The Mauve Stinger jellyfish can be found in the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean. They can sting from all parts of their body, not just the tentacles. Though their sting feels intense, they're not venemous. They can have a diameter of 3 - 12 cm with eight 10 - 30 cm tentacles. They typically live about 2 - 9 months.
The mesmerizing mauve stinger is a stunner, literally! Although small in size (its bell can be a few inches in diameter), its long tentacles and the bumps on its bell pack a powerful punch to protect from predators and paralyze prey.
