so I was going through my book case today looking for a book to read. I used to be really into YA dystopian fiction. Well, guess what? I pulled out a minimum of three books that included a story about a virus or plague.

Unlike these stories, I have not yet fallen in love a mysterious boy in dystopian America. Bummer.

Want to know something interesting about Mozart?

He had a sister, Marianne ”Nannerl” who was just as talented as he was. They were incredibly close, he looked up to her and learned from her. They composed together, played together and even created their own world, The Kingdom of Back.

But history was not kind to Nannerl. Hell, the world was not kind to her because back then, being a woman made her invisible. And even though she possessed a talent worthy of performing for kings and queens, she was mostly erased from history. Marie Lu was the person who heard her name, became interested and rescued her.

The Kingdom of Back is a historical fantasy that tells the story of young Nannerl and Woferl, two brothers which talent created a world that was upside down and, who have to pass many tests before they reach their dreams, but not everything is what it looks like, not everyone is who they say they are.

A very important story told by a great writer. The Kingdom of Back reminded me of all the magical stories they told us before bed.

I actually finished reading The Young Elites a little over a week ago, but I wasn’t really sure how I felt about the finale. So, I waited a bit before I posted this because I want to say a lot, but didn’t really know where to start.

The Young Elites is about a group of teens who survived a blood fever that swept through the world and left them with super powers. The story is told from the POV of a girl named Adelina Amouteru who discovers she herself has the power of illusion after running away from her emotionally and physically abusive father. The trilogy follows Adelina as she grows into her powers and confidence, transforming from a neglected daughter into a fearsome conqueror, leaving chaos and panic in her wake.

“There was once a time when darkness shrouded the world and the darkness had a queen.”

-Marie Lu

Another one of my favorite reads by @marielubooks

I absolutely loved Adelina’s character, she was everything good and bad, and being in her head, her thoughts were surreal. I loved how unlike most books where the characters are so perfect you just can’t help but love them, the characters here were so imperfect and that made me love them the most. Reading this there were moments where I just wanted to crawl into a ball and cry my heart out for the characters (which I kind of did). I truly believe that there’s a difference between a happy end and a happily ever after. And I think this book had that happy end. Actually it had the best ending it could have and it reduced me to tears. Even though after closing the book I had to take a moment to gather myself I felt quite content.

❓Which was the last book you read that was a rollar coaster ride?

“There is something more powerful than any army. Something strong enough to topple kings, and even Darklings. Do you know what that thing is?”

I shook my head, inching away from him.

“Faith,” he breathed, his black eyes wild. “Faith.”

Isn’t it awesome how all of us adapt to a particular book’s slang while reading and unintentionally spew it at random strangers while we are in that book reading or relishing arc?

Like the other day when I was re-reading the Maze Runner series, I ended using Shuck instead of F#@k at a friend of mine who pissed me off.

And even seven years down the line after reading the PJO series I end up explicitly using ‘OH MY GODS’ instead of 'oh my god’ the way the mortals do.

Marie Lu would just sign her name on a contract and I’d read it like 1000000 times

Ok sorry I’m bored

3. Who does chores around the house?

Day mostly.

7. Do they have any traditions?

I think that on the anniversaries on a loved one/friend’s death they would leave an empty chair at their table. And on their wedding anniversaries they give each other handmade paper clip rings.

8. What do they fight about?

Stupid things about household chores and Day sneaking out to scale skyscrapers without telling June

15. Another headcanon for this pairing?

They adopt a golden retreiver and name it Patriot
