la magie de la science et de la nature

Ces derniers temps, l’environnement est mis en avant à cause du réchauffement climatique. C’est pour cela que des artistes comme Marylou ou encore Karine Bonneval, on voulut mélanger cette nature avec leurs arts et ainsi impacter les gens. Toutefois cet art technologique mêlé à la nature à ses avantages tout comme ses inconvénients. 

Tout d’abord, nous pouvons aborder l’exposition à Corbeil-Essonnes « les bestioles électroniques » de Marylou qui consiste à faire écouter des chants d’oiseaux synthétisés. Ces chants s’activent si on s’approche devant des capteurs de présence, des tensiomètres ou encore d’autres capteurs. Dans cette « boite noire, » il y a des fils qui parcourent tout cet espace, dont certains colorés. Cependant à cause de tous ces technologies étant donné qu’elle est très fragile, il est possible de tout détruire. On peut donc faire une analogie entre son innovation et la réalité, c’est-à-dire qu’il est facile de détruire un écosystème rien que par notre présence. Pour autant, la technologie est un des nombreux facteurs de ce réchauffement climatique notamment avec les Datacenter implanté dans les pays nordistes.

Selon moi, c’est une très belle exposition avec des chants d’oiseaux très variés, mais malheureusement, ces oiseaux vont un jour disparaître et peut-être, on sera obligé d’écouté des chants synthétisé et non ces vrais chants qui peuvent nous égailler une journée très fatigante. 

On peut utiliser la technologie pour défendre l’environnement, mais pourquoi ne pas utiliser directement la nature pour montrer ses vertus ? 

C’est ce qu’a fait Karine Bonneval dans son exposition à Chamarande « se planter » qui consiste à faire des œuvres d’art grâce aux plantes. Elle réalise des œuvres avec des plantes comme le bouleau, les graines de tournesol ou encore des plantes carnivores. Elle a collaboré avec des scientifiques (bioacoustiques par exemple) pour montrer la puissance de la nature ainsi que l’importance de veiller aux bien-être des plantes. Par exemple, elle a réalisé un tapis, avec l’aide d’un scientifique, relier à une plante. Dans ce tapis, il y a des trous qui ressemblent à des troncs d’arbre et lorsqu’on y met les pieds, on peut ressentir les vibrations de la plante, si l’on touche des feuilles, ces vibrations deviennent plus fortes.

Il y a aussi une autre œuvre qui représente des plantes carnivore fait en sucre enfermé dans un bocal. On peut faire l’analogie entre le bocal et un cabinet des curiosités, mais aussi une plante carnivore faite en sucre qui signifie un peu la nouveauté à l’époque de la canne à sucre qui a rendu des pays pauvres en pays riche, mais aussi la plante carnivore enfermé dans une boite de transport pour pouvoir l’exposé partout.

J’ai beaucoup aimé cette exposition, car cela nous fait voir d’une autre manière la beauté des plantes et aussi qu’elle a besoin d’être présente pour nous. 

En conclusion avec ces expositions qui sont un mélange entre l’art et la nature par le biais de la technologie, car grâce à cela, elle nous permet de montrer un nouveau visage de cette nature qui est peu connu, mais aussi sur le point de disparaître à cause du réchauffement climatique.

Julien Doré, he sometimes turns poems into songs, some don't have a clear story behind them but I do especially love "Corbeau Blanc" the whole album "Love" is incredible to me, he's an indie pop singer

Stromae, obviously ! He's Belgian but since he sings in French he's very welcome here, the play on words are just incredible, he recently sang about depression and suicidal thoughts in "l'enfer" and it touched me deep, he's doing electro (he has tons of good ones, like "Papaoutai", "quand c'est", "Tous les mêmes"....

Mylene Farmer, she's around since decades and was one of the few famous singers singing in french to talk about LGBT+ subjects and she just is so goth at times, a whole vibe if you will ! I have tons of favorite from her but it's very difficult to find online...I would recommand (from all decades) : "Tristana", "Comme j'ai mal" "Je te rend ton amour" "Beyond my control" "Sans contrefaçon" "C'est une belle journée" "L'histoire d'une fée, c'est..." Mc Solaar, a true poet and rapper, "Mephisto Iblis", "Solaar Pleure", "RMI", “Da Vinci Claude”, "Caroline" (this one is a bit more sad raggae)

Eddy de Pretto, also a rapper but more singing and talking kind and more recent, he's one to break the code of “you can be gay and a rapper” in France, he's a really good one, I recommand "Kid" and "Fête de trop" from him, I need to listen to more of his work !

Orelsan, rapper friend with Stromae (they worked together a lot), he's a controversial guy because he uses characters in his songs and so he can talk with awful words but he doesn't condone them, I recommand "La pluie (feat Stromae)" , "L'odeur de l'essence", "tout va bien", "Basique", "fête de famille"

Unlocking Secrets of "Hot Saturn" and Its Spotted Star - Technology Org

Led by researchers from Université de Montréal’s Trottier Institute for Research on Exoplanets (iREx), a team of astronomers has harnessed the power of the revolutionary James Webb Space Webb Telescope (JWST) to study the “hot Saturn” exoplanet HAT-P-18 b.

Their findings, published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, paint a complete picture of the HAT-P-18 b’s atmosphere while exploring the great challenge of distinguishing its atmospheric signals from the activity of its star.

HAT-P-18 b is located over 500 light-years away with a mass similar to Saturn’s but a size closer to that of the larger planet Jupiter. As a result, the exoplanet has a “puffed-up” atmosphere that is especially ideal for analysis.

Passing over a spotted star

Observations from the JWST were taken while the HAT-P-18 b was passing in front of its Sun-like star. This moment is called a transit and is crucial to detect and further characterise an exoplanet from hundreds of light-years away with surprising precision.

Astronomers don’t observe light that is being emitted directly by the distant planet. Rather, they study how the central star’s light is being blocked and affected by the planet orbiting it, and so must try to disentangle signals caused by the presence of the planet from those caused by the star’s own properties.

Just like our Sun, stars do not have uniform surfaces. They can have dark star spots and bright regions, which can create signals that mimic a planet’s atmospheric attributes. A recent study of the exoplanet TRAPPIST-1 b and its star TRAPPIST-1 led by UdeM doctoral student Olivia Lim witnessed an eruption, or flare, on the surface of the star, which affected observations.

In the case of planet HAT-P-18 b, Webb caught the exoplanet right as it was passing over a dark spot on its star, HAT-P-18. This is called a spot-crossing event, and its effect was evident in the data collected for the new study. The iREx team also reported the presence of numerous other star spots on HAT-P-18’s surface which were not blocked out by the exoplanet.

To accurately determine the exoplanet’s atmospheric composition, the researchers had to simultaneously model the planet’s atmosphere as well as its star’s peculiarities. In their study, they point out that such consideration will be crucial in treating future exoplanet observations via the Webb to fully harness their potential.

“We found that accounting for stellar contamination implies the existence of spots and clouds instead of haze and recovers a water vapour abundance of almost an order of magnitude lower,” said lead author Marylou Fournier-Tondreau.

“So considering the system’s host star makes a big difference,” added Fournier-Tondreau, who did the work as a master’s student at iREx and is now pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Oxford.

“It’s actually the first time that we clearly disentangle the signature of hazes versus starspots, thanks to Canada’s NIRISS (Near-Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph) instrument, which provides wider wavelength coverage extending into the visible light domain.”

H2O, CO2, and clouds in a scorching atmosphere

After modelling the exoplanet and the star in the HAT-P-18 system, the iREx astronomers performed a meticulous dissection of HAT-P-18 b’s atmospheric composition. By inspecting the light that filters through the exoplanet’s atmosphere as it transits its host star, the researchers discerned the presence of water vapour (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2).

The researchers also detected the possible presence of sodium and observed strong signs of a cloud deck in HAT-P-18 b’s atmosphere, which appears to be muting the signals of many of the molecules found within it. They also concluded that the star’s surface was covered by many dark spots that can significantly influence the interpretation of the data.

An earlier analysis of the same JWST data led by a team at Johns Hopkins University had also revealed a clear detection of water and CO2, but also reported the detection of small particles at high-altitudes called hazes and found hints of methane (CH4). The iREx astronomers paint a different picture.

The CH4 detection was not confirmed, and the water abundance they determined was 10 times lower than previously found. They also found that the previous study’s detection of hazes could instead be caused by star spots on the star’s surface, highlighting the importance of considering the star in the analysis.

Could the exoplanet support life? Not likely. While molecules like water, carbon dioxide, and methane can be interpreted as biosignatures, or signs of life, in certain ratios or in combination with other molecules, HAT-P-18 b’s scorching temperatures of close to 600 degrees Celsius do not bode well for the planet’s habitability.

Future observations from another JWST instrument, the Near Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec), promise to help refine the team’s results, such as the CO2 detection, and shed even more light on the intricacies of this hot Saturn exoplanet.

As part of Blue Zoo's long-running animated short films programme, a brief was sent out to everyone in the studio to pitch an idea to tell an emotional, human story, while experimenting with the physical optics of projecting CG animation.

Blue Zoo Animation Director Ben Steer pitched the idea of Mamoon, which proceeded to win the company-wide studio vote, and went into production.

Over the next year, he directed, filmed and collaborated with other artists to make this beautiful short.

🇫🇷Hello !! Je ressuscite un instant avec une illus sorti "des cartons " car le croquis date de... Quelques carnets en arrière !

J'ai toujours eu envie de pousser cette idée mais je n'avais jamais pris le temps. Bonne résolution et voilà chose faite : mon amazone à monture pythonesque voit le jour (en couleur !)

De l’Art planté au coeur de la Science.

(je veux bien être noté si ça ne vous dérange pas)

L’association de l’Art et la Science ont ouvert un chemin vers un monde où la créativité humaine rencontre la rigueur de la méthode scientifique. Cette fusion permet aux artistes d’explorer des concepts complexes, tout en permettant aux scientifiques de s’exprimer de manière esthétique, artistique. Comme l’art permet de partager des messages, des artistes vont se servir de ce mélange de maîtrise pour exprimer leur lutte contre les actions néfastes de l’homme sur l’environnement en apportant des faits culturels sur le fonctionnement, sur les habitants et les composants de la nature.

L’alchimie de l’Art et la Science chez deux artistes modernes:

Une artiste du nom de Marylou à crée une oeuvre exposé du 8 au 30 mars à la médiathèque de Chantemerle mélangeant Art et Science. 

Comme vous l’auriez compris, Marylou est une artiste écologiste qui a usé de ses talents artistiques en collaboration avec ses passions électroniques et environnementales pour crée son oeuvre Des Bestioles Électroniques.

Son oeuvre est exposée dans une sorte de tente noir, des fils électriques étendus remplissent la pièce et relient des bocaux dans lesquels se trouvent des bandes sons et des capteurs servant à diffuser des chants d’oiseaux lors d’un mouvement rapproché. C’est elle même qui a tout installé, elle a su réaliser tout ce système grâce à ses connaissances en électronique.

À travers son art, Marylou diffuse un message clair: il faut se sensibiliser à l’extinction des oiseaux. En effet, le coeur de son oeuvre sont les enregistrements des chants d’oiseaux en voie de disparition.

Positionné au milieu de cette oeuvre, l’image que nous avions de la ville dans laquelle nous étions et de cette tente noir disparaît. Nous sommes transportés au milieu d’un jardin grâce aux chants des oiseaux, les fils électroniques deviennent des lianes, les bocaux qui les relis deviennent des arbres et des buissons, les leds de couleur bleues et vertes ne sont que le reflet des couleurs que la nature peut nous offrir. N’y a t-il pas ici une vraie association de l’Art avec la Science ?

Mais alors, associer les sciences et l’art n’est possible que avec l’électronique ?

Cette problématique est souvent une question clichée lorsque l’ont relie forcément la science à l’électronique. Voici une artiste ayant usé de la science de manière différente, il s’agit de Karine Bonneval.

Karine Bonneval à crée des oeuvres artistiques représentatives de la nature appelées Se planter en exposition au domaine départementale de Chamarande. L’artiste a crée un décor spécifique qui représente la nature sous forme différente tout en voulant crée un lien avec l’être humain. Karine Bonneval veut, à travers son oeuvre, nous sensibiliser sur les composants de la nature et ce qu’on est en train de perdre en nous rapprochant des plantes.

L’artiste a menée ses recherches à l’aide de scientifiques et philosophes afin de créer ses oeuvres de manière la plus représentative de la nature. L’artiste veut nous faire comprendre la nature, en nous poussant à mettre en oeuvre nos sens humains, elle veut que nous respirons avec les plantes, qu’on les regarde, qu’on les entendent et cela est possible grâce à la disposition et à la forme de ses oeuvres.

Comme vous avez pu le constater, ces deux artistes se sont servient de la Science à travers l’Art en faveur de l’environnement. Elles ont usé des sons de la nature afin de nous éveiller sur ce sujet, pour que nous puissions mieux comprendre les enjeux auxquels fait face la nature de manière philosophique, technique et esthétique sous forme de construction scientifique.

L’art et la science, deux mots qui sembles différents mais qui ont plus en commun que ce que l’on croit. Au contraire, ils se rejoignent souvent pour explorer les mystères de l'univers sous des perspectives différentes mais complémentaires. Deux expositions illustrent brillamment cette fusion : Bestioles électroniques de Marilou et Se planterde Karim Bonneval.

L’exposition de Karim Bonneval "Se Planter", a été présenté dans le Domain départemental de Chamarande, célèbre la diversité et la beauté de la nature, tout en intégrant des éléments scientifiques. En appuyant sur ce que l’humains a de commun avec les plantes, Ses œuvres capturent la complexité des écosystèmes, mettant en lumière les interconnexions subtiles qui maintiennent la vie sur Terre. En mêlant l'art et la science, Bonneval nous invite à réfléchir à notre relation avec la nature et à notre responsabilité envers notre environnement.

L'exposition "Bestioles Électroniques" à la médiathèque Chantemerle de Corbeil-Essonnes, de l'artiste Marylou. Artiste sonore. Elle offre une immersion fascinante dans la nature et de la technologie. Ses créations évoquent chants d'oiseaux, Chaque "bestiole électronique" sont des composants électroniques, créant ainsi des créatures mécaniques et est une reconstruction artificielle d'une espèce fragilisée de la région. Marilou défie les frontières entre l'homme et la machine, explorant les implications de plus en plus complexes de la technologie dans notre société.
