I still can't get over the fact that the writers on the Mario + Rabbids sequel decided to give a Rabbid version of Princess Rosalina clinical depression and make that the emotional anchor of the entire narrative, and somehow that worked.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope!!
I am super late to the Mario + Rabbids series. But WOW, this game is filled with so much charm. From the references to the animation. Even the gameplay, it's much more enjoyable than I initially thought. It feels super rewarding after beating a challenging level.
I also bought the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC. It's been a hot minute since I've seen or thought of Rayman. Happy to see our limbless heroe be relevant again.
I suddenly had an ITCH to redraw two specific images because they looked fun to do? but also kinda funny. I really just wanted to experiment more with shading and background of how much i could..do them i suppose
they took painfully longer to finish but honestly i'm proud of both of them :D
(also drawing phantom was pain in the ass, never going to draw this man ever again.)

Rayman’s loneliness in Captain Laserhawk hurts considering he’s surrounded by friends in most of his games. After watching it, I wanted to make a comparison to game appearances and his anime counterpart.
In this piece I tried out the shading used in animation for the Captain Laserhawk anime’s Rayman. For the Sparks Of Hope Rayman side, I shaded in a 3-D looking airbrush style. I really wanted to get across that they are from different universes (2-D and 3-D) and I think it worked out! This was very fun shading and lighting study to do.
Constructive criticism is welcome for this piece! I am looking to improve on things like shading and backgrounds. I have mostly been practicing 3-D looking shading recently and am eager to learn more about 2-D shading.
