1. What would your hairstyle be?
2. Which do you see on which girls in the Crowd?
I like the high pomp and the Empire for myself. My hair skills mean I’d probably get the Drooping pomp most often, ha.
You see Carney being practical with the Everyday and Rat-less. And of course Tacy has the Coronets.

Modern-day Betsy Ray ‧₊˚ ⋅🦢‧₊˚ ⋅🩰‧₊˚ ⋅🎧 ‧₊˚ ⋅
Heart shaped sunglasses, lace and silk gloves, hair in curlers before going to sleep, fuzzy earmuffs, keeping a journal, lipstick print pages, tying a bow on every single bag you own, baking a lot, keeping your room organized and tidy, writing in cafes, slim gold rings, making sure your nails are always perfect, saving letters, reading poetry, best friend trios, prioritizing friends, family, and schoolwork, ballet flats 🩰
(for anyone wondering, she's my icon and from the betsy-tacy series, but I focused on her highschool arc)

"We make our own lives wherever we are, after all ... college can only help us to do it more easily. They are broad or narrow according to what we put into them, not what we get out. Life is rich and full here ... everywhere ... if we can only learn how to open our whole hearts to its richness and fullness." -LM Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea
Man, Kevin Sullivan really flattened these excellent words of wisdom from Mrs. Allan to Anne on the importance (or not) of Anne going to college into the generally cheesy aphorism of, "I went looking for my dreams outside myself and discovered it's not what the world holds for you, it's what you bring to it," didn't he?
(Also, wow is this akin to what Miss Fowler tells Emily in Maud Hart Lovelace's Emily of Deep Valley over a similar theme of whether college is necessary to the building of a full and rich life: "You've discovered, I see, that we have to build our lives out of what materials we have. It's as though we were given a heap of blocks and told to build a house ..." I guess Mrs. Allan and Miss Fowler would have been kindred spirits.)

“She thought of the library, so shining white and new; the rows and rows of unread books; the bliss of unhurried sojourns there and of going out to a restaurant, alone, to eat.” ― Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown.
