Remus was desperate for you. He needed to taste you, to make you his and him yours. As it was nearing the full moon, you understood that he got a lot more… sexual during that time.
The two of you have skipped class, currently in Remus’ dorm, making out on his bed, your shirt unbuttoned and his shirt off. He started to kiss down your body, his hand pulling your underwear down you leg. When he reached i between your legs, his tongue barely grazed your clit, your fingers flew to his hair tangling themselves in it.
Remus wasn't sure what was sweeter, your taste or the sounds falling from your lips. He knew what it took to push you over that edge and enjoyed feeling your body shake. He continued to lap at your clit until you pushed his head away, gasping. He leaned back from you, slipping a finger into you to replace his tongue. You clenched hard around his fingers, cursing lightly when he added a second and curled them up to hit that spot inside of you that he knew would have you seeing stars.
Your hands gripped the sheets tightly, the sound of his name being moaned from you was everything. He could feel when you were close right, right as you were reaching the climax suddenly the door was slammed open. “Hey Remus, why weren’t you in class-“ Sirius started to say but stopped when he saw the view in front of him.
Remus’ face in between your thighs with his fingers in deep. “Oh my god.” James muttered, also being hypnotised by the scene in front of him.
When you heard voices, you glanced towards the door and your eyes widened. You tried to pull Remus away from you but the boy only attached his lips to your clit once again causing you to moan out loud.
Sirius and James stood frozen, their hearts pounding as they beheld the sight before them. For Sirius, he has been crushing on you since third year; for James, it had started in fourth. When Remus revealed he was dating you, jealousy was the only was to explain their emotions.
In this moment, they longed to be in Remus' shoes, but you throwing a pillow at them had snapped them back to reality. Hastily, they retreated from the room, the door slamming behind them.

evan rosier and regulus black.
the two names that have seemed to never leave your brain since the beginning of 8th year. two people you were never supposed to get involved with nor did you think youd ever even talk to without it being harsh words or hex’s but here you were having feelings for and relations with them.
evans dirty blonde curls and regulus’ grey eyes never seemed to leave your mind just like your frame and scent never left theirs, but at least they could express their feelings and needs with each other and you were stuck with inner monologues and your hand to satisfy yourself til the right time came.
one thing you all had in common was your friends hating the other person. evan had gotten more irritable and his patience was wearing thin when Mulciber or barty talked about you and regulus had to stop evan from lashing out at them and starting something that would be hell to finish, it was almost the same with your friends, james’ passive aggressive comments about regulus made you want to put him in his place but you refrained and remus and peter’s comments on evan made your blood boil as they talked shit about something they actually had no idea about.
sirius was a big factor, you knew hed be hurt if he found out you were fucking his brother and his brothers best friend behind his back but you never meant to get tangled up in regulus’ and evans web. the more you thought about it a lot of your friends would be disappointed so maybe that should’ve told you to cut it off after the first time but it was like a drug, the more you tried to stay away the more your want and need for it grew and eventually you gave in.
your bracelet vibrated once more, it was a gift from both of them to help make communicating better.
the three of you finally met up in the prefect bathroom durning dinner one night, regulus happily told you that him and evan were staying an extra day before going home for the break and that you should try so you all could spend time together before leaving.
and now here you were, almost everyone was gone for winter break and you were one of the few gryffindors left but there was just one problem, remus, remus fucking lupin had also decided to stay an extra day because he had been helping ms pince in the library. knowing remus he had the map, and would defiantly check it he if thought you were acting weird.
watching remus from your seat next to the fire, waiting for him to say he was gonna nap or walk around or go to the library, hoping and praying that he would say something like that so you could leave and get to evan and regulus’ dorm as fast as you could. your bracelet buzzed against your skin once more, you already knew which one was trying to give you the green light as to come to them.
normally it was evan, who only buzzed it once and then a second time if you were really really late; but today it was regulus, the constant buzzing at random times indicated that. you’d tease him about it since it seemed as if he couldn’t wait, you could imagine him mumbling the spell on the bracelet they had and waiting for you to show up at the speed of light and then doing it over and over when you were taking your time to get there.
jumping a little when remus coughed and got up and stretched. “i gotta go to the library, wanna meet up and walk to dinner together later?” remus asked, grabbing his wand and book then fixing his shirt while waiting for you to answer.
you nodded, “yeah ill come up to the library so you dont have to walk all the way over to get me” you said and smiled at him. remus nodded and left the common room.
muttering the spell towards the bracelet to let them know you were on your way. waiting a bit so you knew remus was far away before leaving the common room.
the bracelet buzzing again, making you smile and think about how to tease regulus about it in a bit. turning the corner as you kept looking around for any other people but luckily there was no one around.
evan was waiting for you beside slytherin common room, you watched him play with his sleeve before he looked up and saw you.
crossing his arms with a smile on his face as you got closer then reaching out and pulling you to him.
lips already going at each other and hands roaming and gripping at clothing and skin, hungry and needy for each other from being away for so long. the amount of glances and fantasizing while looking at the other person was gone and replaced with what you both desired, the real fucking thing.
pulling away to catch your breath, hands rubbing against his chest as your back was now up against the cold stone.
“you have no idea how much we missed you” evan whispered, his lips coming back to yours for a quick kiss before pulling away and resting his forehead against yours.
“i think i know by how many times hes buzzed me” you quipped, and evan instantly laughed and shook his head.
“i told him to quit, that you’d be here when you’d get here but hes basically cumming in his pants at anything that has to do with you” evan said, the happy tone in his voice made your heart flutter. you giggled and mumbled the spell to the bracelet, sending two buzzes to let him know you were and it buzzed back almost instantly which made you and evan bust out laughing.
“well, lets not leave him waiting” you laughed and took evans hand, pulling him towards the common room door. evan said the password and looked around to see if the common room had anyone in it, luckily no one was in there.
evan guided you to their dorm, all their dorm mates were gone leaving it the perfect spot.
regulus’ leg bounced up and down, he was excited to see you and get off since evan had been denying him since the night they found out they were staying too, no matter how hard regulus begged for evan to touch him or if he wanted to touch himself the answer was “no, you’ll thank me later” and regulus knew he probably would.
evan snuck you into the room, making sure no one would see you in case they just showed up out of nowhere. regulus jumped up when he heard the door click open. a smile coming onto his face almost instantly.
seeing them used to be awkward but now it was just like hanging out with your friends but so much more intimate, you wished you could be around them all the time which is crazy now since almost a year ago you didn’t like them and they did not like you.
the transition from seeing you again to already getting intimate was smooth and quick, it didn't feel forced like you were just there to have sex with them and then leave, it was loving and like you all had come home from a date together.
you sat on the side of evans bed, regulus was on his knees taking your pajama bottoms off, you could see his hard on in his pants.
“reggie you’re already hard, we’ve barely even started” you teased, regulus whined a bit at you pointing it out, he was aching, had been since he knew today was the day you were coming.
“told you he was practically cumming in his pants” evan quipped as he unbuttoned his shirt.
“I wouldn't be if you had let me cum” regulus snapped back, making evan laugh. you smiled then pouted at regulus.
“he’s so mean isn’t he, i’ll make sure you cum tonight baby” you said to him as you took the bottom of his shirt and pulled it up and off him. regulus had scars, not at many as sirius and definitely not as many as remus. he told you about them once, one day on the astronomy tower late into the night.
“thank you” regulus mumbled and side eyed evan. you took off your shirt and looked at evan, he was undoing his pants.
“how about you show her how thankful you really are” evan said with a smirk, regulus looked up at you.
“can i?” he asked, you nodded your head and regulus’ hands went to your panties and pulled them down quickly.
“good boy” evan praises him, your hand went to evans cock which was covered by his boxers. regulus kissed your thighs a few times before licking your slit.
regulus moved your leg over his shoulder, his tongue getting faster as you were getting more turned on. evan leaned down to kiss you, his hand going to your jaw.
you moaned as evan kissed you, regulus’ tongue was lapping at your clit quickly. evans grip on your jaw held you where he wanted you, you continued to touch evans cock.
you pulled down his boxers, he was as hard as regulus now, you broke the kiss and brought your hand to your mouth and spit before stroking his cock.
evan groaned and rolled his head back, you focused on his tip then started stroking him from his base to his tip over and over.
regulus pressed kisses on your clit before sucking then moving down to your entrance. he spread you apart with his fingers, his cock straining in his boxers made him think about touching himself but he wanted to be good for both of you.
“you’re doing so good reggie” you moaned, evan grinned and watched regulus.
a few minutes later you were struggling to keep your hand going, you were so close to cumming, evan knew it and so did regulus, reggie was going faster.
“i think that's enough reg, i think its her turn to make you feel good” evan said, regulus whined and pulled away from you.
regulus leaned up and locked your lips with his, evan started moving his hips while you kept stroking him. regulus pushed himself against his boxers, he was trying so hard to be good.
evan watched you two, his hand moving down to yours, he guided you— making your touches on him more firm. your other hand snaked down into regulus’ boxers and once he felt your soft hand grasping his cock his body shivered and pushed into you.
you could hear evan laugh softly. you smiled as you teased regulus, making him shudder and break the kiss multiple times.
regulus broke the kiss and rested his forehead on your shoulder.
“please—please, keep touching me— i'm almost there” regulus begged, his eyes were closed tightly and he pressed more into you.
you glanced at evan, silently asking for permission.
evan grabbed regulus by his hair gently, pulling his head back to look at him.
“why would you want to cum in her hand when i was gonna let you cum in her” evan asked, cocking his head slightly and furrowing his brows. you stopped touching regulus, pulling your hand out of his boxers.
“what do you wanna do reggie?” you asked him, placing a kiss on his neck.
regulus lets out a sigh, “i wanna cum in you” he says with a nod.
evan let go of regulus’ hair, your hand dropped from evan as he took a step back and walked to the other side of the bed.
“lay down regulus” he commanded, regulus moved from you and got onto the bed, you turned to watch them.
evan guided regulus onto his back, moving his head to hang off the edge of the bed a bit. your hand moved to regulus’ thigh, rubbing up and down and inching closer to his boxers.
you moved closer to regulus, now hooking your fingers on his waist band.
“you remember don’t you? tap my thigh three times for me to stop” evan reminded him, regulus nodded and hummed in agreement, you and regulus made eye contact as you pulled his boxers down to his mid thigh.
“i love you” you mouthed to him, his face went a bit red before he mouthed it back.
evan smiled as you moved to straddle regulus. he leaned towards you, locking your lips with his for a few moments.
he pulled back, “are you ready?” he whispered softly.
“more than ready” you said, pressing one last kiss on his lips before sinking down onto regulus’ cock.
a sigh came from both of you, you hadn’t had him in so long and it just feels so right. regulus was covered in goosebumps, the feeling of you around him felt so good.
evan tapped regulus’ mouth with his cock. “open your mouth baby” he instructed. evan’s cock glided into regulus’ mouth smoothly, regulus was basically trained to take evan, you three just started and regulus was practically deep throating him.
regulus’ eyes closed and he moved one hand to evan’s thigh and the other to yours. you could see the outline of evan’s cock in regulus’ throat which made you wetter. you started moving your body up and down, trying to find the right spot where your clit would make contact with his pubic area.
“you’re doing so good reggie, being so good for us” you praised, your hand rested on his ribs and the other on the bed. evan could feel regulus whimper, the vibrations took some air from him.
“he really liked that” evan groaned out as he fucked regulus’ mouth faster. you could hear noises coming from regulus as he took evans cock, his nails digging into the skin of your thigh.
you threw your head back as you found the right spot, your clit dragging on his skin and his cock hitting your sweet spot. evan watched you, he missed you so much and was so relieved there was time for you three to be together, he didn’t care if you three just sat in silence, he just wanted to be with you and regulus.
“you’re so pretty darling” evan moaned, his hand grasping your neck gently, you smiled at him and leaned closer to him. your head was still a little tilted back and evan bent to meet you halfway. a sloppy kiss broke out between you two, you tried to keep up but with the friction on your clit it was getting harder to keep a clear head.
evan kept his thrusts at a good pace with a few stops in between so regulus could get a breath, he could feel every moan and whimper regulus produced.
you pulled at evans lip with your teeth teasingly.
“i love you” you whispered into the kiss and evan moaned it back.
you gasped when you felt regulus cum inside you, painting your insides with his cum. your cunt basically milked him, it started to run down out of you and onto the part of his shaft that was exposed and down his balls.
reggie was trembling, you could feel it. Now the knot in your stomach was getting tighter, regulus’ hand was gripping your thigh harsher.
you muttered cuss words as you tried to chase your climax, you were close, so close you could feel the beginning of it. you twisted the bed sheets in your fist as you tried to keep the friction on your sensitive clit up.
evan pressed his lips to your forehead, you watched evan’s dick move in regulus’ throat. you knew you were probably overstimulating reggie.
you clenched around his cock which made regulus whine.
you moaned as you clenched harder, you tried to keep moving as you came, trying to get as much stimulation as possible, your muscles tensed up and your abdomen trembled.
evan was soon to follow, his breathing getting quicker as he could barely stand any more stimulation from regulus. his cum shooting down regulus’ throat, he could feel regulus swallowing everything he gave him and once he was empty evan pulled out of regulus’ mouth.
Regulus took in a few deep breaths and coughed a few times. you gently laid on regulus, your head resting on his chest, his cock still in your cunt. regulus’ hand came to your back, tracing shapes on your skin.
“you took me so good reggie, i’m so proud of you baby” evan praised, leaning down to kiss regulus’ forehead.
you hummed in agreement with evan, “we’re both so proud of you” you added. regulus smiled and mumbled a ‘thank you,’ you felt evan place a hand on your head, ruffling your hair.
“you alright darling?” he asked, you smiled and nodded.
“just perfect” you responded.

full moon remus
so this is just smth I wrote for a fic once and never used so here you go (found it in my notes app)
warnings: nsfw
you were surprised by how sexual remus actually was. around a new moon he could be sweet and passionate but if it was the week before the full moon he’d rail the shit out of you, no matter what, fuck you dumb, eat you out, no, scratch that, devour you for hours straight, his tongue lapping repeatedly, making you see stars, nearly pass out from exhaustion and scream his name in ecstasy. he was quite literally obsessed with the way you tasted. eating you out was his favourite thing in the world and if you took that from him- oh boy.
‘one more, pretty girl.’
that’s what he’d say to you.
‘one more, dovey. for me?’
‘just one more, darling.’
and it was always one more with him. that was not the only thing he told you. you were his, and only his. that’s what he told you and you agreed dumbly, loving the attention he payed to you, the way he spoiled you and every part of you body. he was covering you with hickeys, turning your legs into jello, as he said, and the marks would be visible for days to come, his words again.
‘so everyone knows who you belong to.’
he was rough, pounding into you at a brutal pace and impossibly deep. and you loved it, every second of it.
‘You’re not walking, love. Just accept it.’
that was where you found yourself often; occupying the boys’ dorm, (only sometimes) a silencing spell on the door and a sock over the handle. you were a sweaty and moaning mess of his doing. and he’d keep fucking you against the headboard, fucking you brainless, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips while his forest green eyes, full of lust, were locked with yours, which were begging him for a break of the overstimulation and edging at the same time. after he was done ruining you, he’d return to being the sweet and innocent boy everybody saw him as, treating you like his princess, acting like he didn’t whisper all those things in your ear nor degrade you nor make you kneel for him. remus would run a bath for the both of you after, take good care of you, wash your hair and body for you, draw you close to his chest, whisper quiet ‘I love you’s and if you fell asleep he’d carry you to bed without waking you up, no matter the circumstances.
he spoiled you in every way possible.
(a/n: now I’m kinda cringing at this, hope you like it tho. could you maybeeeee 👉🏻👈🏻 reblog bc that’s how you support writers on here????? thanks 💙 luv ya)

To be honest you weren't sure when he started calling out random words, but he had, and it was confusing everyone.
You were reading a book when Sirius came a laid his head on your lap and James sat on the floor and rested his head on your knee. Before he got comfortable, he snatched the book out of your hands. So, to distract yourself from being bored you sunk your hands into both boys' hair.
"Honey pot?" Sirius called out, "No too lame" came James' voice immediately after. You looked at Remus for help, instead of helping he smiled and went back to writing his homework.
"traitor" you muttered angrily. Both boys looked at you, "no sorry love too uh—"
"Violent?" Sirius offered finishing James' sentence. You heard Remus muffle his laughter and you sent him a glare.
You watched James' eyes light up, "Sweets!"
"Shit, that's actually a good one" and he handed James six galleons.
James took it happily, "now it's just you Padfoot."
Sirius stuck his tongue out at James and went back to thinking.
"Jamie, sweetheart what are two doing?"
James turned to look at you. "Well, we're trying to find a pet name for you, one that only we can call you."
And suddenly it all made sense to you, the hour the three of you spent in this position was to find a pet names for you? You suffered sitting there bored for an hour when they could've found their own time for this. You sighed, "of course"
"Padfoot, padfoot... padfoot" The both of you watched Sirius mutter 'Padfoot' over and over again. "Is he okay?"
Suddenly the long-haired boy shot up missing your head by centimeters and shouted, "I got it!"
He quickly spun around and grabbed both your hands in his while looking you in the eyes he shouted out, "Puppy!"
You look at him, then James and then Remus. When your gaze fell back onto Sirius you felt your cheeks heat up and you hid your face in his neck. "I hate you."
You felt his smile as he put his lips closer to your ears, "you obviously don't if you're reacting this way pup."
"Hey! Hey no!" James yelled out as Remus laughed silently. "You can't call her that, her patronus is a panther."
Sirius shrugged, "so then I'll call her Kitten"
"No" and James pushed Sirius off you and onto the floor and took his place holding you.

You’re So Pretty I (Remus Lupin x Reader)
Tumblr media
(GIF not mine)
A/N: Remus and you very clearly like each other, however, hes convinced you have a crush on a mutual best friend. Friend-to-lovers, fem!oblivious!reader, jealous!Remus, mutual pining
Loosely influenced by the song “ur so pretty” by Wasia Project.
word count: 3.9k
________
“Going on another study date, Y/N?” Marlene asked as she watched her dorm mate gather up her books and a couple scrolls into her bag. Y/N rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Don’t lie to yourself. You aren’t just going to study.”
“As a matter of fact, I am going to just study.”
The blonde haired girl wasn’t the only one that pestered Y/N about her crush. Despite never admitting to it directly, her friends ganged up on her and joked about it fairly often. “You won’t learn anything from drooling over Lupin the whole time,” Marlene laughed.
“I do not drool over Remus. He’s just a good study partner.”
“Whatever you say.”
She finished packing her bag and making sure her uniform was straight. Her hands slid down her skirt to smooth it out and through her hair as she looked into the standing mirror. Wanting to look presentable did not mean she was trying to impress him. Definitely not. She just didn’t want to look unkempt, is all.
When she was confident she didn’t look like she just rolled out of bed, she turned to leave her dorm and head to the library. She waved to Marlene who made a heart shape with her hands jokingly. After so long, she’d gotten used to the teasing though, just dismissing her with a ‘tsk’.
She left the common room without another confrontation by one of her friends, walking leisurely to the library where her transfiguration textbook waited. She was never the best in transfiguration, or charms, or defense against the dark arts; truthfully she wasn’t very good at anything most people would would consider important. Her saving grace was care for magical creatures.
Sometimes she felt herself grow so embarrassed by her lack of skill, but Remus never made fun of her for it. He helped her fix the issue, and she was grateful to him for that. He was probably the only reason she passed her classes the past few years.
Kids bustled around the halls and the stairways as she walked through the castle. The sound of her feet clicking on the marble floors kept her occupied as she walked through the familiar walkways. She listened in on some conversations as she passed by, eavesdropping when she shouldn’t.
The only other thing on her mind was her study partner, who she found herself growing awfully attached to over their years at Hogwarts. Now that they were in their seventh year, she occasionally felt herself completely consumed by her crush on him, which she quickly tried to correct by thinking of something else.
It wasn’t that she wanted to smother down her crush on the boy, she just didn’t want it to take over her life. It would never happen, and the inevitable rejection would destroy her. It was normal for her to not get her hopes up, terrified of being disappointed in the end.
Sometimes, she just wanted to forget about him and fancy someone actually obtainable. Someone like the hoard of boys that confessed to her over the years, bringing her flowers and candy and sweet love notes. Only she didn’t like them and couldn’t bring herself to pretend. Her friends asked why she never accepted any of the propositions, to which she would just say she was waiting for someone specific.
Eventually some of her friends figured out who she liked. At first it was Lily, and then the rest of the girls followed suit after seeing her interact with the tall boy enough times. She suspected that Sirius knew as well, knowing how perceptive he was. He would send her some suggestive looks now and again when Remus wasn’t looking, which she just ignored for the most part.
Still, no matter how hard she fought it, she fell deeper and deeper into her infatuation with Remus Lupin. She thought he was the most handsome, smart, kind boy she’d ever met. He was just perfect in her eyes. He could do no wrong.
And so, she found herself drowning in her feelings for the boy. Honestly, it was difficult to keep afloat. To be around him and pretend she just wanted to be a friend. To pretend she didn’t want to cuddle him when they sat on the couch together. To pretend she didn’t want to kiss him every time he smiled her way.
Before entering the library, she took a deep breath and smoothed down her hair once more. Confident in her ability to socialize with him without completely falling apart, she pushed open the heavy wood door and into the large room filled with whispering voices and floating textbooks.
Remus sat in their normal spot towards the corner where not a lot of people crowded around. It was quieter, and he preferred that. For Y/N, she was just happy to get more one on one time with him. The other marauders wouldn’t step foot in the library so she didn’t worry about them. Lily maintained her distance when she was studying. She wanted to give the pair some “private time”, as she had said once when teasing her friend.
“Hey, Rem,” she quietly greeted him, giving him a small wave. He peered up from the novel he was reading, giving her a warm smile back. It was adorable. Everything he did was adorable, really.
She took a seat beside him, setting her bag to the side. She pulled out her transfiguration textbook. He was particularly good in this subject, so this would be easier than something like Charms.
“How are you?” He asked.
“I’m fine. How was your day?”
“It was okay. The guys are planning a new prank for tomorrow so they’ve been pestering me about that,” he told her, and she nodded. He loved their pranks secretly, not wanting to come across as immature. Not to mention, James could be a little overwhelming. Especially when he spent the nights with Sirius planning, keeping the other two boys awake.
She grinned brightly. “Oh really? What are they gonna do?” She loved pranks, as long as they weren’t directed towards her. They were an escape from the strictness of the school, not to mention a relief when certain Slytherin were involved.
“Stink bombs in the Slytherin locker room. Nothing fancy.”
“Sounds exciting.”
“I suppose.”
Her eyes trailed down the book that was sitting in his lap now. To get a better look, she leaned closer to him and tried to read the upside text. “What are you reading today?” It was normal that they exchanged books after reading it, that way they could discuss the novels together once they were both done.
“Shakespeare.”
Her eyes widened and she urged him on, “What play?”
“Midsummer’s Night Dream.”
“That’s my favorite! I'm so glad you’re reading it,” she told him happily, clapping her hands together from excitement. As a muggle born witch, she loved when her friends experienced a bit of her world. Shakespeare was just a taste. He’d read a couple other muggle books before, but mainly it was novels by famous wizards and witches.
He smiled, tucking the book into his own bag. “I know. That’s why I picked it.”
“You remembered! I’m excited to talk to you about it when you’re done.” He had to look away from her face. She was so beautiful when she got excited, it made him want to swoop in and give her a thousand little kisses. Of course, he wasn’t insane, so he wasn’t going to do that. He was always looking at her, catching glimpses of her captivating smile and her sparkling eyes. When she looked away, he peered over at her and just watched, regardless of where they were. In class, while studying, in the common rooms. He couldn’t help but stare.
It wasn’t a coincidence he picked her favorite play. He wanted to see her get all giddy because of their two person book club. Anything to see her happy. It seemed he had successfully achieved that, too.
“So what did you need help with?”
“Well, I’m not quite sure. I’m doing well in all my classes right now. Probably because of you, but still,” she told him. Honestly, she never really wanted to study, it was just her way of hanging out with Remus for a while. “Do you want to do something else other than sit in here?” Y/N asked, a bit nervous he might say no.
He leaned on his elbow, cheek pressed to his palm. “Depends. What do you have in mind?” He asked, even though he knew he’d say yes to basically anything she could ask. She could ask him to join her in the broom closet for a snog and he would agree.
She thought for a moment, tapping a finger on her lips as she pondered what they could do. There wasn’t anything she desperately needed done, and it wasn’t close to dinner yet.
“Do you want to come with me to feed the nifflers and diricawls?” It was the only class she excelled in. Hagrid allowed her to come and visit the animals as often as she wished, knowing her to be quite talented at the subject. It was rare to be so compatible with the beasts, but she’d done it.
He wasn’t the biggest fan of the class, and had not taken it for a couple years. Still, he was willing to do just about anything for her. “Let’s go then.” He nodded, gathering up his belongings and tucking them down into his bag. She did the same with her textbook which she never actually opened anyway.
He took her bag from her without her asking. He always carried her books if they were walking somewhere together. She figured it was just him being polite. James would do the same, bragging about his impressive strength. She was grateful though, and walked beside him with her hands in her cardigan pockets.
As they turned the corner, entering the main corridor, she caught the eye of a familiar face, one that Remus thought was busy with Quidditch practice for the time being. “Sirius!” she called, waving over at him with a newfound grin on her face, teeth showing and eyes bright. He looked up from Mary and Alice, who also waved in the pair’s direction.
“Fancy seeing you here, Angel,” he hummed, but opened his arms as he usually did for a hug. She threw herself into his arms and he squeezed her tight, maybe even too tight in Remus’ opinion. She pulled back, peering up at him before nodding to the other two Gryffindor girls.
“Hi, Mary, Alice,” she hummed sweetly. They happily greeted their friend with warm smiles.
Remus almost felt himself move past his surge of jealousy, if he hadn’t seen Sirius rest the palm of his hand on her lower back when he stepped to the side to face the rest of the group. He never understood why the two of them were so close, and why Sirius practically hung off her shoulder when the two were together. The two were just best friends, from all he could tell, but it sure felt like more. Sirius wasn’t known for settling for one girl, he preferred to leave his options open. Surely, he didn’t have a crush on her.
Remus could only hope.
“Moony, where are you two off to?” Mary asked. While Remus looked at the brunette, answering her question, he missed the look that Alice sent Y/N. She raised her brows, her eyes flicking between the pair. Y/N felt her cheeks heat up at the notion that her and Remus were hanging out as anything other than friends. The girls loved to taunt her, probably because they consistently got a rise out of her.
“The creature pens outside,” he replied, gloomier than he wanted to sound. “I thought you guys had practice today?”
Sirius shrugged, “It was postponed for an hour. Something about the weather. I thought you two normally studied on Thursday afternoons.”
“I’ve been doing well enough in my classes that I figured I deserved a well earned break,” she told the three of her quidditch-playing friends.
“Well, I guess we should leave you to it, right, ladies?” the raven-haired boy asked. Bidding the two study partners a goodbye before trailing off with Alice and Mary in tow. Y/N waved while Remus just watched with a defeated look on his face. He always felt defeated when seeing Sirius and Y/N together.
For the rest of the trek out to the animal pens, they walked beside each other silently, just navigating the halls in thought. She could only think about how close he stood beside her, and how attractive it was that he carried her bag for her. A dazed smile was left on her lips and she stared at her feet to avoid him seeing how happy he made her. She was such a lovestruck fool. It was obvious.
It was cold outside but not quite snowy yet. She cuddled into her thick cardigan, wondering if he was cold in just his sweater and uniform shirt. The leaves had fallen from all the trees, crinkling under their footsteps. The sky was white, indicating a storm was brewing, potentially snow considering it was December. A few other students hung out in the courtyard, playing games with each other or sitting by the gardens talking. Not a single person was hanging around the animal pens.
She stopped when they neared the small building beside the care for magical creatures classroom. The diricawls and nifflers were inside this time of year so she pushed open the door to the shelter. Inside, they were met with a dozen or so diricawls walking around on some freshly laid hay.
She turned to Remus and grinned, pointing to a diricawl with three black spots on its head. “This one is my favorite. His name is Cookie. Isn’t he just the cutest?” She asked.
He shut the door behind them so none of the creatures escaped. “You named him Cookie?”
“Yeah, because he’s so sweet.”
She walked over to the food barrel and scooped out two handfuls of food. She tossed onto the ground beside the animals, but kept a few pieces in her hand. With her free hand she urged Remus to come closer.
He did as she asked. “Here, you can feed Cookie this time,” she told him, handing him the pieces of kibble. It was exciting to share her passions with him. He was happy she just included him in the first place. He wanted her to invite him into all aspects of her life. What classes she liked, her favorite books, favorite songs, her favorite holiday, and favorite food. It was like a collection he wanted so badly to complete. To complete her and all her quirks.
He took the kibble from her hand. “How do I feed him?” He asked.
“Didn’t you pay any attention in class?” She joked, but patted his shoulder nonetheless. “By hand, if you want. He doesn’t bite,” she laughed. He knelt down closer to the creature and extended his hand, looking to her for guidance. She gave him a very enthusiastic thumbs up. Soon enough, the little bird was taking food from his palm and munching on his snack.
When he was finished and stood back up, she couldn’t help herself but hug him from the side, pressing her face to his arm. “Y/N?” His heart was skipping a beat. He patted her on the head gently, feeling a bit too awkward to hug her back. Even if he loved her being pressed so close to him, he couldn’t function when the real thing happened.
She answered with so much glee in her voice, “I’m just so happy you came with me. No one ever comes with me to feed these little guys. Always too busy with quidditch or hanging out in the common rooms.”
“It’s no big deal. If it makes you happy, it makes me happy too.”
Her stomach was doing somersaults and her heart raced at his kind words. She took a step back and straightened herself out again. “Thanks, Rem. You’re such a sweetheart.”
If his face wasn’t red already, it certainly was now. She looked like an angel standing there, the diricawls gathered at her legs like her own little army of birds. He loved the way her Gryffindor cardigan swallowed her up. He loved the way some stray hairs fell into her face as she glanced down at the ground. He thought it was adorable how she fiddled with her fingers when she was nervous.
It was admirable how she treated the animals, the things she loved. Even if she wasn’t the smartest book-wise, she was friendly and kind, to animals and humans alike.
Most importantly, there wasn’t any judgment from her when she found he was a werewolf. She caught the boys carrying him up the common room stairs one day in the early hours of the morning, and from then on she doted on him. She gathered ingredients from her furry or scaly companions, persistent in making healing potions for him, different creams and salves for his wounds. She worked long hours in the Potions room with Slughorn’s permission, desperate to make something that would ease his suffering.
She’d come up to their dorm after the full moon and take care of him each time, cleaning his wounds and doing the best she could with her limited knowledge of healing spells. Over time, she got better, nearly perfecting her spell casting, all for him.
That was when he started to fall for her. No one had ever cared for him like she did. As Sirius liked to call her, Y/N truly was an angel, he was sure of it. Sirius might have meant it as a joke, but Remus came to find the nickname truer than any other. True like he was Moony and their friend was Padfoot.
She pointed over to a few cages to their right, where the nifflers lived. The cage was decorated with shiny things, silver necklaces and some gold coins, probably the result of a thieving niffler.
“Do you want to feed the nifflers now?”
“Anything you want, love.”
———
While James was chasing after Lily Evans, and Sirius was busy romancing Marlene McKinnon, Y/N sat back on the couch beside Remus Lupin. Peter sat on the floor by her feet, resting his head against the sofa cushions. She’d grabbed three cups and a pot of hot tea for her and her couple of friends as they watched the flickering of the fire before them.
While the more outgoing of the friend group were always off doing something, this left just the quieter three hanging around amongst themselves. It was peaceful. Remus read his book silently while Y/N and Peter talked about the newest gossip from that day. Peter was great to talk to. He always listened intently, and could discuss basically anything she could think of. She supposed he was just happy that the cooler marauders let him hang around.
She took a sip of her drink and sighed, the warmth of a nice cup of tea soothing her otherwise freezing cold frame. She grabbed the blanket from the back of the couch and wrapped herself up. It was nearing Christmas, which meant many things.
It meant that she would have to sit outside in the freezing cold during every quidditch match. It meant going to Hogsmeade every weekend and filling up on butterbeer and goodies from Honeydukes. It meant spending more time huddled up on the couch with her friends sitting around the fire, laughing all night long.
She drifted off into her own thoughts for a moment, completely missing the question that Peter had just asked. She felt a tap on her knee and blinked away that dazed look in her eye.
“What was that, Peter?”
“I asked, do you have any plans for Hogsmeade this weekend?” he said once again. She tapped the side of her teacup in thought. She originally planned on staying inside over the weekend to finish up some homework due the next week, but she couldn’t resist the urge to go out and visit the little town, get some candy, and drink in the Three Broomsticks. She couldn’t miss out on a fun outing with friends.
Y/N shook her head ‘no’.
“Wanna come with?”
“Of course.”
She stirred her cup of tea, her eyes scanning the room. “Any specific plans you all have this weekend? Zonko’s, Honeydukes, Spintwich’s?” she asked. Usually they followed some sort of routine. Visit the Three Broomsticks for drinks, head to Honeydukes to stock up on sweets for the rest of the week, and either stop at Zonko’s for the newest gadget or Spintwich’s so James could see if there were any upgrades for his broom.
Her personal favorite was Brood and Peck. Sometimes they had special creatures that you could only find in the forbidden forest. She was still waiting for a unicorn, but in the meantime there were always mooncalves, nifflers, and diricawls to play with. She also liked spending her time in the bookstore too.
Not that she wanted books, she just liked going there with Remus so she could watch him out of the corner of her eye. He furrowed his brows as he scanned the books for one that he was interested in. She would pretend to do the same thing, but really she just went for him. To watch him get excited by a new book that was just released, or half priced older novels he’d been meaning to buy, books they would read together. Seeing him happy made her feel soft inside, and that’s all that mattered to her.
“Well, I heard that Lily and the rest of the girls are going to Honeydukes around noon and I plan to be there,” James said confidently. He was obsessed with that girl, but Y/N couldn’t judge. She was just as obsessed with Remus as James was with Lily. She was infatuated, and had been for years.
“Speaking of which, why aren’t you going with the rest of the girls, Y/N?” Peter asked the girl sitting beside him.
Originally, she declined going to Hogsmeade that weekend altogether. She was far too preoccupied with her schoolwork to even think about taking the day off to fool around, but she couldn’t say no to spending the day with Remus. She had to say yes to the boys, on the off chance she might get some quality time with the boy she fancied.
She shrugged, “They offered, but had to say no. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish my potions essay in time. Gladly, I got it done this morning, so I should be fine to go with you guys.” She wasn’t exactly lying, but she certainly wasn’t telling the entire truth. She wasn’t doing well in her Herbology class either…
Remus found himself tense up at the mention of Hogsmeade. He always found himself nervous when she was around, and somehow, they always ended up singled out by the group when they went places. It was always Sirius and James goofing off with Peter following closely after, leaving Remus standing in the dust with Y/N at his side. He was never prepared and felt like he made a fool of himself every time just trying to strike up conversation. He could be so terribly awkward.
He just hoped that on the day of the actual visit to Hogsmeade, he would be normal. That all his friends would stick together instead of separating and leaving him to be his embarrassing self in front of the girl he so desperately fancied.
Part Two out.

The Haunted House
Tumblr media
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Male!Reader:
Requested: Yes
Request: “getting dared to go into the shrieking shack on Halloween (wow, a full moon on Halloween? How weird...) and finding a big scary werewolf waiting for you. Except he's really not all that scary, he just won't let you leave because Remus really likes you and his wolf form can't quite say that, just wants to keep you there.”
A/N: This is post number 4 for the 2023 Spooky Month event. Y’alls trick or treat is coming next Tuesday, October 31st. Hope you’re ready.
-----
The Shrieking Shack had well earned its name throughout the years you’d been at Hogwarts, with guttural screams and groans echoing from it each month around the time of the full moon. You’d heard dozens of different stories- ghosts, ghouls, poltergeists like Peeves. Someone from your Transfiguration class even thought it was some long-abandoned merfolk in a tank that’d grown too small.
Whatever it was though, you were going to find out.  The lot of you had had to sneak out of your commonrooms and were nearly caught by patrolling professors or prefects a couple times, but now here you are with your friends crowding around behind you clamoring encouragingly, you stand just past the fence separating the Shrieking Shack from the rest of Hogsmeade. The full moon looms ominously just over the ramshackle eaves of the decrepit building, providing just enough light for you to pick your way through the snowy yard and up to the front door.
A mumbled spell is enough to break away the locks and rotting boards holding the door closed and you’re able to force it open the rest of the way with a forceful shove. You only allow yourself one fleeting glance over your shoulder at your friends before making your way into the house and closing the door behind you, resolved to completing your friends’ dare and staying the night in the haunted house.
The floorboards creak with every step you take, wavering slightly under your shoes as your weight puts pressure on long-damaged planks as you make your way deeper into the house, each room revealing deep gashes carved into the walls and floors. Tattered strips of fabric from what might have been blankets or clothes are strewn about, stained a dark rust color in places from what you can only assume is blood. Some rooms even have shards of what would have once been furniture, a splintered chunk of wood that may have once been the arm of a couch tossed thoughtlessly against one wall of a ruined living room and the stuffing from a gutted chair cushion decorating an old bedroom, but no matter how many torn apart rooms you explore, you aren’t been able to find the source of the screams.
It finds you.
You’d wandered into what you think was once-upon-a-time a study, an ancient oak desk sitting on two broken legs in the middle of the room and its chair upturned nearby. The contents of the desk had proven uninteresting by the time you’d dug through the second desk drawer and you’ve gotten to the point of boredom that you’re considering just leaving altogether when you see it standing in the doorway. You’re not sure how long it had been watching you, but it stands, still as a shadow, with pitch dark eyes locked squarely on you.
You can see the beast’s raised hackles over the top of its head, lowered so it can fix you with a brutal stare, and a growl so low it rumbles through you like thunder fills the room as it takes a looming step closer. As it creeps forward, a brush of moonlight from the cracked window pane behind you catches it, giving you just enough light to make out further details of the creature.
At first glance, you might’ve thought it was just a wolf, but the longer you look the more your situation begins to sink in. The creature before you was nearly double the size of any wolf you’d ever heard of, back easily brushing the doorknob as it stalks into the room. Its legs are long and its paws splay when it walks like they’re not quite right, but the real telling point are its eyes. It doesn’t look away from you as it approaches, not even for a second, weaving through discarded furniture and debris like it was second nature until it stands just on the other side of the desk from you. It doesn’t look like it’s questioning whether you’re a threat like any other wild animal would, and the growl has started to subside now that it’s gotten a good look at you. The look in its eyes, while certainly somewhat wild, is too human to be anything else.
You’re not quite sure what to do at this point, not with a massive werewolf between you and the door, but being in a werewolf’s den during the full moon certainly can’t be a good idea. With that in mind you begin to move, edging slowly around the corner of the desk in order to not spook the wolf, already surprised by its calm demeanor and unwilling to test its good graces. The wolf allows you to pass by it and slip from the room, though you can hear the heavy footfalls of its paws as it follows you. You move back toward the front door, intent on leaving the same way you’d come, but you’re stopped by the massive wolf letting out another thunderous growl and shoving its way between you and the door. It bullies you on with more furious growls and pointed nips to your heels and hands, further into the house and up a narrow back staircase into a near demolished bedroom.
You obey when it gives you a pointed glare, settling down against the wall opposite the door. A satisfied huff escapes the wolf and it pads after you, flopping carelessly down to lay beside you and resting its large head heavily on your lap. The reason behind the werewolf’s behavior was confusing, certainly, but werewolves had been known to be territorial and prone to violence from what you’d heard, so if sitting here for a few hours while you waited for the wolf to shift back meant it’d keep you safe, then that was a small price to pay.
-----
It’s not the watery morning light that wakes you, but the shift against you. The aching, tortured gasp of pain that escapes as the person curled against you moves. The sound has you on high alert straightening against your back’s own cry of pain from sleeping sitting up all night, eyes blinking open blearily and finding the now-human werewolf trying to shift away from you.
It takes you a moment to recognize him without his signature posse of idiots and the bright red Gryffindor robes, but you are able to place the jagged pink scars across his face and his curly brown hair from some of your shared classes - Remus Lupin.
“Remus?” His name escapes you before you can stop yourself from speaking and you can see the way the tension takes root in him, joints and muscles coiling under his skin like he was preparing himself to run from some threat.
He seems to have to force himself to settle before he can speak, dark chocolate eyes examining you thoroughly. “I didn’t hurt you, did I? When I was-” He cuts himself off with a clear of his throat, eyes dropping back to his lap. He must’ve managed to track down his clothes from before he’d shifted since he was using them to cover himself. “I can’t really remember anything when I’m… like that.”
“No,” you say, and you can see the relief wash over him, tension easing in his shoulders and he no longer looks like he is going to accidentally shred his jumper. “No, you, uh, well you brought me here and then decided it was a proper time for a cuddle apparently.” You try to force a laugh, though the situation is certainly still awkward, “I thought that werewolves were s’posed to be scary, y’know? Think you’re just a were-lapdog instead?”
A startled laugh slips out of Remus and he looks almost as stunned by it as by your words, “I- I don’t know. This is kind of a new reaction? I’m, uh, I’m usually not so nice when I’m not myself.”
“Huh,” you say, more curious than ever about the wolf’s odd behavior, “I wonder why you were acting like that then? It didn’t really seem to be aggression, even when you growled at me - more like herding behavior like my uncle’s collie.”
Remus flushes at that. This close you can see the dozens of tiny freckles that scattered over his cheeks and down his jaw and neck. “I… have a theory,” he says quietly, like he almost can’t bring himself to say it. His gaze drops back to the bundle of cloth in your hands and you almost wonder if he would’ve tried to sneak out before you had woken up. You wouldn’t have blamed him if he did. “I think it’s some sort of passively shared consciousness? I can’t really connect to it at all, but maybe it can get a sense of my feelings? Like if I strongly disliked someone, it would probably act accordingly, and if I liked someone…” Remus trails off at that, flushing impossibly redder.
An amused little snort escapes you then and you lean forward, supporting yourself with your arms as you push yourself into his field of vision. “Is this you saying you like me, Remus?” You can’t help the chuckle that escapes you at the way you can already see him scrambling for a response, but you lean forward to press a light kiss to his cheek before he can find the words. “Cute,” you say, grinning as you watch the realization hit him. “Sit with me at breakfast?”
He nods slowly as he wraps his mind around your words, eventually letting you help him to his feet and back into his clothes. The two of you eventually make your way back to Hogwarts through the secret passage under the Whomping Willow that he shows you, taking breaks when he needs them and trading banter and kisses all the way.
And while your friends were curious about the shy Gryffindor sitting beside you at breakfast with his hand curled tight with yours, none of them questioned what really happened to you during your night in the haunted house.

This gives me such rem vibes like ugg
yes!!
you're getting ready for bed when remus gets home and bulldozes his way into your routine.
"hey dovey, sorry i'm late." he's got the fox socks from your hand, kneeling on the floor before kissing your ankles.
"it's okay remmy, know how days can get." remus kisses your shin, and rubs the arch in your foot.
"yeah," he sounds and looks exhausted. "how was your day?" remus is good at this, opening the floor for you to speak and then soaks up every ounce of your attention while he dotes easily on you.
you begin, mindlessly about your day, what you got up to, what you didn't get to- all the while remus massages lotion and oil into your feet with small comments every now and then.
"remmy, do you think we could get the dutch cocoa next trip to the grocery?"
remus is rolling up your socks to your knees as he hums. "yeah, what did you want to bake?" remus pats your thighs as he stands, shedding his work clothes and tossing it in the pile of laundry that he adds to his mental list of chores.
you smile, more so when remus doubles back to you and presses a smattering of kisses to your lips. "sticky chocolate cake, i wanted the good cocoa for it."
remus nods, "i'll pick it up tomorrow on my way back okay?" you whisper thanks, letting remus guide your body straight back against the bed.
"want me to braid your hair in the morning? i can do it again if you do."
remus is the king of casual dominance and just being an overall princess treatment advocate that it doesn't shock you in the least the next morning when he even oils your hair for you before braiding it.

thinking about regulus, who always switches between giving you compliments in english and french, and will only respond with a mysterious smile when you ask him what the french words mean. thinking about regulus, who has been taught to touch everything delicately and gracefully as a noble pureblood son, but only touches you with true softness. thinking about regulus, who despises compliments because he never feels he deserves them, but who slowly learns to appreciate them when they come from you. thinking about regulus, who will try his best to never introduce you to his parents, because he cannot stand the thought of you thinking differently of him once you see the kind of people he comes from. thinking about regulus, who sees you as the light to the darkness that is him, and who will always call you that when talking to other people.
thinking about regulus, who may be haunted and damaged and who so often feels like crumbling under the weight of his name and what it demands of him, but who knows he can always rely on your love to hold him up - you are the best thing in his life, the person who he loves more than anyone else and often even more than himself, and as dark and painful as his life can be, he will always be able to find some hope as long as your hand is in his.

remus tugs your head back with the firm grip on your hair, “what did you say?”
“harder,” you say, sunday dress squeezing your middle. “please, remmy, harder.”
he grunts and removes his hand from your clit, sliding it up your body before giving your exposed nipple a harsh twist. he pulls on your hair once more to have full access to your throat when he wraps his hand around it, squeezing it enough to make you feel dizzy.
“you want me to fuck you harder?” you nod vigorously and moan, the strained noise making his cock twitch inside you.
“mmm,” he hums, leaning in close to your ear, “precious little church girl worshipping me in front of the holy building? it’s blasphemous. you think you’ll be forgiven?”
you whine, lip wobbling at his words but you let your head fall forward with a wanton mewl when he intensely thrusts his cock into your tight cunt. “oh my god,” you stutter, “rem, th-thank you.”
“that’s right,” he grits his teeth, hissing when your cunt clenches his throbbing dick. “i’m your God now. you submit to me.”

word count: 3.8K
originally posted on my wattpad
— from bee: this takes place in sycamore girl timeline!
"i'm not giving it to you, of course," she remarked, voice straining. "i'm only lending it to you."
"i know," he said all too quickly, making her normally extroverted demeanor (when it came to him, at least) falter. "i promise i won't steal it."
she laughed awkwardly, trying to ease any tension off of her shoulder. "you better not, i've only got one copy of it."
"then i'll buy you a million more." he promised, then smiled, adding, "if i happen to lose it, of course."
Tumblr media
regulus didn't think to lift his head up when someone sat down besides him. the class was about to start, there was only a limited amount of seats so, really, he couldn't have cared less about whoever decided to sit to his right. he had more important things on his hand —like whether the characters in the book he was reading will end up with one another or continue to beat around the bush.
as he was about to reach the good part, the professor clapped his hands, starting the class. regulus shut his book, intending to put it into his bag when he looked to the side. there she sat, talking to her friend who was on the other side of her as she pulled out her quill and ink.
class began, neither of them starting conversation since it wasn't needed. every once in a while she would mutter something low under her breath, her eyes narrowing on the blackboard before she turned to him and cleared her throat, asking if the words on the board was what she thought it was and he would help before they went back to what they were doing.
"hey, is canada real?"
regulus turned to her with an incredulous look, brows knitted together trying to gauge whether she was joking or not. finally, he answered. "no."
"thanks," she replied with a smile, and turned back to what she had been doing.
the professor then began droning on about the lesson —one that regulus knew through and through, solely because, the book he was reading (a romance though he would never say it out loud) was a modern retelling of the event they were learning. he shut his notebook, pulling out the novel he was reading previously and continued where he left off.
it wasn't long before she finished as well, shutting her book and trying to tune into the lesson but only to feel as though she was being lull to sleep. to her left was regulus black, sitting handsomely as he always did with a hard cover novel (the dust jacket of it removed) in his elegantly pale hands.
the spine didn't hide the title of the novel though. false god, it read. she smiled knowingly at this. the book was about two sorcerers playing lovers when they despised one another, an enemies to lovers romance.
"heaven is when you touch me and hell is when i fight with you," i confessed, staring into her dark brown eyes. "but i can't help but feel as if we're being led by blind faith."
salazar, this novel is sickeningly sweet.
"i know that look."
regulus brows tightened slightly, tuning into her voice besides him and yet, not giving her his full attention.
"they confessed to her, didn't they?"
the slytherin looked over his book, peeking at her to find her smiling at him. clearing his throat, regulus asked, "you've read this?"
"yup," she said quietly, not wanting to be caught by the professor. "it's written by one of my favorite authors so i kind of had to."
regulus tilted his head slightly. "how'd you know what part i was at?"
"i had that same look on my face when i read it."
had she been watching him read? "oh." he let out, there was a pause before he spoke up again. "did they ever end up together?"
"if i told you that, i'd be spoiling you." she pulled out a piece of paper from her book and began drawing out lines before turning them into small boxes, pushing the parchment to the middle of the table, she looked up at him with a sheepish smile. "how about a game of tic tac toe instead?"
somewhere along the lines of tic tac toes and [name] ranting about the recent novels she'd read before lending it to him, regulus became quite fond of her. he had found himself —more often then not— missing her presence when he was with any of his other 'friends.'
it also didn't help that whenever she flirted with him —something he knew she did because, she liked seeing him get flustered after she said something mildly suggestive to him. he had always thought she was pretty ever since he'd first met her in first year (it was hard not to notice someone when you shared classes with them) but it had never been something that stuck as prominently in his mind as it did now.
the news of one of the black brother being engaged spread like wild fire at hogwarts, everyone —and he meant everyone— began bothering him non-stop. wanting to know if they could get an invite to the wedding (the answer to which he always said no to.)
today had been no different, every single person he'd encountered had asked for an invitation. he was tired of it and if anything he longed for the next class he had. the one he had with her. the one where she sat next to him and talked to him about anything but the lesson or the dreaded wedding.
she got to class five minutes later than him like she always did and smiled the second she spotted him, there was a skip in her step as she made her way over. "i just found the best novel ever."
regulus lifted an eyebrow, the corner of his lips curving upwards, giving her his full attention.
"right so the novel is called seven, it's written by the same author who wrote false god," she started, eyes drifting towards the door once a while to make sure that the professor wasn't there. "it's about two childhood friends who was separated when they were seven due to family issues from the guys' part. it's so beautiful, regulus. you'll love it."
regulus. they way it sounded so soft coming from her lips had him feeling things he'd never felt before. he would never tire hearing her say his name.
there was a content look on his face, listening and listening as she brought the fore mentioned novel from her bag and handed it to him. "i even annotated it for you. the pink are for the lines that i loved and the green is for the lines i think you'd love 'cause you're a slytherin and all."
he took it in his hand, eyeing it carefully. he flipped the cover over, seeing her hand writings scattered all around it —some of it being her gushing over the characters. he looked back to her, grey eyes going blue with affection.
" 'course."
as he turned to his side, planning on placing the novel into his bag so he wouldn't misplace it. she called out. "hey reg."
reg. regulus noted. that was a new one. he liked it, he really did like it. he let out a hum of indifferent acknowledgment, not yet facing her as he tried not to show just how much the nickname had effected him.
"would you like to go out this weekend?" there was short second of silence, it wasn't long until she picked up once more. "like on a date?"
before he could even stop himself, he blurted out. "i have plans tomorrow."
"oh."
regulus couldn't help but feel like he was being stabbed in the chest by how deflated she sound. he didn't spare a second when he turned to face her, not wanting to drown in his own guilt. "but yes."
"yes?" she repeated unsurely.
"yes," he concurred. "i'd love to go out with you —on a date. what seems to be the problem is that i have plans to meet up with dear brother's and his fiancée, and i don't want you to spend your weekend waiting for me—"
"reg, i'm perfectly fine with waiting." she cut him off. "although, you nearly made me cry with your 'i have plans tomorrow' i thought you were rejecting me."
"i would never reject you." how could he? not when he had been waiting for something between them to happen for the longest time.
•••
sirius and his fiancée bid their goodbyes with knowing smile, leaving him be as [name] made her way over to him. the booth was pretty much empty with him being the only one sat there, cheeks tinted pink as he waited for her to be seated down.
she took the one opposing him, smiling at him prettily. "you look nice."
"i look nothing compared to you," he countered almost shyly. and then, clearing his throat, regulus asked her, "where'd you want to go?"
"i was going to ask you that," she replied, feeling small under his gaze. "should we just walk around until we figure out what we want to do?"
regulus smiled at that. and with a nod of his head; he stood up, standing awkwardly besides their table. she stood up as well and as they made their way out, she stopped, buying two bottles of butter-beer for them to enjoy whilst they made their way to the next location.
hogsmeade wasn't as pack as he had expected it to be. sure, they were hundreds of teenagers around his age walking around with thick scarves signifying their houses colors walking around but, —unlike every other time he'd been to hogsmeade during the weekends— he could still see the road before him rather than it being a field of hair.
he turned to the side, intending to look at her only to find her already watching him. "where do we go from here? left or right?"
regulus thought about it for a second. no matter where they went, he'd still be happy, he was with her and that would be good enough for him.
"your choice."
the date went as well as he could've imagined it to. regulus followed after everywhere she strayed, smiling and giggling brightly at whatever caught her attention. and by the end of the night, regulus had walked her back to her common room and (with all his inner gryffindor courage) kissed her good night.
he'd turned his back at the speed of light right after, hiding just how truly giddy and flustered he'd felt. fuck. regulus black might be in love.
•••
march rolled around, along with it came both remus lupin and james potter's birthday. both of which, the marauders had threw parties for and both of which, regulus had been invited to.
lupin's party was fun; regulus had enjoyed it to bits, it was a small party with those only in the marauder's close circle invited to. potter's party was the exact opposite, loud music and booze could be seen every he turned.
regulus had been waiting for his girlfriend when he spotted sirius' fiancée and her friends come in. he'd join in on their teasing about sirius' (not) crush on his fiancée and quickly caught onto how his dear brother's attitude change when he found out that she was a light weight.
"don't worry darling, i know how to have fun without getting drunk." whipped.
it was clear that sirius was staying sober for his fiancée (that he definitely didn't have romantic feelings for) if it wasn't clear by how he had kept his eyes on her the entire night, then it was extremely clear when james —the reason he'd said he'd stay sober for, asked for his help and all he did was tell him to sod off and went to her aid.
the man was in love and he didn't even know it.
when [name], regulus' favorite person, arrived, he'd had to tear his eyes away from her just so he could converse with other people at the party. she looked so beautiful and he was so, so, so lucky to have her be his girlfriend.
"what are you looking at?"
"you," he answered slyly. did someone spike the punch? why is his words flowing out so easily? what is this. "you're the prettiest girl, i've ever seen."
there was a look on her face, somewhere between shying off and laughing at his words. he'd always said nice things to her, things that made her weak in the knees and completely drunk off of him.
but something, something about him being slightly intoxicated and gushing about how gorgeous he thought she was, made her feel dizzy (all in the good way, of course).
"my love," regulus called out after a moment, grabbing her attention. "would you come to my brother's wedding?"
"as your date?"
"of course, as my date. as if i'll ever let you out of my sight," he replied, words slurring the tiniest bit.
she cracked out a winsome smile, nodding. "of course, i will."
•••
the wedding day came soon enough and sirius made it clear, very clear, so clear that if anyone dared to go against his wishes he would personally hunt them down himself. that everyone he cared for —including regulus himself— would have to get ready at the potter's house because, it is where he'd be and he would need the emotional support to go through this.
the women took over a side of the house, getting all dolled up with the help of one another while the men made snacks and gave sirius pep talks. regulus was sat next to lupin, both chewing on the snacks that potter had prepared and listened to sirius bugger longbottom with as many questions as he could.
longbottom always answered, being the only married man in the friend group made him the most suitable source for answers to sirius' inquiries.
"but isn't scary?" sirius questioned, brows knitting together as james fixed up his bow tie. "sharing everything with one another."
"not really," longbottom answered carefully. "it's scary at first, yes, but after a while it's a very comforting thing. knowing that you can share your inner thoughts with your lover and not be judged."
"but she's not my lover." sirius frowned. "we're just friends."
"then it makes no difference," longbottom said with a small smile. "i was friends with alice before we were a couple —not that i'm trying to force anything between you two of course. what i'm trying to say is, if james is a friend to you and you could share anything with him then you can definitely share everything with her."
"you're not getting cold feet are you?" regulus asked, his tone slightly teasing.
sirius turned to him, his face unreadable. "of course, not. i could never do that to her, not when she's been nothing but lovely about all this."
"not when you think she's so pretty," lupin chirped in lazily.
"that's because, she is."
"sure, she is," remus murmured, making sirius turned to him sharply. remus clicked his tongue, the corner of his lips edging upward. "i never said she wasn't."
"you didn't, but your tone was patronizing." sirius smacked potter's hands away, making him scowl as he backed away. "and quite frankly, i don't appreciate my wife being spoken about in that tone of voice."
"my wife." potter repeated loudly. "are you sure you're not in love with her?"
"what makes you think otherwise?"
"i dunno," potter said stupidly, "maybe because of the way you talk about her."
"or the way you look at her," lupin added. "we could go on for days, mate."
"do you lots hate me or something?" sirius grumbled. "you're always teaming up against me, is it funny to you?"
"it is." came a more feminine voice. the men turn, all finding their dates (except sirius) standing by the door way. "it's the most comical thing ever to hear you deny your love for your fiancée."
"i hate you guys," sirius grumbled. lily and sirius continued on with their banter, but regulus was no longer listening, finding himself too awestruck at the sight of his girlfriend.
she stood besides mckinnon, donning the prettiest he'd ever seen. she smiled upon feeling his gaze on her, an action that made regulus want to do nothing but kiss her until she was breathless. instead, he stood up from his spot and made his way over to her.
"you look handsome," she commented once they stood toe to toe. of course, he did (not that he was trying to be conceited). he made sure he looked as best as he could if he would be having someone as beautiful as her in his arms.
"thank you," regulus said softly, eyes kept on her as he spoke. no words will be able to explain just how divine she looked. and so, regulus chalked it up to a simple compliment. "you look lovely."
"i try to, for you."
bullshit. even if she wasn't trying —and he knew this for certain from all the previous time he'd spent with her; bundled up in her dorm with bags under their eyes as they hovered over her desk and conversed about their projects, heads on the pillow once they wrapped up, looking as though they were on their dying breath— she'd still look lovely.
•••
the start of regulus' seventh years went as well as he hoped. sure, he was drowning in assignments during the first week of classes but he had a girlfriend. and that makes up about seventy percent of it.
he'd grown accustomed to having meals with her by his side so it was no surprise when he was the first thing she found when she made her way into the great hall with a letter in hand.
"guess what," she started up excitedly, taking the seat opposing his. regulus supplied her with a what? encouraging her on. "i got an owl last night."
"who's it from?"
"just your sister in law," she said as casually as she could but the enthusiasm was not lost in her voice. "would you like to know why?"
"yes." he humored her, filling her goblet up with water. "i would like to know why, please."
"well." she placed the opened up the letter and placed it down. "sirius confessed in an overly dramatic way about whether she loved you more than she loved him, long story short they ended kissing. moral of the story, our favorite couple is no longer getting a divorce."
"i could write a romance book about that."
"please don't," regulus murmured, reading the letter for himself. sure enough, there —written in ink— was the details of the said confession and how they would not be going through with their divorce as they try to navigate their new relationship. "oh no."
"oh no?" she repeated, tone drastically different from his.
"oh no," he said once more, as if agreeing to something. "sirius talked about adopting me, if they stayed married that might just happen."
"that's stupid, regulus. she would never agree to that."
"you underestimate just how persuasive sirius can be, my love." he took a sip from his mug, his tea now cold. "he managed to convince her into marrying someone as horrid as him, adoption won't be as hard."
"you say that like he's the worst man to ever exist." he gave her look. one that was practically asking her if she was testing him. "besides, she married him for the money. she won't get anything out of adopting you."
"yes, she would."
"and what would that be?" she asked, mildly uninterested.
"me."
"and that's a good thing?"
regulus mouth dropped into a small O. the black had always had a flair for the dramatics and he was no exception. "yes," he said with full offense. "how could you ever think otherwise. i'm your boyfriend."
"i just—" she shrugged. "—you're not all that."
regulus was gasping now, eyes full with hurt. "i don't think i want to be with you anymore."
"is that so?"
"no." he denied with annoyance.
the grandfather clock rang, signaling the start off class and the pair stood up. regulus standing besides her as he waited for her to pack up her stuff.
the couple shared their first class, so it was obvious for them to walk with one another. once arriving, regulus headed towards the middle table; not too far away and not too close to the professor. he sat first, tapping the empty seat that was by his side for her to take.
she took it, smiling when her friends took to the table in front of them and began conversations with one another. class soon began, the professor droning on about the lessons when regulus found himself in a position he'd never been in before.
her hand was dropped to the side and he'd never wanted to hold something as much as he did now. he was practically begging for her to take his hand but he was too prideful to admit it.
"it's rude to stare," she said quietly, and regulus was distinctly reminded of their first encounter. same classroom, same seats. how history repeats itself never fails to amaze him. "even if you're staring at their hand."
he teared his eyes away, playing oblivious. "i don't know what you're talking about."
"right," she murmured as if she believed him. "did you want to hold my hand?"
"yes."
she took his hand at his answer, intertwining their fingers and placing it comfortably on her thigh before she turned back to the lesson.
time will age as will the both of them, and despite how greedy and selfish it may sound. regulus hoped it would never remove the memory of her smile when he'd first saw her.
life was a willow and it bent right through her wind.

Tumblr media
Remus Lupin is a switch
He will be dominant when he wants but he honestly loves it when you just take care of him
Especially close to the full moon
He will be on you at all times, always begging to leave and go someone private
There was one incident when you two (more like you) were trying to study
Whilst you went to go grab a book, he got bored and came up behind you
He hugged you and basically put all his body weight on you
It was a sweet moment until his hands found their way into your pants and he started to whisper in your ear about how he will be a good boy for you
He such a whiney boy when he’s a sub
Cant say the same for when he’s in a dominant mood though
He becomes mean as fuck
He loves watching you go down on him, watching as you gag on his cock
he LOVES going down on you though
no matter what mood he’s in, his favourite place is between your thighs as they wrap around his head
He’ll go down on you like his life depends on it
one time Sirius and James walked in and Remus was too into it to stop so you had to throw a pillow at them so they leave
You couldn’t look them in the eyes for a few days
Remus was so smug about it though because he knows that both of them have had a crush on you before
Tumblr media
A/N lowkey terrible and I gave up halfway through because I’m tired but I hope you liked it 🧍🧍

To Avoid is to Hurt
Warnings: slight violence and injury, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Remus Lupin x sister reader, James Potter x reader platonic
Request: Heya! Could i make a request where the reader is remus' little sister and one day she decides to follow him, james, sirius and peter on the full moon night to try to help, but ends up being hurt by him? It turns out that after that remus obviously feels guilty and thinks the way to deal with it is to ignore her, but after the reader asks james for help to get his brother back and james talks to him, remus realizes the mistakes he's been making with your little sister?
Request by: Anon
*not my gif*
Summary: James helps the Lupin siblings through a rough patch
A/N: Wow it’s been a while- I don’t feel like proof reading so I’m not gonna
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
You were tired of sitting by and doing nothing
Month after month, you watched from afar as your brother struggled with his condition, the only people he let help him with it being his three best friends
But why should they help and you shouldn’t?
You were his little sister after all, it was your job to look after him more than it was theirs
James had warned you time and time again not to get involved, that it wasn’t what Remus wanted
In fact, your brother apparently begged him, Sirius, and Peter back during their second year- and your first- to make sure that you stayed as far away from him as possible when full moons rolled around
As if you hadn’t been dealing with them with him all of your life
This time would not be like the other times
The other times where you lost sleep and were sick with worry
This time, as you watched from behind a tree as Sirius, James, and Peter snuck into the Whomping Willow, you trailed after them, keeping enough distance where they wouldn’t notice, but not too much where you would fall behind
You always knew that they went to the Shrieking Shack during this time- James had told you to try and soothe your worries over your brother- but you had never actually been inside
In all honesty, there was fear resting in your stomach as you looking around the old, rundown place
As stealthily as you could, you crept up the stairs, following the sounds of muffled groans of pain
Those sounds had been enough to shatter your heart into hundreds of tiny pieces
When you reached the top of the stairs, you peaked through the cracked open door, the only thing you were able to see was the back of a werewolf you knew all too well to be Remus
In your defense, you had barely even made a sound, but your brothers heightened senses made it so that he somehow knew you were there
The werewolf had whipped around so fast you barely had time to let out more than a yelp, glancing to the side just in time to see a stag, dog, and rat freeze in place
The stag lunged forwards at the same time Remus did, but James was too slow
Remus had reached out and thrown you across the room before you could so much as blink
You were out as your head hit the wall
It took two days for you to wake up, and when you did, you were lying in a bed in the hospital wing, Madame Pomfrey fussing over you
Your eyes were taking their time adjusting, but when you felt someone squeeze your hand gently, you turned your head to the side, hopes high to see your brother sitting there
Instead, your heart sank the tiniest bit when you saw James, giving you a small smile that looked a bit like a grimace
“How are you feeling?” His voice was soft
“Where’s Remus?” Was your immediate response
If you knew your brother like you thought you did, then you knew damn well that he would already be destroying himself over this
Something that wasn’t even his fault
This time, James flinched a little, pulling his hand back to run it through his already messy hair
“He figured it would be better if he wasn’t here when you woke up.” The boy admitted
You couldn’t help it, the tears that sting your eyes, not just at the throbbing pain in your head
After that, only a day passed before you were cleared to leave and go back to your dorm
Instead of Remus being there to help you back, though, Sirius, Peter, and James had been there
Three more days passed without any sign of your brother
And it stung
Anytime you entered the common room, you would be informed that he just left
Whenever you were hoping to catch him in the great hall, he was apparently staying after with a professor
It was almost as if you didn’t even have a brother
He was avoiding you, that much was obvious, but what was even more obvious, was how much it was hurting you
It was getting to the point where you were struggling with sleeping, and therefore having a hard time paying attention in classes
And even though all of your friends noticed your sudden change, James was the one to take it most to heart
He hated seeing you like this, but moreso, he knew how much it was killing Remus too
His friend had confided in him while you had still been unconscious, telling him that he hated himself for what he did to you, and how he wanted to make sure he never hurt you again
At first, James hadn’t known what to do, but now, he knew it was time for Remus to get over this, move past it, so that the Lupin siblings could once again reunite
It had only taken thirty minutes for James to set his plan into action, another fifteen before it actually took place
He waited outside of Slughorn's classroom, where Remus was doing some extra credit work, and the moment the boy stepped out the door, James had grabbed onto his collar and began dragging the much taller boy down the closest hall until they came to a secluded area
“Prongs, what the bloody hell-”
“You need to get over yourself.” James spat the words out so fast, “You are absolutely killing that poor girl by avoiding her, and you’re doing the same to yourself in the process.”
Remus felt his heart skip a beat, “How’s she doing-”
“Terrible.” Came the brutally honest answer, “All thanks to you avoiding her like a prick. She’s not mad at you about what happened, you idiot. She’s mad at you for avoiding her afterwards.”
Those words were like a slap across Remus’s face, but it was what he needed to be snapped back to reality
That was all it took for him to rush to the common room, where James had said you would be
Seconds of silence passed between the two of you, just standing there, staring at one another before he finally spoke
“I’m so, so sorry, n/n.” He whispered
Sorry for what had happened, and about not being there afterwards
That was all it took for you to spring across the room and leap into your older brothers arms, both of you holding each other tightly
The Lupin siblings were going to be okay now, all thanks to James Potter

Sirius sat there alone in the dark. It was his fault, he should have seen it, he should've known.
He hadn't even been there for week and he felt he was going insane, he was losing his mind questioning everything.
Did James feel it when he died? Did it hurt him? Was Harry okay? Where was Harry? What did Remus think? Was he okay the full moon was approaching soon. But most of all, do you blame? What did you think of him?
He sobbed for hours when it finally clicked in his brain. James and Lily were dead. His best friend was gone because of him. Harry was alone, Remus was alone. You were alone. He hoped you and Remus had each other, that you sought him out or he found you and that the two of you mourned together.
He heard people screaming in the background, but he was frozen. You were standing there, right in front of him. Why were you here? What were you doing?
His blood went cold, where you here to kill him? If you were — and he hoped, you were— would it haunt you?
The two of you stared at each other for what seemed like hours, but he broke it by whispering your name. "My love"
"Did you do it?" your eyes blazed with fury as you questioned him, "Remus said you did it. But I couldn't— I can't believe him."
Sirius stared at you, "how'd you get in?"
"Answer me Black!" you raised your wand at him, "My brother, is he dead because of you?!"
Sirius shook his head, "but it might as well be my fault."
He did nothing when you broke down into sobs, your knees sank onto the ground. He didn't want to startle you. "Tell me what happened" you demanded.
So he sat there on opposite sides of the room— if you could call, the damp stoney cell that. He spoke as you hung onto every word, you sat there and you listened to him just like you always had. And when he had finished telling you what actually happened the night of October 31st, you were in more tears. This time you walked over towards him and he held you as you shook and cried into him.
"I'm so sorry" he snapped out of his daze when he heard you apologise. "For what?"
"That they all blame you"
He sighed, "oh love, as long as you believe me I don't care."
You bith sat in silence again, only this time it was more comfortable. "How's Harry? and how did you get in here?" Sirius questioned you.
"Harry's at home with Remus they're both asleep." You answered the first question and Sirius couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy— it should've been him and Harry, you and him should've been raising your nephew.
"and?" he asked, trying to get you to answer his other question.
"I turned into a cat. Dementors can't sense animal emotions, so they were practically blind to me."
Sirius hummed as he breathed in you scent, a smell that always relaxed him. He held onto you in fear that if he let go you'd disappear, and he'd realise you were never real.
He couldn't be selfish with you, Harry needed you. Remus needed you. And even though Sirius himself needed you, he had to let you go.
"You have to go dove" he mumbled into your hair although he made no move to let you go.
"Just a moment longer?"
"Just one more moment" he smiled and kissed you softly, "they need you sweetheart, hold Harry for and tell Remus I'm sorry."
"Do I have to go?" you gripped onto him.
"I'll see you again" he knew you'd return whenever you were able.
You nodded, "I love you, my heart"
He watched her turn into a cat and slip away, "and I love you more my angel."

You’re So Pretty II (Remus Lupin x Reader)
Tumblr media
(GIF not mine)
A/N: friends to lovers, fem!reader, jealous!remus, remus loves you but he’s so terribly scared of a relationship, Hogsmeade bookstore dates
Warning: very short (like three sentences) mention of sexual thoughts.
Word count: 4.1k
________
Y/N smiled as the snow sizzled under her feet. Her and Remus walked side by side behind the rest of the gang, heading over to Hogsmeade Saturday afternoon to get a well deserved break from classes and studying.
She hid her face behind her thick scarf, her gloved hands buried deep in her winter coat pockets, protecting herself from the chilly breeze. She wanted to reach over and hold his hand, to feel the warmth from his skin against her. She didn’t try though, too afraid to be so forward with him.
“Lily said she’d be at Honeydukes today so I’m probably going to hang around there until I run into her,” James told everyone. Y/N rolled her eyes. Even when they were out as friends, he was still falling head over heels for that girl. Lily was one of her best friends, sometimes it just got annoying hearing her friend talk about her constantly all day.
“Oh, I thought we were gonna go to the Three Broomsticks?” Y/N asked, tilting her head a bit to the side with a frown etched on her lips.
James shook his head, waving off to his friends. “Maybe I’ll catch you guys later, yeah?” He walked in the opposite direction of the little restaurant they were headed to. She just shook her head. Typical of that loverboy to leave. She was grateful that Remus never had anyone else to go to, any other girls he wanted to follow around. She was used to Sirius and James doing so, not so much Peter though. He was always quite unpopular with the ladies.
The Three Broomsticks was quite loud, as you would expect on a busy Saturday with all the Hogwarts kids coming to hang out and get drinks. Y/N decided on a hot butterbeer and salty chips, finding herself awfully hungry from the walk over to the little village.
She was tucked into the booth, closest to the inner wall with Remus to her right and Sirius and Peter across the table facing them. Her thigh, only covered by thin black tights under her short corduroy skirt pressed to Remus’ corduroy slacks, and a chill ran down her spine at the thought of being so close. He didn’t seem to mind that their thighs touched, and his arm rested against hers. Nor did he notice the way he could turn his head and be mere centimeters away from kissing her, if he wanted.
Y/N wanted to be kissed. Whether it be in front of the boys or in private, she wished every night before she went to sleep that the dirty blond would kiss her silly. That he would cradle her cheeks in the palms of his hands, tilting her head up to meet his. That he would press his soft lips to hers and run far away with her heart. She wanted to drown in him, if he would just let her.
But she refrained. She kept her eyes trained forward on Sirius, listening as he went on about some problem he had in transfigurations with Professor McGonagall.
Remus couldn’t help but wish she would stop looking at Sirius like that, like he was the most interesting person in the world. He wanted her to look at him that way. Instead she always shied away, ducking her head or looking off beyond his shoulder. Did she hate looking at him? Was he that unattractive? Thoughts rushed through his mind, he barely noticed Sirius was talking at all.
He was conscious of her leg pressed to his, practically sitting in his lap at this point. His eyes ran quickly over the hem of her skirt which rode up a bit when she slid down the booth. What would her thighs feel like in his hands, or pressed to the sides of his head. If it was anything like the mere feeling of her pressed to him in the booth, he might as well explode.
Remus, honest to Merlin, didn’t want to think about her in that way. He really didn’t. It was inappropriate and wrong. Still, her face flashed through his mind, what it would look like if he was hovering over her, and the sounds she would make as he eased in and out of her. He was filthy, a pervert. He knew that. He just couldn’t brush the thoughts from his mind.
It didn’t matter what he thought anyway. Y/N wanted to fuck his best mate, Sirius. He had no chance.
He reached over and took one of her chips, hoping it would distract him as she laughed quietly at a joke Sirius told. He chuckled too, but only to seem like he was paying attention.
“Rem, what do you think?” she asked, and he had to snap back into the conversation quickly.
“Think about what?” He cringed. So much for pretending he was listening before.
“About spending the holiday at the Potters’? Guess you were daydreaming again?” she replied, poking him in the shoulder jokingly.
If only you knew, love.
He shrugged. “Sure. They know how to throw a good party. Is James okay with it?”
“Yep. Not to mention Sirius lives there too so it’s kinda his house as well,” she laughed. “It’ll be like a week-long sleepover.”
The thought definitely interested him. Spending nearly a week with her in the same house. It would give them time away from school to chill out without the looming threat of homework over their shoulders. He knew how worried she got about her classes, considering she never did too well in them.
Just as she was about to say something else, a flustered James rushed through the doors and up to the booth. “Sirius, Pete, you gotta come with me. I need back up.”
“Back up for what?”
“Lily, obviously. She’s here with Marlene, Dorcas, and Mary. I need you two to distract the other girls while I sweep my darling Lily off her feet,” he said, a bit rushed. It was obvious he was under some sort of time crunch. Maybe they were getting ready to leave Honeydukes already.
Y/N quirked a brow. “What about Remus and I?”
“Figured you wouldn’t want to spend your day following me around.”
“And you assumed I would?” Sirius piped up, although he was already sliding out of the booth to do as his friend asked.
“You nerds can go to the bookstore or something. Or Brood and Peck?” James suggested. He peered out the window across the table and spotted Marlene and Lily walking into Honeydukes, that familiar wash of red hair flowing behind her. “Gotta go, sweetheart.”
“See you later, angel, moony” Sirius winked, and with that they were off. Remus tensed at her nickname, as he usually did. It wasn’t abnormal for Sirius to flirt with her, to call her endearing names and send suggestive looks in her direction. He saw the way her eyes pleaded with him to stay, to not leave her behind with plain ol’ Remus.
She waved goodbye to the boys walking out the door before turning to stare down at the plate in front of her. “Sooo, what do you want to do for the rest of the day?” she asked, feeling a bit awkward now that they were completely alone again. She liked hanging out with the boy, it was just hard to maintain her cool when they were alone. She liked when Sirius was around to relieve some of the tension she felt around Remus. “The bookstore is a good choice, or maybe the botanical shop? Whatever you want to do is fine.”
He took a sip from his warm cup of butterbeer and sighed. If only he had the guts to consider this a date. There were dozens of times in which they hung out around Hogsmeade, just the two of them, enjoying the other’s company the best they could. She was willing to go to any of the stores around, she wasn’t very picky. It always felt like they were dating, but he never addressed it. It made him anxious, the thought of confronting her about their friendship.
He chose to ignore it. If anyone brought it up, he just brushed them off like they were wrong and being silly. It was the only way he could cope with his hidden feelings.
“Let’s go to the bookstore. I’ve been meaning to find more Shakespeare. Maybe you’ve got some recommendations,” he told her, knowing that her eyes would light up at the mention of the muggle playwright. He smiled when he noticed the familiar sparkle in her eyes, peering over the rim of his mug.
She clapped her hands together. “Perfect! I have a lot of recommendations, not just Shakespeare either. There are so many classics you might enjoy, if we can find them.” Thankfully the bookstore in Hogsmeade carried quite a few muggle books along with the traditional magical novels written by wizards. “Let me just finish my chips and drink so we can go,” she said, taking another bite of a now room-temperature potato.
She went on to talk about her classes as he sat, his cheek in his palm, watching her silently. He observed the way she perked up at certain topics, and frowned when they moved onto something she disliked. When she found herself drifting off to a discussion about her grades, especially those in Transfigurations and DADA, she grimaced. They were never very easy for her, and he knew that better than anyone as her tutor.
When she was finally finished with her food, she pushed away her empty glass and straightened up in the seat. She pulled a couple coins from her jacket pocket and left them to sit on the table to pay for her snacks, plus his butterbeer which he had been sipping on slowly for the past half-hour or so. He could have listened to her talk for longer, finding it relaxing to hear her voice so at ease, but they had more things to do than just sit around the tavern.
She wrapped herself up in her scarf and hat, buttoning up her jacket to the top notch, knowing it was going to be chilly when she stepped outside. The hearth warmed the little restaurant perfectly, she almost forgot it was winter outside and the snow was piling on the pathways.
As they walked through the crowds, heading to the bookstore, he kept his hand hovering just above the small of her back, careful to touch her gently and not break any boundaries. He wanted to keep her close so as to not lose her in the crowd of students walking by. She didn’t seem to mind the touch either, trekking ahead through the snow.
They entered the bookstore and a little chime rang out above them from the copper bell hanging. She waved to the store owner before heading up the tiny staircase to her favorite second. Muggle Studies and Famous Works.
“So, Remus, what were you thinking of this time? Something funny? Romantic? Tense?”
“Just pick out something you’d think I’d like. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it either way,” he told her, his fingers sliding down the spines of the old hardcovers, reading the titles under his breath. She nodded and started her search for the perfect novel to give her best friend to read. He was an avid reader so she was sure he would like mostly anything she suggested.
She grabbed a Shakespeare comedy, followed by a couple other classics such as A Portrait of Dorian Gray, which always reminded her of Sirius a bit, and Pride and Prejudice which reminded her quite a bit of some of the romances she had seen occur at Hogwarts. She climbed down from the ladder she stood on to reach the books and handed the pile off to her friend, who was still just wandering aimlessly around the second floor of the store.
“Find some good ones?” he asked.
She nodded, handing him the three books. “These should last you a while. I picked a couple different genres in case you didn’t like one of them you could move onto the next,” she told him. He peered down at the covers and nodded. If she suggested them, she didn’t have to worry about him not liking them. He would read anything she suggested and enjoy it, because those books made her happy and in turn, that kept him engrossed as he flipped the pages.
He paid for the books, since she paid for his drink earlier. They were ready to head to another shop, only to pause the second she opened the door to the outside. Quickly, she shut the door with a yelp. “Godric, did it drop ten degrees in the time we’ve been in here? I’m going to freeze to death out there,” she exclaimed. In reality, the wind had picked up and whipped at anyone daring to go outside with icy air.
She shivered, rubbing up and down her arms with her mittens to try and warm herself up a bit.
“Do you want my sweater?” Remus offered, already shrugging off his thick winter coat so he could lift his pullover jumper over his head. He didn’t really think to wait for her reply, automatically ready to give up one of his layers for her.
“Remus, really, you don’t need to do that-” Y/N tried to stop him, but he was already out of his brown tweed jumper before she could do anything about it. She took off her winter coat and slipped on the added layer over her thin sweater. It was warm from him wearing it so close to his body, and it smelled just like him. She felt like she was enveloped in a big hug, and it was wonderful.
“Fits perfectly,” he joked, seeing as the sleeves were a bit too long and the hem went down to mid thigh. It obviously wasn’t made for her, but instead incredibly tall, lanky boys.
They both put their jackets back on, and she adjusted her hat and scarf once again. “Thank you, Rem.”
“No problem. I tend to run hot anyway,” he replied, carrying the books he had just bought under his arm, using his free hand to push open the door and enter the harsh winter streets. When he wasn’t looking, she dipped her head down and pressed the hem of his sleeve to her face, taking in the smell, hypnotized by that reminder of him lingering on his clothes.
He smelled like parchment and ink, like dark chocolate and mint; it was hypnotizing. She had read plenty of books in which the boy gives his jacket to the girl, sparking a bit of romance between the two. She didn’t think Remus meant anything by the kind gesture, however. She was nearly confident that Sirius or James would do the same for her, absent romantic intent. Remus was just so kind and thoughtful. Surely that was the reason he gave her his sweater.
“Did you want to stop anywhere else?”
“Do you want to go pick up those seeds I need from the botanical shop?” she asked. “Professor Sprout said I could grow them for extra credit, and I’m not doing too well in that class right now.”
Remus nodded, turning on his heel to head in the direction of the seed shop, with a chipper girl following closely behind him.
________
He never asked for his sweater back, not even when the group of friends reconvened in the common room after their outing, and she stood in plain sight with his sweater hanging loose from her shoulders. Instead, she sat on the couch beside Sirius, his arm on the couch behind her, his fingers just barely grazing her shoulder. He never meant anything by it really, she and Sirius just had a close friendship. Sirius knew she would never fall in love with him, not like some of the other girls they hung out with. Y/N knew that he just liked to hook up, and he wasn’t about to pull any moves on her. Not when he knew about the crush she had on his best friend, Remus.
Remus didn’t know that though. He only saw his crush, his girl, wrapped up so closely to Sirius at any given opportunity, and he hated it. He hated that Sirius was so confident in himself that he would flirt with anyone. He hated that the other boy was so attractive and charming that all the girls fell for him at some point or another.
He couldn’t stand the jealousy he felt. It made him depressed, sad any time he saw them together. At first, he had only been angry with the situation, but over time he found himself falling apart, unable to fight it any longer. He was just hopeless and lonely.
Y/N glanced over at Remus standing behind the armchair Lily sat in, his arms crossed over his chest with his forearms on display, having rolled up the sleeves on his white shirt.
She was brave. She was in Gryffindor, for fuck’s sake. She could talk to the boy she liked.
The girl stood from her place on the couch, waving to Sirius and Marlene as she did so, walking over to where Remus stood. He eyed her down, his cheeks flushing red at the sight of her bare shoulder hanging out of his jumper. “Y/N?”
“Rem, do you have any chocolate by chance? I’ve got a sweet tooth coming on,” she asked, knowing that he always had some of the sweet treats in stock somewhere on his person or in his room. It was his cure for nearly every ailment imaginable.
He nodded. “In my dorm, yeah. You want some?”
“If you don’t mind,” Y/N hummed, nudging her head in the direction of the four boys’ dorm room just up the stairs. “Let’s go.” She extended her arm, her hand held open for him to take, which he did even if her touch caused a shiver to run down his spine. It was times like this, where she was affectionate with him, that he really felt nervous. Nervous that he would make a mistake.
He felt his hand starting to clam up and he cringed. He didn’t want her holding his warm and sweaty hand. Fortunately, the walk up the stairs to the room was brief and she dropped his hand the second she walked through the doorway. Happily, she walked over to his bed and jumped on it, pressing her face into his pillows with a sigh. She cuddled into the sweater wrapped around her, inhaling the scent of her wolfish friend swallowing her up.
“So, you’re feeling chocolate?” He asked, walking over to his bedside table and opening a drawer. He pulled a couple bars from the drawer, one of them filled with caramel, a treat he knew she liked quite a bit. He tossed it over to her, landing on the bed beside her head.
“Thank you!” She chirped happily, unwrapping the candy bar and taking a bite, smiling as she munched. He took a seat on the bed and leaned against his headboard, sitting up as he broke off a piece of a dark chocolate bar for himself. She rolled onto her side and faced him, propped up on her elbow. “Today was quite fun, don’t you think?”
“Definitely. I’m excited to read the books you recommended.”
“Yeah,” she yawned, “it’ll be fun to discuss when you’re done.”
They laid there for a while talking about books and the next day’s events, including a quidditch match their friends were going to be competing in. He loved just talking to her. No one else entertained him the way she did, with those bright eyes and her round cheeks filled with happiness. No one understood his love of poetic justice in literature as well as she did. He never wanted their conversations to end really, even if they always came to a close one way or another.
After a while, she found herself growing more and more tired, covering her mouth with her hand as she yawned more deeply than before, eyes grown heavy by now. He’d sunk down to lay beside her, their heads sharing a single fluffy pillow. His eyes were trailed up to the canopy above the bed while she watched his profile, every little move of his lips as he spoke and the way his eyes flickered when something caught his gaze.
He felt anxious when she pressed herself into his side, sighing at the warmth coming off his body in waves. He wasn’t opposed to her being so close; he enjoyed it, actually. He just felt sick to his stomach knowing that this wasn’t forever. That she would get up soon to venture back to her own room, leaving him cold and alone on his bed, hanging onto his moment until he was graced with the next one.
“You’re so warm, Remus,” she mumbled in her sleepy haze.
Her voice sent shivers down his spine. “I think you’re just cold.”
“Maybe,” she hummed.
It was only a matter of time before she stopped replying to him about whatever they were talking about and her breaths became soft and slow, signaling that she had fallen asleep in his bed. It wasn’t the first time, but usually he was sitting in Peter or James’ bed and not lying right beside her. Her arm was wrapped loosely around his, the other curled up against her chest.
“Y/N?” He asked quietly, only to be met with the same quiet breaths.
He wanted to lay beside her. He wanted to let her cuddle him all night long as she slept, and wake up beside him in the morning. He wanted to be met with her bright smile when he opened his eyes the next day. God, he wanted to stay the way they were, just like this.
Only, he couldn’t do it. He was afraid. She didn’t deserve to be tied down to him. She was so wonderful and beautiful and kind. She was everything he loved, and he was a monster. He could hurt her if she got any further involved with him and his problems.
He lifted her arm gently, making sure not to wake her up as he rolled off his side of the twin sized mattress. He lifted his heavy quilt to cover her body, making sure she wouldn’t freeze in her sleep when he left her. He didn’t want her to wake up now and explain why he was going to leave her all alone. He certainly wasn’t going to wake her up and kick her out to her own room either.
He would find somewhere else to sleep for the night. Make up a lie in the morning about how he got up and went to the common room, fell asleep by accident on the couch.
He left the room that night with a grimace, regret pooling in his heart at the thought of leaving her behind. He waved to his friends who still hung out in the common room, but their numbers were beginning to dwindle. Marlene and Dorcas had gone to bed and Lily was about to go back to her dorm as well.
He fell asleep that night on the couch and woke up to the sound of early risers getting ready for breakfast. Meanwhile, Y/N woke up in a room that was not hers in a bed that was emptier than she remembered. James snored loudly to her right while Peter’s snores came out more of a light whistling. Sirius sat by his mirror, running a comb through his hair.
“Where’s Remus?” She asked.
“Slept on the couch downstairs.”
All she could do was sigh, a small “oh” leaving her lips. Sirius sent her a sympathetic look, as if he understood how she was feeling. She just fell back on the mattress and stared at the ceiling, wondering why her friend was so persistent on this constant space between them even when they seemed to be growing so close. He was a confusing guy, clearly conflicted with emotions running through that she didn’t understand.
Still, it broke her heart to wake up alone, cold under the blanket he’d left for her, surrounded by friends. So many friends, just not the one she wanted to be there.
Part Three out.
