I’m glad that J.K. Rowling has never written about the marauders and that no company has made a marauders film adaptation because 1, it would be boring (and straight) and 2, what’s great about the fandom is that we made the whole thing up. Some names were mentioned once or twice in the book and we gave them full on personalities. Everyone has different opinions on different characters and I think that’s the best part of this.

Hogwarts circa 1975 had one hell of a love dodecahedron going on, let’s see…

Evan is in love with Barty, who was in love with Regulus, who is pining in secret for James, whose pining very loudly for Lily (Pandora and, sigh, Snape are also doing it, just a lot quieter), who in turn is crushing hard on Mary, who is both crushing on Marlene (who is in a heated enemies to lovers arc with Dorcas), and also casually dating Sirius, who is having a sexuality crisis and is having a very complicated will-they-or-won’t-they going on with Remus, who had a summer fling with Grant but is right now just very in love with Sirius and but will not admit it.

The students might not be having a good time, but the teachers were having a GREAT time with the amount of beats they were taking on who would end up with who (McGonagall is all beats off on Jily and WolfStar, Dumbledore officially doesn’t join but he has a soft spot for Jegulus because y’know, Grindledore, and somehow Flitwick ends up winning the most amount of galleons and no one is quite sure how he did it)

regulus' cousin is narcissa malfoy nee black.

regulus' first cousin, once removed, is draco malfoy.

in a jegulus au, i THINK this would make draco and harry second cousins. maybe.

personally, i think that's a bit odd... but it depends on how they were raised. if there was never any emphasis on them being distantly related, but they grew up together then, i guess, that's okay?

imo, id rather have jily raising harry, and harry getting with draco.

or marylily + jegulus raising harry, but regulus wasn't biologically involved..?

my biggest concern is the morals n ethics involved with dating a second cousin. i know its legal to marry them in the uk... but idk. i dont know my second cousins, so .. i dont have an opinion.

Seen a lot of posts about people unsure of commenting on fics, people if you have something nice to say please say it.

Would have given up on my fic a month ago, but instead thanks to so many nice and encouraging comments I’ve just hit over 30,000 words.

That is the longest fic I have written and it’s still going.

A friend of mine was kind enough to write an au for me as a birthday present, they admitted that they were going to give up on it but the day they went to tell me I basically told them it was one of my top fics this year. They are now still writing it.

Comments mean the absolute world to writers such as me and my friend, they are so sweet and leave me literally jumping off the fucking walls, I’m sure my friend would agree.

So please, write those comments, even if it’s just the word kudos because you have already left kudos on the fic. Even if the comment is eligible and is basically you just frothing at the mouth over how adorable the chapter is, the writer will absolutely love you for it.

Lily was the first to figure it out. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise, after all she was known for coming in first in all her classes.

When James didn’t bother her for a week she thought he was planning something big. When he didn’t bother her for a month she thought he was finally giving up. When he showed up two months later with an apology, that’s when she knew.

He was over her. Fully and truly. Cause when James loved someone he loved them with his whole heart - which meant he had moved on to a new target.

So it doesn’t come as a surprise that when she goes into the potion room after hours to work on her extra credit assignment, she finds James making out with someone instead.

“So you do know where the potions room is.”

The happy couple jumps apart and James turns a sheepish look at her. That’s when Lily finally gets a good look at who James was with.

Black curly hair, regal features, slytherin tie.

She raises an eyebrow. “You never took things the easy way did you?”

James groans as Regulus laughs.

Lily smirks at Regulus. “Him going after you, I get. But you? You voluntarily chose him?”

“It was a lapse in judgement”

“Hey-“

They both ignore James.

It’s the start of a beautiful friendship.
