“So… what's the story with that thing?” Marvin asked, leaning against the doorframe of Chase’s bedroom as he watched Chase return his gun to the little safe in his closet. It had been almost a week since they broke away from Dark, and Chase had refused to leave Marvin’s side the whole time. They had, for the most part, stayed at Marvin’s place and relaxed. They needed to rest and recover, but it was finally time to start moving on and get into their new roles. Well, Marvin’s new role. Thankfully, it was too late in the day to start that, and he could procrastinate a little longer. “I knew you worked in construction, but I didn’t think you’d ever own a gun.” 

“I bought it when Stacy told me she was pregnant,” Chase said, putting in the code to fully lock the safe. “I panicked at the idea of being a father, worried I wouldn’t be able to provide everything my kid would need, and being able to protect them was one of my first concerns.” He straightened up. “I bought the gun as a last resort. I’ve never used it toward someone. That was actually my first time even aiming it in a person’s direction.” 

“I’m sorry you had to do that, darling.” Marvin went over to Chase, placing a hand on his shoulder and gently rubbing it. 

“You do what you have to do to protect who you love,” Chase said with a smile, placing his hand on Marvin’s. Marvin knew he must be going soft these days since that got his heart to flutter. That was the closest to ‘I love you’ that Chase had said, and it was enough to get him to feel weak in the knees. 

“Yes, we do.” Marvin hummed, lifting his other hand to hold Chase’s cheek and kissing him. Chase chuckled when he thought it would be a quick kiss, but Marvin kept him close, gently nipping at his lower lip.

“Are you ever not horny?”

“You say that like you’re complaining.” 

“Far from it.” Chase bent enough to grab Marvin by the back of his thighs to lift him and plop him down on his bed. He laughed as he launched himself and landed on top of Marvin. 

“You’re going to break your bed doing that.” Marvin joined the laughter as he wrapped his arms around Chase’s neck. 

“I’ve been needing a new one for a while.” Chase playfully shrugged and then leaned down into another kiss. 

They had a few moments of peace, letting their hands wander and kissing lips, jaws, and necks before Marvin’s phone started playing a tune. 

“Mad,” Marvin said when Chase’s face asked who was calling. He awkwardly reached around their limbs, took his phone out, and answered the call, putting it on speaker. “Everything okay?” 

“Uh-yes, we’re all okay.” Mad’s voice showed he wasn’t expecting a question. 

“What’s up?” Chase asked.

“Oh! Um-Hi, Chase.” 

“You’re on speaker, hun. What do you need?” Marvin asked with a light giggle, running his fingers through Chase’s hair.

“Phantom told me to call since he and Mare made dinner and dessert and to, and I quote, get your asses over here before it gets cold,” Mad rambled the words out.

“Guess we’ll have to finish this up later.” Chase chuckled, crawling off Mavin and the bed.

“Finish what up?” Mad asked.

“Don’t worry about it. We’ll be back at the house in a minute.” Marvin hung up before Mad could ask anything more. “And this is why I never had roommates.”

“Once Phantom and Jackie find a place, they’ll be out,” Chase said as he checked that his clothing was in place. 

“The sooner the better. I know me and Jackie are on good terms, but it’s still awkward as hell walking into my kitchen and seeing my ex making out with his boyfriend.” Marvin clicked his tongue. 

“Or have him walking in on us making out in the kitchen,” Chase added with a wiggle of his eyebrows. 

“I can make out wherever I want in my house.” Marvin playfully huffed before looping his arm through Chase’s. “And, you know, other fun things~” He purred before snapping his fingers and sending them back to his place. 

“They were probably fucking, Mad.” Phantom’s voice was the first thing they heard when they arrived in the kitchen. 

“Sorry.” Mad squeaked when he saw Chase and Marvin and slipped away, sitting beside Mare at the table. Mare just shook his head and chuckled, sliding a plate of food in front of Mad and telling him to eat up. 

“Hey!” Phantom slapped the top of Jackie’s hand with a wooden spoon when he tried using his finger to get some icing off of the cake. 

“Ow!” Jackie yelped and pulled his hand back.

“That’s dessert. You have to eat dinner first.” Phantom scolded, wagging the spoon in Jackie’s face. 

“But-”

“Nope, no buts, now put yours in your seat. And no puppy-dog eyes either, or you’ll be eating something else for dessert~” Phantom giggled, putting the spoon down and guiding Jackie to the table. 

“Are you sure you’re not related to him?” Chase joked, gesturing with his thumb toward Phantom. Marvin just rolled his eyes and went over to where there was a stack of plates and a pot on the stove. 

While Marvin wasn’t the biggest fan of having so many others in his home, there was a big bonus with Mare and Phantom. Mare was a great cook, Phantom was a great baker, and both did their specialty whenever they were bored or stressed, so there was always something delicious and fresh to snack on. Marvin made a plate of food for Chase, then one for himself, and they sat at the table. The table barely fit all of them with their plates, silverware, and drinks. 

“Anyone have plans for tomorrow?” Chase asked, not liking the silence that soon followed when they all began eating. 

“Got a few houses me and Jackie are going to look at,” Phantom answered. “Probably going to stop by the club as well. My chef wants to add something to the lunch menu, and I gotta check it out.” 

“I’m going to the library in the morning,” Mad said.

“We’re going to the library in the morning.” Mare corrected. 

“No, I am. You don’t like the library.” 

“You’re not going to the library alone.”

“Why not?” 

“You can’t go anywhere alone.”

“I’m not a child. I can go to the library without supervision.” 

“It’s not about supervision. It’s about keeping you safe. Dark might be done with us, but we still have Actor.”

“We haven’t heard from him since we left.”

“Okay, and? He’s patient when he wants to be. The moment you’re alone, he’ll snatch you up.” 

“You’re still making me sound like a child.” 

“I am not-”

“Did you cook the chicken with the noodles?” Chase asked, cutting the argument short. 

“Did you have it finish cooking with them?” Jackie added his question. 

“The noodles taste good,” Chase said before putting a big forkful into his mouth.

“Very good.” Jackie echoed, doing the same action. Phantom and Marvin shared a look, and they both chuckled softly. Neither needed to share words to know they were having the same thought.

Rema, The Prince Of Nigerian music

Rema and Selena Gomez's "Calm Down" continues to shatter worldwide records as it advances its claim for 2023's Song Of The Summer, and indeed for every other season—it has in fact completed a year on the Billboard Top 100 chart, and even now continues to chart in the Top 20. And as its impact has been far reaching, so also have the accolades. The most recent of these came only a few days ago, when the song officially crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify, crowning it the first African song to reach this feat, and also one of the 500 most streamed music tracks of all time. Before this was the MTV Video Music Award ceremony, where a charismatic Rema received an award for the maiden 'Best Afrobeats Song' category. Before calling on his co-creator to say a few words of thanks, he paid homage to Nigerian music icons that paved his way to the world's biggest stages—names like Fela, pioneer of Afrobeat (no 's'); D'banj and 2Baba, prominent figures who ruled through the 00s; Don Jazzy and D'Prince, his mentors at Mavin and Jonzing, his record labels; and of course Nigerian music royalty Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido.

It is fitting that he makes such acknowledgements at a time when he too is progressing towards a career of this status. Nigerian music's growth, like he succinctly put, has come slowly but surely off the back of these creators, so that now, "Calm Down"'s worldwide acceptance does not draw the surprise it deserves from the Nigerian audience; exploits of the last two years appear to have numbed its citizens to what is possible. Two years ago, Essence, the Wizkid-Tems sultry collaboration that got a Justin Beiber touch for its remix, was having its moment in the sun with each new step applauded by the country, and it is important for context that Rema’s song has already amassed five times as many Spotify streams as its predecessor.

For many, this moment was always going to arrive for Nigerian music, the day when we would no longer need tags like "For an African artist" to qualify a new win; we would compete with parity against music from anywhere in the world. And for a tiny subset of these believers, it was always going to be Rema at the forefront of the vanguard effecting this cultural revolution for Nigeria. For the artist, born Divine Ikubor, has always borne a mark of divinity.

After catching the eye of D’prince, CEO of Jonzing record label, via a cover of his song, "Gucci Gang" that he posted on Instagram, the Benin-based singer got an invite to come to Lagos for a proper audition, after which he was signed to Jonzing, a Mavin record affiliate. At the age of 19 he made his entry via a self-named EP, a Mavin tradition, that highlighted in only four songs what Rema was set to bring to the industry. His euphonious vocals were for many the biggest and most prognostic highlight, but they masked other crucial aspects of his artistry—the depth of emotion he channels on "Why", and his dexterity in balancing this beside the fast-spinning Afropop bangers, "Dumebi" and "Iron Man".

A few months later, he made his reprisal, but in a new apparel—Trap music. His Rema Freestyle EP projected speedy delivery, snappy trap beats and rhymes about money, as Rema displayed another aspect of his artistry. Most noticeable was his sparsity of romantic themes on the new project, the substance with which he propped up his earlier effort. His third project, Bad Commando, found the balance between these two extremes, placing confident statements of self-aggrandisation (Dem know say I be bad commando”, he sings on Bad Commando) side by side with affecting professions of infatuation (The moment I see you na up NEPA, he begins on “Lady”), while he switches between Trap and Pop on the production side of things.

Releasing this project meant it was a very busy debut year for the singer, and at the 13th edition of the Headies he was awarded the Next Rated award—earmarking him as the next big star. In January he picked up a similar plaque at the Soundcity MVP Awards, and together with his City People Award for Revelation Of The Year, these plaques underscored how outstanding his debut year was. In 2020, though, it was time for the next stage of music release strategy, and this time he worked by releasing singles, as he tried to establish his sound as a balance of his Afropop, Trap and Arabian music origins. His first effort of the year was the two single pack of "Rainbow" and "Beamer", and the latter was the significantly more successful song, featuring Jamaican producer Rvssian who incorporated traces of the Dancehall genre.

These songs, along with his June release, "Alien", were drawn chiefly from the Trap corner of his artistry, but to properly dominate a country like Nigerian, he would need to create for a dance-loving audience, and with his next two singles, the melodious, groovy "Ginger Me" and the explosive "Woman", he sought to do exactly that. With the latter, Rema’s material also took on a sultry turn—“I too like woman, me I no dey gboran”—that he reprised with his next single, the Don Jazzy–produced "Bounce". Already Rema’s profile was growing exponentially on a national level as he sought inroads into the global market.

2022, for Rema, was the time to crystallise this three-year dominance in Nigeria's industry into a recognisable global profile. He released "Calm Down" in February, melding Afropop, Arabian and Dancehall influences for a track that was still authentically Nigerian—"Girl you sweet like Fanta", he says, reworking a popular Nigerian children's rhyme into a missive of playful adulation—and yet lent itself to foreign acceptance. To advance its entry into foreign markets, a stroke of collaborative genius brought a Selena Gomez remix, pouring fuel into the fire of the song's momentum so that it sauntered into the next gear of its worldwide ascent. With this remix has come multiple broken records, a couple of awards (including one for Rema as Headies Best Male Artist), and certifications that continue to roll in by the day.

As Rema continues to break new grounds both historically and geographically,—as in his recently-completed Indian tour—the next sets of doubts will centre around whether he can extend this fame beyond "Calm Down", and insert himself properly in world stardom. But that should be no problem. A combination of his astute singing talent, evocative writing and undeniable star power should ensure Rema fulfils his promise as prince of Nigerian music.

I don't know who, but I just really want 2 (or more) fakes going on increasingly stereotypical/ cutesy/ romantic dates but always insisting to the others it's just bros hanging out. Like it starts with just getting food or something but eventually they're like, going to build a bear together or spending the weekend away. The rest of the crew has known for a while and now there's a bet on about how far this can go before they have to admit they're together

Honestly first thought is this is peak mavin 😂 Just bros hanging out, giving each other nicknames, getting gifts, going on romantic dates. They both are just so scared of being in a ‘relationship’ they fail to realize they’re already in one 😆. Bonus if its jeremavin where Jeremy has known its been dates the whole time only to be very confused when michael and gavin seem surprised when jeremy points this out

🎧 :: the tally hall internet show

over the past three days i have been watching the tally hall internet show (THIS), which has been up since 2008 (i believe), and the most recent comments on the vimeo uploads were about 6 months ago? since i discovered tally hall, i have always thought there is a deeper meaning behind each song, and a full story per album. this led me into doing bits and pieces of research into what other people have thought, leading me to THIS. i found episode 3 (taken for a ride) was the most notable, it has something being spoken backwards, and is also the most surreal episode of the show, with flashing and colourful lights, strange images and of course, the ultimate pause test which resulted in (funnily enough), the lyrics for taken for a ride as a book format.

i don't know if the format is of significance to working out the story (if there is one), other than the page numbers, which means this isn't the beginning of the story.

another episode which helps with taken for a ride specifically is the last episode, "marvin's marvelous mechanical museum". this shows the band visiting mavin yagoda (the guy who started the museum).

the episodes themselves are packed full of skits and the band getting up to some random shit, many episodes include "welcometonow.org", which is a mystery to most fans, as it was taken down(?), which isn't too much of a help, but it's been said that it was something about a cult, and the joke was that tally hall could get their "crazy fans" to join a cult, even though this started in 2007-2008, when they hadn't had the amount of fans as they do now.

Marvin is *not* a member of IRIS

 There’s very few solid conclusions you can come to from the new video only guesswork but here’s one that I’m pretty sure of.  “But Chey!” you may ask “how can you be so sure? We didn’t even see Marvin in the newest video!”. That is a good question and one I will answer here today!

   First of all let’s establish one thing very quickly, WTCHR is most likely before all of the other videos chronologically, this is not a sure fact, but it would make sense if it were, so we’re going to be acting like it is a sure fact in this theory.

  That would mean WTCHR is before Argentum Inanis. In WTCHR it is said that IRIS has an Antimatter generator. In Argentum Inanis, the book says IRIS = ANTMATTER. This is where my theory comes in. 

 You see, in the book there seems to be two different writings.

 One written carefully and neatly and another in big dark strokes oftentimes scribbled in the corner and sometimes seemly having blacked out some words of the original text. They are visibly different handwriting so they’re not by the same person. The neat writing is probably the author of the book, that would only make sense considering it’s the majority of the text. The dark writing is probably Marvin’s notes. Scribbling things he knows but the book doesn’t say into the corners and crossing out stuff that isn’t true/irrelevant. He even underlined Argentum Inanis! That meaning that Marvin was the person who wrote IRIS = ANTIMATTER.

 But see, that begs the question; if Marvin were a member of IRIS, why would he write that? As a member of IRIS he would know all about the Antimatter generator, wouldn’t he? So why would he need to note down that IRIS = ANTIMATTER? Also the note feels a bit...impersonal. Like he doesn’t IRIS personally. That’s not really founded on anything, it’s just a vibe.

  Besides Marvin comes across as someone searching for information but getting way more than he bargained for in Argentum Inanis. If Anti was really created by IRIS as we’ve theorized, wouldn’t he know? Honestly it seems like: IRIS made an Antimatter generator, something went wrong and Anti happened, Marvin caught wind of some shit going on so decided to investigate, and Marvin gets in over his head and gets possessed. 

  The dark notes *could* be written by someone other than Marvin. Maybe by Marvin’s teacher or predecessor who got murked so Mavin decided to take up the mantle. We have no proof this person exists so let’s just assume the notes are Marvin’s.

   In conclusion, Marvin is not a member of IRIS, he’s just someone who got more than he bargained for.

"Magic without a trigger? What does that mean?" Chase asked, not understanding why Marvin and Phantom looked at Mad like he had two heads.

"Very long story short, all magic needs a physical trigger of sorts, a movement of hands so it will go since the magic is inside of us and needs a path to follow to come out," Marvin explained. 

"It is nearly impossible to cast spells without that trigger," Phantom added. "Even some of the highest trained and powerful magic users can't do that, or it takes everything in them to do so…Mad did it like it was nothing."

"We can't let Dark know he can do that," Marvin said. 

"Mad would never know a day of peace if he does." Phantom rubbed his face. 

"I need to go home," Henrik said as he returned to the room. "It's Robbie, he has…he has done that thing again." 

"Wait, he’s-"

"Yes." Henrik cut Chase off short. "I need to check on him." 

"Do you want us to come with you?" Marvin asked.

"No, no. You worry about your new housemates.” Henrik's eyes showed that his thoughts were racing. 

"I got him," Edward said to Chase and Marvin before getting up and guiding Henrik out of the house, voice soft and reassuring that all would be well. 

"I'm guessing we're not welcome to that info?" Mare asked.

"Not for us to share," Marvin stated.

"Fair." Mare and Phantom nodded, showing they wouldn't push it. 

"Who's Robbie?" Mad, on the other hand, missed the request for some privacy hint. 

"Mad." Mare waited until Mad looked at him before clicking his tongue and gesturing toward his neck with his hand, a silent and quick way to tell Mad to let it go.  

"Oh! Uh-sorry." Mad gave an awkward smile. “So…what now?” 

“For now, let’s just figure out how all of you are sleeping here.” Marvin sighed and stood up. “Chase, obviously, you can go home at any time.” 

“You’re not getting rid of me that easily.” Chase bumped Marvin’s hip with his own, getting Mavin to softly chuckle. 

“Follow me,” Marvin said to the others and led them deeper into his house. “This is my room.” He broadly pointed at the closed door and kept going. “These two are the spars.” Marvin opened the other two doors with a flick of both wrists.  

“Are those king-sized beds?” Phantom asked after peeking his head into one of the rooms. 

“Always nice to have plenty of room.” Marvin grinned. 

“Soundproofing?” Phantom asked over his shoulder. 

“Gross.” Mare rolled his eyes. 

“Magically done,” Marvin answered.

“Well, at least there are some fun things I can do while trapped here.” Phantom chuckled, looping his arm through Jackie’s. 

“What are we doing?” Jackie asked. 

“Everything you’ll need is in the bottom drawer of the bedside table,” Marvin informed and laughed as Phantom practically dragged Jackie into the room and closed the door. 

“I don’t know how he can be horny at a time like this.” Mare sighed. 

“They’re about to have sex?” Mad asked, eyes widening slightly. 

“Don’t worry about it.” Mare turned Mad away from the door and walked them into the other room. “You said something about getting another bed in here?” He asked Marvin as Mad went off on his own. 

“Not sure if I can get it in here by the time you’d like to sleep. Magic or not, it won’t be till probably tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.” Marvin was lying a little. Technically, he could go to the basement and find one of his old blow-up mattresses, but he felt like embracing his matchmaker energy. It worked for Henrik and Edward; surely, it’ll work for these two. 

“I mean, I could sleep on the couch.” Mare offered as Marvin snapped his fingers and had Mad’s suitcases appear in the room. Mad made an ‘oo’ sound and went right for his belongings, opening them up and working on getting a head start with unpacking. 

“Do you think Mad can handle sleeping in a new room, in a new building, on his own? After everything that’s happened, with the chance of Actor now hunting you two down?” Marvin breathed in through his teeth. 

“But Phantom did a spell so that Actor can’t find us here.” Mare said.

“Tell anxiety that. I don’t know much about Mad, but something tells me he’s an overthinker.” Marvin pointed to his own temple and watched as Mare looked over at Mad and rubbed his neck.

“Yeah…” Mare said softly. Mad was putting some clothing into the dresser, humming a little to himself. 

“I mean, if you’re worried about sharing a bed, you could always do that one thing where you use pillows to keep you separate,” Chase suggested. 

“I guess.” Mare sighed and then made a face when noticed the next set of clothing Mad was putting away. “Did you grab some of my stuff?” 

“Can’t have you walking around naked.” Mad giggled, kneeling on the ground as he sorted the jeans. “And I got your blanket and our puzzle.” 

“I didn’t even think of getting those.” Mare chuckled as he started helping Mad unpack. 

“That’s why I’m the brains of this operation,” Mad said with a teasing pop of his lips. 

“Have fun,” Marvin said and closed the door. 

“You went from living alone to having four roommates,” Chase said as he and Marvin went to Marvin’s bedroom, closing the door behind him. 

“And two of them are my ex-boyfriend and his now current boyfriend.” Marvin took his mask off and lifted his arms in a stretch. 

“Are you going to be okay with all of that?” Chase asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Strangely enough…I am.” Marvin started unbuttoning his shirt. “Wasn’t that long ago that if you told me I’d be doing this, I’d laugh in your face like you’ve lost your mind.” 

“Marv…what if Mad doesn’t want to sign the contract?” 

“He doesn’t really have a choice. He needs help. You saw all of those scars on him. He’s lucky that they’re not like mine and can and will heal clearly with magic, but one of these days, they might not be. He shouldn’t have to hide himself because he’s too powerful for his own good.” Marvin tossed his shirt into a clothes hamper. 

“You don’t have to hide your face, you know.” Chase stood back up and went to Marvin. 

“Making children cry and dogs bark in fear is a pretty good reason to.” Marvin laughed and turned, finding himself face-to-face with Chase. 

“I think they look cool.” Chase placed his hands on Marvin’s face, rubbing his cheeks with his thumbs. 

“I know, darling. But not everyone is like you.” Marvin sighed, placing his hand on top of one of Chase’s, leaning into the touch. 

“When have you ever given a damn about what others think?” Chase had a smile as he said those words.

“Everything has its limits,” Marvin swore that Chase made his heart a butterfly with how it fluttered at his kind smile.  

“Fuck those limits.” Chase lightly huffed and caught Marvin in a kiss. 

“How about you fuck me instead~” Marvin giggled, so done with the day and just wanting to do something to forget it all, even temporarily, and Chase being so adoring and caring made it easy to decide how he wanted to do that. 

“I feel like I should quote Mare’s earlier comment about Phantom being horny.” Chase chuckled as he was guided to the bed, crawling up it as Marvin laid down. 

“Nope, no quoting, no mentioning the others. There is only you and me right now, and that’s how I want it for the rest of the night.” Marvin tugged at Chase’s shirt, trying to slide it off him. 

“I guess I can handle that.” Chase chuckled, sitting up to do what Marvin wanted, placing a hand on Marvin’s when he rubbed his now bare chest. He used his other hand to hold Marvin’s face again. “It’s going to be okay.” 

“I know, honey, I know.” Marvin smiled and pulled Chase down into a kiss.

Seeing if this was on streaming TV series the episode count would be anywhere from 6-13. For the series however will go with 5. Each episode is about 42 - 59 minutes, and all give a little summary for each episode.

Episodes:

1. Fem Fatal:

- Selina has struggled with the fact she never confronted her father and how she never knew him. Selina visits Carmine crypt and sees a mysterious woman leave flowers. She watches her left before taking off herself.

- Selina’s has a kid in her building who gets information for her Catwoman activities. Holly tells Selina that the woman she saw was a member of Carmine’s family. His daughter. Sofia.

2. Cold Tracks

- Holly has kept tabs on Sofia while she visits Gotham and finds out that she’s leaving to visit her brother in Rome.

- Selina leaves Gotham City and arrive in Rome. Catwoman begins to tail one Sofia’s henchmen to a local dive bar. Catwoman is caught in the middle of a drug smuggling ring and has to get out of the crosshairs.

- Holly tells Selina that she tapped into Sofia’s phone and tells her that she knew Selina was tailing her back in Gotham. Holly informs Catwoman where she might find Sofia, she’s attending a private ball at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna. Selina Kyle makes her grand entrance and captures the attention of the heir to the Falcone clan. Alberto.

3. Like Mother, Like Daughter:

- Selina has Alberto fascinated by her and she evades her throughout the evening while gathering intel on why the remaining Falcone’s are in fact planning. She over hears part Sofia’s plan to overthrow her brother and take her rightful place as the leader of the Falcone family. Alberto surprise Selina and she quickly understands how his sister can overthrow the aloof bachelor.

- Selina slips away and runs into Sofia. The two have a cold chat and Selina indirectly learns that her mother was killed by Falcone. Sofia tells her this is warning her to stay out of her way.

- Catwoman breaks into Alberto’s penthouse and retrieves files from his laptop. She hides as he enters. He tells her to show herself. He tries to shoot her but misses. She uses her whip and disarms him. The two have a brief hand to hand fight where Catwoman ties him to his office chair.

-She gets him to talk but she later realizes that Alberto was forced into being the leader by his father and never wanted this. Just as that happens multiple shoots full the room and Catwoman and Alberto take cover. When the gunfire stops a fire spreads and Catwoman gets Alberto out and onto a rooftop nearby.

-She looks down and sees Sofia leave a white rose at the ground and leaves with her men. Selina turns to the unconscious man and wonders how she got evolved in a family civil war.

4. Bye Blood:

- Holly and Selina get Alberto to Selina’s hotel and wait for him to wake up. He does the next day and Selina begins to question him. Selina reveals that Falcone was in fact her father and killed her mother to cover it up so the illegitimate child wouldn’t ruin his seat on the Falcone throne.

- Alberto and Selina realize their upbringings weren’t that different. He agrees to help her stop Sofia from causing a all out war.

- Holly informs that after she claimed Alberto died last night she’s the new queenpin and she’s returning to Gotham to take back what Falcone fought so hard to build. The three return to Gotham to stop Sofia once and for all.

5. Here Kitty, Kitty:

- Selina, Holly, and Alberto return to Gotham City. Alberto tells them he has to inform the family about what Sofia has done,but Selina warns him that they were in on it. The two form a plan.

- Sofia returns to his father’s penthouse as the self-claimed queenpin. Her rule is short lived as Alberto and Catwoman burst through the front to door and work their way up to the top level.

- Sofia mocks her brother for his foolish and arrogant ways before firing three times into his chest. She then turns and shoots Selina in the leg. Sofia taunts Catwoman and tells her it was all in vain. Catwoman scratches her face and she stumbles towards the window.

- Alberto rises from the ground and grabs her gun. He reveals he’s wearing a bulletproof vest and tells her to say hi to father for him. He shoots her at point blank range and she crashes through the window down forty stories. Selina asks what if she shot him in the head and he tells her he’s lucky her sim as always been off.

- Alberto parts from his sister and tells her she’ll see him again. Selina watches from across the rooftop as police and swat enter the penthouse. A shadow appears behind her and she tells him your late. Batman asks where has she been and she tells him she been to Rome and back. And she leaves the rooftop with Batman watching her leap and whip rooftop to rooftop.

ALBUM REVIEW: AYRA STARR - 19 & DANGEROUS

Ayra Starr's unprecedented ascent in the past two years is, at this point, very well documented. An 18 year old discovered by Mavin Records off Instagram videos, she has made the dizzying journey from amateur hopeful to Nigeria's bona-fide pop princess in under two years. Her's was not the sudden blow up off a single song, or a spark of popularity from social media. It was a stepwise rise to the top, and she had to go past every checkpoint on her way here, even if very quickly. This run culminated in the release of 19 And Dangerous in August last year, and with it Ayra Starr placed the crown on her own head and ascended her throne. Her return now is not a sequel but a re-release – a curious decision perhaps, but it is a feeling that wanes off with each listen, for these additions fit right into scope and theme of the album. So, it's no wonder that the new tracks on the album – there are 6 of them, including a refix of "lonely" that replaced the original - are scattered into the original tracklist and not queued up at the end, for they are do not constitute a new story, they are simply missing parts of the original. 

And that is an early marker for the success of this deluxe, that the songs added are seemingly not an afterthought or commercial strategy, but because there were things left unsaid, so that the deluxe is not a reheating of old material but an update you never knew you needed. A song like "rush", released as a single a month ago, fits right into her original mantra while restating familiar points with an updated context. Where "Bloody Samaritan" is brash and daring, warning off haters and detractors from their nose-poking and side talk, - the opposite of the biblical good Samaritan who takes interest in another's affairs for altruism – "Rush" sees her stick her current status in their faces. She speaks from her new seat of queenship where she no longer squabbles with the common gossips, she can simply throw her achievements at them: "Me no get the time for the hate and the bad energy/ Got my mind on my money" she says on the blistering hook, and since it builds up to the metaphorical "e dey rush" chorus, – portraying blessings as a running tap – the song's message is pointed and unmissable. She reprises this role in "Bloody Samaritan", "Bloody Samaritan" remix (with Kelly Rowland) and Bridgertn, altogether making for a quartet of songs, and a quarter of the album, spent in power. Kelly Rowland's verse is the only other new addition from this section, and it is an excellent addition, in how it sounds and ties into the overall philosophy. 

For how young she is, Ayra has a lot of wisdom to give. With a childhood spent across three major African cities, Lagos, Abuja and Cotonou, and then cut short for her to attend university at the young age of 14, she draws from a pool of experience more than her years. This makes her ideal to be a voice of and for the youth, to convey unspoken fears and hopes, and offer advice in exchange. "Cast" from the original, and "Ase" from this deluxe emphasise the importance of shutting ears to society's opinions and expectations. The latter is a giant middle finger to society, literally, and she gives the same treatment to wannabees and hypocrites. Ayra's battle against Nigeria's conservative, hypocritical standards, especially for women and young people, is long running, and she is not alone. This song shares the same rebellious spirit as "Try Me", a product of Tems, who has been in similar shoes as our protagonist. 

Elsewhere, new releases are mostly dotted with verses from guest artists. The original album only had two other singers in Foushee and CKay, and it is a big delight that this deluxe triples that number, even bigger that it maintains nearly the same standard of quality that those two had set. The new "lonely" features Zinoleesky, a refix and not a remix, and it's beat has been sped up and given modifications to sound heavier, thus push it closer into Zinoleesky's natural range. His frequent collaborator, Niphkeys, also shares production credits on this, so it’s obvious quite a bit has been done to accommodate him on the track. The result is, however, not the most cohesive mix, and Zinoleesky's verse sounds too similar to some of his own music, but it was an interesting link-up to try and it was nice to hear a fresh version of one of the original tracks. 

"Running" with Lojay is all-new, and should not be confused with "Runaway", their song together off the NATIVEWORLD album where they first tested their chemistry. This track casts them on opposite sides of a forming relationship – Ayra needing promises of fidelity and commitment, Lojay assuring his new lover of these things. "And I swear to Bible/ I can't breathe without you beside o" he says, and it's the closest Ayra comes on this album to pure romance, other tracks have her on the giving or receiving end of a lopsided one. Like the very next song, "Beggie Beggie", where Ayra is left holding the short end of the stick when she makes the infamous mistake of falling in love with a FWB. Her ability to depict relationships at different stages and in different forms makes for relatable content, especially as opposed to the rose-tinted view seen in a most music, and it helps to add layer of depth to this album.

Ayra Starr's debut album is a 19 (now 20) year old's diary. In it she chronicles love and heartbreak, and a firm desire to live her life according to her own rules, to ignore the invisible hand of society that points where to go next, especially to young women. Of course, there are only a few 19 year olds in the world who can express this as well as she can, in writing and voice, so the rest of them can count on her to be their spokesperson, a mantle she assumes with sagacious ease. Like the ideal biblical prophet, she encourages you to be inspired by her actions and not just words, and if her dizzying journey says anything, it's that there is nothing a young person cannot do if they are talented and determined enough.
