The sunlight fluttering through the skylight made Marinette's face scrunch up in confusion and discomfort. Rolling over she was enveloped by the soft plush of her stuffed animals and pillows, which was enough to get her to peel her eyes open.

She's not sure when she woke up or how long she spent silently walking around her room but, she had forgotten so much of her life before the hospital... it was almost terrifying how much she didn't know about herself. How she used to love to sew and how she used to want to be a fashion designer and how she loved that one blonde boy...

what was his name...

Oh well, it doesn't really matter does it?

He's probably forgotten about me anyways.

She thought as she picked up a notebook and started to flit through it, looking at all her old designs. As she looked she felt like she was invading someone's privacy, as if these sketches weren't hers. As if the draws she had gone through weren't hers, as if the room she was standing in wasn't hers, as if the clothes she was staring at weren't hers... It all felt so foreign

"Marinette?"

The voice brought her back, dull and void eyes watched the swollen trap door of her room open. The soft click of the lock was enough to ground Mari enough for her to fully ground herself. The subtle scent of berries and honey filled the room as Sabine stepped over the hundreds of objects that littered the floor, that seemed to weave in a spiral, where her daughter sat. Her legs crossed, hair in a horribly done bun, and a sketchpad in hand but... still in those hospital clothes...

"Baby..? I brought you some breakfast..."

Sabine's voice was gentle as she gently knelt down. Her knees meeting whatever hardwood floor they could find, cracking and popping as she did.

"What's all... this?'

Sabine asked gently, looking at the spiral of items that surrounded her daughter.

"I... I'm trying to figure out who I am."

MARICHAT FOR THE WIN!

LUKANETTE FOR THE WIN TOO!

Maybe the very few people who may have ever come across my stories on FanFiction.Net ("Of Compasses and Statues" and "A Smitten Kitten & A Lovestruck Princess" under the name "ScarletRedfox" there) know that I'm a pawsionate Marichat shipper and a newly passionate Lukanette shipper too. :3

This isn't a question of "what ship is better" as a lot of Miraculours discuss in shipping wars. Seriously, I want to give both ships equal attention and a fair chance to bloom.

Why?

Because they the "SinShip" and the "ShipWrecker" (Lukanette) are the most pure and truthful of them all.

You can argue that Marinette and Adrien made progress, they did and I'm very happy that Thomas Astruc and his team made it happen (thank you monsieur!) but I always have this vibe around these two ships, their chemistry with each-other.

Marichat has amazing potential, it has flaws, just like it should have, but it has the potential to become something (wipes tear) amewzing. Maybe in the long run, Adrien will still try to purrsue Ladybug but he will notice Marinette more too, as Chat Noir, since Chat Noir apparently doesn't make Marinette as nervous as Adrien. Marinette also trusts Chat as her partner and equal, she knows him as her fellow superhero and crime fighting partner and with increased interactions, maybe something more, maybe as the boy behind the mask that he is.

Lukanette is another matter entirely due to the circumstances of their meeting and the reason why Luka was introduced as a character. Even before his actual appearance, he was hated by the fandom. I was pretty interested to see what he would look like and how he would act, considering he was supposed to not only be a "love rival" to Adrien but also an individual "well-rounded" character. Sweet mother of catnip that boy is really sweet! I love the refreshing attitude he shows towards Marinette: appreciative , gentle , considerate and thoughtful towards her feelings. Of course, he didn't grow up as isolated as Adrien, so he's more experienced in things Adrien isn't (like social interactions for one), but there's the fact that he met Marinette the first time ever in "Captain Hardrock" and immediately picked up on her shift in mood when he made (good) fun of her, he apologized whereas some people would be inconsiderate or simply wouldn't pick up on it.

It also adds to the fact that Luka is a musician, incredibly skilled with the guitar, he speaks through his guitar/music and can pick up on other's emotions well and act accordingly to make or break a situation.

HE'S LIKE ALOE VERA TO MARINETTE'S SOUL!

Marinette also reacts positively to his presence, she doesn't have the same level of trust and partnership she shares with Chat Noir, but his presence calms her and his words encourage her to "come out of her shell". We all know Lukanette won't be endgame, but it's a really nice thought of them together to lift each-other up and help each-other grow. :3

All in all, introducing new characters to the show makes it interesting and engaging and I hope both ships (and the rest of the Love Square too ;) make their own progress.
