Martino is in love with Nico. Of course he is, he’s been for years now, and he knows how deep it is and how fucked up he is because he’s just so gone for this guy. He’s also aware of how fucked up he is because they did broke up before and it was a shit show, he never felt that much pain inside his chest.

Anyway, he’s thinking about all of this because he’s looking at this picture again and he’s smiling to his phone while looking.

Because, again, he’s madly in love and Nico is cute even when he’s sleeping fully clothed in the most uncomfortable position. And Nico is the kindest, sweetest person he’s ever met and he’s been so happy for the past few months. Martino thinks (assumes, and hopes he’s right) that Nico is really happy and Martino is happy for him.

Sometimes it can feel like Nico is sparing smiles which is ridiculous because now that he smiles more often - not just the common little turn of edges of his perfectly, naturally made lips but wide, showing all the teeth kind of genuine smile - Martino can’t believe how handsome he is. He’s always been, of course, with those dark loose curls, his bright eyes, but it feels like he’s at ease, actually, fully happy and Martino loves his smile.

If someone ever got ahold of his phone (especially Gio) he wouldn’t hear the end of it because he has hundreds of pictures of Nico smiling. It’s not even well thought scenarios, or special occasions, it’s just a million pictures of the love of his life smiling, or, sometimes, sleeping in weird places.

But I feel like these people don't get that he doesn't always behave in a rational way (see S4), just like must of us in real life... That he's as impulsive as Martino, but in a different way?

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: He isn't built to do the same job for his whole life. Which doesn't look good in Italian work culture, but he doesn't really care. This is probably me projecting, but I see him as someone who can easily forgive someone else's shortcomings but he's quite hard on himself.
