my favorite female charactergod there are so many good ones!!! definitely marilla, but i also adore josephine my CANON lesbian aunt

my favorite male charactermatthew he’s just, so sweet and nice and actually quite funny sometimes

my favorite book/season/etchmm i’m still finishing season 3 but i think season 2 was my favourite so far. it had so many nice moments (the party at aunt josephine’s was definitely a highlight) and i really liked the ending, and there were so many nice moments with marilla and anne

my favorite episode (if its a tv show)oh um there were so many good ones but maybe the season 2 final? it had some really good bits, like mary and bash getting married, and miss stacy staying, all the kids working together to help her, marilla and matthew both standing up for change then looking so shook that they did hsjkdfsf it just had some really nice feels

Island Radio | Chapter 1: An iPad to the Face

“Moody Spurgeon isn’t here - he does traffic. But that’s Charlie Sloane.” Diana pointed subtly to a brown-haired man with a crooked nose. “He does sports in the evenings at eight.” 

"Who's on the air right now?" asked Anne. 

"Billy Andrews. He covers celebrity news, scandals. Overlaps with me in entertainment a bit, but our crossover hour was more dull than a dead fish. I refuse to give him any material to work with. He's an animal."

Suddenly, the door to the conference room burst open with the dull clang of glass. 

“Sorry!” a tall man with dark, curly hair and hazel eyes breezed in with a genuinely apologetic smile. 

“Hi Gilbert!” Ruby waved him over to where she was sitting across the table from Anne and Diana. “I saved you a seat.”

“Thanks,” he grinned lopsidedly, but still managed to look handsome for it. 

“That’s Gilbert Blythe,” Diana whispered to Anne. “Morning and Drive-home news. He's always out collecting soundbites. You won't see him much.” 

Across the table, Gilbert looked directly at Anne and said, "Hey, Carrots, don't think I've ever seen you around here before."

"It's nice to see your head at a normal size for once," Anne bit back. She'd had enough comments on her looks for one day. "Your billboard isn't doing you any favours, you know."

Gilbert raised an eyebrow at her, "I haven't seen your pretty face on any billboards lately, Ms….?"

"Shirley. Anne Shirley. Anne with an E." She swiped her sweaty palms over her plain cream slacks.

"Nice to meet you, Anne with an E," he smirked.

hello my dear, i'm not really sure what i should have thoughts on? personally i dont think i'd be super interested in it, but to each their own ✌️

honestly muriel/marilla has been very important for me for many reasons, but i'm happy other people are writing for non-teenage characters in that fandom at all, particularly as the fandom might be dying down a little. i can't promise anything but i have been thinking of going back to writing m/m at some point, so i'd love it if there was interest. in the mean time, i hope you enjoyed this other fic. nothing stopping us from enjoying two things at the same time!

I don’t know I just love this onslought (3 messsges) of love for Muriel/Marilla! Ahhh we are *living* right now.

Okay so HC for sex and go...

Muriel is a teacher so we know she goes hard for facts. But when students ask her sex questions she looks uncomfortable af and can’t seem to really string the words she needs to say together and it’s adorable. So my HC is that Muriel once read a novel, given to her by a french novelist she met while traveling. The woman was vivacious and brazen, inclined to wear men’s clothes and smoke in public and when she handed her novel to Muriel, inscribed in the cover ‘Expand the mind and reap the rewards’ with a wink, Muriel was compelled to read the whole thing in one sitting. The particular point of interest was the graphic detail in a later chapter in which two women share their physical love for one another. It stuck with her for years later and turned out to be her only reference when she finally had Marilla Cuthbert in her bed.

Later when Marilla and Muriel visit Josephine, and she realizes the two are lovers, she becomes the queen of oversharing over late night drinks in her parlor, recounting many of hers and Gertie’s escapades. Marilla always looks like she’s going to faint from sheer embarrassment, and Muriel brushes her fingertips along her side, just delicately to calm her. Either way, they learn a thing or two in the process and it’s actually Marilla who presses Muriel against the shelves in the pantry, in re-creation of one of those tales.

Neither woman feels totally comfortable being nude. Call it the way they were raised, or the period, but they feel most intimate and confident in their underclothes. Marilla stops wearing a corset at Muriel’s suggestion of how uncomfortable they can be and Muriel most often wears a chemise and bloomers that Marilla made for her in ivory lace.

Marilla likes to watch Muriel sleep, and is usually the first to rise in the mornings. But when Muriel stirs and wakes, she drags Marilla back into bed with her, burying her nose in Marilla’s neck and inhaling the rose water and lavender from her bathing oil that always lingers on her skin.

Rachel almost caught them in the barn one afternoon. For weeks after she had to listen to Rachel recount how she heard Marilla gasping for breath and helping her down from a near panic attack when she finally found her in the barn breathless, never knowing that Muriel was hiding in the hay loft, still flushed and kiss-bruised.
