The Wall
Mapi Leon x Teen!Reader
Inspired by the song "The Wall" by GroupLove
“Just sitting on a wall, always trying to do it all” “Really wanna get away, to where I couldn’t say” “Yeah we got lucky, fell into place” “We found some friends, some stayed some passed away”
A/N: The timeline is a little funky, I know Leila didn't leave in the middle of the season but we're gonna pretend for the sake of the story. Even though I posted the lyric, nobody dies, just overall angsty, more parts to come.

“You ready to go, amiga?” Mapi shouted across the house at you even though she already knew the answer. You were always ready long before she or Ingrid ever were. It wasn’t unusual for you to be up extra early to start your day with a run or at the very least, a long walk. At only 19, you hadn’t been playing with the senior team long and wanted to do everything you possibly could to prove yourself, even if it meant getting up at four in the morning.
When you’d been called up to the senior team, Mapi and Ingrid had insisted that you move into their spare room to help you get adjusted until you settled in better. Originally, they had pitched the idea in order to make sure you were taking care of yourself and doing everything you needed to to be successful with the team. They had no idea how prepared you already were. Still, many of the older girls had taken you under their wing, Mapi more than anyone. She was highly protective of you and was always making sure you were doing okay, even if you didn’t normally need it. They rarely had to do much, as you were one of the hardest working members of the team.
Some might call you a perfectionist, type A, or maybe a bit obsessive, but what you were doing was working. You would do anything it took to be the best footballer you could possibly be. Getting up early was just the start. You were always eating as healthy as possible with very few cheat days. You had done plenty of research on nutrition and everything you needed to eat (and not eat) to perform at your best so you always stuck to that. You often watched film from each game at least two to three times beyond what the team watched in training. That was your favorite way to improve yourself when your body really needed a break from training. It wasn’t a lot but it was everything you needed. Everything you needed to be enough.
You grabbed your bag and joined Mapi and Ingrid in heading to the car to go to training. Ingrid sat down in the driver’s seat while Mapi plugged in her phone to play some music that you didn’t even recognize. As you sat in the backseat, you were slightly lost in thought, thinking of what you needed to work on today. Speed and endurance were always something you tried to improve but maybe it was more important today to focus on your passing accuracy but also you needed to work on your shooting or maybe-
“Hey did you hear me?” Your thoughts were interrupted as Ingrid snapped you back into the real world.
“Hmm? Sorry.” You mumbled as you gathered your thoughts back to focus on the two girls in front of you. “What’d you say?”
“Leila said you were going with her after training? Is that right?” Of course you were forgetting something- your dinner plans with Leila. You sighed gently, trying to straighten out your schedule in your head.
“Oh, umm, yeah. We wanted to go to this new restaurant. I guess I forgot.” Because she was sitting in front of you, you missed the way Ingrid’s brow furrowed at the lack of enthusiasm in your response. Leila had become like a fun older sister to you. The two of you got dinner together at least once a week and were typically causing some sort of trouble during training. She kept you from taking yourself too seriously, worried that if you went unchecked you’d spiral under the amount of pressure you placed on yourself. Like many of the older girls, she had taken it upon herself to protect you. It was different with Leila because she treated you as more of an equal rather than a child. Because of this, everyone knew how much you cherished your time with her.
Mapi took the opportunity to lightly tease you for your weird behavior, “don’t get too excited there, chica.” She turned to look at you, trying to gauge your reaction to her comment.
It didn’t offend you, although you still didn’t laugh. You just weren’t really bothered by the comment at all. “Sorry, just thinking about other stuff.”
The older two girls had let it go, changing the subject as you got closer to the training grounds. You missed the look of nervousness shared between the two of them as you got lost in your thoughts once again.
~
You remained focused all throughout training, focusing on the things you needed to improve- speed, endurance, strength, passing, shooting, accuracy- the list in your head was miles long. Anytime the other girls would joke around, they knew you typically needed some coaxing to join in. However anytime one of your closer friends would get you in on it, that’s usually all it took. Leila was your weak spot, sometimes Pina too. They were always able to break down your walls of focus and seriousness and allow yourself to have a little fun. If it weren’t for them (and the rest of your team’s antics), everyone knew you’d sink into your perfectionism even further.
As you walked off the field at the end of the session, it was Pina that spoke to you first. “Hey, some of us are going out tomorrow night, you’re in right?”
Your face contorted with uncertainty, torn between the idea of having fun with your friends for a night and knowing you could use the sleep to prepare for Sunday's match.
Suddenly, an arm wrapped around your shoulders and you instantly recognized it as Leila’s, “Si, she’ll be there. Even if I have to drag her out myself.”
Well there was your answer. You gave the two girls a shrug, knowing you’d enjoy the time out with them. A little relaxation couldn’t hurt, right? You deserved it after how hard you had been working so far this season. And just because you went out didn’t mean you had to drink yourself into oblivion. You’d still be plenty prepared for the next match. As you all got ready to leave, Claudia filled you in on the plans, making you look forward to the night even more.
There was a newfound lightness in your step as you followed Leila to her car and went to the restaurant for dinner. You were excited for tomorrow night with everyone. It had been awhile since you’d let your guard down and just had fun for a night so you knew it’d be good for you. You knew how much you needed it and were thankful your friends were able to give you the little push you needed to agree. You were thankful for your friends until you got to dinner with Leila and learned the true reasons behind the night out.
You were sitting across from her, in the corner of the small restaurant when she broke the news to you- she’d be transferring to Manchester. The party tomorrow night was to have one last celebration together before she left. Instantly your chest tightened. She continued talking, explaining why it was a good decision and that she’d always be there to support you no matter how far away she was. However none of this registered to you. The second she said the words, you quit processing anything else.
Manchester? Why Manchester? How could she leave Barcelona? How could she leave you? She always said you were like family but you don’t just leave your family behind. Was Barcelona not good enough for her anymore? Or worse yet, did she not think she was good enough for Barcelona? If that was the case, how could you ever be good enough for Barca? Or for Leila for that matter? If you were a good enough “sister” to her, she would have no reason to want to leave, to go so far away.
Leila managed to pull you out of your thoughts when she reached across the table to hold your hand. “Hey, take a breath, it’s okay. You can still call me whenever you need anything, I’ll still come visit. You’ll be okay, I promise.”
She squeezed your hand tightly, trying to get you to meet her eyes, but you just couldn’t do it. You knew she had talked about not renewing her contract but you clearly had been too naive to think it could actually happen. Suddenly it hit you that other people must have already known. If Claudia had already had the time to plan a party, when did she find out about this? Had you been the last to find out?
“(y/n),” she squeezed your hand again, tighter this time, getting concerned at how you still had yet to respond.
Suddenly you were snapped back into reality, shaking your head quickly, “I’ve gotta go, I’m sorry.” Leila could hardly hear you as you mumbled, barely coherent. Frantically, you had pushed away from the table and made your way towards the door. You were almost running as you finally made it outside.
The cool evening air hit you hard. It helped you steady your breathing slightly, feeling less choked by the air of the restaurant. You didn’t notice how much your hands were shaking until you grabbed your phone to call Mapi, hoping she could pick you up.
In the time it took you to unlock your phone and pull up her contact, Leila appeared next to you. “Don’t be ridiculous, chiquita. I will drive you, come on.” She grabbed your hand before you had the chance to argue and led you to her car. Her silence was unusual but you hardly noticed, consumed by your thoughts.
Her heart broke when she saw your reaction. Obviously Leila knew you’d be upset but she couldn’t have imagined you’d take it this hard. The Spaniard was consumed with guilt as she tried her best to focus on the road ahead. It had crossed her mind that maybe she should have told you sooner but she wanted to make sure it was completely finalized first. You’d have other people that could step into her role when she was gone, people that would make sure you’d be taken care of. And like she said, she’d still be just a phone call away. Hopefully you just needed a night to let the shock wear off so you could both enjoy your time together before she had to leave.
You hardly realized that you had arrived in front of Mapi and Ingrid’s, the entire care ride being completely silent until now. “Chiquita, can we please talk?” She was still met with complete silence from you, taking it as an invitation to continue on. “Listen, I’m sorry. I should have talked to you sooner but I just-”
“It’s fine.” you shrugged her off, her face full of confusion.
“But, I should’ve-”
“Leila, it’s fine. I’m fine. I’ve got to go.”
“But (y/n), I-” and you were gone. Leila let out an exasperated sigh when you slammed the car door shut, mid sentence. So much for talking to you. The older woman texted Mapi, hoping she’d be able to talk to you in a way that was more successful than what had just happened.
Mapi had just read Leila’s message when you trudged through the front door. She decided not to let you know what Leila had told her, trying to see how much you’d be willing to share on your own. Committing to her plan, she greeted you, just as chipper as always, “Hola, Amiga! How was Leila?”
You responded with a shrug, doing your best to push your feelings down. If you just pushed them away, you’d be fine, right? “She was fine.” Mapi and Ingrid shared a look of concern at you making a beeline for your room. Once you made it to your room, then you could handle whatever you were feeling, but you weren’t about to do that in front of them.
Your plan would’ve worked out if it weren’t for Ingrid making one last attempt to get you to talk, “Hey, did you want to join us for a movie night?” You were so close, your door right in front of you. You pressed your forehead against the door, taking a strangled deep breath in an attempt to keep your emotions at bay. “(y/n)?” They shared another glance, concerned by your reaction.
Almost in slow motion, you turned silently to face the pair. “Did you know?” You choked over your words. You didn’t plan on talking about it tonight. You didn’t know how to face this news but you had to know the answer. Did Leila really tell everyone but you? The silence from Mapi told you everything you needed to know. All you could do was turn and take refuge in your bedroom.
As soon as the door shut, you pressed your back against it and slid down until you met the ground. Knowing you well, Mapi knew you’d want some time to handle it yourself. You were fiercely independent, always acting much older than you were. Sometimes Mapi had to remind others how young you were, making sure nobody went too hard on you. At times she had to remind you of that as well. Remind you that you were still learning, still figuring out life. Mapi admired your maturity but was also terrified that it would end up breaking you. She knew if she tried to follow you know, you’d push her out even further and want to try to fix it yourself first.
If only she could see you- sitting on the floor, tears rolling down your face as you choked down sobs. Your whole body shook, filled to the brim with emotions that you were too scared to let out. Your cries continued, much longer than ever before.
At some point during your crying, you had made your way into bed. The blankets and pillows provided you little comfort from the world inside your head. You didn’t even realize you had cuddled up with a sweatshirt of Leila’s. You borrowed it once when you were chilly and she let you keep it after she saw how much you loved it. It was instinctual for you to reach for it in times of stress so of course you hugged it tightly as you cried over the idea of her leaving you. Eventually, your cries seemed to tire you, succumbing to the exhaustion and falling into an uneasy sleep.
~
When Mapi and Ingrid had finished their movie and you were still yet to emerge from your room, they knew they needed to check up on you. Mapi being the closest with you, always took it upon herself to play the role of mother when you needed it. She knocked on your door lightly, expecting some sort of response. When she was met with none, she pressed her ear against your door, hoping to hear something that’d give her an idea of how you we doing. With still no response, she gently pushed the door open.
Upon seeing you, Mapi let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. You were curled up on your bed, fast asleep. She quietly sat down next to you, taking in your stressed appearance. Your face was still stained from tears, your eyes puffy and red. The older woman pushed some hair away from your face and ran her thumb over your eyebrows, hoping to relax the crease that remained on your face. It was clear to her who’s sweatshirt it was that you were gripping tightly. Mapi realized that while you were clearly sad, you must not be too angry at Leila herself. You wouldn’t be snuggled into her sweatshirt if you were mad at her.
Mapi pulled up your blanket around your shoulders and pressed a light kiss to your forehead, assuming that you’d be feeling better in the morning. Of course it would be hard on you to see one of the closest people in your life move away but Mapi knew she and Ingrid would be with you to help, no matter what it took. You were a hard worker, resilient in nature. There was no reason for anyone to expect you to be anything but that.
~
The next morning, Mapi was surprised when she entered the kitchen and didn’t see any trace of you. Sometimes you’d be up, cooking breakfast or at the very least, she’d see your empty mug in the sink which communicated that you’d had your coffee before going on a run. When she looked closer, she noticed your shoes and training bag already gone. Intending to call you, she opened her phone just to notice an unread message from you:
Wanted to train early. Used my run to run here. See you later.
Mapi’s face contorted as she read your message. How early had you left? The training grounds weren’t exactly close and would’ve taken a long time to run there. You were probably exhausted after being so upset the night before but maybe you wanted that run to clear your head and would talk with her afterwards.
~
Mapi and Ingrid arrived to training early, hoping to catch you before the rest of the team showed up. They stopped in the locking room first, thinking you’d be taking a break there and waiting for everyone else. When they didn’t find you there, they went on to the gym, the physio rooms, and the cafeteria- all of which remained empty. They hesitantly decided to check the pitch, confused as to why you’d be willing to spend more time in the sun on top of the time you’d spend outside for team training.
Of course that’s where they found you- on the side of the pitch running sprints. You didn’t notice them, fully lost in your own head, running as fast as your body would take you. Your lungs were burning. At this point, you had no idea how long you’d been running, definitely over an hour.
But you needed to. You had to get faster. You had to work harder. You had to prove that your spot on the team was not from getting lucky. You had worked for it. You were still working for it.
Maybe if you ran fast enough, you could run away from all your problems. Run away from here. Run away from being lonely. Or stressed. Or tired. Or insecure. Or not good enough. You didn’t need anyone’s help- not Leila’s, not Ingrid, not Mapi. You had to do this yourself. You had to work harder.
Mapi froze- watching you run yourself to exhaustion. She had never seen you like this. She’d seen you struggle but she’d never seen this. How would she even begin to help you? Clearly you couldn’t continue in this headspace but right now your friend was completely lost as to where to even begin with you. She sent Ingrid back inside, knowing her best chance at getting you to open up was if you were alone.
“Amiga! Come on! Come take a break before training starts!” Her shouting across the pitch at you was the first you were made aware of her presence. You shook your head at her and continued your sprints, not bothering to look her way. Your lungs didn’t have the capacity to use your voice at the moment. “Si, vamos! It was not a suggestion, you have to be done out here!” Once again, you ignored her.
The older woman let out a heavy sigh, knowing she was going to have to stop you herself. She did just that as she lightly jogged towards you, intending on intercepting your path. You didn’t even notice what she was doing until you suddenly struggled to avoid running into her. You stumbled over your feet while she grabbed at your shoulders, hoping to help steady you. With how fast you had been going, it was difficult trying to stop your momentum so suddenly- something she should have known before trying to get in your way.  As soon as you had steadied, you were filled with anger and Mapi’s hands holding onto you tightly were not helping. The Zaragozan had no idea the amount of rage you were about to unleash onto her.

I love seeing players taking a stand against the absurdities that confederations do to women's football.
Yesterday (February 15, 2024), we had the match between Corinthians and Ferroviária valid for the Brazilian Super Cup and after the victory, Gabi Portilho (a Corinthians player) took a position on some issues that have been debated on social media.
Many players were indignant – and rightly so – at the day and especially the time at which the game was played. Putting a women's football match during commercial hours is crazy, especially in the middle of the week. How does the Brazilian Football Confederation expect a large audience when the game takes place at 4PM on a Thursday? Have they forgotten that people work?
Even so, we had an audience of almost nine thousand people who attended Corinthians' victory and our attacker's speech at the end of the match. In a television interview, Gabi Portilho said the following:
"Firstly, I'm very happy to reach another final with this heavy shirt. It's not easy, there are a lot of adversities and that's what we always insist on, you know? Women's football is not a favor, I think that today, in a game like this the rivalry – against Ferroviária – is very big, it could have been a game a little later to fill the Neo Química Arena – Corinthians stadium – because this does not value Corinthians women's football, this values Brazilian women's football because when we break records, it is not Corinthians breaking a record, it is women's football – last year's Brazilian Championship final match between Corinthians and Ferroviária holds the record largest audience for a women's football match in all of South America, with almost 43 thousand spectators –. So I hope that in this final we can fill the Arena because playing at home is very good, they - the fans - are our twelfth player and it makes a difference in playing at home. Things can't happen as they have been happening, it's being shameful and I think Corinthians are a giant, if they want I'll give them some water so they don't have to swallow us dry because it's sad, everything we're going through is sad but I hope that on Sunday we can show up and play a great game against the Cruzeiro team.
Portilho's complaints are due to the fact that the TV channel that bought the rights to broadcast the match was the one who determined the terrible time at which it took place and because of this made it impossible for fans to go to the stadium.
I think she took a very risky — but very, very important — attitude in talking about this problem live and on the same channel that generated the revolt. I would like to see more players – like Mapi and Aitana did in that match where Mapi got elbowed — in other leagues take similar actions towards the problems surrounding the lack of VAR, among others.

How You Get The Girl
Alexia putellas x fem!reader
(Featuring Alexia in denial and Mapi’s devil antics)
Tumblr media
This was not how Alexia was expecting her weekend to go.
She was supposed to be having a weekend trip to Mallorca with her closest long-time friend, Jenni. As much as it pained Alexia to leave her 4 legged companion behind, she knew she would also have an even harder time leaving her at a hotel when her and Jenni went to some bars, as Jenni said ‘to find someone to spice up her life a bit’.
Mapi was definitely not her first choice on who to leave Nala with, however with most of the team using their break to travel back to their families, it left only Mapi and Ingrid to look after her Pomeranian.
However, after receiving a frantic phone call from Mapi, with the few words she managed to make out due to the defender’s worry laced voice being: Nala, Cake, Vets.
———————————————————————
Alexia rushed onto the next flight and was at the vets in around 2 hours, to find Mapi still in the waiting room clutching her beloved dog, and Alexia was quick to snatch Nala from her.
It took everything in Alexia’s power to not start cursing Mapi out for her carelessness, but as she gave in and threw a snide remark at the defender, it was interupted by the receptionist.
“Nala is ready to be seen”
Alexia rushed to the door with Nala in her arms, and Mapi trailing behind. They were shown into the room, and Alexia walked straight into someone quite a bit shorter than her, this combined with the fact she is a professional footballer who keeps on top of her strength training resulted in her basically knocking this person over.
“¡Lo siento, lo siento!”, She said whilst keeping her eyes on Nala to check she wasnt hurt even more by her collision.
As Alexia looked up at the person she had crashed into, she was met with arguably the most beautiful women she had ever seen. Only to be met with a shove from her best friend, was when Alexia realised she had been staring.
“Alexia stop ogling the poor woman and apologise”
“I did!” countered the midfielder.
“Maybe in English would be smarter? So that she actually understands you!”
At the realisation that you had absolutely no idea what ‘lo siento’ meant, Alexia’s cheeks flushed crimson red, which recieved one of Mapi’s infamous snorts of laughter behind her.
Alexia honestly had no idea what was happening to her. She knows that your pretty, but she had seen other pretty girls before, why did you make her feel like this?
“Hello, I will be Nala’s vet for today, i will just go grab her records from reception, wont be a minute!” you said with a soft smile.
As soon as the door clicked shut behind you, Mapi burst iut laughing.
“Ale, as much as i love you, you were embarrassing there! If this is how you act around girls, no wonder you have never had a serious relationship”
“Shut up! I am not attracted to her, she makes me feel like i want to throw up!”
“Honey, thats called butterflies in your stomach! pretty cliché if you ask me, but I didnt realise you were such a romantic!” Mapi retorted, still laughing.
“I’m not a romantic. I’m not into her. I just want her to treat my dog, and then i can go play football after”
“Wait until i tell the team about this! The scary la reina, reduced to a blushing mess by a cute vet who she body slammed and then spent a minute ogling her, all because she has a little crush”
Before Alexia could respond with a threat of using her captain title to punish Mapi with tunning laps, the door clicked open to reveal you rushing back in.
Nala, who usually was very timid and barked at anyone who got near her, immediately jumped off of Alexia’s lap and ran straight up to you and jumped at your legs, to which you responded by picking her up and gushing over the cute little ball of fluff.
Alexia knew that if she wasnt already sat down her knees would have buckled at the sight of her dog basically confirming the fact that you were perfect for her. As Alexia contined to daydream about you, she was interupted by a hand clicking in her face, to which she turned to glare at Mapi’s toothy grin.
“Te distrajiste, el lindo vert estaba tratando de preguntarte sobre Nala. (You zoned out, the cute vet was trying to ask you about Nala)” Mapi said with a knowing smirk.
“¡Callarse la boca! y deja de llamarla linda. (Shut up! and stop calling her cute”
“¿Celosa? (jealous?)”
“Nunca. (never)”
However, when the two spaniards turned to face you, they were met by your dumbfounded face trying to decipher a word of what they just said. Although you had been taking Spanish classes since you moved to Spain, both Alexia and Mapi spoke the languge with too heavy of an accent and too fast for you to understand.
“So you filled out your form saying Nala ate a full chocolate cake?” You asked.
“¡Si! Yes! Will she be okay?” Alexia responded worriedly.
“Honestly this happens a lot, and there is no point her having ang unnecessary procedures, so we usually reccomend her take these tablets twice a day for a week and if you notice any unusual behaviour, bring her back here. I will write you a prescription for it now!”
“Ah okay thankyou, do I scedule an appointment for after she finishes the pills for a checkup?”
“No, the pills are enough, no checkup” You say with a smile.
As Alexia now realised that she would probably not see you again for a while, she slumped back in her seat and a new frown sat predominantly on her face.
Upon Mapi seeing this, she immediately felt an impulsive urge to assist one of her closest friends in her crush dilemma situation.
So Mapi did what she did best.
“My friend thinks your hot and wants your number now”
At hearing this you blushed bright red and Alexia smacked Mapi round the head.
“Excuse my friend! She can be very blunt… and stupid” Alexia said as Mapi emits an offended gasp, “As I would have politely asked you at the end, could I please have your number, as I think your very beautiful”
You are still sat there in absolute shock, you knew who these two people were, Alexia Putellas and Mapi Leon. Two world famous Spanish and Barcelona football players, you couldn’t help but wonder what the two time balon d’or winner wanted with your number.
Unfortunately, Alexia mistook your shock for rejection.
“I’m sorry, I have made it awkward, it’s okay that you dont feel comfortable giving me your number” Alexia suddenly stood up to leave, and pulled Mapi up with her “Thankyou for your help, goodbye”
The spaniard quickly took the prescription from your desk and rushed out with Nala in her arms, and urging Mapi to follow her, who felt slightly bad for embarrassing her friend like that.
———————————————————————
Alexia quicky rushed back down the corridor to the receptionist desk, wanting to get Nala’s prescription, and get out of the stupid vets as soon as possible, probably as she knew to return to her house and cry at the embarrassment she had suffered today.
The midfielder was about to hand over the prescription to the receptionist, but Mapi’s eyes caught a glimpse of something on the back of the paper.
“Alexia stop!”
Alexia turned to glare at the defender, “What now?” She said followed by an exasperated sigh.
“The paper!”
At this, Alexia turned over the paper, and couldn’t stop the smile tugging at her lips, as there was your number hastily scribbled down with a note: -call me
As she noted down the number into her contacts, she realised, she hadn’t even asked for your name.
Alexia turned to the receptionist, and asked, “Who was the vet that just saw us?”
“Y/n, she’s sweet, just moved here from London recently!”
“Thankyou” Alexia replied, as the receptionist grabbed the pills, Alexia put down your name into her contacts and sent you a quick message.
- Hey! It’s Alexia, from the clinic, I wasn’t lying when i told you i thought you were beautiful and I would love to take you on a date sometime?

Mapi: This date is boring.
Ingrid: This isn't a date; I said I was going to the store.
Mapi: Then why did you invite me?
Ingrid: I specifically said "don't come with me" and you said "Fuck you, Engen, I do whatever I want" and followed me here.

The Wall: Pt.3
Mapi Leon X teen!Reader
Inspired by the song "The Wall" by GroupLove
“Just sitting on a wall, always trying to do it all” “Really wanna get away, to where I couldn’t say” “Yeah I’m scared but there’s really no reason to be" "It goes round and round, promise me that we will never let life beat us down.” “And if you wanna cry just hold your head up to the sky”“And if you wanna play, that’s fine with me I love this game”

When you woke up on Saturday you were slightly confused as to how you had ended up in your bed again. Hopefully you’d be able to keep to yourself and avoid any more of Mapi’s questions. You had plenty to do before the game tomorrow so you had plenty to keep yourself occupied, away from the older woman.
For the most part you were successful. Maybe Mapi had finally gotten the message that you were fine and didn’t need her help. You spent a good part of the day going through your notes you had made from the night before, making sure to memorize everything you needed to do better. Most of your day was spent in your room alone and most of Mapi’s was spent running errands and spending time with Ingrid. It was perfect. If she was occupied, she couldn’t be trying to wedge her way into your business.
As you typically did, the three of you had dinner together- something Ingrid had made. It was quieter than usual but missed the tension that had been present in the prior conversations between you. Even Mapi could admit you seemed more normal, more yourself. Maybe you weren’t doing as bad as she thought? It was enough for her to decide not to keep pushing you unless you gave her another reason to. If you stayed like this, maybe there wasn’t anything to worry about.
~
Sunday was game day. You got up early, starting your day with a short (and much easier than usual) run. It was important to you to always keep the same routine, especially on game days. You’d read it in some book- strong routines made players better. If you followed every part of your morning routine, you’d be in a better headspace for the game later.
This was just one of many things you learned from your different books and podcasts that you were always using to try to improve your game. A lot of people said it was too much, that you can’t be perfect. Not to you though. It wasn’t about perfection, it was about proving yourself. That you hadn’t gotten lucky. That you really could perform at the highest level. You had to be someone your team could count on. Nothing terrified you more than the idea of letting the team down. So if it took going on a run or keeping a strong routine, of course you’d do that.
You followed your routine perfectly- your normal route on your run, the same usual pregame meal, your left boot before your right, just like always, your same braided ponytail. As you looked in the mirror, finishing off your braid, you tried to give yourself a small pep talk. You’re fine, pull yourself together. You’re ready for this. It’s just another game, it’s the one thing you know how to do right.
Everything about your day was the same as you always, which you could only hope would lead to a successful game. You were glad Mapi had decided to let you be, allowing you to stop focusing on her and start focusing on the game ahead of you. Before every match, she always gave you a big hug, lifting you off the ground in the process. Luckily, she kept this tradition, even if she was maybe still mad at you for yelling at her just a few days earlier.
Mapi hadn’t said anything about being mad at you but you figured she would be. You had yelled in her face and pushed her away from you, she should be mad at you. The older woman had basically volunteered to be your parent  when you joined the team. She had done so many things for you and you thank her by yelling at her? You sure couldn’t blame her if she was angry, especially when you still hadn’t apologized or spoken with her about it.
You tried your best to push the thoughts out of your mind as the game got closer. As soon as Mapi gave you your hug, you were able to let everything else go. Pina had joined you for your typical handshake you always shared, and you were back in your game day headspace. You were focused. Ready. Ready to show everyone how hard you had been working. Ready to show everyone you were good enough. Ready to show your team that they could depend on you.
The game was more difficult than anyone had expected. You were used to being up early on, usually by multiple points. When it hit half time and the game was still tied at zero, everyone was starting to get frustrated. During the break, you re-braided your hair and re-tied your boots, just as you always did. Mapi gave you another one of her hugs in the tunnel along with some words of encouragement. You knew you’d be fine, you always were.
All of you went into the second half energized from the short break and with a new plan on how to get the ball in the back of the net. You had the motivation to pull out another win, for your team. Unfortunately, motivation doesn’t win games.
You were subbed off around 70 minutes, the score still tied at zero. Everyone thought that the subs would change things up enough to pull ahead. The Barcelona bench was stacked- the fresh legs and mindset would surely be enough to pull ahead. The whole team was playing hard, changing up tactics when the time called for it. But the other team was doing the same thing, just as well. Nothing motivated your opponents like the idea of beating Barca. Just the mere thought of it gave people enough energy to play harder than they ever had before. This proved to be true when the ninety minutes was finished and a point was yet to be scored by either team.
After yet another short break and team meeting, extra time started. The game was more physical as both teams started getting more desperate for a point. You hated the feeling of being on the bench, unable to contribute. All you could do was bite at your nails subconsciously, somehow trying to will your teammates to score.
Everyone was willing to lay it all on the line- your team motivated by the need to win, the need to maintain the Barca reputation, the need to prove yourselves. Your opponents motivated by the idea of beating the legendary Barcelona femini, to break the winning streak, to come out on top. It was exhausting for everyone. Even those on the bench were exhausted. Your nails were almost bleeding as your anxiety grew. The mere idea of continuing to play on was enough to bring any of you to your knees. When extra time ended, still tied, you all knew it was time to go to penalties.
You knew how to handle penalties. This is where all your extra time on the pitch and work on your mindset paid off. You had taken a million penalties before and were known to be someone people could count on. Even so, it normally never got to you. There were plenty of veteran players that would be counted on first.
Both teams had taken five shots so far and both teams were still tied. Alexia, Mapi, and Patri had all made it while Mariona and Salma had their shots blocked. Your opponents had the exact same results, meaning you were up next.
Some of your teammates gave you some high fives and short hugs of encouragement before you made your way up to the ball. You could easily tune out the noise of the crowd and put yourself in exactly the spot you wanted, letting everything else melt away. The weight of the moment didn’t even cross your mind as you knew exactly what you needed to do. Taking a deep breath, you channeled your focus before taking the shot. You watched the ball sail towards the corner of the goal and you watch the goalkeeper dive towards it, just barely grazing the ball with the tip of her gloves. It was just enough to push the ball straight over the top of the crossbar, giving you your first ever missed penalty in your professional career.
It took everything in you not to drop to the ground. It wasn’t over yet. Your opponent just had to miss it too. Cata could save it. She always did.
You blinked back tears, just hoping this wouldn’t be it. Praying that the ball wouldn’t hit the back of the net. Alexia reached for your hand, hoping to provide some comfort as you all watched, hoping the game wouldn’t end here. Mapi pulled you into her shoulder, knowing you would need her if this is what ended the game.
They had all been there before. All your teammates knew that if this resulted in a loss, it wasn’t your fault. Everyone had neglected to score during regular play. Everyone was responsible. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Everyone knew that.
Except as you watched your opponent shoot, you were ready to throw up. Cata couldn’t quite reach the ball, her finger tips not stretching long enough. The ball flew straight passed her outstretched arm and into the net.
Everything around you went silent, but somehow also mind-numbingly loud as you fell to your knees. All the work you had put in was suddenly for nothing. The rubber band that was wound so tightly within you, holding you together, had just snapped on impact. Tears were pouring from your eyes and you had lost all awareness of your surroundings. You smacked the ground, overwhelmed by the ringing in your ears. Overwhelmed by your anger. By your frustration. Your Failure. Your loneliness. Brokenness.
You were being suffocated by all your thoughts. You couldn’t make sense of any of them, they were just beating you down, forcing you to remain frozen, sobbing into the grass.
Nobody had seen you like this before. Mapi had seen you in some pretty low places but still nothing close to this. She and Alexia both dropped to the ground on either side of you, hoping to provide you a small amount of privacy from the crowds and the cameras that would surely be interested in getting your reaction right now. If they could just bring you back to reality, they could at least help you get back to the locker room, away from the prying eyes.
The two older girls didn’t realize quite how bad it was until they were down on the ground next to you. You were sobbing hard, almost wheezing because of your lack of breath. One hand was gripping the grass harder than they knew possible, the other holding your chest tight, hoping it would somehow help you breathe.
Mapi placed a hand softly on your back, knowing how much you appreciated physical contact. She hoped that it wouldn’t overstimulate you in your current state but it was the only thing she could think of. When you didn’t flinch away from her, she took it as a green light to continue. Alexia gently uncurled your hand from the grass, holding it in her own. It was all they could do to attempt to ground you, but you only responded with more hiccups, completely unaware of their presence.
“Amiga breathe, it’s okay. You’re okay. We’ve got you.” Mapi pleaded with you, her words doing little to calm you down. When you still didn’t acknowledge them, the two older girls shared a look, knowing they needed to get you off the pitch if they wanted to make any real progress with you.
Somehow they managed to pull you up, more or less carrying you as you went mostly limp. You weren’t too far from the tunnel to begin with so while it wasn’t easy, it was doable for them to get you there. Your arms were wrapped around their shoulders, holding it there with one of their hands while the other wrapped around your waist. After playing for this long, they were both exhausted, the loss weighing heavily on them too. It took everything in them just to get you to the tunnel, hoping the quiet and privacy would help you calm down.
Once they got you seated on the ground, the two girls returned to their efforts of bringing you back to them. There were tears still streaming down your face, unaffected by the new environment, while you still struggled to breathe, lost in a spiral of anguish, fully hyperventilating. Mapi decided to take the lead, knowing she knew you better than anyone.
She sat down directly in front of you, taking both your hands in hers. The one she placed on her chest, right over top her heart, hoping it would help calm your breathing. “(y/n), just try to breathe, match my breaths,” she was taking exaggerated deep breaths, talking softly, hoping to guide you back to her. “You don’t have to worry, we’ve got you, you’re okay. Just think about breathing, don’t think about anything else.” The older woman was close to tears herself- she had never seen you like this before and if her usual tactics didn’t work, she didn’t know how else to help you.
Alexia sat silently next to you, running her hand softly down your back, giving Mapi looks of encouragement that she was doing the right thing. The older woman gave her a slight nod, pushing her to continue her actions.
A heavy sigh escaped Mapi before she continued on. She brought one hand to cup your face, trying to force you to make eye contact with her. She didn’t know if it would be too much for you but it was all she could think of to bring you back to her.
You were slightly grateful for her attempt, hoping that somehow the look in your eyes would communicate how completely terrified you were. It was like your body forgot how to breathe and you didn’t know how to fix it. Your vision was slightly blurry, from tears or from the lack of oxygen, you didn’t know but the eye contact at least helped you see her face, a face of familiarity and comfort. Seeing one of your best friends, someone who you knew would protect you, calmed your nerves slightly. Mapi wouldn’t let anything bad happen to you and you knew it, even if you currently felt like you might die at any moment.
“Amiga, I need you to try to breathe with me. Just see if you can match my breaths, you can do it, I promise.” You nodded frantically, really hoping you could fulfill the older woman’s request. All you could do was let out more gasps, but you really were trying. The lack of improvement almost freaked you out more but Mapi seemed to read the look on your face before you were able to spiral further. “You’re okay, you’re doing great, just keep trying to match me. You’ve got this, you don’t need to think about anything else.”
You nodded more, and tried to focus further. Your hand that had been on her chest, feeling the rhythm of her breath morphed into you gripped her kit tightly. After a few minutes, your gasps had morphed into sobs, a small improvement from your previous state. As soon as you seemed to be breathing better, Mapi pulled you into her chest, holding you as tightly as she could. It was as if her hug could protect you from everything, from yourself. Tears started to spill from her own eyes, wondering how she could’ve let you get like this in the first place. How could she have let you put so much pressure on yourself that one missed penalty had you on the ground, barely able to breathe.
Alexia remained next to both of you, running one hand through Mapi’s hair and one down your back, hoping to help you both calm down. After what seemed like an eternity, Mapi pulled away from you slightly, keeping her hands on your shoulders, almost as if she were afraid to let go of you completely. She didn’t even bother wiping away her tears, letting them fall silently.
“Amiga, it’s okay. Nobody is mad at you for missing that shot.”
“I let everyone down.” Your words were barely a whisper, all energy completely drained from you.
“No, no, no, no, no. You didn’t let anyone down. Not me, not Alexia, not anyone. I promise. If we all would’ve played better, we wouldn’t have even gotten to penalties in the first place. It’s not on you, we’ve all been there.”
“This is all too much, Maps. I can’t do this.”
“What do you mean, amiga? You don’t have to do anything, you are perfect.”
“No! I can’t do it!” your voice raised as you found your words again, “I’ve tried so hard for so long and I’m just exhausted! There’s not much left of me!” you were practically shouting as you cried. “I go early and I stay late and I take extra runs and I eat healthy and I don’t take cheat days and I don’t complain and I don’t cry and I do all the things in all the fucking books and I still fail. I failed everyone! I’m just so tired of everything and need a break from it all but I can’t get a break!” It felt good to finally get the words off your chest but you still broke down into more tears, falling directly into Mapi’s chest as you did so.
The older woman held you tight, once again. Rocking you gently, running a hand through your hair as she whispered to you in spanish. Once you had quieted, she spoke again, “Amiga you’re allowed to take a break.”
You pulled away, shaking your head, ready to argue with her before she cut you off, placing her hands on either side of your face, wiping your tears softly with her thumbs. “You’re allowed to cry and to complain. You don’t have to do it all. We are a team for a reason. Nobody has to take on everything. Not you, not me, not even Ale.” You gave Alexia a skeptical look as she was still sitting next to you, just taking in Mapi’s words. She needed to hear the reminders herself at times.
Mapi used your silence to continue, “None of us have to take on everything, Amiga. Especially not you, you’re still just a kid. You get to cry. You get to struggle at times. You get to be a pain in the ass if you want. Hell, I’m almost ten years older than you and Ale would still say I’m a pain in the ass.” You let out a smile at her attempt at a joke. Alexia let out a giggle, silently agreeing with Mapi’s words. “It’s true though Amiga, nobody expects you to be perfect all the time. You are good enough. You are always good enough. You don’t have to work yourself to death. You don’t have to hold it all in. Everything about you is good enough and it always will be.” The older woman raised her eyebrows at you, checking to see if you believed her yet.
Normally it would take a lot more to get this point across to you but Mapi spoke with such conviction. She had held your gaze the entire time, never once letting go of you. You gave her a slight nod and pulled her in for yet another hug. It wouldn’t fix everything, you both knew that. But it was a starting point.
After a minute, your two teammates helped you up, leading you back to the locker room to change before going to the bus. Mapi refused to leave your side and Alexia was there to make sure you both had everything you needed as you got ready to go.
Mapi couldn’t risk letting you go unprotected. She had to make sure you were okay and she had to make sure nobody could hurt you, even if it was your own thoughts. She sat down with you on the bus and pulled you against her, lulling you to sleep. All she could do was continue to hold you and tell you how good you were. That you were good enough and perfect and her favorite person in the world (but don’t tell Ingrid). Mapi would help you get down off this wall, no matter what it took, and you both knew it.

I'm not looking for forgiveness
Pairings~ Maria Leon x older sister! Reader
Genre ~ Angst
Warnings~ mentions pass substance abuse and character death, short and all over the place.
Disclaimer~ I'm not sure if mapi has any siblings as I'm still new to the football world but for the sake of this we'll pretend she doesn't .
Tumblr media
"Mapi please listen to me".
"Y/n believe me when I say I don't want anything to do with you after what you put our family through for 3 years."
The disconnection tone, as well as a lifetime of regret, rang in your ear. You knew your sister's anger was warranted for the lifetime of trauma you put her through.
Mapi was just a teenager when she watched you throw your life away to drugs and alcohol and despite her age, she was the only one in your corner when your parents' inevitability gave up on you. Almost debilitated trying to keep you a float while also pursuing foot.
Even after her big break with FC barcelona, Mapi poured her heart and soul into helping you overcome your obsession, going as far as to pay for therapy, rehad sessions and support programs despite her parents fair warning which she soon regretted when she found out that money was been invested to fuel your addiction.
Completely gutted, she confronted you, but high off your ass you just disregarded her efforts laughing in her face, repeating the ditty as everyone else.
"You can't help someone that doesn't want it mapi."
And that was enough for her to complete leave you to your own demise while painful she had no choice but to harden her heart when it came to you.
°•°•°°•°•°•°°°•°
You're well aware of your sister's feelings, hell your family's feelings towards you, but seeing your sister at least was something that you had to do. You owed her that, at least. So you waited patiently in the parking lot of camp nou waiting for your sister to be done with training.
You sat a while in the blazing sun until you saw the heavily tattooed defender making her way over to her car, which you sat in front of when she's see you her smile immediately melts and her face hardens.
"I told you I dont want to speak to you cause if you're looking for cash for your next fix, forget it."
You shiver lightly at the cold tone, but you knew you deserved it. "I don't need money, maria, it's just something really important i have to tell you."
"Well, save it cause I really don't care."
"I'm dying, maria." You said softly, hoping there was a better way to say it, but when you saw that she would have left without hearing you out, you settled for the raw truth.
"What?"
"I'm dying, and I don't want money or anything just to let you know"
You've never seen so many emotions flash on mapi's face before, and you knew immediately which one it would settle on and braced yourself for what's to come.
"What do you expect you do drugs for half your life and wasted the help I tried to give when nobody else would. Did you think this wouldn't happen? This is your karma y/n, and I hope you take it well cause I've run out of sympathy to give."
The harsh words stung yes, but you took it with a smile and that only added fuel to an already burning fire mapi continued to berate you, and you did nothing but take it on the chin reaching into your backpack pulling out a crumble envelope waiting for her to get everything off her chest.
When you felt it safe to extended your hand with the envelope, hoping she'd take it, which she did before crumbing it up and tossing it to the ground but pushing your body down aswell.
"I hate you with my entire being y/n, and I'm glad I'll permanently be rid of you. Have a good what's left of your pathetic life."
You pick yourself up shakily, watching as mapi's car quickly left the lot before picking up the letter and straightening it out, willing yourself not to cry cause in your heart you knew mapi was right. This is your karma.
°•°•°•°•°•°
Ingrid eyebrows furrowed in confusion when she gathered the mail the next day and saw the crumpled looking envelope she wanted to question her girlfriend about it, but she was out with alexia for the day.
So besides herself, she gently opened the envelope to see a letter written gracefully in cursive before reading and coming to two conclusions. mapi has a sister, and that sister is dying.
When mapi came home that afternoon, she found her girlfriend sitting while reading from a piece of paper that was quickly pushed to her chest wordlessly when ingrid realised she was back.
The shorter of the two brought the paper within eyesight in confusion before she recognised the handwriting and scoff but reading regardless.
Dear Maria,
I understand that I haven't been the best person in the world to our family and to you specifically, but I just needed you to know how sorry I am. I've been sorry for a while now long before I knew what my faith was. I spent months trying to figure out how I would prove to you how sorry I am, but I saw the life you built for yourself and figured it was best if I stayed away knowing how poisonous I can be. I'm sorry map's I really am I wish I would have taken the time when I had it to let you know but that's not the case. I'm in no way asking for your forgiveness. I don't deserve it. I just wanted you to know that you're 100% free of me and you'll do great things my little star and I'm forever thankful and proud of you.
A loving goodbye,
Y/n Leon."

𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐏𝐭. 𝟒
𝖠𝗅𝖾𝗑𝗂𝖺 𝖯𝗎𝗍𝖾𝗅𝗅𝖺𝗌 𝗑 𝖱𝖾𝖺𝖽𝖾𝗋
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: swearing, mentions of smut (reader is in her redemption era 🙏!! Also should i just make this into a book and make it more interesting). 𝐏𝐭. 𝟓
After, Mapi talked to the staff she took me home and let me rest. Mapi called explained that you’ve recently been informed of a death in the family which was a 𝐥𝐢𝐞 but she bought you some time off. Fast forward 2 weeks i’ve been doing better and thriving with the help of Mapi. Our friendship has stronger and we’ve gotten close, really close. We’ve formed almost a special bond I can’t explain.
We sometimes go out for coffee and out for lunch, and enjoy ourselves. Me and Mapi just get along in a special, way. Alexia has tried reaching out many times, I haven’t entertained her since the incident, at practice but i’ve been curious. There’s nothing she could possibly do to fix this.
I’ve been focusing on myself lately, i’ve actually found a good shrink by the help of Mapi. There’s a lot of things that i have to unlock about what happened, with me, and Alexia and my past. There’s no words to explain how thankful i am for Mapi. Me and Mapi were having a cordial conversation with each other wise making dinner for later tonight we were interrupted by my phone beginning to ring our smiles dropped.
Me and the tattooed woman looked at each other wondering who could possibly be calling me. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, i picked up my phone and saw Alexia’s name on my phone.
I let out a deep sigh in frustration and declined the call and rolled my eyes and put my phone on ‘𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐛’ and brushed it off as nothing, as i tried to go back to normal. Mapi paused and stared at you trying to gauge your expression.
“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 ?“ You said when you caught her dark brown eyes on you. “𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 ?“ she said nodding to herself laughing shaking her head in disbelief. “𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐡 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡“ you said shaking your head waving her off with your hands.
“𝐍𝐨 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 ’𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠’ 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥, 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝?!? 𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭“ the tattooed woman said waving her hands in the air showing her frustration and expression. You nodded your head in agreement and sighed, the next thing you were about to say was something you were dreading
“𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐢 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩“ You said keeping your head down afraid of what Mapi had to say about this. You were met with silence, you looked up to see Mapi thinking about what you said “𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐢 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 ?! 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝..𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?“ You said
“𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞“ the blonde said grabbing your face in her palms, “𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐢 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢’𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞“ she said finally smiling. This meant the world to you, “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭“ you said as you pulled her in a hug. Stuck in you guys daze you smelt something burning.
“𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐢 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠“ Both of you let out a loud laugh and you continued to make dinner. Fast forward to later that night, after you to finished dinner and cleaned up, you decided that then and there was the time to contact Alexia and tell her you were up to hear what she had to say. You and Mapi sat on the couch with your phone in hand.
You let in a deep breath and let it out calming yourself for this moment not wanting a repeat of last time. Mapi rubbing your back for extra support. You opened your phone and saw the many missed calls from Alexia and many text from the night you left. Your eyes wide like saucers looking at the behavior of Alexia.
This didn’t impress you, that was your step forward as a person, this energy should’ve been in the relationship a long ago maybe this wouldn’t have happened. You looked at Mapi the same expression written all over her face, you pressed Alexia’s contact and called her. Letting the phone ring waiting for Alexia to answer.
You looked at Mapi and said “𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤-“ and you were quickly cut off by Alexia’s voice cutting in saying “𝐁-𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 ?! 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 ?! 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐢’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ Alexia speaking fast everything she said coming out as word vomit, she was so shocked that you answered that she didn’t even let the phone dial after 3 times. “𝐇-𝐡𝐢 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚“ You said still shocked by how fast everything’s going.
“𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫“ Mapi said in a whisper, i side eyed her and nodded my head putting it on speaker. “𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫. 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞?“ She said, “𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚 𝐢 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 “𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞“ 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚, 𝐢 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐝“ you said explaining yourself to Alexia.
“𝐎𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚“ Alexia said in a exaggerated tone making the blonde woman beside you roll her eyes in annoyance. “𝐎𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬“ you said with a sigh “𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝟐 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐢 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ Alexia said, after she said that it made Mapi angry, she was about to give Alexia a peace of her mind.
You prevented that by saying “𝐎𝐤𝐚𝐲𝐲 𝐛𝐲𝐞“ and ended the call before Mapi could say anything. “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥“ Mapi said shaking her head and rolling her eyes, she looked at you holding in your laugh, you started bursting out laughing like crazy, Mapi started laughing to at the craziness of everything.
Sometimes you just needed a good laugh after the hardship you’ve been through. Fast forward 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚. Today was the day to talk to Alexia, she even texted me to remind me and made sure to call, we decided to meet a local coffee shop near by. I got ready putting a simple black nike track sweatpants track suit and made my way into my car to go and meet up with alexia.
I saw Alexia sitting at the table with two cups in her hands, as i got out of my car and came towards the table. “𝐇𝐢 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚“ you said getting her attention off her phone. “𝐇𝐢, 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐢 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞“ she said with a nice smile on her face holding the drink up on the air for you to grab.
“𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐀𝐥𝐞, 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤“ You said with a half smile it brought a fuzzy feeling in your chest that she even remembered what your favorite drink it, but this didn’t mean anything nor take back the stuff she said or did to me. “𝐍𝐨, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐲/𝐧 𝐢 𝐨𝐰𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐬𝐨 𝐢 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.“
You nodded in response as both of you sat down. Alexia cleared her throat and rubbed her hands together and looked up and down at you. You raised one of your eyebrows nodding your head in encouragement for her to speak. “𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚, 𝐢 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐢 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ she said pausing finding it hard to find her next words looking down, dropping her gaze. “𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐲/𝐧-“, i started to lose focus getting lost in my head.
Everything Alexia said sounded muffled and my eyes started to blur with tears, as one fell out my eyes rolling down my cheek. “𝐈’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐲/𝐧, 𝐢’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲“ Alexia’s voice coming back to focus sniffling wiping her tears looking down the table for a napkin. You wiped your face and sniffled looking around trying to find something more interesting.
“𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐱 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐲/𝐧“ Alexia said breaking the silence, you’d scoffed shaking your head in disbelief as to what she was saying. “𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫 ? 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫?“ You said with venom in your face, making Alexia look up with a frown on her face “𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐲/𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠“ Alexia said.
You nodded your head trying to take everything in, “𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬“ She said reaching for your hand on the table but you slowly pulled away shaking your head ‘no’ “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞“ you said answering to her.
The blonde in front of you nodded in agreement “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭“ Alexia said with determination in her voice moving forward almost like she was telling you a secret. You looked down and checked your phone for the time seeing a message from Mapi that read “𝐈 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚<𝟑” you smiled at your phone and looked up and decided it was time to head home.
“𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 ? 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤“ you started getting up gathering your stuff. Alexia got up and said, “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ Alexia said with a smile as she reached in for a unaccepted hug which made you stiffen from shock as you grabbed one hand to pat her back to say ‘All done get off me’. She smiled and walked off.
You 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 to tell Mapi about this.
𝐎𝐦𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐩𝐚𝐝. !!🥳

Everything and more // María León
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request and kinda this. Enjoy
Ale felt like she was talking to a wall.
The team was in their local pub, enjoying the day off after the el clasico win.
Mapi was sat next to you and Alexia and before Alexia could even start talking, the defender had only eyes for you. Your hand was resting comfortably on her thigh as you talked to Patri. Mapis skin was on fire, something she couldn‘t control when you were near or more than that, touching her. That girl was madly in love with you - a teenager romance.
You look at her - weak knees.
You talk to her - stuttering mess.
You hug her - wobbly wreck.
All in all, it didn‘t matter what you did or said at the end of the day Mapi would love you either way If not more.
Everything and more.
Looking at you with googly eyes, she couldn’t help but smile at you, lovingly.
After minutes of trying to get the blonde to engage in the conversation, Alexia just stopped and started talking to the other girls.
Every question towards Mapi fell to deaf ears as she admired you, heart skipping a beat at each of your smiles. María couldn‘t help but scoot closer to you, her arm around your waist as she bit her lip, eyes roaming over every inch of your body. "Amor" she whispered the conversation with Patri came to a stop due the waiter bringing new drinks, "can we go home?" she whined, her free hand wandering along your leg, inching closer to your private area.
"No"
Letting out a huff, she pulled her hand away from your leg yet not leaving your touch completely.
The next hour was the same as the first: Mapi fully obsessed with you and everything you do.
Every now and then she would whisper an 'i love you' in your ear with a sloppy needy kiss to your cheek.
"Drinks?" you asked the girls after awhile, slightly tipsy. They cheered in agreement. As you stood up, Mapi got up as well, not wanting leave your side. You looked at her confused, what was she doing? "I‘m helping youuu" she sang, grinning as her hand slipped in the back pocket of your jeans - claiming you as hers.
There were 3 stages of Mapi;
stage 1: sober - madly in love with and follows you like a puppy.
stage 2: tipsy/ little bit more - energetically in love with you and gets clingy.
stage 3: drunk/ wasted - crazily in love with you, clingy and follows you like a lost puppy.
And stage 2 was the case at the moment. Nevertheless, her jealousy was there at every stage, yet it wasn't the level that mattered but the person who you talked to/flirted with you - she was always jealous. It just depened on the person how much. "Baby, take a seat" you told her in a sweet voice, kissing her lips quickly. Mapi gave you her famous drunk-pout with crossed but didn‘t say anything. Though, she watched you like a hawk as you walked up to the bar. The team took the chance to talk to their friend with no success. With her eyes drained on your beautiful figure, her heart swooned at everything you did. It wasn‘t until a mid aged man came near you. Her lovestruck smile turned into a clenched jaw.
"Hey, i‘m sorry. Are you Y/l/n?" he asked, friendly.
"Yeah! How are you?" you replied, matching his friendly demeanor. "I don‘t want to bother you but my daugther - she’s 6" he showed you his lock screen, a little girl grinning widely as she held a Barcelona jersey in her hands. "That was her reaction when my wife and I gifted her your jersey. She‘s a really big fan."
"Thats really sweet!"
"Um, well, is there any chance I could take a photo with you or get an autograph somehow? Of course only if you agree with it a 100%"
As you thought of the little girl who had such a big smile on her face, your mind was made up quickly, "why don‘t we do both?"
It was clear to say she definitely got that bright smile from her father. "Thank you so much!"
As you took the picture with him, he made sure to have a respectable amount space between the two of you. And as you were about to scribble your signature on the napkin, you felt an arm snuggle around you. María. She pressed a kiss to your temple as she made her statement, "hola amor, ¿quién es?" she asked, glaring at the creature of a man. "This is-"
"Jack" he ended your sentence.
"His daughter is a big fan" you declared, knowing how her mind was working. Interwining your fingers, you calmed the defender down who had already made up a few scenarios in her mind what was going on and how to shoo him away. "Sign here too, love" you pointed at the napkin, smiling wide. You loved to make fans happy, something Mapi loved about you. She grabbed the pen, signing the napkin as well with a little heart next to yours. Again, a silent statement. You knew it meant something but not what exactly. Her mind was working in a strange possessive clingy way when it came to you, the love of her life.
Jack thanked the both of you, walking back to his table as you turned around on the bar stool. You didn‘t say anything, just raised an brow. "Don‘t give me that look, mi vida. He- he was flirting and i-" she tried to defend herself, babbling about the man who actually turned out to be really nice, something she didn‘t expect.
"you got soo jealous because someone who isn‘t you was talking to me, hm?" you mocked her, giggling at the defeated look on her face.
Kissing away her pout, you mumbled a "te amo" against her lips, her heart skipping a beat like always. As she ordered the tables drinks, she had her arms around you, minding her own business - you - as the two of you waited. She pressed kisses all over your face, loving the laughter that came in respond.
"There you are!" Patri yelled as you finally arrived at the table with drinks.
María placed the tray of drinks on the table, not saying anything as she sat down on the chair, Alexia looked at you, why was she having a frown on her face. Rolling your eyes, you answered her question: Mapi was being Mapi.
As you were about to walk to your own seat the defender pulled at your hips - her lap was now your new seat. "Don’t say anything" she grumbled.
"Your drinks" the new waitress said as she stared at you with hungry eyes. Of course, Mapi noticed the behavior of the lady. Already with Marías hands around your body, the waitress didn‘t seem to mind that you were clearly in a relationship, your girl right next to you.
As her arms hugged your waist, her fingers lacing together, to hold you tight, your arm went around her shoulder. "She was totally eye-fucking you" she stated again, claiming that the bartender had the hots for you. You looked at her, absently, playing with a strand of loose hair, "baby, how many times do I have to tell you, I don‘t care"
"Well, I do!" drowning her drink, she carried on, "they all do, all the time! We can‘t go out without someone flirting or eye-fucking you"
"María, why do you care so much about it? I‘m yours" you whispered, forehead leaning against the defender. "I don‘t know, something it’s just- my mind doesn‘t like the thought of you with someone else"
"Do you want to go home?" you asked, the defender at the verge of tears, more than one drink in her body showing their work. She just mumbled a yes in your chest as she hugged you like a toddler "te amo mi vida, te amo mucho"
Saying bye to the girls, they understood the matter, well Alexia understood, the only one who had one drink the whole night. Besides she was Mapis best friend, she knew her well enough. With some complains of the girls, you left anyways. Marías arm around your mid section on the way home, every so often pressing kisses to your cheek, jaw and temple. She would have prefered if she could have carried you home but nonetheless happy that you were in her grasp and hers general.
At home, the girl didn‘t leave your side, "¿beso?" she asked as you took of your shoes. You did as she wished, pressing a peck to her lips, the defender smiling happily as she did a little jump.
In the kitchen, she hugged you from behind, kissing along your neck and bare shoulder, loving you the way you deserved.
"¿beso?"
"Sí, beso" puckering her lips, she waited for you to press yours on her own. When you did, her skin caught fire. She pushed you against the counter, kissing the life out of you. She loved to kiss you.
In the bathroom, as you were about to brush your teeth, she again asked the question that haunted you since the moment you left the bar, "¿beso?" Of course you kissed her, you loved it just as much as the defender to kiss one another. It made your heart race, skin tingle, soul happy and mind spin.
In bed, Mapi laying on top of you with her head hidden in your neck, she mumbled inaudible words.
"You want to have a kiss right?" you asked giggling.
"No" she answered to your surprise.
"No?"
"No. quiero un beso de buenas noches" she pressed featherlight kisses to your jaw, loving the way your breath hitched at her touch. It was your turn to say "no"
"No?"
"No"
Quickly the defender sat up, staddling your waist as she glared while frowning at you, "¿por que?"
"Said so" giving her the bitchy-shoulder-gesture, you tried to hold in your laugh as you could see the dots working in her brain. "No no no, you love me and I love you so bésame" she demanded, leaning down, prompting her weight on her arms as they rested dangerously close next to your head, "¡bésame!" she grumbled, an inch away. You could feel her breath against your lips, your own hitching at the slight hand movement along your exposed stomach. "Amor, bésame" she now whined, "pretty please" giving you puppy dog eyes, you had to give in, your hands cupped her cheeks, poking them, "so needy" you giggled.
Staring at one another with so much love in each others eyes, you both leaned in, lips touching ever so gentle. It was more than just a good night kiss, it was kiss so soft and loving that meant everything for the both of you.
I love you.
You‘re everything to me.
I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Every love confession in the world wouldn’t have been enough to describe what you felt in that moment.
Everything and more.
