It is well known inside the Wayne manor that the Young Miss Y.n Wayne has an interest with the oddest of things. Like having this peculiar obsession with a Sanrio character called Keroppi (despite having ranidaphobia), or the mini Wayne's fixation with dinosaurs- of which nobody was even aware of until she correctly babbled the type of dinosaurs (though a few syllables off nearing the end) that was being shown on the movie poster for the first Jurassic Park movie.

Though, as odd as they claim her likes and interests to be, they all found it rather endearing rather than something to ostracise her for (not that they'd ever dare to, especially when almost all of the staffs are platonic yanderes for her).

Besides being known as the weird little lady of the Wayne enterprises who carries around a Jurassic Park sticker sheet everywhere and anywhere she goes, she is also known as Gotham's little fashionable lady. Paparazzi photos of her that would be seen on tabloids would show her wearing Van Cleef & Arpels earrings and watch to school, custom Hermes Mary Jane's to the dog park with her pet fish, Robert, and so much more outfits us simpletons would never ever be able to copy.

But I headcannon that Bruce treats brands like Louis Vuitton, Channel, and especially Gucci as walmart quality rather than high tier, making it impossible to see brands like that in Y.n's closet.

Despite being provided with the best of the best things in the world, I doubt Bruce would let Y.n have the typical 21st Century childhood, yanno, tablet at seven, phone at fifteen. I bet he would give her the "I'm going out to play Tag with my friends at the playground" type of childhood.

I like to think that he thinks it's because he wants to gift her a normal-ish childhood before she grows up and enters the business industry.

But of course, Y.n would still sometimes borrow Bruce's phone. That's unavoidable. Unfortunately, it's not for the reason you think.

She borrows his phone just so she could go to the settings, change the language to Japanese (sometimes another langiage if her clumsy baby hands pressed another language), and then take numerous mirror pictures as remembrance of her successful little act of mischief, before finally handing the phone back to her father with a proud grin on her pretty little face.

Bruce will unlock his phone expecting to see the familiar Japanese writings instead of English on his screen, before opening the settings app and easily switches the language back to English while pretending to be in distress. Before opening Google Photos to make sure the pictures she took for today's prank was backed up.

I liked the idea of the golden trio as parents so much and the fact that these cute baby photos on my pinterest newsfeed keep appearing is just making me go eidneifbdekwbsj yk 😭? so anyways, allow me to write about it more by sending me asks 😄

Shiny New Toy

Summary: Madame Sandrone has taken a special interest in you, while cleaning up her deceased colleague's belongings.

A/N: A Spontaneous little drabble I wrote after seeing this concept...Have never tried writing female Yandere before, hope this does not suck :(

Signora, the fair lady, Rosalyne, is dead at the electro archon’s hands. You were even allowed to bid her goodbye at her coffin before the ceremony, not that you have any other choice. 

You are not sure what to make of this information for a few days. 

At first, what’s left of your hopes made you believe you have a chance out of this prison now that your captor passed away.

What you failed to account for is how you are counted amongst Signora’s possessions. For the Fatui, possession of the deceased needs a new owner. 

“Normally, I have better things to do than cleaning after a dead colleague. But I volunteered for this, as I know the witch must have some collection worth looking at after so many years of life.” 

“What a surprise I got indeed.” The petite girl tilted her head and blinked curiously, as if some new shiny toy caught her attention. “Not even I know she loves playthings of your kind.”

You wanted to open your mouth to protest, but decided to swallow the words at the end.  Isn't that what you are to Signora? 

Despite her delicate doll-like appearance, the frilly dress,and light chestnut strands that hands down her shoulders loosely, this is a Fatui Harbinger you are dealing with here. 

“Hmmm, what shall I do with you?” Seeing the girl crossing her gloved fingers, thinking, you know what you need to do. It is risky, but better now than after she comes up with some sick games to play with you. 

“Would you let me go? She’s dead and I am of no use to the Fatui.” Those “brave” words only made her narrow her eyes, all you got is a light tap on the head.

If this is Signora, she would have slapped your face so hard that it leaves marks, and your lunch will be canceled, at the very least. 

But this Harbinger’s nonchalant attitude unsettles you even more. 

“It is Madame Sandrone to you, remember that nice and clear. I do not tolerate such inappropriate behavior.” Sandrone pouts while crossing her arms, a gesture that could be seen as “cute” if she is not making you kneel under her Mary Jane heels. 

“Have some respect for Lady Harbinger, I think you need some p-”

“Enough, Éliott. Go join the scavenger crew for Signora’s treasures. You are no longer needed here.” The man exited the chamber without another word, seemingly while making futile attempts at controlling his shivers.

“Close the door on your way out. Now, where were we?” Descending from her large mechanical device, Sandrone starts to take steps in your direction, with her skirt in hand. 

How her heels tap on the ground while walking towards you, sounds like the beginning of the end. Signora already said there is no sane soul amongst the Harbingers, no matter how harmless they might seem. You cannot figure out where Sandrone's loose screws are, not that you want to either.  

Being looked down by a small girl is surely a strange experience, after all, you got used to Signora towering over you. Forcing you look her in the eyes, Sandrone lifted your chin.  

The way that she caresses your cheek is just plain disturbing. What’s worse is although she is smiling a lot ,it never quite reach her blue eyes. “What a pretty thing. This whole ordeal is not a waste of time after all. How else might I get my hands on the centerpiece of Signora’s collection?”

“I will be your mistress from now on. What material for the collar would you like?  As for leaving…lose that delusional mindset, clearly Signora has not trained you adequately. ”  

Letting go of your chin, Sandrone suddenly bends down to grab your wrist, forcing you to let out a hiss of pain. Worse, she seemed to be displeased with your reaction. 

You could never assume from her looks alone, how such a dainty doll-like girl could have absurdly strong grip strength. 

“To those like me who tinker with experiments, you are like a walking treasury of rare, special materials. Do your best to behave, or you might just become part of my spontaneous projects. When I say part, I mean it. Understood?”

"Or I can give you to another of my cher colleague, I know he would LOVE to have you."

“...Yes, Madame Sandrone.” You try to lower your head, so as not to let her see lights fading away in your eyes. 

Lights pats land on your head, the same ones given to domestic animals. “Good, now come along, Chéri, don’t make me waste more of my precious time.”

No curse words, no hitting, yet Sandrone's polite words, dripped in sweet honey still managed to make you fear for your future.

😊 Initiation (Sex Wizards #1) (Alethea Faust) - erotic BDSM fantasy - actually a bit more plot & worldbuilding than I was expecting tbh, entertaining

😞 Miss Aldridge Regrets (Canary Club Mystery #1) (Louise Hare, author; Georgina Campbell, narrator) - This isn't a mystery the MC investigates, it's a mystery that happens TO her. She was tediously passive, seeming really rather naïve & foolish (esp given her age and life experience) and entirely in denial about pretty much everything that happens to her (since she's being actively framed for murder). However, the very short interval chapters from the killer's perspective did hook my interest and left me genuinely curious about the mystery. At about 44% I jumped to the end to see how the mystery resolved. I'm counting it as read since I did read over 50% of it.

😍 A Most Agreeable Murder (Julia Seales, author; Fiona Hampton, narrator) - comical pastiche/parody mashup of: Jane Austen (specifically), regency-set/gothic novels (in general) & Agatha Christie/country house mysteries - funny & entertaining, deftly done. Very Nightmare Abbey vibes in the absolute best way. I enjoyed all the caricature characters but 'overlooked tedious (but secretly a [redacted]) sister' Mary was my fave, absolute gothic queen

Your rate of the ships and why.

Thank you very much for asking, sorry for taking so long, but I wanted to answer your question as best as possible, so here are my top 5 favorites ships (Not in a specific order)

Jackunzel

Probably the most famous ship on this list, if this is your favourite, you're picking the safest option, maybe a bit overrated, but still a very good one.

Now, I believe that this couple is what we all wanted to be when we were children, to be outgoing and find someone just as fun, kind and trustworthy, who would not leave us alone in our nonsense and on the contrary would make us see the beauty of our differences. their parallelism and differences in personality and physique seem to me to be one of the best things between Disney and Dreamworks, and I consider that Jack was the direct response towards Rapunzel, taking inspiration from her to make the "Perfect boy" for a generation of people, while Although Rapunzel is not talked about much now, she is the kindest princess Disney has ever created (and still is).

Depending on what AU you have of them, I think they would make a very good and fun Sitcom in any AU.

I once read that someone compared them to Nightwing and Starfire and I couldn't agree more with that.

They are cute

I like how they look together and they give me Spider-Man and Mary Jane vibes if only Spider-Man had good character development and could mature.

I like the fact that she is an outgoing and creative girl, with an introverted and witty boy, Hiccup would be the first to fall in love with her, trying to do whatever it takes to make her notice him, supporting her with painting, teaching her everything he could. she knows about dragons, drawing, even asking them to make a small smithy so she could use it as a kitchen and both of them will cook together while in Berk.

And I can't stop seeing them in this situation

At first I didn't think I could like them that much, but I saw in them a kind of connection that I don't know how it worked, both wanting to enjoy the moment and without thinking about those responsible, just young being young.

I like how their relationship could not be supported while they are at peace, but at the moment of the action they know that they make the best team, synchronizing their movements and knowing what the other wants, and from that connection a tender love would arise where both did not want feel the love for the other, but it was inevitable, the jokes of both would begin to be excuses to get closer to the other, which Jack would love the smell of Merida and she would love the frozen sensation of Jack and fly with him.

The only thing that I think is bad about this relationship is that they would probably need to go to therapy, because they would not be very easy to open up their feelings, especially when something hurts them, so as not to appear weak to their partner and when they have an argument. or problem, they would rather solve it with… “action” than talk about it, they would be much like Ron and Hermione.

(But these are things that can be fixed with therapy, go to therapy, it's better than you think)

For the rest, I think they are a very nice couple and their relationship with the team would be one of those who always look for fights.

Janna

A extremely underrated ship, but I find it a very interesting couple, an outgoing and impulsive boy who lost his younger sister, while she is an outgoing and impulsive girl who lost her older sister for a long time.

Clearly they would create a bond, Jack taking the role of older brother that Anna always wanted to have with Elsa, but she couldn't, while Anna would take the role of younger sister and mother at the same time, being protective of Jack when she wants to. doing things without thinking, a bit hypocritical, because if she's involved with him, she's willing to follow him, which almost always ends with something broken.

Besides that Anna would help him with Jack's mommy issues.

Their relationship seems to me that it would be friendship first, going on to treat each other as brothers and family, Anna over protecting Jack and Jack feeling the crush first, followed by Anna, both are afraid of their feelings, after all, they were like brothers, but Anna, as the dominant in the relationship, decides to face the situation and here there can be two ways out, or they end up like Steve and Peggy from the MCU

Hiccelsa

I have to admit, this is my personal favorite.

I have to admit that I was one of the people who supported that Elsa was lesbian, or should be asexual, and that she shouldn't have any ship, but then I met Hiccelsa, and it totally changed my mind, this became my ship favorite, since they are not only 2 of my favorite characters, but also because they perfectly represent opposites, Elsa representing ice, immovable, cold, serene; while Hiccup represents fire, unstoppable, warm, passionate.

Their ship reminds me a lot of Superman and Wonder Woman, a fair and upright woman, with a kind and understandable man.

In addition, it seems to me that they would be a very mature relationship, where if they were fighting they would not speak to each other, but they still want to help the other, because they love each other and an argument will not separate them.

I don't think they fall in love instantly, but they would start as friends, they respect each other until they form a good friendship, Hiccup being Elsa's first "best friend" and what begins to attract them is their attitude, Elsa without fear to the unknown and willing to give everything to protect others, while Hiccup being a selfless hero, and willing to go against his superiors to do the right thing, even being just a man without a leg, attitudes that each would attract.

In addition, they are dramatic that if you stop watching them for 2 seconds they are already posing.

And their relationship with "The big 6" would be the father and mother of the team, obviously.

Believe me when I tell you that it took me longer to figure out what to remove so that this space wouldn't be so long, than to describe why I like this ship so much.

I made this meme to signify my reaction to the Comte actually being alive. After learning his behavior toward Eliza and lack of love in their marriage, I can’t help but wish he had stayed dead. I haven’t read to the murderer reveal yet, but this is what I think a regency lady would look like killing someone. I took the cute duck with knife meme and stuck a regency dress on it. Drawing some inspiration from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies here, I think it’s so fun to put a deadly killer in such delicate fashion. In Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, that softness still comes through despite the intense action in the film.

When the Comte was revealed to have faked his death, I wasn’t very shocked. The thing that did shock me was the fact that he allowed his servant to be executed in his place. If I was Marie and going out my boss killed my husband, I would for sure kill him—an eye for an eye and all. It really quickly characterizes the Comte which is very interesting because Jacques seems to grieve the loss of his master and so does Eliza. Jacques being the killed servant’s brother just complicates things. I like the twist, but there were no hints or nods to the Comte’s character before he is “resurrected”. I feel it would have been a more shocking reveal if we had learned more about the Comte. It would also increase support for Henry and Eliza’s courtship if we had known of her loveless marriage.

If the author wants us to side with whoever killed the Comte, some trash talk earlier could be afforded. I just can’t believe Eliza’s rendezvous with Henry after learning her husband was still alive. Maybe she used Henry as a distraction, but the clear thing is that she used him. I understand Jane’s hang up on their relationship, even if the rest of the world believes Eliza to be a widow. Thinking of her own reputation, Jane realizes the fallout that would occur if the Comte’s reappearance was made known and how that would reflect on her family.

As a vendor, all you really do is sell your merchandise, pay for your rent, taxes, and serve Mondstat if needed or asked by the one and only Acting Grandmaster.

After earning about 3000 Mora from your sale, it was less than usual. But it's better than no Mora isn't it? Taking the bags and packing up your stand, you accidentally fall onto your right side.

The cuts started to sting once again, making you take in a sharp breath. No one can see you like this, not when you look this much of a fool. But the seemingly loud steps rushing toward you vulnerable body made you think of the worst.

You couldn't believe someone is going out of their way to help you, now they for sure might take you to see Barbara, or might mug you. It is nightfall after all, no one would know or care to save you.

''Ah! (Y/n)! Are you hurt anywhere? Let me help you up.'' a soft, worried voice soothed your ears. You looked up and saw Jean. Great, she will for sure check if you had any wounds.

Just your luck.

''I'm going to inspect you, OK? This is for your well-being, so would you please stand straight and tall?'' you feel her hands patting your body to see if you'll have any reaction. Unfortunately you did, her pale fingers touched the sides of your stomach, causing you to wince in pain.

She hears your noise and lifts up your shirt just enough to see scars on your sides. You were ready to hear her scold you, to tell you that what you were doing is unhealthy. But she didn't. She didn’t say anything in fact. Lady Jean took your wrist and walked all the way to the church.

Barbara didn't get the whole truth on how you got these scars since Jean told a white lie saying some Walachurls cut your flesh with their large axes. The teen believed her older sister and healed you with her abilities.

Once you and the Captain left and headed for your Stand, and left all the items and merchandise at your abode, her hand gently grapes your chin. Making you look at her in her glory, she stated, ''You can always come to me about how you feel and when you need some care. I will never leave your side, (Y/n).''

Diluc (*ED*) *(*SH*)

As a waitress, many people order all kinds of wine. Was it because they liked seeing you? How kind and patient you were when you wait for the child to order for the first time? No, they always end up chucking and snickering every time you leave their table.

You put on your uniform. A nice red turtleneck worn under black suspenders that had two gold painted buttons. You wore some black Mary Jane's with cute little red socks.

You didn't know why Mister Diluc hired you anyway. It's not like Angel's Share needed any assistance, or a waitress. But he did, maybe because he knew how short on mora you were and actually did need help with the tavern, or he just took pity on you.

As someone's dandelion wine was ready to be served, you unfortunately bumped into someone. ''HEY! Watch where you're going!'' the person yelled, causing everyone in the tavern to whip their heads around to see the commotion.

You were on the floor, you took in a deep breath due to the pain and memories of last night's episode came flooding back to you. ''I-I'm sorry ma'am.'' you cowarded in fear, not wanting to provoke the now upset woman.

''UGH! You should be sorry! You spilled this booze all over me! Did you know how much this outfit costs?''

''No ma'am. I deeply apologize, ma’am.''

''Look at you! You are such a coward, a humiliation to Mondstat! Let me show everyone what to do with cowards-''

The woman was too stunned to speak. Her hand was raised to make a mark on your cheek, but a gloved hand didn't let it move any closer to you. Diluc's gloves hand to be exact. ''You can leave now, Miss. I can't have you cause more of a scene in my tavern.''

You were ready to get up and leave, but the woman who called you a coward stomped out. Everyone just stared with owlish eyes, only to told by the redhead to get back to what they were doing.

'' You can take the rest of the night off, (Y/n). I do not want to stress you.''

''Oh no! I'm fine, completely!'' You raised you hands up and waved them side by side, only to have a sleeve fall down to you elbow.

Diluc stared at your arm utterly in shock, ''Is this... Your doing?'' Your gaze only saw the floor. He will probably just not say anything and send you off, you thought, there is no point in keeping a human who hurts themselves. 

But Diluc had other plans, he took you to the dawn winery to have the maids and butlers attend to you. Fixing and wrapping your woulds with bandages. After that, he asks the servants to leave the two of you alone, he has to speak with you.

''Please, speak to me before you do such rash things. I'm not only your boss, but a friend as well.... I had prepared a meal for you. Pancakes.''

“I’ll be ok now, thank you though-” your own stomach rudely interrupted your statement. The redhead was unconvinced and ordered you to wait while he gets the meal. When he came back he asked you a question, “When was the last time you ate? If you’re comfortable informing me.” He was noticeably stunned when he heard that you haven’t ate at all today. 

“Well if you ever need someone to eat with or need help in any way. Just come by the tavern when it’s almost closed so we can walk together.” he managed to give you a smile during his plea.

The Scarlet Spider and The Wolverine! I think these two would be a blast to pair together. I like the idea of this having a fair bit of action and romance. I'm thinking that Kraven the Hunter and maybe his daughter are the bad guys. Some kind of second great hunt or something? Since Kaine and Laura aren't specifically New York tied it can also take place in multiple areas (Like Madripoor for instance).

We can either do our own take on the start of their relationship OR we can do something where the two of them are already together and investigating some magical something or another. In the comics recently, they've learned of a sect of SHIELD called WAND I kind of think it would be fun to explore Doctor Strange's feelings towards SHIELD having a magical division and what he might do about that. With Clea helping him navigate this sudden reveal.

Miles Morales/Cindy Moon

So the recent Spider-Man PS5 game teased the idea of Cindy and Miles working together. As a fan of interracial, the idea of a strong black male and a cute little Korean-American girl getting together sounds hot AF and cute. I wouldn't want to do something specifically focsed on that game but I'm into the idea of finding out some super heroics involving the two of them.

Venom (Eddie Or Flash)/Open

I'm interested in playing Venom but am not sure which version of Venom I want to play or who to pair him with. So, if you have a canon character you're interested in pairing with Venom then let me know! I can play either Eddie or Flash. Eddie in his Lethal Protector phase and Flash in his Agent Venom phase.

Matt/Elektra

This could be based on the Netflix series or not! Even if it isn't, Charlie Cox will probably be my face claim. I'm a huge fan of him as Daredevil. We can do Elektra coming back from the dead Or have their very first meeting. I'd even be okay with her coming back into his life and proposing an arranged marriage and leading the Chaste or the Hand.

They are my all-time favorite comic book couple! I'm not into the recent MCU portrayal of MJ, so if you want to do something with Peter and Mj, It would have to be closer to the original source material. However, I'm open again to all sorts of different scenarios.

Here are just a few!

Scenario 1. The two of them are living next door together and we do this as a High School (age appropriate to the site) thing. Mary Jane also finds out about Peter semi early.

Scenario 2. I love the idea of doing something with Peter Parker and Mary Jane already being married. Not just married but a young adult couple. We're talking fresh out of High School or College and trying to make it work. A really cute struggling in New York Couple romance thing with Super Heroics attached!

Scenario 3. Another idea is that Peter and Mary Jane fall out of touch for a while, she makes it as a big time actress or model, and through shenanigans, Peter is assigned as her photographer as something. The feelings come roaring back and shenanigans ensue!

Also for all of these, I am MORE than happy to give Mary Jane Spider Powers! I'd love that as a matter of fact!

That being said…. There's something fun about Felicia and Peter's relationship. Something I would like to see is them going from "Play Buddies" to a deeper and more meaningful connection. There's nothing more fun than the arrogant, prideful nerd meeting his match in the femme fatale who won't take his bullshit. That's what I'd like to see for Otto Octavius and Felicia Hardy. Otto would be in his Superior Role (IE Cloned Body of Peter with some modifications). They could start as antagonists to each other before things get more heated and exciting.

They are my favorite X-Men Couple! This can either be set Pre X-Men or Current X-Men. Logan and Ro can be teachers at Xavier's or perhaps on their own. I think having them be teachers would be a ton of fun! Helping train the new generation while settling into a SOL on their own. If we can throw in the occasional adventure all the better!

Cloak/Dagger

Cloak and Dagger is another couple I've been long interested in but have never had the chance to do. I like the idea of light and dark intertwining (in both their powers and bodies) regarding Cloak and Dagger. I think their origin story (runaways kidnapped off the street and experimented on) would be fun to play out, especially in a place like New York City.

Frank Castle's been through a lot of stuff over the years. After waging a one-man war on the mob to avenge his dead wife and children, the mission is "over". What was once rage has now been replaced with sadness and an unshakable truth.

Killing them didn't make him feel any better.

Frank Castle is alone; most of the superhero community hates him because of his brutal ways, and they don't associate with him. He's short on friends, and all his enemies are six feet in the ground. Frank decides it's time to retire and fakes his death.

He moves out to a western town. It could have a ranch or something similar. Either way, as he settles with these people, he catches a woman's interest within the town. This OC can be whomever you want—daughter of the Ranch, Single Mother of the Ranch, someone in town, ect ect.

She should be able to understand and not even mind Frank's Violent ways. Because later in the story, I would like something to happen that brings back the old Punisher. Some sort of attack or something.

My thougths on... Spider-Gwen 2015B (afterword)

It was sad to see this run come to an end but man has it been a blast reading it. This story has really resonated with me a lot on a very personal level. Spider-Gwen has been a fav character of mine for a long time but after atsv & this comic she has become my favorite character in all of fiction. I absolutely love her complexity, how she stands in life, her relatability, how scaringly similar her struggles feel. She's someone i identify with on a very deep & personal level. It was a blast reading this and i can't wait to read the rest of her comics. For those reading my countless and endlessly long essays on this run, thank you <3 Some random notes before i wrap this up: MJ & Gloria are dating! I was SO EXCITED when they revealed this because i really felt the romantic tension between those two so hard during the Mary Janes focussed issue #23. I was really hoping they'd get together but i'd never expected them to follow up on it so i'm really glad they did. They're so cute together! Gwen-617 is a super interesting character and there is a lot more to her than what i've talked about, they imply some really interesting things about her and it seems to tie into the watcher sidestoryline that has been going on. I will say i didn't really like the watcher stuff in this arc. But man there is so much more to Gwen-617 i could write an entire essay on it. But that's for another time!

Loved that last kintsugi chapter! I was actually suspecting Matt because of the title (familiar face II) and oh boy he is very persistent and so in character. I love it. I admit that I'm weak for Peter Matt interactions so all this near meetings make me really happy! Not Frank though. He's definitely not happy about it and idk how he's going to convince Matt not to chase Peter down and talk to him after being so close to him when he's like this.

Frank's going to have to worry about stalker lawyers for sure.

Really cute how Frank was trying to help Peter with Michelle with the whole "hold her bag" he's officially adopted him omg Peter is in for the long haul here and he probably won't like how Frank's going to keep being overprotective (well, normal protective because being a vigilante is really not a good thing for a kid)

Also I love how you write MJ she's great. Every character in the fic is great tbh I love all your characterizations

This has been half-answered in my drafts for MULTIPLE CHAPTERS and i am so very sorry that i didn’t answer sooner. 

MJ’s like one of my favorite characters of all time and I LOVE zendayas take on her and could write an entire essay on why. She’s so fun to write I love her soooo much it’s just peak weird girl energy. A lot of people seem to not like her because she’s not like the original Mary Jane model but i could write another entire essay on why she’s an entirely plausible multiversal product of the same core traits. I love her so much. She’s my absolute favorite MJ and MJ’s one of my favorite characters so it’s just fantastic

Franks so funny to me he’s like already accepted the fact that peters too stupid to live and too smart to not find the trouble he’s looking for and he’s going to have to be on babysitting until it’s peters wedding day. meanwhile peters still trying to puzzle out the moral implications of having the punisher be within ten feet of him for an extended period of time.

The Matt in the first step of kintsugi is one of my favorite versions of matt and it makes me sad that we don’t see too much of him. I’ve spoken a little bit in other posts about why that is, but I still wish i could have him be more present here. He’s such an intensely lonely person, and I think the interesting thing about him right now is that he is so much less lonely than he used to be. Like, this version of Matt has always been desperate for community. With Foggy and Karen, he has extremely close family for the first time in really ever. Not even his dad knew about his abilities, but Karen and Foggy know that and more than anyone else in the world. but they still don’t really have that connection of knowing what it’s like to have powers, and matt’s still isolated in that respect. 

***mild spoilers for the defenders below this***

This matt has a very complicated relationship with the defenders, mostly because i’m utterly convinced that it’d be awkward as hell following that finale. They’re absolutely friends and they would all go to bat for each other, but there’s still some lingering uneasy undercurrents left over from the building collapse. It’s not the right part in the story to bring them up (I have an aside from Luke Cage’s POV following the Accords drama that’s along the same vein as glaze defects and porcelain chips that I’m still writing that I think is a better place to deal with the defenders’ complicated relationships with each other). I will say that Matt is a bit more isolated from the rest of the group because of it, and things are still extremely tense between Karen and Foggy and the Defenders, so matt’s sort of the child of divorce in the center. As a result, he still has a few walls up with them, and not a single one of them know the truth about Stick (that’s not exactly because of the building collapse--he more feels weird bringing Stick up. It’s sort of a huge trauma for him that he doesn’t disclose lightly, and also Stick had been treated a bit more like “wise old colleague” while working with the Defenders and not “serial child abuser.” his abuse was also low key for danny’s benefit because the chaste are technically the iron fist’s soldiers, so... it’s awkward. he has never brought it up). The other thing is that none of them really had the same experience growing up. Danny grew up in magic kungfu city and didn’t have to worry about someone using him for the superpowers he didn’t have. Luke has his own huge trauma around how he got his powers, but he got them as an adult, so the trauma is just a different kind of animal. Jess did get them as a child, but she was in a very different kind of household. She was in a highly exploitive household, but she was never exploited for her powers. her household exploited her for image’s sake, and it was a household of resources. while it was never a safe household, it did in a way protect her from being exploited in the way that matt, being bounced around the foster system with no advocates, risked every day. So jess has a lot of trauma that matt never suffered, but she also doesn’t have the trauma that still affects Matt and that matt sees the risk of in Peter. 

so the idea of peter has become this is extremely complicated thing for matt, because he represents this sort of past loneliness and isolation that matt’s for the most part moved on from, but that he sees peter is experiencing. He wants peter to have a karen and foggy. he wants peter to have someone who he can trust with all of him, including his powers. At the same time, this kid is sort of this potentiality for community that Matt has been chasing his entire life. He’s still on the off-step with the defenders. But the exploitation he thinks Peter is going through mirrors a lot of what he went through, and he sort of sees Peter as the chance to make the community he spent his entire life yearning for, and at the same time save Peter from suffering under the same loneliness. Matt’s soooo interesting to me in this and I can’t wait until I can put him and Peter together.

i read some books this year and because i can im going to talk about them. the yearly what-will-simba-attempt-to-pick-up book list is coming, i just have to decide. 2022 was a surprisingly fruitful year despite the horrifyingly devastating beginning of it (i don't think i read a single book til the end of march) and the first year i met my reading goal of 10 books a year :) in order under the cut

this was my first published erotica ever and it was fine. it's about a girl who's dad dies in a home invasion and she's understandably traumatized so she takes some sleeping pills and gets fucked by an antler demon in her sleep. not nearly as creepy as it sounds and it is to its detriment, but it's a decent thing, i just don't really vibe with erotica as i've come to find. if there's plot i don't care about the sex and if there's only sex then i don't care about the book. the antlers were cool tho.

a week to be wicked by tessa dare. 3.75 ⭐

this is a regency bodice ripper (?) where a budding geologist with her knickers in a twist cajoles a rakish viscount? earl? whomever into """"eloping""" with her so she can get a fossil up to scotland in a week. they do fuck. it was fine. the romance was nice, the characters were somewhat fun if supremely uninventive, and the whole thing was atmospheric. the mc never let up with the nit like other girls thing tho which cost it at least half a star

read it in spanish, super short, very mexican. some boy is a high school dropout working as a gardener in a luxury residential complex bc his mama forced him to and he Hates his life and wishes he could join a cartel like his brother in law and his cunt of a pregnant cousin is living in his house and taking his bed and as he's drowning in the oppressive monotony of poverty and corruption he makes friends with a fat rich kid who is addicted to porn and obsessed with his neighbor's hot trophy wife and it all ends in tragedy. i told you it was very mexican. this book was Commentary and very little else. i did not like it, but the ending hit. But also i had a gig on a complex similar like the one he works in and i gotta tell you i found the book incredibly relatable in those two hours

unequal affections by lara s. Ormiston 3.75 ⭐

or how i like to call it: going in and out of rooms, the book. this is a pride and prejudice canon divergence book where elizabeth actually accepts darcy's first proposal despite her not loving him, they go back to longbourn, she "can't say she loves him yet, honestly, it's been two days", he gets upset, exits the room. that's the book. like, it's decent fanfiction, but its best feature is how it highlights how dynamic pride and prejudice's second half is originally. i spent a good third of this book thinking oh im glad jane austen didn't do this, but it's not a bad book

project hail mary by andy weir. 4.5⭐

standard scifi and andy weir stuff. guy wakes up amnesiac in the middle of nowhere, space shoved inside a spacecraft and as he regains bits of his memory he remembers there are tiny alien microbes eating the sun back home and HE is the hero supposed to Save The Day. except he doesn't remember shit and his crew died on the way. fun stuff. the science bits were massively interesting, albeit clunky at times. the relationship between the leads was incredibly heartwarming, though, and i thought the ending was lovely

morning glory milking farm by c.m. nascosta. 3.75 ⭐

this was my second erotica i purposefully read for the sex on it and it was an improvement but my favourite bits were the romance so like, take that as you will. in this book mythological creatures have fallen prey to capitalism and modernity so the mc lands a job where she has to jerk off minotaurs on the daily bc their sperm has useful enzymes or something and there's one minotaur who particularly enjoys it so they date. not much of a plot besides the romance, but they were cute. funny to think about like, the fur. it's really not as crazy as people made it out to be, though. (edit: the jerking off is voluntary btw my mans goes there on his lunch break)

half a soul by olivia atwater. 4 ⭐

aw this was a lovely little fantasy regency book about a girl who encounters a faerie when young who steals half her soul so she's very odd for most of society and has to help her cousin get a husband so they both don't end up destitute or something, and she ends up mixed in with the going ons of the ptsd ridden royal wizard man. this was very cute, and also i read it while i was reading the making of the english working class so i was quite pleased to find some horrible factory working conditions in the book for me to be like oh!! Historical accuracy!!! (minus the fae)

how high we go in the dark by sequoia nagamatsu. 4 ⭐

oh i did not like this but it's very good. it's just cloyingly heavy, and there were too many stories i simply did not care for. but they were all done so well i ended every chapter like well, but it has a point. anyway this is a scifi that basically follows the course of humanity over millennia and the development of technology, industry and human relationships mostly around the institutionalization of grief (i found this believable but silly) and it begins after a woman dies on a scientific expedition on the artic and they find the mummy of a prehistoric girl who died of a virus that begins a pandemic of alien inclination. there were some spectacular chapters, my fave being city of laughter (the illness affects primarily children at first and they die at such a rate someone decides to open an amusement park where the kids can have a good last day and die on the loop of a rollercoaster. Fucking insane.) and pig son (scientist who lost his son is researching the illness on a pig to grow viable organs and the new pig starts talking and behaving like a boy).

sea of tranquility by emily st. john mandel. 4.75 ⭐

the book i rated highest this year, but not quite a five star. i just loved the way that this was written. how the writer structured her paragraphs and chapters-- and the voices! i loved edwin and his patterns of thought. this a book that also happens in centuries, but instead of humanity, it follows three people (a man exiled to canada in the turn of the century, a woman from a moon colony giving the last book tour on earth and a man with an aimless life in that same colony centuries afterwards) that are connected by an odd moment in time, like a glitch. i felt like it did what how high we go in the dark attempted but much better bc it was more self contained. the ambiance was amazing, and if I'd liked the central character more, i probably would've given it 5 stars

comfort me with apples by catherynne m. valente. 4.5 ⭐

this was my actual favourite book of the year, bc i think about the ending and just. Lie there. i told my friend about it and we cried about the unfairness of being a woman together lol anyway this is a super short book about a perfect woman with a perfect husband living in a house too big for her whose perfect life gets interrupted when she finds a lock of hair in a drawer on her vanity that doesn't belong to her and it's not the only body part she finds. it's really creepy at times, and the ENDING man i keep thinking about one line i truly was the perfect person to read this book because i did not see the ending coming until we were already on the last chapters and i frankly think this is a splendid little book it dragged a little at the middle but i think upon reread knowing the full context it'd be spectacular

dark matter by blake crouch. 4 ⭐

this was a fine book, but i think my disappoinment with it stems from the fact it was advertised to me as extremely fucked up and creepy and, like, it wasn't. in theory, it's a strong concept — a "failed" scientist gets kidnapped and forcefully sent into a parallel universe where he's a successful awarded man but he only wants to get back to his family and has to brave the multiverse that his doppelganger created access to. he finds a lot of shit, there's some mildly fucked up scenarios, but none of it is truly scary. the voice of the mc is very much, like, white male, tho. it did bother me. also everyone in this book is white which added to my disappoinment. as a scifi it works tho, as a multiverse is okay

i guess this counts as erotica but like, don't. it's bad. i read it in a feverish half hour to stall my growing panic attack while in the middle of writing a final paper, and like, the corniness did shock me into calmness. it's 26 pages of a pair of incestuous brothers living in the woods, how they get together and start eating people. a tiktok got me in the exact right moment and i suffered for it mfs were so fuckin corny 🙄

book lovers by emily henry. 4 ⭐

this was my last book of the year and a nice surprise. i avoided this novel because i was afraid it'd be too self referential (i hate writers writing writer characters, which i know is hypocritical but they never do it right), but it was quite alright. it's almost a hallmark movie parody about a ruthless literary agent and a book editor who have a "rivalry" (they're, like, barely acquaintances, let alone enemies) and find themselves in the same little town for a month. everybody says this authors writes the same characters and i can't tell you if she does, but they have very good chemistry. the book is more about the mc and her relationship with her sister, which i enjoyed. overall a nice wrap up to the year.

oh i've always been a mj girlie like loved her in the raimie movies (i will always support messy girls they are fun and cute) adored her in the comics and cartoons like that is my girl through and through

so when zendaya was announced to be playing mary jane i was hyped as hell (she is the reason i cried because i couldn't have knee high converses ... her impact truly) so when the michelle switch up happend i was really pissed off because her would absolutely devour a role like comic!mj

but i don't see michelle as a new character or love interest truly she is a variant of mary jane watson ... MJ is MJ regardless (they better be giving her true mj treatment going forward)

she literally had 3 minutes in homecoming but she had such a big impact like all of her scenes were so funny and memorable like her throw away one-lines really had me obsessed ... her little blue streak in her hear yeah that's my bestie

but she was so unapologetic in her weirdness like which was so comic!mj of her. she is an activist which i just adore like she could be such a fun reinvention of mary jane so i need them to step up.

Her little voicemails she left peter were so cute to me because she was genuinely trying to help and connect with him she is so awkward like it is genuinely funny

i love that michelle is really smart, has like a billion interests that she draws people for comedic effect and even though she is really blunt she is never mean on purpose. She just calls the situation as is which i love.

Ooooh this is a very interesting question!! One of my biggest critics of nwh is that it really demotes its female characters, like MJ gets damseled (which really isn't the end of the world for her character, her character arc is about learning to open up and trust people so damselling works but it being service of Andrew's Peter not so much) and Aunt May gets fridge, turning her into uncle ben really isn't the feminist power move people think it is. So bringing in the other MJ and Gwen could be a way to fix this.

so like here's the thing, most of the villains died in the other movies, so it makes total sense that Gwen could come back (And Andrew's Peter would fucking lose it when he sees her, but he can't tell her why, oh god the angst!!) and like idk I think the girls would have a good time, they could have a cute conversation about their lives like the Peters

I think that there would be some conflict and confusion at first, but MJ and Gwen Stacy are really good friends in the comics. Raimi mj has been through a lot, but I do think she and Peter could make things work and she could be the cool mom of the girls while Gwen and mcu mj are giving dumb college kid energy

Also I kinda get carried away and outlined a fic/script rewrite so that's under the cut

Okay so here's how I think it could go down. Doc Strange tells Peter that in addition to the villains, other people who pose no material threat aside from being from another universe have been pulled into their reality. Peter tasks MJ and Ned with finding them and they have a cute little b-plot of tracking down "other universe thems" (would this fuck with the pacing and tension of the movie? yes absolutely, but here's the thing I care more about MJ and Gwen than I do about Peter) There's a montage of MCU mj talking to other people that look like her, but obviously they're all dead ends. Eventually, the doctor strange little tracker device goes off and she turns the corner to see two women viciously arguing.

MJ taps them on the shoulder and asks "are either of you Michelle Jones?" They both share a look and their faces soften when they see these kids.

"Mary Jane, actually, but you can call me MJ."

"Gwen Stacy, but just Gwen is fine, no abbreviations necessary."

Ned says, "So...do you two know a Peter Parker?"

Mary Jane and Gwen do a dramatic groan in perfect sync, freeze then burst into laughter.

"I'll take that as a yes," Michelle says.

MJ and Ned explain what's going on with the multiverse.

"Oh..." Gwen says, "that was actually my second guess."

"What was your first?"

"Peter rebounded to a cougar after I left for Oxford."

MCU Mj and Ned bring Mj and Gwen back to Doctor Strange's basement and they both coo over how small this Peter is. Raimi mj says that he's what her kid will look like and Gwen gasps, "wait you're pregnant? You and Peter made it work?"

Raimi mj explains that their relationship got off to a rocky start, but once Peter was honest about Spider-Man and she gave him more space to be a hero and they talked through the events of sm3 (i.e forgiving him for making mistakes under the influence of the symbiote) they made it work. It's hard, superhero stuff complicates life, but it's worth it.

MCU mj punches her Peter on the shoulder. "Yeah dork, superhero stuff is complicated." Peter frowns and she punches him again. "But it's worth it."

The rest of the events of nwh happen but instead of MJ and Ned finding the other Peter's accidentally through the sling ring, other MJ and Gwen are tasked with finding their own Peters and bringing them to help mcu Peter. Raimi MJ and Peter get to do the upside-down kiss again but this time, MJ pulls his mask all the way off and he flips to the ground to hug her and she does a little "hey tiger"

Gwen is wandering around New York and she sees her Peter, she grabs him and pulls him into a tight alley (there's shadows that make it look like the closet scene, you know the scene I'm talking about). She's smiling at Peter until she sees his face which is just so broken. "Peter, what's wrong?" "Nothing I just haven't seen you since...you went to Oxford." "Well, I'm not at Oxford now." Honestly just let Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone improv a scene, their chemistry is off the charts.

Everything else happens exactly the same except instead of Andrew's Peter saving MCU mj, it's the other mj and Gwen grabbing her hands and pulling her back to safety. (Although Andrew's Peter can web them all to the scaffolding and tell them to be careful by the edges)

At some point, there needs to be a scene of them talking about forming a band (because that's a thing in the spider gwen universe and also a play on the other peters thinking the avengers are a band)

1) MJ. I loved her so much, my sweet girl. So supportive, so understanding. The best girlfriend Peter ever had really. I don't want Gwen or Mary Jane to be the endgame, I want her to back in Peter's life somehow. People don't talk enough about how good she was in this movie. Same with Ned, though they went with more comic relief in his case.

2) Final scene. Because after three movies we finally got real Spider-man that we all loved: selfmade hero with the full understanding of responsibility he has. He even got DIY suit *tears*

3) How characters from the same universes know each other, because they lived in one city at the same period. Some movies forget to connect character with each other even on this level.

4) Andrew Garfield. I love him. I am so happy we all finally understood how good his Spider-man and Peter was. He owned every scene he was in, even overwhelming fans' favorite Tobey (who was good too).

5) I love how both Tobey and Andrew Peter's were same and very different. They understood each other instantly at some moments, but at the same time they have a very different vibe to them: Tobey being more relaxed and in peace with himself, while Andrew was raw emotions most of the time.

6) Aunt May's characterisation, in terms of her trying to heal and help people, even when others give up on them. I can see Peter taking it from her and holding this as an example for the rest of the franchise.

7) Tobey's cute smile at Ned's grandma. It was cute. (Also, Ned doesn't have parents too?? 😢😢)

Thing I kinda didn't like or thought they could make better.

1) Tom Holland's Peter at the first half of the movie. Don't get me wrong, Tom is very very talented. But his Peter is so stupidly reckless, I was facepalming most of the times. Even without uncle Ben storyline, some of his actions were just... Dumb.

2) How movie showed the "face revealing" problem. I get it, not getting into MIT sucks and all that, but seriously? That is the main problem? Not bad people hunting after Spider-man, or Aunt May being kidnapped or anything really life threatening (beside bad guys appearing from other universes)? Some bad press, three minutes of aggressive crowd and paint on his suit and that's it? I get it, it was hard for him someway, but was it really that bad to actually erase memory of whole human population? The movie even pointed at the stupidity of this, and pointing once again how reckless MCU Peter is. Maybe that was the main idea, but it made me want to bitch slap Peter and actually dislike him at some moments.

3) Even though Andrew and Tobey's entrance was fun and cute, I thought there was a better way to do it.

4) I felt like they didn't quite know themselves what tone to set to this movie. They definitely wanted to go dark, but at the same time they knew that people like jokes and somehow it created some dissonance for me.

5) This movie was very very very predictable. Sorry. Maybe it's just me, but I wanted it to give me more in term of "exceed the expectations". Personally I would have changed some fanservice for "NO WAY" moments. First move had an interesting twist at the end, the second one managed to show the illusions on the level where even the audience didn't know where it ends. This one didn't have any moments like this.

Overall it was a good movie, but it was relying on fanservice so much, that it actually forget to make the story even better. It will definitely pass the "cinema test" (when movie looks good on big screen for the first time), but I feel like after watching it two-three times the flaws will appear bigger.

It could have been better, it could have been the best movie for Spider-Man. And that's the most bitter part of it.

I’ve been thinking about the development (or lack thereof) of characters who were MEANT to be the protagonist’s endgame, specifically because they were meant to be their endgame and so their writing was risk-averse, and now I think that the reason Mary Jane was so well developed was because of the constant shipper/non-shipper tug of war, which made her writing extremely risky.

Stan: So clearly Gwen will be Peter’s wife, but first we have to get them together. Let’s do it with style - a love triangle! We’ll finally introduce that Mary Jane girl of the “great personality”, but make her gorgeous. Peter will be interested in her, but ultimately realize that it’s Gwen he wants to be with! We’ll make her a shallow party girl, so that she’ll be instantly charming, but tedious in the long term.

Fans: OMG Mary Jane’s so great! I totally identify with her! She’s such a breath of fresh air! And she’s really friendly, too! She and Peter should get together, they’d contrast so well!

Stan: Um, no! Did you miss the part where she’s a flake who doesn’t really care about Peter but only about having fun?

Fans: It’s so cool to see a female character who’s not always waiting on her man! Oh my, my elders always assume I’m an airhead too just because I’m with the times, I so identify!

Stan: *razzle razzle* Well, Peter’s with Gwen and Mary Jane’s gone now! AND she got an ugly hairdo before she left!

Fans: oh ew

Stan: Yeaaaah, we knew the hair trick would work.

Fans: no, change it back.

Stan: You know what? I’m a nice guy. She’s been dating Harry, Peter and Gwen have been together for over a year now, so there’s no way you’ll prefer her now, is there? Sure, she can come back, with her old hair, too.

Fans: Oh, I remember why I liked her so much! She’s so great! She and Peter should be together!

Stan: ... did I mention how she constantly puts down Gwen, the ACTUAL leading lady, and flirts with Peter even though they’re both in a relationship with other people.

Fans: Oh, yes, I really wish I knew more about her so I could understand her better!

Stan: ...... and how about the fact that she blows off Harry when he says she’s his girl...

Fans: Hot girl shit.

Stan: ... when Harry’s been doing drugs, specifically to get his mind off of her, and he overdoses after she says that.

Fans: ... yikes.

Stan: And she keeps it up, both the relationship and the flirting with Peter, after Harry gets back from the hospital.

Fans: We already said yikes!

Stan: Good. My job’s done. You can take it from here, Gerry.

Gerry Conway: Hi :) First of all, let me tell you guys about how worried Mary Jane feels that Harry relapsed, which happened because of the pressure his father put on him. Next, there’s this bridge...

Fans: ... dude. 

Gerry: ... and this door. And Mary Jane stays with Peter even though things aren’t easy or fun anymore. Now let me tell you about her mysterious reluctance to get attached, but how they grow as friends until they’re on the cusp of becoming more (check out that airport kiss!)...

Fans: Ooohhh, okay, this is good.

Gerry, with a red laser dot in his forehead from the sniper Stan’s hired: ... and then Gwen comes back.

Fans: wut? (Some of them: I specifically asked you not to do this!)

Gerry: (She’s a clone!) And Mary Jane feels dejected because Peter seems to have forgotten her in favor of Gwen (even though Peter’s been avoiding her, too, mostly dealing with Spider-Man stuff), but hides it behind a cheerful, party-girl veneer. By the way, between this and the “I don’t want to love him”, doesn’t this make you wonder what else she might be hiding and why?

Fans: I do! I do wonder! Are you gonna tell me?

Gerry: No ;) Anyway, stuff happens, they get together (there’s another door... and a little extra ;)) and Peter is convinced that he’s not a clone because he loves her so completely. Ciao.

Len Wein: A cute couple, yes. A realistic one, too. Mary Jane won’t take Peter constantly ditching her quietly and, after making her displeasure clear to him many times, she takes to cuddling it up with Flash, once more pulling the same “you’re not the only fish in the sea” routine, as Peter calls it, from when they’d first met, only with a vengeance. She’s also messing with Flash by doing this, since he’s assuming that she and Peter weren’t that serious and isn’t aware that he’s hurting his friend by hanging on with his girlfriend.

Fans: Hey, that’s not cool!

Len: No, but nobody’s perfect and it’s already been established that this is how Mary Jane is. However, one thing’s different: she genuinely cares about Peter this time, and probably also Flash, so, after getting chewed out, she and Peter talk things out. Neither of them are fully grown, but they’re growing together...

(Stan, in the newspaper strip: You might have a point there...)

Marv Wolfman: ... then Peter proposes to Mary Jane, she says no and fucks off to LA. 

Fans: Oh, come on!

Roger Stern: I hear ya! Now she’s back! By the way, check out her sister, huh? 

Fans: Who?!

Roger: Ok, bye!

Tom DeFalco, rushing in: Her sister! From her tragic backstory that gives added depth to her actions up til now, giving more meaning to all the positives (that now look like progress and victories against her trauma) but also her negatives, adding motive and sympathy for her, without coddling her. She confides in him this story that almost no one’s aware of to get even because she reveals that she’s known he’s Spider-Man for a while now.

Fans: ... give me a minute... ok, then, when’s the wedding?!

(Stan: Funny you should ask...)

Christopher Priest: NEVER. It’s not happening! Here, look at them doing couple stuff while refusing to believe that they’re a couple. Now they’ll kiss and be horrified about it because it exposes the lie they’d been telling themselves about the nature of their relationship. They’ll come together at the end when MJ offers a friendly ear to Peter, thus showing how bad they are together!

David Michelinie: ... so they’re dating, even when it looks like they aren’t, which makes this seemingly out-of-nowhere marriage proposal make sense.

Like, without some writers going “DON’T SHIP HER WITH PETER SHE’S AWFUL” and others going “oh, but I do, so now I’ll try to develop her into someone who could be with Peter”, which meant exploring the reasons for her initial awfulness, which already made her a bit more complex, in ways that also added depth to her character, allowing her a path of growth, and resonated with the main theme of responsibility, she wouldn’t have been such a great character.

You've talked a lot about the Spidey romances and I really love the nuance and LOVE that shines through every time, regardless of the dynamic. I was wondering if MJ's had a love interest outside of Peter? (I love PeterMJ and am a GwenMJ believer but I meant officially). I do get people who think they've had their time in the sun and want Peter with Fel or Johnny or someone else, and I was curious about MJ's side. She's the last person that NEEDS to be with someone, but I think it would be neat if she really had her turn outside of the soulmatism, too. In a 'Gwen taught me to stay, Peter taught me not all relationships are cages' way. How would that even go down, even if Peter's with someone else too, you know?

In terms of "official" love interests, MJ has had other boyfriends but they've been pretty limited in terms of appearances, and then there have been men who have pursued her but who she's ultimately eschewed. I think by nature of things being from Peter's perspective, we're so limited in what we see of some other characters' lives. She did have a firefighter love interest during Superior Spider-Man, but I think he's the only one I remember who was given any sense of real presence instead of just being some guy MJ dated for an issue. (Aside from Harry in college, anyway.)

Oh, fun fact, though -- Batman tried to get Mary Jane to call off her wedding.

Okay, so you are very different compared to the large number of characters on the boardwalk. Your style consisted of button shirts, sweaters or turtle necks, dress pants or a plaid pleated skirts, cardigans or waistcoats, oxford shoes or even wire framed glasses if you wore them for seeing or just for the look. 

To say that you caught the boys attention would be an understatement. You seemed to stand out amongst the crowd and they became curious. You were a mystery to them and they love the challenge. 

Somehow, someway, after days or weeks later, you became good friends which soon lead to you dating four trouble making punks. It was tough on both parts, but it happened, and hey, you weren’t complaining. 

You were very blunt when you first met them, not really interested in them and more or less interested in the book in your hands. It took a lot of “accidental” run ins to even get you to hang out with them. 

You slowly opened up when they offered to take you out for dinner at a local diner. They’re constant joking soon had you letting out small, almost whisper-like giggles and tiny smiles that sent them into a frenzy. 

When you would start talking about yourself, your ideas of fun were different from theirs. You liked museums, opera houses, bookstores and going to theaters to see plays. The games you played were chess and cards, and the music you listened to was old. You were pretty sure they thought you were boring but you actually peaked their interest. 

After a while of being friends with them, they asked you out. You liked them and the only logical step was to see if you liked them the same way they liked you was to date them, so you said yes. 

In general, them having a girlfriend with a 1940s/1950s dark prep look was fun. David and Dwayne like it the most. Paul next, then Marko. 

David actually really likes picking out your clothing on most days. You have an extensive collection of clothing with material from cashmere to linen, all the colors consisting of browns, black, cream and even a little dark green. 

His favorite thing to put you in is trench coats. Doesn’t matter what color it is, he just likes seeing you in them. Also, there are a handful of times that he has MADE you wear his trench coat. Yeah it almost swimmed on you, but he thought it made you look cute and it fit in perfectly with your look. 

Dark academia isn’t only your style, but it’s your way of life. David is the one that plays chess with you. You had to reteach it to him and pretty soon, the two of you had your own little set up in the cave that was always ready for a game of chess. 

David is sort of like you… in a way when it comes to others feelings. But deep down he knows that he really likes you and tries to show it the best he can. He took you to a theater to see a play that you were constantly talking about and so he took you on a date. You being you, didn’t realize that’s what it was until he told it straight to your face. Let’s just say you were speechless for the next hour. 

Also, when it’s just the two of you, deep inside the cave where your nest is, classical music is playing from your record player. It could be Beethoven, Tchaikovsky or Mozart. Whoever it is, David is the one that will listen to it with you the most. I think he really enjoys classical music and he enjoys it even more if the two of you are cuddling in your bed. 

Occasionally Dwayne would join the two of you. You would be sitting in between David’s legs as Dwayne sat in between yours, his head leaning back against your chest. It was like a cuddle pile… cuddle train?? Whatever you wanted to call it, it was cuddling while the three of you relaxed listening to classical music. And it was darn cute. 

Dwayne loves listening to you go on and on about any books you were reading at the moment. Whether or not it was nonfiction or even about any type of history. He was down. He lived through a lot and he knew about half of the stuff you gushed on about, but for some odd reason, it never bored him when you talked about it. 

He would be the one to get you new books, leaving you sweet little notes tied to them. Of course you thought it was just him being nice and thanked him for it without thinking there was any romantic meaning behind it. Yeah he was one of your boyfriends but it never really crossed your mind that way. He would just shake his head at your obliviousness and give you a small peck on the lips. 

Don’t ask him why, but his favorite look on you is a light cream colored blouse with a plaid skirt and Mary Jane shoes. Dwayne is a leg man so… he’s very happy when decide to show off some skin if you decide not to wear knee-socks or stockings with it. Even if you did wear them, he would still be attached to your side the entire night. 

Like David, Dwayne would bring you out to a lot of places that were opened late at night. If there was an art exhibition in town or even a museum that was open late, just say the word and he will happily drive you on his bike. Heck, David might even tag along. 

Also, late night bookstore dates… oh my heart, it’s too sweet it hurts. There are times that he does have to throw you over his shoulder when the bookstore is closing and you're pretty much refusing to leave. When he does that, you just stay frozen over his shoulder, not knowing if you should be blushing or cursing at him for carrying you like a sack of potatoes. 

If anything, you and Dwayne connect very well. You’re naturally very quiet and so is he. Not much is said between you two but there's a mutual understanding that can’t be explained. While the others are out causing trouble, you and him are on the sidelines watching hand in hand or your reading and he's just staring at you as you do so. 

Paul and Marko kind of give you whiplash. They’re loud and rowdy and definitely 100% opposite from you. But they interested you. They had a very chaotic outlook on life which made you ask many questions. 

Paul found your look sexy. He’s horny and you give off preppy school vibes, he’s living for it 24/7. Constant teasing of you giving him ‘private lessons’ which results with you whacking a book against the back of his head. But it doesn’t stop the reddening of your ears which doesn’t make him stop.  

This man is also your designated jewelry expert. You only wear some accessories and they're very simple. So you are very surprised when Paul finds you jewelry that is your style and collects it for you. You like leather watches, guess what, he’s got it for you. You want some fancy victorian looking brooches, he’s got that too. Simple rings with a single jewel in the middle, expect constant ‘will you marry me’ jokes, but he gets you the best.

Also, he’s not overly big into your music selection. He does try to get you into his type of music, which you only like very few and far between. But when you do get him to listen to your type of music, it’s only if you agree to listen to his music the next night. You guys come up with a system and decide to switch every few nights. 

Each of the boys have their favorite look on you and Paul's is when you wear a button-up of any color with a simple black tie, a pencil skirt and a pair of Dr.Marten boots. He especially likes the tie… for reasons. God damn it, you know the reasons, get out of here. 

He’s a very affectionate boy and he finds your looks over confusion some of the cutest shit he’s ever seen. Probably the first one to tell you that he loves you and you honestly like glitched out. Did you feel the same way? Yes, but poor little thing you doesn’t say it right away, but Paul knows that you aren’t really used to saying things like that without warming up to it. Which is okay. He knows even if you don’t say it. 

He definitely steals one of your blazers to put pins on it. Marko helps, putting a few patches on it that they both know you would like. It’s the one item that stands out in all of your clothing and you will wear it if they ask you to. 

Marko definitely thinks the look is cute and it suits you very well, but why no color?! You wear dark colors but nothing bright like the colors that are on his jacket. He tries to slip in some colorful clothing into your everyday look, it never goes as planned but you give him an A for effort. 

He loves how dark you can be at times though. You want to go to a local graveyard just because? Sure! Let’s go! He’s your designated graveyard buddy. You have many date nights there, looking at all the different gravestones and finding it interesting when you jot down some names in one of your notebooks. 

Speaking of notebooks, you have many of them. They were filled with notes from books you’ve read, real life observations or even just some random poetry and short stories that you wrote. Marko would go through them a lot and even sometimes draw little doodles or rough sketches that were thought up from your writings. 

When you spend nights down at the Boardwalk, your go to drink isn’t a slushie or a milkshake or even a soda. It’s coffee or tea. Yeah, and only Marko knows your drink orders by heart. None of the others seem to remember them correctly which you thank them for trying but Marko has got them all beat. 

Marko likes seeing you in sweaters and in your trousers or linen shorts with chelsea boots. If anything, when the two of you are alone, just wearing a knit sweater and shorts were perfect for him. He likes how cozy and warm you look. He’s very happy when he cuddles you and you are warm. 

Now when they tell you that they’re vampires, you think that they’re joking. Vampires aren’t real, they’re a work of fiction. Yes there was a real man named Dracula, but there was no way that they were actual vampires. 

Then they showed you hard proof and then there was no denying it at that point. Instead of running away, you were fascinated. You wanted to understand your boyfriends vampire ways that lead to you conducting extensive research and a notebook dedicated to them. 

They showed you everything about them, how they feed, to which you didn’t bat an eyelash of watching them feed one night. You were one morbid chick but they saw that as a plus that you didn’t react. You had graveyard dates for crying out loud, nothing really surprised them at that point.

Flying came next and they had a lot of fun showing you just how high they could go with you in their arms. You never screamed at the height, you were too caught up in seeing the overhead view of the town. You could get used to seeing a view like that every night.  

Then came the other things; how they slept before you came along, what actually hurt them and what didn’t. There was one time that you stared at their vampire faces for hours because you were taking notes on how their facial features changed. 

Soon you had to stock up on more turtlenecks because of the many bite marks they would leave behind from feeding on you if the weather was bad one night. It wasn’t tough adapting to their occasional feeding. A lot of your clothing already covered up your skin so it was easy to hide from people on your nights out. 

Not too long after, they popped the question. Would you want to be a vampire? Live forever, never grow up? Be with them for all eternity? You didn’t really need to think about it for too long, you knew what your answer was and so did they even if you didn’t say it out loud. You loved your boys and not much would change.

When you did change, it was entertaining for them to watch. You soon started taking down notes about your progress, comparing and contrasting your experience to their own. 

To the eyes of many, you became even more dark and mysterious. You had an aura around you that drew people in, it’s what got you your four vampire boyfriends, only now, it brought in your meal for the night.
