I was demoted. I made a decision on a call, as captain, that went against what my chief had ordered. So, insubordination. That is the official reason, yes. What was the unofficial reason? You know, I would say, unofficially, it was sexism. Possibly homophobia. The chief was threatened by me. And then the new chief, the female chief, had the opportunity to correct the mistake, but she declined, because she's doing it just like the boys did, which isn't really progress at all. It's just the same thing.
The absolute best part of the finale, maybe the whole of 5B, was finding out that Marina got to know each other as friends before they did anything else. Carina really was just her "OB friend" in the beginning. I knew that Maya saw Carina as more than just a wellness Wednesday but finding out that they didn't get to the wellness part after just meeting and they actually took time to build a kind of rapport where they constantly communicated makes their relationship even more special to me. It means Carina was always the one for Maya, right from when they first met. It's details like this that make their relationship more organic and not seem as rushed. I really wish the writers focused more on giving us these little bits and pieces of information which are more entertaining than watching them pick a sperm donor for half a season.
