Fics in the works
 Updated 04/2023
Hey I know its been a while since I’ve properly published new fics. Honestly  keep coming up with ideas but actually finishing them is the kicker.
Ngl I honestly feel like I need some betas for the works I’ve got going on and if any of these interest you then by all means feel free to message me! And yes some of these are still Maribat
The Winner Takes The Crown (Princess)
Got into DPxDC and decided to take a crack at it. As usual this thing was supposed to be a one-shot but is 18.9k words so far and counting so three-shot is more likely.

Why not have them duke it out amongst each other for once. It'd be entertaining at the very least or a disaster waiting to happen at most--- at least that's what his newly appointed Fright Knight thought anyway
Chapters out so far: 1/3 AO3  Part 1
Who The Wayne Are You?!
Why not do a fusion of two crossover fandoms??? (Not sure if I’ll include any romantic ships)

Summary: Its just her luck that on her first day in Gotham City, the literally cursed crime capital of the world that she gets kidnapped. To make matters worst her kidnappers must be blind because they think she’s Cass Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s only daughter, who doesn’t even have blue eyes! Fortunately or unfortunately she’s not the only one in this dilemma--- He was sure that the spirit of Gotham had it out for him; the moment his sister left to go on the tour to Gotham U he gets pushed into a white van (cliché much?). On the bright side it wasn’t the Guys In White, down side the idiots can’t seem to agree if he’s Tim Drake, co-CEO of Wayne Enterprises, or Jason Todd, supposedly dead son of Bruce Wayne (he’s not sure if that’s quite true). Well at least he’s got company. “Ugh just my luck that I get kidnapped literally on my first day in Gotham” “Oh samesie”

A woman named Sabine Cheng who lived in Paris alongside her husband and daughters. Turns out Tim was a twin; his parents only wanted the son.
As much as he wants to hate this new family he can’t help but crave the affection they provide, the warmth and comfort , that his parents never could. As much as Tim would miss being Robin he had Mari and that was enough. Who knows maybe he’d go back to the Life later on in life?

She couldn’t really explain it but it seemed strange that the students were adorned with symbols; Red Hearts, Yellow Diamonds, Green Clovers and Blue Spades. What did this all mean and why were those without them ostracized? Was this also why Marinette seemed to have a whole wardrobe change and was now friends with mean girl Chloe?
Well it was up to Jess and reluctantly Damian to find out what was the root of the problem alongside sunshine duo Jon and Aeon, also known as the Seasonal Court while also trying to figure out how to offer their help with the Hawkmoth situation.

That’s when she noticed the glowing red band around both their arms. It turns out her fellow heroes were teleported to the same location, each bonding with different teen heroes; Ladybug and Viperion with a red caped black haired hero she didn’t know. Marinette was not Thomas Dupain’s biological daughter, not only that but her parent’s had enough of her ‘problematic’ behavior and were sending her away to live with her actual father, a man who, after looking him up online, turned out to be billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne of Wayne Enterprise. Now she must leave her friends behind and move in with complete strangers while juggling her Guardian duties and hero life. Well one thing was for sure; she was done being a pushover. Done being a perfect example and ready to start anew. Gone was Marinette Dupain-Cheng, here comes Marinette Wayne!

Summary; (Continuation of Staying Whelmed & Erable AU) Its been two years since the cease of the Parisian heroes. Everyone still  mourns their loss but its time to move on. At least that’s what Dick keeps telling himself, he’s put off being on the team long enough and missed enough family dinners. Honestly he can’t even remember the last time he properly talked to some of his friends, the kwami doing a well enough job of keeping him from completely going off the deep end. With the help of the recently rescued princess Kor’iander of Tamarand he think he’s getting there. Tim on the other hand notices the imbalance of the world; the way certain creatures’ populations have significantly dwindled down, the way the magic users have been losing power, the increase of natural disasters and sudden reappearance of what they believed to be Trixx’s original temple... He can’t help but hope. Hope to regain his brother and fellow heroes, to bring back hope and restore the world’s balance.  After encounters with others in the community he realizes that he’s not the only one that noticed. Now all he needs to do is convince the others that he’s not in denial and isn’t embarking some fruitless endeavor. Well no one said it’d be easy to enter the In-Between

I love you (not) - Chapter 3
@marichatmay's prompt for today was "dirt", which legally requires Chat to eat dirt, right? Anyway, that happens. His brain is a little distracted, you see. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 3: In which the universe might not be working against Chat breaking up with Marinette, but the author sure is
This has gone too far , Chat thought as he marched determinedly towards Marinette’s skylight. However fun lunch at her parents, and then their little movie hangout had been, he couldn’t let this… “relationship” go any further. His speech had been stalled enough, by a whole week and a half, and not entirely because of him; sure, he’d procrastinated it a little, but Nathalie and her zeal for filling his schedule were the main culprits, as well as a couple of ill-timed Akumas and last-minute Kitty section band practises. It was like the universe didn’t want their budding romance to end.
He pushed the thought aside. There was no romance between him and Marinette, or at least, not on his side. Which is why he needed to talk to her: he needed to prevent her from getting too invested in their relationship. She’d only end up getting hurt, and he would never forgive himself for it.
But what if she gets upset now ? A little voice piped up in his head. He came to a halt, and traced back his steps. Then you’ll be there to protect her from the butterflies , the reasonable part of his brain chimed in . He turned around and started walking again.
But what if that doesn’t work? Will you be able to fight with the knowledge that it was all your fault? The first voice nagged again. Yes, since I’ll be able to fix it. Ladybug and I will do what we usually do and save her.
He paced the balcony as the figurative angel and demon bickered on his shoulder, both making fairly good points as to why he should or should not break up with her.
It’s not a real relationship, just ghost her, she knows you have other stuff to do.
That wouldn’t be right and you know it.
What if this is a bad time, though?
But what if this is a good time?
His dilemma was so loud that he didn’t think about what it might have sounded like for Marinette, if she was in her room. His indecision was getting so infuriating that he stopped looking where he walked. Why was this so difficult?
What if you stopped being stupid and realised that you actually like her? The thought blindsided him, and not just because he could have sworn that it had been formulated in Plagg's voice. It caused him to miscalculate his next step, and before he knew it he was tripping on a potted plant.
Both him and it came crashing down with a loud thunk and a yelp, and he realised with horror, as he scrambled to his feet, that the plant it had contained not only had its roots out, but that it had landed right under him, and didn’t look too healthy.
“Crap…” He shot up and tried to repair his mistake, but soon realised the pot had broken in its fall.
He looked around him to see if there was a spare pot lying around, but failing to spot one, changed his strategy. He started pushing the earth into a neat pile to cover the roots and also to make sure the balcony didn’t look too messy. He wondered if there was a flower shop, or any shop where he could buy a replacement container nearby, and if maybe he could just pop out before anybody noticed, what on earth could he even do with all this-
“Chat Noir? What are you doing here?” Marinette had cautiously peeked out of her skylight when she’d heard the commotion, anticipating an Akuma and trying to figure out what to do if there was indeed one, and had pushed it all the way open when she’d realised who it was who’d been lurking on her roof.
Chat Noir panicked as he heard her voice, and did the only logical thing that came to his mind to get rid of the mess: he took the handful of earth he was holding, and shoved it in his mouth.
“No, Chat!!” Marinette voiced the thought that his brain deigned to formulate just as he tasted the dirt. His eyes widened and he spat it out, barely registering Marinette hopping out of her room and coming to pat him on the back to help him. “What on Earth were you thinking?”
“I don’t know,” he wheezed.
“Hang on, I’ll get you some water.” She disappeared through the trapdoor and was back before he could put his escape plan to action. It was just too embarrassing to stay.
He gargled the contents of the glass and spat it out, wincing at the... green taste that remained. There was no better adjective for it. He supposed it was well deserved.
“I’m so sorry,” he said, looking at his feet sheepishly.
“For what?” Marinette asked, before her eyes landed on the plant. The lack of pot and her frantic attempts to help him had destabilised it, and it lied horizontally again. The colour drained from her cheeks. “Oh. Uncle Wang’s Magnolia.”
Chat winced at her worried expression. “Can I do anything to help?”
“I think I might have a pot downstairs that I can replace it with. I just need to be discreet, if Maman finds out that it survived its journey from Shanghai, but that it couldn’t survive a day on my balcony…” Marinette nervously chewed on her bottom lip.
“She’d be rightfully annoyed.” Chat nodded. He felt his guilt pink his cheeks.
“Okay, here’s what we’re going to do…”
Chat Noir wasn’t sure involving him in a plan was a great idea after the mess he’d made, but he followed Marinette’s instructions nonetheless, anxious to repair his mistake.
“There.” Marinette rubbed the dirt off of her hands when they were done with a satisfied smile. There was still tension in her shoulders, though. “I think I might have to hide it a little for the next week or so, just so she doesn’t notice the wilted leaves, but it should be okay.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, don’t worry.” She relaxed a little as she saw his pleading eyes. “Anyway, you literally preferred to eat dirt rather than answer my questions, what brings you here?”
“Oh, erm, I needed to talk to you about, well, erm… us.” Chat twiddled his thumbs awkwardly.
Marinette froze. She’d looked out for Chat Noir during the days after their “date”, and had been relieved not to see him around. She’d prodded the topic slightly as Ladybug, and given his lack of response, she’d concluded that Chat had given up on their relationship, and had filed the whole ordeal in a “we’ll laugh about it someday” part of her brain. She’d thought that the next time she’d see him as a civilian, they’d be back to normal. She realised that she might have been a little too prompt in moving on.
Chat noticed his friend tense up again, and decided he couldn’t go through with his plan. Hey, I came to tell you that I don’t love you and that I’m breaking up with you - and by the way, I almost killed a plant that came from half a world away. Bye! Really didn’t sound so great.
“Us?” Marinette prompted.
“Yeah, us.” Chat shook away his thoughts. “I, er… Realised that I haven’t been in touch much recently, and I wanted to apologise.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve been really busy too, so, I understand.” Marinette smiled sweetly. It did sound like her kitty to not ghost a girl, and maybe this was the moment he would give her a little speech about how packed his superhero life was, and that he preferred not to keep her waiting and-
“Maybe we could get coffee sometime soon?” Chat blurted.
“Coffee?” She tilted her head, her smile tensing a little. What are you up to? The exit was right there!
“If you like coffee? Tea’s perfectly fine, too, or hot chocolate. Or a coke, or anything. My treat.” He patted her shoulder. Why do I sound so awkward? he cringed inside.
“I guess that would be nice.” Marinette blinked a couple of times. “Shall we set a date now, or…”
“Yes! A date! That’s it! The day after tomorrow? 5pm?” I need to calm down, Chat smiled tightly.
“That works for me.” Marinette eyed her partner cautiously. He seemed overly excited. Had there been something in the earth? Should she call some kind of medical service? “Did you have a place in mind?...”
Chat Noir paused. He didn’t go out enough to be able to recommend a café off the top of his head.
Marinette saw his hesitation, decided he was probably more flustered than poisoned, and decided she should probably help him out with his invitation. “I heard le café des chats was quite cute, it’s not too far away… If you’re not allergic to cats.” She added with a twinkle in her eye.
“That sounds purr-fect!” Chat grinned. “Right, so now that we’ve got that settled, I guess I should go.”
“I guess so.” Marinette smiled. “See you soon, then?”
“Yep, later, Princess! And sorry again about the Magnolia.”
She waved his concern away and then leaned on her balcony railing to watch him vault away. Her smile fell when he’d disappeared from her sight, and she realised what she’d just agreed to.
A real date. In a café. With Chat Noir.
This is going too far, she thought as she hid her face in her hands.

I’ve definitely seen them around, though there’s only one I can find reflexively because I keep going back to it.
It’s “Marinette’s Ghost Dilemma” by @therealscribblingmama. The author has no plans on completing it (so just a warning that it’s incomplete) buuuuut it also goes all the way up to the kiss, which is more than enough for me personally~ <3
I adooooore it~

life makes love look hard
Written for the @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers sprint fic challenge.
Prompt: Wildcard from @mlweeklyprompts; “Topic: There’s nothing more frightening than having a dream come true”
Rating: T
Pairings: Lukanette, background DJWifi
Word Count: 1674
Summary: Avatar: the Last Airbender AU. Marinette struggles to come to terms with what she’s done, and makes a decision.
Read on AO3
Marinettte has everything she’s ever wanted. So why does she still feel so...dissatisfied? Choosing Kagami was a difficult choice to make. She’s a fugitive as Ladybug, an exile as Marinette — hurt and scarred and sacred, a firebender with not much left to lose.
Kagami has Luka and Juleka, at least, and it’s been far too long since she last saw Luka. Far too long, in fact. Neither of them are benders. But they’ve chosen to work with Kagami, and they’re good for it.
And she’s chosen them over Adrien and Nino and Alya. She wonders if she’s made the right choice, with her being torn apart, with the choice in the city that allowed them to conquer it once and for all.
But that doesn’t matter. That doesn’t matter. She’s Crown Princess of the Fire Nation, the Avatar is dead, and it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter anymore. They’re going to win the war.
(But is that what she wants?)
It doesn’t get any easier.
Luka is there, though. And then they go on vacation for a bit, back to Ember Island where their ghosts run rampant.
“Do you ever feel like despite the fact that you’ve gotten everything you’ve ever wanted, you still aren’t happy?” Marinette asks.
“What are you thinking?” Luka asks.
“I don’t know. Something isn’t right, and I don’t know what it is, but I think something’s wrong with me.” I should want this, she thinks, I should be okay after she hurt me. But even though I’ve been...accepted, I still don’t feel like it.
“I love you for every part of you, Marinette,” Luka answers. “No matter what you decide. No matter your choices on this matter. I’ll do my best to stand with you, however that ends.”
However that ends. She supposes it’s a good thing, however that ends. She doesn’t know what to think anymore.
And they try their best. They share too much, talk too much, and it doesn’t…
It’s okay. She still feels that turmoil bubbling within, still feels that dilemma waiting to come back around again.
And then the eclipse arrives. And among the preparations, knowing that whoever’s left of the Avatar’s team will arrive will come, Marinette knows where her mother will be. She has to confront her. She has to make her choice.
And this time, she knows that the choice she’s making here is right. Because she isn’t happy. She isn’t.
And maybe this will just bring her more strife. Or maybe it will bring her the happiness that she wants. The fulfillment of her destiny.
There’s only one reason to stay, and she writes that reason a letter and calls it a day. She hopes that Luka will forgive her, in the end. She hopes that he will find it in his heart to stand by her like he proclaimed he would. And she hopes that in the end they can reunite, with the hope that Luka will make the right choice too.
***
She messes up. She messes up big-time, but she knew they wouldn’t trust her immediately. This is just proof of such. Marinette is...far more prone to failure, unlike Kagami who tries (and succeeds) to be the epitome of perfection, and Luka who is perfect for her.
Marinette has never been perfect enough for anyone. She’s just herself, flaws and all.
And she continues to make mistakes, burning Alix’s way of sight in her blindness. But they forgive her. They accept her, because Adrien needs her. Adrien needs her because she’s a firebender, and she needs to let go.
And then, because she has let go, she can’t firebend. She can’t do the thing she offered, the thing she needs to do for them to accept her. If she can’t do that, then why should they accept her?
Going with Adrien to the Temple of the Sun Warriors is enlightening. To know that a pair of dragons lives on, to know that there are still people who know what firebending really is. It’s amazing, and their rainbow fire bathes her and Adrien in a light that she will remember forever.
And it’s life. It doesn’t destroy, it lives and breathes within them. Fire has a life of its own, and they are in control of that life. They keep it alive, or choose to snuff it out. That’s what it means.
And with that down…
Nino approaches her one night. “I know none of the rest want to, but where are important Fire Nation prisoners held?”
“...Why do you want to know?”
“My father. Leader of the Southern Water Tribe. He would be likely somewhere important.”
“The highest security prison in the Fire Nation is the Boiling Rock.” Marinette stares at him. “No one gets out if they don’t want anyone to get out.”
“We have balloons. We have methods of getting in that are stealthy. And I have a plan.”
“It’s surrounded by boiling water, Nino. It’s hard to get in and out of. It’s dangerous.”
“Oh, come on! You don’t want to know what goes on in the most maximum security prison?”
“No! Not if it will get me killed before I tutor Adrien on firebending.”
“We aren’t going to die. Trust me, Marinette.”
“Okay. I will.”
***
The prison break does not go exactly as planned. They pretend to be guards and they get out and they almost succeed, except she forgot that either Luka or Juleka’s biological father is a prison warden (the other is a dead musician). And so now Kagami and Juleka and Luka are here…
And Luka, in the last moment, turns on Kagami to let them escape. “Why?” Kagami asks — keeping the anger tamped down, more cold than angry.
“Because I love Marinette more than I fear you.”
And they have Nino’s father, and Alya, and both of them are alive. And that one firebender they agreed to break out along the way — Caline?
Either way, they’re out, and safe, and they can head back to the rest of their group.
Thanks to Luka. And she knows, she regrets...but she knows that this is right. That she is on the correct side of history. Adrien will defeat Fire Lord Tomoe, and everything might be okay someday.
The comet is imminent, and there’s only a matter of time.
For now, though, she hopes that Luka will be safe after betraying Kagami for her. Kagami will not take the betrayal lightly, and while she knows that Kagami has been manipulated by their mother, Marinette also knows that they’ll need to face her. And Marinette won’t be able to take her alone.
***
“Are you kidding?” Marinette asks, looking at the group. “You want to wait until after?”
“Tomoe and Kagami will be at their full power on the day of the Comet. We can't very well just…”
“We need to! They’ll take out all of the Earthbenders. THey already are. And what little we have left, what few allies that we have will be taken from us.”
“I understand your perspective,” Rose says, “but we just aren’t ready yet. Aang hasn’t mastered any of the elements, let alone three!”
“We have to do it.” Marinette will push for this.
“I agree,” Nino says, shocking her. “I think we should try, at least. This is all we have, it’s our last chance. We have to do this. I know it’s a lot of pressure on you, Adrien, but we can do this.”
“Okay,” Adrien says, shaky. “What’s the plan?”
***
The day has finally come. They’re at the Fire Nation capital.
“Okay, rundown of the plan — Rose and Marinette will face Kagami. Adrien will be facing Tomoe. Alya, Alix, and I will be working on taking down everyone that we can.”
The sky bleeds orange. The sneaking is easy, with everyone focusing on Kagami’s coronation.
Everyone flees when Marinette interrupts. “I’m sorry, Kagami, but you will not be Fire Lord today.”
“Then who will?” she snarls. Kagami looks...different. Angrier.
“I will.”
“You’re going to have to take it from me. You and me, my sister — the showdown that was always meant to happen. An Agni Kai.”
Marinette looks over at Rose. “I can do this.”
“You said you would need both of us earlier!”
“It’s fine,” Marinette answers. “Something’s...off. I think I can take her.” Kagami laughs.
And then the fire begins. Her orange contrasts with Kagami’s blue, both powered by the Comet. Bending feels...magnificent, here, bathing in the light of the comet. The orange-grey of the sky looks horrible, but she feels so much more powerful. And she focuses on Kagami, who keeps going more and more, burning herself out.
“No lightning today?” she asks Kagami. “Are you afraid?”
The electricity crackles at her fingertips...and Kagami directs the bolt at Rose.
“No!” Marinette says, jumping in front in time to redirect it.
The lightning goes through her, but she does manage to get some of it away. Neither of them are going to die.
“Thank you, Marinette,” Rose whispers, and then Kagami starts to go after her.
She doesn’t know the outcome of most of the rest until Rose heals her. But Kagami is defeated, and Adrien defeats Tomoe shortly after. Tomoe had her bending taken away, and Kagami…
Kagami has been thoroughly shattered after everything. Marinette will do her best to get the care that Kagami needs for her mental health, and perhaps someday they’ll be able to come together and forgive each other.
She introduces Rose and Juleka to each other. They hit it off fairly well.
Her coronation takes place a few days after everything is over. People there are all solemn, but supportive.
And...Luka.
“I’m so happy you’re alive,” she tells him.
“Me too. I heard that you got struck by lightning.”
“I have the scar. But I’m okay now. We’re okay now, right?”
“I was a little hurt when you left me behind, but...I think we’ll be okay.”
And they share a kiss. To Marinette, it feels like coming home.

Note
I watched Loveeater and it basically broke me. I really need more Kiss AU, so... 1) What happens during Chameleon? 2) What about Chloe, she still hate Marinette with a passion or Adrien managed to make them comfortable around each other?
Here my poor child, I hope this picks up the fragments of your broken heart ;;;; If you don’t mind, I’ll just answer about Chameleon cos I have a big idea for this.
Chameleon - (remember, Adrien and Marinette aren’t aware of how evil or manipulative Lila is here. They thought she was okay after the akuma incident and forgot about her during her absence, supposedly doing small charity work in Achu. They’re not too fond of her and Alya is sus about Lila.) Also, this is still pre-relationship (or so they convince themselves oof lol)
This episode starts off with Lila already in the class, bright and early. However, she’s in Nino’s seat...
She convinced Mdll. Bustier that she had tinnitus and needed to sit at the front so that she can listen to what she’s saying. Caline doesn’t bat an eye at this, simply accepts it as she’s loaded with so much work.
The rest of the class walk in, sending a curious eye to Lila but shrugs it off. When Adrien, Mari, Alya and Nino walk in, Alya is the one to question the seating. She raises a brow at Lila’s tinnitus reasoning. She finds it shady. Nino just tells her that she’ll sit with him.
This puts Mari and Adrien in a dilemma. They’d have sat at the back but Lila points out that she doesn’t want to be alone, rubbing her arms and looking to the ground. Caline requests that one of them sits by Lila which takes the class aback- it’s impossible to separate Adrien and Marinette.
“You’re making me split up with my life partner?” Adrien gave kicked puppy look, clutching onto the hem of Marinette’s jacket.
“Adrien,” Caline sighs out tiredly. She doesn’t have enough caffeine in her system to handle Adrien’s usual shenanigans. “It’s only temporarily. Lila is a new girl and she’ll need all the help she can get. Marinette isn’t going to flee to New York with Lila in her arms.”
The cat hero then turned to Marinette, eyebrows pleading for her to say something on his defense.
“Come on, it’s just for a day. I’ve been slacking in my class president duties as well so...please?” The model was always a sucker for her sparkling bluebell eyes before rolling his eyes in annoyance and nodding. Marinette gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, ushering him to the seat next to Nathaniel before plopping down next to Lila.
Lila and Marinette hit off really well here- or so Marinette thought. Mari felt slightly off around Lila, especially when talking about the work she did in Achu and completely flattering Marinette when she found out about the work she did for Jagged Stone.
Adrien didn’t like how Lila would cling to Marinette’s arm like a clam, fingers sometimes trailing up Mari’s arm. Marinette felt uncomfortable but didn’t want to be rude. She and Alya had no boundaries when it comes to touching, overly affectionate like sisters- so why did Lila’s touch feel like poison? Why does her fingers often brush against her midriff or upper thighs...?
Whenever Adrien tried to get to Marinette, Lila would lead the designer away or elsewhere, especially in a big crowd where a fuss can easily be made. Alya pointed out that if Adrien took Mari away from there, he’d be labelled as dangerously clingy and undesirable rumours could start.
He tried to calm himself down but as soon as he saw Lila lean close into Marinette’s face (which was paling like a ghost as she was trying to back away), he snapped.
“Excuse me, I need to borrow her for a second.”
Marinette felt an iron grip on her wrist and she was immediately tugged out of Lila’s grasps, led away from the playground and into the lone lockers room. She didn’t even need to look up to know that it’s Adrien; his touch committed to memory.
When she finally regained her bearings, she noticed how her Chaton was seething on the spot, glaring out of the door. Probably to see if Lila followed. Luck was on his side for once as other students went up to her, curious about the new girl. Plagg and Tikki flew out of their respective hiding places, nuzzling Marinette on each cheek before leaving to give them so privacy. Adrien then faced Marinette, hands on shoulders.
“Hey, breathe. You’re shaking like a leaf.” The familiarity of his sweet emerald eyes brought Marinette back to the real world, glancing at her hands that were indeed shaking. She took a few deep breaths, falling into Adrien’s embrace. It took her a few minutes to completely calm down, with the safety of his kisses on her hair and his warm arms around her body, rocking them both slowly back and forth.
“I...I’m freaking Ladybug...I shouldn’t be scared of a girl advancing on me...” She mumbled out. Adrien felt himself stiffen and his hold on her tightened. “We’re girls- it’s normal for girls to touch each other in places...right?”
Adrien pulled away just a bit so that he could face her. Raw anger simmered in his veins as his Lady’s lips trembled.
“No, it’s not normal for strangers to place their hands all over you. It doesn’t matter what sex you are, no one has the rights to touch you in a way that makes you so scared.” His voice took on a grave, threatening tone. Similar to the one he used when Theo was staring at Ladybug like a predator.
“I know that...I know...so why do I keep justifying her actions? She said ‘We could be great friends’ and leaned in...I never wanted to run away so badly...” Marinette’s sentence ended in a whisper, making Adrien push her face into his chest again.
“I’m going to kill her-”
“Don’t! Adrien no! That’s wrong-”
“I don’t care!” His fingers sunk into her shoulders, a scowl plastered on his face and his eyes gleamed toxically. “No one gets away with doing THAT to you. Nobody!”
“You’re better than this Adrien, come on. I’m okay now. I was just startled-”
“Stop. Stop that. Stop downplaying your feelings! You’re the one who taught me to stand up for myself, to not let people use me as a doormat, to tell my own father how I really feel about the extra-curriculars. So take your advice and tell her off at the very least, please! Or tell Mlle. Bustier. Anything.” His eyebrows furrowed desperately as Adrien leaned his forehead against hers. His hands trailed to her cheeks, cupping them with such tenderness and love.
“It’s easier to give advice than to take them it seems,” Marinette giggled, loving how Adrien let his lips straighten into a ‘Really?’ look. The designer then frowned, looking away. “I can’t really file a complaint without proof. If it was a guy doing it, the school would have taken it seriously. But since Lila is a girl and I’m a girl...”
“Fucking double standards...” The blonde spat out with indignation. “You could fix that ya know, you’re class rep,”
“Yes but also, what if Lila claims it’s an Italian thing and then bursts into tears for making this situation bigger than it is? I’ll feel so bad...”
“You’re the victim here Marinette. Alya and I saw the way she touched you- it was inappropriate and disgusting. I’ll report to Mlle. myself if you’re not going to do it,” The girl in his arms looked up like a deer in headlights, shaking her head with a small ‘No!’. “Or you could come with me? Alya is a witness- three against one. Surely action will be taken then?”
Marinette’s frown only deepened.
“Come one, maybe this could give Lila a wake up call? Improve on her behaviour? We could befriend her properly if she fixes up.” This got the girl to look up, a hopeful smile on her lips. “There’s my girl,” Adrien chuckled, kissing her forehead.
Next, the trio plus Nino files their complaints to their teacher about what happened. Marinette wanted it to be kept at the down low since she didn’t want to tarnish Lila’s reputation. She genuinely believed that there is probably some good in Lila.
Caline rounds just Lila and Marinette up to discuss about the incident. As Marinette predicted, Lila burst into tears “apologetically”, running into the girls’ bathroom. The heroine didn’t think twice to run after her, ignoring her teacher’s exclaims and her trio of friends who were waiting outside the room. They’re called in by Caline (much to their protests) so that she can explain that perhaps Lila hasn’t been educated on social boundaries and what lines cannot be crossed.
Meanwhile, when Marinette finds Lila “sobbing” in the toilets, she tried to calm her down.
This takes a 180 turn. Lila shouts how she doesn’t want Marinette coming near her. How she feels so humiliated, gross and offended that Mari dared to think that her affections were a form of harassment. She goes on a rant with how she will never have any friends now, how she’ll get looked down upon and how it’s like her old school all over again with everyone bullying her.
“I can’t believe you ruined my life like that Marinette...I thought you were a good person!”
Lila storms out as a shocked and distraught looking Marinette froze in the same spot she was in. The crocodile tears were wiped away and a smug, sinister grin crept on Lila’s face.
The butterfly does manage to clasp onto Marinette, however, thanks to Tikki’s pleadings and her strong will, the girl fights off the akumatisation. She collapses on the floor in exhaustion, completely forgetting about the butterfly. She thanks Tikki for her support, finally seeing how toxic Lila was, how this was none of Marinette’s fault.
She then realises about the butterfly and darts out, looking for it.
The trio of friends are escorted back into the class but Adrien quips that he needs the bathroom. Caline saw past his lie but let him go anyways. It was a pure miracle that she kept Adrien and Marinette apart for so long anyways.
Agreste comes across Rossi midrun. They both have a stare off, one hoping that the other didn’t see her smirk whilst the other spotted it a million miles away. Adrien’s face twisted into a dangerous glare.
“A-Adrien? Why are you looking at me like that? I thought Mlle. Bustier fixed the matter-”
“I’ve been surrounded by lying, fake, atrocious people all my life. I know you’re one of them too.” The boy growled out. One side of him wanted to claw the girl’s face off whilst the other needed to check on his princess.
“...you’re not as angelic as everyone else described you know.” The sarcastic, dry tone was such a huge contrast against the fake shy, sweet voice she tried serenading the class with. He very much preferred the real deal.
“Not when it comes to anyone hurting my partner.” He snarled. His nails dug into his palms. It took everything for him to restrain himself. Lila simply scoffed, crossing her arms.
“I’d watch what I say if I were you Agreste. You sound so possessive...so angry...those types of boys are usually kept away from sweet princesses like Marinette. One scream from me, one shout, and everyone will come aiding me no matter how well they love you.” Boldly, she flicked his cheek with a sickly sweet smile, relishing the way he bristled up and the colourful swears he let out. She stalked off triumphantly as Adrien ran off in search of Marinette.
She caught a flutter of dark wings nearby- her smirk widened to the point that would rival one of Chat Noir’s insane grins.
Adrien and Marinette finally catch each other, the former fussing over her, asking if she’s okay. The sudden shout of an akuma in the school snapped them out of their conversation, both failing to bring up what happened to them. Marinette doesn’t waste time, dragging them both in the closest cleaner’s closet and pulling Adrien in for a kiss.
This kiss was a mess, desperate and full of frustration. The suit was quick to encase them but they kept on kissing, grabbing onto each other, letting their feelings out. By the time Ladybug had Chat against the wall, another scream was let out outside, a familiar voice yelling Nino’s name.
They had to pull away reluctantly and speed out.
The fight goes similarly to canon except Chameleon took the form of Nino instead of Adrien. Towards the end, they find out it was Lila who was akumatised. Ladybug looked at her sympathetically but then she notices how Chat watches Lila with confusion.
“She was smiling like she won the lottery when I last saw her. How did she get akumatised so quickly?” Chat eyed the Italian cautiously, leading Ladybug away by hand instinctively till she whipped her yoyo out and they simultaneously leapt away, missing Lila’s pissed off gaze.
“What do you mean smiling? She was crying so badly when she ran out of the bathroom...” Ladybug added.
Chat narrowed his eyes as did Ladybug till they both suddenly looked at each other. It clicked.
“She faked everything...the whole crying out of Mlle. Bustier’s staff room and bathroom was all a fake...to make me feel bad...”
“That’s why she looked so damn proud of herself- but that doesn’t explain the butterfly.” He glanced back at Ladybug, taken aback by her guilty look. All that Chat saw was red.
“Bug. Were you almost akumatised...because of HER?” Ladybug’s silence was all that Chat needed. Enraged, he made way back to the eiffel tower, thirsting for the blood of a certain Italian.
He didn’t expect his transformation to drop mid jump, quickly saved by Ladybug’s yoyo string, dropping them both down a secluded alleyway. Her transformation fell too.
“Adrien. We are heroes. Don’t hurt her.” Instead of answering, Adrien slipped his ring off and laid it next to Plagg who laid with exhaustion and a block of cheese. He stormed towards Marinette, hands trembling but successfully taking off her earrings, laying them by Tikki who was by her counterpart along with a cookie. Marinette didn’t even flinch.
She let him crush his lips against hers. Let him push her against the wall. Let him kiss her senseless without a care about school or classmates or anything else. All that mattered was each other. She finally closed her eyes, arms around his neck and deepened the kiss.
By the time Mari and Adrien does make it back to class, everyone teases their dishevelled look and messy hair. How are they not dating yet, they’ll never know. The duo ignored Lila’s presence as they made way to the back of the class.
They vowed to not only protect each other but anyone else around Lila’s presence. If they want her to be caught, they’ll need to be patient. Good thing Alya is an aspiring journalist. The ep ends with just adrinette and Lila having a stare off outside the school.
“This is War.” Lila mouths, the same devilish smile stuck on her face before it twisted into that sickly saccharine smile, yelling out her goodbyes to them both.
THE END.
Satisfied? :’DDDD

In Due Time Chapter 21: Fireworks
Marinette and Adrien get ready for Alya’s New Year’s Party
@marichatmay
Enjoy!
First Chapter | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Read on Ao3
“Hey, listen up, everybody!” Plagg yelled as he entered the room in front of Adrien. “The kid is going to a party! And no,” the kwami quickly added as a few others tried to ask questions all at once, “it’s not one that rotten ol’ Gabe is making him go to!”
Adrien entered the living room to cheers and applause from all the kwamis under his care. The only thing stopping him from rolling his eyes were his own nerves. Soon, many of them were zooming and swirling around him as he walked through the room, checking and double checking his attire.
“What’s the matter, bucko?” Stompp said, a frown gracing her face. “I’d thought you’d be chompin’ at the bit to go wild outside your papa’s watch.”
“I am, but…” Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. “The only one I’ve actually hung out with in person has been Marinette. And most of the time, that wasn’t Adrien exactly.”
“Kid, it’s just a mask. I don’t see what the big deal is. Plus,” Plagg said with a teasing grin, “I know you’re looking forward to seeing Tikki’s kid today. Hm…?”
Adrien gently pushed Plagg aside when he leaned close into his face, but Adrien refused to meet his eye. The cat kwami snickered as he floated away. Adrien might like Marinette, but he had no idea if she felt the same way or if he could even afford the luxury of having a girlfriend right now. Necessity had forced romance out of his life a long time ago.
“Besides Marinette,” Adrien said, trying to get back on topic, “I don’t know anyone there. I’m meeting all these people for the first time!” He put a comb through his hair for the third time that night. “What if I just end up lurking next to the food table and being a downer to the rest of them?”
“I’m confused,” Mullo said, scrunching up their nose. “Haven’t you been talking with them using the aether for a while?”
“The device he usssesss is called the internet, Mullo,” Sass corrected gently. “Not the aether.”
“Still. Does the Guardian not already know these other humans?”
“I mean… yes, I suppose,” Adrien conceded. “But-”
“Not buts, kid,” Plagg said definitively. “You’re going to go out there and have a great time instead of slacking here with these guys. Do you understand me?”
“Oooh, the time for another year has already come?” Orikko clucked happily, dancing in midair. “I’m so happy to hear I haven’t missed it!”
“Don’t worry, Orikko, I set an alarm to let you know when midnight hits,” Adrien said as he scratched beside the rooster kwami’s beak.
“Speaking of not worrying, that same thing but to you, kid.” Plagg was tugging at his sleeve. “C’mon, let’s go. Sass has got it handled here.”
Adrien glanced at the snake kwami, who nodded. “Pleassse enjoy yourssself, Massster.”
“Trust yourself!” Mullo said, floating up to Adrien’s face height. “I am sure they will love you just as much as we do!”
“See?” Plagg motioned a paw toward Mullo. “Now come on, I don’t want you to sit here until you give yourself cold feet. And I’m not about to let you pass up the opportunity to hang out with people born in the same geological era as you!”
“You’re right.” Adrien took a deep breath and let himself get a little excited. “Come on, Plagg, let’s go.”
“‘Course I’m right,” Plagg muttered as he flew into Adrien’s coat pocket. “When am I ever not right?”
The sun had already set by the time Adrien had gotten into his car, but there was still plenty of time before the main event of the night. It was a long drive to the part of Paris where Alya lived, long enough to let Adrien think about how time had changed him. Eight years ago he would’ve jumped at the chance to go to a party and make friends.
But having one thing after another ripped out from underneath him had changed his perspective. Being stopped from going to public school. The many parties thrown by coworkers his father had prevented him from seeing. Not to mention all the stuff he’d been forced to bail on because of an akuma attack. Isolation thanks to his family and his duties had done well to keep him from having friends.
But tonight… maybe tonight would be different. The old embers of optimism burned bright inside him, despite what the years had done to extinguish them.
He found a place to park his car and walked up to the apartment. His hands were stuffed into his pockets to ward off the chill and he was still lost in his thoughts by the time he arrived at the front door. His hand touched the door knob at the same time as someone else.
Startled, he looked to see who he had bumped into only to get lost in big, blue eyes.
--------------
“Marinette, I promise you look fine,” Tikki said patiently as her chosen ran a brush through her hair nervously. Tikki smirked. “I’m sure Adrien will love what you’re wearing.”
Marinette fumbled her brush, dropping it. “Don’t just say that!”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not getting dressed up just for him!”
“Oh?” Tikki said innocently. Far too innocently. “Are you expecting Chat Noir to make an appearance too?”
A blush spread across Marinette’s face as she groaned. “Don’t even joke about that. I don’t know what I’d do if both Adrien and Chat Noir were both at the party.”
“I wouldn’t be too worried about that if I were you,” Tikki said with a knowing smile. She floated off of the desk where she was sitting and toward Marinette. “You know, this might be a good chance to spend some quality time with Adrien, if that’s what you want.”
“To be honest? I don’t know what exactly I want.” Marinette sighed and sat down, smoothing her skirt as she did so. “It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way about someone, so to have it happen with two people almost at the same time…”
“Did you not have any crushes growing up? I’ve heard that’s pretty common for young humans.”
“I mean, some I guess. Definitely nothing that I’ve acted on. And before you ask, yes I have dated. But never anything serious.”
“But you want something serious with one of them?”
“Yes? Maybe? I don’t know,” Marinette said, burying her face in her hands and groaning. “I don’t like to rush into things, but… I haven’t felt a connection like this before.” She waved her hands around. “And now I’ve got two of them!”
“I’m sure you’ll figure something out! I’ve had a lot of chosen, but never one as clever as you.” Tikki landed on Marinette’s shoulder. “Why don’t you tell me about your friend’s party? To help get your mind off it.”
“Well…” Marinette said, calming down now that she was switching tracks in her mind. She grabbed her purse, which Tikki rushed into. “Alya got a taste for throwing parties back in university, so they’ve gotten pretty big sometimes. Like the Halloween one where I met Chat - she was selling tickets to that through the Cat Chat.”
Marinette left her apartment, closing the door behind her. She didn’t live that far from Alya’s place, one of many reasons she lived here in the first place. A few minutes of walking and she’d be there.
Tikki frowned. “Are there going to be a lot of people at this one too?”
“No, no,” Marinette said, waving her hand dismissively. “The New Year’s party is usually pretty small. There are usually about ten of us, mostly her and Nino’s friends. It’s nice.”
“So what do you do there?”
Marinette shrugged. “Same thing most people do at parties, I guess. Play games, drink, dance, talk. Although New Year’s is a little special because her apartment has a great view of the fireworks show the city does.”
“Wow! That does sound fun!”
“Right? Anyway, I’m also pretty nervous because Adrien said he’d try to make it. Nino and Alya have been dying to meet him, but…”
“But?”
“Well, they tend to worry too much about me. Which makes me worried that they’ll scare him away by trying to get us together.” She entered the building through the backway, a little shortcut she’d learned over the past couple years.
“Hm…” Tikki hummed, a ghost of a smile at her lips. “That’s definitely a dilemma. Be a shame if they got the two of you to really hit it off with each other.”
“Tikki,” Marinette whined as the door to Alya’s apartment came into view.
“I’m just teasing, Marinette. But still, it wouldn’t be too bad, right?”
Before Marinette could respond, her hand touched the doorknob at the same time someone else’s did. She jumped and was about to apologize when she looked up into bright green eyes.
Both of them stood staring at each other for much longer than Marinette would care to admit. This was the first time they’d seen one another since when they had first met at the fashion show, even if they’d talked plenty of times online.
Eventually, Adrien rubbed the back of his neck and said, “Hey-”
Naturally he was cut off when the door flew open, Alya standing on the other side. Now, Marinette had known her friend long enough to notice the tell-tale signs of being tipsy and right now Alya checked off all those boxes. Clearly either Marinette and Adrien were the last ones to arrive, or Alya had gotten a head start on the night’s festivities.
That likely contributed to how Alya grabbed them both by the arms and practically dragged them inside, although Marinette wouldn’t put it past her to do that even stone cold sober.
“Come on you two, stop standing outside the door like a couple of weirdos,” she said, laughing. She turned her head toward another part of the apartment and raised her voice. “Hey, babe! Your buddy is here! Come on and meet him!”
Nino poked his head from around the corner, where Marinette knew their living room and therefore game consoles were, and saw his face split into a grin when he spotted Adrien.
“DUDE!” He rushed forward and gently punched Adrien’s arm. “I can’t believe I finally get to meet you! Come on, let me show ya around my crib. It might not be what you’re used to, but me casa es tu casa!”
Nino chuckled and threw an arm around a confused Adrien’s shoulders. Adrien glanced back at her and gave her a slightly worried smile and a wave before he disappeared.
“So,” Alya said, dragging Marinette’s attention back to her. She was looking awfully focused despite the handful of drinks Marinette knew she must have already had. “Let’s talk about you and blondie, hm?
Marinette groaned. It was going to be a long party.

Luka has been roaming the streets in New York City for the last several months. At least, that's as far back as his memory goes. It's fading with each passing day as he remains trapped between our world and whatever lies beyond. He's not sure if he'll ever get the chance to leave, but that all changes one day when a familiar song pulls him literally into the apartment of one Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Marinette has seen ghosts since she was a little girl, but she'd been so hopeful her abilities wouldn't be put to the test when she moved to New York City for a coveted internship. Too bad, she's proven wrong by the appearance of a rather handsome (not that she'll ever admit that aloud, mind you) ghost who needs her help in getting where he should be.
Together, they'll work to solve the mystery of what happened to Luka. They might even fall in love along the way, making his ultimate decision all the harder, but it could be the best thing that's ever happened to either of them.

Phantom of the Opera 5
1 ... 4 / 6 coming soon
Hello everyone! Thanks for all the likes/reblogs and love you guys have sent!! Its beyond encouraging and greatly appreciated!
~ Present time~
Adrien hugged his coat closer to him as the wind blew into the buggy when the doors opened for his nurse to sit next to him, he glanced out the window seeing a familiar face he hadn’t seen in some time...Alya Bustier(or now known as Lahiffe). His jaw dropped for a moment, he removed his hat flashing her a soft smile.
Alya made her way to the bottom of the opera house entrance stairs, turning her gaze straight forward, locking faces with the old but wise green eyes that were in the street, she smiled back at him, it’s been quite some time since she saw him last. She watched him clear his throat, and the buggy yanked forward, leaving her there standing alone, wind blowing leafs all around. Remembering her best friend and her love story.
Adrien leaned to the side, watching Alya stare at him drive away, his mind flashing back to the time he and Alya witnessed and lived the worst, but the best time in Marinette's life.
~Past time~
M. Gabriel barges in through the front doors of the opera house going on and on about his big dilemma of his singers coming and going.
“It says “Mystery of sopranos flight, mystified, all the papers say! We are mystified, we suspect foul play” bad news on soprano scene, first Chloe now Marinette!?” He stomps up the stairs frustrated. “Still at least the seats get sold...gossip worth it’s weight in gold. “ he nods to the maids cleaning up for the show that’s to come
“What a way to run a business...spare me these unending trials. Half your cast disappears but the crowd still cheers! Opera… to hell with Gluck and Handel! Have a scandal and you’re sure to have a hit!”
M. Andre huffily walks to Gabriel holding a letter in his hand, “Damnable, will they walk out? This is damnable!” He shouts clenched fists.
Gabriel shushes Andre grabbing his shoulders “Andre please don’t shout! It’s publicity! And the take is vast..free publicity!
He stares at Gabriel stunned, “But we have no cast!!”
“Andre...have you seen the queue?” He glances down to Andres hands, groaning he says “ Ah… it seems you’ve got one too?”
He opens his letter, reading it aloud, “ Dear Andre, what a charming gala, Marinette in a word, was sublime. We were hardly bereft when Chloe left! On that note— the divas a disaster, must you cast her when she’s seasons past her prime?(in reference to Chloe)” Andre crinkles the letter in his hand as Gabriel pulls out his own letter he received.
“ Dear M. Gabriel, just a brief reminder, my salary has not been paid, send it care of the ghost, by return of post!” He flicks it with his finger “ P.T.O. no one likes a debtor, so it’s better if my orders are obeyed.” The men glance at each other baffled, together…
“Who would have the gall to send this? Someone with a puerile brain!” They shout
G: “These are both signed O.G!”
A:” Who the hell is he?”
They look to each other, realizations hitting them, “Opera Ghost!”
G: “It is nothing short of shocking..”
A: “He is mocking our position!”
G: “In addition he wants money!”
A: “What a funny apparition..”
They both groan turning the corner, “ To expect a large retainer, nothing plain-er. He is clearly quite insane!”
Adrien bursts through the door of the office where the men stand, “Where is she!?!” The blonde man shouts
Andre turns to Adrien “You mean Chloe?”
He frowns, “No! I mean Miss Dupain-Cheng!” He runs a hand through his blonde locks, “Where is she?!”
“Well how should we know?” Gabriel retorts
“I want an answer!” He almost growls, he takes a deep breath composing himself, “I take it that you sent me this note?”
Andre takes the envelope form Adrien, “What’s all this nonsense?” He skimms over the note and scoffs “Of course not!”
“Don't look at us” Gabriel says glancing over Andres shoulder at the envelope
Adrien face relaxes, going from hate to worry, “She's not with you then?”
“Of course not!! We're in the dark..” Andre exclaims
“Monsieur don't argue! Isn't this the letter you wrote!?” He points to Gabriel anger building back up
Gabriel’s takes the envelope from Andre opening it “And what is is that we're meant to have wrote?.....Written!” He grimaces at his grammatical mistake.
“Do not fear for Miss Dupain-Cheng,
The Angel of Music has her under his wing...
Make no attempt to see her again…” Gabriel pauses his eyebrow going up in confusion
“If you didn't write it then who did?” Adrien questions before the doors bust open again
“Where is he?” Chloé yells her heels clacking against the marble floors
The opera house owners grin wide, opening their arms to the drama queen, “Ah, welcome back!”
“Where is he?! Your precious patron, where is he?” She gets in their faces jabbing her finger into Andre’s chest
Adrien steps forward hoping to de-escalate the situation. “What is it now?”
Chloe whips around towards him, he takes a few steps back, as she comes closer, saying, “I have your letter...A letter that which, I rather resent!”
Gabriel’s raises an eyebrow towards Adrien, “And did you send it?” He asks him.
“Of course not!” He exclaims shocked.
Andre scoffs, “As if he would!”
Kim holds Chloe back, they both say simultaneously “You didn't send it?”
Adrien pinches the bridge of his nose “Of course not!”
Andre interjects Chloe from going after Adrien along with Kim, “If I may, what is going on?”
Chloe grumbles, “You dare to tell me
That this is not the letter you sent?!” She holds the letter out to him shaking it
He huffs going and taking the letter from her, “And what is it that I'm meant to have sent?” He glances down at the letter then begins to read it aloud, "Your days at the Opera Populaire are numbered. Marinette Dupain-Cheng will be singing on your behalf tonight. Be prepared for a great misfortune should you attempt to take her place…” he swallowed hard looking at everyone in front of him.
Andre and Gabriel glance at each other both bubbling with confusion and hate. “Far too many notes for my taste… And most of them about Marientte.
All we've heard since we came
Is Miss Dupain-Cheng’s name!!” They announce together
Madame Bustier comes in with her daughter, the doors creaking and her staff bring a hum to the room as it hits the floor. “Miss Dupain-Cheng has returned.”
Andre sighs, “No worse for wear as far as we're concerned. Where precisely is she now?”
Madame Bustier glanced to him, “I thought it best she was alone in her room.”
Alya comes over toward Adrien, “She needed rest..” she glances up at him giving him a soft smile.
He looks down at Alya, “May I see her?” He makes his way to the door, being stopped by Madame Bustiers staff.
“No Monsieur, she will see no one”
Chloe and Kim groan in unison, “Will she sing?
Will she sing?”
Bustier closes her eyes to keep from rolling them, “Here I have a note..”
All except Ayla make their way to Madame Bustier, all yelling, “Let me see it!!”
Gabriel groans, being the tallest man in the room, “Please..” , he reaches over everyone grabbing the note from Madame Bustier, reading aloud, "Gentlemen, I have now sent you several notes of the most amenable nature detailing how my Opera House is to be run.
You have ignored my orders...I shall give you one last chance
Marientte has returned to you..
And I am anxious her career should progress
In the new production of Il Muto. You will therefore cast Chloe as the page boy and put Miss Dupain-Cheng in the role of Countess.
The role which Miss Dupain-Cheng lays calls for charm and appeal…
The role of the page boy is silent which makes my casting in a word, ideal—I shall watch the performance from my normal seat, in box 5 which will be kept empty for me.
Should these commands be ignored, a disaster beyond your imagination will occur
I remain, gentlemen, your obedient servant
O.G”
Chloe and Kim’s mouth agape, “Marinette?!”
“What next?” Andre asks checking his watch
Kim rolls his eyes, “It's all a ploy to help Marinette!”
“This is insane” Gabriel sets the note down
Chloe snapped her fingers, the light bulb going off in her head, “I know who sent this! The Viscomte, her lover!”
“Indeed, can you believe this?” Adrien rolls his eyes huffing.
“Signora..” Andre begins quietly.
“O tradori!” She throws her arms up in the air, being dramatic per usual.
“This is a joke… This changes nothing!” Andre goes closer to Chloe
“O mentitori!” She lets herself collapse into a nearby chair, Kim rushing over to fan her
“Signora!” Gabriel yelps “You are our star! And always will be!” He announces
Andre slicks back his hair with his palms then straightens out his jacket, “We don't take orders!”
Gabriel nods in agreement, “Miss Dupain-Cheng will be playing the page boy...The silent role.” He says the last line sternly. “Chloe will be playing the lead.”
Chloe pouts, “It's useless trying to appease me!”
Kim turns towards the men, fanning Chloe faster, “Appease her!”
“You're only saying this to please me!” She grabs her handkerchief drying her nonexistent tears. Kim moves stray hairs from her face “Please her!” Both Chloe and Kim begin speaking at the same time, the more they plead together the faster they get what they want. “ Lasciatemi morire! O padre mio! Dio!”
Madame Bustier shakes her head, “Who scorn his word beware to those—“
Chloe cuts her off screaming, “You have reviled me!”
“—The angel sees, the angel knows..” she continues
Adrien sits rubbing his hands together, “Why did Mari fly from my arms?”
Chloe continues her fake tears chanting nonsense “You have rebuked me! You have replaced me!”
Andre and Gabriel beg her, egging on her mini drama performance, “Please Signora we beseech you!”
“This hour shall see your darkest fears..” she pulls Alya close to her as the four argue
Adrien rises from his seat in the corner going to Alya, “I must see her..” he whispered to her.
Kim gets in Andres face, “Abbandonata! Deseredata!
O, sventurata!”
“The angel sees, the angel hears..” Madame Bustier makes her way to the doorway, tapping Alya to follow her.
Adrien grabs her arm gently, “Where did she go?” He begged
Your public needs you! We need you too!” Andre begs Chloe, grabbing her hands. She moves her hands from him, “Wouldn't you rather have your precious little ingenue?”
“Signora no! The World wants you, Prima Donna first lady of the stage! Your devotees are on their knees to implore you! Can you bow out when they're shouting your name?” Andre sighs
Gabriel pushes Andre aside, sitting with Chloe, “Think of how they all adore you! Prima donna enchant us once again. Think of your muse And all your queues 'round the theatre!” He swoons as Andre rises back up going next to Kim “Can you deny us the triumph in store? Sing Prima Donna..once more!!”
Adrien makes his way to Madame Bustier, “Marinette spoke of an angel..”he begins and she shushes him.
Andre and Gabriel beg Chloe once more, “Think of your public!”
Chloe looks at them disgusted, “You took a snub, but there's a public who needs you” she mocks
Madame Bustier pulls Adrien closer to her, “She has heard the voice of the Angel of Music..”
Andre smiles helping Chloe turn back to them “Those who hear you liken you to an angel. Think of the cry of undying support—We get her Opera. She gets her limelight!”
“Follow where the limelight leads you” she smirks taking her fan from Kim. “Prima Donna your song shall never die. You'll sing again and to unending ovation” she continues to mock them as she circles around them, covering her smirk with her fan.
Gabriel lets out a shaky breath, knowing they’ve almost got her back in their clutches, “This misacating will invite damnation. Lunatic demands are regular occurrences. Think how you'll shine in that final encore! Sing Prima Donna once more!!”
Adrien looks to Madame Bustier with confusion but determination, “I must see these demands are rejected.”
Gabriel rolls his eyes at him, “Who'd believe a diva happy to relieve. A chorus girl whose gone and slept with the patron? Adrien and the soubrette, entwined in love's duet! Although he may demur, he must have been with her!”
Chloe smirks at Gabriel “Fortunata! Non ancor abbandonata!”
Andre smiles grabbing the letters throwing them in the trash, “You'd never get away with all this in a play, but if it's loudly sung and in a foreign tongue. It's just the sort of story audiences adore, in fact a perfect opera!”
Alya frowns, “For if his curse is on this Opera…”
All except Adrien, Madame Bustier And Alya, sing-
“Prima Donna the world is at your feet. A nation waits, and how it hates to be cheated!
Light Up the stage with that age-old rapport, Sing Prima Donna Once more!”
Kim, Chloe, Andre and Gabriel all exit to prepare for the show, Madame Bustier follows to prepare the dancers, “Alya! Come at once to the stage.” She nods at her daughter exiting the office.
Alya turns to Adrien as they come closer to the door, “my mother lied to Monsieur Gabreil and Andre..Marinette, she’s in my room, go quickly, they will start looking for her soon—“
“Alya!”
Adrien bites his lip as they exit the office. She turns behind her hearing her mother, “Coming!” She turns back to Adrien, she places a hand on his upper arm giving it a reassuring squeeze, “be careful, they will be looking for her soon enough to let her know chloe will be singing the lead, Good luck!” She smiles and leaves him.
He nods as she looks back at him before turning the corner. He tugs his jacket down, glancing down the corridor, before making his way to the in house, living rooms.
