Obviously this is not in general a Problem it's just different people with different likes and dislikes, but it's so funny to me when people talk like the goal of TTRPG design should be to decrease the rules complexity as much as possible. Your players hate math and don't remember any of their abilities. I check the group chat and find that my players have spent the day programming simulations to check the expected performance of possible battle tactics under various conditions.
