If you put Malcolm Bright and Will Graham together in a room, they will bond over their trauma and their empathy but if you put Hannibal Lecter and Martin Whitley together, they will go for each other’s neck, and I would pay to see that.

My friends are about to hit me with a trash can cause for the last few months everytime I'm talking about a man I find attractive, I have to immediately follow it up by saying "thank you Michael Sheen for making me gay" but like, look at this man.

I'm finishing up my last requests but I've started watching the Prodigal Son recently and it's so good! I now have the urge to get discreetly destroyed by Dr. Whitley while Mr. David isn't looking 😁

Propaganda
Henry Stanford
Kills the father of the main character (Richard)'s future wife while disguised as him. Stalks, blackmails, manipulates, and sexually assaults Richard to convince him to become king, therefore securing his own power as his advisor. Worsens Richard's self-loathing "Demon" complex for his own benefit. Tells somebody that Richard killed her husband and gets her to target him for revenge. Gets pissed at Richard for sleeping with his own wife. Or trying to. Gets pissed at Richard for not sleeping with his wife also. (Really for finding out their son is illegitimate, but like. Come on.)
Gets Richard to the throne only to realize he's obsessed with him and wants him all to himself; probably gets him pregnant, and then tries to kidnap and imprison him. Starts an uprising to pull Richard from power when Richard refuses to run away with him and be his housewife. Gives himself up as a war prisoner and gives Richard no choice but to execute him, instead of going into hiding like Richard set up ample opportunity for him to do. Somehow is still charming and complex enough that Richard is genuinely in love with him despite all of this. I have a lot of feelings about him including both "I get why he turned out this way" and "I want- No, NEED to feed him into a woodchipper". He's also just a bitch and loser all around. Fucking guy.
Martin Whitley
Martin Whitly from Prodigal Son! He's the worst but you kind of can't help but like him anyway. He's also played by the same guy who plays Aziraphale in Good Omens and it's amazing how good and natural he is in both roles, whether he's being creepy or nice. Do I believe Martin Whitly is being the best dad he can be? Of course! Do I believe he's a ruthless murderer who would not have stopped killing without being imprisoned? Also yes. He's very scary.

NOT YET FORGOTTEN
(Part 2)
Tumblr media
Fandom: Prodigal Son
Pairings: NONE
Words: 1047
Description: Gwen joins her new family for dinner.
PART 1: forgotten
It had been a week since Gwen had been to visit her birth family. It felt so foreign to her, having a family that actually wanted her.
Jessica still called her every day, texted her even more. They talked about nothing, anything really. Gwen hadn't been to see her father since that first day but she was practically itching to go back.
She had already set an appointment with Martin, but is was for next month. Right now she was just sitting in her apartment. Well not just sitting per say, she was sitting in front of a computer.
Gwen was a writer, not a great one, but she was a writer none the less. She wrote novels mostly, some children's books, the occasional article, whatever she needed to do to make rent. Right now she was facing a bout of severe writer's block.
She heard a noise beside her, her phone rattled loudly on the wooden table. She picked it up and flipped it over. It was a text from Jessica’s number.
'Family dinner tonight, you're invited.' She smiled to herself and glanced at the time. Gwen still had a few hours before she had to get ready.
——
She was wearing a tight ankle length dress, it was forest green. She fluffed her hair a bit and put on a bit of lipgloss.
Gwen stood in front of the door, she took one last deep breath before knocking softly and pushing the door open. She wandered over to the the dinning room, the table was already set with silverware and condiments.
Soft talking could be heard as she walked farther in. Jessica was there with Malcolm and Ainsley.
She raised a hand in a greeting as they turned towards her. Jessica's eyes lit up and she walked over to give the younger girl a tight hug.
"Gwen, it so good to see you baby. Dinner’s ready go ahead and sit." Jessica said smiling.
Ainsley's head shot in and she rounded the corner, rushing over to Gwen. She squealed softly and wrapped her in a tight hug.
"I'm so glad you're here. Come sit with me." The older girl grabbed Gwen's wrist and tugged her over to the table.
She sat with a thump and Malcolm soon followed. Jessica smiled brightly and sat at the head of the table.
“It’s nice to see you Gwen.” Malcolm said, smiling.
“You too.” She glanced in between him and her plate. Jessica smiled and brought a tray of food over, she placed it in the center of the three and walked back to get more.
Her siblings each took a helping then passed the tray to her. She smiled and scooped out a portion. Everything was fine, Malcom and Ainsley talked while Gwen tried the food, all was calm.
That was until Jessica dropped a tray, breaking a stack of plates. The loud crash made Gwen’s body still, her eyes widened and her smile dropped.
Her gaze fell on the small glass shards strewn around the wooden floor. Gwen’s eyes glazed over and her breathing slowed so much it seemed as if she didn’t need oxygen.
—-
Her foster father was yelling, it wasn’t unusual for this family. Her foster mom had pushed her into the closet as soon as ‘the man’ had shown up.
She leaned closer and peered through the shudders. Her mother was screaming and yelling. She looked threw the the wooden bars and saw her foster mother grabbed the kitchen plates. Her knuckles turned white and she swung her arms to the wall, letting them go.
Her foster father was screaming even louder so Gwen put a hand to her mouth to keep quiet. The dish ware broke with a loud crash, fear ran threw her small body as it shook.
She could see some small pieces fling off the wall into her foster father and ‘the man’. Blood dripped from their arms as she choked down sobs.
Her eyes watered and tears fell from her eyes ‘the man’ was chased into the room. Her foster father punched him in the face and blood leaked from his broken nose.
The disgusting crunch nearly made her scream but she held it back. Blood seeped from his face and onto the plush white carpet. Her foster mother ran back into the room, this time with a baseball bat. She brought it down viciously onto his head.
She felt so small, she couldn’t do anything to help. She just had to sit and watch as he bled out painfully on the floor.
Crushing his skull onto the floor, he screamed at first, but it stopped. Gwen bit down on her hand and cried. It wasn’t long after the pounding sound stopped that a new sound filled the room.
She willed her eyes to close and held her breath, she imagined she was back with her family. Soft spoken and gentle, lilac nights and honeysuckle day dreams.
She later on her side in the fetal position and she opened her eyes one last time. Shards of glass were scattered all over the floor like a horrifying mosaic.
The sharp cry of a buzz saw cut through any last semblance of peace in the room, sealing her destiny.
——
Jessica chuckled to herself and glanced up. Malcom and Ainsley were looking at her both sighing and laughing to themselves.
“Sorry about that the darn thing slipped.” Jessica looked up, her smile fell as she saw her youngest daughter.
“Gwen, sweetie what’s wrong?” Jessica said. Malcolm looked over to his youngest sister.
“I think it’s a panic attack.” He rounded the table and kneeled down beside her.
“Hey Gwen, can you hear me? It’s alright, you’re here with your family alright. Try to copy by breathing okay? In and out in and out.” He kept his distance not touching her. He spoke calmly and firmly.
It took a while but eventually she blinked and her head turned around, glancing at the others. She sniffled slightly and went back to her meal as though nothing happened.
Jessica crossed her arms and looked at her daughter in concern. Ainsley put a hand on her shoulder and she flinched back before looking up.
“Mm... sorry. I’m fine, don’t worry.” She smiled at them and took another bite.

Today I learned that binging on series with truly villianous David Tennant and Michael Sheen characters (like Killgrave and Dr. Martin Whitley) is an effective Good Omens coping mechanism for me.

‘Princeless’ creators speak out against Action Lab’s 2023 Free Comic Book Day issue

Action Lab PRINCELESS Free Comic Book Day offering draws criticism – and confusion – from series creators
Please read the full article at The Beat for more context, but here's Jeremy Whitley and Emily C. Martin's full statement about Action Lab's latest dirty trick:
It has come to our attention through the excitement of our fans that there is “brand new” Princeless material being offered by Action Lab Comics for Free Comic Book Day. To say that this is a surprise to us is perhaps an understatement.
The creators of Princeless (Jeremy and Emily) are currently in a protracted legal battle with Action Lab regarding a number of issues that we feel should have voided our publishing contract with Action Lab. As detailed in the original complaint, these issues range from non-payment of royalties, late payment of artists, late delivery of books to the distributor, and Action Lab completely shutting down business and payments for a large chunk of 2020 without informing us or other creators. Jeremy and Emily have currently stopped working on Princeless and have not received any request to approve or finalize comics pages for a Free Comic Book Day release, nor have they approved any new work to be published in a format such as this which would not offer royalties or recompense to the creative team.
This is the latest in Action Lab’s continued policy of putting their personal profits before creators and we strongly disapprove.
Perhaps even more worrying is Action Lab’s claim in their Previews solicitation that this is meant to “kick off the tenth volume.” Not only was this done without our approval, but the team has only finished the first issue of the volume and the implication that the rest of this volume is coming soon is misleading to retailers, consumers, and the distributor. Those books have not been drawn and Action Lab has not attempted to settle our current legal issues in any meaningful way. The only possible explanations are that either Action Lab is trying to force the creative team into feeling pressured by the expectations of our fans and community or that Action Lab means to continue the book without us. We are not okay with either of these instances and we do not think the fans of Princeless will be either.
Princeless was never a cash cow, but that was never what it was about. It was about creating an important comic with a message that we could be proud of and the stories we wanted young comic fans to read. It is also important to create the book under ethical work practices where freelancers can expect the pay they are promised in a timely and uncomplicated fashion. Until this legal issue is settled, we would ask that Princeless fans not support this Free Comic Book Day book and that they make their voices heard to Action Lab, their retailers, and their distributors.
Thank you and we look forward to bringing this book to you in the future under better circumstances,
The Princeless Creative Team
Jeremy Whitley and Emily C Martin

“Hmm?” Martin stopped in the middle of his monologue, looking over at his son in confusion. “What did I do now? I thought it was a good thing to take interest in the interests of my children. Isn’t that why you’re here?”
