The first thing she saw upon arriving to the world was snow. A lot of it, too. De-activating the armor, mostly to not draw suspicion to herself, she pulled out her coat from her bag and put it on. Re-adjusting the bag, having taken it off prior to putting the coat on and then putting it back on, she held out her hand and a snowflake fell into it.

A flashback occured, when she had seen her first snow months ago in another world... But she shook herself out of it and walked through the snow. It didn’t bother her, and neither did the cold weather... It was just normal to her now.

For a while, there, she just wandered aimlessly through the snow, until a man in armor came up to her. Citing her as the “Warrior of Light”, whatever that was, and telling her that a place, called Ishgard, was still thankful for her assistance to this day.

She could only give a strained smile at that. She wasn’t this “Warrior of Light”, but it seemed that this man wasn’t the only one. Though, she did note he had strange points on the sides of his head.

This mistake of identity, however, was how she had gained entry into Ishgard proper. She didn’t want to use it, but she was curious about this “Ishgard”, and what it was. It turned out to be a city above the cliffs, isolated thanks to the bridge and gates. Once inside, she had gone about asking about the Warrior of Light, which caused a little bit of confusion as they all assumed that she was that person.

How... annoying.

The little bit of information she could glean, however, was that a supposed friend of hers was in the area. The Forgotten Knight was where she was pointed to when she asked where, and she was certain that this person could clear up the mistaken identity. After all, this was her first time ever in this world and she had no idea what people were talking about.

Pushing the doors to the Forgotten Knight open, Melanie walked inside and down the stairs to see a woman with purple hair talking to what she assumed was the barkeep. From the information she’d gotten, what little it was, this woman was the “friend” of hers. So, taking a breath, she walked up and gently tapped her on the shoulder.

“Excuse me, I.. heard you were...” Melanie hesitated for a moment. “...waiting for... the Warrior of Light?”

     “I am aware, yes,” The auri man huffs, barbed tail lashing behind him as the pair trek side by side, back towards the gates of Ul’dah. “Fortunately, height is not a requirement for hurling fireballs. I could have done plenty of protecting...if I’d had the energy for it.”

Which he hadn’t. He had depleted his mana and was in the midst of switching himself over to regain it when he’d spotted the man with the knife going for Koya’s back as she fended off the other brass blades-turned-traitors.      As impulsive as his companion can be, Minyue is certain he could rival her in moments like those. He’s collected and tactical one moment, surveying the battlefield and keeping himself out of the way while making certain he has each factor— enemy and ally— within his sights...

And the next, he’s racing forwards and swinging his staff as one might swing an axe, striking the rogue in the knee with a THWAK harsh enough to make even Minyue flinch— despite being the one to deliver it. 

The man buckled, and for a moment, the Au Ra was triumphant. It wasn’t to last, however, as one might expect when someone clearly unsuited to displays of brute strength makes such a move.

All’s well that ends well, of course, and it ended well enough. Minyue is sporting more cuts and bruises than he’s accustomed to, perhaps, but it’s better than Koya having a dagger buried in her back.

     “I was simply trying to be helpful, and since there’s no knife between your shoulder-blades, I’d say I accomplished that much, at least. In retrospect, perhaps I should have gone for his head, but it all worked out fine.” He crosses his arms over his chest, wincing at the movement but doing his best to hide it behind a frown and a glower. 

     “A thank you wouldn’t be out of place, you know. Or perhaps some food. This whole ‘running around hitting things’ thing you do is exhausting.”

It was natural to be excited... and nervous at the same time.

Having time off meant one could do so much, Bowen was grateful to share every moment he could with such a sweetheart as Anzu. Every moment he shared with her, was unforgettable. The sightseeing, the closeness, the happiness, everything. It was like he was always over when he could be, just to be with her, to be truly happy, as happy as he could be.

Of course, new ideas would come to mind, to spend time together, to have fun and enjoy so much more. It was probably bound to happen that he would eventually bring up the idea of maybe they should take dancing lessons together. Sure, it was going to be a different experience, dancing with Anzu, so very talented that she is, but oh he could just imagine the possibilities. Maybe the dreamer in him pictured the two at a ball, dressed so impeccably, dancing to such beautiful music in such an embrace, such a gaze.

Oh, it made his heart flutter.

But to get there, they had to take the first step.. and walking hand in hand as their destination neared, their first lesson together, it was natural for his nerves to kick up a bit. Sure, he was good on his feet, Anzu especially so, but he hoped, so very hoped, to do perfect, hoped that he would never need to worry about his feet. Who knows how long that might take? It might take a while.. or not at all. Sometimes it comes so easily.

Even so, there was another feeling in him, that even with his nerves, today was going to be an incredible day.

Ah yes, that age old question: How does one exactly forgive themselves? Not even this forlorn king of the north knew. Wise as he was claimed to be, not even he could forgive himself for the faults in his life.

“I can’t tell you how to forgive yourself.” He answered. “I tell you that you don’t owe anyone forgiveness, because forgiveness isn’t an item that can be given away...”
