to get to the point where it became useless, you already knew, why was there any point in informing you every time?
And why was there an issue? Why was it such a bad thing that you enjoyed hooking up? It wasn’t like more than half of the male student body wasn’t doing the exact same thing you were. You were just having fun, enjoying your young years and reveling in the perks of not wanting to be tied down just yet. It made the Marauders blood boil, hearing people talk about you so terribly like they weren’t doing the same thing.
“Ecstatic.” Sirius exhaled, sending you a soft smile and a wink, causing you to smile again.
The three of you continued to walk arm in arm to the common room, chatting about nothing and everything, summer plans, classes, the handsome dark eyed boy Sirius has his eye on, Lily and James, and just about everything in between until you reached the fat lady.
Sirius muttered the password and you brought your hands to your sides, breaking the chain between the three of you, causing a chill to go down Remus’ spine at the lack of your touch, the spot on his arm now felt cold.
“There they are! S’my best mates!” James came tumbling down the steps leading to the boys dormitories, a loose tie hanging from his neck and hair tousled in all different directions.
“Are you drunk already?!” Remus questioned, stifling a laugh.
James held his hands up in surrender, “Wha’s a party without a little pre party right lads??” He laughed before bringing his hand up to point to you. “You!”
“Me?”
“You! Go change and meet us in our dorm! Pre party!!”
You had barely opened your mouth to respond before James spun around on his heel and was bounding up the steps again, impressively not tripping over his own feet, with Sirius not far behind, yelling at James about how he hoped he saved some for him.
 You and Remus stood next to each other for a moment, amused looks adorning both your faces at the childish excitement from your two best friends over a Hogwarts house party, before you eventually turned to each other and giggled, both sets of cheeks flashing with heat.
“I’ll see you at the party then?” Remus asked, assuming there was no way you’d come to sit in their messy dorm hours before the party started, forced to watch Sirius and James argue over spells and the best pickup lines.
You nodded. “See you there, Moony.”
Remus had been right, of course, you did not join the boys in their dorm for drinks, instead deciding to take a nap before getting ready and taking your time on getting ready, before taking a couple photos with your roommates and having a couple quick drinks with them.
By the time you made it downstairs to the common room, the party was in full swing, drinks cluttered the tables, students were crammed on the couches, and the smell of smoke and firewhisky quickly invaded your lungs. You couldn’t help but smile at the atmosphere, you adored parties. There was always just a lighthearted and carefree vibe around them, you get a couple drinks in you and suddenly everyone is your best friend, your cheeks hurt from smiling, and the undeniable urge to dance all just tie together to create the perfect feeling in your chest.
And it doesn’t hurt when there’s a certain cutie you have your eye on that you can flirt with all night.
“Looking lovely as always.”
You turned your head as your eyes landed on your best friend and you smiled, trying so hard to ignore the warm feeling of butterflies in your stomach as his deep brown eyes looked into yours, a soft smile playing at his lips.
“Why thank you, Mr. Lupin.”
“Please, call me Remus.” He quipped, extending a hand out to you to assist you in walking down the remaining steps, only then had you realized you were still on the stairs.
“As you wish.” You joked back, a wink flickering across your left eye, and Remus swore if he had had just a couple more drinks his legs would have turned to jello.
Once you had made it down to even ground, a drink was being shoved into your hand by James, who’s bloodshot eyes were paired nicely with the poorly wrapped joint hanging from his lips.
“Where’s Lils?”
You smiled and took a swig from your drink, light happiness bursting through your chest at the love your best friends shared, they were better for each other than you could’ve ever imagined.
“Should be right behind me.” You said, turning your head slightly to see if your best friend had made her way out of your room yet, but the only sight you were met with was James clammering up the steps to check on his girl.
You shook your head and giggled before turning your attention back to the taller boy, who had the same humorous expression on his face.
“Shall we?”
“We shall.”
“I’m telling you! Those are the exact words that came out of her mouth!” Sirius argued to the gaggle of friends, who all weren’t listening, too occupied by their fits of laughter and the joyful tears running down their faces to listen to their friend.
The black haired boy pouted and fell against the handsome Ravenclaw he had been wrapped around all night, who cooed and kissed the side of his face, although an amused glint still sparkled in his eyes.
You hadn’t even remembered what the story was, but now you couldn’t stop laughing, being egged on by the cackles of the rest of the group, and you clutched your stomach.
The party had completely died out, leaving just you and your closest friends on the common room couches, exchanging stories and cigarettes as soft music sounded from the record player in the corner.
And Remus’ hands hadn’t left your skin all night.
They were constantly somewhere, one on your waist, your lower back, swung over your shoulder, the back of your neck, and currently, softly gripping your thigh.
You turned to look at him, a bright smile still beaming on your face before you lazily rested your head against his shoulder, prompting him to press a kiss to your hairline.
“You are so beautiful.” He whispered so softly that even you almost missed it and you felt heat rising up in your cheeks, bringing your head up to face him again, this time a softer smile on your lips.
“Please never stop smiling.” He breathed out, his face turned serious, eyes filled with devotion and warmth, quickly flickering to your lips before they went back to your eyes.
And he had you.
“I feel sick.” You announced suddenly to your friends, shooting straight up to your feet, causing Remus’ hand to fall. “M’gonna turn in.”
“Oh, love! Would you like help?” Marlene asked, leaning forward and gripping her hands around the armrest of her seat, ready to up and help you, despite the curly haired brunette sitting on the floor between her legs.
Remus caught on. “No, Marlene, you stay here. I’ll help her.” He insisted, standing up beside you, his hand ghosting around your waist.
“You’re sure?” She raised an eyebrow and Remus nodded, trying his best to ignore the knowing smirks of his fellow Marauders.
“It’s no problem.”
“Alright.” She answered hesitantly, eyes flickering over to you. “Come fetch me or Lils if you need, yeah?”
You nodded and bid your friends goodnight, snaking your fingers through Remus’ while allowing him to lead you up the stairs.
You were both giggling and tripping over your own feet as you got closer to your room, but a certain heaviness weighed on your chest when you remembered what he most likely wanted from you. Even though Remus was someone closer to your heart, he was still a boy, and it was something that all boys wanted from you, because they knew they could get it.
Sex.
You didn’t entirely mind, enjoying the no strings attached one night stand every once in a while, but it got to the point where most guys at Hogwarts wouldn’t even look in your direction unless they had a lustful intent, and sometimes, that stung.
But, you still let Remus into your room, you still locked the large oak door so you’d be left alone by your roommates, who you were positive were spending the night elsewhere, and you still looked up at Remus expectantly, breathing slightly heavy from running up the stairs and only a little dizzy.
The sandy haired blond was hard to read, his eyes didn’t leave yours as he set down his bottle of firwhisky with a thud on Lily’s dresser, and he brought one hand to grip the side of your neck, his thumb stroking your cheek bone, and the other on your hip.
Your heartbeat quickened as you rested a hand on his chest, the other holding the opposite side of his neck.
It was agonizing, the way he studied you, the way he leaned in closer only to place a chaste kiss on your jaw, earning a soft sigh from you as you fluttered your eyes close.
“Fuck.” He whispered before his lips were on yours, soft and gentle, barely parted as his grip on you barely tightened, just holding you.
And he pulled away, just like that.
“(Y/n).” He whispered.
“Yes?” You breathed out, head still spinning from the feeling of his lips on yours.
“Jus’ sayin’ your name.” He replied, his eyes scanning over every feature on your face, before pulling you in for another kiss, and you took the liberty of deepening it, leading him over to your bed before he pulled away from you, his hands gripping your shoulders. “Woah, woah. Hold on, love.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you looked at him, slightly cocking your head to the side.
“You don’t want-”
Remus felt his heart break.
You thought he just wanted to fuck you.
“Darling…”
“W- why did you kiss me, then?” You asked, confusion plastered all over your face, arms dangling at your sides as you waited for Remus to answer, and his intoxicated brain couldn’t get a response out fast enough.
“Oh god, oh god.” Your eyes widened in horror and this time it was Remus’ turn to be confused. “I completely misread the situation. Fuck!” You frantically rubbed at your eyes, smearing black eyeliner and mascara all over the delicate white sleeves of your top. “Oh god, I’m so sorry Remus. I- I thought you were flirting and-”
The brown eyed boy was completely helpless and didn’t know what else to do besides grabbing your face to kiss you once more, breaking apart only a second later to rest his forehead on yours.
“Just to kiss you.” He responded to your question.
“What?”
“I kissed you, because I wanted to kiss you, love.”
Your eyebrows raised in understanding, a look of uncertainty in your eye.
“Just to kiss me? Not to-” You gestured to the bed, but Remus cut you off.
“No.”
You could’ve cried, right in that moment, you could’ve cried. Did your best friend love you the way you loved him? Was this really happening?
“And, and if I told you I didn’t want to be touched?”
He smiled, “I’d say you look lovely.”
“And if I told you I just wanted to lay with you and cuddle?”
“Happily.” He breathed, a look on his face that said that was the only thing he’d ever want from you.
“If I said we’ll never have sex?”
Remus laughed and shook his head at you, “Darling, I wouldn’t care.”
You smiled, and sighed with relief, falling into him, and he gladly wrapped his arms around you, swaying you back and forth.
“Rem.” You said after a few moments, voice muffled by the material of his shirt.
He hummed in response.
“I think I’m in love with you.”
He couldn’t believe what he was hearing, he pulled away from you in disbelief, staring and studying your face, looking for any hint of sarcasm or humor, but there wasn’t one. But there was a tear running down your cheek, and Remus was quick to wipe it away.
“And I’m terrified.”
He frowned as your bottom lip quivered and your eyes lowered to the floor, ashamed to look at him. But Remus brought your head up to look at him by placing his thumb and pointer finger on your chin.
“Nothing to be scared of, dove. I love you more than you could ever know. I’m with you.”

Young!Remus Lupin x Reader - Never Stop Being You
For @loving-and-dreaming (and for anyone else who has ever felt like this) ; I hope this fic helps I saw it a while ago whilst I was reading Remus fics!
I hope you all enjoy this! 💛
Tumblr media
“Y/n, I was thinking we could go to the library after potion classroom study?” Remus said, lifting his head up from the book he’d been enthralled in most of the morning.
“Yeah; that sounds good, hon-Remus,” Y/n replied with barely even a smile before she left the Gryffindor Common room altogether.
Remus’ eyes narrowed in both confusion and concern; a look that his fellow Marauders also mirrored.
Y/n loved the library, that’s where she spent eighty percent of her time when she wasn’t in classes and sure studying wasn’t her favorite thing to do but it was odd to see her so indifferent by what he said.
She also rarely called anyone by their first name unless it was her first time meeting them; or had told her to call them by their name. But Remus had never done that; in fact he found it adorable that she called him honey; it made his heart feel all warm and fuzzy.
So hearing his actual name fall from her lips was like a punch in the gut.
She hadn’t called him by his full name since they met each other; in their first year, they were now in their seventh….
“Did I just hear that correctly?” He asked; rubbing the back of his neck nervously; his mind trying to work out if maybe he had misheard her.
“Moony, what did you do?” Sirius questioned; his eyebrows raised as he looked at his friend; Sirius, much like Remus had rarely seen Y/n call anyone by their first name, the only time he’d experienced it was when she was really mad at him for pulling a prank on her, that went terribly wrong and ruined one of her favorite books.
Hence why Sirius assumed that Remus and Y/n had had a falling out.
However, Lily soon corrected that assumption, “He hasn’t done anything,”
“She’s been like that for a few days,” Marlene continued with a sigh, as she twiddled her quill in between her fingers, “It’s like she’s stopping herself from saying the nicknames she’s called us for years…”
Remus hadn’t been around as much the last few days because of the full moon, he’d spent most of his time in the hospital wing and in his dorm room; today was the first real day he’d felt strong enough to go back to classes.
Something had happened to Y/n…and he couldn’t help the ache of guilt in his chest at the thought of something happening to her and him not being there.
But he was here now; and he was going to find out what had happened to make her act unlike herself.
~~~~~
Throughout the rest of the day, Remus kept an eye on Y/n…and although it was exactly like Marlene had said, she was calling everyone by their first name, avoiding all the nicknames she used to call people; there was also something else going on.
She was quiet; unusually so.
She barely cracked a smile at Sirius’ joke in Charms class; and Remus knew  that that was a joke she would’ve normally laughed at.
It was like a Dementor had come along and sucked all of the happiness out of her.
In fact he was fully  prepared for her not to show up to their study session today; but a small wave of relief washed over him when he saw her making her way over to him.
“Hey,” Remus greeted softly as she sat down; there were a million questions racing around in his head, but he thought it was best to let her get comfortable before he started asking her questions.
After an hour of studying; it was not Remus who broke the silence they were in, it was Y/n.
“What’s wrong? She asked; her eyes not once dithering from the book she was reading.
“Shit,” Remus mumbled under his breath; as he looked up at Y/n. He’d been hoping that she was so engrossed in her charms book to notice his worried glances; clearly, he was wrong.
“I could ask you the same question?” He countered gently; closing the book he’d been trying and failing to read.
“I’m fine,” she stated bluntly; trying to ignore the concern in Remus’ eyes as he looked at her.
“I’m just saying…if there’s something wrong…you can talk to me, Y/n/n y’know that right?”  he smiled reassuringly.
He knew she was lying when she said she was fine; but he also respected that maybe she didn’t want to talk about what was wrong right now and as much as he wanted her to tell him what was wrong so he could help her, he also wasn’t going to push her.
“Why does everyone think there’s something wrong with me?” Y/n snapped; silencing the minimal chitter in the background as she gathered her belongings and quickly left the library.
He swore he saw her wipe a few tears from her cheek before she left; and that just made his heart ache even more as his mind fought with itself for a few moments; trying to decide what the best thing to do was, if he went after her he was worried that she would feel like she didn’t have any space; but alternatively he also hated the thought of her being alone whilst she was upset.
He couldn’t leave her.
So he rushed after her, trying to think of where she could be.
He tried all the usual places he thought he’d find her; and then all of the less likely places; and he couldn’t find James who had the map, so that ruled that out as an option of trying to find her.
It was a complete and utter coincidence that he bumped into her quite literally while he was walking towards the Quidditch pitch where James and Sirius were.
“Y/n/n-” his words stopped in his throat when he saw just how puffy and red her eyes were.
“C’mere,” he whispered, pulling her into his arms; a gesture which she didn’t fight against; instead, she simply melted into the warmth and comfort of his arms, as he rubbed her back soothingly.
“I’m sorry,” She sniffled, pulling herself away from him slightly so that she could wipe her tears away.
“You don’t need to be sorry,” he cooed; continue to rub small circles into her back; while his other hand rose to her face, caressing her cheek.
“Am I too much?” She asked, the question catching Remus completely off guard.
“Am I too nice; too bubbly, just…too much, I know people don’t always like nicknames…and I can be a bit too loud sometimes; that’s not something I’m not used to hearing but I didn’t think it annoyed people, is it annoying?”
The words were falling from her lips faster than Remus’ mind could keep up with; but after a few seconds the words had processed.
“It’s not annoying, not at all,” he said, tilting her head up slightly so that their eyes met, “Why don’t you start from the beginning?”
So she did.
She explained what had happened a few nights ago; that a handful of students had said that she was too friendly and nice to everyone; that she was too bubbly and should learn to not talk as much, and the nicknames she called people, like honey were just weird.
And that was all because she offered to help them with an assignment.
“I was…I was just trying to help,” she continued; picking the skin around her thumb anxiously.
“I know and there is nothing wrong with that,” Remus stated, taking her hands in his, “you don’t have to shrink who you are just because other people can’t appreciate how brilliant you are,”
“I’m not brilliant,” she mumbled, her thumbs rubbing along the side of my knuckle.
“Yes, you are,” he argued; though his tone remained soft, as his thumb traced over her bottom lip.
 “You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest and most beautiful person I have known and even that is an understatement,” he breathed, unknowingly closing the small distance between them; until their lips were almost touching.
He glanced down at her lips, before meeting her eyes, silently asking her if this was okay.
She didn’t say anything; she simply closed the distance between them herself.
The initial shock of her lips on his made him stumble back a little; thankfully it was not enough to break the kiss; he wished his lips could heal her hurt, he wished he could kiss the pain away and show her just how amazing she was in his eyes.
“You are amazing,” he breathed in between kisses before placing one last kiss on her forehead, before pulling her back into his arms, “and I will always remind you of that.”
Love from books ~ R.L
Summary: After your encounter with Remus at the bookshop you decided to go back.
Warnings: Fluff.
Tags: @mad-elia @sagesworlddd @garfieldsladybird
You’d had a lot of time to think about going back to Remus, three weeks to be exact. Even though he said ‘see you next week’ you didn’t turn up. You don’t know why but it felt different now.
You knew that if you went back you wouldn’t be going back for the books, you’d be going back for him.
Given your experience with boys, or there lack of you didn’t want to make a big deal about arriving.
Just as usual you went into the shop, picked out a book and found a comfy seat to begin reading. You felt uneasy at first, like you weren’t supposed to be there but then the feeling quickly settled when everywhere beyond the pages of the book slowly disappeared and your main focus was not getting a paper cut when you flipped the page.
“Thought you weren’t going to come back.” A voice echoed from behind the seat.
Slowly you pressed your finger on the line your eyes had stopped on and slowly turned your neck to see who was speaking to you. Much to your surprise it was Remus, leaning against the top of the chair with that grin.
You smiled and stood up, “I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner.”
“Sorry for what? You aren’t obligated to come here every single Tuesday at 3pm.” He smiled back at you and straightened his posture.
“I’m going to ignore that awfully creepy knowledge you’ve memorised.”
“What can I say? When you’re in here all the time I can’t help but notice.”
You smiled at him before returning your attention to your oozing finger. "Do you have any plasters?"
He looked between your eyes and the finger that was tightly in your grasp. He nodded and motioned you to follow him, so you did. The book you were reading was thrown onto the chair with no care in the world, you followed Remus blindly behind the curtain which separated customer from employee.
Remus took you to the staff bathroom and told you to sit on the toilet lid whilst he went to fetch the first aid kit.
"You know I don't need you to do this for me." You said when he walked back into the bathroom, first aid kit in hand. Remus knelt before you and opened the box.
"Let me take care of you." He said whilst smiling.
"This is stupid," You sighed, "but fine."
You sat on the toilet lid for about twenty seconds whilst Remus wrapped the plaster around your finger and then spend the next five minutes staring at you. You didn't know if you liked the feeling of his gaze upon you, but as soon as his face moved closer and his soft lips pressed against yours, you knew you did.
Remus was a kind, gentle, warm person, you felt automatically trusted and safe when you was with Remus. Nothing about the kiss was awkward when you two pulled apart, and you never brought it up or said anything to ruin the moment. You just let the moment sit.
You knew you liked him and you suspected he liked you as well, so you wasn't surprised when he asked you on a date. You couldn't muster up the words to express how badly you wanted to shout and jump into his arms at the question, all you could do was nod.
"Great, I'll see you next Tuesday at 3pm then?"
"Yeah, I'll give you my number when I leave." You smiled at him.
"You're not going right now?" He asked.
You shook your head, "I'd think I'd like to finish my book."
Remus couldn't help but break a grin at your response, knowing he got more time to admire you as you read. He followed you out back onto the shop floor where he was met with a large queue of impatient customers.
As he worked he would take a small glance over to you just to make sure you were okay. This was when Remus knew he liked you.
𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 —send me a shy!reader request for any character (with a plot) and I'll write a >1k drabble
sirius/james introducing shy!reader to remus. and shes just like quiet and in awe, but remus loves it.
luveline's 40k party ☆ tysm for requesting! remus x shy fem!reader
James is used to your personality after months of being your lecture neighbour, unperturbed by your quiet. "It's going to be fun," he promises, handing you a cold glass of cranberry vodka. "They're nice, okay? I won't let anyone irritate you."
He's hosting a party and had the generosity to invite you round early. He's easing you in, so to speak. It took him two weeks of steady Hellos for you to work up the courage to say Hi back, another two weeks for small talk, a month before you felt comfortable speaking to him first. If you're that shy, a party is basically torture.
"It's not about irritating me," you say.
"I know, I'm messing." James lists his head to the left. A second later, there's a knock at the door. "Aha. Wait here, shortcake, there's someone I want you to meet."
"James," you say after him, wet from your glass leaking down to your sleeve, "what?"
"I asked him to come early and say hello! He's quiet and handsome and you'll love him, just don't stare at his nose."
What's wrong with his nose? you think, alarmed.
James opens the door. Two new voices emerge, one scratchy and a little high, the other smoother. "I need to pee so bad," the scratchy one declares, followed by bounding footsteps up the stairs.
"You alright?" the smoother asks.
You think there's patting, a hug, "I'm brilliant! You smell really nice, Remus, like a garden."
"Lovely."
"In a good way! Come and meet my Y/N, you remember I told you about her nice gel pens?"
James leads the smooth-voiced Remus into the living room. You hurriedly put down your drink and stand, wiping your wet hands in your shirt. You cringe at the darkening fabric but hide your grimace as they stop in front of you.
"Remus, Y/N. Y/N, Remus," James introduces you both.
Remus has a scar across his nose that seems cruelly cut. There's another beside it that starts in his upper lip, both of which end in his eyebrow. You know how self-conscious it feels to be looked at, so you manage to smile and offer your hand without too much of it. He's handsome with his scars, a nice nose with a ridge and brown eyes the colour of caramelised sugar.
"Hello," Remus says, shaking your hand. His is big enough to make yours feel small.
"I invited her early because she's more fun than the rest of our lot," James says, throwing himself down on the sofa and kicking his legs out on the coffee table.
Remus taps your elbow very gently as if to usher you to sit and sits down beside you, enough space to be casual but too little to stop the rampant nerves that blossom in your stomach.
Remus asks about your life. What you're studying, where you're from, if James is being nice to you. While James is touchy in the rough older brother way, scrunching your shoulder and shaking you when you're not expecting it. Remus is touchy in a different way, you find, almost as if he doesn't know he's doing it. His shoe bumps your shoe, his hand falls down between his outer thigh and your own, his knuckles touching your jeans very lightly. He spins in his seat to talk to you.
You don't notice other people arriving, nor the scratchy-voiced friends return. All you can do is look up at Remus with wide eyes. Your nerves meld to something warmer.
"And what do you do?" you ask him.
He smiles like you've wandered into a secret. "I'm trying to write a book."
"He's being a bit much," Sirius says to James, the two now loitering in the doorway with matching beers. You and Remus chatter on, unaware of their running commentary.
"It's a very strong reaction. I knew she'd like him, but I didn't think she'd like him like that." James takes a sip of his drink. Remus asks you a quiet question. You duck your head, playing with your sleeves, and Remus, the bastard, ducks his head to follow your gaze, smiling at you all the while.
James almost chokes, pointing his bottle toward you both as though Sirius isn't already looking. "He's eating it up. I forgot how flirty he is."
"She'll be nice to him, won't she?" Sirius asks, like it's a done deal. To be fair, Remus seems enthralled with you.
"Definitely. She's very nice. Oh, look, that's sick, she's gonna pass out." James winces as Remus takes your arm into his hand.
Remus wouldn't do anything cruel, but James wasn't joking when he told Remus that you were exceedingly, achingly shy. He's about to step in and rescue you, but you turn into Remus' touch and pull your leg up on the sofa to make yourself comfortable. Your voice is animated, if quieter than the average person's.
"Woah," James says, beaming.
Remus flirts almost as a defence, like he wants to get the rejection over and done with so he can move on. You've yet to reject; you're looking up at him in moderate awe, your lips quirked into an easy smile.
"Boo!" James calls, flicking his bottle cap at Remus, who brushes it away. "Took me three weeks to get a smile out of her," he mutters. "What a dick."
Young!Remus Lupin x Reader-Monster Lines
So.....I'm back (sorry it took a little longer than planned!)
Huge thank you to @xacatalepsyx , I couldn't have done this without you my friend! 💛
This is another story based off another trending sound that has been on my TikTok a lot!
I hope you all enjoy this! 💛
It was late, and yet, I’d never felt more awake. It was the night after the full moon, and though I hadn’t expected to see all four of the marauders, my heart sank nonetheless.
I’d only recently learned of Remus’s secret, and it hadn’t made one ounce of difference to me.
But I also knew that this meant a lot to Remus, and I would never want him to think I didn’t take his feelings into consideration.
I could see how heavily this weighed on him.
Though upon learning about his secret, a lot of my questions about the quieter marauder had found their answers; like, why he was always so agitated a week before the full moon, and so tired the week after. Why he always disappeared, only to reappear with new scars and injuries, why he always seemed to be so hyper aware of everything; sight, smell, hearing…
Looking back, I kicked myself for being so stupid, I considered the idea, sure, but the thought was gone as quick as it had come.
He was just… Remus.
The quietest out of the Marauders; but no less brilliant.
He was the man who usually always had his nose in a book; who’s soft brown eyes lit up when he was explaining the plot of the latest tale he’d read. The man who without doubt gave the best hugs in Hogwarts.
And the man who never failed to make me smile, no matter how awful my day had been.
It was his business, his secret , and no matter how curious I might’ve been about him and his life. I had never wanted to pry or interfere.
I’d alway admired him from afar, but when I grew closer to him through the marauders and Lily, my feelings for him had only grown.
I think he felt the same way about me. We had certainly grown so much closer over the past year, and Lily was always pointing out little observations and actions I’d also noticed, so perhaps… Maybe he felt the same way.
He was alway interested in what I was reading or doing, was always there to help me when I needed it, and as of late wasn’t shy of showing me his affection.
He’d alway carry my books, or chase of the boys when their antics were getting too much, he was alway just… him.
Remus John Lupin.
I could feel the butterflies erupt in my stomach at the thought of the way he had gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind me a few weeks ago; it was such a simple and sweet gesture.
Only a few days ago were the two of us downstairs in the common room, in the early hours of the morning. One hand held the book he was reading to me, whilst the other was resting on my side as I laid against him.
After a few hours of reading we just sat together, under a huge Gryffindor blanket wrapped around us both, in a comfortable silence, watching as the fire in front of us flickered.
Had it not been for the fact we heard footsteps coming down the stairs from the dorms; which we later found out was not only Lily but James too, we probably would have stayed there until daylight broke. Just snuggled under that blanket.
He was kind and considerate, yet mischievous and cheeky enough in his own right to keep me on my toes. He wasn’t afraid to be honest with me, and never judged or mocked me for anything.
He was perfect, flaws and all in every way.
But I had always sensed he was hiding something.
There was alway one point of every month where he seemed to close himself off from me.
Even a few days ago; in the common room; when I looked into his gorgeous eyes you could see a flicker of fear, of hesitation. As though his mind was arguing with his heart. I wanted to ask him about it, I wanted to know what thoughts were filling his mind, but before I could he just smiled at me. A soft smile that made my heart race faster than normal, before his eyes made their way back to the book and he continued reading.
Now, I knew why…
He was in the Hospital wing; the other marauders had told me this morning before they reluctantly went back to their dorms to get some sleep. They looked exhausted; and from what Lily had told me this had been one of the rougher nights.
That’s when I decided that I was going to see him.
I didn’t know if he wanted to see anyone, least of all me. He was so angry when he found out that I knew about his secret, but I needed to see him, to make sure he was okay, or ask okay as he could be, no matter how mad he was.
~~~~~
 Remus could only blink at me,as I stood at the entrance of the Hospital Wing. Confusion flooded into his eyes, before his brows furrowed as though trying to figure out if I was really there or if he was imagining things.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” His tone was hushed, and still groggy from sleep.
I winced at the thought that I’d disturbed him from his sleep, maybe now wasn’t the time; he needed rest and I knew that. The last thing I wanted to do was disturb him or make him uncomfortable. I contemplated making a quick apology and walking back out the way I came in,so that he could rest, but now that I’d seen him, I just wanted to stay with him.
I scraped my mind for words, trying to figure out what to say, though I truly didn’t know what to say at the moment, the only thing that I could put together was a single sentence.
“I just, I just wanted to check up on you,” My voice was weak, and I kicked myself for that, however Remus didn’t seem to notice.
“I see, of course you’d be worried about me. I should be the one checking up on you.”
A small sigh of relief left my lips at the realisation as his words registered in my mind.
“Remus-” I began softly, making my way over to the side of his bed.
Gently he placed his hand on top of mine; his thumb lightly stroking the back of my hand.
“Y/N, I’m sorry,” he breathed; as his eyes met mine.
“You don’t have to-“
“I do,” he countered, “I was an absolute dick to you yesterday.”
Yesterday was one of the only times I had seen Remus angry.
Not that his anger was really directed at me; but more at Sirius and James who had been discussing Remus and I.
~~~~~~
“Honestly, I just wish he would ask Y/n out,” Sirius vented, the frustration clear in his voice as he paced backwards and forwards through the practically empty common room.
He knew Remus liked Y/n, he knew Y/n liked Remus; it was clear to everyone, and all Sirius (and the rest of the marauders, plus Lily and Marlene) wanted was to see them happy together.
“You know why he won’t,” James sighed; leaning back on the sofa, his eyes staring up at the ceiling.
“He’s not a monster,” Sirius stated; though his tone was a lot harsher than he meant for it to be, he knew James did not think Remus was a monster. But both of them knew that that’s how Remus viewed himself.
“To some people he is,” Peter mumbled, his eyes momentarily glancing up at Sirius before Sirius shot him a death glare, silencing him very quickly and making a wave of regret wash over Peter at what he said.
But again, even though Sirius hated to admit it, Peter was right. People did view Werewolves as monsters; that’s why Remus was so secretive about it and that’s why Remus viewed himself as nothing more than a monster. He also knew that that was why he wouldn’t tell Y/n, because he was terrified that she would view him as what he thought he was, a monster.
But Y/n wouldn’t think that. Not only was she one of the least judgemental people in the school, she also adored Remus and there was no doubt in Sirius mind that that would ever change. He knew that the love Y/n had for Remus would never change.
That’s why he was so frustrated with his best friend.
“Y/n loves him; I know him being a Werewolf wouldn’t  change those feelings,”
“Umm Padfoot?” Peter attempted to interrupt the middle of Sirius’ vent, but to no avail.
“What Wormtail? Do you seriously think the fact that he’s a Werewolf would change any of the feelings she has for him?” Sirius snapped, glaring at him, before Peter pointed towards the steps that led up to the dorm rooms.
And standing there was Y/n.
Sirius’ face went pale; how long had she been there? How much had she heard? The thoughts raced around in Sirius’ head until he saw a look in her eyes that answered his questions.
She knew.
“Remus is a-”
She halted her words, unable to finish her sentence as the very man she was talking about walked through the door.
“Remus is a what?” He asked, his voice low and his eyes full of pain and anger.
Y/n had not been the only one to overhear his friend's conversation.
“Say it Y/n,” he spat harshly.
“You’re a Werewolf…” she stated, keeping her eyes fixed on his, “Remus-”
“Don’t,” Remus warned, “Just get out Y/n,”
“Moony-” Sirius started, attempting to calm his friend down but to no avail. Sirius didn’t even get to finish his sentence before Remus had pushed him against the nearest wall.
Y/n had never seen Remus violent. Ever. Especially not physically.
“Remus-” Y/n began; only earning another glare from Remus.
“Out, now,” he snarled, before turning his attention back to Sirius.
Y/n didn’t really get much say in the matter; she couldn’t say anything before James had picked her up and carried her out of the room; simply telling her to go and find Lily.
~~~~~~
I wanted to make him see, to understand that I was aware of his situation, and yet I still wanted to pursue something with him.
“Remus; you don’t have to worry about it,” I assured him.
“I am a monster you know,”
“Who told you that?”
“Look at me,” was simply his answer as he motioned his hands at himself in disgust and the sight breaks your heart. He says nothing after that, closing in on himself again, and I took this opportunity to truly close the distance between us.
I took a seat on the bed next to him, turning to face him. Then,I turned that had been placed on top of mine, over, so that his palm was facing up towards him.
“Why?” His eyes narrow, studying you for an answer, though you don’t give him one, merely insist gently.
“Just let me see it.”
Even though the butterflies in my stomach were fluttering away like there was no tomorrow, I had to ignore them. Right now, I needed to focus.
I narrowed my eyes as I dropped my gaze towards his palm, intently studying the lines upon his skin.
“Hmm…” reaching out a finger to one just below his index finger, gently tracing the length of it towards the other side of his hand, “a long life line.”
I felt his body shiver slightly at the sensation, before I continued  my observations; my attention immediately grabbed by the line just below.
“Oh and this one, means you’re shy.” I glanced up at  him with a small grin and he in tune huffs a laugh at my antics, though I did notice a slight redness to his cheeks.
“Hmm… hm, hm, hm… well that’s funny…” Y/n softly continued; moving his hand just a little closer as her eyes narrowed.
“What?” The tone that laced his voice was evidence enough of his panic.
“I don’t see any…”
“Any what?”
“Monster lines,” I answered, the smile on my face growing, “Not a single one and the lines don’t lie.”
I gently raised my other hand to his face; making sure to be careful of the small cuts that were scattered over his soft skin, before starting to rub his cheek soothingly, “I love you, Rem and I promise you that you are no more a monster than I am.”
“But-”
This time it was my turn to interrupt Remus’ words, but I didn't do it with my own words; no, I did it by placing my lips on his before Remus could utter another word.
“You are not a monster,” I mumbled against his lips, “And I will remind you of that every single day.”
“Y/n,” he whispered; the softness in his voice made every single butterfly in my stomach erupt before he pulled me back down for another kiss, before saying the words I’d longed to hear from his lips, “I love you too.”

No One Like You - R.L
Summary: Remus understands there’s no one like you.
Warnings: Swearing, crying, heartbreak.
Mutual Tags: @mad-elia @garfieldsladybird @sagesworlddd @lalaland06
As much as he wanted to he couldn’t get you out of his head, your laugh, your smile, your eyes, your fucking voice. It was all drilled into his head, haunting him as he attempted to sleep.
Breaking up with you was by far the worst thing he could’ve done, there was no rational thought behind it. He just wanted to hurt you because he was upset, Remus thought with his heart instead of his head and you couldn’t blame him.
He’d finally had enough one sleepless morning as he rose from his bed. Sirius and James were worried about him, his tall figure sulking around the entire day made them wonder.
Remus felt angry he’d let you go, he wanted nothing more than to get you back so that’s exactly what he chose to do.
He’d asked you to meet him after herbology class, he remembered it to be your favourite. ‘Maybe you wouldn’t be upset if you just had your favourite lesson’ he thought.
Surprisingly you accepted and now here you stood, under a random staircase in some abandoned hallway after everyone had gone to lesson.
“What’s up?” You asked happily.
Remus scratched the back of his neck thinking about his next words very carefully which was something he rarely done. “I want you back.”
Your face dropped completely starstruck to what he’d just said. Remus Lupin, the boy who broke your heart mere weeks ago wanted you back.
Your arms crossed over your chest, “Weren’t you the one who ended things?”
He nodded, “I know and I’ve regretted it every single day since.” He finally met your eyes for the first time.
“You can’t be serious, you put me through hell, Lupin. Fucking hell.” Your voice rose with every word you said, eyebrow quivering in anger.
“Fuck,” he exclaimed quietly, “I know I fucked up (y/n) you gotta believe me.”
You were in disbelief, Remus wanted you back and of course after all those weeks of mourning your relationship and happiness you got what you wanted, so why did it feel so weird?
“We can be friends instead.” The dreaded words left your lips along with a couple salty tears. Remus looked up as soon as he heard your sniffle.
“(Y/n) please don’t-“
“(Y/n) please don’t what?! You’re being so selfish right now Remus, you can’t just come asking me to get back with you and expect me to jump into your arms. This isn’t a fucking movie.” Your tears turned from sadness to anger and he knew it, he knew the look you were giving him wishing he never said anything.
“I tried to move on,” he said quietly. “but no one is you.”
You scoffed, “Do i look like I’ve moved on?”
“No.”
You held your hands at your side in defeat nodding slowly, he didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to. Remus held your hand and pulled your body into his, wrapping his longer arms over your shoulders.
“I don’t know what I was thinking, I’m sorry.” He whispered into your hair, kissing the top of it.
Just as he thought to give up, a miracle came. “I want you back too.”
