The chart does not capture the astonishing fact that these accomplishments were achieved under brutal sanctions imposed by the world’s superpower. Viva la revolución.
They also have ad-free TV ✌️📺 (you don’t need commercials with Socialism).

⚠️ ATTENTION UK COMRADES ⚠️
never in my life did i think i would be making a post like this but here goes.
what's happening in the university of brighton?
during the past week, the university of brighton has announced 110 staff redundancies in a bid to save almost £18m.
meanwhile, senior management have recently shelled out an almost identical sum of money to buy out the lease of a sports facility on campus - a decision which nobody asked for or wanted.
these redundancies will be finalised at the end of june and will have a catastrophic impact on learning conditions, which rely on the expertise of our lecturers. though the ripples of this decision will be felt throughout the university, it explicitly and disproportionately targets 'non-profitable' degrees such as humanities, arts, social sciences, etc.
for the staff made redundant, it could mean the end of their academic career due to a surplus of unemployed academics as a result of sector-wide lack of funding for teaching and research. this is also happening during a cost of living crisis.
lecturers on work visas could be forced to leave the country and may not be able to support their families. those who aren't made redundant will suffer from increased workload, larger class sizes, inability to conduct research and more students per member of staff.
the university of brighton offers a fantastic range of unique, interdisciplinary courses in the heart of the uk's queer capital, allowing our vibrant student community to benefit from intimate seminars that immensely benefit our learning. with some of our departments being cut by more than half, the loss of these will be absolutely devastating.
in the e-mail the student body were sent, we were told the redundancies 'wouldn't affect us', with zero acknowledgement of the relationship students build with their lecturers.
this is an attack on the job security and dignity of our valued body of educational staff. the vice chancellor, who takes home around £250,000 a year, said she 'needs to pay the gas bill'. we say human beings over buildings.
the student body cannot allow this. this sets a dangerous precedent for workers all over the country.
so what can we do to help?
let them know that this not okay. voice your concerns to the vice chancellor debra humphris, who can be contacted at [email protected]
spread information. tell your friends. kick up a fuss. stand in solidarity with staff and students. contact your local representatives and encourage them to offer support. jeremy corbyn has already given his!!
consider following @ uobsolidarity on instagram to stay updated.
here is a petition you can sign and some relevant news articles. here's how to find your mp.
SOLIDARITY FOREVER. FUCK GREED. PLEASE BOOST!!!

Ahem…
Fascism is dictatorship. It is authoritarian, totalitarian, tyrannical
Communism is just rebranded fascism with a committee rather than a dictator
Socialism is just communism-lite *but it will go full force communism in a very short time
The Nazi party is just rebranded fascism with a socialist take
None of the above are economic systems, or any sort of systems of government. They are simply the very, very few ruling the very, very, very many… and with tech on their side this time, if they are not stopped NOW, there will be no stopping them later
Anarcho-literally-anything will descend very quickly into authoritarianism, totalitarianism… tyranny… and you will not be able to organize quick enough nor effectively enough to stop it
Change my mind…
… and quit playing cute little childish fucking games with our freedom

Kit Klarenberg reporting on a new far-reaching investigation on the CIA's twisted MK Ultra program and its experiments on people of color in the United States.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Answers and accountability is something we'll never get under the Capitalist system, because the Capitalist Class cannot allow any precedent set that allows for holding members of the Capitalist Class accountable for any kind of actions they take, regardless of the harm caused. And in this case, an unprecedented amount of harm was done to Left movements within the communities of people of color in the US as the CIA attempted to use mind control methods to suppress communities of color from organizing radical political organizations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How sick do you have to be to use political prisoners to experiment with mind control methods? Our Wall Street sponsored Government has NO ethical or moral boundaries they aren't willing to violate to retain their power and control.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our Capitalist Elites biggest fear is organized resistance to Capitalist control and Revolutionary Socialist movements. By labeling followers of anti-Capitalist organizations and ideologies as mentally ill, our government used this as a Medical excuse to experiment on, harm and suppress Anti-Capitalist groups and communities of color, ravaging those movements and their ability to affect policy as they had begun to do in the 1960's.

"The darkness of MKULTRA lingers still, calling for urgent answers and transparency. America’s Black community deserves nothing less than the full extent of these operations exposed; culprits held accountable, and rightful compensation for survivors. As the shadows of the past stretch into the present, the demand for truth rings louder than ever, and justice becomes an undeniable imperative."
Couldn't have said it better myself. Major thanks to Anthropologist Orisanmi Burton for publishing this incredibly dark report, and Truthout and MPN for reporting on it.

TW// murder, transphobia, misgendering
so if you don't keep up with the news in Britain, I'll fill you in.
yesterday, Brianna Ghey was murdered in her hometown of Warrington. She was only 16. She was also trans, which considering what I'm going to discuss in this post, is relevant.
Tumblr media
However, not even a single day after her death, the GC ('gender critical' for those who aren't in the know) crowd have wasted no time in disrespecting her memory, by repeatedly misgendering her and deadnaming her.
Tumblr media
here are just a few examples from the comments of this post by Nadia Whittome MP (fair warning, these responses are pretty fucking vile to say the least):

This is what 'gender critical', or TERF, ideology inevitably leads to. Not only has a young trans person been murdered in cold blood, but hateful assholes like these lot are going out of their way to disrespect her, even in death.
and as one final insult to her memory, the british state do not allow anyone under the age of 18 to legally change their marker regarding gender on any official documents, so in addition to the disrespect on social media, the UK government is facilitating her being misgendered on official documents in death.
rest in peace, Brianna Ghey, you deserved so much better than this.

Women and the Subversion of the Community, by Maria-Rosa Dalla Costa
This is the first essay (downloadable pdf) to point out that housework done by women is actually invisible unpaid work that is necessary for the economy.
As anyone who comes home from their job and has no energy to feed themselves and clean the house knows, people who work outside the house really need a 'wife'.
Capitalism says that women's unpaid labor should be paid in 'love', because if capitalism actually had to pay for women's work, labor costs---already the highest portion of a business' costs---would skyrocket and cut into profits, and as we know, Number Must Go Up. Paying for women's labor would slow down that Up way too much. So capitalism and culture collaborate in making everyone think of women's work as a labor of love, not something to be paid for.
Marxism says that women have to be 'emancipated' from the labor of the home to be free to enter the world of paid labor, but now we understand that the 'superwoman' model is also not sustainable. Women can't be caretakers of the home and also breadwinners in the market, we're just too tired.
Tictoc says we should just give up and go back to being housewives, but that's not going to solve anything.
The real solution is to reinvent our economic system.
Which is radical, I know. But we're at an impasse, and trying to solve large problems. Large problems require large solutions.
Marxism is not radical enough, because it does not include the economic value of the unpaid labor of women, the care work that is the foundation of not only our economy, but our life as human beings on this planet.
We need an economy that supports the life of human beings, not human beings that slave to support the life of the economy.
...
I have to stop here but if you're interested in following this i'm going to keep posting under #feministdragon reinventing our economy

"cultural marxism" is an antisemitic dogwhistle
hey fun fact for anyone who doesnt know, if you hear someone talking about "cultural marxists taking over", they mean jewish ppl. marx talked about economics and societal structure, not culture - which are two very different things when you recognise that he only spoke of societal structure in terms of economics.
"According to the theory of 'Cultural Marxism,' a group of Jewish Marxists called the Frankfurt School have profoundly reshaped society and public opinion; deciding to abandon the original Marxist goal of an international working-class revolution, they sought to implement socialism through a slow, creeping takeover of 'culture.' Under such names as 'political correctness' and 'multiculturalism,' so the theory goes, 'Cultural Marxists' indoctrinated and shamed 'the West' into abandoning Christianity, family, and nation in favor of a new worldview and system of control, involving mass immigration, sexual liberation, and moral and aesthetic decline."
(shout out to @darkfalcon-z for the source and correcting my original post! please reblog this version instead as the other had inaccurate information)
jewish people pls feel free to add anything you feel relevant

always on my marxist bullshit, but the idea that a parent must be solely devoted to their child to the wholesale detriment and complete exhaustion of themselves is exactly why the bourgeois family is an act of universal violence. no one gets the care they need in that situation, and the ruling class continues to profit off of unpaid reproductive labor through the propaganda that parental exhaustion and monomaniacal devotion is pure, noble, and the only way a child can be raised without harm.
blended families, extended families, and other forms of borderless communal childcare have been the norm for the majority of human existence. the bourgeois family is an unnatural, alienating imposition completely geared towards justifying ruling class generational wealth consolidation, and beatifying a system that compensates 0% of the labor it takes to provide care, comfort, safety, hygiene, etc. for the reproduction of both tomorrow's and the next generation's labor.
anyway real facts this is why mainstream storytelling never can hit just right when it tries to tell the stories of parents and children with both being fulfilled and complete human beings. it literally can't propose a resolution to those contradictions unless it wants to start asking a whoooooole lot of other questions about families and social reproduction under capitalism....

The Second Nakba
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Two different standards and enforced separation under the Law is the literal definition of Apartheid.
Anyone who can argue Israel isn't an Apartheid Regime requires a unique level of dishonesty. You literally have to live on another planet.
This is the ongoing Nakba, or forced removal of Palestinians from Palestine in favor of white European Jewish colonists. You sure never see the Israeli State steal Palestinian land and hand it to African Jews.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is incredibly disgusting. The Israeli settlers not only acknowledge the Nakba, but celebrate it! They don't even deny their Human Rights violations. They're proud of stealing the homes of Palestinians.
