Not gonna lie, the Brenner dying scene when El didn't accept his apology didn't have any emotional impact for me cause I was too busy spending the next few moments, where he sees the pizza car driving away, imagining he was thinking 'We're all dead and dying because one of those fucking scientists decided they wanted pizza?!' and him thinking the government found them and their location cause someone ordered a pizza.

Feel like I lost braincells listening to MBB and Mathew Modine’s takes on their characters. How do I know El & Brenner better than you two do, what the heck? Embarrassing.

MBB: I didn’t feel like he’s cruel. (See: Brenner electrocuting children and adults.) Eleven not forgiving him was such a Brenner move. (…I just straight up don’t agree with this take. This was not an attempt at manipulation, which is what Brenner regularly does: manipulates. In this case, El chose to prioritize her own mental health and truth over giving someone else what they want. It’s not the same. She was there for him in the end in a very reasonable way considering their lifelong relationship, but verbally absolving him of his guilt would have gone too far - and it would have made her character look weak and like she hasn’t grown.)

MM: It was like she passed the test, she didn’t blow up the cat, so she has compassion. (……Did you straight up forget that he was angry with her for that - both for not displaying her power and for disobeying? And he threw her into solitary confinement and only let her out because she killed the guards??? And then he stepped over the guards like it was nbd? Where have you been??)

im fucking losing it. stranger things fans on twitter really thought some random dude named nick who claimed to be on the writing team or whatever was gonna release bits of the script that had the 'byler moment' and it turned out to all be fake.

every screenshot you may have seen of scripts regarding scenes from season 4 are fake. and it got so out of hand that the official / verified stranger things writer's room twitter account said that people could request what scenes they wanna see bits of script for and they'll pick some and release them for free on their twitter every week.

and emphasis is def being placed on for free, which leads me to believe twitter users actually fucking PAID for these pieces of scripts, and got swindled.

imho the official writer's room acc is being too nice, especially when st fans were basically harassing brett gelman and mathew modine on twitter about the script and when it would be released.
