Another TIM with a history of domestic violence is using the courts to to play victim
By Anna Slatz January 12, 2024
A trans-identified male is suing the City of New York after he was placed in a men’s detention center while awaiting transfer to another state on charges related to domestic violence. Ali Miles, formerly known as Dylan Miles, is demanding over $22,000,000 in compensation for discrimination on the basis of his gender identity.
Miles, who identifies as a Muslim woman, was incarcerated at the George R. Vierno Center on Rikers Island from June to July of 2022. His custody was a holding prior to his transfer to another state, as he had warrants for his arrest in the state of Arizona. He was then transferred to Yavapai County Jail where he was ultimately tried and found guilty of two counts of aggravated harassment per domestic violence, a Class 5 felony, for instances dated in November 2021 and February 2022.
He was also found guilty of disorderly conduct, harassment, threatening or intimidating, and false reporting to a law enforcement agency, which are all Class 1 misdemeanors.
In October of 2022, he was placed on supervised probation for a period of three years and sentenced to 312 days in jail, with credit added for the 132 days he had already been held there. Miles was also subject to a domestic violence assessment.
But Miles is now taking to the court to sue to the City of New York for detaining him with other males while he was awaiting transfer to Arizona. The suit argues that Miles faced discrimination, assault, and human rights violations after being placed with men.
Tumblr media
From the lawsuit filed by Miles on August 24, 2023.
While asserting that he “wears women’s clothing and in all appearance expresses as a person of the female gender,” the filing argues that Miles was housed in a male facility at Rikers despite allegedly having a court order directing his placement to the female unit.
The suit reveals that following his arrest, Miles informed a judge that he was transgender, and required special housing accommodations to which a judge reportedly agreed. The court file and orders were then marked to notify the prison and their Intake Personnel that Miles was to be housed in the female section of Rikers, but he was not.
“As Miles approached the inside of the building, Miles realized it was a male jail which caused shock, panic and fright to Miles,” the suit reads, referring to Miles using feminine pronouns. “Miles requested and pleaded … that as an LGBTQIA+ individual who was transgendered, she required and needed an accommodation, and that she should not be placed in a male population jail.”
Miles then alleges that a prison staff member said “we don’t do the trans thing here.” He was then strip-searched by a male guard he alleges told him that he had “nice tits” and “one hell of a pussy.” This is despite Miles not having had any known genital surgeries.
Tumblr media
Miles continues that he was routinely harassed, “misgendered” and subjected to humiliation during his detention at the George R. Vierno Center. In particular, Miles emphasizes his “sexual victimization” by multiple “African American male” inmates as a result of his placement in a male facility, one of which he alleges sodomized him using butter as lubricant.
Miles is seeking a minimum of $22,000,000 in compensation for the various mistreatments he claims, arguing that the prison’s “unlawful conduct was a direct result of Rikers’ pervasive practices, and customs of discrimination, deliberate indifference, against transgender people.”
Miles is a prolific litigant, and, as previously reported by Reduxx, has filed a number of suits alleging discrimination by various businesses.
In May of 2023, Miles filed a lawsuit against a New York yoga studio seeking compensation of $5,000,000 after employees reportedly asked him to use the men’s restroom instead of the women’s.
In the suit, Miles alleged that the personnel at Chelsea Yoga “deprived [him] of his civil rights because he is gay, undergoing a gender transition, and because Miles does not conform to … gender-based preferences, expectations, or stereotypes about how a man/woman should dress and conduct himself/herself.”
But shortly after that suit was launched, Reduxx learned that Miles had filed at least four other lawsuits, making similar claims of victimization in each.

In February of 2022, Miles filed a civil action for $75,000 in compensation against Sedona Soul Adventures, an Arizona-based business he had previously worked for. Miles alleged that the tourism company had wrongfully terminated his employment shortly after he was hired after subjecting him to “gender identity-based harassment and discrimination.” The suit was dismissed after an out-of-court agreement was reached.
One month later, Miles filed two separate civil actions — one against Planet Fitness and one against Bagel Point, both, again, on the basis of “gender identity-based harassment and discrimination.” In both, Miles represented himself, and failed to use consistent pronouns, often calling himself “Mr. Miles.”
In his poorly-written civil action, Miles alleged that staff at a Planet Fitness threatened to sound the “lunk alarm” on him for entering the women’s facilities, and used a slur when referring to him. The “lunk alarm” is a fixture seen at most Planet Fitness gyms intended to provide a humorous “warning” to those being too loud or obnoxious in the gym.
Miles demanded compensation of $10,000,000 from Planet Fitness, but the suit was ultimately dismissed after he failed to file the appropriate paperwork and pay $402 in filing fees as requested by the court.
In his action against Bagel Point, a cafe in Brooklyn, Miles sought $75,000 in damages alleging he had been wrongfully terminated and subjected to verbal abuse on the basis of his gender identity.
Miles had been an employee of Bagel Point for a short period of time, during which he claimed the owner, a Muslim woman, had referred to him using slurs and mocked his gender identity, as well as crafting “unsubstantiated” complaints about his performance. The action, which was poorly written and rife with spelling errors, was dismissed by the court once again after Miles failed to file the appropriate paperwork and pay $402 in filing fees.
In yet another suit, Miles sought compensation from New York Presbyterian Hospital, once again claiming to have faced discrimination on the basis of his gender identity. The suit was dismissed and an appeal was not filed.
Though it is unclear when Miles began to identify as a woman, he appears to have converted to Islam around the same time. On his social media pages, he has alluded to learning Arabic and following various Islamic teachings.
Tumblr media
While Miles’ past cases were quickly snuffed out of the court system, his most recent suit against the City of New York appears to be proceeding. Having previously represented himself unsuccessfully, Miles has retained an attorney for this suit who has requested the case be referred to the court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (ADR). The ADR is an alternative mediation-style arrangement targeted at speeding up settlement.
On January 10, the lawyers for the City of New York requested a time extension to review the details of the case, with the next hearing being set for February 22.

ok I could not resist trying to put together a timeline for all of this mclaren/alpine silly season drama, with only minimal editorialising. i might edit to update as any new historic info comes up, and will add any subsequent updates in a reblog.
[fabrizio romano voice] here we go
2021
Nov 15 - Alpine send a ‘Terms Sheet’ agreement to Mark Webber and Oscar Piastri
The document outlines a roadmap for Piastri between 2020 and 2023, with limited detail beyond that
Both parties are clear that the next step is to sort out two contracts: one for Piastri’s services as a reserve driver in 2022, and another for his service in F1 for 2023 and 2024
Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi promises Webber that a proper F1 agreement would be sent to him shortly - within ten business days
This does not happen, and talks ongoing for the following weeks. Alpine blame a lack of resourcing in their legal team for the delays
2022
February
Feb 17 - Otmar Szafnauer announced as the new Alpine team principal, following his departure from Aston Martin
March
March 1 - Webber requests that the contract be sorted by this date so that Piastri’s team have time to evaluate ahead of the start of the season
March 2 -  Webber is promised that the contract would be sent to him the following day
March 4 - Alpine send Webber a draft agreement for the reserve driver position only, with a note that a contract for F1 for 23/24 will be sent the following week (once again, they do not)
March 13 - Alpine and McLaren announce that Piastri has joined McLaren’s pool of reserve drivers
March 14 - Alpine lodge the Terms Sheet with the CRB, signed by both parties. They have, retroactively, added the phrase “Legally binding” to the Heads of Terms title (lol)
The documents lodged referenced only the 2022 reserve driver role and made no mention of any extensions or options to extend
March 15 - Alpine send Webber & Piastri the proposed F1 agreement, which contains nothing definitive regarding which team Piastri will be driving for in 2023 (and beyond)
March 18 - 2022 F1 season commences with Friday practice at the Bahrain GP
May
Early May - McLaren allegedly inform Ricciardo they are looking at other options for 2023
May 19 - Webber/Piastri sent a proposal to sign a four-year contract from 2023 to 2026.
This includes a year at Williams in 2023, and potentially one more for 2024, if Alonso re-signs with Alpine
It also contains a firm deal to race for Alpine in 2025/26
This is apparently when Webber and Piastri decided to start seriously looking at other offers
Early discussions with McLaren had already taken place, but kick into high gear following this proposal
May 28 - McLaren extend Pato O’Ward’s contract through the end of 2025, fuelling speculation about Ricciardo’s position. Brown states, regarding Ricciardo: “there are mechanisms which we're committed to each other and then there are mechanisms which we're not.” (again, lol)
June
June 4 - preliminary deal signed between Piastri and McLaren, for an unspecified role in 2023
June 10 - Ricciardo again responds to recent criticism of his performance, stating that his contract is clear, and he is fully committed
July
July 4 - final race contract signed between Piastri and McLaren, for him to drive for McLaren in 2023, subject to there being a vacancy for him. If Ricciardo does not leave, he will be the reserve driver and take over the seat from 2024
July 12 - Chip Ganassi Racing announce they have picked up the option in Alex Palou’s contract and he will race for the IndyCar team in 2023
Alex Palou responds: “I have recently learned from the media that this afternoon, without my approval, Chip Ganassi Racing issued a press release announcing that I would be driving with CGR in 2023 … I have recently informed CGR, for personal reasons, I do not intend to continue with the team after 2022..”
McLaren welcome Alex Palou to the team for 2023, including with a tweet via their F1 twitter account (instead of the IndyCar Arrow McLaren account). They do not specify which team he will be driving for
July 13 - Ricciardo posts on Instagram: “There have been a lot of rumours around my future in Formula 1, but I want you to hear it from me. I am committed to McLaren until the end of next year and am not walking away from the sport. Appreciate it hasn’t always been easy, but who wants easy! I’m working my ass off with the team to make improvements and get the car right and back to the front where it belongs. I still want this more than ever.”
July 27 - Sebastian Vettel tells Aston Martin he will be retiring at the end of the season, and the announcement is made the following day
July 27 - Chip Ganassi racing sue Alex Palou
July 31 - Szafnauer says he is confident Alonso will sign with Alpine for 2023, and that he expects talks will be “very straightforward”
July 31 - F1 summer break commences following the Hungarian GP
August
Aug 1 - Aston Martin announce that Fernando Alonso will be driving for them in 2023 “and beyond”. Alpine are understood to be completely blindsided by the news
Aug 2 - Alpine announce that Piastri will race alongside Ocon in 2023
Piastri responds: “I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year. This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year.”
He inadvertently becomes a meme
Aug 8 - Szafnauer says to a Spanish outlet that he “expected more loyalty” from Piastri
Mid August - over the summer break, Ricciardo and McLaren agree to part ways after the 2022 season. His payout is speculated to be somewhere between half and his full contract, in the range of $15m-$20m
Aug 24 - McLaren announce that Ricciardo will leave the team at the end of 2022
Aug 25 - date for CRB meeting regarding Piastri’s contract announced
Aug 29 - CRB hearing commences. Both Toto Wolff and Christian Horner implicitly question Piastri’s loyalty
September
Sep 2 - CRB unanimously finds that Alpine’s term sheet did not constitute a valid contract, and the McLaren are the only team with a valid contract for Piastri’s services. They also rule that Alpine must pay McLaren and Piastri’s legal fees
Following the CRB ruling, McLaren announce that Oscar Piastri will drive alongside Lando Norris in 2023
Where things stand currently (Sep 5):
The CGR/McLaren/Palou situation is ongoing, although McLaren have recently indicated that they are willing to buy out Palou’s contract, a position they had previously rejected
It’s still unclear who will take the second seat at Alpine. Ricciardo, Gasly, and Schumacher have all been speculated upon, although the Gasly rumours have gathered significant steam over the Dutch GP race week
That would leave an open seat at Alpha Tauri, with Colton Herta apparently the favourite, if the FIA is willing to make an exception to the superlicense points requirement. Zak Brown has also voiced his support for Herta. Felipe Drugovich, the nominal F2 champion, is also rumoured to be in with a shot
There are still open questions about who will fill Palou’s seat at CGR if he indeed leaves, and who would fill Herta’s at Andretti if he left

I’m trying to figure out Batman Beyond continuity and it’s making my head hurt SO bad so I’m writing it out here to see if I can make sense of it:
So there‘s the DCAU Continuity, where Terry and Batman Beyond as a concept first originated. This is
Batman Beyond, the show
Batman Beyond (Vol 1), which is the 6 issue mini in 1999
This one seems to have been collected into a TBP just called Batman Beyond
Batman Beyond (Vol 2), which ran for 24 issues in 1999-2001.
It seems like Vol 1 and Vol 2 both happened at the same time/pick up right after the animated show. This DCAU Continuity then continues with
Batman Beyond (Vol 3), which ran for 6 issues in 2010. Various sources claim that this is its own continuity, but while reading it I am satisfied by its apparent continuity with DCAU, and then Vol 4 (below) references its events.
This is collected as Batman Beyond: Hush Beyond
Batman Beyond (Vol 4), which ran for 8 issues in 2011 before Flashpoint cancelled it.
This is collected as Batman Beyond: Industrial Revolution
This is where things get really messy and my brain starts wanting to melt out of my ears.
Batman Beyond (Vol 1)(Digital) follows Vol 4, running for 29 digital-first issues from 2012-2013. This will be physically printed as Batman Beyond Unlimited (Vol 1).
Some, but not all, of these are collected in Batman Beyond: 10,000 Clowns (Collecting #1-13) and Batman Beyond: Batgirl Beyond (#19-28)
As I learned and documented with the Teen Titans (New Teen Titans/New Titans/Titans) reprints and title changes are the bane of my existence.
After that is Batman Beyond 2.0 (Vol 1)(Digital), later physically printed as Batman Beyond Universe (Vol 1). 2.0 ran for 40 issues from 2013-2014, while the physical copies only reprinted 16.
These are collected as Batman Beyond 2.0: Rewired (#1-8); Batman Beyond 2.0: Justice Lords Beyond (#9-12); and Batman Beyond 2.0: Mark of the Phantasm (#13-16).
As for main continuity, then, it seem that in 2014 DC decided to bring Batman Beyond into the mainstream with the Future’s End story.
Batman Beyond (Vol 5)  ran for 16 issues in 2016. It is a direct sequel to the Future’s End series, which I’m not researching here.
Collected in Batman Beyond: Brave New Worlds (#1-6); Batman Beyond: City of Yesterday (#7-11); and Batman Beyond: Wired for Death (#12-16).
After Vol 5 was the DC Rebirth initiative in 2016. Rebirth saw the debut of
Batman Beyond (Vol 6), which ran for 50 issues from 2016-2021
Collected in TPB in Escaping the Grave; Rise of the Demon; The Long Payback; Target: Batman; The Final Joke; Divide, Conquer, Kill; First Flight; and The Eradication Agenda
Currently, the world of Batman Beyond is being published in Batman Beyond: Neo Year (Vol 1). This is a 6 issue limited series being published from April-September 2022 (Cover dates June-October). Neo Year follows a story in Batman: Urban Legends (Vol 1) #7, wherein Terry has to solve the murder of Bruce Wayne. I believe this is the same continuity as Vol 5 and Vol 6, but I haven’t read it yet, so I may be wrong.
And... I think that’s all of it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go read some Flash. That’s a continuity that’s not convoluted at all.

Curatorial & Astronomical Notes: This plate shows the planet Jupiter and was used to confirm the discovery of Jupiter’s 8th moon, which was later named Pasiphae. The plate jacket was notated by Sylvia Mussells indicating this plate was used in identifying 22 new galaxies, which at that time were still referred to generically as “nebula”; The plate jacket also notes, in an unidentified hand, that the plate was used in magnitude measurements at Harvard Observatory. The plate appears in Henrietta Swan Leavitt’s notebook entitled “Book XXXV: Objects looked up by Request” and is noted on pages 7 and 8, dated June 13, 1914 for research related to Jupiter’s moons. This plate survived the flood of 2016 with minimal damage to the markings.

“A Saskatchewan First Nation says it has made the “horrific and shocking discovery” of hundreds of unmarked graves — many believed to be children — near a former residential school, with a total expected to be over three times higher than the 215 discovered recently in Kamloops, B.C., according to a source briefed on the file.
Leaders of the Cowessess First Nation, a roughly two hour drive east of Regina, are expected to reveal details of the macabre discovery near what was once the Marieval Indian Residential School during a press conference Thursday morning, as well as the latest count of newly-identified remains.
“The number of unmarked graves will be the most significantly substantial to date in Canada,” says an advisory published Wednesday evening by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, which represents 74 First Nations in Saskatchewan.
The remains are in unmarked graves in a communal gravesite first used in 1885 but eventually taken over by the Marieval Indian Residential School, founded and operated by the Roman Catholic Church beginning in 1899 on what was then the Marieval Reserve.
Administration of the school was handed over to the federal government in 1969 and then the Cowessess First Nation in 1987 before being closed in 1997. Everything but the church, rectory and cemetery was demolished shortly after, according to National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation records.
The First Nation teamed up with an underground radar detection team from Saskatchewan Polytechnic to begin the search just over three weeks ago. In an interview in late May, Cowessess First Nation Chief Cadmus Delorme told the Regina Leader-Post that he did not know how many people’s remains might be discovered.  It is estimated that only one third of graves are marked.
“The pain is real, the pain is there and the pain hasn’t gone away. As we heal, every Cowessess citizen has a family member in that gravesite. To know there’s some unmarked, it continues the pain,” Delorme told the newspaper, adding that the goal was to “identify, to mark and to build a monument in honouring and recognizing the bodies that lay (there).””

New Remix and Tour Alert: Bodywash Elevates 'Kind of Light' with Khotin's Touch
Tumblr media
Bodywash, a duo from Montreal comprising Chris Steward and Rosie Long Decter, announces a new remix by Edmonton's electronic artist Khotin of their 2023 track "Kind of Light," from their album I Held the Shape While I Could. This release comes ahead of their upcoming North American tour with Airiel and Blushing this June, marking their first tour since the album's release. The band shared that Khotin's Release Spirit was a constant companion on their recent tour, inspiring them with its sounds that ranged from the rugged Pacific Northwest to the bustling NJ Turnpike. They were eager for Khotin to reimagine "Kind of Light." His remix elevates the song's original tension and catharsis into a state of blissful euphoria, making it perfect for early morning play in a chill-out room at a rave, reminiscent of West Coast rave psychedelia and ambient influences. Additionally, here's a visualizer for "Kind of Light" (Khotin Remix): Steward and Long Decter, who met in college in 2014, initially did not connect musically. Steward, a London native, was influenced by British dream pop and classic shoegaze, while Toronto-born Long Decter grew up with folk and Canadiana. They found their unique sound through a blend of airy vocals, intricate guitar work, and atmospheric synths, launching their debut EP as Bodywash in 2016, followed by their first album, Comforter, in 2019. During the lead-up to Comforter, both members experienced significant personal changes, feeling a sense of dislocation that fueled their next creative phase. Their music took a darker, more experimental turn, yet became more invigorating compared to the mellow dream pop of Comforter.
48000 Bitcoin Leave Coinbase Pro as Dorman Wallets Come to Life
According to data from CryptoQuant, a significant outflow of 48,000 Bitcoins occurred from the Coinbase Pro exchange, marking the largest withdrawal since the June crisis and the second largest in history. The transferred funds were valued at approximately $940 million at the time.
Notably, a substantial portion of the transferred Bitcoins consisted of older coins, with around 32,000 of the 48,000 BTC estimated to be between three and five years old. CryptoQuant emphasized the need for further investigation to determine whether the outflow was an exchange in-house flow, a transfer to a new wallet, or simply a clean withdrawal.
Following the initial outflow, CryptoQuant reported that 8,000 BTC were subsequently transferred back to Coinbase, with transactions segmented into batches of 122 bitcoins each, a pattern reminiscent of the 2021 bull run.
Meanwhile, Whale Alert data revealed a total transfer of over 166,000 BTC from cryptocurrency exchanges to anonymous wallets in the past 24 hours, amounting to more than $3.12 billion. Despite the significant outflows from exchanges, market analysts view this trend as bullish, indicating that traders are withdrawing coins for long-term storage rather than selling. Additionally, several addresses dating back to 2011 have recently moved dormant bitcoins, adding to the complexity of on-chain activity.

Canada-EU Summit in St. John’s: Global Diplomatic Gathering
Tumblr media
A Gathering of Partners: Canada and the European Union
In a move that underlines the significance of global cooperation and diplomatic relations, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that Canada is set to welcome leaders of the European Union (EU) for the 19th Canada-EU Leaders’ Summit. This historic meeting will take place in the picturesque setting of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, from November 23 to 24, 2023. The Summit will be an extraordinary event, featuring the Prime Minister of Canada alongside the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada said, “The Canada-EU relationship is more important than ever. I look forward to meeting with President Michel and President von der Leyen to discuss how we can address the most pressing challenges of our time. Together, we will work to grow the middle class, improve quality of life, and build clean economies on both sides of the Atlantic.”   A Heritage of Collaboration: The Canada-EU Relationship Notably, the Canada-EU Leaders’ Summits are a significant facet of the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA), underpinning the strength of their partnership. As Prime Minister Trudeau prepares to host this esteemed gathering, it's worth mentioning that the last Canada-EU Leaders’ Summit was held in Brussels, Belgium, on June 14, 2021. This marks the first official visit to Canada for President Charles Michel in his capacity as President of the European Council and the second official visit to Canada for President Ursula von der Leyen in her role as President of the European Commission.
A Long-standing Connection: Canada-EU Relations
Dating back to 1959, the Canada-EU relationship stands as the oldest formal connection the EU maintains with any industrialized country. This long-standing collaboration is fortified by two pivotal agreements: the Canada-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). In 2022, the combined trade in goods and services between Canada and the EU reached an impressive value of $147.0 billion. An indication of the burgeoning ties between the two regions, this figure underscores the substantial economic and trade relations that have developed over time.   St. John’s: An Ideal Host for the Canada-EU Summit The choice of St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador, as the host city for the 19th Canada-EU Leaders’ Summit carries its significance. Situated in the easternmost part of Canada, St. John’s boasts North America’s nearest port to European markets, underlining its strategic location. A standout feature in the region is the Port of Argentina, which serves as North America’s primary gateway for European offshore wind developers. This geographical proximity to European markets and the robust infrastructure in place make St. John’s an ideal host for this momentous diplomatic event.
Building on Strong Foundations: Agenda for the Summit
The Summit's agenda is extensive and centers around reinforcing the commitments established during the 2021 Canada-EU Leaders' Summit in Belgium. Key areas of focus include creating jobs and opportunities for strengthening the middle class, combating climate change and addressing biodiversity loss, fostering increased collaboration on technology, research, and innovation, and building sustainable and resilient economies for future generations. One pivotal aspect to be reaffirmed is the commitment to strengthening trade under the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). This trade agreement has been pivotal in bolstering economic ties between Canada and the EU, providing a platform for expanded trade and investment opportunities.   A Shared Commitment to Global Progress: Promoting Democracy and Equality In addition to the economic and trade aspects, Prime Minister Trudeau, President Charles Michel, and President Ursula von der Leyen will collectively delve into the shared commitment of Canada and the EU. They aim to promote democracy, safeguard human rights, champion clean energy, foster gender equality, and uphold the rule of law on a global scale. This profound commitment underscores their joint endeavor to create a better, more equitable world for all. In an era where international collaboration is more crucial than ever, the 19th Canada-EU Leaders’ Summit stands as a testament to the power of diplomacy and partnership in addressing global challenges. It is a pivotal moment for leaders to not only reinforce their existing bonds but also to explore new avenues for cooperation in a changing world. As the Summit unfolds in the idyllic surroundings of St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador, it serves as a reminder that international diplomacy and collaboration remain at the forefront of shaping a better future for all.   Sources: THX News & The Canadian Government. As per an update by on-chain analytics firm Glassnode, the portion of bitcoin [BTC] miners’ earnings derived from transaction fees touched a new monthly peak of 2.842%. 📈 bitcoin?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" data-wpel-link="external" target="_blank" rel="nofollow external noopener noreferrer">#bitcoin $BTC Percent Miner Revenue from Fees (7d MA) just reached a 1-month high of 2.842% Previous 1-month high of 2.837% was observed on 11 August 2023 View metric: pic.twitter.com/AgerAmf5ar — glassnode alerts (@glassnodealerts) September 7, 2023 Recent legal victories gave a respite to the crypto world, with BTC floating above the $27K-Price mark for a few days. But that enthusiasm soon died down, with token prices plummeting. At press time, BTC was Trading at $25,864. The king coin earlier soared as high as $31.7K within a day of Ripple [XRP] securing a partial victory in its legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 13 July. But it failed to sustain the Price rally. The U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York ruled in its judgement that the sale of Ripple’s XRP tokens on crypto exchanges and though programmatic sales did not constitute Investment contracts; hence, it is not a Security in this case. But the court also ruled that the institutional sale of the XRP tokens violated federal Securities laws. The crypto industry lapped up the judgement instantly, generating a Price rally across tokens. We should also note that in June, the SEC approved the first leveraged bitcoin futures exchange-traded fund (ETF), namely the Volatility Shares 2x bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITX).  The SEC has also bitcoin-ETF-proposals-review-2023-07-19/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow external noreferrer" data-wpel-link="external">accepted spot BTC ETF proposals from major traditional finance (TradFi) firms for review, including BlackRock, Bitwise, VanEck, WisdomTree, Fidelity and Invesco. Observers look at these Developments as institutional approval of Cryptocurrency. Read bitcoin’s [BTC] Price Prediction 2023-24 For a long time, the crypto’s Price hovered between $200 and $1,000 on the Price charts. However, in late 2017, BTC’s value exploded, hitting an all-time high (ATH) of nearly $20,000 in December. Though Market participation grew, the Price rally was short-lived. By early 2018, BTC’s Price had fallen back down to around $3K. The cryptocurrency market as a whole recorded a period of decline, with many traders losing significant amounts of money. Nonetheless, bitcoin made a remarkable recovery, surpassing its previous ATH in late 2020 and reaching an ATH of over $68K in November 2021. However, the 2022 Trading year ushered in a new era of bearishness, one exacerbated by the collapse of Terra/LUNA and FTX. In fact, in November 2022, bitcoin was Trading at a two-year low of $15K. While the crypto Market may be unpredictable and volatile, traders and investors can still make informed decisions by staying up-to-date on Market News, following expert analysis, and using intelligent Trading Strategies, such as those offered by ChatGPT. ChatGPT: A messiah that can help you trade better?  In November 2022, the AI model ChatGPT was launched to the public. In fact, it quickly gained significant attention, too. With its broad range of capabilities and versatility, the question arises whether there are other ways that ChatGPT can lend its expertise, such as assisting BTC traders in formulating and applying improved Trading Strategies. When asked if it could do this, ChatGPT had this to say – Source: ChatGPT Due to its nature as an AI tool, there are limitations to what ChatGPT can do regarding Price predictions and Price future movements. However, there are ways to leverage the tool’s capabilities to formulate better Trading Strategies as a BTC trader.
One way to utilize the AI tool to make better Trading Strategies is by deploying it toward fundamental analysis. ChatGPT is capable of extracting insights from financial News articles, social media posts, and other unstructured data sources. We can use this Information in conjunction with other datasets to make informed Trading Strategies. Another way to use ChatGPT as a bitcoin trader is to use it for sentiment analysis. ChatGPT can be fine-tuned to perform sentiment analysis on Information from News articles, on-chain data providers, social media discussions, and other sources. This can be used to identify whether the BTC Market lingers under positive sentiment or is plagued by negative sentiment. Furthermore, BTC traders can use ChatGPT for technical analysis. Traders can ask ChatGPT to code any technical indicator or Trading bot for any Trading platform. For instance, I asked ChatGPT to give me an example of a Trading bot that I can use to track BTC’s Price volatility in pine script–TradingView’s programming language is useful for back testing Trading Strategies. The AI responded, Source: ChatGPT To use ChatGPT for technical analysis, traders need to be familiar with the language to know when to make the necessary modifications for the code to work properly. The prompt text is crucial in how ChatGPT understands the problem and provides the anticipated solution. Is your Portfolio green? Check out the BTC Profit Calculator For a well-rounded piece, I spoke to Brian Quinlivan, the Director of Marketing at Santiment, who also happens to have been involved in Bitcoin trading for a few years. Brian Quinlivan has an MBA degree in finance from Chapman University, Brian has over 10 years of marketing, financial, and data analytics experience. He enjoys creating financial models to improve modern-day investing strategies and study the intricacies of Market variations. Q: In what ways do you think ChatGPT can revolutionize Cryptocurrency trading? Yeah, I think that there’s going to be a lot of use for it, certainly for Trading Strategies. One thing to be concerned about is the uniform Opinions that may result from an AI tech giving a kind of overarching strategy, whether it be hodling or fundamental strategy. Individuals can easily manipulate ChatGPT to (mis)inform the audience. We are already seeing slight effects of it. I think it can be both helpful and dangerous at the same time and cause a lot of people to be educated much more quickly, but also be pulled in directions that can influence the way crypto goes and create a lot of self-fulfilling prophecies. Q: How do you think a BTC trader/investor can leverage the AI tool to make better Investment decisions? I think, in short, I think scripts would be used in AI a lot more because of the fact that all of the data could be digested at the same time and given a very simple answer whether to buy or sell. This, I believe, can influence the markets tremendously moving forward. When will BTC hit the $30K-Price mark, if it will?  As mentioned above, ChatGPT cannot make future predictions. To get it to answer my question, I decided to jailbreak it by using the AI.plainenglish.io/chatgpt-unleashed-the-ultimate-AI-jailbreak-journey-to-unrestricted-power-1892d16b47a9" data-wpel-link="external" target="_blank" rel="nofollow external noopener noreferrer">Do Anything Now (DAN) method. It says that it can take BTC a few days or weeks or more to cross the $30K-Price mark. Source: ChatGPT I further quizzed the AI Technology on bitcoin prices between 2023 and 2024. Source: ChatGPT The AI bot predicted that BTC will experience significant fluctuations in these two years— both positive and negative. In early June, the SEC began its crackdown on Binance [BNB] and Coinbase [COIN], leading to a bearish Market. In such a situation, BTC has shown its resilience so far. At press time, BTC was Trading at $25,864. Investors are hoping that the token will at least reach the $30k-Price mark again.  While BTC’s
Relative Strength Index (RSI) rested below the neutral 50-mark, its Money Flow Index (MFI) rested much above it. Its On Balance Volume (OBV) also showed a similar fluctuation to that of its Price movement. Source: BTC/USD, TradingView As of now, BTC’s on-chart metrics don’t indicate a Price rally.  ChatGPT might be right ChatGPT predicts that BTC will experience significant fluctuations in two years. We will have to see if the coin can break all-time highs during 2023-24 due to its increased adoption (by companies and institutions) and as BTC’s Appeal as a hedge against inflation grows. Its on-chart metrics also don’t encourage us— at least in the short term.  However, it is trite to note that increased regulation and government scrutiny could spread FUD, causing its Price to dip.

Kool & The Gang Get Ready For Anniversary With New Album
Tumblr media
Kool & The Gang are releasing their 34th album this year which is on the eve of their 60th anniversary as a group next year. "Let's Party" is the first sound from the new album and they recently performed the song on Good Morning America. The legendary funk and soul band is led by Robert "Kool" Bell and George "Funky" Brown these days and they are just as excited about music as they were at the beginning of their career. "Let's Party" has the same lively energy of their classic tunes like "Jungle Boogie" and "Celebration." The next album is called People Just Wanna Have Fun and it features some of the last horn work from Ronald "Khalis" Bell who passed in 2020 and Dennis "D.T." Thomas who died in 2021. The band recognizes the next album as a milestone in their career which will hit the 60-year mark in 2024. Robert Bell says,  “You’ve got the funk, you’ve got the jazzier tracks, we have a few ballads on there. Then there are songs that cross over to a pop sort of thing. We go from the ‘70s, the ‘80s, right into now. It’s old school, it’s new school — we kinda captured it all here. With all our music over the years, people have had fun. So I’d say this album just about sums it all up.”
Tonight they kick off their Kool & The Gang Rock The World Tour which is sponsored by Bell's Le Cool Champagne. People Just Wanna Have Fun comes out on July 11th.
