I believe that the only reason Vlad and Maddie didn't have children in Masters of All Time is it would raise a heavy moral conundrum that the writers didn't want to tackle in a kids show.
Tumblr media
Because if that door had opened up and Danny had seen Vlad and Maddie's kids, he'd have to deal with the terrible fact that by trying to fix his own timeline, he'd be erasing his own half-siblings from existence. Not to mention Vlad and Maddie's relationship, their happiness, the life they'd built together. Still ridiculously in love after 20+ years.
Tumblr media
Maddie would undoubtedly love her and Vlad's children just as much as she loves Danny and Jazz in their own timeline, and there's no question how much Vlad would cherish his kids.
And supposing that Vlad couldn't father children for some reason, I think he'd be completely on board with adoption. (So even if Danny wasn't wiping people out of existence, he'd be denying them a loving home and family.) The absence of children is just downright baffling, given the evidence we've seen of Vlad's character. The man was dying for a family, desperate to love and be loved. (See: Maternal Instincts, Secret Weapons, Kindred Spirits.)
Tumblr media
But no offspring meant no "loose ends" to deal with, no baggage, no sticky moral conflicts. Because Danny would certainly be conflicted by a situation in which he had to unmake his half-siblings. In Kindred Spirits we saw how he hadn't wanted to harm Danielle, who was essentially his own DNA assembled by Vlad; by this same principle, I don't think he'd want to hurt his half-siblings, even if they were made by worst enemy.
If the writers had shown Vlad and Maddie happily married with kids, if the audience had sympathized with Vlad, then Danny would be the villain for wanting to rip that family apart.
(Also, they had to show Vlad doing a complete 180 and going full Evil Diabolical Villain with a side order of Lying Husband at the end of the episode, just to reinforce the idea that This Guy Is And Always Will Be The Bad Guy And Don't You Forget It.)

Rewrite for Masters Of All Time.
What's worse than a bad episode? A bad episode that had the POTENTIAL to be truly amazing. The concept of Danny time-traveling to the past and messing with Vlad's portal incident only to make the timeline even worse than it currently is so he *needs* to fix it back to normal.
[Certain changes and explanations why I made those changes will be put in brackets like these.]
Borrowing @schnuffel-danny's Jack wrote letters to Vlad hc for this loose plot rewrite. Finally got spurred into writing this when I saw @picturejasper20's post about it.
Starting at the beginning, let's cut out Vlad going to the Fentons for help and make the trigger for Danny relying on time travel being that he is fading in and out of the time-space-continuum and he goes to Clockwork to figure out why. Clockwork in turn, gives him a medallion to stabilize him and informs him that someone stole stuff from him and is changing the past, thus effecting the present. Danny jumps to the conclusion that it's Vlad and volunteers to go after him, Clockwork can't read minds so he doesn't know that Danny thinks Vlad did it and okays it, sending him to the year he saw the 'dubious creature' flee to.
[This change both lets us dive right into the time-travel shenanigans thus giving us slightly more time to see more timelines. It also makes Danny look less stupid because in this case, jumping to the conclusion that time-travel is the answer makes much more sense. There's multiple solutions to trying to cure a virus that don't involve time travel, but you can't fix 'somebody's messing with the past' *without* time travel.]
After he lands in Wisconsin University, 198X, Danny's even more sure that it's Vlad messing with the past, but despite that, he doesn't find him anywhere while he zooms around the university hunting him down. He *does* find or rather, crashes into College!Vlad. Who is surprisingly chill with the existence of ghosts being real and doesn't seem phased by Danny phasing through him. Danny apologizes, C!Vlad accepts it, telling Danny not to worry, it's not like anything happened. Both move on their way without thinking about the interaction while C!Vlad mutters something about 'Undead Fenton Family reunion'. [Scene is there for foreshadowing.]
Danny spends all day looking for Present!Vlad up until he finds a flyer for the 'Ghost club' where they plan to show off the proto-portal. Figuring that P!Vlad is going to sabotage it somehow, he stakes out the area the portal's being built waiting for P!Vlad to show up and he doesn't.
Instead, College!Jack insists C!Vlad handle the remote while he inspects the portal's structural integrity. C!Vlad agrees, but has doubts that the portal will really work which he expresses to C!Jack, who waves it off and sticks his head inches away from the portal frame as he's 'inspecting' and Danny's waiting until C!Jack's done so Vlad can peer into it so things can happen as they're supposed to.
But he doesn't.
College!Maddie inspects the calculations and tells the two that they are wrong, C!Vlad sneezed and turned the remote on by accident, cursing as the portal turns on. Thus, the proto-portal incident occurs with Vlad and Jack's positions swapped. And Danny learns his dad left out that the accident was far more horrific than he described.
[The horrors occur off-screen, but we're shown shadows, see Danny's reactions, hear C!Jack's agonized screams along with C!Vlad and C!Maddie's horrified screams, and see Danny run out of the room to throw up in the nearest trash can. I made this change for three reasons. 1. Reveal that Jack's retelling of the 'good ol' days' has a few lies ingrained in the sugar coating, the biggest of which being the severity of the accident 2. Reveal to the audience that Vlad actually has a really high Fenton-nonsense tolerance level and that while he holds grudges like a cup holds water, he doesn't hold unwarranted grudges. 3. I just want to add a little body horror concepts in the show about a half-dead kid who fights ghosts, sue me.]
From there, Danny follows the three and sees how things must've played out from the original timeline, but with Jack and Vlad swapped; Maddie and Vlad keep trying to visit Jack, but hospital security keep turning him away, they also attempt to send him letters and gifts but those are also rejected, but neither are giving up... [Scene added to show the audience Jack and Vlad were friends back then and that Jack didn't just drop Vlad like a bad habit after he was hospitalized]
Feeling defeated as he didn't prevent the timeline from changing but not sure what to do, Danny kinda waits on the hospital roof until Clockwork pushes a button on his staff that brings the kid back to the present.
Clockwork is confused, Danny's also confused, but surprisingly, the timeline is as things should be on the surface... Just to double check, Danny heads in hoping for the best, like maybe things were pretty rough for his dad at first, but *surely* his face healed up and he and mom got together soon afterwards right? Maybe this change is a good thing and he can learn how to be a halfa from his own dad, right?
Wrong. Instead, Jack Fenton lives alone in Amity Park with a robotic version of Jasmine and a cat named Jack Junior. There's a lot less Fenton inventions in Fentonworks and a lot more ghosts strapped to dissection tables, many, if not all of them, are not moving.
[Robot added and cat's name changed because as silly as he is, Jack *is* an inventor in his own right and making a robot daughter does seem like something he'd do if he was REALLY lonely, as well as would parallel Vlad's future creation of Danielle. Ghosts on dissection tables added to add some tension as whether or not Danny is in danger, this Jack is definitely dangerous.]
Instead of the bootleg Vlad Plasmius costume, Jack's ghost form does have the pointy ears, red eyes, bluish skin, and fangs that Vlad's strain of halfa-ism has, but he wears the same orange jumpsuit (as only his face was caught in the portal, not his entire body) and an added purple cloak/hood combo.
Danny is at first intimidated by this large hooded figure surrounded by dead ghosts and they have a short fight, then in battle, the latter notices the medallion on the former and flips the hood off, excitedly asking Danny about it, being just as chipper and ramble-y as he remembers his dad, even as a very scary ghost. Relieved, Danny explains what he knows the best he can and asks 'Jack Frighton' [ghostly surname being a poor mesh of 'Fright' and 'Fenton'] about what happened in the past.
Jack's own recollection of how things played out is a bittersweet story about how back then, someone warned him that his best friend would go through something terrible if he looked through that proto-ghost portal and he took the fall for him, only for said best friend to never visit him in the hospital and Jack, heartbroken by his supposed friends' lack of care for his life (which Danny knows isn't true), moves away to Amity Park for a fresh start.
"..Did you forgive them?"
"I did, the distance and time made it easier to and now I've got the best job in the world, the coolest powers to do it with, and an assistant who's like a daughter to me. Although given that apparently in your timeline I have a REAL daughter and a son I guess that might be where the feeling comes from..."
"Do you ever want to see them again? Vlad and Maddie, I mean."
"*laughs* not when I'm half-ghost and they're professional ghost hunters! I'm happy for them, but I can be happy for them at a safe distance, we send each other letters, cards, and research materials all the time now!"
"...Aren't you a ghost-hunter too?"
"Nope."
"But what about all the-?"
"Oh? These guys? I work as a ghost-mortician. I also ghost-fish, but that's just a hobby. I've tried, but I'm not cut out to be an actual hunter, 'got a really lousy aim, but you don't need an accurate aim with a fishing rod to catch something!"
"Ghost-fishing? So you do have a ghost portal? Can I use it to get back to Clockwork?"
"Well Danny, I'd say 'yes', but I sent it over to Mads and V-man for reference on their own portal a month ago... ...I'll show the way to their address."
One Specter Speeder flight to Vlad and Maddie's Wisconsin house later, Jack and Danny switch to human forms and Jack knocks on the door, getting no response.
Jack knocks again and calls out for them, still no response.
Danny just phases through the front door and Jack follows, both of them notice that the house is in a state of disrepair; broken furniture everywhere, puddles of ectoplasm on the ground, and strange claw marks on the walls.
As the two quietly make their way through the house, (well, Danny quietly goes through the house, Jack calls out for his old friends every two minutes), Danny notices framed pictures, inventions, and other odd items symbolizing Vlad and Maddie's relationship through the years on the walls and left broken on the ground. Through these items he sees their wedding, their honeymoon, their anniversary dates, the devices they built together, their ghost-hunting trips, their... the pictures of the "children" they apparently made together with mad science. [Clone kids foreshadowing Kindred Spirits, but they look closer to the skeleton and Frankenstein clones as opposed to anything like Dani.]
While Danny's holding up one of the letters, he hears ectobeams going off and Jack flies into the room, panicking as he's yelling at Danny to run for his life, saying that they messed with something they never should have messed with. That they bit off more than they could chew. Danny is just about to question Jack before he hears the inhuman groan and sees the ectoplasm-oozing figure of what is supposed to be Vlad Masters.
[We will not see a dairy king!Vlad future in this rewrite for multiple reasons, but one of the biggest ones is that despite being a different timeline, DK!Vlad is a copy-paste of Main Timeline!Vlad despite it making literally no sense and just downgrading Vlad's character by saying 'he's just an asshole, don't pity him'. However I understand as a writer that Danny needs to not have moral dilemmas about undoing the Vlad X Maddie timeline especially since I gave them kids even if they are weird-clone kids that might not even be sapient, so enjoy ecto-zombies and the looming implication that said kids are also zombies.]
The ecto-Zombie Maddie shrieks as her husband's pinned down and lunges at Jack, who puts up a shield blocking her barrage but also giving Zombie!Vlad time to get up...
As he's holding them off despite being distraught, Danny finds the portal and looks back at Jack just as he can't hold them off any longer, promising him that he will fix the timeline, Jack wishes him luck while Danny jumps through the portal to head back to Clockwork.
Once there, Danny explains that he learned from Jack what happened and what he needs to do to prevent this timeline that's on the brink of a zombie apocalypse from happening: He needs to stop Vlad from convincing College!Jack from sticking his head in the portal.
Clockwork attempts to clarify that Vlad isn't the one who changed the past, but Danny's already going through the Time-thing and while Clockwork *could* just bring him back to the present, he decides to stay and watch what he does to let Danny's rash decision not to listen be its own punishment.
This time when he's in the past, he shows up in C!Vlad and C!Jack's bedroom in the morning and basically sticks to the two of them like glue, claiming that he's one of their relatives and being really vague about it so Vlad thinks he's Jack's distant cousin and Jack thinks he's Vlad's distant cousin.
He drags himself along on two different classes with C!Jack and C!Vlad, a really boring study session with them accompanied with C!Maddie, a lunch at a diner where Danny has to remind himself that yes, this is really Vlad because the one and only time he's seen this laid-back, (stoner but its hinted at with the munchies, not shown), actually kinda cool guy get Present!Vlad levels of mad, the only time he sees him get into a full on fight with someone, is when another student from the college tries to steal C!Jack's lunch.
C!Vlad gets his ass absolutely handed to him because he's a twig in an oversized jacket, but he still gets C!Jack's lunch back because he bit the other guy at least five times.
While Danny's playing bodyguard, he uses ectobeams to successfully scare off what he thinks was Skulker in a bedsheet as the figure was far too large to be Vlad, even in his Plasmius form.
Aside from his presence being known, things in the college go on as Danny assumes they're supposed to, and at the point he sees C!Vlad looking into the rim of the proto-portal, Danny thinks that he's fixed the timeline and heads out of the room before the accident happens as he does NOT want to see it again.
Clockwork sends him to the new present and Danny walks home sweet home only to be greeted by the realization that no, he didn't fix the timeline as the sign on the building reads "Walkerworks".
Today he learns that his mom's maiden name is "Walker".
Danny lets out an exasperated sigh and flies out to Wisconsin to figure out how Vlad messed up the timeline from the man himself before borrowing mom's portal for a bit.
As he gets there, he finds the the beefy Packers' Quarterback: Vlad Masters, who lives with his best friend, the ghost-studying scientist Jack Fenton.
Danny pulls Vlad aside and says that while he understands the Packers thing, why the heck would he'd change the timeline to this when he was obsessed with marrying his mom is he just trying to spite him or just erase him from existance? And Quarterback!Vlad has no idea what he's talking about.
While he buys that Danny's from a different timeline when Danny shows Vlad that he's a halfa, the two are having trouble getting on the same page due to the fact that Vlad has no idea about the timeline Danny's talking about and Danny's getting frustrated up until Vlad brings up the incident and he finally understands what changed in the timeline when Vlad tells him about the aftermath of the portal accident.
"The ghost powers themselves are great, I don't think I'd accomplish any of this if I didn't have them, but the process of mastering them was absolutely terrible, if my best friend Jack didn't visit me in the hospital all the time and encourage me as much as he did, I don't know what I would've done."
"Visited you?"
"Yes! Practically every single day, he also brought gifts and letters, apparently, he wanted to send them, but thought they'd get lost in the mail, so instead he brought them in person..."
Now that he knows what's changed, Danny goes back in time once again to the first day Vlad's at the hospital and waits for either Present Vlad or the past Version of his dad to show up, feeling guilty about ruining Jack and Vlad's happy life together, but also really wanting to, you know, exist.
As night falls and he sees someone his dad's size squeeze through one of the windows, Danny tackles him, throws off the figure's sheet, and takes off his hood/goggles for good measure, revealing that it's not Skulker, not Present!Vlad, not College!Jack, but Present!Jack.
Danny's shocked and demands an explanation from him, also warning him that he ruined the timeline twice and that he's not going to let him do it a third time.
Jack explains that this all started when he added some extra line on his Fenton Ghost-Fisher and while testing it out, he caught a time travel-remote. After figuring out what it was and what it did, he thoughtlessly used it to attempt to fix his broken relationship with his former best friend.
"But it seemed like every time I finally fixed something, I'd turn around for something else to break. I lost him and Mads in one timeline, at first I tried not to mind, but then they even lost themselves, in another, I had him, but lost her, Jazz and Danny..."
Jack hands Danny the remote back with a sigh.
"I'm sorry Phantom. I never wanted to mess anything up or hurt anyone. I really love my family and don't want to lose them. I do want my kids to exist and I swear I'm not trying to run away from them or anything like that. But if I can't save Vlad, if I can't be there for him, how can he ever forgive me for what I've done to him?"
"When you were put in the same situation he was in, you forgave him. You were trying to reconnect with him and Maddie when they were a thing... So why can't he forgive you?"
"It's not as simple as that, kiddo. I saw what could've happened and chose to sacrifice myself, he didn't even get to see the choices."
Danny rolled his eyes.
Sure, he himself 'didn't see the choices' when he was caught in his own portal incident, but he never held a grudge against Sam over it. In Danny's point of view in this moment, the difference between Jack and Vlad is that in the exact same situation, Jack would choose to be a hero where Vlad would choose to be a villain. And to him, that was the reason why his parents worked as a couple while when Vlad was with his mom, things ended terribly.
But he said nothing to his father who had been through enough today. He just sat by him in the hospital hallway waiting for Clockwork to zap them back.
___
And that's the end of the rewrite, comments, opinions, questions, criticisms, and suggestions on how to change this to make it better welcome. I know that it's not a *perfect* piece of work but I hope that it was one less infuriating than the actual Masters Of All Time episode.

In masters of all time Maddie has her own portal but Jack doesn't, and Jack appears to have had ecto acne constantly in ghost form since the initial accident. Vlad in main canon has his own portal and mostly doesn't have ecto acne except for the beginning of the episode. Therefore Vlad cured his ecto acne via portal creation thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Out of all the weird things from ¨Masters of All Time¨ the one that probably makes the less sense to me is why Jack's ghost form has the same design and color palette as Vlad Plasmius.
Like it doesn't make sense? Why it would look the same. It misses the point that Vlad's design- mainly the color palette- is supposed to make contrast with Phantom's from a narrative and foil point.
Why would Jack choose to look this way anyways? With Vlad it fits his personality because he acts as a ¨emotional vampire¨ in the show, manipulating people and taking advantage of them.
Jack should have other color palette at least? I think that would be more tolerable.

Pretty based of "Masters of All Time" to confirm my hypothesis that Jack Fenton should grow a beard. Truly, he reached unprecedented levels of DILFhood as a half-ghost.
Although... part of me is still confused as to why his half-ghost form is essentially the same as Vlad's. Like, I get the Doylist reason, but it's the Watsonian logic that puzzles me. Perhaps it has something to do with the way the ectoplasm was delivered into their systems? Like maybe there's a ghost donor out there, some kind of Original Plasmius who unintentionally contributed material to Vlad/Jack's exposure. Or maybe that's just what you look like when you're part Diet Coke???

Unpopular opinion: I love that they double down on Vlad being an asshole in the episode ‘Masters of all time’.  That episode gets plenty of fair criticism but the idea that Vlad would have been a better person if the accident never happened to him is one that I disagree with.
I just find the idea that Vlad was a good person until he became a victim from his best friend’s carelessness; that he WOULD be a good guy if only he could just finally get the family he always wanted, SO much less compelling than the idea that,
Vlad always had a touch of selfishness, controlling and manipulative behavior in him, and this one horrible thing that happened to him didn’t CAUSE him to be that way but instead gave him the excuse and the power to do what he always had in him.
It wasn’t the portal accident.  It was him. His choices.  That’s what makes him such a good foil for Danny.  Danny also went through the accident.  Danny also has to keep this part of himself secret.  Danny also has a complicated relationship with Jack and Maddie based on them not being able to grasp just how much they have hurt and continue to hurt him. Danny and Vlad just make different choices.
His loneliness and misery are all his own doings.  There ARE people who want to connect with Vlad, but he sees them as beneath him. He could have Maddie in his life, IF he accepted her friendship instead of her romance.  He could find a new love IF he didn’t see everyone as lesser.  He could have a strong bond with Danny, IF he had just approached him differently and didn’t make such selfish demands of him.
It’s all him. And what’s the best way to show that?
Take away the portal accident.  He no longer has his big excuse and he’s still got all his flaws.  He’s still controlling and cruel. In the normal time line, he’s convinced himself he deserves Maddie because of what he went through.  In this changed time lime, it’s just because he likes it this way. He’s selfish and no amount of getting exactly what he wants will change that.
That’s why his redemptive moment in TUE works.  He’s been stripped of everything BUT time to reflect on his own choices,
And it’s also why in Kindred Spirits, Danielle’s love for him isn’t the key to his redemption and change. He says all he wants love and family but he’s too controlling and selfish to accept Danielle flaws and all.  Everything had to be his exact way.
Vlad’s character changed in season 3.  I’ll give you that, but seasons 1-2, he is consistent. It’s just that fans wished for a different trajectory for his character.

Was thinking of the uh Masters of all Time episode and like- I didn't like the future changing bit cuz alot is supposed to change it just seemed like ppl swapped places- personalities and other things should've swapped too????? This episode had a lot of missed potential so I'm changing that!
Tumblr media
Also extra stuff besides just changing the episode I'm making it into its own seperate universe-
Danielle as the Danny in this universe (And Danny as the clone but unlike the og plot he helps with Jacks evil lil schemes and helps a lot he does. Jack also acts as his father figure.)
Sam and Tucker switch places with tech lover and goth vegan :3
Also if u have any other questions feel free to ask like any specific episode or just other things u may be thinking of!! :D

Danny phantom phandom, can I please get some help?
Ive been looking for some fics i read forever ago but now cannot find, and I didn’t have an Ao3 account then, so they are not bookmarked
I turn to you, in hopes of finding/ figuring out what happened to these
1. Post phantom planet fic where Danny is forced to wear repressor cuffs in order to go to school, but his break so he gets to come to school and use his powers more under the table. Includes Danny recharging Tucker’s phone and floating up to free all the balls from the gym roof
Édit: not Shift by CaptainOzone, but thanks for the suggestion
2. A partial rewrite of masters of all time, where after changing the past when he goes to the future where his mom and Vlad are marrried, he’s still there bc he is actually Vlad’s biological son
If anyone is able to find these, or ones similar I would be incredibly grateful

Thinking about "Masters of All Time"
Rant Incoming, But...
Danny goes back in time to save Vlad from the portal accident that turned him into Plasmius. Maddie falls in love with Vlad after he saves her from the same portal accident, Jack gets ecto-acne and turns evil, and in the new timeline, Jack's a pathetic lonely man-child, Vlad and Maddie are married, though he has forced her to give up ghost hunting. Then Maddie divorces Vlad the moment Jack reenters her life.
Like, what?
Why would Vlad, unharmed by the ghost portal incident and without a grudge against ghost hunting, force his wife to give it up? Was he literally just there to get with Maddie with no interest in ghosts at all himself (I don't put it past any collage guy, but, literally zero interest)?
Why would Maddie wait until Jack came back to divorce Vlad if she hated being married to him that much?
Jack does literally nothing in 20 years?
Like, the whole issue with Vlad in the main timeline is that he doesn't consider Maddie a person who made her own choice in who she married, but the text of "Masters of All Time" states that Maddie and Jack are soulmates destined to be in love and get married no matter what; she still doesn't have an actual choice, it's fate, it's destiny. And I don't buy it.
Maddie is not a person here, she's an accessory specifically for Jack. She can't choose who she wants to be with; nothing anyone can do, up to and including altering the timeline, can change that she's meant to be Jack's Wife, and that's that.
Vlad is inherently evil, irredeemable, and incapable of growing or changing. Whether he gets what he wants or not, whether he's a super-powered petty villain or a dairy farmer, whether he has a family or not, he will always be evil.
Jack is so incompetent, such a man-child, that in two decades he can't 1) cleanup after himself, 2) recreate a portal he helped create in the first place, 3) get a job or do anything to even try to make money, 4) try more than once to be a ghost hero. He's so helpless, it's offensive, and leaves me wondering how he isn't full-dead without someone taking care of him.
They're The Villain, The Wife, and The Idiot, and there's nothing anyone can do to change that. And it's just fuckin' sad.
If I had my way, "Masters of All Time" could be used as a jumping off point for a Vlad Redemption.
Vlad and Maddie fall in love, and actually, you know, love each other. Vlad is in the Ghost Hunters Club because he likes ghost hunting, and it just so happens that his crush is there, or he followed his crush into it, and because she liked it, grew to enjoy it, if not ghost hunting directly, then Maddie's love of it.
They'd bring out the worst in each other. Both Vlad and Maddie are ruthless in getting what they want. If they were really together and a ghost hunting team the way Jack and Maddie are - oh, they'd destroy the Ghost Zone. Imagine if Danny changed the past and it wasn't just his life that was ruined, but the entire world is flooded in ghosts and monsters and creatures that belong in the Ghost Zone, but there's no Zone anymore. The only thing at stake in the original episode is... when Jazz and Danny are born? Because Jack and Maddie get back together and if the timeline continued as normal from there (which why wouldn't it?), and Jack is already halfa, then Danny could have been born halfa, and that is already way more interesting a timeline. Danny wouldn't be friends with Sam and Tucker, but they'd still exist and not die from ecto-acne, fair trade I think.
And also, Jack should have been either just as evil as original Vlad or, what I prefer, a good guy who does his best to do good but isn't quite competent enough to effect actual change. He should have tried to be a ghost hero for a little while before giving up and start trying to build up a team to help defend against ghosts, especially after the destruction of the Ghost Zone.
The think the one thing Jack should have over Vlad is Friend Making. I know in canon Jack is too stupid to not be an asshole to everyone, and Maddie is the only person who puts up with it (even his kids don't like him most of the time). But what he should be is Where Danny and Jazz get their sense of morality. My personal version of Jack Fenton should always be trying to do the right thing. He hunts ghosts because ghosts are evil. He supports Vlad because that's what good friends do. He protects his wife and kids, because that's what good husbands do. Everything he does should be a rational conclusion of "what is the most good thing to do in this situation". Even if it's a bad outcome, like destroy an innocent ghost, he got to that bad outcome for the right reasons. He can be easily manipulated, sure, but he's not completely bankrupt like in canon. And so, the reason original timeline Maddie didn't destroy the Ghost Zone isn't because Jack is a bumbling idiot holding back her ruthless genius, but because he distracts her with "Large-scale Protection Projects", like Coordinating Neighborhood Ghost Watches, Ghost-Safety Outreach, and making sure his best friend Vlad becomes mayor so that they can make better City Wide Emergency Ghost Invasion Plans. Jack is the guy who will forgive anything in canon (even if he needs bribing with food), so he should also be the guy who cares even when he doesn't have the power to change things.
Danny should see these facts in stark relief. Vlad is extremely loving and supportive of his wife and therefore, vitally, redeemable. Maddie is unrestrained genius and prejudice. And Jack is pathetic, sure, but still trying his best and not giving up despite the shitty situation he's in. And take that lesson, along with the contaminate information, back with him.
Not only does it up the stakes of from the original version of "Masters of All Time", but it also makes Jack, Maddie, and Vlad into actual characters and not just archetype props in Danny's life.

I need less not-so-subtle dp reveal fics being used as an allegory for parents rejecting their lgbtq+ kids. I mean Im not gonna tell you to stop writing them if you really need to vent something, but like guys…
The Fentons canonically accept their son for who he is TWICE, not even counting PP. so THREE TIMES. It is canon that Jack and Maddie love their dead gay son okay.
So maybe instead of reveals gone bad, we can focus on the fenton parents getting super introspective now that they have to confront their previous biases and the faults that led to those biases in the first place?
Jack is an especially interesting case. We know his ancestors were ghosthunters and pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower. Was his family as religious as his ancestors were? We know He isn’t particularly religious, what if Jack himself turned away from all that because he found his family’s way of life backwards and toxic. The idea of doing something because of tradition and some scripture was nonsense to him because there is no evidence.
No. Jack Fenton does not believe in scripture or dogma, he believes in theories backed by evidence and research. He follows the math, and the math says his family is full of crap and maybe a little abusive (your miles may vary).
But Ghosts are totally still real and when has there ever been a good haunting??? Conclusion: ghosts are evil obviously.
Just because Jack decides to cut off his family ties doesn’t mean he wants to hunt ghosts any less. He’s just going to do it better: WITH SCIENCE and a partner who doesn’t look down on him for his ideas and quirks. So he dedicates his life to hunting ghosts HIS WAY.
At least until he finds out Danny is half ghost. His own son, a boy Jack knows doesn’t have an evil bone in his body. Now Jack has to look back and ask himself was he really any better than his parents at all.
I might continue this later but Thats all for now i guess

Danny Phantom Randomness (Desolation)
I just had an interesting thought. To give you a bit of context, in my fanfic “Nowhere To Run” I had Vlad and Danny confront a lot of their personal issues with one another, especially Vlad after he went too far with the cloning incident. Danny’s a tough kid but everyone has their limits as far as how much they’re willing to put up with.

So here’s my thought, what if after the events of TUE Danny becomes extra paranoid of losing his friends and family? For example, when Vlad tries to make Jazz and Danny fight he straight up refuses to instead of putting on an act. This obviously confuses Vlad who has never seen Danny like that and Jazz for once is at a loss for what to do since Vlad injected her with nanobots and legit threatened to “waste her” if she betrayed him, meaning she probably HAS to fight Danny.
Danny seriously loses his cool and goes straight to attacking Vlad so violently to make him turn off the nanobots and ghost shield that for the first time he’s getting a small taste of exactly what Danny’s capable of once he stops holding back. This makes Vlad stop to think about what could have possibly made Danny react like that. Was this just his usual teen angst and raging hormones, or the result of one too many ghost fights giving Danny some serious emotional trauma?
Skipping forward to when Vlad infects Sam and Tucker with ecto-acne, Danny loses it again and doesn’t even try to play nice in front of his parents. He grabs Vlad by the collar of his shirt and threatens Vlad, saying that if ANYTHING happens to them...he’ll kill him. Vlad of course just writes it off as Danny being dramatic since he knows he’ll save them all anyway. And this time, Danny doesn’t screw up the timeline to make sure Vlad doesn’t get his ghost powers since he’s already seen the damage something like that can do.
What finally makes Danny snap is when Vlad kidnaps and tortures him to get a mid-morph sample. He’s had enough. And so, one day Danny goes to confront Vlad and it goes something like this:
After Danny calls Vlad out on how evil he’s become, like a spoiled brat Vlad tries to excuse his actions with the whole “Jack Fenton ruined my life” bit to which Danny responds coldly. “No he didn’t Vlad. It was an accident but you CHOSE to use your powers for selfish reasons. You chose to be my enemy. We could have been friends at least, but no.
“The truth is, Vlad, you don’t know HOW to love anyone. If you did, you wouldn’t do things like this. You wouldn’t threaten the lives of my friends and family or reject someone who genuinely loved you! Dani LOVED you, and you threw that all away because of your stupid obsession with the perfect half-ghost son. Well news flash Vlad, I’ve SEEN how it ends once you get what you think you want...
“In a timeline where I actually lost everything and had to come live with you, you destroyed that too. You destroyed what was left of me and the entire world paid the price for your selfishness. You think my dad ruined your life but that’s where you’re wrong, you did that. You destroy everything you touch which means...the only way to make sure you never turn me into that monster is to become it on my own terms so that I’m the only one who has to live with the guilt. Because I’d rather die a hero...then live long enough to see myself become a worse villain than you.”
After that, Danny goes all out and stops pulling his punches. They duke it out in a seriously intense battle and after Danny comes out on top, but only just, Danny tells Vlad that if he EVER crosses the line again it’s over. No second chances. No mercy. Because Vlad was slowly turning into a real monster, not just some cartoon villain and Danny’s not willing to risk the fate of the world or the safety of his friends and family on sparing the life of a self-centered jerk who keeps saying all he wants is love but then ends up doing things to make Danny hate him more and more as time passes.
So, Vlad has a choice to make.
He can either keep going on like this, pushing Danny away completely.
Or, Vlad can stop and take a long hard look at his life and realize Danny’s right. This has to end before its too late and any chance they might have to become anything more than enemies is gone forever.
Even if Vlad can’t be Danny’s father...he can at least become a mentor which is better than nothing and means he won’t be alone anymore. Then the two of them can have at least one person around who understands them better than anyone else in their lives. Heck, even agreeing to a truce would be a huge improvement...
Anyways, just had to get this idea out of my system. Hope you liked it!
