OK hear me out, what if universes like All The Young Dude, Only The Brave, Crimson Rivers, ect were all linked together like the MCU based on parallel universes and James for some magical reason (script magic you know) became able to remember his parallel lives ????? And what if he decided to do everything in his power to save the people he loved in those universes ???? I NEED IT.

Regulus: *writing some sadboi poetry per usual*

Sirius: *blasting Maneskin*

Regulus: doesn't really give a shit*

Remus: *trying to read, with headphones on*

James: *pacing the room while rambling to himself about a new theory*

Peter: *preventing Marlene from burning down the kitchen*

Marlene: *lights up all the fucking plants for fun*

*Mary: *making DIY stuff out of her old clothes*

Dorcas: *just vibing with Reg, sketching*

Pandora: *watching the chaos ensue while she tries to touch the fire*

Barty: *smoking then intentionally throwing it on the plants to worsen the fire*

Evan: *staring at the ceiling, lying in the living room with a bottle of vodka in his hands*

Lily: *trying to ignore everything but gives up and cusses at every single one of them.*

the Marauders on a road trip

Remus: either driving or in the back middle away from everyone with Regulus, tries to stay away from James + Sirius and Barty + Evan

Peter: Enjoys looking out of the window, probably gets carsick, has all of the snacks and shares them with everyone, in charge of food + drinks

Sirius: Passenger Princess if Remus is driving and forces Remus to put his hand on his leg, in charge of Music, if not in the front he will be in the middle with James, giggling and playing stupid car games (I spy and such) He definitely takes his shoes off and puts his feet in people's faces

James: annoys people on purpose, cracking jokes with Sirius, constantly asking if they are there yet, desperate to stop and stretch his legs every half hour, good driver but doesn't drive long (he got them lost)

Lily: Good driver, but also good navigator, less annoying, sits with Remus and Reg on the back seat, but also joins in the gossip

Mary: Gossips. She's talking non-stop. Also a passenger princess but only if Lily is driving, has her feet up, arm out of the window, looks amazing to say they probably only got 3 hours of sleep before Evan and Barty woke them with a metal pot and spoon

Marlene: asleep on Dorcas, probably with her mouth open + drooling, curled up on a seat, watches movies

Dorcas: makes sure Marlene doesn't get cold, wakes her up for food, joins in some of the games + Gossip

Pandora: Fun facts about the most random shit, points out plants and animals to everyone else, navigates, Lily's 2nd passenger princess

Evan: Snores really loud (on purpose), farts to annoy everyone (Barty thinks it's hilarious), won't shut up either, joins in the Games

Barty: complains about the seats being uncomfortable and sits on Evan instead, keeps asking "Are we there yet", joins the games and joins Pandora with the fun facts (his aren't as fun but more disturbing)

Regulus: fed up. In the back seat with Remus (but at the window), secretly wants to be James' Passenger Princess but he doesn't want to ask, sleeps + listens to his own music. Contemplating his entire life decisions and why he agreed to come on the trip (we only wanted to share the bed with James)

Lily was the first to figure it out. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise, after all she was known for coming in first in all her classes.

When James didn’t bother her for a week she thought he was planning something big. When he didn’t bother her for a month she thought he was finally giving up. When he showed up two months later with an apology, that’s when she knew.

He was over her. Fully and truly. Cause when James loved someone he loved them with his whole heart - which meant he had moved on to a new target.

So it doesn’t come as a surprise that when she goes into the potion room after hours to work on her extra credit assignment, she finds James making out with someone instead.

“So you do know where the potions room is.”

The happy couple jumps apart and James turns a sheepish look at her. That’s when Lily finally gets a good look at who James was with.

Black curly hair, regal features, slytherin tie.

She raises an eyebrow. “You never took things the easy way did you?”

James groans as Regulus laughs.

Lily smirks at Regulus. “Him going after you, I get. But you? You voluntarily chose him?”

“It was a lapse in judgement”

“Hey-“

They both ignore James.

It’s the start of a beautiful friendship.

Alright! So I finished hand binding Crimson Rivers by @mayzarbewithyou :) this was my first time bookbinding so excuse the mistakes I am far from great, but all in good time! This fic basically changed the trajectory of my life so I thought I’d give it the love it deserves! the spine is regulus standing looking up at the tree and he is purposely put on the last book because he finally learned how to climb and grow. I’m so emotional over the end of the fic so this is very emotional to me. I did the typeset myself and there are some cool details I’ll try to put in another post, but basically I added all of Zar’s end notes as footnotes to the specific scenes he talks about! All very fun and the dingbats match the theme for the books and the backs each have quotes the correspond. I split it into 5 just because it didn’t feel right to have the epilogues in the same book as the war. They were two completely different parts of the story so I separated them. Anyways I’ll make another post. This was a labor of love and I hope I did it Justice :)
