I'm going to have to agree with Stephen King on this one....

he's absolutely right you know. Whether you thought the movie was a flop or not is one thing, and you're entitled to your own opinions. But to actively revel in and celebrate 'the marvels' (specifically) flopping in theaters is a gross look into the culture surrounding marvel right now. It just reeks of sexist incels that hated the movie before it even came out, because of it's reliance and spotlight on a mostly female centric cast of characters. It reeks of the same people who use cringey phrases to describe stage 4, like the: m-she-u.

It's disgusting and hateful.

I'm not a huge fan of stage 4 either, but not because it puts a focus on the female characters, both new and old. I actually have VALID reasons for disliking aspects of this current stage. Believe it or not. And King himself isn't a fan of marvel movies, yet he is true in saying that it's not a cute look. You just look sexist and tackless, and just... So trashy.

About the book, eye--

I do have it, and I started reading it like, 3 years ago but never finished 😭

At first, I didn't have any excuses other than laziness but now I have a problem with the author. You see, the book is not problematic as far as I can tell, but she did write awful things for DC (if you want to take a look at it, just type her name + Nightwing or Ollie, it's bonkers), so that makes me feel quite uneasy. One day, I'll resume the reading, just because I already bought the book before knowing about her.

I don't mind if people can separate art from author, tho. I usually can't, that's why I find it hard to finish it.

Sorry if the answer sounded rude or if you liked the story. It was not my intention to bash a story people enjoy, I just feel like it's my duty to let everyone at least know where they're getting into. On a bright side, I found Stephen very in character for his v4 phase, and there's Nightmare, a fave villain of mine.

I am looking forward to read the new ones, tho!! The one with Stephen and Jericho (forgot the name a), and Sisters of Sorcery 💜

ngl, I'm beginning to take issue with how in conversations about anti-intellectualism almost automatically, the face of girls and women will be slapped on the problem.

#'all those tiktok girls who only like marvel films and' - why do you always say girls and women? are the guys filling opera halls instead?#'women in their mid 20s who still only read YA novels' okay sure that's an example and relevant discussions can be had #but it reminds me of the mocking tone in which people speak of 'chick-lit' to use women's interest as an indicator of lower value #while in fact women are reading more than men in EVERY single genre of fiction. Women are doing a lot of (often unpaid) labour #supporting libaries supporting theatres supporting cultural events #meanwhile there is a pretty big overlap between toxic masculinity and anti-intellectualism #(especially misogyny and homophobia)#especially when it comes to things like ballet or opera or musical or generally dance #in fact it is often the female investment in specific things that makes them less 'valuable' in general consciousness #for thousands of years the theatre was well-respected and a high form of art - and now it's a 'wife-thing'#the father who will teach his son that theatre and dance are for girls - how is that never an example for anti-intellectualism

Just imagining what it would be like dating Loki and living with him, and like trying to get him to do chores. Just like imagine if it were raining outside, and so you haven't left the house in almost a week. At first it was kinda nice because you'd sit in Loki's lap while he's stretched out on the couch, braiding your hair while you're watching movies or listening to music or reading.

Loki is kinda lazy because he grew up being pampered by servants and his mother on Asgard, but he loves a clean home and being surrounded by nice things. He doesn't love doing chores, though. You guys would be lazy together for those first few days. Then the dishes would pile up, the plants would need watering, and the mailbox would be full of unpaid bills.

Since Loki is clueless about how bills work you would go to your desk by the window, grab your laptop, and the little pink spray bottle for the plants. "Get the plants, please," you'd say.

Loki would roll his eyes and probably over water the plants, but then magic them back to perfect health later -- you'd never need to know. Then he would start on the dishes, and you'd be on the phone arguing with the bank or insurance company. Then he throw himself down on the couch and look at you accusingly because for some reason you always insisted on balancing the bank account by hand and it always took forever.

"Y/N." He would say quietly and impatiently you while you chewed on your pen.

"Not now," you'd say, waving him off. "I'm almost done."

And Loki would flick his wrist, sending the pen flying from your hand.

"Loki!"

"Y/N!"

"What if the app is wrong?" You'd ask. "What if the account overdrafts and I have to pay a fee?"

Loki would round the desk. Then he'd reach over your shoulder and close the laptop with a click. "Then I'll get you more money to pay it off with."

"You wouldn't do anything illegal, though?" You'd ask uncertainly because it'd obviously be hard to tell if Silvertongue was lying.

"I make no promises," he'd smirk down at you. Then he'd pick you up, throw you over his shoulder like a ragdoll, and bring you back to the couch with him.

So, I'm currently reading a novel;

Gamora and Nebula: Sister's in Arms. by: Mackenzi Lee.

It's a novel set in the Marvel Universe, though I'm not sure if it's set in the Marvel (Cinematic) Universe.

Anyways, we're introduced to a badass group of women who are rebels, and daylight as minors on the planet of Torndune. A planet full of a sought out material and energy source.

The alien women in this novel are all described with a set of unique and interesting characteristics, plus I'm a sucker for teams/team ups of eclectic misfits. And It's especially cool to have a group of female led characters taking on a big bad. Considering it isn't showcased often, in media.

So, I drew one of the members of this group, and while it didn't turn out exactly as I'd envisioned her, it still was a lot of fun to draw this interesting, (if not slightly, unsightly) character.

Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion will launch for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store this fall worldwide, publishers XSEED Games, Marvelous Europe, and Marvelous, and developer Team GrisGris announced.

In North America, physical $49.99 standard and $79.99 “Ayame’s Mercy” editions will be available for PlayStation 4 and Switch. Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion follows three high school friends; Haruka Nanami, Nemu Takanashi, and Maria Hitsugi, as they explore the Amare Epatoentst Vivere Hospital, testing a local urban legend as the streamer Nemu seeks to boost her subscriber count. Unfortunately for the three girls, the legend of “Ayame’s Mercy” is true, and they trigger a decades-old curse that sends them into a dark realm. Together they must avoid the vengeful spirit of Ayame Kirishima and other horrors from the hospital’s dark past as they search for a way to dispel Ayame’s curse once and for all. The cult-classic Japanese horror franchise returns with new characters, a new setting, a terrifying new curse, and a brand-new look allowing for more thrills and chills!
